No one can resist the urge to keep playing Resistance: Fall of Man once the game is started. Chapter after chapter of exhilarating battles against a plethora of creatures that you use a plethora of weapons to defeat (and they'll use them against you too).

To really put the plot of the game in context (if you care about the plot), it's well worth the visit to the official Resistance: Fall of Man web site; there's a ton of story there that I'd bet 90% of the people who start the game are unaware of. For me, the story helped me "get into character" for the game. If you just want to start wasting some nasty beasts, "Get to it, soldier!" Rest assured, the story won't help you beat the enemies or evade the barrage of defenses that will be fired at you by them.

As a relatively new gamer, I'm glad that I played Call of Duty 3 Call of Duty 3 before I cracked open Resistance: Fall of Man. It was good FPS training (set in approximately the same time period) for this much more difficult PS3 title.

Resistance has an M (mature gamers only) rating which miffs me a bit, but then I'm a bit more liberal when it comes to what I think might warp the little minds of kids these days. I've seen this classified as a Horror title, but I think that Sci-fi Action is much more fitting. Resistance deserved a T (teen) rating. My kids and I get hung up all too often on sunny days playing Resistance's Co-op Mode when we should be outside playing ball. And hopefully that alone speaks volumes as to how addictively fun this game is.

Co-op Mode is split screen of course because the game is FPS; it would be nice if some games could give the option of switching to a single screen, third person view for Co-op in order to negate the need for split screen, but that would distinctly change to look, range, feel and some of the weaponry...so I assume that's why it's never offered on Co-op mode.

Multi-player is very cool. Multi-player is not like Co-op where you play the Campaign Mode with a partner. In Multi-player you battle against your friends offline (4 player max/split screen) or online (40 player max/full screen). You get some areas of battle to play in that you encountered in Campaign Mode and some new map scematics.

But Resistance's real challenge is in single player Campaign Mode.

Your weapons are plentiful. You start with a pretty standard machine gun (M5A2) that includes a grenade launcher that will become your best "little friend" in the game. It's very useful on the enemies that you encounter most throughout the game. You also get several mean weapons that you pick up from your fallen comrades and defeated beasts including the enemy's main machine gun (The Bullseye...very handy), grenades, a shotgun, a sniper rifle, a radiation blaster (The Auger), a mine thrower, a rapid fire subsonic bolt dispenser (The Hailstorm) and a rocket launcher.

Grenades are key to survival...use them, but you'll want to keep in mind that you can run out real real fast...so use them pretty much exclusively to take down groups of enemies.

(And five other weapons aside from the ones that I mentioned above are unlocked only after beating/completing the game once on medium difficulty or higher.)

If you missed the countless gamer magazines' synopsises of the creature types and the power of the individual weapons, there are some great gamer help web sites that are worth taking a look at to help you strategize (just click on my profile above and email me if you'd like me to point you in the right direction).

And speaking of getting pointed in the right direction, part of the fun of this game is figuring out on your own how to get from chapter to chapter. There are no maps, which at times was frustrating. Let me tell you that if the phrase "the best route is not always the most obvious" ever applied to trying to get from here to there it applies in this game on more than one occasion.

You'll also need to at times navigate a jeep and a tank.

So what exactly are you fighting? Where exactly did they come from? If you're up to the challenge to find out....You're Sgt. Nathan Hale, and you're the only one with a Resistance to the Fall of Man. Prepare for some serious battle.

Resistance Fall of Man is a first person shooter that combines World War II era environments with Doom-like horrific enemies to fight. It also offers great online multiplayer gameplay.

The plot is that, around the time of World War II, enemies attacked the world, starting with Russia and moving westward through Europe and England. In the 50s, the US launched a counter-attack, landing in England. You're fighting, at least to start with, with WWII era weapons and outfits through the streets of England.

Let's start with the graphics. The game goes for a very Call of Duty style of look not quite realistic, more "cartooney" or stylized. Textures are smoothed out, some objects are simplified. That's not to say this is a Disney kiddie look. The monsters are grimey and nasty looking, the war-torn streets are very gritty. If anything, because this is set in a WWII type atmosphere, much of the game is brown, grimy and shell-shocked.

The HUD is reasonably well done and not intrusive. A small series of bars on the left indicates your health. An equally small but useful display on the right tracks your ammo, magazines and grenades.

The sound leans towards epic thundering scores, a la Gladiator or Conan. Players who love heavy rock music might not enjoy this, but I actually love this kind of music. I own both of the soundtracks I mentioned :). So to me, this really draws you into the atmosphere. The yells, gun noises and so on seem relatively realistic to help you feel you're really in the middle of a fight. I also like that, during gameplay, it's usually done without music. If I'm trying to sneak somewhere and listen for enemy movement, I don't want that objective made difficult by a soundtrack.

Gameplay itself is typical FPS fare. You can crouch, jump over things, zoom in on your enemy, throw grenades, strafe, and so on. Your friends and enemies are rather good about taking cover and not just rushing an enemy head-on. There are a few situations which seem quite scripted if your pals are meant to die, you could play perfectly and take out every enemy quickly and your friends will still be killed by mysterious off-screen snipers. Still, the game needs to keep you on course for the plot so this is to be expected.

Checkpointing is reasonably good, although sometimes it sends you further back then you might like to start again. Healing is done via canisters you find, but depending on your skill you might wish there were more canisters scattered around :). That's why they have 3 levels of difficulty here.

The interactivity with your environment is pretty impressive. Say your enemy is hiding behind a car. You can shoot out the car's windows and then shoot the enemy through the open space. Or you can shoot the car to damage it, and have it explode a la the infamous 'red exploding barrels' found in most shooting games. If you shoot at a window a few times, it will first crack, then pieces will fall out.

Not only is the game great in single player mode, but you can play co-op with a friend at your home, or online in larger groups with friends or strangers from around the world. This helps turn the game from a play-for-a-few-months-at-home style game to a play-eternally-with-friends-online game.

Well recommended!

I don't know how any one can get the real picture on this game with reviews from the fanboys and haters being so predominant. I hope my review is helpful to you.

This is the best first-person-shooter for a SONY platform. The gameplay is fun and solid. Controls are responsive and, as stated by another reviewer, hit detection is accurate. It's a must own launch title for the PS3.

The graphics are in a bit "flat". They don't have that multi-dimension feel that I expected from a next-gen title on such a powerful system. There's no depth to inanimate objects such as grass, boxes, chairs and so forth. Also, you can just run right through dead characters. You don't have the ability to push the bodies around. Also, when walking through grass you literally walk "through" it. It doesn't move you just pass through it. The environments also aren't very interactive. There's not much more you can do besides run, hide and shoot.

The smoothness of the gameplay is impressive. Even when there are loads of characters on screen everything still runs smoothly. This is a testament to the PS3's power. That being said, it also means that this game doesn't really stress the hardware. Resistance delivers and goods and does everything well.

We have to remember that the PS3 is still in its infancy and has a way to go before the software catches up to the hardware. We'll have to wait for the next round of high end games to find out just what the PS3 is capable of.

