If you enjoy cardio boxing and want to work up a sweat, then this Wii game is for you. After doing the basic lessons and moving on to the regular ones for only a couple of hours my arms and shoulders feel like I can't lift them anymore. I'm pretty sure I'll be sore tomorrow morning.
This is basically a cardio boxing game. The rest of the exercises are short games and workouts that are unlocked as you progress through boxing exercises. It looks like there are 6 regular ones and 4 that use the balance board. This is the extent of the balance board usage. None of the boxing exercises use the balance board. This is a little disappointing, but since you can't jump on the balance board it would be a little difficult to do the boxing footwork which is bouncy, without damaging the board. Still, I thought the description of the game was a little misleading since the use of the balance board is limited to leg raises, push ups and a couple exercises that are already included with the Wii Fit.
Still, I think this is a good addition to my Wii Exercise list because it's engaging and holds my interest and I like games where I can build up the score and compete against my past scores. Here are a list of the pros and cons that I've discovered so far:
Pros:
Choice of music. There are several different music choices that you can preview and play during your workouts.
Choice of settings. You can choose a gym, forest or seaside setting.
Lots of movement and easy to understand instructions.
You acquire points which you can use to buy things at the gym store, like different outfits.
You can pick your trainer (male or female) and there are several different training levels so you can play according to your abilities at a pace that is good for you.
Great response time on the controls and great sounds. "Pow! Crunch! Wham!" The movements and clicks of the Wiimote register right on. You can also click through scenery pans and other peripheral scenes to speed the game. (Thank you, UBI Soft!)
Cons:
The graphics are a little ragged on an HD TV with component cables and 480p settings. Wii HD Link Component Cable
They are also a little simplistic compared to other Wii games, not bad, just simplistic.
The balance board is used in only 4 of the side workouts, not in the main cardio boxing.
All in all, I still think it's a good addition to my Wii workout collection and it's one that's fun enough that it'll get used often. It's good arm and shoulder exercise that will compliment my We Cheer Wii game and a good way to work up a sweat without getting bored.
After initial "registration", you choose your trainer, either Alex or Nina. Other trainers are unlocked as you progress. (I just unlocked Brenda.) Each day, you have a choice of doing a prepared workout or an ala carte workout. After the prepared workout, you get to leave a punch stamp on the calendar, indicating that you've completed that day's workout. There are Boxing Examinations you can take to test yourself.
As of yet, I haven't noticed the scale feature and I had to enter my weight manually when I first set up my profile. All in all, it's a great workoutmore interesting and interactive than Wii Fit (which I still love). I was sweating after about 5 minutes, and I'm STILL sore from my first workout! There's less jumping and hopping around than My Fitness Coach, which, with my bad knees, is a big plus. I look forward to unlocking more of the features of this game!
Update: 4/12/09I've unlocked a couple of the "Special" workouts in the Shape Boxing, but only done Dodging, which is really tricky because you have to throw punches at the same time! I've unlocked all the locked excercises in Exercise and they are "Roadwork" (running & boxing a bear that crosses your path), "Sandbag" (punching 10 sandbangs in the allotted 3 minutes), "Log Chopping" (using the remote to saw through a log in 3 minutes), and "Jump Rope". I've unlocked another trainer named Bob, who looks like the BIGGEST guy on Muscle Beach, and a two new outfits for the trainer I've chosen (Brenda), as well as a few new items that were given to me for reaching a X amount of punches. I'm still loving this game and have lost about 4 lbs since I've been playing it (along w/Weight Watchers). It's not hard on my bad knees and I feel the burn where I should.
I review Wii games on YouTube. If you want to see more of my reviews go to youtube.com/wiiviewr.
Can't say that for this "game." I've worked out every day, and look forward to getting on it first thing in the morning. I do the prepared workout, and every other day will supplement it with some a la carte shape boxing or exercises. I like my trainer, and the little rewards are nice eggs to work toward.
I drip like a sieve, and my muscles are sore. That's a good thing.
I like that you can pick three different levels in the prepared work out (light, regular, hardcore), or just do a la carte if you want more or less.
However (and there's always a however), there are some flaws.
1) Not everything registers. Be it squats, upper cuts, ducks, or dodges, sometimes you have to REALLY exaggerate your movements to get it to register. It's very frustrating to throw an uppercut and nothing happens, or to throw a punch and it registers a duck simultaneously when you're doing ducking combos.
2) As noted by others, it doesn't weigh you. Missed opportunity there by Ubisoft.
3) The English translations on screen ain't such be good done right. ;)
4) On the sandbag exercise, it's too easy to knock the bags out in 45 seconds. I haven't unlocked all of the elements of the game yet, so I'm hoping there's a "free" mode where you can do the side exercises for as long as you like.
5) Sometimes it doesn't register the "up" on squats. You have to really "bounce" (again, exaggerating motions) to get it to register, which takes away from the work out intent. I don't want to exaggerate my motions; I just want to work out and get my sweat on.
6) The "training" mode on the side exercises should be the default, and you unlock the "challenge" mode. Seems silly to challenge someone who hasn't even trained yet.
7) After a prepared work out routine, my trainer tells me that I really kicked butt (nice encouragement) and that I should try a harder work out next time. Um. You picked the work out, Alex, not me. Why don't YOU try a harder work out next time. Maybe in time it will get more difficult (although I'm not complaining. It's working me out as is!).
I know these sound like a lot of gripes, but they are minor compared to the overall positive impression of this game. It's a good work out, and I'm really enjoying myself. Beats a membership to one of the shape boxing gyms that are popping up all over the place. Seems to be ahead of that trend a bit, and is something you can do at home at your convenience.
For myself I enjoyed the cardio boxing and I intend to use it as often as time allows. I was able to work up quite a sweat from it and I'm in pretty good shape to begin iwth.
They should have called it cardio boxing or something similar. In that case I would have judge it for what it is.
If you like cardio boxing and are looking for a different and fun workout, give this title a shot, but don't be fooled into thinking you are getting something you are not.
I have to admit when using two controllers, the boxing is challenging and fun. The boxing tips are authentic and I would even suggest this to amateur boxers or martial artists looking to hone their reflexes.

I actually got my copy a couple of days before it was supposed to be released from a video game store. It's mostly cardio boxing, although there are other exercises including Punch Dog, reverse sit-ups, back strengthening and squats that utilize the balance board. There are 4 other exercises that have to be unlocked as you progress through the game. (I just unlocked Jump Rope today, on my 4th day.) Gold points are earned to be spent in the Shop on gear, and additional items go on sale as you go.After initial "registration", you choose your trainer, either Alex or Nina. I've had this for a month now, and I have to say I've really enjoyed myself. I got bored with the Wii Fit within a few weeks; my biggest complaint that other than the Hula Hoop, nothing really gave me a good workout. Can't say that for this "game." Got it today and it may be considered too soon to give a fair review, but truth be told I've been duped. I was expecting a well rounded cardio workout but from start up you have to focus on boxing. Don't get me wrong, if they called it "Cardio Boxing" I would have understood, but I was hoping for something my wife and I can use. She has little or no interest in cardio boxing. For myself I enjoyed the cardio boxing and I intend to use it as often as time allows. I was able to work up quite a sweat from it and I'm in pretty good shape to begin iwth.

