Reviews of The Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand

Pros:

Product seems to be very well built. Parts are actually made out of metal and are sufficiently rigid for force feedback steering wheels. Stand stays in place without sliding and the angle and position adjustments of the wheel did not require readjustment during use. I set it up where I was comfortable with the position and it just stayed there with no fuss and no hassle of trying to reposition while playing.

The mount is compatible with most current wheels and will likely work with future ones as well. It's simply a board that you clamp the wheel to. It's sturdy and big enough for several wheel setups such as the G25/27 with the separate shifter, which is nice as I may upgrade to a G27 at some point. So while it may seem simple and very basic, it's intuitive and likely future proof with no hassle of trying to find a different plate or drill holes etc.

Cons:

The holes in the "dial" for angle adjustment did not line up exactly with the stationary mount on the stand. It was close enough that I was able to get the bolt through the dial and stationary mount, but it did require some extra effort to screw it through with an alan wrench when it should have just pushed through and then tightened down with the cap nut. Not a huge deal, but a minor annoyance.

I'm not a fan of the angle adjustment on the bottom right foot of the stand. I was playing bare footed and managed to scrape my heel on the metal a few times. Once again, not a huge deal, but a minor annoyance.

Rating:

Initially I considered giving this product a 4 star rating because while it's a nice stand, I had a couple of niggles with it and there are better ones out there. Then I considered the price point and decided it did indeed deserve the 5 star rating. While there are better stands out there, they would have cost me almost twice as much from Amazon after shipping. While they are better, they may be a 5% improvement over this stand. Not 100%. I fully believe that I will keep this stand for a very long time and the build quality will enable me to do so.

I fully recommend this product to anyone considering the purchase of a wheel stand. MINOR annoyances aside, it can't be beat at this price range.

I am not your typical game player, just a mature, retired adult, that got interested in playing racing games on a PC and Playstation. In the past I have raced Corvettes all over the United States, no longer can I race the real cars, but enjoy revisiting racing from the comfort of my family room.

I had been using different TV trays for the racing wheels and the carpet floor of my family room. This got to be rather frustrating, as the TV tray was not stable enough and the foot pedals constantly moved away from my chair.

So, after deliberation, I purchased the Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand by One Source Living. When it was delivered, in a very timely manner, I was impressed not only by the way it was constructed, but how it was engineered. It was constructed of steel and real wood, not particle board and plastic. It came with a set of simple directions, all hardware required and tools to put the stand together. It took me ten minutes to put the stand together.

I have a Microsoft SideWinder Precision Racing Wheel, Mad Catz Dual Force Racing Wheel and Pedals and a Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback CLUTCH Racing Wheel, I know this is kind of an over kill for a retired adult, it only took me minutes to change from one racing wheel combination to another, the Ultimate Steering Wheel stand is that versatile.

The stand consist of a metal frame that is just heavy enough to keep the game stand from moving forward as you use the foot pedals. On the base plate there is a wooden floor that has a metal angle that can be attached to the floor, this is to prevent the foot pedal assembly from moving forward or backward. I first attached this metal angle behind the foot pedals, for my long legs, this did not work as the foot pedal assembly extended beyond the attachments for the angle iron. This is not a problem, as at the end of the wooden base there is a metal vertical lip that not only keeps the pedal assembly on the wooden floor, but will not allow the pedal assembly to move forward. A shorter friend of mine, showed me a different way to attach the foot pedal assembly. He moved the foot pedal assembly so that the back was against the vertical tubing, attached the metal angle to secure the front of the foot pedal assembly. Thus the foot pedal assembly was firmly held between the vertical tubing and the metal angle. The vertical square tubing, is anchored to the base and is adjustable for a front to rear position / angle, at the base. The vertical tubing is adjustable for any height that may be required. At the top of the vertical tubing is an adjustable plate, to provide a comfortable position for the steering wheel angle. These adjustable, front to rear position and steering wheel angle, are like having a telescoping, vertical adjustment steering wheel in a automobile. The adjustable height and wheel angle can be quickly changed by easily accessible knobs, located at the top of the vertical tubing. At the top of the vertical tube is a rectangle piece of wood with many adjustable fittings, located on the under side of the wood table. These adjustments are for configuring different racing wheels, left to right or right to left, I did have to make any adjustments for my steering wheels. The wooden table is large enough to accommodate any of my steering wheel combinations, as well as leaving enough room for a cool drink. Plus, I can remove the wheel and pedals, fold the game stand and slide it under my couch.

It is a real pleasure to use the Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand, in my family room, in my rocking, over stuffed recliner, in front of my 60" HD TV.

Best Deals for The Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand

I've been sim racing for a long, long time, and I've always wanted to buy a full rig, but I've never had the money or the room. I have the room now, but I still don't have the money. Luckily, this wheel stand is a good substitute.

For the price, you can't beat this thing. Ninety bucks gets you a solid, well-constructed wheel stand that's sturdy, stable, and easy to

put together. It's adjustable enough that you can put the wheel at the angle you need it, and, once you put the gripper legs in place,

the stand stays anchored to one spot, and you won't move it out of place unless you have incredibly stiff pedals.

Speaking of pedals: I use a Fanatec CSR wheel and Clubsport pedals, and the stand fits them both perfectly.

My only quibble is that the pedal mount isn't adjustable (I would have liked the ability to tilt the pedals up some. But, considering the price, that's a minor complaint. If you need a compact wheel stand that is stable, well-built, and easy to move, look no further.

Honest reviews on The Ultimate Steering Wheel Racing Game Stand

This is probably the best stand out there for the price. Serves the purpose and the build quality and finish are really great. I've been procrastinating buying a stand for a while due to the usually higher prices of these stands. This one is a steal.

Review of Guitar Hero (Bundle with Guitar)

Guitar Hero
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I think I've hit one of the must-have games for any PS2 owner that enjoys rock music. You get a physical "guitar" controller with this game, and it's amazingly fun!

You hold the controller just like a real guitar, and it's switchable for left handed players. The neck of the guitar has 5 buttons on it that you play with your left hand. In the center of the guitar is a "strum" button that you hit to play the notes. There's even a metal bar to wiggle, to cause the notes to "bend" to give an extra crowd boost.

If you're not a big hard rock / metal fan, there's only a few songs to choose from. You get Ziggy Stardust, Crossroads, Killer Queen, Sharp Dressed Man, More than a Feeling and a few more. Those who like harder rock will be quite thrilled, though. There's Iron Man, I Wanna Be Sedated, Symphony of Destruction, You've Got Another Thing Comin' and much more.