Honest reviews on Resistance: Fall of Man - Playstation 3

I am really, really picky about my FPS's. Over the years, only Halo, Halo 2, Half Life 2, Socom 2, and Counterstrike have been able to make me say "wow" and keep playing for months. My games have to have it all (story, gameplay, online, sound). This is another one to add to that list. Resistance is all around incredible. I would say this is one of my favorite games ever (and thats saying a ton for a launch title). The single player comes second only to Half Life 2 and the multiplayer is on par and may be even a little better than the rest of the titles I mentioned. I have been playing relentlessly since launch and plan to play for months to come. Throw in the coop op mode and all the unlockables and leveling up in the online game and you have an instant classic.

Probably the biggest stand out in the game are the weapons. This game has a weapon that shoots through walls for goodness sake. The sniper rifle slows down time. Even the rocket launcher can be stopped in midair, fire its own volley of rockets, and then be aimed again and launched in another direction. Its just amazing how much thought and innovation went into these weapons. The sound is great, the story in engaging, and the graphics are very good. They aren't Gears of War good, but then again, Resistance puts more than 4 creatures on the screen at ones and keeps a steady framerate.

And last but not least, the online play (20 vs 20) is LAG FREE. I have yet to see one instance of lag in my entire time playing the online game, and everyone else seems to have the same results.

All in all, this game is amazing, and the fact that it is a launch title makes it all the more impressive. BUY THIS NOW. If your waiting to buy your ps3, BUY IT THEN.

One thing you're sure to hear from 360 fanboys is how Gears of War blows away Resistance, etc etc. Since I own both systems, I went ahead and gave this game a shot a couple days ago, and I was _not_ disappointed. The game may not be as pretty, but it still looks great, and is a blast to play. I wished for a while that there was a cover feature like Gears, but really every other shooter I've played doesn't have it, and I was used to it within minutes.

Pros -

* Campaign plays like a story, feels like you're playing through history.

* Co-op campaign mode, I'm a big fan of this, for me it makes the game much more enjoyable.

* Great gameplay and graphics, not quite GoW quality, but looks awesome on an HDTV, controls and gameplay are standard, but pretty much flawless.

* Easy to launch into multiplayer play, I downloaded the patch and was playing (for free even) within a couple of minutes with 39 other people in the game, fun stuff.

* Atmospheric, great AI. Challenging for all skills levels, get a feeling of immersion playing through.

* Weapons! These can make or break a shooter...if the weapons aren't fun to shoot, then a shooter can lose it's appeal quickly. I enjoyed pretty much every gun you get, but I didn't really understand why you need to beat the game to get access to a few new weapons...not a good reason to replay a game in my opinion.

Cons -

* Not _quite_ the graphics I expected from PS3, but it's first gen, so very minute complaint. Only supports 720p I'm actually not sure if this going to be standard for PS3 games, or later games will be 1080p, (ala blu-ray)but it would have been that much nicer for it to look that much better. If you don't own an HDTV, don't worry about this, if you do, you might not even have 1080p resolution, so this "problem" really doesn't apply to most people.

* I'm noticing a trend here with games like this where the campaign is only around 10 hrs...it's a great 10, but it kinda sucks to be done in a couple of days, and I don't gain much satisfaction from beating it on a harder difficulty. (I beat it on medium)That being said, the free multiplayer option is nice. (Also, it's about 10hrs not including restarts, moving at a fairly fast clip through the game, it could take novice players double that at medium difficulty)

Overall -

Very fun to play through the story, I honestly got as much of a kick out of it as I did GoW...very similar yet somehow not as mindless in presentation. If you want to play through the story once, and don't enjoy multiplayer, _RENT IT_. If you like playing through on different difficulties, or especially if you enjoy multiplayer shooters, _BUY IT_.

The actual Shell is of very good quality and is almost identical to the look and feel of an official Xbox controller, the D-pad and abxy buttons are also of very good quality, the joysticks seem a little cheaper and the triggers, back/start, and rb lb seem to be made of a cheaper plastic. Tolerances are a little bit different from an official controller so be wary of trying to mix and match parts, when I tried to use the bumper assembly from my official controller it didn't quite fit right, also the start and back buttons are a little different. Everything else seems to work together, I used this to fix a broken black controller, the red front mated perfectly to the black back, and the buttons seem to switch out fine, the red trigger seems to be a little more hollow inside giving the spring more room and making the trigger fell "lighter". The home button it comes with seems sort of lame, but the official one fit in just fine with a little push.

All in all I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and will be using kits like this in the future to repair/customize my controllers.

The case looks and feels great, it dosnt quiet fit on properly the first time but with a few adjustments it feels and looks great.

The thumbsticks, like others have said are horrible, do not buy this if youre only looking for thumbstick replacements

The D-pad is perfect and feels exactly the same as the orignal

The A,B,X,Y buttons arnt quiet the same quality as the original but they look pretty dam close.

The triggers are good but I prefer the original

I did have one problem, Mine did not come with a synch button so I had to use the one from my original controller

You can use the same guide button unfortunately you cannot use the same plastic ring that surrounds it. you have to use the one that came with it

overall its a decent product and im happy with my purchase

and yes to confirm what others say, it does you different (included) screws

pro:nice looking case

cons: bad thumbsticks, no synch button, not very good triggers

Honest reviews on eForCity Shell Compatible with Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless

I had no problems with this kit at all, and was easily able to turn one of my plain white controllers into a nice red one for my son. The project took about 30 minutes and the pieces fit perfectly and I had no problems whatsoever.

Does NOT fit together correctly at all. Dpad doesn't work at all. Buttons are to small for the holes and move around. Left trigger was broken and couldn't be used, although it wouldn't work correctly if it wasn't broken. Screws that were included are not the correct screws. PIECE OF JUNK bottom line.

Okay, first of all, I may be slightly biased because I am a fan of Peanuts and have been for decades. However, I think that is appropriately balanced with the fact that I was a state ranked tennis player and have worked in the tennis industry for several years, making me a very harsh critic of any tennis game.

So on with the review!

Take away Snoopy, Linus, Charlie Brown and all the other familiar characters you are able to play with, and do you know what you have? You still have a very solid tennis video game. The gameplay is actually very fun, and regardless of the sentimental value one may hold for Snoopy and the gang, it's an addicting game. As a tennis player, it's very nice to see actual mechanics used in the game (ie: when you swing earlier, you will pull the ball toward the forehand side).

It's a pretty easy game once you get the hang of it (swing once you hear the ball bounce),however, the very hard mode is absolutely impossible (well... right now at least). I haven't tried the two-player link mode yet, so I don't know how that is. The single player mode consists of normal, squash (walls count, but it's no fun) and powerup mode, which has icons you can pick up (similar to Mario Tennis). Then there's championship mode, which allows you to unlock characters and stages after completing it with the different difficulties.

The cons of the game No doubles play. That's about it, really. I guess i could complain about the monotonous sound effects, but for a system that was made 12 years ago, I'm not complaining.

But back to the Snoopy and Peanuts bitthey're absolutely adorable. For the first couple hours, you'll be more engrossed with the character movements and how cute they are than the actual game play.

Kudos to Infogrames for not pumping out a commercialized piece of [junk]. I'm looking forward to their release of their Snoopy flight adventure game later in the year (for the PS2 I believe).

When playing Tennisgames theres one all determining factor the controls. Especially your ability to control the ball, and this games really nails it. Mario doesn't even come close, forget about everything else once you master the controls you'll enjoy this game forever and ever. The graphics is also crystal clear, wich can't be said for Mario. You never doubt whether or not you made the shot.