I'm not generally into fighting games, but I've been a casual Tekken fan since I played the second iteration on PlayStation. The series is far more than a button masher; it's known for instant accessibility, large move lists and fighter rosters, demanding combos, well-balanced and memorable characters, a huge variety of fighting styles, catchy music, and a quirky "story" that doesn't take itself seriously. It's not known for invention, and there's hardly anything new to be found in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. But perhaps that's ok since the developers stuck with what they knew and created the best Tekken experience to date.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 bosts a roster of over 50 fighters, and additional characters are available as free DLC. Surprisingly, every character and game mode is available to you right from the start.
At first glance the number of modes and options is staggering. You'll find:
Online Mode
-Ranked Match
-Player Match
-World Arena
-Team
-Tekken Channel
-Leaderboards
Offline Mode
-Arcade Battle
-Ghost Battle
-Vs Battle
-Team Battle
-Time Attack
-Survival
-Practice
-Pair Play

Unless you're a hardcore fighter, you'll be spending most of your time offline. Arcade Battle gets stale fast; it's a 9 or 10 match story mode that allows you to unlock characters' ending movies and earn money with which you can purchase character customizations. This doesn't sound so bad, except that the final battle is unfairly difficult on the easiest setting (which will frustrate amateurs), there's no option to continue with your current character(s) when you die (you can continue, but you'll be taken back to the character select screen every time), the matches do not change based on the characters you use like in previous Tekken games, and you can earn unlockables much faster by playing Ghost Battle. Ghost Battle lets players choose between three ranked matches and earn money or unlockables upon completion. You can exit after any battle, and this grind mode is oddly the meat of the single-player experience.
Once you get online, which takes an online pass included with new copies of the game and a significant amount of load time, you can host or join a Ranked Match (your statistics are saved in an online database and match wins upgrade your title or rank), an unranked Player Match (a practice mode that doesn't save your statistics), play in World Arena against others that live on your continent, or do a Team battle (a team can only be created or joined by going to the World Tekken Federation website). These modes are hard! You'll run into very talented players who will take you down fast, but it can be a welcome change to fighting the computer.
Fight Lab is a humorous five chapter minigame and tutorial that follows a character named Violet and his development of Combot, a robot trained to fight. You play as Combot and earn money to unlock new moves. It's not as unique as Tekken Ball, Tekken Force, Tekken Bowl, or Devil Within, but it is fun and challenging, plus you can use your move-customized Combot in other game modes! The downside is that this tutorial barely scratches the gameplay surface, and newcomers will finish the mode with far more questions than answers.
Customize lets you purchase and equip items and mods to your characters' appearances. Many of the options must first be unlocked, usually through Ghost Battle. There's a ton of variety here and frequently items have color customizations as well. Unfortunately items for sale that are the same across multiple characters must be purchased for each character individually, and saving up enough money to do so will take a long time. Loading times to view the items you want to purchase or equip are sadly quite long and items seem to be unlocked randomly and without specification (that is, you may be told you unlocked two items upon completion of a match but you won't be told exactly what the items are; you have to go into Customize and figure it out yourself). At least the character models and clothing options look fantastic.
Tekken Tunes allows you to change the audio for specific levels and loading screens. You can even add your own music to the game that's been saved on your Xbox. This is a good thing because so much of the new music is boring! I rarely find myself saying that about Tekken music, but it's really unmemorable this time around. To make matters better (or worse, depending), there is paid DLC that lets you purchase and use the music from previous Tekken games (that you have to pay extra for the content is unfortunate since game director Katsuhiro Harada claimed there would be no paid DLC if he had anything to do with it). Gallery simply lets you watch the typically short, hit-or-miss movies that you've unlocked. Newcomers will not understand many of the videos, but it's not such an issue since the movies that truly shine are the humorous ones that anyone can get. Prepare to be underwhelmed by the Mishima family cinematics, like those of Jinpachi, Kazuya, Jun, and Jin. Tiger Jackson, for reasons beyond me, is the only character without a movie (he's also one of two characters, along with Unknown, to lack unique outfit customizations). If you want to learn more about the fighters, you can watch the ending movies from the past games, but these also come in the form of paid DLC! Serioiusly, Namco? I get that you want to make more money, but what happened to the days of games that came packed with features from the beginning? And, more importantly, how do you expect to get newcomers interested in the game if the story doesn't make sense and the characters come across as personality-less brawlers? Releasing the videos as free unlockables would have made more sense.
Some final notes: level design is excellent with its colorful backgrounds and breakable walls/floors/balconies (though it's hard to explore given the game mechanics and quick nature of the battles), difficulty level seems meaningless once you start to level up your characters (ranking up happens naturally by playing the game and winning matches, and enemy difficulty seems to be based more on rank than on the difficulty setting), characters are exceptionally well-balanced, and tagging between characters is smooth and tremendously fun, especially when you pull off tag combos. This is one heck of a party game since two teams of two can play offline on one console.
In short, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 makes the original, which was a worthy fighter until now, obsolete, and it is the most solid Tekken game ever created. The music is disappointing, there are some long load times, Ghost Battle is a lackluster grind to unlock new items, the unlockables system is randomized and not intuitive, Arcade Battle is wasted potential, and the difficulty levels are questionable. But despite all of these things TTT2 is still one of the best fighters I have ever played for its fluid gameplay and sheer variety of characters, fighting styles, moves, and customizations. If you are new to Tekken or fighting games, however, this may not be the best place to start.
So for fans of the series or those just looking for a good fighting game here's a great series to start trying out or for those who already have the previous games another one to add to your gaming library.

This is a must have for any fan of the Tekken series as we now re-experience the thrill of tag team fighting. Overall the game isn't much different from Tekken 5 or six though this time you get the entertainment of hearing most of the characters speaking the language of their country rather then a few of them, meaning the character Lili speaks french rather then British and Leo speaks German rather then English and so on. The graphics of the game are somewhat superior to Tekken 6 but not overly much most times you'll notice more of the improvements in the background rather then the characters. As for the gameplay controls those obviously and thankfully have stayed the same so no worries about learning new buttons to pull off combos and the like.So for fans of the series or those just looking for a good fighting game here's a great series to start trying out or for those who already have the previous games another one to add to your gaming library.