There are four difficulty levels. You start with easy of course, where it's great fun to play along with your favorite songs and just have fun. When you crank up to the higher levels moving through various venues and unlocking different characters and guitars the keys get VERY difficult. Still, it's a blast hammering away at the notes, waving your guitar around in the air and having fun.

The sound is quite good, and you get a real boost from hearing the crowd cheer and yell for you. The visuals are reasonable but really, this isn't a game about visuals. You just watch for the buttons to press, and press them. It's really about the music.

Now, I do have to mention some complaints. The first is the song list. I wish they'd offered more of a wide selection of song types. I suppose that new games will come out soon with more song options, which I'll look forward to.

Next is the key layout. I really love the strum bar. But the buttons up on the neck of the guitar are AWFUL. They have 5 wide buttons all in a straight line. The buttons have to be pressed straight in to work well. Human fingers simply don't work that way. They should have put the buttons at an angle both angled a bit diagonally the way a hand holds a guitar neck, and also angled up-down so that your fingers press into them at an angle. As it is now, the buttons tend to stick and jam. When you fail at a really complex song because the keys have stuck, it's very frustrating.

That being said, you can usually get through an hour or two before your fingers really start to kill you. If you play with a group of friends, passing the guitar around between songs, that means an afternoon can go by before all of you end up with finger pain. I suppose it's a built in way to ensure that you don't play video games all day long :)

Finally, a PS2 game that deserves five stars. Guitar Hero is one of those high-concept games with such a great premise that many people will buy it without having seen a single screen capture. And the cincher is, it fully lives up to its promise.

Pros:

Addictive gameplay. The customized guitar-shaped controller gives an added cute factor over other simulation games of this type.

Terrific graphics, backgrounds, and characters. Their in-game activities and details are very endearing.

Fortunately, they didn't forget the guitar-loving gals and included two female characters you can choose from. There's also a terrific Donnas song ("Take It Off") you can play along to, plus that perennial air-guitar classic, Joan Jett's "I Love Rock and Roll". They could've gone even farther with the gender balance -imagine trying to play something by Sleater-Kinney, with those twisty Carrie Brownstein guitar lines -but at least they tried.

Good songs with diversity. I hadn't expected to see "Godzilla" on here -Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser is a grossly underrated guitarist, and playing this song might make you appreciate him much more. "Bark at the Moon" and "You Got Another Thing Comin'" are classic metal; "Texas Flood" and "Crossroads" represent the blues spectrum; "Higher Ground" supplies the funk; "Stellar" and "No One Knows" represent modern alternative rock. "Cowboys from Hell" is an apt tribute to the late, great Dimebag Darrell, and Megadeth's crushing "Symphony of Destruction" is my favourite song selection. The songs aren't their original versions (imagine the licensing fees), but they are great-sounding recreations of the recordings.

I had originally been skeptical about the SG guitar controller's ability to respond to lightning-fast notes, but it turns out to be quite sharp.

Rock-star dreams. Who wouldn't get a kick out of this?

Cons:

While there's a good diversity in the song choices, like Stevie Ray Vaughan ("Texas Flood"), Edgar Winter Group ("Frankenstein") and Queen ("Killer Queen"), at a certain point, it still ain't quite enough. Given the huge pantheon of rock/blues/jazz music out there, of course there'll be omissions, and licensing problems probably added to the limitations in song choices. No Led Zeppelin, no Nirvana or Pearl Jam, no Guns N' Roses, no AC/DC, no Allman Brothers Band, no Joe Satriani, no Van Halen, no Santana, no The Band, no Bruce Springsteen, no U2, no Neil Young and Crazy Horse, no Metallica, no Evanescence, no Aerosmith, no Living Colour, no Bon Jovi, no Dream Theater. And where are "Hotel California" and "Layla"? Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb"? Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover"?

While some of the unlockable bonus songs are fun to play -Freezepop's "Get Ready 2 Rokk" is just fabulously weird, and Artillery's "The Breaking Wheel" is challenging, twisty fun -some of them are trite, and some are downright annoying, included only because a certain member of the band is on the Harmonix design team. The Acro-Brats, The Slip, Made in Mexico, Count Zero and Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives are especially irritating -bad music, repetitive and overlong. And there's way too much skater punk-pop in general.

Having Gibson Guitars' endorsement means you get to play some genuine Gibson guitar designs. Hey, I play one myself and I love them. But not being able to use classic designs like the Stratocaster, the Ibanez R-type, the Telecaster, the Rickenbacker and the Jackson Rhoads is conspicuous, to say the least.

Remember to rest your hands...the SG controller has what we'd call a "baseball bat" neck, thicker than any electric guitar I can think of, and playing this thing can be even more tiring than playing a real guitar...this coming from a guy who plays acoustic 12-string.

There are already plenty of wishlists on the web for songs that haven't been included, and I can only hope there will be a Guitar Hero 2. Terrific fun.

Best Deals for Guitar Hero (Bundle with Guitar)

You may have seen it in arcades, an undersized plastic "guitar" with 5 colorful buttons on its bridge, but balked at the $2.00 it costs to play the thing. Well for only $70.00 you can now get the game for your PS2 and play it over and over and over again.

And that's exactly what'll happen if you buy it.

One stipulation:

You better at least like rock music. And by Rock, I don't mean Sheryl Crowe, I mean Head-thrashing, Fingers-shredding, Bite-the-head-off-bats rock. Oh sure, there's the occasional genre buster, they've got a modest Queen piece, and Texas Flood, a slinging blues piece. But the meat of the playlist comes from bands with guitarists who have one-word nicknames. From punk to classic to metal to some of the bands on the radio today, the common denominator is that the songs rock.

Still, it's ridiculously addicting, like a Dance Dance Revolution for the hair-band crowd, and while there are a limited number of songs (around 30 once everything's unlocked), it's a testament to the quality of the game that even if there were 50 songs, you'd probably still want more. The difficulty is high enough that finishing the game on Expert level would leave you with enough skills to pick up an actual guitar and play some extremely easy tab. That's not to say it's a music-teaching tool, it's not by any stretch of the imagination, but it certainly wouldn't hurt your eye-hand coordination or your rhythmic sensibility.

The hardware itself is a miniature SG-style sturdy piece of plastic. There's even a whammy bar which, while it's not integrated into gameplay, is available for all your pitch bending needs.

Given the right environment, it's the kind of game that you could lose sleep over the first few nights you got it. It's good for either a party-environment, or rocking out yourself in career mode. Two thumbs, two index fingers and two pinkies up!

