Vs Mode: Play with friends near or far.

An Achievement feature and ability to create your own Zombie Avatar.

Published by Popcap, who also made Peggle and Zuma.

First I'll just say that I am fairly obsessed with this game, whatever the platform. With it's originality, inventive game play, and the wide array of mini-games and puzzles makes this is one of the best games I've ever played, especially on the DS. With the stylus, control is even easier. And the fact I can play this on the go is a huge selling point.

Plants Vs. Zombies is basically a "tower defense" type game, in the sense that you must defend your house from approaching zombies using your large arsenal of funny little plants.

Thanks to it's simple game mechanics and easy learning curve, this a great game for all ages. The main game itself isn't very challenging (may prove a nice challenge for younger players). However, once you beat the game a first time, the difficulty is ramped up a bit with your second play-through.

There are 5 modes with 10 levels each:

Day Time

Night Time

Pool

Fog

Roof

Yes, it's also a bit short, but the replay value is immense; you'll find yourself wanting to play through again and again. Like collecting things? Sometimes throughout the level a little present will appear on screen if you click it, the plant inside will be sent to your own personal garden!

Story wise it's almost non-existent, but it's there. It's nice of them to throw it in there though, as unnecessary as it is.

The game looks almost identical to the versions on both the Xbox 360 and PC, with the sprites remade for the DS and looking quite fantastic on such a small screen.

From day one people have said, "Hey, this game would be perfect on the DS. Too bad it will probably never happen."

Well, it's happened, and it's incredibly well done.

There's just so much to do in this game, and, selling for only $20, this is a must buy. It's a game people will be talking about for years to come, so don't miss out on the fun!

I LOVE Plants vs Zombies. I've played it through multiple times on the PC. The game is super fun and extremely easy to get into. My 7 year old daughter and husband play it as well.

With that said, I was curious to see how it plays on the DS. The answer is very well. You do a lot of dragging and dropping with the stylus but the game (music and sound effects as well) are essentially the same. As you complete different levels in the adventure mode, you will unlock all of the mini-games. I haven't gone through the entire thing yet but at level 3 you unlock the mini-games and they appear to be the same as the computer version.

The three main differences are

1. The Zombinator a way cool avatar creator to make your own zombie!

2. After Level 2 is over, you can play head to head against a friend.

3. You can earn different awards like blowing up 10 zombies with 1 cherry bomb. (Easter Egg on this screen!!)

I've found 1 easter egg so far :) I'm hoping to find more!

Am I happy I purchased it? Yep. Now I can play Zombies at lunch :)

Honest reviews on Plants Vs. Zombies - Nintendo DS

I'm writing my review as a comparison between the DS version of the game and the PC Game of the Year Edition. I've finished Adventure Mode and have completed all of the mini games, puzzles, and survival modes, but have not been able to try multiplayer.

I love playing on a touch screen. It's very quick and easy to pick up sun and coins, and to place plants. However, the smaller screen makes the game more difficultthe plants are crowded closer together so that it's harder to see which plant is where, or to tell whether a given space even has a plant on it at all. It's very difficult in this version to judge how damaged a Pumpkin is. Even the original game has some issues with plants being obscured by other plants or by menus and buttons, as well as menus and buttons being obscured by plants, and in this version it's even worse. For example, you can't tell what the plants in the top row of the Zen Garden are "asking for" in their speech bubbles, because the top menu completely blocks them.

The sound and graphics have of course been scaled down for the DS. The sound effects can be a little harsh and annoying at times, but the music sounds pretty good. The plants and zombies are even cuter when simplified, so no complaints there, other than the plants being crowded together as I mentioned earlier. Oh, and the abnormally large Dancing ZombieI guess the designers didn't want to lose all the detail in his 'fro.

A few minigames are missing, and a couple of new ones have been added. The new games are fun but nothing special.

The top screen of the DS is mainly just used for the level progress bar, but has some cute zombie and raven animations if you can spare enough attention to watch.

Some of the plants and zombies perform a little differently in this version. A missile from the Cob Cannon seems to take longer to hit. It could be my imagination, but it felt like some of the seeds had a longer delay between plantings. In the PC version, Catapult Zombies advance only after they destroy the plants in the back rows or run out of ammo, but in the DS game they constantly move forward.

The game performs fine on most of the Adventure levels and minigames, but slows down considerably once there are large numbers of zombies and plants onscreen. This makes Endless Survival nearly impossible to play on the DS. It also doesn't seem to save your progress on Endless Survival if you leave the game. Note: I have the DS LiteI don't know whether the other versions of the DS have more computing power.

If you're new to Plants vs Zombies, I highly recommend picking up the PC version instead. If you're already a fan, the DS game may be a little disappointing, but it's still worth owning a portable version that you can play in waiting rooms or when traveling. Save Endless Survival for your PC, though.

Plants vs Zombies is an amazing and very creative tower defense game. Zombies is trying to get across your lawn and your only hope lines in your garden, armed with units such as Pea Shoots, cabbage pults and exploding cherries you are valiantly defending your home and your brain from the hordes of undead. The game has cute graphics, addictive gameplay and which a main adventure having 50 levels in addition to a generous amount of mini games and other content this is a sizable game. This game is a great choice for the Nintendo DS, however if you have a Ipad, PC or one of the other consoles this game is published for then you are likely to enjoy that more.

The graphics of this game is scaled down and do not look nearly as even and vibrant as in the Ipad or PC version and allot of details are missing. Plants vs Zombies have a great soundtrack, but the DS version mangle several of the melodies. The game interface is also a bit clumsy, the game is played with the stylus and instead of just clicking to selecting like in other versions of this game, here you have to drag the stylus around. That being said, except for a few minor cosmetic problems with this port of the game this is an excellent title.

The packaging of this game is very nice, it has a slipcase over over the case itself so it looks more classy, the slipcase cover looks like a zombie have taken a bite out of it, perfectly fitting the game, fancy packaging makes for a great gift item and I think anyone would be happy to receive this game. On that note, this game would be perfect to give to a child who want to play a zombie game but who is not quite old enough for a horror shooter. Plants vs Zombies is suitable for anyone, and it is just spooky enough for a kid to find it exiting and cool, not that an adult would not find it exiting and cool also.

The manual which comes with the game is very funny to read, it is styled as a homeowners manual, however they have tried to make it funny more than informative so it is better at making you laugh than at making you understand how to play. I wondered about a few aspects of the game and the manual really did not help me. Luckily Plants vs Zombies are very easy to get into and it really is not problem just picking up and playing this game.

Plants vs Zombies is not a very difficult game, some might find the game to easy, I find it just perfect. This would be a good game for a beginner to tower defense games, however if you are a expert player and find the game to easy then know that some of the mini games really packs on the challenge. The mini games are not your typical mini game, it is the same concept and game style as the rest of the game, but with the game play mixed up again to create a new challenge. I would more call them extra levels than mini games. In addition to story mode and mini games there are multilayer, a "zen garden" a survival mode and the zombatar where you can create your own zombie.

I have really nothing but good to say about this game, I do not think it is the best port of it, but hey Plants vs Zombies is fun no matter what you play it on. I recommend this game to anyone, it has charm, it has spooky zombies and it have allot of militaristic plants, pick this one up and you will not be able to put the game down until you have beat it.

I have completely rewritten this review to add more detail as we've uncovered more Infinity goodness!

We've been playing for hours upon hours since Sunday's release, so I feel I have a good grasp on most aspects of the game. Forgive me if I tend to compare Infinity to Skylanders as it's somewhat inevitable given that many people are here because of their interest in the former game. If you're interested in my direct comparison, continue on, but keep in mind that despite the similarities, these two games are entirely different.

My initial thoughts on the game are how well-made and how deeply complex it is. For anyone who has played Toy Story 3, the play sets will instantly feel familiar. The Toy Box mode from Toy Story 3 is recreated here in almost identical fashion. Missions are located by glowing blue beacons in the sky and marked by a ! over their heads. A waypoint indicator (optional) is back again to guide you to the location of your mission objective. Back as well are all the little collectibles to pick up around every turn. Having spent a lot of time with the Cars play set with my son, it's also very familiar to find that the cars are controlled exactly like they are in Cars 2 (which happens to be the only game that we've ever unlocked every single achievement in!). The turbo meter is back and the controls for driving and racing are almost identical, with a few new additions. The same tricks and stunts can be performed here, and while the races aren't as long or varied as with Cars 2, all the familiarity is awesome for this Cars-loving family. It really feels like a mini Cars 2 game within the bigger game.