Cheap Kakuto Chojin
Kakuto Chojin is a Microsoft game that tries to fill the many empty spots that X-Box has for fighting games. Is it successful in its attempt? Well, let me tell you the pros and cons of this game.
Let's start with the pros. The brightest star in this game is its really simple control scheme. You can pick up the game and start winning fights right away even if you are not used to playing fighting games. The graphic is decent it's nowhere near Virtua Fighter 4 in its quality, but it is pretty good in its own right. The color pallette used here is darker to fit the storyline. You have two meters combined, one is your energy and the other one is another meter which when full allows you to execute super moves.
Now its time to talk about the cons. This game is definitely no Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, or Dead or Alive in regards to graphics. The characters' moves are basically clones of Tekken and Virtua Fighter, especially the Capoera using character (like Christy Montiero and Eddy Gordo of Tekken) whose moves are almost exactly like those Tekken characters. Also, if you play a lot of fighting games, this game may be too easy for you, as many moves can be pulled off quite simply.
Right now the weakness of X-Box is in two categories: Fighting games and RPGs. This game is definitely not going to help the X-Box much in the fighting arena.
Definitely a rental if you're still interested in trying it out, but don't say I didn't warn you.
Anyway, I had her play the demo and she loved it. So we searched and found the game at a videogame store for a nice price(this was right after the recall notice). And we have been happily pleased ever since. We both play the game at least three times a week. The only way I can explain the critics of this is that these are people who have a LOT more experience with all kinds of fighting games. And maybe they didn't give this game as much of a chance as it needed.
Here are the the pros and cons:
PROS:
Great GraphicsThey characters look amazing and they move like real people. The fighters don't look cartoony but computer animated. They must haved used real people as models because they move eeriely lifelike. The backgrounds are beautifully rendered and colorful.
Great SoundI have a Surround Sound system that takes of advantage of the Dolby Digital 5.1 the game offers. Excellent!
Every character has their own theme and the voices and sound effets are well done.
Fun GameplayThe moves are not too hard to learn and there are more than explained in the manual that comes with the game. There are two sets of moves in the game; Kakuto and Chojin. You can't access the Chojin moves without first completing the game with any character with the Kakuto moves.
CharactersThere are plenty of characters all with different styles to master. And one secret character that is available when beating the game with any one of the characters.
CONS
The ManualAfter buying the game I bought the strategy guide offered by Prima. The guide does a great job of explaining the game, the characters and ALL of the moves. Each character has at least FOURTY moves. The manual that comes with the game does a terrible job of explaing the game. At best, it is incomplete.
No Onscreen Move ListAfter playing DOA 3,MK:DA and Tao Feng, I've noticed you can access a move list in the game. It's too bad KC doesn't do this. It would be more convienent.
Finally I just wanted to say this game is a lot of fun.We have played Dead Or Alive 3, Mortal Combat:Deadly Alliance and Tao Feng: Fist Of The Lotus and they are fun but in our opinion Kakuto Chojin just has more STYLE. It's pretty unique and the characters don't seem to be like any I've seen in any other game. This may be the game's downfall as far as public opinion goes. I may buy DOA 3 and Tao Feng in the future but Kakuto Chojin is my third favorite XBOX game behind Max Payne and Halo. Microsoft did a wonderful job. I hope they don't give up on the fighting game market. I can tell they are trying to be outside the pack by making KAkuto chojin and Tao Feng.
1. Unimpressed with the visuals of the game myself. You can't see them for the most part, because there is too much distance and too many items packed into the visuals.
2. The fighting scheme was pretty simple, attack high, attack low, and repeat -vary the pattern in an ad-hoc way to keep the AI off balance and victory!!
3. Multiplayer Whoop-a** session -A nice thought. Like a pass in a basketball game that looks innovative and shows creativity, but gets stolen so does the intent of the multiplayer mode. If you've played first person shooters like Halo (where you can melee some up close in personal) then you will have a time looking at the tiny characters go at it in a battle royal. It actually reminded me of someone adding a multiplayer deathmatch mode to Hunter: The Reckoning as the game is currently played.
Overall just unimpressed and thoroughly bored with the game.
Game development: (1) Need an ENGAGING story (2)Everything else gameplay, visuals, etc. need to be in the context of the story -period. Game developers are selling fantasies or illusions where the player wants to be the character for the time that he or she is playing the game.

My wife and I must be the only fans of this game. I first played it as a demo in XBOX Magazine and I liked it pretty well. I had just got my XBOX and I'm not an expert when it comes to fighting games. Now my wife on the other hand loves these kind of games. Whenever we pass by an arcade, she wants to play the fighting games. And she does well because she picks up the gameplay pretty quickly. It's always amusing to see her beat the eighteen or nineteen-year-old who plays the game for hours and she just figured out how to play.Anyway, I had her play the demo and she loved it. I have played fighting games for a long time and I am still playing this great game. This game is a steal .Honest reviews on Kakuto Chojin
If you have played fighting games before then this game is going to waste even your rental dollars.1. Unimpressed with the visuals of the game myself. You can't see them for the most part, because there is too much distance and too many items packed into the visuals.

First off, let me clear things up. I'm a fighter fan. I've played them all, and yes I consider myself an authority. When I'm not jamming out on Street Fighter, I'm playing some Neo Geo fighter that you've never heard of. Now let me say this: Kakuto is a fantastic, focused, and addictive 3D fighter. Alot of people like to say that this game is as deep as the kiddy pool, and that its all mash.. Thats total bull. If you want a masher, go play Tekken. This game has alot of neat features that reviewers always fail to mention. People should really play the ends and outs of a game before they start bashing and start throwing out 1 star ratings As you've probobly already read, the graphics are no joke. The characters are dark, creepy, and thick and are totally original. The same goes for the stages. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that its not all that great 1 player. You have no fancy story modes, no unlockables, blah, blah, who cares! Your supposed to play fighting game with friends anyway! I could go on and on about how cool this game really is, but I wont.. Forget all the haters and their reviews, this is the hottest new fighter to come out in a long time. Snatch it up while you still can.Friday, December 19, 2014
Review of Xbox 360 Official NFL San Diego Chargers Controller Faceplate
Being a huge SD Chargers fan, I am always looking for deals on my favorite team online. I came across this on Amazaon and ordered ASAP. I worried that it may get in the way of my gaming, inteference with buttons, but it doesn't. It fits perfectly and stays in place. I would definitely recommend you get one of your favorite team. Good luck LT, SD will always be your home!

Discount SPECIAL EDITION Xbox 360 GHOST CASE - SPEKTER CASE/HDMI/BLUE LIGHTS
I bought this and it was missing the t10 screwdriver and clear wind tunnel. I installed it anyway along with corexcm2 fans and the leds on the case burnt out. I was mad so i sent it back. Its a great case if it came with all the parts and didnt break.