Guitar Hero is that rare product that gets a five star rating from nearly every person who uses it, and with good reason. It succeeds on every level. It's an incredibly audacious game. Everything in it, it seems, is turned up to eleven.

What the game does is play cover songs that sound astoundingly close to the originals, with the guitar parts broken down note-by-note, so that each note only sounds when you press the indicated button on the fretboard while "picking" with a two-way rocker switch on the guitar controller. If you miss a note, that note doesn't sound (or you get a slight "error" type noise), and the results are pretty funny. With a real guitar you can fudge your way through a smokin' heavy metal solo by playing random distorted notes as fast as you can. Only other guitarists will know the difference. But here, it becomes painfully obvious to everyone around when you blow a note--the guitar silence is deafening, the audience shows its disapproval with boos, and the animated character hangs his or her head in shame. But when you nail it, you are rewarded with praise from the audience, "Star Power", and the character even smashes the guitar or sets it on fire in celebration. This game is pure entertainment. Even the fonts for your name are "fun", and just wait until you see what happens when you enter your name into the high scores!

Oh, and don't forget to look closely at the financial statements after each show. Just like real life, the artist who does all the work gets the smallest piece of the pie, while the "businessmen" get 90% of the artists' earnings. The only thing missing is the RIAA suing your grandmother, your children, or your dog, for music piracy.

There is a Quick Play mode, which allows you to jump right in and play any unlocked song at any difficulty level. The Career mode is where you unlock most of the 30 well-known songs, and earn the money you'll need to unlock songs, guitars, characters, skins, and even special feature videos on how the game was made. I went straight to the Medium difficulty mode and could unlock all the songs quickly without struggling through the Expert difficulty first.

The Expert mode is very difficult because you already have your four fingers on the "frets", and then they add a fifth fret, so you must move your pinky or shift your entire hand over one fret. It's not easy! The guitar controller looks like a cheesy toy, but it's actually a solid product. Be sure to plug it in to your first controller slot before booting up your PS2 though--it wasn't exactly plug-n-play for me when the game was already running and I plugged it into the second controller slot.

The only way Guitar Hero could be better is if you could use a real guitar with real strings. Some day in the future I'm sure we'll be able to use a MIDI guitar to do just that. Until then, Guitar Hero has got to be one of the most entertaining video games ever made. You can play these songs over and over again without losing interest. Trust me, when you're alone, you'll be writhing and grimacing musically like a rock star when you play this game. Pete Townsend windmills and the Chuck Berry "duckwalk" are all possible while playing the guitar controller.

Songs run the gamut from Classic Rock (Jimi Hendrix, Cream) to your favorite 90's bands (Pantera, The Donnas), along with several unknown new bands. I was originally concerned about playing songs I never heard before. But those are fun in their own unique way precisely because you don't know how the song goes. Even songs I hated before (Joan Jett--"I Love Rock 'N Roll") are fun to play. I'm so glad they also included some unique songs like Frankenstein and Godzilla, and especially a great blues tune by Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood). One of my favorites to play is Ziggy Stardust. Best of all, there's NO METALLICA (I can't stomach even hearing Metallica ever since Lars started whining about impoverished consumers "stealing" music from multi-millionaire rock stars). Despite the lack of Van Halen, I was more bummed that Rush wasn't found here. But good news--Guitar Hero II will feature both Rush and Van Halen!

I've been a frustrated guitarist for 20 years. This game allows me to max out what little skill I do have on the controller, while hearing guitar work out the speaker that I could only dream of producing myself. That makes Guitar Hero a genuine treat for me. I think that's why it is so addictive--it really does make you feel as if YOU were producing those incredible riffs and solos.

Bravo to the developer (Harmonix), and the musicians who created the covers (Wavegroup) for putting so much thought into Guitar Hero! RedOctane is just the publisher, and I think it's a shame they get all the credit when Harmonix and Wavegroup did all the work!

The only conceivable thing missing is brands of guitars other than Gibson. Yet it doesn't really matter since tone and fret action aren't even an issue with a plastic guitar controller. Hopefully somebody is working on a wireless guitar controller, which would allow you to do even more crazy stunts while playing.

I'll end this review by repeating what others have already said: This game is so good, it's worth buying a PS2 system just to play Guitar Hero.

Being a fan of the older Silent Hills and Resident Evils I was skeptical of this game. I enjoy shoot em up games, buy miss the old style of run to live. That being said, this game is definitely like the old games. You have to play smart and cant just charge into battle. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

The game is split up into 6 "episodes". Each chapter plays out like a self contained story that is a part of the whole story. I dont want to say to much, but for this price you cant go wrong.

This game is fantastic. If you love a good mystery or thriller, this game will have you on the edge of your seat. You'll jump, you'll panic, you'll have an excellent time playing through this epic story of a writer desperately trying to save his wife, and the world, from the darkness. If you're a fan of Stephen King, if you're a fan of Twin Peaks, The X-Files, Silent Hill, or even Resident Evil, you will love this game. It combines an incredible story, hectic action, jump-out-of-your-seat scare tactics and a little bit of humor to create one of my favorite, and many other peoples' favorite gameplay experiences of the last decade.

I bought this and it was missing the t10 screwdriver and clear wind tunnel. I installed it anyway along with corexcm2 fans and the leds on the case burnt out. I was mad so i sent it back. Its a great case if it came with all the parts and didnt break.

Case came in good packaging. Double boxed and case parts wrapped in its own foam bag. Disassembly and reassembly is not very hard. As long as you follow the instructions on their website. Also note that only 2 drives are compatible with the 2 see through drive covers that are sent with the shell. Mine is a phillips drive and I since I bought the spekter color you cant see through it anyhow so no biggy on that. The leds are bright and look great. Note! the lights do not plug into the fan connection. They plug into the drive/mother board (with a replacment harness with the lights attached) Also they can be placed anywhere inside the case. They come with two sided tape. When reinstalling the new covers pay attention to the eject button. It slides in a little hard but if youre carefull it'll fit fine. The back of the case fits a little rough. It clips in but isnt totaly tight. (its on the back so who cares) The color is great apperently its not that hot in my hous since the only part that changed color is on the bottom of the case where the motherboard sits and the rest is still grey in color. All in all I like the case it comes with everything but the end plates and the rubber pads on the bottom. The only thing I dislike is that the power button/player light is not as visible like it used to be with the stock cases. but again not a big deal.. Hope this helps you out!

The product comes with no installation. I recommend watching a video on youtube, but the only problem is that the person installing the case has a completely different case. This may be a problem. When you istall the case take out the dvd drive and its wires. Keep the small black one, but throw the longer connection with thin lines out. Then reconnect with the led's. Connect the side with the 2 cords missing to the dvd drive. If you have more than one item to install with this one, ex. core cooler v2 then simply connect the core cooler v2 to the dvd drive first and then connect the led's wire to the core cooler v2 wires cable.