In my book this is one of the best tennisgames ever, regardless of platform.

Best Deals for Snoopy Tennis

This is the first video game to feature the Peanuts characters and it's a splendid showing. I'd give it a slightly higher 4.5 if I could. The characters are detailed, instantly recognizable and have different attributes, colors are birght, there are multiple courts to play on, as well as variations on the srtaight tennis game. When you play the championship mode you play against different characters as you progress. Once you beat a new character, it will become available for play in the regular mode. So there's a collection side of things that keeps you hooked. There is also a power mode where different power ups appear durring the match. Aiming for them is quite challenging. Also you can hook up your GBC to a friends and play against each other! Always a great idea for a sports game.

My only gripes with the game are that I wish the sound was a bit crisper and that there was some character voices or something to keep things sonically fresh. All that's presented are the ball sounds, a crowd cheer and an announcer saying "out", when you hit the ball out of bounds.

The control is not only varied, but easy to learn. Young ones will have no problem learning the basics. But once those basics are mastered, you'll find you can actually control the movement of the ball in air and many other things. This is a perfect game for long trips as tennis matches are quite long and trying to aquire the extra characters will take extra endurance. Once you start, you'll have to tornnn away from your GBC!

No doubt about it, if you like tennis and/or the Peanuts, you will love this game.

Honest reviews on Snoopy Tennis

Snoopy Tennis was put together well I think. It has a cute aspect to the game by favorite characters in the Peanuts comic strip to be in this game and you are competing against other characters too. the fun part is there too by the action of the tennis game going on and the Peanuts characters playing. characters in it are charlie Brown, Linus, Pig pen, Lucy and many others. I left my favorite one out Snoopy of course! The manufacturer Infogrames I think has made great games from this tennis game to another favorite of mine Driver.

Reviews of Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires

Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

_Okay. So I bought this game mainly on the basis of my friend's recommendation. I was extremely happy with it, and surprised by the sheer fun of this game. Kill hundreds of enemy soldiers using many many unique weapons and styles of combat, and conquor China. I won't go into every specific detail about gameplay, but I will say this was a very well made game. I'll break it down in an attempt to overview important buying info.

-Graphics: Good. Not great, but good. Game experiances phantom slowdowns every once in a while though. Not -oftenbut so far three times in the time I've played it. I've beaten the game once, and I'm halfway through it again.

-Music: To be honest I've never noticed the in-game music. Too busy slaughtering unworthy minions. I really like the menu backround music though. Catchy.

-Gameplay: It's been said in other reviews that you will encounter enemy officers so absurdly cheap that they will juggle you from full health to nothing without you ever hitting the ground. I bought this game assuming it was an exaggeration by frustrated gamers. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE :( Okay, with that out of the way, comes the other incredibly annoying point in gameplay. Archers/sourcers. Ranged attacks that will range from knocking you back (stopping your momentum), to knocking you straight on your butt. Absurdly cheap and annoying and they appear in large groups. Good news is that they don't deal any appreciable amount of damage and can be disposed of quickly enough. Bad news is that they tend to appear alongside cheap officers.

__Okay, those points made, comes the good news. Officers are (keywords here) *not commonly* that cheap. The game makes it however so you have to be just as cheap in defeating them to stand any chance. But it's possible. Take note that charged attack combos are your friends. And for fair warning, I just went around, killed 820 minions in a battle (took 25 minutes), then got double-teamed by two such cheap officers.

___My last issue with gameplay is arrows. You get a bow and can use it at will. Aiming and firing is quite simple, and it does a decent amount of damage. The main use for it is hitting distant archers or dismounting people riding on war elephants. (you get to ride elephants and horses in this game, yes). What's my beef? You get a very limited number of arrows to begin with, and finding them in battle is rare. I don't see any point in making a rarely used weapon even more worthless. It'd be *balanced* if you had unlimited, since I can take out literally 40 enemies for the time it takes to kill one via bow and arrow. So they really limited something already limited.

-Controls: Almost everything you'd want or need. Except the gaurd button. You are given a button that gaurds you against pretty much all attacks from the front. One would assume this would mean from just the very front, but apparently not. Enemy officers can block attacks even from the sides. You however, can only block attacks from the few pixels in the center of the screen. In other words, does not work 99% of the time. This would be a most negligible point since I've only ever needed to block against officers. Namely, the cheap ones. However, they can block with almost invernerability, while you can't ever block their attacks. Makes those cheap guys even more frustrating.

__Last point on controls however, you do get a taunt! Very funny, especially when you kill two or three people by taunting. In this catagory I'll list that the camera is of course in third person, and it works well. Gaurd button also functions to reorient the camera behind you, which you will need to do from time to time.

-Replay: A game's true value will always boil down to it's replay value. I think the replay value is high. You can always start a new conquoring campaign. And campaigns will always be different every time. The other empires struggling for control will do different things each time, form different alliances, invade different areas and all that. Plus...the campaign mode comes with a "fictional" mode, where you start a campaign with RANDOMLY placed enemies. That just makes it all so much more interesting.

-Edit character mode: The product hilight makes much mention of the character edit mode. It's slightly overrated however. The game gives you access to MANY, MANY unique weapons, which is a big plus. And any custom character can use any weapon. But when it comes down to making your stats, you get only 7 different pre-made sets to work with. Something I found out is that character's run speed, not listed in the stat sets, is also effected by what you choose. Anyway, when it comes to your character's model, the options you get for dressing them up is vastly limited. Definitely better than nothing, don't get me wrong. But for a system that supposedly has been upgraded from a previous game, couldn't they give me more than 3 different heads for my chosen body type?

__In basic, it's nice, but don't expect as much as you'd get from the latest Wrestlemania game.

-Multiplayer: Weak at best. Don't get this game expecting it to be a fantastic multiplayer game. You get four different verses battles, none of which is particularly exiting. Co-op story mode would have been very easily programmed in, and this game would have been fantastic with it. Oh well.

-Other notes: This is definitely a slaher game, but it has its strategy elements to it. Pick who you bring into battle, what political moves you make, manage your gold. How you use your leadership may make your life incredibly difficult or easy, depending on what you do and what sort of luck you have that game. Remember things are different each time, so choose your decisions wisely.

_I gave this a fun rating of 5, because I think it is, but overall is 4 due to cheap officer fights. A little bit of cheapness here and there wouldn't be aggrevating, but spending 25 minutes decimating close to a kilo of troops to be gang-raped by two cheap officers? That's just not cool. As I said before, luckily it doesn't happen often, but if you play through the campaign mode it will happen to you, no doubt.

_I would rate this title a definite buy. How it stands against other Dynasty games I do not know, as this is my first. If that is the information you seek, I'd advise reading articles posted by others who have played them. Standing alone, this is a very fun game however.

Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires (DW4E) is one of the funnest if not the funnest PS2 game that I own. It takes a number of the characters from the Chinese book "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and allows you to play them and fight out epic battles. The style of gameplay during battles in DW4E is the same as all of the games in the Dynasty Warriors series hack n slash, meaning that you basically run around tapping your attack buttons and killing hordes of enemies and finding powerups on the battlefield. After each battle, depending on how many enemy soldiers you've killed and how many "worthy opponents"(opposing generals) you've defeated and how many casualties your force took your warrior will level up. Here is where DW4E is different than the rest: Outside of battle there is a map of ancient China and it is divided into territories controlled by different generals. From here you will choose which region to invade or defend and also your generals will present policies to you to act out. Policies range from healing armies, recruiting local generals, forming alliances, building new items, trading items, building smiths to improve your weapon levels and so on. One of the best features is that you can choose to play any of the generals in your force during battle, which means you can play every general in your force during every different battle or just stick to powering one up. The entire Empire element adds alot to the original DW4 and in my opinion, makes DW4E a better game entirely. There is also an advanced character edit mode -you can create your own general using quite a few different models and fighting styles. Also, if you've played DW4 and have used the character edit option, you'll notice that your created character will only have a silouhette for a portrait. Not so in DW4E. The created characters look and act just like the real generals (although they don't have as cool of outfits as the real generals IMO). There is also a VS. mode allowing you to play head to head with a human or CPU player with 4 different modes (to be honest I haven't really played the VS. mode much). And like all Dynasty games there is an Archives that will allow you to view artwork and backgrounds of each general. If you are a fan of addicting hack n slash action with a mild strategic element involved (believe me it is MILD, not hard to figure out at all and DOES NOT affect gameplay if you're not one who likes that sort of thing), then pick this game up and give it a try. If you are a fan of the Dynasty Series, this is a must have!

Pros:

-Empires mode adds a whole new spin on gameplay

-Advanced character edit gives you more options and makes you feel more a part of the game due to character portraits

-Archive mode allows you to identify more with each General

-Replay value is high due to being able to conquer the map using lots of different combinations of Generals

-Graphics are good and the soundtrack is even better never gets annoying and doesn't overpower the gameplay

-Play as any general in your force at any time even the generic looking men (the ones you will most likely use as liutenats)

-Recruit your favorite generals to create an army full of favorites

Cons:

-Too many generic looking generals/liutenants there are only 3 different character styles for the generic (not main) generals

Best Deals for Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires

I bought this game expecting it to be one of the best games I had ever played based on what I had heard about it but I was somewhat let down. Firstly, there is a serious lack of gameplay modes. Granted, it is only a thirty dollar game but even so, DW4: XL had at least two game modes; Legend mode and Xtreme mode. This game only has one main mode and that is the empires mode which is killer but I crave more.

Secondly, there is no option that allows you to play empires mode with a second player. The two player co op mode was what interested me in the dynasty warrior series to begin with. There's just something about teaming up with a pal to conquer China. The closest thing you can get to this sort of two player hack and slash fun is the versus mode though it's not as fun because I end up losing more often than not. Co op I like; versus, uh, not so much. The game should have included a 2p co op free mode or something so I don't have to change videogames everytime I want to indulge in two player beat downs. Also, you never really get the sense that your guys are improving. In the original DW4 half the fun was powering up your character so that he could go back and kick the crap out of all the characters he had trouble with before ie Lu Bu but in this game once you beat the game all the improvements made to your charcter are wiped clean.

But getting back to the positive, the empires mode is really cool. It is like the Xtreme mode from XL only much more developed. You are able to play as kingdoms and characters you never could before. Kick (...) as Ma Teng or Liu Zhang(even if they are just generic looking officers) When you beat the empires mode you will be treated to an interesting ending with plenty of Japanese rock music to keep you entertained. Gotta love it! Also the chacter edit is much better, which was my only real beef with the first two versions. Your officer actually looks like a real charcter and not a cheap generic loser with an empty sihlouette(sic? probably) for a charcter model.

Anyway, I would have to say this game is definitely a keeper for the Dynasty warriors fan, although all of the hardcore fans probably already have it by now. As a stand alone one player game it is probably better than Xtreme legends but I can't give a five star rating to a game with no co op story mode. To paraphrase the soup nazi from Seinfeld, NO FIVE STAR RATING FOR YOU!!!

Honest reviews on Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires

This game blends the action of Dynasty Warriors series with strategy from Romance of The Three Kingdoms game. The in-game graphic is excellent, maybe the best on PS2. The cut scenes were disappointing, its not real CGI but the game engine's graphic, Grrrrrrrr. The Chinese style music is nice. The action is awesome, true hack & slash heaven!

Unlike previous DW games which had you playing fixed stages one after another, the only cool part was beefing up the weapons but you still play the same levels if you start a new game, which gets old rather quick. Empires gives the option of playing 'free' stages due to the map of China design. Here you try to unify the whole China province/state by province, 25 total. So you can choose where to attack, each province's battle field are all different and nicely designed. During each turn your officers will propose different actions(two from each officers), these actions are basically everything a ROTK's menu would have EXCEPT they are made into a CARD game style, the officers' proposals are completely random. IMO this part is well designed, it gets to the point, most cards have healing troops which allows you to invade after 1 or 2 turns.

The action part is totally awesome. Fighting hundreds and hundreds of ancient Chinese armies. There are cool units like Juggernut(A wheeled wooden tank with fire spiting tiger head), wooden carts(Used by the famous Zhuge Liang), witches, and more. The AI is smart in battle, much better than previous DWs. The AI is smart on the main map too.

Koei did a really good job on this game. Its better than all previous DWs and its only $30. Can't wait for DW 5.

Update: This game is WAY better than Dynasty Warriors 5.

This is game is very fun. It is a great game, as it can kind of teach you about the ancient civilizations of China and how the feudal hierarchy works. It is also great for gaming freaks or it can be something you can take your anger out on, because sometimes there is a great big group of enemies and you just rush through and slash them all down or use your musou attack and massacre a dozen at a time. It is a great game.

You also have other features like VS mode where you can fight against a Player 2 in different verse modes, and Edit Mode where you get to create your own custom character and add details to it, including what kind of weapon he/she holds, voice, clothes, and more. There is also an art gallery where you are able to view people in the game.

But, a game always has its down-sides to it, and that is why I rated this game's overall four stars. One of the cons is, when you are fighting, and archers some distance away are shooting at you and you keep getting stunned right there on the spot, and just when you are getting out of the stun, another one hits you, and the other archer right next to him hits you, and the other archer, and the other archer... It takes a while for you to get all the way up to them and slash them. Another con is the sorceresses. They are extremely annoying. They come in about groups of five or so. They keep hitting you with their spells and you keep falling down, just like the archers, except sorceresses are more powerful. They are also worse. They keep stunning you right there on the spot and you can't get up off the ground for like thirty seconds, because everytime you get up, another spell hits you and you fall back down again. Soon, you are forced to waste away your musou gauge for that little group of five sorceresses, and if you don't want to waste it, then you will be wasting your time running up to that group trying to slash them, and when you are one inch from them, they hit you again, and they run away to give you another distance to run to hit them. The last con, is when an enemy officer is riding an elephant and they just happen to corner you... This is the worst con in the whole game... They will run up to you and you will fall down, and push you up to a corner, and since they are after you, they will keep riding into that corner with their elephant and you will keep getting hit over and over and over again, and you can't escape because the elephant is so big you can't even move. You are just stuck there until you lose that battle. It is very cheap. That is the reason I rated this game four stars. It is still a pretty good game, but watch out for these.