Case came in good packaging. Double boxed and case parts wrapped in its own foam bag. Disassembly and reassembly is not very hard. As long as you follow the instructions on their website. Also note that only 2 drives are compatible with the 2 see through drive covers that are sent with the shell. Mine is a phillips drive and I since I bought the spekter color you cant see through it anyhow so no biggy on that. The leds are bright and look great. Note! the lights do not plug into the fan connection. They plug into the drive/mother board (with a replacment harness with the lights attached) Also they can be placed anywhere inside the case. They come with two sided tape. When reinstalling the new covers pay attention to the eject button. It slides in a little hard but if youre carefull it'll fit fine. The back of the case fits a little rough. It clips in but isnt totaly tight. (its on the back so who cares) The color is great apperently its not that hot in my hous since the only part that changed color is on the bottom of the case where the motherboard sits and the rest is still grey in color. All in all I like the case it comes with everything but the end plates and the rubber pads on the bottom. The only thing I dislike is that the power button/player light is not as visible like it used to be with the stock cases. but again not a big deal.. Hope this helps you out!Best Deals for SPECIAL EDITION Xbox 360 GHOST CASE - SPEKTER CASE/HDMI/BLUE LIGHTS

The product comes with no installation. I recommend watching a video on youtube, but the only problem is that the person installing the case has a completely different case. This may be a problem. When you istall the case take out the dvd drive and its wires. Keep the small black one, but throw the longer connection with thin lines out. Then reconnect with the led's. Connect the side with the 2 cords missing to the dvd drive. If you have more than one item to install with this one, ex. core cooler v2 then simply connect the core cooler v2 to the dvd drive first and then connect the led's wire to the core cooler v2 wires cable.Wednesday, October 15, 2014
Reviews of DATEL ARCADE PRO JOYSTICK inc RAPID FIRE for PS3 Xbox360 PC
The dual mod switch between PS3/PC & Xbox 360 does indeed work and that's why I bought this arcade stick; I tested it on multiple xboxes, ps3s, and pcs with no issues. Right out of the box, it's set to Xbox 360; just change the mode to work for PS3/PC by holding on to the turbo button (left button all the way at the top) and plugging it to any usb port to switch. It will stay on that mode forever, until you change it again by doing the same thing.
As for the performance, it's solid. I have no problems executing moves with this stick. The buttons feel a little cheap and loose, but I'm not concern since you can just easily replace them with better buttons. There is however one annoying thing I don't like about this arcade stick and that's the button setup. For most arcade sticks, the buttons (left to right) starts with X-Y-A-B (Square-Triangle-X-O on PS3) and then the right and left bumper/trigger buttons. BUT for this stick, (from left to right) it starts with the left bumper/trigger buttons 1st, then X-Y-A-B and finally the right bumper/trigger buttons. I don't like this setup and it's annoying to change/setup ALL of the buttons every time I go to my friend's house with this arcade stick.
Altogether, it's a good arcade stick for a very good price, since a lot of the dual mod sticks I see out there are around $150 $200.This is a really fun stick to use, though my experience is limited. For some, the fact that the buttons are not labeled will be a problem, but I'm getting used to it. It is very fun with sf iv and mk; it has a great feel and sound. Turbo works. I haven't tried it with pc/ps3 but i don't expect any problems. The metal base helps this thing feel very solid, and I expect to have it for awhile.

Best Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Wrecking Ball Deals
Don't get me wrong, Wrecking Ball can be either a potent battler (using Force Field energy, like a bowling ball), or something to reach things others Skylanders can't (tongue attacks), but he comes with a few hitches: Firstly, if you make him an "Ultimate Spinner" (leaning towards powering up his Force Field), whatever passage that is smaller than his force field will not allow him to pass until you disrupt it (also, it may also awkwardly bounce Wrecking Ball off of background items, such as lamps and other objects hanging off of walls or ceilings).
Secondly making him "Total Tongue" (leaning on making his tongue attacks faster and reach further), will leave him with weak attacks, overall.
Wrecking Ball is ok, but I think I'll keep with Spyro or Voodood as my go-to Magic-type Skylanders.
Still, the only OTHER reason I still play as him in the game, is... strangely, it's like playing a hyperactive reptilian puppy-dog (i.e. he's strangely cute).

If you buy Wrecking Ball you must have patience... I got him in the 3 character pack with Stealth Elf and Sonic Boom really needed those 2 but he was a pleasant addition. In the beginning he's not that impressive... but I would put him out there with his crazy out of control spinning and little long reaching TOUNGE and bust up a few things.. Eventually got to an upgrade or two and WHAMMO!!! He's great to put in the beginning of a battle. He turns into a crazy spinning blue ball with a FORCE FIELD that destroys anything in his path. Those powers are followed up with a BURP attack! Who else can do this??? Be sure to press and hold the burp attack for an even bigger result! For instance; you can build it up outside of a door and wait until you get inside to release the "BURP" whenever you want... Talk about control! He adds a little humor and craziness to the game and is great for wiping out a wide amount of opponents.STUCK IN A GAME GLITCH?????

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 - Xbox 360 Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $29.99

I've divided the following review into sections, based on the type of gameplay from Modern Warfare 2:
Single-Player Campaign:
Pros:
1) Action: The single-player campaign from Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most intense, white-knuckle, action-packed campaigns of any video game I have played EVER. The story is relatively good, and, except for one or two points (mentioned in cons), flows reasonably well. The missions themselves are adventures that will blow your mind. I don't want to spoil anything for prospective players, but as seen in the multiple trailers that preceded the game itself, snowmobiles, silenced snipers, heartbeat sensors, and steering television-guided missiles are among the many amazing things that come in this package. I have played the entire campaign through twice since the game's release midnight on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 the first time on regular difficulty and a second time on veteran difficulty and it definitely did not get old in between. Imagine a blockbuster action cinematic but you're the hero.
2) Challenge: The single-player campaign from Modern Warfare 2 is very challenging, more so than that from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Some might see this as a con, but I deem it otherwise. I would say that playing the campaign on regular is approximately equivalent to playing COD4's campaign on hardened. Regular to hardened represents a reasonable level of difficulty; veteran, however (and speaking from experience for the entire campaign) is, at some points, nigh impossible, and I'm NOT exaggerating. On two or three missions there were certain points where I died probably about two dozen times before managing to fight past the enemies or figure out a way to evade them. This, however frustrating, makes for all-the-greater amount of satisfaction when you beat the level, though.
Cons:
1) Storyline: Although the storyline flows reasonably well for the most part, there are one or two crucial turning points in the campaign that, simply put, just don't make too much sense to me. This is kind of jarring to a player who places emphasis on believability and cohesiveness. However, the fun of the campaign is damaged only slightly by this.