The game in general is very easy to jump right into. The tutorial is brief and gets you acquainted with the basic controls that apply to all characters. Once you enter a play set, you will be briefly introduced to their special controls as each character set has their own abilities. You start out in the Toy Box, and this will be my first (and probably only) complaint about the game. You are dropped in the Toy Box with very little explanation about how to do anything. It's possible that we missed something as my son was excitedly mashing buttons, but I felt a little lost initially. (EDIT: After going back, there is a tutorial for the Toy Box itself, but I haven't yet been permitted to complete it!) The possibilities are so immense that it's hard to fathom, and the manual says nothing about this. More on that later. Onto the Skylanders comparison!

Similarities:

Figures: Clearly the biggest similarity is the collectible figures. Although the need to hot swap characters as is the case with Skylanders, you're probably fine with just a single character until you come across an area or item that can only be accessed by a specific hero. Very similar to elemental gates, though it's usually just a chest unlocked an not a new challenge area. While Disney may have shot themselves in the foot for not pressuring you to have all the figures, it's refreshing to be able to experience the game with just a single favorite and not feeling like you're missing out, or worse, not being able to complete the game because you don't have all the necessary elements. If you are a completionist, however, you will want them all as each character is represented in the game's Hall of Heroes by a grand statue that changes as the character gains levels. If you want to unlock every single item in the game, you'll also need all the characters, but these items aren't essential to gameplay and are for Toy Box and cosmetic use only.

That said, you do have to have at least one character from each play set to play in those worlds. This isn't an issue since each of the three worlds that come in the starter pack are also accompanied by three characters, one from each of those worlds. The Cars and Lone Ranger play sets also come with characters from those worlds, so not being able to "complete" a given play set should never be an issue. On the other hand, if you want to play multiplayer in any of the play sets, be prepared to have TWO characters from each world. While you can have two of the same (two Lightning McQueen, for example) you MUST have two from that world, or you and your kids will not be able to play together in that world. If you want to play multiplayer in Monsters right off the bat, you will need to pick up Randall or Mike. If you want to play Incredibles in multiplayer, you need Mrs. Incredible, Violet or Dash. I know some think this is "underhanded" by Disney, but to me, this really isn't any different than Skylanders forcing you to go out and buy at least five more figures to be able to experience the entire game. You can experience all Infinity has to offer with what you get in the starter pack, but if you want to play multiplayer (and who wouldn't?!) you need to plan on buying three other figures. The great thing about the Infinity figures is that multiple people can share the same figure. More on that in differences!

Leveling and Upgrades: Figures do level up and receive upgrades, though their upgrades are specific to their world. Meaning if Holley Shiftwell receives the Turbo 2 upgrade, it's only persistent in the Cars play set. I started a new save game in the Cars play set to try a few things out, and I no longer had my previous upgrades, but my experience level and money did persist between games. In Toy Box mode, it appears you automatically have all of the general upgrades, regardless of your progression in the play set. Experience here is called Sparks, and is obtained by completing missions, challenges, and also by smashing stuff. Likewise with money.

Objectives: In Infinity, objectives are called missions. Each play set has a long list of tasks to complete, ranging from very simple to quite challenging. There is definitely a lot here to keep the completionist busy for a long time. Where each Skylanders level has a variety of very similar tasks to complete, each of the 5 Infinity worlds has a wide variety of different challenges.

Challenges: Infinity's version of Heroic Challenges and Arena Battles is Challenges. Some are unlocked through story progression and others are purchased with coins. Each challenge has three difficulty levels and you appear to have to complete them in order. For example, completing easy unlocks medium, medium unlocks hard. For each level you complete, you get a "mark" on the icon above the challenge entrance, up to three total. The color also changes, which affects how you see them from afar. Uncompleted challenges glow yellow, while completed challenges are red so you can easily see which ones aren't complete and where they are on the map when you're exploring. Challenges range from racing around different tracks to trying to shoot a certain number of targets in a specific amount of time. Some are very simple, and some I've struggled to complete at the hard level. The racing challenges are actually very.. well, challenging!

Differences:

Power Discs: This is an all new idea and plays into the fun of the chase as each Power Disc pack has two random discs in it. There already appears to be rare ones as we happened to find two that were a different color and had holographic designs on them rather than a regular picture. The circular variety give activated powers (like invulnerability or increased health) and the hexagonal discs give you things to play with in Toy Box, be it a new theme for your world or a new toy to play with. We've found several different cars, including Mickey's car, Cinderella's carriage and the ride car from the Astro Blasters attraction at the Disney parks. Each one plays familiar music when you ride around in it. We also found Stitch's ray gun which is very fun to chase each other around with! There is no point in having more than one hexagonal disc as using them once unlocks the item permanently, but it may be worth having two of each circle disc so that each player can use the same power up if desired. I've also heard that the 3DS version of the game allows you to "stack" two power ups at once, so also something to keep in mind when collecting the discs.

Upgrades: You shouldn't expect all of your upgrades to be about improving your character. While many are, about half are related to improving the world that you're in. For example, the cars get upgrades that increase their speed, towing ability, missiles, etc, but they also receive upgrades that spruce up the town, be it by adding new citizens or a new venue to the town. At the start, only Flo's V8 Cafe and Luigi's Casa Della Tires are present, but through upgrades you can purchase stores for Sarge, Filmore, Ramone, Lizzie, etc. Purchasing these stores also opens up new missions for you to complete, and as a result, new items and upgrades.

Character Swapping: While it was an oversight on my part, I was expecting to be able to play all characters in all play sets, but I was a bit sad to find out that in the play sets, you must play characters from those worlds. Cars can only play in Cars world, pirates in the pirates world, etc. While I've come to enjoy the game despite this, I wish it was open like Skylanders where you could play your favorite character no matter where you are. That said, I do understand why they have this restriction, because certain characters just wouldn't work with the mechanics in other play sets. For example, Lightning McQueen can't ride a horse in the Lone Ranger and Jack Sparrow can't tow cars who've run out of gas back to Flo's. However, in Toy Box mode, anything goes and you can run races with Sully or wield a gun with Mike. Truly with the Toy Box, your imagination (and grasp of the controls) are your only limitations.

Customizable World: You can change the look and feel of any of the buildings in your play sets. This is persistent to your game save, so I visit my son's world, I see how he has decorated Flo's V8 Cafe with pictures of Mater. If he visits mine, he sees an overload of pink and flowers! Customizing is very simple and intuitive and should be very easy for kiddos to pick up on, especially if they've played Toy Story 3. The interface for customizing is almost identical here. You interact with the building by pushing the button displayed on the screen, and it presents a graphical panel of options for customizing various parts of the building. This can be done at anytime and doesn't cost anything, so it's pure fun. You unlock other colors and designs by collecting them around the play set, just by picking them up. There are also countless spots where you can add your own little touches. There may be a post where you can choose to put a sign or wind chimes or whatever else you may have. And the fun part is, that persists through all other parts of the game. If you later race Chick Hicks around town, your wind chimes are there in front of the barn and your Guido Crossing sign is still in front of Luigi's shop. You can also customize the people (or cars!) who live in your world. When you first start out with the Cars play set, all the little citizen cars are just white. You can interact with each one and change them however you like, depending on which items you've found around town (and there are a great number of them). This may include a special hat, a new paint job, or new tires. You can also purchase new citizens altogether from the same menu where you purchase upgrades, which gives you new options for body types of your cars. Even as an adult, it's very fun to watch all our little creations drive around town. My son and I are constantly pointing out the ones that we've customized and complimenting each other on our designs!

Unlockable Items: Each play set is littered with items for you to pick up and collect in little capsules, like the ones you'd see in the quarter machines. Red ones are the more common type, unlocking only one item either for your play set or for the Toy Box. Green ones unlock a whole set of items for Toy Box. Some items are cosmetic, for customizing the citizens of your world or your buildings, some are actually useful items that change how you play. The former is the more common type.