After I read all the positive reviews,I bought this controller thinking it would improve my game. It did not.

Comments like " it is the fastest controller on the market " are false. There was no additional speed or anything else.

You can configure any controller to do the same thing. It is a good controller but does not add anything to your game play.

The different modes are nice but the microchips program drains your battery way too quickly, I constantly have my play and charge kit in because it dies so fast, and it annoying because the play and charge kit makes ur mic all fuzzy and annoying for others, and with black ops 2 out this controller only good for rapid fire on there.

Intelligent Qube is one of those rare gems for the Playstation, and it is interesting to know that one can find humble and challenging games among the giants of flashy graphics.

The game is one big and bad puzzle floor where crushing cubes come falling your way and you need to avoid them by making use of explosives you place in the floor. The more cubes you destroy, the more points you get, and as you advance further the speed the cubes come your way increases by dangerous margins.

I do not know if this game can still be found, I really doubt it, but if you come to find it, by all means buy it!!

I have been looking for this game since I got the demo with my Playstation almost 10 years ago. When I finally spotted it sitting behind the glass at a local game store, I screamed like a little girl and pounced on it the way a falcon catches a hare. I had to have it.

What's different from the demo? There's music now, which seems a little bit out of place but has its own cathartic kind of quality. There are eight increasingly ridiculous stages and then the Final Stage, which consists of four devious puzzles. My chops were still fairly fresh, and I was able to beat the game in one sitting, but it took 3 hours and I had to continue twelve times, and I wound up with a final IQ of 12 since the game resets your score when you continue. I plan on replaying it nonstop until I beat it without continuing.

This game is still every bit as much fun as the demo was in 1997. The controls remain responsive, the puzzles are still fresh, and the game is still unlike anything before or since (including the rather lousy PQ). This game is my most prized possession.

This was the first (and only) puzzle game I've ever bought for a video game console, and it hooked me from the first five minutes of starting it up.

The concept here is really simiple. You're a tiny guy (or gal) on a big platform of blocks suspended in a world of darkness. You're sitting there, minding your own buisness, when suddenly huge smashy blocks appear at the end of the platform, coming right towards you. There's nowhere to hide, nowhere to run to. Your only chance is to set explosive devices and destroy the blocks before they reach you. If you fail...well, lets just say it won't be pretty.

So you run around, frantically destroying the blocks before they reach and crush you. It's very simple gameplay, but add in the fact that things go faster and faster, and the challenge gets harder and harder as the game goes on, and you've got a challenging game that's easy to learn, almost impossible to master.

So we've got fun and challenging gameplay, but absoloutly terrible graphics. By todays standards, Intelligent Qube is a visual mess. The charachters are terrilbly ugly and everything has a first generation playstation look to it. The game also gets impossibly hard as it goes on. I never got past the fourth level, which says a lot about how hard this puzzle is.

But the graphics and difficulty can be easily forgiven, considering how addictive and compelling the gameplay is. In it's finest form, Intelligent Qube is a perfect example of superior gameplay over superior graphics. This is one puzzler that stands the test of time quite well.

Honest reviews on Intelligent Qube - PlayStation

This game has its origins in the Japanese game market. It was produced only for 6 months for the us market by Sony. Why for only 6 months i don't know. It is easier to find in the NTSC/J format along with it's sequil. The premis of this game is a fast paced puzzle environment. It really tests your wits. In a way it could be described as a scrolling rubix cube game for your playstation. It even gives your mock I.Q. at the end. Hence the name Intelligent *Q*ube not Cube. Look for this game on Amazon zshops or auctions and be prepared to pay at least some money. You won't want to let this game go once you have a copy.

It was a great game because it was so addicting and challenging --yet simplistic and in the realm of its own in terms of the game world.

However, please. I was looking at the prices listed for this product and if one is hunting for a good deal, the ones you'll find on Amazon is your best bet because there are some interesting sellers on E-Bay that really think you'll pay nearly 100.00 for a PS-1 game. I mean really folks. A PS-1 game? The PS-1 system doesn't even sell as much as this game is trying to be sold for! Yeah... I mean...true it was a good game but then so is Monopoly and Battleship but you don't see people shelling out 80.00 to 100.00 for em!

Wow. Talk about gouging.

Sure these look great compared to the drab white or black controllers; however, the screwdriver included with the kit doesn't work very well and easily strips the screws...(be carefull). Have had mine in place for about 6 months and like them. Be warned also that the finish does wear of with usage... heavy gamer myself and the chrome finishes started to wear off to a white spot in about 2 months.

Let me tell you a little secret:I never finished half life on the PC.I know it's sacrilegious, but hey,it was the fall of 1998,and my consoles were calling to me with stuff like Xelda and Metal Gear Solid. Now,revisiting HL on the PS2,i'm reminded of just how amazing this game is.Although it's looking a little outdated in the graphics department {even with the upgraded PS2 visuals}, HL can still hold its own against prettier newcomers like Red Faction. The saving grace here isn't how good the story is {it's rather cliche actually},but rather how well it unfolds in the context of the game. You're never at a loss for where to go next.Sure, the lecels are ultimately linear in design,But none of the areas feel contrived or unnatural. It's also one of those games loaded with a ton of cool moments.Trust me,no amount of hyperbole on my part can prepare you for the shiver inducing stuff you'll see in some of the later levels.Believe it,HL's single player experience is unrivaled. In multiplayer, however ,HL is a disappointment.Decay, the two player co op mode is too short, and with its head to head and weapon modelsin two player head to head and weapon models in two player splitscreen only further hampers the deathmatch experience.Despite these heart breaking shortcomings,i can honestly say i had more fun playing HL on the PS2 this month than i ever did on my PC three years ago.And yes,i finished it this time.

My brother works for Valve software (the people who made Half-Life) and I got to test this item myself. This is the best game for the Playstation 2 so far I would say. The controls are remarcable compared to the PC version. But, if you liked the original controls with the keyboard and the mouse, you'll love this. Half-Life supportes the USB ports. So hook up your mouse and keyboard and get playing!

The graphics are also stunning on this game. They are enhanced very much from the PC version. And, if your concerned about the framerate, no fear, it runs as smooth as silk.

There's also a multi-player mode and a co-op mode on Half-life, so you can compete against your friends in a deathmatch, or try and get place back to normal by fighting side-by-side.