Special Ops Missions:
Background Info:
The special ops missions are additional content missions that, for the most part, resemble campaign missions from either Modern Warfare 2's single-player campaign or, on occasion, from that of Call of Duty 4. You can play the missions solo or with a friend on split screen or over Xbox Live, etc. The ops are divided into 5 categories of difficulty, Alpha through Echo. You unlock the higher levels by earning certain amounts of "stars" in the spec-ops missions. For most missions, the number of stars you earn (1-3) depends on the difficulty of the mission that you set (Regular-Veteran). There are 69 possible stars total, which means there are 23 spec-ops missions. I have unlocked all levels through Delta so far, and each has 5 missions, which presumably means that Echo category has only 3, albeit they are surely very challenging.
Pros:
1) Action: Spec-ops missions have several different determinants when determining how much action is in a given mission. Among these determinants are the mission type (more on that in just a second), difficulty, and playstyle. Some missions are definitely run-and-gun, others you will need to rely on stealth, and some the choice is really up to you. Personally, I like the ability to determine how to play a mission to some degree.
2) Variety: The Modern Warfare 2 Spec-ops missions have a lot to offer in terms of different playstyles and objectives. Each mission is categorized based on how it plays in general. Examples of categories include stealth, wave defense, race, assault, and timed assault. The environments also vary a lot, just like that in the campaign, which many of the environments are based off of. So, if you love sniping Ultranationalist dog patrols in the snow, there's something for you; same story if you want to run-and-gun through a marketplace in Rio de Janeiro defusing bombs before the clock runs out.
3) Challenge: Once again, Modern Warfare 2 comes up challenging, and once again I state this as a pro. Although there are slight variations based on the individual missions, the difficulty you set can make a huge difference. I have played through all of the Alpha and Bravo missions on veteran difficulty and the decisions a player makes, as well as how you work with your teammate in split-screen or online co-op, can make a huge difference. Players will also be forced to use good judgment, such as in the stealth missions when they decide whether they should engage or try to sneak past.
Cons:
I really can't think of anything I would genuinely change about the Spec-ops mode. The only thing I can think of that frustrates me is that I definitely pay for my mistakes on the harder difficulties but that's to be expected, right?

Multiplayer:
Pros:
1) Maps: For the most part, the maps in Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode are very well-done. Most of them are larger than those in Call of Duty 4, although there are still some nice small ones like Rust that can be fun with as few as 2-6 people. The main thing I notice about the maps is the vast increase in dynamics. Nearly all the maps have many routes from point A to point B, whether that be across a street, along some back alleys, underneath in a tunnel, or over the rooftops. The environments themselves are quite interesting, and the graphics are, of course, exemplary. All the gametypes I have played (mainly Team Deathmatch, Sabotage, and Capture the Flag) work well in terms of where players start, where they spawn, and how they can approach the game.
2) Equipment: The sheer amount of STUFF you can acquire in Modern Warfare 2's leveling-up system will blow your mind. While the number of weapons is increased about a third to a half again that of Call of Duty 4 with additions of new firearms, some of which replace others that have been removed, as well as a number of new equipment and sidearm options the number of ways to customize said weapons has at least doubled. Whereas in COD4 one could only put one of three equipment attachments on a given weapon (four if you count the grenade launcher, the others being silencer, red-dot sight, and ACOG scope), there are at least 6 for pretty much every gun in Modern Warfare 2. Examples of new attachments include the heartbeat sensor, extended magazines, full-metal jacketed bullets, underslung shotgun, and holographic sight. This variety provides tons of fun when unlocking new attachments by completing challenges and experimenting with different customizations. On top of this, with the bling perk, one can put two attachments on the same weapon, allowing even greater possibilities when building your loadout with the class customization tool.
3) Other Variety: Some other aspects of multiplayer have also been expanded on in Modern Warfare 2 from Call of Duty 4. Some that bear particular mention include the killstreak bonuses, perks, and game modes.
A) Killstreaks: Whereas in COD4 there were three killstreak bonuses (UAV radar, Airstrike, and Attack Helicopter, given at 3, 5, and 7 kill streaks respectively), there are 15 in Modern Warfare 2. Some examples of new ones are predator missile strike, stealth bomber run, AC130, EMP, and (the one that scares me the most) Tactical Nuke, the description for which simply says "End the game with a bang." However, you don't gain them all at once (that would turn games into ridiculous streak-fests). Instead, at certain levels you are able to unlock another killstreak bonus, having started out with UAV, a new bonus called Care Package, and Predator Missile strike. Once a player has more than three bonuses unlocked, the player can choose, at any time prior to any game, which three to have active.
B) Perks: Perks, for those not familiar, are selected bonuses or abilities that a player selects as part of their class when playing multiplayer. There are several new perks in the game that confer interesting and useful, but not overpowered, abilities. Additionally, prolonged use of a perk now eventually allows the achievement and use of a "pro" version of the perk, that gives an additional bonus. A few examples of this are the Bling and Stopping Power perks. Bling "Pro" allows a player to extend the bonus of Bling (two attachments on primary weapon) to the player's secondary weapon or sidearm. Stopping Power "Pro" gives the player an additional damage bonus against vehicles.
C) Game Modes: I am very happy that there are a few new game modes in Modern Warfare 2, particularly with the inclusion of an all-time favorite, Capture the Flag. Other new additions include a gametype called demolition and several traditional game types that are played in third-person mode, similar to Gears of War.
4) Volume: Whereas Call of Duty 4 had 55 levels in any given progression, Modern Warfare 2 has 70. Add that to 14 different online playlists and 16 starting maps (and Activision has announced at least 2 DLC map packs will be on the way), there is a great deal of replay value in Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer.
Cons:
1) Party Chat: It's in practically every review, I know, but I should include it anyways: most playlists in Modern Warfare 2 (all except Mercenary Team Deathmatch, Free-for-All, Ground War, 3rd Person Teams, and 3rd Person Cage Match) require you to be in game chat mode no talking to friends who aren't in the game over a separate party. This isn't an extremely big problem in my opinion, but it can be slightly annoying, especially if there is someone else in the game who is being annoying. However, you always have the option of muting particular players. If you really wanted to, you could just mute everyone in the playlist except your friends, unless they're not playing with you.
2) Particular Maps: This is a purely subjective con, but I'll throw it in here anyway. One or two (and only one or two) of the multiplayer maps are not very well built for gameplay, in my opinion. If you buy the game, I personally would advise trying to avoid Wasteland, but maybe that's just me. For the most part, nearly all the maps are quite fun.
Neutral Comments:
This is a section where I'll mention just a few of the differences between Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 that don't fall into pro or con in my opinion.
1) Death: Simply put, you die easier in Modern Warfare 2. Whether this is a move to reflect realism, a "consequence" of more advanced firearms, or just a change Infinity Ward happened to make, it is a reality. It took me an hour or so to get used to it, but it's just part of the game, and it's the same for everybody playing. I don't think this is a positive or negative change.