Local Multiplayer: Clearly both games have local multiplayer, but there are many stark differences. In Skylanders, you are more or less bound to each other. You can't go anywhere independently, and that's not necessarily a bad thing for that game. After all, what's the point of beating up bad guys in multiplayer if you're not even together? That said, multiplayer in Infinity is a whole different scenario. You can work together, both directly or indirectly, or you can do your own thing entirely. As a result, multiplayer in Infinity is split screen, which we weren't crazy about at first, but now we absolutely love it. Here's why. If you're working on a mission to put out fires, you can split up and each of you can cover a different area. If you're on a stealth mission, one of you can be the lookout and guide the other from a different location. If you're racing, clearly the race wouldn't be very fun if you were stuck to each other and would kind of defeat the purpose of having a race in the first place. Given that cooperation is entirely possible, it's not required, and here's where Infinity is entirely different from Skylanders. At some point, my kiddo just wanted to drive around and customize everything and create a pile of cars that he towed to Mater's impound lot. While this looked absolutely fun and exciting (!) I wanted to continue on with missions and get more upgrades. While he was happily doing his own thing, I continued on completing missions and finding collectibles by myself. He was swapping out his cars left and right, opening chests and the like, and my game was never interrupted. There's no "loading" screen when a character is swapped, so he could change characters and power ups to his heart's content, even access menus while paused, and I was still cruising around. When one of us decided to take up a challenge, the other would be invited and given the opportunity to accept or decline. If one declined, they would be taken out of the game while the other completed the challenge, and then brought back again after the challenge was complete. If one accepts, they go on to complete the challenge together (or compete against each other, depending on the challenge). The ability to not be stuck to each other and be bound to what the other is doing is a really fun twist and makes the game feel much more open and interactive.

Online Multiplayer: I feel this part is somewhat misleading. You can't go online and team up with random people like you would in a game like Castle Crashers or Halo, but you can play online with friends. This isn't very useful if you don't know anyone who plays the game yet, but I'm sure communities will form online and people will add each other that way. I think random teams would have been a fun addition and I'm sad that this wasn't an option. I understand Disney was likely concerned about content being appropriate for the whole family, but since they support the parental settings in Disney Infinity, I don't think this would have been an issue. You could just block certain accounts from user created content and allow others full access. Basically online multiplayer is co-op in Toy Box mode with up to 4 players, including 2 local players. Disney has a few worlds they created available for download, and it remains unclear how you will access worlds created by other users. I've heard that it's possible to upload worlds to Disney that they will then make available to others for download, but I have no idea how this works yet so I can't really comment on it.

Experience: This is probably the single biggest difference between Infinity and Skylanders. Experience (sparks) are not gained by battling endless hordes of monsters. They are earned by completing missions and challenges. This may be off-putting to the biggest fans of Skylanders, but as a serious Skylander fan myself, I still find a lot to enjoy here. I don't really need another Skylanders (neither does my bank account!) but Infinity shines in it's own way. You shouldn't expect to jump into a hack and slash game here. While there is some of that (more in some play sets than others) this game is primarily about completing missions and progressing through the story. While it's entirely possible to replay areas to get more sparks the money, just like with Skylanders, you will basically be replaying story mode from the beginning. So far there is no shortage of missions and they are easy to locate by their glowing beacons that shoot up into the sky. The challenges also provide plenty of sparks and money, if you're successful, of course. Another brilliant addition is that in multiplayer, experience and money are automatically shared equally. No more fighting over who gets the next chest! Thank you, Disney!

Character info is stored locally: Unlike Skylanders where character levels and money are stored only on the figure itself, character info is also stored locally. This means multiple people can share the same figure, yay! This was an ingenious move on Disney's part. Say you're playing Lightning McQueen and he's level 7 and then you go to your friend's house to play. McQueen will show up as a "guest" in your friend's game, retaining your level and money. You can continue to play him as a guest and he'll keep progressing. He will retain any experience and money he earned while you were playing as a guest with your friend. However, if your friend doesn't have McQueen, he can take ownership of the figure and the character will start back at level 0 for him. The neat part is, when you take McQueen back to your game, he still has the amount of experience and money he had when YOU last played him. When your friend plays him again on his game (or if he purchases his own McQueen) he will then start from where he left off with the borrowed McQueen. In essence, each figure can retain information for multiple save games. Several family members can use the same figure, and since the character information is also stored locally, each individual can have their own information on that one figure. Another bonus is, if your figure ever stops working, you can just purchase a new one and no information will be lost. Very, very cool.

Length: With the number of hours we've logged so far into the Cars world alone, I think it's safe to say that Disney Infinity has many, many more hours of play than either of the Skylanders games. We had easily completed Skylanders Giants in a week, and that's with most of the stars and achievements unlocked. Granted, not all of our characters were level 15 in that week, but we had played through all the content. So far we've only played in the Cars play set and a teeny tiny bit in Toy Box, and with 4 other worlds to play through and the Toy Box to dig into, it would seem we have weeks of new content to play through.

Toy Box: There's is just too much here in the Toy Box to delve into with this already lengthy review, but suffice it to say, we are always thrilled to go into the Toy Box and try out the things we've unlocked while playing in the play sets. I haven't had a chance to go through the Toy Box tutorial yet, so I really have no idea what I'm doing besides chasing my kiddo around in makeshift races, so I'll add more to this section later. In the meantime, the DisneyInfinity channel on YouTube appears to have numerous tutorial videos. I've watched a few and I'm very excited about the possibilities!

To close, there is so much more here than I was expecting. I was honestly a bit hesitant thinking this endeavor by Disney was going to fall short in the face of Skylanders, but we are already hooked on Infinity, pursuing each challenge, objective, mission and upgrade, and having already sunk a good chunk of time into the game with only a single world, and considering we appear to be not even half way through, I think it's safe to assume that as we play through the other four play sets, we will experience many, many more happy hours of play together. There's really no reason NOT to pick up Infinity if you're looking for a good time for the whole family.

This is by far one of the best games I've played, it really is just fun. There are quite a few in-depth reviews by various websites like Gameinformer, Kotaku, Forbes, Polygon, and even Neogaf. You can find more in-depth info there if you wish. Simpy put the game has 2 modes basically, the campaign mode, which are the play sets, and the Toy Box mode.

The play sets are individual property experiences and follow a more traditional game flow, as you play through the play sets you unlock new toys to add to your toy box. So far Incredibles has been my favorite one, with Monsters and Pirates close behind.

The meat of the game is however in the toy box, it's a giant open world playground where you can combine all the different properties and literally do just about whatever you can think of. It's been a blast playing with my kids, horsing around, building things and just doing whatever we want, the freedom is refreshing. I can build more elaborate set ups with the logic editor that is super easy to use and pick up and my 6 year can build and knock over, drive through, shoot or whatever he wants all at the same time. It really is the most fun I've had playing a game with my kids.

There have been comparisons to Skylanders but anybody who has played the 2 games know that the only similarity is the fact they have collectible figures that you use in the game. The Forbes link I posted at the bottom has a good description of the differences. The character figures are really cool and well made and from what I understand Disney is only planning to add more to it, I highly recommend it!

Here are a couple in-depth review links that I've read...

Best Deals for DISNEY INFINITY Starter Pack Xbox 360

Okay, after reading many of the comments I thought I could add my two dimes (inflation). I could almost imagine the board meeting at Disney Interactive. The cost of servers for their free-to-play games such as Toon Town, Pirates of the Caribbean and Fairies of Pixie Hollow was becoming a major money pit so how do we fix that? Or better yet, what's really hot out their and I'm sure someone coughed and said Skylanders and someone else pointed out Minecraft was pretty hot. So there you go, Disney Infinity. A game that combines collectability and customization to real life figures that you purchase.

People scoffed at Activision for charging so much for their starter pack but many gamers pointed out that the 3 characters that come with the set are more than just figures and the base is an integral part of game play so you really are getting more than just the game disc. What makes Disney Infinity great is the variety of ways to enjoy. I know for a fact there are hoards of collectors that literally want the figures just to have the figures; they're well made and they look cool.