I gave this a 5/5 because... IT'S THE BEST FREAKIN' GAME FOR THE PS2 YET!!! If you liked the original, you'll love this one. With totally revised graphics, and new multi-player mode, this is a must buy for the playstation 2.

(there's also a rumor around valve about online play)

Keep in mind I'm writing this review from the perspective of somebody that played the game in the last six months, and not when it first came out. Back then first person shooters (FPS) weren't all the deep in the story department and most of the time players just saw the "storyline" as something getting in the way of shooting anything that moves Half Life came onto the scene with radically new thinking on several fronts.

The biggest one was intelligent enemies. There was more artificial intelligence put into your opponents so as they didn't just run up to you and attack like the monsters from Doom and Quake. They took cover, laid suppressing fire, tried sneaking around you, and all other sorts of tactics. Back in 1998 you didn't much of that in a first person shooter.

The second innovation is more what the fanboys say about the game rather than the truth, and that's a storyline. Indeed Half Life had a plot that you followed throughout the game that made shooting the bad have a little more depth, however it wasn't all that. Games like the System Shock series and Thief already gave you superior FPS storylines. Half Life was just the popular one.

And that's where we come to how this game stacks in the new millenium. I played it on PC back in 1998 up to a point, but never finished. I ended up finishing the game with the PS2 version. That plotline only takes you so far as much of the action in middle gets extremely tedious. If you don't mind just shooting and solving jump puzzles without much story to inspire then I guess that's not big deal. However these days more engaging plots on FPS games is the norm.

Gameplay is pretty good for a console FPS. The target lock system helps make up for the lack of the keyboard/mouse configuration and the rest of the controls fit fine with the PS2 controller. The graphics are supposed to be enhanced, but I couldn't see all that much of a difference from the original Half Life game set to high resolution on the characters. I believe the bitmaps for the walls, skies and such is where the major graphic improvements were. Either way the graphics are indeed dated.

In the end Half Life was a good game to play for the most part. Only there were some very long stretches where I wished the game would just end already due to lack of any depth beyond getting past the level. The "wow" ending left me a bit underwhelmed after all those boring levels (again you're talking to someone who played it recently... I bet back in the day it was awesome).

What's the verdict? If you can find it cheap by all means get the game and experience the highs (and lows). I hear this game is being redone with the new HL2 engine, so at that point I would say it's up to you regarding a revisit when this happens? As for me I don't regret paying the $10 finding out what was good and bad about this game.

Honest reviews on Half-Life

Half-Life is certainly a good FPS title for the PS2. It's very reminiscent of Voyager Elite Force or Red Faction. You play the game as Gordon Freeman, a scientist in a secret research facility. Something goes horribly wrong and a portal to an alien world is opened up and you find yourself battling a variety of alien monsters and even government soldiers sent to kill you and cover the whole thing up. In the end, you will travel to the alien world for the final showdown.

Overall the game is a good game with decent graphics and sound. It has a "save at any point" feature which greatly enhances the playablity. The game plays basically as a continuous "movie" with few cutscenes and fairly decent loading times. The control scheme is almost identical to one used in Voyage Elite Force, however you have to learn that your weapon does not necessariy aim where you're looking.

I enjoyed the game and found it addicting, however I began to tire of it in the final missions. This game is longer than most recent releases, and even on the easy level, I found it to be pretty difficult, especially in the later stages. While most of the game involves fighting enemies, a fair amount of your time is spent solving puzzles and in the end, it became more about making tedious jumps rather than fighting aliens. After awhile, jumping from point A to point B gets a little tiresome.

This an enjoyable game worth the investment but be advised that it can get tiresome before you finish. The game is better than 3 stars but in my mind, maybe not completely deserving of the 4 star rating, primarily because of the "tedious" factor.

OK, I'll begin by saying I own all game systems. N64, PS2, X-Box, Dreamcast, and Game cube. I've played every FPS game released (I know, sad huh....) and I concider myself an authority in this arena. That said, Half-Life is the current game in my PS2 console. I had never played the PC version so I didn't know what to expect. I went through the in-game training and then began with DECAY. The co-op play was fun. What I found kinda cool is that you can play the co-op version by yourself.(One controler, switching back and forth between player 1 and 2. ) AI keeps the non-user alive and even helpful during battles but you have to advance BOTH players. Play it, you'll see what I mean. Although DECAY was kinda short, 12 levels, A grading system offers bonus levels if you do well. DECAY gets 3 stars.

The Main game is where the real action is. The levels are long and progressivly more difficult. The lock-aim feature is invaluble. AI is incredible. Fighting both aliens and humans keeps the game alive and the sound, WOW. The story line is one of the best I've played and the weapons are easy to use. I also enjoyed having to solve the mind puzzles along the way. Not puzzles really but more like "how the hell do I do this....."

So, why is it no HALO ? Well, if you have to ask, you have never played HALO before. For starters, The communication voice often gets lost in the music and action noise leaving you wondering what it is you need to do. Not that you have to stop and restart mind you, the game is linier in nature so eventually you'll figure out what it is you missed. Next, the loading pauses take place too often for my taste. It slows the game. The graphics are less than should be expected for todays PS2 games but still very detailed. Even with these minor things, the game was addicting. Don't turn it on if you only have an hour to play, you'll be late to where ever you need to be.

Oh, and one other thing.....go play HALO. Did I mention HALO?

Wreckless

Recommending Wreckess poses a dilemma. There are so many things about the game that are good, most specifically those things surrounding the graphics. Wreckless contains a beautiful and detailed Hong Kong cityscape and is chock full of special effects. After a mission you can watch a replay that is stunningly realistic. The game is also easy to pick up and lots of fun to play.

So what's the problem? Unfortunately, this is not a game that will grip you for hours. After the pretty graphics and the novelty of smashing everything in sight wear off, you find the gameplay has little substance. Drive around, smash stuff, drive around some more, etc. Don't get me wrong, the game can be great fun, but only as something you pick up every once in a while when you want a quick and fast-paced game. Don't hesitate to buy Wreckless up if you can get it at a discount. Otherwise, you might want to try a rental first.

One last thing that should be mentioned. This game is based in Hong-Kong, so vehicles drive on the wrong (i.e., left) side of the road. This means that when you start, you will find that your natural inclinations meet you head on with a lot of traffic. In order to be able to complete more advanced levels, you have to learn to get in and stay driving in the left lane.

I was hyped up! The back of the disc case showed quite promising graphics. I went to the video store...rented it...put it in...and-------> :-O (What have I done!)