Wireless Wii U Pro Controller to PC USB Adapter Reviews

Wireless Wii U Pro Controller to PC USB Adapter

Purchased this on a whim along with the PS3 version and so far I am extremely impressed. Install drivers > plug in adapter > sync controller, DONE. (I used on Windows 8.1 system with Steam Big Picture and other non steam games, all worked flawlessly.)

You can toggle between D/Xinput on the adapter though I've mostly only used the Xinput. The computer will recognize the controller as an Xbox 360 controller which is great, but also brings me to the one drawback I found. Even though it is recognized as an XBOX 360 controller, the ABXY mapping is Nintendo's version, not the standard XBox 360 placement. This throws me off enough in some games that I am using the Dualshock 3 controller + adapter instead (which maps the same as an XBOX 360 controller.)

If Mayflash releases a driver that will allow the user to change the ABXY mapping, this would definitely be my wireless controller of choice for PC gaming.

Alright guys, I got my Wii U Pro Controller adapter a while ago and played with it for quite a bit. Here are my impressions:

1 First off, it comes with the adapter itself and a mini-CD with the drivers on it or you can download them from Mayflash's website. Installation takes only a few moments and then you are ready to sync.

2 Hit the sync button on your Wii U Pro Controller of choice and hit the sync button on the adapter and the Player 1 light on the controller will stay light.

3 Every single button works flawlessly including the home button (see below) and the power button (if held down for 2 secs, it will turn the controller off!) and to wake the controller back up, hit any button and its ready to go again :)

4 The adapter has a switch on it which allows you to make the PC see it as two different types of controllers: Xinput and Direct

A The xinput setting tricks the computer making it see the controller as a 360 controller so it seems like most games will immediately switch the controller layout to a 360 flawlessly. Every single button works including the Home button like for an example: On a GFWL game it will bring up the Xbox Live Menu or if you are on Steam, it will switch it over to Big Screen Mode. But be warned, the layout on the controller matches the button letters on a 360 controller. So the A button on the Wii U is the A button on the 360 controller, which if you know anything about each controller, they are in different spots. It happens to work out just fine bc X/A on a 360 controller is near the right joystick and on the Wii U Pro X/A even though in different positions, happens to be right next the joystick as well so it works just fine. Also, you can be using xinput and also be using a 360 controller for the another player and both work perfect (and the player # lights match up correctly)!

B Direct mode works completely different. When switch to this setting Windows will see the Wii U Pro as a generic controller like something from Logitech or MadCatz. If you go to your Device Manager you can see the controller (labeled under Mayflash Adapter) and it is fully functional but now all the buttons are labeled as Button 1, 2, 3 ect. So anways, With this setting turned on, and once a game is launched, none of the keybinds are bound to the controller so you must use the keyboard and mouse and go to options and set each keybind in game to a button of your choice. I tried this on Skyrim, Tomb Raider, & LEGO Lord of the Rings and it worked but its not as convenient, but it would allow you to modify the controls unlike if you were using a 360 controller. Also apparently, using direct mode would allow you to connect up to 4 Wii U Pro controllers using one adapter but I haven't tried this yet.

So what do I think of it? Its absolutely perfect. Installation is super simple and even faster. Turning the controller on and off works perfect and after playing wiith it in Tomb Raider, Skyrim, LEGO games, Batman Arkham City, Dark Souls, Darksiders, Castlevania, and even Need for Speed, I truly had no problems with it at all with the exception of getting use to a slightly different controller layout. It works exactly as advertise! I personally think Xinput mode is the way to go if you want to make it fast and simple but direct mode is also great if you are into binding your own button layout to your liking.

For around $20-25, I totally recommend this adapter if you love the Wii U Pro Controller like I do! I

Very easy to install and works well. I tried the turbo mode feature, just experimenting and it works nicely. When I held home and held a button, it set it into an auto fire mode. Not sure if this is an undocumented feature or a glitch in the program I was using.

I'm very happy with this product and would buy it again.

Never have I seen the likes of this game. I played all the Tony Hawk games. I was really sad in Tony Hawk 2x. It was ok. I played Tony Hawk 3 on my Playstation and when I played it, I knew the X-Box version would just be something tou could never think of. With the Internet connection and Bam Margera in the mix this game would be the best skateboard game right now.

With each new Tony Hawk release comes higher expectations. Tony Hawk 3 met and exceeded those expectations. More eye-boggling special tricks were added as well as the essential Revert trick, which, like the all powerful Manuel, allows players to link tricks together and create HUGE comboes for maximum points. Bigger, more realistic looking levels are just BEGGING to be tricked on. The variety of multiplayer modes will give you and your buds hours and hours of entertainment. Create-a-Park and Create-a-Skater are included again, and have been much improved. Not having to buy tricks or stats (stats have to be FOUND instead), and also being able to outfit your character a LOT more thoroughly makes for a much more innovative gaming experience. Being able to listen to your own music instead of being forced to listen to the game's music can make playing more enjoyable. Ollie, the Magic Bum from THPS2 is a playable character!

There were only a few aspects of the game that I didn't particularily like. The first one is the fact that most of the soundtrack for the game wasn't very good. It was just too mainstream. The other thing I didn't like was that on Create-a-Park, there was a limit to the number of gaps you could make. Something that other people may not like is the control sceme. If you think about it, it's VERY similar to how the N64 controller worked with the Tony Hawk games. It might take a little getting used to, but the controls are fine. If you still don't like the controller, I suggest for you to consider buying the new, smaller, easier button pressing controller made by Microsoft. It's called CONTROLLER S.

Avoiding ending on some bad notes I will simply say this: If you are an Xbox owner or are thinking of being one, then you NEED to get this game.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 stands tall as one of the best console games out there. Expect to see Tony Hawk 4 on all three "next-gen" platforms this holiday season!!!

This game is really good. I am on the Tokyo level and I am trying to beat that and getting very close. The levels that I have played are very interactive and big. The controller is not to big, and I would know cuz I am thirteen but very small for my age and the controller fits MY hands perfectly. Buy this game if you have played and liked or loved the previous Tony Hawks.........

i have favored the tony hawk series in the past. it is not really fun to me as it used to be, but this is a great game, it might have its drawbacks, but despite the time it was made, the controls are pretty good.

as for the xbox 360 compatibility. it works perfect, you can save games to your hard drive, the vibration feature works too. so for those with the xbox 360 and not sure if it works or not, i am informing you it works

Thank you, Tony Hawk, for finally forcing a game developer to create, distribute and support a good skating game. Great artwork, physics and maps are all hallmarks of this cutting edge video game.

The gameplay is excellent and the corses are challenging. The variations on the controls allow the user to be creative and still achieve the goals. I am still learning new tricks and raising my point levels.

The inclusion of the manual trick has completed changed the game and opened up tremendous new opportunities for the user.

Excellent buy.

My son love airplanes this is fun game ! For 7-8 yrs he has a lot fun bcs can explore some places and good for kids...

Honest reviews on MySims Sky Heroes - Xbox 360

We got this video because our six-year old son loves simulated flying videos and games AND it's geared toward kids. We're delighted that it doesn't contain swearing, sexual references, or gore. However, watching it makes me quite motion sick (though it doesn't have this effect on our son). And the other characters are constantly breaking over the radio with messages in some nonsense language. There are a number of special weapons that one can acquire but they're only explained in text (as opposed to audio) for a few seconds, so they're easy to miss.