Now a big complaint I've heard is how Disney is money grubbing and I really can't dismiss that since they did decide to drop the afore mentioned on-line games for this model. But the reality is, if your game isn't making a profit, it's not sustainable. My measure of money grubbing comes with the question, "do I need to buy these extras in order to complete the game?" Well, if you have 2 kids then yes, you will need to buy the Sidekicks Pack or Villains Pack if both your kids want to play together in all three starter lands. So $75 + $30 = $95. Do you need the power discs? Nope! The 4 round power discs only offers a percentage chance at a buff or bonus. You really don't need them to play the game.

Each game seems to have 4 to 5 connected areas where you do tasks to acquire more in-game items and toys for your toy box. So I think most people can escape paying over $100 for three relatively fun games that represent about 4 to 5 levels each. See, I'm comparing it to Skylanders that has 16 chapters in the main game. What's missing is you can't have characters from other lands interact in-game so no taking Capt. Jack with Sulley and heading off to Metro City to fight Syndrome. But that's where the toy box comes in. There you can collect game mechanics and make you're own gaming area. I think this is where Minecraft comes in.

The hexagon power discs are only usable in these areas and you can only use 3 at a time. The round power discs are only for character enhancements (you can only use 2 per character) and doubles can be used to increase your chances. However, doubles of the hexagon discs are a waste because you only need 1 to activate a theme or item. I saw that Toys-R-Us have scheduled trading sessions, but seriously, I don't think many people are going to need any of the 4 dupes of Sugar Rush background that I got. Once again, you don't need these discs to complete the game and the shared toy box has premade toy boxes that have many of the backgrounds such as Alice in Wonderland and Wreck-it-Ralph so I really do think you can keep the fun under $100.

I think the problem is we just want it all. With Skylanders my daughter had no problem picking out characters she wanted to play and characters she didn't want to play. With Infinity I just want it all, so be prepared to pay about $400 for wave 1. I bought a few random disc bags and after I got 4 Wreck-It-Ralph backgrounds I decided to look for an alternative. Now people have posted that if you're at a store with a display base, all you have to do is place the bag on the base and the disc information will appear for both discs. I'm not sure I feel comfortable doing that, but I know some employees at Best Buy could care less if you did. I personally just went and found a vendor on Amazon that offered the whole set of commons and a set of rares for a reasonable price. I also bought dupes of the round power discs because we are often playing as a pair and if we want to have heavy damage, we each put two sets of Bolt power discs under our figures for a damage boost.

I noticed one of Disney Infinity Devs posted a trick where you can level your characters to 15 by spinning them in a stunt buggy over a fan in your toy box. It blew my mind that a Dev would offer players a easy exploit to up your game. Oh why level your toons? You get a star for each level and stars are used to spin for more toys in the spin vault that can further enhance your toy box experience. If you have the starter pack that gives you 45 spins (15 stars per figure). I believe you need 150 spins to unlock the entire vault but please don't quote me on that. Stars are also achieved by in-game play so if you only have the starter pack you can get more stars in game....just not sure if you'll have enough to unlock it all. Well, if that's your goal, you would more like have more figures. I like Disney Infinity but I worry about the cost. It's not surprising they split this set up into 3 waves; no doubt to correspond with quarterly reports. But that's the reality, if you're not making money you have no business being a company.

I think if you have a fixed income hold off till Christmas when I believe vendors will start bringing down the price for wave 1. Unlike Skylanders, Disney Infinity doesn't seem to want to mess with people by making some figures rarer, just the power discs which aren't even necessary...only if you're a completionist like me. The one thing that does bothers me is when they show examples of in-game stuff, they often use characters from Wave 2 or I suspect Wave 3. It's a great marketing ploy, but I think that's what frustrates people who aren't familiar with the game. They see Wreck-It-Ralph and think, "Hey, that looks like fun", only to discover you'll need to wait till October to play him.

Oh and one cautionary note! I purchase the Villains pack from Best Buy and found that the Davy Jones character wasn't reading properly when you put more than 1 power disc on him. Best Buy was of course accommodating about the return, but I ended up having to get the entire 3 pack to replace the one faulty figure. So get this, at home now it's Randal and Syndrome that are faulty and Davy Jones is fine. Once again Best buy was cool and said just bring those back and you can take back the 2 I returned earlier that day. So my point is, there's clearly a glitch. I heard about issues with PS3, but I'm on XBOX and Davy Jones was the only figure experiencing this issue until I got that replacement. I did the pre-order for Woody and Jack Skellington, but I worry if I'll get any grief about returning online purchased items through Wal-Mart and Gamestop respectively. Finally shop around; Target had the Lone Ranger and Cars sets at half price and Amazon matched them so don't feel you have to buy it all now. Wait and look for deals. Anyhow, sorry for the length of this review, but hope it helps!

UPDATE: Okay for fun I went to Best Buy and tried the trick with the Power Disc bag and a static advertisement came up regarding what Power Discs do. I placed a character box and same deal, an advertisement about THAT particular figure so either I'm doing something wrong, or other places can in fact read the discs or they created a software update to avoid sneaky customer. So even though I've read in several places about the trick, I personally can not confirm it works. I did however try the easy quick leveling. By hopping onto the fan, I didn't need to use a stunt buggy and I was also able to use the hopping technique with my Cars 2 figures since they can't ride a stunt buggy. So anyhow, I can confirm that works.

One thing I forgot to mention is the detail of each of the lands. I didn't even see The Lone Ranger but I love the play set and attention to detail; right down to pop guns being used by heroes and villains instead of realistic guns and ammo. A nice touch when considering how many younger grade school kids will be playing this game. Another is the music. Since Disney owns everything, they pretty much got a majority of music for each land. The only gap I've noticed is Pirates of the Caribbean, but hey I can just play the soundtrack if I need to hear Hanz Zimmer's score that bad. It's also nice to hear they were able to get a lot of original cast members to reprise their roles or at least pretty good sound alikes for characters such as Capt. Jack. or Mrs. Incredible. Here and there you see little touches of designers developers or artists just going above and beyond to make this game fun and immersive.

Honest reviews on DISNEY INFINITY Starter Pack Xbox 360

Disney Infinity is the first serious attempt to take on Activision's all-conquering Skylanders series. There are obvious similarities both use toy figures and a USB peripheral but Disney's effort requires you to purchase physical tokens to upgrade your in-game heroes (sold in sealed foil packs that make doubles and the need to swap them inevitable. Disney Infinity also promises more complex gameplay. Its story mode comprises a collection of adventures themed around different franchises including the Incredibles, Monsters. Inc and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Activities are varied platforming, seafaring, brawling, city management, racing and campus exploration feature in the Starter Pack alone but unlike with Skylanders, players can only use characters from the featured film franchise in their respective levels. The freeform Toy Box mode, however, lets players combine characters as they invent their own adventures with game creation tools and objects earned during the main game. Both modes support two-player split screen and four-player online collaboration.

Highly fun and exploratory, this should give you plenty of time to have an enjoyable experience!!

I have been playing this game for a day now and it already feels old due to the fact that the gameplay is identical to Toy Story 3 toy box mode. I did like Toy Story 3, however, in Toy Story 3 you didn't need toy figurines, and honestly I can't for the life of me understand the need to have these figurines besides for the fact that Disney is going to make lots of money selling them. The game comes with three different levels, Monsters University, the Incredibles, and Pirates. The missions unfold exactly the same for all three sets, where you have different missions to complete and you are then rewarded for completing the mission. The bad thing about it is you can only have one game save for each of the levels. If you want to start over for one of your kids, then you will lose your work. My 4 year old son decided to start a new game of the Incredibles and all the time I put into the game is now lost. That being said it will take you about 4 to 5 hours to play through the entire story mode for each level. This is decent, but I am concerned that new levels are going to suffer from identical gameplay with updated characters. I think this may hurt the game going forward. I would have loved to see a Cars level feature game play similar to Need for Speed, or another Disney franchise with different game play mechanics. However, it isn't that way, and $40 is a lot for an expansion pack.