The intro scenes of this game, Wreckless, reminds me of Dragon Balls..or one of those Japanese cartoons & animation. Sure, they are neat, but not into it. They tried to make it a bit comic, but I only found it quite cheesy.

Ok...about the game itself. I would have to point out the graphics are quite impressive, quite detailed...of the city streets, buildings, and signs. There is also quite a bit of traffic too, unlike games like GTA 3 of Vice City, there are barely any cars on the road for a city of a few million. However, it does get annoying at times (in Wreckless) when you are trying to finish your missions, often running into other cars in a 2-lane street.

However, I am GREATLY disappointed with the car physical damage effects in this game (eventhough the car modelling is quite good and realistic). They are beyond terrible. It is funny thinking back how the video game salesman told me how great this game is, and how it has one of the greatest car damage effects out of all games in PS2. BS! You can rear-end or hit the opponents' cars at full speed, you still don't see a damage on them. After a few hits, however, you will see the windows crack (eventhough there is not 1 scratch or dent on the body). Unfortunately, it was so unsuccessfully made that it just looks like a bunch of spider webs or simply fixed curvy crossed-lines. Oh, and I suppose when you hit them from behind, not only the rear glass will crack, mysteriously, the FRONT AND THE SIDE windows will also do the same...with the same patterns too. And the next damage it will show is the whole car being blown up...and disappears after a few seconds. I would recommend GRAND THEFT AUTO 3 & VICE CITY...or even STUNTMAN for better car damage graphics. However, if you run your car through markets, stands, and fences, it is not only quite realistic, it is also fun.

The gameplay...BORING. I finished a few missions/levels... but I felt no sense of achievements. I didn't have the motivation for continuation. Therefore, I returned it. Overall, the gameplay is dull and boring (pretty much just ramming opponents' cars with almost no physical damage..until it all of a sudden blows up). It holds very little interests.

Overall WRECKLESS

Car damage effects: 1/5

Graphics: 4/5

Gameplay: 2/5

for the first five minuts the distruction is cool but then it gets really r haven't unlocked free roam, however, just playing the missions, it doesn't seem like free roam could be all that fun. there . simply wouldn't be anything to do. even running over people is really [bad] in this game they just kind of fall dopwn and then get back up again. as for the objects, it is like Spyhunter whewre there is that arangement of [stuff] you can go through and they kind of just sorta of sink onto the ground. the gameplay is fairly fun though, and the graphics are really good-exept for the horid frame rate! ... asa for the shuting part, it is lame and doesn;t reallyh make the game better.

I think I will sell it and get burnout; maby that will be better. after that I will save up for "The Getaway'...

I work in software and understand the need to improve and add enhancements. However, morphing a winning formula into something else just because the competition is doing it isn't the way to keep loyal customers who like the product because of the way it was.

The bells and whistles added to this version of the game don't enhance it much. It seems more like an arcade game now, or the old Doom or Wolfenstein shooters than the old GR we came to know and love. I guess they are following the trend to first person shooters and away from the game concepts that made the game so great in the early versions. What happened to unlocking new weapons for friend and foe alike? What happened to assigning attributes to characters? The best way to retain interest in a game is not by making it difficult.

I would not purchase this game again.

I was excited to see this game because my two year old son is crazy about cowboys and bull riding. I never thought about him playing it, but I thought he might like watching me play it. I bought it on a whim, ans since have not seen any relevant reviews of it. While fun for a while, it lacks lasting appeal.

The premise is simple: as a cowboy you need to ride the bull, and as the bull you need to buck off the cowboy. Controls are a combination of wii remote motion, using the joystick on the nunchuk, and pressing a few buttons. To ride a bull, you counteract the bull's motions using the nunchuk. This could easily have been done on a d-pad, or even better it could have been using motions. To really get the full effect of the game, you really need to have it on the hard level using the advanced controls. As for playing as the bull, your bucking is done mainly through moving the wii remote and pushing a few buttons. There is a tutorial mode that will walk you through the controls, but there were a couple of moves that I had a very hard time performing

In easy mode you are just about guaranteed to ride without even pushing a button. Basically, as long as I didn't hit the "spur" button, I stayed on the bull. Being the bull was tougher to me, and I was not really able to get the hang of the controls.

The Season mode consists of 10 events plus the Finals. There is also a mode were you ride for as long as you can. You can also do a quick ride. There is a two player mode where on person plays the cowboy and the other plays the bull, but I don't see that as a major selling point.

Also, you don't really "create" your own cowboy or bull, you just tag one of the existing ones as yours for the sake of saving games.

One very odd feature is the rewards. You have to unlock Adriano Moraes and Ty Murray, plus a couple of bulls. There are also some videos of a rodeo clown that you unlock, but they are pointless and nto really funny. You can also unlock some music tracks, which is also pointless.

Graphics in game leave a lot to be desired. I mean, there not a lot going on here so you would thing more attention would have been placed on the graphic details. Stadiums look very simalar, except for a few decorations. The bulls' movements are not very fluid. There is a long, useless video preceding the finals. The camera angles are odd at times, especially after the ride.

Bottom line, if you are a fan of the PBR you finally have a console game of your favorite sport. You will see riders and bulls that you recognize. If you are not a big fan of the PBR or bull riding in general, do no even waste your money. There is very little to keep you playing for long. The simple novelty of the game wears out after a while.

I got this for my almost 8 year old boy who is a rodeo fan. You can play this game as the buckaroo or as the bull and even play against each other. They have a tutorial before the game starts and I highly recommend taking it so that you understand how to get the most out of the game. For example, you push the joystick up or down to get a better grip push a button to spur, push another to slow down the action, etc. When I am playing a fast paced game it's hard to remember which button does what. It's definitely easier to be the rider than to be the bull. When I am the bull, I can't buck that darn rider off and they end up with a ridiculous 3 minute ride. It's fun, but takes a while to figure out.

Best Deals for PBR: Out of the Chute - Nintendo Wii

I got the game and it is fun but I am having trouble with the dismount. The book says to push the 1 button when you go to get off and then again right before you hit the ground. The tutorial in the game says you swing the remote up for rider to come off then swing down right before you hit the ground. Well with me neither way works I always end up on my butt. If I could figure out how to get off the bull corectly it would be more fun I think. I also have a little trouble with keeping rider balanced enough so I can spur to get extra points but I just got it so I am still working on that. Over all it is a good game just needs to get the kinks worked out of it and hopefully it is kinks on my end and not the games.

Honest reviews on PBR: Out of the Chute - Nintendo Wii

I purchased this game for my husband who is a huge PBR fan. He has played it one time and the rest of the family now refuses to allow him to play it ever again (and he doesn't protest). It is boring and he beat the entire game in about an hour. It might be a little more fun if you have more than one person playing (one playing the bull while the other plays the cowboy), but I seriously doubt it.