Would I recommend this game to a friend?: YES
I don't play multiplayer too much, so my review is focused on the campaign. I don't understand why so many people complain about it being too short. I don't think it's too short at all. The missions and locations are the best I've ever seen. There's maps in the snow, the desert, the forest, the ocean, urban ghettos, an airport, etc. You'll be running, driving snow mobiles & boats, jumping over roof-tops and cliffs. The story & special effects are truly amazing. There's rain, snow, blizzards, wind, fog, etc. It really seemed like every few missions I would see something so amazing I would think I'll never forget that moment. Then I'll play another mission and see something that topped it. Having just finished the game, one of the last missions had an EMP go off and helicopters falling from the sky and parts flying everywhere. Then all the electronics in your guns quits working. And as your running around shooting the bad guys, there's not only rain coming down, water flooding places, but all these red embers from the crash sites flying all over the place. I'll never forget it. Then after I finished the game, I was blown away by what they did with the credits. I won't ruin everything, but I'll reiterate that everything (and I mean everything) about this game is top-notch.
I'll also just throw in the quick comment about the co-op missions. I've played some of the COD games in the past and whenever I would have a friend over, I would never be able to play it with them because there was no real co-op. Either you had to jump online to play split-screen (which can be intimidating for new players) or you play 1-on-1 on an empty map. MW2 changes that. And by doing so simply adds to what was already the best game I've ever played. The co-op has a TON of 2-player missions. Some of them are even pretty dang tough. It's the variety of them that makes them so much fun too. It's not just 2 people trying to kill everything on the map. Some of them are speed races, beat the clocks, wave survivals, and my favorites: one person in the air and the other on the ground. And it's implemented flawlessly. Some of them will definitely make you say Wow.
Many people only rate products that they either really love, or really hate (unless they're just bored or completists). Add one to the Really Love column.
Well done Activision. Well done. I don't know if there will be another game that will amaze me like this one did.
I will break this out into three categories: Campaign, Spec-Ops, and Multiplayer
Campaign:
The campaign for Modern Warfare 2 is similar in play style, length, and quality to the original Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward has sacrificed overall length and storytelling to focus on fast-paced, white-knuckle action and suspense. It is defeinitely worth playing for anyone that has Modern Warfare 2.
Pros
+The action is great. Their are tons of terrorists to kill, and plenty of realistic and fun military weapons and gear to use. I thought it was a blast to play around with Predators, and order an APC to attack a certain area. I really appreciate the time and effort Infinity Ward puts into the weapons and gear because I am a nerd for military video games, and I have actually seen many of the weapons in the game.
+You visit plenty of real-world locations throughout the campaign. This makes for a lot of diversity in the missions and environments. Many shooters tack on repetitive hallways and areas just to say their games takes X hours to beat, but Infinity Ward obviously puts some tender loving care into their mission design.
+A few notable missions in the campaign are some of the best I have ever played in any video game. They are just stunning in the presentation. I dont want to spoil them for players that havent experienced the campaing, so I will leave it at that.
Cons
-The story of the campaign has plot holes all over the place. By the time you finish the campaign, you wont have much of an idea as to what you have just done. It seems like the scripting and plotline is measurably worse than the first Modern Warfare. It is still the typical "hunt down and kill the bad guy" type story, but told with less cohesiveness. It is almost as if Infinity Ward thought of a bunch of awesome missions for the player to experience, requiring him to travel all over the world to complete them, and then forced in this ridiculous and way over-the-top story to blend it all together.
-I finished the campaign on hardened difficulty in 7 hours. If you are a veteran of Call of Duty, I recommend you play on hardened your first time through. This is a fairly short campaign, but with a lot of attention payed to details. I dont think a short, but well done campaign is a bad thing. However, the story is not great this time around and really leaves something to be desired in terms of to what context the player's actions should be framed.
Spec-Ops
Spec-Ops is the cooperative segment of Modern Warfare 2. It is a series of 23 missions, broken into groups of 5, that will remind you of the "Mile High Club" mission after the credits rolled in Modern Warfare 1. You can play these split screen or online with one other person. Spec-Ops are great fun when played cooperatively, and are a surprisingly good addition to a Call of Duty game. I dont have many complaints about Spec-Ops
Pros
+The missions are a lot of fun. You can tell that some of these missions are ideas that Infinity Ward thought of for the campaign, but didnt quite fit in to what they wanted to do. Their isnt necessarily a story in any of the Spec-Ops missions, they are just there for the challenge and fun. Infinity Ward got pretty creative with some of these missions, like a mission in an AC-130. Most of the missions are based on missions in Modern Warfare 2, and I've noticed a couple based on Modern Warfare 1.
+Their is plenty of challenge and replayability to Spec-Ops. Each mission has 3 difficulties corresponding to "stars". 1 star is regular, 2 is hardened, and 3 is veteran. Almost every mission seems to be beatable on regular by yourself, but for some you're required to play with someone else. I dont think anyone would be able to finish any of the Spec-Ops missions by themself on Veteran, except maybe some of the early ones. This goes to show how much cooperation is required.
Cons
-I would like to be able to play some of these missions with more than 2 total players. How awesome would it be for you and 5 of your friends to be in several AC-130's, shooting terrorists and completing objectives? Resistance 2 has 8-player cooperative missions, but they arent as exciting and creative as Modern Warfare 2's Spec-Ops.
Multiplayer
Their is so much to say about Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer that I could write an entire separate review for it. I think most people that buy Modern Warfare 2 are primarily looking for multiplayer, and their purchase will be justified. If you liked the multiplayer in Modern Warfare 1, you will like it in the sequel. Their can be up to 18 players in one game at a time, although this is only in the "Ground War" playlist that just has team deathmatch and domination (a capture points mode). Most of the games are 12 player affairs, which I think is fitting for this game This is not Battlefield, it's Call of Duty. You earn experience for a variety of things like: kills, winning the game, assisting your teammates with a kill, completing general "challenges" or challenges pertaining specifically to a certain weapon, perk, or equipment, completing objectives like planting a bomb or capping a flag, etc. As you can see, Infinity Ward has thought of a plethora of ways to reward the player for their accomplishments. Your experience will accumulate, and you will "rank up" at certain intervals. Each level will earn you new weapons, perks, equipment, and challenges that you can use and pursue while playing the multiplayer. You can also customize your killstreaks now. This means you can unlock and "equip" 3 killstreaks, and when you get that killstreak in a game you reap the rewards. Finally, there are deathstreak rewards that work much like the killstreak rewards. It can help a struggling player to get back into the game. It is a blast to play with friends, and I highly recommend that you do. Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer is some of the best I have ever played on a console, and I think most people will love it.
Pros
+The progression of ranks will keep you addicted to Modern Warfare 2 for months, possibly for over a year. Infinity Ward struck gold when they blended a first-person-shooter with great controls and an rpg-like progression system in Modern Warfare 1. Modern Warfare 2 takes the relatively "safe" approach and keeps the formula mostly the same while expanding on it.
+Infinity Ward has re-worked the perks and has added plenty of new weapons and attachments. Their is much more to play around with now. Each perk has a "pro" version that you unlock by completing challenges for the appropriate perk. For example, you unlock Scavenger Pro by using the Scavenger perk and running over 150 dead bodies to resupply yourself. The pro version gives you the same benefit as the base perk (resupply by running over corpses), and adds additional magazines for your primary and secondary weapons. The pro perks are a great idea, and the new weapons are excellent.
+There are 16 playlists currently. This makes for a lot of diversity in the types of games you play. I have not become the slightest bit bored of playing the multiplayer yet as there are so many different games to play.
+Infinity Ward's map design is so great you will find yourself just staring at things in the environment. Their is an incredible level of detail to each map these are some of the most detailed boards I have ever seen in a game. The maps are right up their, if not better than, those in Killzone 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Halo 3, and any other popular shooter you can name.
Cons
-XBOX Live has had it's problems with potty-mouth children playing mature-rated games online, and Modern Warfare 2 is a poster child for it. You wont believe how young some of the players are, and the completely unacceptable and appalling language that comes out of their mouths. Get used to: racial and sexual slurs, swearing, obnoxious sounds, singing, and voices; and teenagers calling each other "noobs", bragging about "owning"...you get the picture. I dont know how a 13-yr.-old boy gets his hands on this game, but their are way too many kids online. This is not necessarily a knock exclusively on Modern Warfare 2, but with millions of players online, you will know exactly what I am talking about in your first hour of the game. This is a fair warning to brace yourself. I suggest you find yourself some adult gamers, add them to your friends list, and play with them as often as possible. Your Modern Warfare 2 experience will be INFINIT(el)Y better.
Get it? INFINITELY...Infinity Ward?...Get it? Ok, nevermind...
-You will get killed quickly and frequently if you spend all of your time on your own unless you like being a sniper. This is another reason to do as I said above find some other adult gamers and play with them. You will have a better time socializing with friends, and working together to complete objectives like capping a flag.
-Their seems to be more snipers in Modern Warfare 2 than in any other Call of Duty I have played. And I have played all of them. If you arent a sniper, it seems like you get killed much more frequently and easily, by enemies you cant even see. I have more frequent deathstreaks now than I ever have, and it gets frustrating. I am guessing the reason there are more snipers is the fact that killstreak rewards are enticing, and you die much less often when you are in the same window in a warehouse sniping the whole game. I try to focus on playing game modes where you have to move around, like domination and headquarters.
-I have a personal and subjective knock on the game: the perk stopping power is still in. Stopping power makes your bullets do more damage. In my opinion it messes up the balance of the game because if you choose to use any other red perk, you will get killed by people with stopping power all the time. 90% of the time I die, and I see the player that killed me, he was using stopping power. I am therefore forced to use stopping power to be competitive, which prevents myself and every other player from being able to use and enjoy the 5 other red perks. If it takes me 4 more bullets to kill someone as it takes them to kill me, I am at a huge disadvantage and my kill/death ratio will detetiorate to an embarassing level. I wish Infinity Ward would make stopping power a deathstreak reward like they did with juggernaut (extra health) and martyrdom (drop a grenade when you die).