Flying in many video games is somewhat challenging and the same is true for MySims Sky Heroes. Oddly, it requires more coordination and practice than some adult flying games. One of our guests, who is less devoted to flying than our son, gave up on the game after about five minutes.

The adapter I received is not the same one as the one seen in the picture or the other video review. My adapter has no thread to screw onto the TV's port and it's not big enough to fit on there in the first place.

It doesn't fit any of my TV's or the RF modulator seen in the video. It's not too difficult to remove the end of the adapter, but I shouldn't have to. This wasn't what I was expecting.

My grandmother had an Atari 2600 that I used to play when I came over as a kid. She decided she was going to throw it out but I told her I would take it instead. The only problem was that connector would not hook up to my modern flat screen. I searched the web for something to let me play my old games again and found this. At first I was skeptical but finally broke down and bought it. Turns out it works great! The picture of my Atari is crystal clear on my TV. Definitely a purchase that should be made for anyone with an old video game system, such as the Atari.

So much has been written about Deus Ex (pro's and con's) that I'll just say the there is nothing different in the Japan import. All the good things and all the bad things are still there. But I like this game for it"s huge amount of content, design and graphics. I prefer FPS's and this is one of the best. "The game might as well stayed unreleased..." I don't agree with this at all! I personally appreciate the effort of Square to give us this game a game we otherwise would not have. FFA should be a game in your PSX library. 2 for 1 can't beat that. I feel as though even "new-school" gamers who played FF7 first would find these games entertaining. Now as far as the comment in the editorial about FF5, this game is the hardest in the series, next to the FF3 that Japan got (for the original NES). The bosses are hard, and mastering the job system in this game takes a lot of effort. Try going through this game without dying on a few bosses and you can consider yourself an FF expert.

My hat's off to Square for releasing these games to us hardcore gamers in North America. FF VI is arguably the best RPG in the 16-bit genre, and FF V, technically being a new game to North America, make this an unbeatable package. Square must know this, because they're doing it again with Final Fantasy Chronicles (FF IV and Chrono Trigger). Smart move if you ask me. Gamers like me will be first in line to get this compilation when it comes out. Meanwhile, if you see this somewhere and you don't own it, buy it! You won't regret it.

Final Fantasy VI, or 3 on the Super Nintendo, was the second console RPG I played. (The first was "Lagoon" on the SNES, which was good.) I still believe that FF6 is one of the best of the Final Fantasy series. It has excellent character development, a good story, and for the first time, a villain with a background and personality. Up until this point, most RPG villains were "Mwa, ha ha, I'm Evil!!!" villains who were evil to have someone evil in the story. In FF6, Emperor Ghestalt and Kefka are deeper than that. One realizes too late that his greed has doomed him, the other is insane because he was the subject of magical/medical experiments. I have played this game six times, more than any other RPG.

Final Fantasy V was good. While I think FF6 was a little better, this is the first time FF5 was released in the US. It was interesting, and obviously the predecessor of the job system used in Final Fantasy Tactics. I think it was worth playing.

Best Deals for Final Fantasy Anthology (Final Fantasy V & VI)

I wish there was more re-releasing old, classic games for new systems. I suppose some might see it as the companies just trying to squeeze more money from old games, but I love being able to play these games on new systems, and the addition of new features is always fun to experience.

As far as collections go, this is a very good one. Final Fantasy 6, originally 3, is a classic game, and considered by some to be the best FF ever. I can't say I think it's the best, but it is definitely an exceptional game that was even more remarkable when it was first released. It does already seem dated in many ways. At the same time, this is the final game in the series where you can experience the classic, 2D FF that many fans of the series have grown up with.

This game does have an excellent cast of characters, and one of the better storylines in the series. The espers, the first real summon monsters, are really cool, and theres somewhere around 30 of them, much more than any other game, which I like. Each character has unique abilities and weapons, which makes for great variety. A very fun old school RPG.

The graphics were amazing at the time, but already seem pretty dated. The sound as well. The music that was written for the game is some of Uematso's best, but the sound capabilities of the SNES are just too dated. If they improved anything, I wish they would have improved sound quality a bit. Also, the CG scenes they added were disappointing to me. They weren't that badly done, but I thought that they would be peppered throughout the game at the appropriate spots, which they weren't. They were only at the beginning and end, which I find disappointing. I guess they wanted the actual experience of playing the game to be identical to how it was on the SNES. I wouldn't have minded some small improvements, personally. Overall, they did a good job.

FF 5 was a real surprise, and it was great to play a brand new old style FF, never before released in the US. Lots of the reviews on Amazon say that it is really a sub-par game. I have to say I strongly disagree...I think its a great FF game. If you enjoyed FF 4 and 6, I think you'll definitely like 5. The graphics and sound are similar to FF 4. The gameplay is what makes the game so good though. You can switch your characters between the variety of job classes like in FF Tactics or FF X-2, and learn a large variety of different skills, then mix and match them. It's a very primitive form of the job class system, sure, but it's still really cool, considering the age of the game. I also really enjoyed the story of the game...it was about as good as FF 4. Theres a part where you're navigating through a graveyard of pirate ships infested with ghosts and zombies that is totally classic. I would definitely recommend giving FF 5 a chance. It is old and outdated, but definitely lives up to the quality of the FF series.

Now, a quick word about the music disc...it's pathetic. An absolute waste of time. If anyone could actually listen to that disc and get into the music on it, I'd say you have serious issues. It's tinny SNES sound, taken directly from the games. I can't imagine it would have been too much work to throw some real orchestrated versions (they are available in Japan) of the songs on here...that would have been great. Furthermore, they chose a bunch of the worst songs to include on the disc and left out many of the best. Terrible.

But, you won't be buying this collection for the music disc. The games are what matters, and they are quality, faithful ports of the originals. Highly recommended for people who want to walk down memory lane with some great old games.

Having followed the development of Neverwinter Nights for almost two years now, I think I have a feel for what this game will mean to Computer Role-Playing Games.

Neverwinter Nights (NWN) is not a Massively Multiplayer Game, it wasn't designed to be such. It is not a single-player Game although it will ship with a single-player campaign. NWN was designed for a small group of players (up to 64 currently) to play through 4-5 hour modules (adventures) very similar to the way Pen and Paper Role-Playing campaigns are structured.

One person controls one character either totally independently or under the supervision of a live DM that can control the playing environment (for instance scaling back an encounter that is too tough for the players).

To PnP roleplayers this game will be a dream come true, a chance to move into the computer game world and create modules without having to learn complicated graphic arts and computer programming techniques. It will also be attractive to the MMORPG player who is tired of the endless pointless series of combats who craves a Roleplaying experience. It will challenge Mod Designers who have up-to-now had their own private playgrounds due to the steep learning curve cost of entering the world of Module Design.

Will this lead to a plethora of modules being produced (most of them bad)? I personally hope so, because as with PnP roleplaying it was typically never the bought modules that yielded the memorable experiences.

Neverwinter Nights will not be Baldur's Gate and it will not be EverQuest. It will be something different, its own game.