The figurines are actually quite cool. The quality of the figurines is slightly lower than the Skylanders figurines as some characters are held onto the base by a small piece of plastic. I got the sidekicks pack which included Mike (Monsters), Mrs. Incredible (Incredibles), and Barbarosa (pirates). If you want to play the story mode in multiplayer then you will need two of the characters of the matching level. You are not able to use Mike in the Pirates level or Captain Jack in the Incredibles level. In the toy-box you can mix them up.

The other good thing about this game is that there are lots of unlockables and items to collect. If you like games where you have to collect things, then this game will give you plenty to do. I am hoping that we get a couple of patches for the game in the future to fix some of the minor annoyances, but overall it is a good game for both me and my kids. My 4 year old gets frustrated (it is a little too old for him), and my 6 year old can play following either my wife or myself.

As for comparing it to Skylanders, well they aren't really that similar with the exception of using figurines. Skylanders has a better story line, but Infinity has better replay value. If I want to play with another player Infinity is better, but I feel like I could play Skylanders for longer periods of time. One thing is for certain, and that is we are going to get more video games in the future that use some kind of external toy.

EDIT 20 August 2013: I wanted to mention that you are able to have multiple saves for this game. I have the Xbox 360 edition so you have to log in as a different user to have a different save file. This is actually a better system IMO due to the fact that you don't have to worry about your saves being deleted by other users. I also wanted to mention that each mission pack should be rated differently due to the slight differences between them, however, the game mechanics are the same for all the game packs that I have played. I am getting the Cars pack tomorrow so I'll update this review with information about that one as well.

DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS will probably go down as one of the best games that I've ever played. It's an RPG of a dying breed. Your character is silent, the lore is extensive, and success only comes about after trial, error, and numerous deaths. A game that all but demands that you invest yourself emotionally and fill your character's shoes as much as possible. It follows the classic D&D tradition that few games submit to these days (not even DRAGON AGE II will be in the same vein) and a masterful story that only the good writers at BioWare could deliver.

If you haven't had a chance to play this game, start with this "Ultimate Edition." No question about it. DA:O is certainly good enough as is, but BioWare released a series of add-ons since its release that aren't quite worth the price tag they were given. This collection, on the other hand, is a great deal. Buying DA:O, its "expansion," and every piece of DLC at release would have cost you a grand total of $160. Unacceptable and insulting, especially considering the quality of some of the DLC. On the other hand, the cost for the "Ultimate Edition" is a fine price for you to enjoy the heck out of DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS, and make up your own mind about the add-ons without conflict.

NOTE: The package includes two discs. The first contains only DA:O, while the second is an installation disc for the add-ons. You WILL have to install the DLC from the second disc to play them. They're not terribly big files, but people with limited HD space should take this into account.

-DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS (5/5 Stars): In my old Amazon review, I gave this game 4/5 stars because of its difficulty, but that was nearly a year ago...and I'm still playing. If the sheer amount of content doesn't keep you playing, then maybe the fact that merely playing as a character of a different gender will dramatically change the way the story progresses. You will never play the same game twice. This is fantasy fiction at its best, and one of the best fantasy RPGs in years and years.

The writing is great, the lore is perhaps TOO detailed, and the characters are extremely likable. If you love in-depth or classic RPGs that stay away from modern trappings, this is the game for you. Perhaps one of the LAST games for you.

(The DLC reviews are in the order I think they should be played for full enjoyment. The first three, you should play before you complete the game.)

-THE STONE PRISONER (3/5 Stars): The quest itself is largely uninteresting, but it unlocks a new party member, Shale. It's a well-written character to be sure and is sure handy in a fight, but don't expect to get a ton out of its backstory.

-WARDEN'S KEEP (4/5 Stars): This has a nice little storyline that's only about an hour in length (as is most of the DLC). You are tasked with helping a descendant of a Grey Warden clear his family's name. To do so, you must clear out a place called Soldier's Peak, which, afterward, will grant you a place to store your goods. For the impulsive looter, this is a gift, though I think it should have been a part of the actual game. Having a guy in your camp asking you to buy Xbox Live content doesn't do much for immersion.

-RETURN TO OSTAGAR (5/5 Stars): This one worked so well on account of its emotional significance to me. Ostagar is The Place where your adventure begins, where you become a Grey Warden, and lose quite a bit. To come back to it was a heart-wrenching experience. It won't take you very long to hack through it, but the items that you can find throughout have great meaning, and the ending brings with it a satisfying sense of closure.

-DRAGON AGE: AWAKENING (4/5 Stars): Without the outrageous $40 price tag attached to it, you can now enjoy this in full confidence. This is a 13-15 hour adventure through the Arling of Amaranthine, which will give you new locations, party members, armor, and an opportunity to rule over the land. It's definitely the best out of all the add-ons, but it probably won't sync up very well with your ending from ORIGINS, which is definitely a downer. And the ending was a bit rushed for my taste.

-GOLEMS OF AMGARRAK (3/5 Stars): I liked the idea of my Warden answering a call for help, but I DREADED going back to the Deep Roads again. AGAIN! There are other places to explore in Ferelden, BioWare...Anyway, this wasn't bad, but there just wasn't much to it. You explore an old dwarven thaig, uncover a few ancient secrets and fight a boss. If it takes you more than two hours to complete, I'd be surprised (that goes for most of the DLC).

-WITCH HUNT (4/5 Stars): The infamous Morrigan romance. If you felt it didn't end the way you'd expected in ORIGINS, here's your chance to get that feeling back again. The story takes place a little over two years after the end of ORIGINS, and your Warden is searching for Morrigan (your intentions, good or ill, are up to you). There's quite a bit of lore to be found here, some humor from your party members, and it provides you with enough foreshadowing to make you remember DRAGON AGE II is right around the corner. Beyond that, Witch Hunt is little more than a fine way to kill an hour, but I liked it. NOTE: This DLC will pretty much serve as the end of your Warden's story until DA2, so plan accordingly.

-LELIANA'S SONG (2/5 Stars): This DLC didn't serve much of a purpose to me. Leliana told her story sufficiently enough in ORIGINS; there was just no reason to play through it. It actually made her character all the more confusing because it doesn't really give you a good, meaningful reason as to why she joined the Chantry. It almost makes it sound like she joined "just because." Way to take a neat story and make it boring. Also, the almost French accents were terribly annoying and poorly done here.

-THE DARKSPAWN CHRONICLES (1/5 Stars): Another pointless piece of DLC. It basically shows what would happened if you, the Warden, had never been found. You command a Hurlock and a party of other Darkspawn through the final battle, killing all of the Warden's companions along the way. This would have been a neat little "what-if?" story, but there is absolutely no voice-work here. Not one word, so it just amounts to an hour of killing things with no real purpose. And all the locations are recycled, let's not forget that.

So, in closing, I do want to reiterate my love for this game and how much of a true RPG experience it is. BioWare might have gone a little crazy with the DLC, but this is a truly great package when everything is said and done. This is my second time buying DA:O (my copy was throughly abused and broken after my friend and I were done with it), and it was my first time playing and of the add-ons with the exception of AWAKENING. I had a lot of fun, despite the questionable quality of a few of them.

This really is as good as it gets. And judging by the current "simplified, modern, give-a-voice-to-the-main-character" trend in RPGs, this may very well be one of your last opportunities to enjoy a game inspired by the classics of the genre.

See you at the Joining, Warden.

I have had a great deal of difficulty getting into any given game recently, and it has often taken some pretty impressive games for me to put in more than a couple of hours. I started by getting the original Dragon Age: Origins preowned, and within a week, I knew that I would be purchasing this copy. It simply offers too much downloadable content and expansions at too great a value to pass up. I will rate the game as a whole, for those of you who don't know about Dragon Age.

Graphics: I have often heard people speak ill of the graphics of Dragon Age. I suppose the graphics are only slightly better than that of Xbox 360 games that came out on release day, but definitely not as poor as PS2 graphics that some people claim it sports.