Wow. I came late to the party. I saw the mixed reviews and decided to wait. Instead, I picked up Battlefield 2: Bad Company, which early reviews were calling better than MW2. However, I came away feeling "meh" about it. Eventually, I traded it in and decided to get MW2 anyways. Even though I'm late to the game (and there's literally hundreds of other reviews for this game already), I'll at least add my 2 cents because I think this game has changed the landscape for EVER. This is literally the best game I've ever played. Ever. It's really that good. This is the game you can demo to all your friends who wonder if they should get an Xbox360.I don't play multiplayer too much, so my review is focused on the campaign. I felt compelled to write a positive review for MW2 after buying black ops recently. Black ops just cannot be compared to this game, they are in two different leagues. This game is so smooth and realistic, the sound and the graphics really come together to give the player a truly immersive experience. This is an amazing game, one of my all-time favorites.Honest reviews on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 - Xbox 360
Read any of the other comments for a full review. This game sets the standard for all other FPS. Black Ops is fun and a good switch off but this is still the best on the market. I think it says something that even with newer games out and this one being on the market so long, it stil sells for $60 at Best Buy. I have been playing Modern Wafare 2 non-stop since release, and I absolutely love it. If you have any interest in shooters, this is the game for you. The overall package is unlike any other game this year, and is hands-down one of the best FPS's ever made. The graphics have improved significantly from the original, and I can tell Modern Warfare 2 was built from the ground-up. It's a great deal on Amazon, with the credit of $10.

USB Microphone for RockBand or Guitar Hero (PS3, Wii, Xbox360) Review

I bought this microphone to further enhance my Rock Band experience. I was not disappointed. It kept in tune well (which was a problem I saw with other microphones) and was light enough to not be a burden of any kind. I don't mind that it is not wireless, since I wouldn't move around much anyways. Also, the fact that it doesn't have buttons didn't bother me, mainly because I don't mind using a controller to navigate. I do think it could have been packaged better, but I don't fault the microphone for it. Overall, a very simplistic, yet functional, design that works well.

I got this microphone after my microphone that came with Rock Band fell apart (the wire became loose at the microphone). I like it better than the original. It is a little more sensitive so you don't have to have it right next to your mouth and easier to handle as it is shorter. I am really surprised that it cost so little and works so well.Honest reviews on USB Microphone for RockBand or Guitar Hero (PS3, Wii, Xbox360)
I got this microphone for an extra singer on Beatles Rock Band wii. It works just as good as the original and it's fairly cheap. It arrived quickly and it definitely enhances my Beatle Rock Band experience. The microphones that I ordered look just like the ones that came with the Rock Band 2 game. I bought 2 extra microphones because I bought the Beatles Rock Band game and to do the 2 part harmony you need 3 microphones. What I am a little annoyed with is the fact that you need an adapter to plug in the 3rd microphone which I don't have and now have to go buy. Otherwise they work just fine. We are happy with it so far...Thursday, July 17, 2014