Perhaps the best that can be said about Neverwinter Nights is that it comes very close to fulfilling all the hype that lead up to its release. It isn't, however, going to put Wizards of the Coast out of business. Here is why.

The Aurora toolset is powerfulvery powerful. Probably too powerful, as it is difficult to learn and slow to use. I'm a computer programmer that has also acted as a pen and paper Dungeon Master, yet I still haven't quite worked up the urge to delve into all those tutorials and menus. The main problem with building your own modules is that you have to pick and place everything, which takes literally forever. Also, the editor has some odd quirks and limitations, and if you use hacks or scripts can screw up the game very easily. You are well advised to backup everything before you do anything.

The single play campaign is very long and quite challenging. The plot is good, and the characters have more than one dimension. Unfortunately, it shares some of the elements of the only other 3rd edition D&D CRPGPool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. That is to say, there are way too many dumb 'Fed Ex quests,' and the graphics seem squarish and get very repetitive. It is still a good deal better than that game, however, as combat is actually fun and the NPCs do more than just tell you to go somewhere and find something.

As for stability issues, if you don't hack there probably won't be too many. However, once in a while you might encounter inexplicable and often serious bugs. For example, sometimes items vanish or stop working for no apparent reason. I've also seen savegames get corrupted, which is bad but not impossibly so, since you can export and restart a chapter. It's advisable you keep several saves and update them at intervals in case something breaks.

Aside from its flaws, NWN has a great look and 3rd Edition feel. The rules aren't nearly as faked as they are in Pool of Radiance, though some spells and feats are modified to be workable with the real-time system. That said, not all of the rules are implemented, but quite a few are. I have to admit I was astonished at how thorough a job BioWare did... although my opinion might be skewed due to having played through the entire Pool of Radiance game (still can't believe I did that). As is to be expected, the spells look fantastic, and combat is generally exciting and fun. You'll encounter scores of different monsters, and they each look unique and well done.

The interface is easy to learn, especially for veterans of Baldur's Gate or similar games. As with its 2-D predecessor, you can pause the game to issue commands. You do not control a party any longer, however, and can have at most three followers (a henchman, familiar/animal companion, and summoned creature). The followers' artificial intelligence is passing, but not too great. Perhaps the community or BioWare will improve on it with future patches. If there's one thing at all that hasn't changed in the makeover from Infinity engine to Aurora, it has to be the path-finding. It's still horrible, and despite the fact that I like NWN in general, I can't think of an excuse for this. It's as if BioWare has been deaf to player's comments for the last few years... I hope they remedy it somehow.

Despite its pitfalls, Neverwinter Nights goes a long way to addressing the need for a customizable computer D&D experience. It is definitely a revolutionary step up from Baldur's Gate in terms of this aspect, and it has a great deal of potential. I am looking forward to seeing what BioWare is going to do with this proprietary engine in the future. For now, all those who enjoyed the Infinity engine games or wish to try out a D&D CRPG are heartily encouraged to get a copy of Neverwinter Nights.

Best Deals for Neverwinter Nights - PC

Neverwinter Nights is a great single-player game. Neverwinter Nights is a great multiplayer game. Neverwinter Nights is a great all-around game. 1,2,3, the cat ran up the tree.

Really, though, it is a great game. I have a sort of souped-up computer now (3 Ghz processor, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 128 MB graphics card) so the graphics run smoothly no matter how high the settings are. On my older computer, though (1.8 Ghz processor, 256 MB RAM, cheap Intel graphics card) it didn't work as well, so if your computer isn't great it might not runn so well. Overall, the gameplay is great; it isn't too hack-and-slash, the single-player campaign is superb, and I think it does a pretty good job of porting the D&D 3rd Edition rules (though I, being too young to have played the original pencil-and-paper D&D, wouldn't really know). Still, there are a couple minor flaws you should know about when deciding whether or not to buy the game:

1. Henchman (i.e. any companion you may have). There a few issues here. The first, and most glaring, is that you can only have one (excluding any people you are leading somewhere as part of a quest and familiars [animals or whatever that you summon via magic]). Still, when you play the game, you might be glad of this, because the pathfinding for henchmen is really inexcusably abysmal. Lots of times rounding a corner is enough to make your henchman freeze in his/her tracks and stay where he/she is until you come back and "bait" him/her out by inching along. Also, you can't control your henchman's inventory (although you can in the expansion). This, I suppose, is only a pain if you are a shady player who likes to take all he can from his henchman and sell it. But it can be troublesome if they have a good weapon that they aren't using and that you want.

2. Pathing in general. Pretty self-explanatory. The camera is rather awkward, which makes it even harder. Combine this with henchman pathing and you have a real pain.

3. The instruction manual. This is the biggest, baddest problem. Like I said, I have no clue how the original D&D was played; when it was in vogue, I was an embryo. I don't know what character class is. The term "skill modifier" is a mystery to me. And what is a "saving throw?" Here's a real gem, straight from the manual: "Only rogues may disarm traps with a DC over 35 or greater. With 5 or more ranks in Set Traps a character gains a +2 synergy bonus on Disable Trap checks." and there's more: "Standing still provides a +5 bonus to a Listen Check. A character with the Alertness feat gains a +2 synergy bonus on listen checks." And also, it was only after much ponderings that I realized that the often-referred to "2d6" meant a 6-sided die rolled twice, and "1d8" is an 8-sided die rolled once. And why does a "Greatsword +1" cost about 50,000 times more that a regular Greatsword? The list goes on and on.

4. Turn-based combat. For "turn-based" read "dumb, pointless and frustrating." For no real reason, there is a 5 or 6 second delay between each combat action. A zombie will swing a fist; the character will duck. A HUGE pause. You will swing your sword. The zombie may or may not duck. Why the pause? It conveys no sense of "my turn, your turn." Is it to make all the necessary "skill checks," "saving throws," and "dice rolls?" Come on, folks. This is a computer. It can do 20 times that amount of simple math in a millisecond.

Well, anyway. It's a great game, just these minor details. Get it.

Honest reviews on Neverwinter Nights - PC

Let me preface by saying that I followed NWN's development almost from the moment it was announced. I waited with great anticipation for its release and paid full price for it the day it came out. I was ready to overlook some minor flaws because I had seen the game and read the hype and I just knew it was right up my alley.

I want to give this game more than 3 stars, I really do, and I don't want anyone to get the impression that this is not a fantastic feat of programming, because it absolutely is, but there are disappointments that must be addressed.

First of all, the game is skewed toward melee classes. I played a monk with a cleric henchman and had no need for a magic user. The appeal of D&D and other RPGs is the fact that different skills are needed and that they enhance one another. In NWN, at least in the included campaign, fighters and healers will do the job. Magic-users are superfluous.

Second, money and treasure are far too easy to acquire. Upon completing the single player game, my monk had several hundred thousand gold pieces and was selling nice enchanted weapons and armor because he couldn't hold them and already had the top of the line. This kills the incentive to continue in a big way.

Third, your character maxes out at level 20. If you play the single player game all the way through, you will get to level 20, period. It is too easy to get there and once you do get there, what next? Why keep playing that character online or elsewhere? Another incentive killer.