To begin with, theres a huge amount of unlockable content in this game. You will be unlocking new costumes, characters, weapons and things every single day you play... for weeks!

This is an awesome addition to fighting games, which i feel lose their replayability too quick.

The new content adds a lot to an already jam packed game.

Theres 30 characters to take through story mode and theres a giant strategy/fighting side game called chronicles of the sword. This side game took me 12 hours to get through. Thats a pretty decent chunk for a side game.

Theres also a decent amount of fun little games in the mode called Soul Arena though some of the games are a bit too difficult.

The thing that seems a little screwy in this game and is its biggest flaw is its AI. This game has no difficulty adjuster so the game is always locked in the same difficulty. The AI is extremely smart, or cheap, and can string together fast moves and reactions that a human opponent cant. Its extremely lame to lose 75% of your life bar to one string of cheap attacks by the computer.

But strangely, even though the computer AI is very good and cheap, there are some basic moves which the computer just cannot block. Want to beat the game without losing a single battle? Pick Sophitia and just keep pressing triangle.

Its very lame that the computer will block and dodge the most advanced tactics but cannot block the most basic move. Its funny to see the hidden final boss, Night Terror, get beat with the most basic attack in the game.

While this game is boatloads of fun and an awesome fighter, it still isnt without a few flaws because of its strange and unbalanced AI. And thats what makes it 4 stars, and not a perfect 5 in my books.

Soul Calibur III is the latest release in a great line of fighting games. The graphics are really impressive, and the character customization adds a great new dimension to fighting gameplay.

There are whole complex back-stories to all of the characters, developed over the game series. You can go into the 'museum' in this game to learn all about that, if you haven't been keeping up with the series. That will help you really understand the interactions between the characters. It's like being a part of a complex, epic story.

The graphics are simply gorgeous. There are pirate ships, where the floor moves and sways beneath you. There are elegant Chinese temples with mosaic tile floors and lovely mountains in the background. You've got renaissance mansions in flames, cages in grimy port towns, and much more. Each environment has moving elements to add to the realism.

The sounds are pretty traditional. Most of it is BASH SMASH YAAAAH! along with the background music, themed to match the environment. I do love this kind of background music far better than games that have rock music.

Gameplay itself has good and bad points. On the good side, there are a GREAT combinations you can learn for your character, so if you are diligent you can come up with awesome fighting sequences. You can learn which combos match well against your enemy's weaknesses and exploit them. On the other hand, if you're more the type that likes to button mash, you can have a fair amount of success with that, although you will get frustrated in the higher level battles.

The game is marked for teens, although it's far more tame than other fighting games I've seen. Many of the females *gasp* actually wear clothing. There really isn't any blood involved in the combat, although some parents argue that little tykes shouldn't see swinging swords and flails at all. There's no swearing.

That being said, the game is fairly challenging, and unlike the previous game, there's no way to set the difficulty up or down. If you play one on one you can adjust the difficulty so the younger person can have an easier time, but for regular gameplay you're stuck with "hard". I find this to be a shame. While experienced players will get along OK, it really would've been nice for new players to have an 'easy' option to go through the game in, to learn the game and have fun. They could always have upgraded through 'normal' and 'hard' later on.

With the customizeable characters and multitude of opponents, you can really replay this game for months without getting bored with it. There are always new combinations to learn and perfect. Well recommended!

Soul Caliber 3 Circa 2005

GOOD:

Good/Tight controls

Really balanced gameplay

Lots of different and unique fighters

Minutes to learn years to master gameplay

Literally TONS content to unlock such as new Fighters, costume pieces, stages, and extra modes of play

A 3D fighting game that really uses the 3D space (with eight way run)

Three all new characters

All returning characters from Soul Caliber 1 and 2 have their move sets/styles upgraded and slightly changed (in most case for the better)

A nice upgrade over the original Soul Caliber 2, which to many gamers is considered classic

Build your own unique characters

Lots of different modes of play from an arcade type mode to the real time strategy mode

Considered an Instant classic to many fans and many hardcore fighting fanatics

BAD:

Some might say that not much has changed (gameplay wise) since Soul Caliber 2

Have to unlock most of the game content like fighters, stages and items through many different modes of play, which takes time and skill (some people do not have either)

Slight lagging in a few areas

Loading is short but present and when buying items or checking out new content it can be annoying

Saving the game (which happens often while trying to unlock new content) takes a bit of time also

IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE:

Has medieval theme, both European and Chinese/Japanese

Not traditional fighting game in the sense that there is no real combos and supers, or even projectile moves

Game has built in quest type mode, where you pick a fighter and complete a number of challenges in a type of semi arcade mode (with story), the end result is you unlock more content and are a better player

Fight with weapons, like a 3D Samurai Showdown type of game or a Tekken/Dead or Alive with weapons

Build your own unique characters (pretty much costume only, you pick a pre-set fighting style) and fight with them in versus modes and Chronicles of the Sword mode, (Lots of the new items and costume parts should be unlock to really get a better selection of costume accessories, not much to pick at default)

New different modes of play like Chronicles of the Sword mode you fight in a type of real time strategy game (using your custom character) which plays out like a tactic game when instead of turn based battling it's fighting game battling, then there is even a World Tour mode where you fight in mock tournaments

Lots and lots of stuff to unlock from new fighters to new costume items for your custom character

GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:

Soul Caliber 2

Tekken 5

Samurai Showdown

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

This game is only for Sony's Playstation 2 unlike Soul Caliber 2 which was also for Xbox and Game Cube, note you can still get Soul Caliber 2 for a pretty cheap price and it's a also a great game

This game came with a pretty lame demo disc, which in my opinion neither adds nor takes away anything from the entire over all experience of Soul Caliber 3, although it should be noted that this demo disc has all unlocked content for Tekken Tag, Tekken 4 and Xenosaga (the original)

I am going wish that a version comes to Xbox-360, which would be cool :: Crossing Fingers Now ::

Honest reviews on Soulcalibur 3 - PlayStation 2

SCIII is a very entertaining action/fighting game. The variety of characters and their wide array of battle moves are impressive. Each of the characters possess weapons that have their own peculiarities and specialties. As a result, even though the settings are recycled over and over, you will still be able to fight repeatedly without getting bored. You can use different characters each time you play the game. My advise here is to become competent using one character before moving on to using another. The number of possible attack moves per character ensures that you will always have something to learn. To me, the best feature of this game is that you can also create your own characters and dress them up the way you would like to. The attacks available to your created characters will be determined by the type of weapon they carry.