Other reviews have covered a lot of ground reviewing this excellent game.
I would like to add one point:
As a casual gamer, I often get frustrated with games as I don't have the time to learn dozens of controls, nor have the dexterity I once did. Plus, too often games get frustrating and I get stuck or bored by being forced to re-do too much when I fail at a mission.
This game is excellent in the sense that it is just hard enough. Yes, I played it on Easy mode, and I amazed more games don't have this. Gives hints, just hard enough, and when I have to re-do something, 90% it doesn't go back too far where I get bored and frustrated.
This was one of the most fun games I have played in a long time. (And I finished it too, which is pure joy.)
I hope other publishers follow this trend. People in their 30's often have the money to drop 50-60 bucks on a game, but too often we are ignored by publishers by making the games too hard.
The story starts off more like a movie. On this quest you are accompanied by an attractive documentarian Elena and of course your comrade Sullie. What sets Uncharted apart from some many games is the cinematic approach is so seemless it makes it hard to seperate gameplay from movie watching. As your journey progresses you begin to realize you have many enemies. It seems Sullie doesn't live the cleanest life and borrowing money from a bad guy doesn't help. So now the bad guys are out to collect the debt by finding El Dorado. Although it becomes apparent that El Dorado is not a city of gold but a man of gold.
Without getting too much into the story it will definately leave you filling your aderaline need. The gameplay is incredible in this game. The enemy A.I. starts off slow and quickly progresses as you get further into this game. Enemies will actually out manuever you. If you don't plan out your attacks well you will find yourself dead. Although the battles are not the only thing you face in this game there are a number of puzzles that are not overlly difficult. What I do enjoy about this game is that it has a hint option. You can use it to help you in confusing spots. Although if you are more hardcore you will probably leave this option off. There are four difficulty levels and the toughest option is locked until you beat the game on hard. What is a first for a PS3 game is the reward system that is being used. There are 60 treasures that can be found througout your journey. On top of that there are objectives that you can try to complete. Some are simple like killing a certain amount of enemies with one of your weapons and others are more complex like getting a certain amount of stealth kills.
The visuals in this game are stunning and some of the best I have ever seen. What is good to watch is the incredible amount of detail put into everything. The jungle environments are lush and beautiful and the water effects are some of the best ever. Sometimes it is enjoyable just to stand and enjoy the beauty of the environment. Tree branches sway, clouds move, and leaves fly all over the place. This is as close to reality as I have seen.
If you own a PS3 this game is a must buy. To say the least it is one of the best games available on any console. The storyline is enjoyable and reminiscent of many great adventure movies. Uncharted sets a new bar on next gen games and hopefully others will follow with this excellent quality. If you like action and adventure and don't mind being the star of a playable movie then Uncharted should be on your list.
Visually this is the best looking console game ever made. Hands down, no question. As someone who enjoys immersion in games, I've never had a better experience with a video game.
Have you ever wanted to play a GOOD Indiana Jones game? Well, this is that game. The world, style, and humor is straight out of Indiana Jones. So you have a game set in a world that is much like Indiana Jones, and it just happens to have some of the best game play I've experienced in any game on any console. If you own a PS3, you simply must buy this game. If you don't, I feel sorry for you. If you don't own a PS3, you should buy one to play this game, and pick up Ratchet and Clank while you're at it. You will not be disappointed.
This game is absolute blast. I won't go into details you can read them everywhere else. I'll just say that graphics are beautiful, story is engaging in an Indiana Jones type way, but the BEST PART: the enemies are SMART (I'm playing this on normal difficulty)! Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. Combat also requires thinking on your part you will not be picking up 200 rounds of ammo of each dead enemy, so you actually have to think before you shoot. The cover system is also great. You can't just duck behind a stone, as the enemy will flank you immediately. You have to keep moving and constantly be aware of where your enemies are. Long story short you can not advance in the game by just running down the middle in spraying hundreds of rounds of ammo you will have to develop tactics.
To keep the game from being repetitive, there's a very big platform and puzzle element (although puzzles have been kind of easy so far). But all of this works really well.
In short, I would recommend this over any PS3 title that's out there right now.
I
Gameplay is where Uncharted really shines. Since you are constantly doing and seeing new things (there are some truly dazzling set-pieces), there is never a "grinding" feeling to the game that too many action games seem to have these days. What surprised me most is the fact that not only does Uncharted succeed as an adventure game (you will visit all sorts of exotic locales and climb cliffs, scale walls, etc.), but is also a great action game in its own right with a well-designed and balanced combat system. The game features both gun-play as well as viscerally thrilling melee combat. Unlike the Tomb Raider series, the gun play requires some skill (there is only 'limited' auto-aim) and has a lot of depth. The different weapons are fun to use, and you are forced to make some tactical choices due to the fact that you can only carry around two weapons (plus grenades) at a time. The enemy AI is pretty intelligent and will sit back or aggressively charge/flank you depending on your own posturing.
The story line is well written and neatly ties the whole package together. Let's be clear -the story is not the Next Great American Novel. What it IS is the best of adventure pulp fiction, rolled together with some faux historical intrigue a la the Da Vinci Code. Most importantly, all the characters in the game are likable and deliver some good laughs in the process. Note: the game is rated "Teen" and deservedly so without any spoilers, there is some content that would likely be pretty disturbing for younger children.
The graphics and audio are top-notch and well-polished, which adds greatly to the immersive feeling of the game. The whole world feels alive trees sway in the wind, fish swim in the ponds, ambient noises are well balanced by heroic in-game contextual music. Close attention has been paid to details: Nathan Drake (the character you play) will grit his teeth and mutter under his breath when bullets go whizzing by him, if he is too close to a concussive blast you will hear the ringing in his ears as the other sounds fade out. The level designs in Uncharted are also amazing. While the game play is linear (story-driven), the world still feels expansive and the architecture of the various ruins, castles, etc. are beautiful and allow for plenty of exploration (you can find treasures hidden throughout the game that allow you unlock various extras in the game).
The unlockable extras and the built-in rewards system make the game well-worth replaying as well. In summary, this is a terrific game that shouldn't be missed. I can't wait for Uncharted 2!

Nathan Drake is not typical of characters you see in videogames much lately. Nate doesn't look like he pumps iron, he won't win any sexiest man alive awards, and his unassuming ways make him enjoyable. Of course you may recognize the name Drake for the famous explorer Sir Francis Drake. Yes Nate is related to the famous explorer and now he is off to find the mysterious El Dorado(City of Gold). To say the least the journey will be unforgettable to most. The story starts off more like a movie. Uncharted is the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. The game-play is flawlessly implemented. I wasn't buying into the hype for this game as I was focusing on Assassins Creed... Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the most complete, immersive, and outright FUN games I have ever played. It is a remarkably fluid game, that transitions seamlessly from pulse-pounding action to epic exploration, all tied together in a fantastic cinematic style. The game is relentlessly entertaining and delivers the goods on EVERY level, with some fantastic twists leading up to a truly satisfying finale. It was with some regret that I watched the ending credits roll, but now I get to go through the game again! (It took roughly 12 hrs to complete on the "Hard" difficulty -finishing on Hard unlocks the "Crushing" difficulty).Gameplay is where Uncharted really shines. Review of Xbox 360 Modded Stealth Controller Rapid Fire / Sniper Quick Scope
I ordered this controller on the 8th of September. I received it on the 25th. If you are planning on buying this be prepared to wait because it is shipping in from China. First of all, the description says it comes with a detailed instructions manual. Didn't receive it. Had to ask a question on this page to figure out. When I first received it, it had several scratches on it. I'm assuming this is because the packaging is very thin and doesn't protect it very well. The first thing I realized when I picked it up was that it was not a Microsoft shell. The whole shell is made up of a cheap feeling material. This material is still pretty durable and I can see it surviving quite a few drops. It has stealth buttons and has a blue LEDs. You can look at my customer image. All of the modes work very well. Nine of them are adjustable for different games. This controller works in all of the COD series games. Overall I'm giving this a 4/5 because of the defects of the controller shell, and it didn't come with instructions. I would recommend this because of the overall low price for what you are getting.