Fourth, the pre-release press promised everything the 3rd ed rules had. In anticipation, I purchased the Monster Manual. Well, most of the monsters aren't in the game (not just the single player, but the toolset as well), including some very popular opponents, and there's no way to create your own monsters, so unless BioWare plans to release a monster library, you're stuck with just a few of the monsters. Examples of missing monsters include Kobolds, Gelatinous Cubes, Owlbears, and Manticores, just to name a few.

Fifth, the toolset is very easy if you just want to place monsters and treasure, but if you want to add some complex puzzles, you will have to learn C++ (or a close facsimile). Don't expect to fire it up and whip out a creative module. It will take some time, and be prepared for all of your locations to be rectangular grids.

Having said all this, NWN is a good game, but it is not the ultimate CRPG. I would recommend it for all CRPG fans, but you may want to let the price drop a tad. In the meantime, I'm crossing my fingers for a FREE monster expansion.

After the release of the Baldur's Gate franchise, players were amazed by the level of depth and scope that could be crammed into one gaming experience. Bioware had successfully captured the D&D tabletop experience, enriching it with superb graphics, a likable cast complete with convincing voice-dialogue, and a fantasy world immersed in epic grandeur. Neverwinter Nights, Bioware's follow-up to the Baldur's Gate series, is a great step forward in developing what players can expect from a role-playing game.

Foregoing the aging Infinity engine, the creators have instead utilized a new fully 3-D Aurora engine to give players a more graphically impressive and technologically current game. Unfortunately, while Aurora is very powerful and 3-D environments is logically the next step in gaming experience, the new engine saps a lot of the vitality found in the Baldur's Gate series. Locations seem constructed by an amateur programmer, with a lot of the buildings, characters, and enemies lacking any sort of inspiration. Even fantastic creatures such as dragons, which should look menacing, are presented as comical by the blocky graphics that Aurora produces. Traversing through environments, especially the dreary city of Neverwinter, is a mundane experience and not particulary captivating.

Gameplay wise, Neverwinter Nights translates faithfully the D&D core rules. Class skills, feats, character kits, and more are all here and much further developed than in the Baldur's Gate series. It's not just decorative either: the skills and feats you choose your character to specialize in can impact how you play the game and how other characters react to you, making Neverwinter Nights a very interactive world. Combat still unfolds the same way, with "to hit" ratio determining your proficiency in battle while your "armor class" determines whether you walk out of a battle with a scratch or in need of serious medical attention. You gain levels much quicker than you would in Baldur's Gate, which can be a good thing until your character becomes near-invincible towards the end of the story and the game becomes less and less of a challenge. But this can all be remedied by cranking up the difficulty factor of the game if you don't want to slaughter through hordes of enemies with relative ease.

The interface of Neverwinter Nights is arguably an improvement over Baldur's Gate. Character Sheets, Inventory Screen, Journal and Map are all one click away and hover transparantly over the game so you can still guide your character as you ransack through your posessions or determine which location to visit next. It's an innovative idea, but it furthers the impression that Neverwinter Nights is more of a Beta version of a greater game rather than a finished product. The interface is too simplistic for its own good, reminding the audience that they're playing a game instead of immersing them in the Dungeon and Dragons experience.

In the end, Neverwinter Nights is a great accomplishment but a rather flawed and forgettable game. The graphic engine for Temple of Elemental Evil is much more elegant and beautiful, and you'll miss the group chattering of your Baldur's Gate party when you can only travel with one other companion in the Neverwinter cycle. Bioware is capable of producing a much more ambitious and rich D&D experience, and if they can strike the right balance between TOEE's graphics and interface, NWN's improvement of the class system especially prestige class, and Baldur Gate's memorable cast, main plot, and subplots, then a truly remarkable game can be concieved. Until then, the company's upcoming "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" should satisfy fans for now who are still waiting for the perfect D&D game.

I really enjoy using the Raiders Face-Plate on my wireless controller. It dresses up my controller quite nicely. Also, it shows my loyalty to my favorite NFL Football Team. What's really neat is that you can get one of these face-plates for any of the 32 teams in the NFL. I bought the Dallas Cowboys face-plate for a good friend of mine and he loved it. The best thing about this product is that it just snaps into place on the existing controller WITH NO INSTALLATION REQUIRED!

Looks like I'll be the first to review this item. This game actually includes two games. One KoF 2002 and KoF 2003. 2002 is good, a little hard here and there but nothing serious. It has a large selection of characters, even ones from the first Art of Fighting. Ryo and Robert. The best one in my opinion is KoF 2003, because it actually has a storyline! :0 KoF hasn't had a storyline since 98' I believe. But it has a bit less in character choices, but offers more dynamic gameplay in return. Terry also has a new look. You can also play as King! The powerfull fighter I haven't seen in a KoF besides this one. King is from Art of Fighting too. Ash is also available to play as. As well as Shingo, Kyo, and Iori. Two possible endings are available (I don't know if they're more.) one rarer than the other. So buy it now! It IS the King of Fighting Games.

I just want to inform anyone else who is wondering. Only 2002 works for the 360. 2003 doesn't work, but for some reason the xbox website says they both work.

I love this game, even though I can only play 2002. The only gripe I have with KOF 2002 is the graphics. And it's probably because of the 360's backwards compatibility, but on the 360 when you play the game, you can clearly see grid lines on pretty much every character. I don't know if that's how it is the original xbox, but that's how it looks on the 360. It's more noticeable on some characters than others. I can look past it, but can you?

And 2002 is uncensored, which means there's blood and Mai's bounce.

Bought it to play on my 360. King of Fighters is one of my favorite series and I have fond memories of the late 90's early 2000's playing them at the arcade before and after we went to movies for hours.

Let me start out by saying I had this game on the original Xbox and loved it. SNK makes awesome fighters, especially the KOF series. I sold my Xbox and all the games a few years ago when I went off to college. A few months ago I picked up a 360 Elite and decided to get my fighters' collection going again. Backwards compatibility was one of the selling points, and the Xbox website has this game as listed 360 compatible. Silly me to just confide in that alone. But after all, my Street Fighter Anniversary works perfectly on my 360, so I expected nothing different for this game. Well, the KOF 2002 disc is VERY glitchy. Parts of backgrounds glitch in and out and the arms and legs of characters disappear during gameplay. There are grids that appear over top of the characters. The KOF 2003 disc is completely unreadable. At first, I thought I just had defective software. I drove over to my friend's house who still has his original Xbox and both discs played perfectly. After searching the web, I came across other people who've had the same problem. There is even a Wiki page dedicated to how well each original Xbox game plays on the 360. I wish I had done my research first rather than blindly believe what the Xbox website showed.

Some people may find it unfair for me to rate the game so low when it is an awesome game but just not compatible with the 360. This is how I see it; I am reviewing the overall product in its entirety; KOF 2002/2003 on Xbox is advertised as being compatible/ playable on the 360 by Microsoft themselves. I bought the game on this pretense. It proved to be false, and since I no longer have an original Xbox, this game is no good to me. I still rated it 5 stars for fun since it is in and of itself an awesome game, and if Microsoft were true to their word and it was compatible, I would've given it 5 stars overall.

For anyone who does have an original Xbox and is a fighting game fan, I'm sure you already have this game and know how sweet it is. And if you decide to get a 360, hold on to your original Xbox 'cause 360 'backwards compatibility' is a joke.