The one aspect of the game that kept me from giving it a higher score is the fact that the battle program is inconsistent. I agree with some of the comments stating that this is a challenging game. However, there is nothing wrong with that. A challenging game is fun and you get a feeling of accomplishment when you finally make progress. But you do want the game to be consistent. You do want the game to challenge you and force you to master moves. However, the problem with this game is that this idea is applied inconsistently throughout the battles. To use a particular example, let's talk about Talim. I first used Siegfried to fight Talim. I was landing heavy blows, they were connecting, and my button presses were timed properly. Siegfried was executing his moves properly. I was "chaining" attack after attack. Talim was stunned and was taking a lot of punishment. Yet, she would not go down. And then Talim lands one kick and one swipe and the next thing you know, Siegfried was knocked out! I have beaten Talim numerous times, in different modes, using Siegfried, Raphael, Ivy, and my own character. During those many battles, I noticed the inconsistency. It seemed to me like the game responds slowly during some battles, like there was a built-in lag in the battle system. I noticed this when fighting against Talim and Sheong-Mina. My characters were moving and behaving like they were in slow-motion against them. However, they respond and react normally when playing other enemies. It's almost like the game developers chose them to be the favored characters and added a built-in disadvantage to your player. It really isn't the fact that the game is indeed challenging, it's the fact that you are automatically at an unfair disadvantage against these two characters.

I wanted to make sure that I have the right moves and that there was nothing that I was doing to handicap myself. I consulted an online guide. I also bought the Strategy Guide. Following the advice from those sources, I used the suggested moves to keep Talim from getting close. Again, the fact that my character became sluggish against Talim made this difficult. The strategy is sound. Keep a short range enemy at a distance, and use your superior "reach" to do damage. The lag between my commands and the system's response kept me from accomplishing my strategy.

This is a fun game. However, heed what some of the reviewers are saying about the battle system, or AI as one reviewer mentioned. There is that inconsistency, which is almost like a system "cheat". I have a feeling that this is what the other reviewers meant when they said that there is something wrong with the battle system. As much as I like the game, I find that one aspect to be a big negative.

The game allows you to create your own custom fighter. You can actually create a fighter that looks exactly like KOS-MOS (the main character from the Xenosaga RPG series) by using the Type X armor.

I've been a fan of this series ever since I went out to buy a Dreamcast for the sole purpose of playing the first Soul Calibur at home. When SC3 came out, I bought it as soon as I could without a second thought. Unfortunately, this was the first time I was disappointed with the series.

In many ways, Soul Calibur III continues the legacy of the previous titles while adding some innovative gameplay elements and a few new characters to the ever-expanding list. The single player story mode continues the ongoing storyline in a more dynamic fashion than in the past, and the Chronicles of the Sword battle-style mode is a refreshing addition to fighting games. The custom-made character option doesn't add huge variety to game play, but is a lot of fun to tinker with. In fact, I love every addition they've made to the game.

The disappointment stems from a single fact: I am not a hardcore fighting gamer, nor will I ever be. I simply don't have the time or inclination to practice long strings of moves and combos. The other thing that attracted me to the previous games was the scaling level of complexity that made it so I didn't have to. There was a lot of richness and complexity to the game play to play around with, but for those who didn't have the patience to master it there was still the option of playing at a low difficulty setting so as to enjoy the ongoing story and theme of the game. This richness and complexity hasn't gone anywhere the hallmark style of play is still very similar to its predecessors.

Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, they decided to remove difficulty settings from the single player game modes entirely. Not only that, but the standard difficulty setting ends up falling quite a bit higher than what I like to play at. I have not had a single game session since buying it that did not end in bitter frustration at my inability to get anywhere with the late-stage CPU foes. The final fight for the story mode invariably reveals a CPU that can flawlessly pull off a half dozen hits with no chance of blocking or avoiding unless you manage to block the first hit with perfect timing.

I'm sure there are a lot of folks out there who work perfectly well at this difficulty setting and enjoy the challenge of the new system. If you are not the type that likes spending time practicing moves and perfecting combos to plow through the game, though, I can't recommend SC3 at all. All of its technical achievements and interesting innovations can't make up for the fact that it's simply not fun for a casual gamer to play.

This game can't hold a candle to the original dead to rights. DtR1 had a story. This one has none. Dtr1 had crazy and imaginative boss fights. This one has none. The bosses here are simply dudes with a very long life bar. The original had interesting and varied settings. Forget about it now. In Dtr1, Jack Slate is a likeable character. In this one, you feel like a psycho. Even the dog worked better in the first game. In this one, you're never sure if he will obey even when his meter is full. The guys who made dtr1 had a lot of imagination. The new game is completely deprived of any original idea, setting, everything.

As for human shields, in the new game, the game decides for you when to get rid of the hostage, if you're not quick enough to dispatch him. Lame.

Don't buy at all costs. A rental will definitely do for anyone. The only good thing I can say about this game is that the bullet time is improved.

This game was offered as 'most ppl order thesse together'. Well.. as I had come to Amazon to only order the original game, "Dead to Rights". Learning that there was a version 2 was a pleasant surprise. I was ordering this for my brother whom had no idea the game had a version 2. Imagine a disabled man, one whom has extrodinarily great attitude, red hair and a smile that brights up anyones day. Btw, bro plays the games using his right knee and left hand on the controller. Now imagine my bro's surprise at getting not only the disk he wanted, but also a disk he did not know had been made. WOW the house dang near turned neon bright with the happiness this gave. This game is still wrapped up in original plastic, as he wants to finish the first version first. But there is something that imo is very important.

We ordered these games from IGEX Electronics. I placed the order just after 2pm central time, with 2 day shipping chosen. We received the games the very next day when UPS arrived at 6:10 pm. I am sure that i did not choose next day shipping. The games were shipped together with ups air mail as per tracking. I was in awe of getting bro's huge thanks the next day.. but that should be shared with the seller. And so.. now I am doing that publically. Thank you IGEX Electronics. Your work at getting these games out asap made my bro a very happy man. Please pass on his joy and thanks to your staff.

Honest reviews on Dead To Rights II - PlayStation 2

I loved the first dead to right, I'm not to privy to the first person perspective (I mean I like Doom well Hell I love it! and have many discs of it), but being around when the ATARI 2600 was new (I actually predate that by a number of years) I have grown accustomed to the third person perspective, and thank God Dead to Rights stayed with that trend. Once again it's your job to make Grant City safe from corruption and crime. It's great!