Considering what they have done with the game, I can't say I would complain about the graphics. Every single piece of armor shows on every character on every cut scene. Cut scenes change based on what you have done and who is in your party, and every dialogue piece changes depending on who is in your party. It is remarkable to see little details such as what boots a character is wearing showing accurately in every scene. I consider this to be an impressive game. And it may not be FF 13 graphics, but it does some far more impressive things than FF13 ever attempted.

Glitches: Yes the game consists of glitches, are any of them game breaking? I haven't run into any as I had with Fallout 3. The glitches are sometimes audio fails to properly trigger, some characters outfits or beards tend to fall into each other, there was one scene where my character performed the killing blow on thin air because the monster had already fallen, so glitches exist, and they can be distracting. Once again, I point to the shear magnitude that this game accomplishes, and can forgive that some dialogue doesn't match up right, or a codex is inaccurate, given how much the game possesses. Compared to shorter games like Gears of War, Halo, and Darksiders, the game has considerably more glitches, and you will run across them. However, other than being minor inconveniences, I haven't experienced anything. Just follow the rule of save frequently, especially since the games autosave feature isn't quite as frequent as you would probably prefer.

Environment: This might be some of the reason people hit so badly on the graphics. The environments are pretty bland. You aren't going to see very much in the ways of surreal, artistic, landscape. Once in a while you might see something pretty cool, like in the deeproads, but for the most part, I have found the landscape to be relatively bland.

Appropriateness: Most people are curious about the content. A lot of games are labeled M for mature, but that can go in a lot of directions. In general, there is no swearing in the game, the characters rather using the softer words like "Sodding" when they swear. With regards to nudity, there are various enemies that will be fairly bare. Desire Demons typically where nothing but a loin cloth and some "nipple covers". A certain monster shows more boobs, but there was nothing sexual about a broodmother. You can have sex in the game, but it is done fairly tactfully, and every character wears underwear, the loose, unexposing kind. Homosexuality, threesomes, foursomes, and more stuff can occur in this game as well. With regard to violence, the game revels in how it shows blood. Your characters will become covered in blood after fights, and certain items have the unique ability to be "messy" and have more blood. Enemies will have pools of blood around them too, and will quickly decay into skeletons after a kill. So violence is a yes, although you can't just attack and kill anyone like in oblivion... in this game you would have to challenge and threaten to get into fights, and even then it doesn't always work. So yes, a violent, sexual game with surprisingly decent language. The environments are typically OK, I didn't see too many scary environments or inappropriateness like in Fallout 3. In one or two areas, you might see a few people hanged from hooks, but nothing like Fallout 3 does. There was one area that freaked me out and was scary, but that was the only area in the game I found to be that way.

Difficulty: I found the game to be pretty easy, but I suppose that depends on your experience with RPGs in general. I play on normal mode and might crank it up for my second playthrough. There were some challenges, but the more I play and get used to the controls, the easier it gets.

Variety: The game offers a fair variety of gameplay. Most of the time, it is simply clicking A to kill all your enemies, but there are plenty of ways to shake things up. If you are a mage, you will need to balance and run through your spells constantly. You can lure enemies into carefully constructed traps if you would like, causing them to fail miserably as they charge you. A boss or two require unique strategies to kill. So if you want to just hit A until it is dead, you can, or you can use your abilities strategically, the choice is yours.

Other characters:

You have the ability to fully control any member of your party, so don't think you are going to be helpless like in some other games. You can create fairly complex AI controls so that your ally acts exactly how you want him to. Learning to set these up properly is essential to the game. The redial menu is your friend, and while I originally tried to get away without it, I eventual realized it is a necessary part of the game. You will quickly learn that you can't learn everything, so you are going to have to give some of the slack to your allies. One of them will need to learn herbalism/trapmaking/lockpicking ect... you can't depend on the warden to master them all, making teamwork in your party essential, something I have not felt in any game for a while.

Improvements: My only two improvements that I think would have added greatly with the game is 1) allowing a second player to take control of one of the allies, which would have been remarkably easy to set up and 2) Perhaps a few less glitches would have been nice.

Overall: Other than that, I found this game to be the best game I have played in some time. It is fun, giving you an open game feel without the "I have no idea where to go, what to do" feel oblivion sometimes gave. Most of your paths are linear, and I can't say I felt like I missed too much without a strategy guide, but it still gives you options and multiple paths in any given dungeon/city. The additions were all great, and I enjoy awakening just as much. The addons are definitely fun and worth adding on, although I don't expect many of them are worth it to buy individually, they are a great deal within this edition.

Now before I get into the game im going to state this. To enjoy this game to its fullest there is alot of reading. The game plays like a classic rpg some what similar to that of guildwars and it requires alot of patience and if you dont have any of that you will not enjoy this game.

Now to the main review this game is simply amazing. There is so much depth in it you will spend just as many hours in this as you did in fallout 3. Alot of games you dont know a whole lot about the universe you are put into well thats not the case with dragon age. All around the game there are codex entries that you add to a journal and they describe in great detail of the world around you. You may even get so into it you feel like you are part of the game.

On my first play through I managed to beat the game in 20 to 25 hours and thats only because I didnt even come close to everything there is to do in this game. I mostly focused on the main story and ignored the codex entries. This is definitely a game that requires multiple play throughs to understand it.

The most interesting thing about dragon age is the origin story. There are 6 different origins you can chose from and each one has their own impact on the game and how people around you react to you. Like I said this game is going to take some time and if you want to see all the different ways the game can play out you are at least looking at 6 play throughs.

Whats great about this package is all the dlc you get with it. Theres probably around $80 worth of dlc that I paid and you get for free with the game. Now there are a few DLC's you that you really shouldnt touch until after you play the game. As they could spoil the main plot for you.

If you like old style Rpg's and a vast story you will fall in love with this game, it's simply a master piece. There is just so much with in this game I really dont know where to begin to sum it all up in a review but its deffinatly worthy of being in your collection.

Honest reviews on Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition - Xbox 360

I hope to eventually write a real review, but for now I just need to warn you: I think it is a very bad idea to install the "feastday" DLC pack. Install all the others, but this one is game-wrecking.

One of the great things about Dragon Age is the approval system -your game choices and your dialog options and you use of various "gifts" will influence how much esteem your party members hold you in. Earn their loyalty and you'll unlock special skills, and maybe even romance. Alienate someone too much and they might outright leave.

This nuanced system replaces the literally one-dimensional morality mechanic in games like Mass Effect, Fable, KOTOR and others. I find it so much more realistic.

Here's what the feastday DLC pack does: it takes this innovative game mechanic, and completely destroys it. It gives you abundant access to cheap gifts that *hugely* pump up the loyalty ratings of everyone in your party. If you want to keep everyone at max approval, it's just too easy. It'd be really hard not to.

For each character there is one special gift that gives +50 approval, and one "prank" gift that gives -50. Here's how it went down for me. I had a character who I'd worked hard to get up to, say, 80. Not knowing what the gifts do, I gave her the "good" gift. Her approval maxed out at 100. Then I gave the prank gift. It went down to 50. I thought, "hey, I got robbed! I should get it back to 80 again." Well, this is easy: you just buy three copies of "Thoughtful Gift" from your local merchant. (I'm serious.) That's it. Only once I'd done that, I was drunk on the whole idea, long story short, five minutes later everyone in my party had max approval. Yeah, I'm weak.

Ergo, the whole interesting and motivating game mechanic of the approval system was just tossed out the window. I've never had a DLC actually ruin part of the core gameplay experience of a game before.

I cannot fathom why BioWare made and released this DLC. I say: just don't install it. If, halfway through the game, you decide that you hate the approval system and you wish the game didn't have that aspect to it at all, then go for it; this DLC pack will wipe it off the face of the map for you handily.

Sorry that this wasn't a real review. The core game is 47 kinds of awesome.

First off, probably the only RPG I've played where I didn't want to viciously murder at least one of my companions by the end of the game (I'm talking about you, Neeshka and Qara of Neverwinter Nights 2). Every character has a great personality, and your companions will engage one another in (often hilarious) dialogue. The graphics look great, and there is a good sense of the benefits and shortcomings of each weapon style and type. Item creation is much easier than in Neverwinter Nights 2, where you have to go all over the continent to search for the required materials. Sometimes you will have to make decisions on whose word to trust without knowing who is being honest with you (ieMorrigan or her mother)

Now for the bad part. Visibility and targeting make absolutely no sense. Enemies would at time appear out of thin air. This could make sense if the enemies were being stealthy, but they're not. I once stood on a hilltop and could not even see the army of Undead that the villagers were fighting. Keep in mind that higher elevation should IMPROVE your visibility. At other times, I could clearly see an enemy but the game wouldn't let me target him until I moved the character slightly forward or to the side.

Additionally, I didn't feel like the mage class contributed enough to the game. All of the spells that end up doing damage to a large number of opponents end up screwing over your melee characters via friendly fire. Some spells such as mind blast and mass paralysis are useful, but you can stun multiple enemies simply by having an archer with scattershot or a bard use Song of Fascination.

Also, merchant stores were kind of limited in some areas, such as health potions. Although you can also get healing via spells, random health potions by looting carcasses, or making your own health potions, it was still rather irritating that I managed to buy out every health poultice on the continent.

I was kinda disappointed to find out that some of the battles prior to the final boss were tougher than the archdemon himself.

to start off, the game picks off with tony montana at the mansion right before the gun fight that ended the first movie, the game makes tony montana come back to life by having him live past the gun fight.

you get an assortment of missions between buying drugs, meeting women, and driving trucks away from rivals.

the game has a sweet mode that you can get into when your balls meter is full.

when in a car you can aim your guns out of your car and shoot at people.

scarface is the most explosive action game ever.

if grand theft auto is a 9mm bullet, scarface is a rocket.

some missions you can enter places and shoot the hell out of it until the area is cleared and the game is explosive beginning to end.

This is a great game that is meant for MA only. It is interesting, because it startes off where the movie ended (sort of). The game starts on the part of the movie where people are sent to kill Tony. However, instead of him dying, he actually makes it out alive and has to start rebuilding his empire from scratch. The game is similar to the GTA games but BETTER--there is a lot more foul language and a great amount of killing and bloodshed. If you love these type of games then you'll LOVE this game, especially if you loved the movie. You won't be sorry.

To be honest the only reason why I'm getting this HDMI cable because of its low price and color (green yellow). I'm a big Green Bay Packers fan.

I know this HDMI cable is ver. 1.3 which is below the 1.4 ver for 3D TV. But surprisingly the picture quality on my Panasonic Plasma TV is better than when I'm using my Sony HDMI cable ver. 1.4 that I got from Gamestop when I purchased my PS3. I dont know why, but the color on my TV using this cable is more vibrant.

"The game might as well stayed unreleased..." I don't agree with this at all! I personally appreciate the effort of Square to give us this game a game we otherwise would not have. FFA should be a game in your PSX library. 2 for 1 can't beat that. I feel as though even "new-school" gamers who played FF7 first would find these games entertaining. Now as far as the comment in the editorial about FF5, this game is the hardest in the series, next to the FF3 that Japan got (for the original NES). The bosses are hard, and mastering the job system in this game takes a lot of effort. Try going through this game without dying on a few bosses and you can consider yourself an FF expert.

My hat's off to Square for releasing these games to us hardcore gamers in North America. FF VI is arguably the best RPG in the 16-bit genre, and FF V, technically being a new game to North America, make this an unbeatable package. Square must know this, because they're doing it again with Final Fantasy Chronicles (FF IV and Chrono Trigger). Smart move if you ask me. Gamers like me will be first in line to get this compilation when it comes out. Meanwhile, if you see this somewhere and you don't own it, buy it! You won't regret it.

Final Fantasy VI, or 3 on the Super Nintendo, was the second console RPG I played. (The first was "Lagoon" on the SNES, which was good.) I still believe that FF6 is one of the best of the Final Fantasy series. It has excellent character development, a good story, and for the first time, a villain with a background and personality. Up until this point, most RPG villains were "Mwa, ha ha, I'm Evil!!!" villains who were evil to have someone evil in the story. In FF6, Emperor Ghestalt and Kefka are deeper than that. One realizes too late that his greed has doomed him, the other is insane because he was the subject of magical/medical experiments. I have played this game six times, more than any other RPG.

Final Fantasy V was good. While I think FF6 was a little better, this is the first time FF5 was released in the US. It was interesting, and obviously the predecessor of the job system used in Final Fantasy Tactics. I think it was worth playing.

I wish there was more re-releasing old, classic games for new systems. I suppose some might see it as the companies just trying to squeeze more money from old games, but I love being able to play these games on new systems, and the addition of new features is always fun to experience.

As far as collections go, this is a very good one. Final Fantasy 6, originally 3, is a classic game, and considered by some to be the best FF ever. I can't say I think it's the best, but it is definitely an exceptional game that was even more remarkable when it was first released. It does already seem dated in many ways. At the same time, this is the final game in the series where you can experience the classic, 2D FF that many fans of the series have grown up with.

This game does have an excellent cast of characters, and one of the better storylines in the series. The espers, the first real summon monsters, are really cool, and theres somewhere around 30 of them, much more than any other game, which I like. Each character has unique abilities and weapons, which makes for great variety. A very fun old school RPG.

The graphics were amazing at the time, but already seem pretty dated. The sound as well. The music that was written for the game is some of Uematso's best, but the sound capabilities of the SNES are just too dated. If they improved anything, I wish they would have improved sound quality a bit. Also, the CG scenes they added were disappointing to me. They weren't that badly done, but I thought that they would be peppered throughout the game at the appropriate spots, which they weren't. They were only at the beginning and end, which I find disappointing. I guess they wanted the actual experience of playing the game to be identical to how it was on the SNES. I wouldn't have minded some small improvements, personally. Overall, they did a good job.

FF 5 was a real surprise, and it was great to play a brand new old style FF, never before released in the US. Lots of the reviews on Amazon say that it is really a sub-par game. I have to say I strongly disagree...I think its a great FF game. If you enjoyed FF 4 and 6, I think you'll definitely like 5. The graphics and sound are similar to FF 4. The gameplay is what makes the game so good though. You can switch your characters between the variety of job classes like in FF Tactics or FF X-2, and learn a large variety of different skills, then mix and match them. It's a very primitive form of the job class system, sure, but it's still really cool, considering the age of the game. I also really enjoyed the story of the game...it was about as good as FF 4. Theres a part where you're navigating through a graveyard of pirate ships infested with ghosts and zombies that is totally classic. I would definitely recommend giving FF 5 a chance. It is old and outdated, but definitely lives up to the quality of the FF series.

Now, a quick word about the music disc...it's pathetic. An absolute waste of time. If anyone could actually listen to that disc and get into the music on it, I'd say you have serious issues. It's tinny SNES sound, taken directly from the games. I can't imagine it would have been too much work to throw some real orchestrated versions (they are available in Japan) of the songs on here...that would have been great. Furthermore, they chose a bunch of the worst songs to include on the disc and left out many of the best. Terrible.

But, you won't be buying this collection for the music disc. The games are what matters, and they are quality, faithful ports of the originals. Highly recommended for people who want to walk down memory lane with some great old games.

I got tired of playing online with out a mic but I didnt have 20 to spend on a brand new mic from Best Buy etc. I had 5 bucks and the low price caught my eye, i took a chance and bought it, i can hear people clear and loud. my mic works just fine. This is good if you just want something basic. Its a little uncomfortable to wear after hours of playing, but over all i give this a 9/10.

This headset is not worth your time. It works okay but its really hard to hear other people even on full volume. I guess the mic works okay but I feel if you can't hear the people very well it doesn't meet my needs. I constantly have to say "what was that again?" or some other variation, though I have yet to test it over multiplayer, I've only used it for private chat. Its been about 2 days since I've had it.

Review of Xbox 360 Controller Cradles

Xbox 360 Controller Cradles
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

For how little they, they do it so well. Before I bought them I found that I didn't keep my wireless 360 controllers in the best of storage situations when not in use. This changed everything. My two white 360 controllers now sit prominently in a very decorative manor that express how wonderful they are. And besides, they are only $10 for both.

I always had my xbox controllers lying around. They are great for wireless controllers as i have one controller next to sofa and the rest nicely displayed next to my TV. My only complaint for this product is the small rubber stoppers on the bottom of the "legs" comes off easily but hey for the price what do u expect. Overall a must have for those who wish to display their controllers in style

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Controller Cradles

I just received these and they were exactly what I was expecting. You receive two cradles in the package. Each cradle is white with chrome facing towards the bottom. A leg kicks out to help support the bulk of the cradle. Also, each cradle has small rubber grips that is supposed to help prevent the cradle from sliding around. Overall, I think these are a really good idea, but I do see a few minor problems.

I am a big fan of Call of Duty 4, so I need my wired mic plugged into the controller. But, the cradle doesn't allow you to keep your mic plugged in while its on the cradle. The other minor problem I see is the rubber grip on the bottom seems it could easily fall off if heated via the xBox 360.

Like I said, overall, these cradles are a great option for those people who don't have a great place to store their controllers and don't like them just laying on the floor. And, for less than $10, it's a great deal!

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Controller Cradles

These are great if you don't want to just leave your controller lying on the coffee table or on the floor. It gives a place for the controller to be and it displays it nicely. It doesn't take up any more space than the controller would by itself just lying there. I bought mine from Amazon for $4.99 and it comes with 2 cradles.

Pro: holds controller well. displays well.

Con: Nothing. Wall mounting optional would of been great.

This is the updated, series 2 version of Wrecking Ball, he's the CUTEST character of them all and very fun to play, especially for kids since he burps to take out his enemies and attacks them with his sticky long tongue! He's a magic element character and he works on both the original Skylanders Spyro's Adventures game & the new Skylanders Giants game which is great if you want to play him on the original! He can be used on all game systems: Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 systems! A great addition to any collection!

Difference between this series 2 version and the original series 1 version of Wrecking Ball: He can level up to 15 now and has a WOW POW power that puts him into a fun rolling disco ball to roll over his enemies in, plus his teeth have grown much longer than before!

Ok, if you thought Sly 2: Band of Theives was good, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

You have, amoung other things, a VERY lengthy game with tons of enemies and missions to do. There are 3D levels where you put on 3D glasses and everything jumps out at you. Its amazing and family friendly. Be the first person on your block to play this game!

Please note that you DO NOT need to have played ANY of the other Sly games in order to enjoy this game. Although it is essential to understand some of the storyline, it is not needed to actually enjoy this all new, action-packed game.

Unlike what most people was saying, this game has easily surpassed both previous installments. What are you waiting for? GET IT NOW!!!!! (Note that the violence is almost NULL and VOID in this game, the rating of 10+ is only due to the cartoon violence that is the same as if you were reading a comic book of Spiderman or Superman, it is quite discreet and younger children CAN play this game without the risk of violence being the dominating theme. It is all in fun and absolutely NO gore, sexual themes, and other themes games have taken the route of recently)

Overall: On the buy scale: an easy 5 out of 5

Fun Factor: 5 out of 5

Gameplay: 5 out of 5

Wow Factor: 4 out of 5 (aside from the 3D glasses, nothing new here in visual presentation)

New Gameplay: 5 out of 5

Replay Value: 4 out of 5 (can get repetitive over time)

Based on the scores totaled: 5 out of 5

I.E. If you don't buy it, you WILL miss out!!!!!!!!!

Let me just say that I really enjoyed this game .It's one of the funnest game that I've ever played. Let me start out with the storyline . The game begins where the previous game left off. bentley is now in a wheel chair , since he was injured at the end of the last game ,and murray has left the team to go on a path of peacfulness and non-violence, because he blames himself for what happend to Bentley , since he was close to Bentley when he got injured , so he thinks he could have saved him .Meanwhile , Sly meets a guy from his father's old gang , that tells him about a secret island somewhere in the pacific ocean , that holds the cooper vault . This vault is the place in which Sly's ancestors put all of their loot and treasures in . Naturally , Sly goes to find the vault. However , when he arrives , he sees that someone called Dr.M is already there. Apparentlry this guy has been trying to crack open the cooper vault for years , to no avail .He became so paranoid ,that he even built a huge, heavily guarded fortress around the vault to protect it , while he tries to break in . Sly and bentley realize that they're going to need to recruit new members to the gang if they want to get in the vault , and this is where the game starts .

in the rest of the game , you visit 6 different levels , the are longer , funner , and more complex than those in the second game. In each of these levels ,you will need to recruit a new member to your gang .However , it's not that simple . Each of the thieves that you recruit will ask you to do them a favor before they join your team , so you'll have to complete many missions in each world before that thief will join your team.

The missions are also longer and more fun than those in the second game , and usually you'll use two or more members to complete each step of the mission. You will also get the option to replay each mission you complete once you beat it ,something that the secong game didn't have , and this gives the game a big replay value.

speaking of new characters , you will get five other playable characters in the game . The good thing is , that although you get to play the other characters , the main focus is still on sly , bentley and murray , and they're the only characters that can use the gadgets that you buy from thiefnet. (speaking of which , each character will get new attacks and gadgets ,and keep some of their old ones as well )Still, he mini games with each of the other characters are very fun to play ,and they never get too repetitve (like in the second game). The new characters are:

A.the gure He is a magical koala that can jump on a guard's head , and control his mind , making him run around and smash into things. He can also camouflage himself , to hide from the guards.

B.Penelope -She's has an RC chopper and an RC car , which you will control in some of the missions . they're both very fun .

C.panda king He's basically the new demolitions expert in the gang . Gamers might remember him from the first game . He can also shoot fireworks at enemies .

D.Dimitri-He does all of the underwater missions for the gang . He also appeared in the secong game .

E.Camelita-(she's not really in the gang , just sometimes sly and the gang bait her into attacking one of their enemies ,then you get control of her.)she can jump really high , and she also has a shock pistol , which is pretty useful.

Another good thing is the graphics. These are great , cartoonish , cel-shaded graphics, and they look really great .Speaking of graphics , the game also has some missions that can be played using 3-D glasses that come in the manual . These are really geat , and they make the game seem very realistic , and the images seem to pop out at you. Even though the entire game is not playable in 3-D , most of the missions you complete are playable in 3-D after you finish them . The 3-D glasses are an awesome feature.

Also , this game has a multiplayer mode. there are 4 modes , and they're all very fun . they are pirate battle (where you fight at sea with battleships ) , biplane dogfighting , co-op hacking , and cops and robbers(one player , Sly , has to steal 5 items and drop them off at certain points ,and the other player, carmelita , has to kill Sly 5 times)

I highly recommend this game to anyone , and I really think it's an awesome game that does a good combination of action , adventure , and stealth .

This collection is Modern Warfare 1 and 2 and nothing more or less than that. You can buy both of these games separately these days for $19.99 or less, so why spend $60 on this? Do yourself a favor and buy the games separately and save yourself $20 which you can put towards MW3 or something else. When I purchased this collection it was only $29.99. I don't know why its been jacked up since then.

Don't waste your money on buying both of these together in this pack! You can buy both of them separately for a drastically reduced price.

Best Deals for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Collection

This is a great way to get both of these games at a reasonable price. As others stated COD4 is the red case greatest hits edition but that shouldn't bug you unless you're like Monk and have some kind of disorder...definitely recommended.

Update 03-11-2011 Since they patched it the game is now playable again!! Hopefully no more hacking for a bit.

Honest reviews on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Collection

In their earlier days, these games were perfect. I bought them both when they came out, and I would have rated them 5 stars. But this combo pack is aimed at new players... if you are buying this for the single player campaign, then go for it. Know each campaign is very short, and you would be done with both games in maybe 12-14 hours total. But the story is awesome, and I enjoyed them.

If you are buying it to play online, then STAY AWAY. These games are hacked beyond belief. There is no end in sight for all of this either. Hackers have literally raped these games, and they are unrecognizable now. Players are invisible, invincible... have unlimited ammo, and now aimbots have been introduced too.

STAY AWAY. its too late for these games.

EDIT: I know that MW2 was patched, so they are finally gone! Upping this back to a 5-star review, because some of my favorite gaming moments happened in these games. So get back on it! IW finally listened to the people. It took 'em long enough though...
