Obviously, some people writing these reviews have not actually played this new installment of the FIFA series. The newest FIFA is probably the best ever. Road to the World Cup had many flaws that were corrected in this game. 2006 FIFA World Cup has many fun game modes and very good online play with very little lag. This is probably one of my favorite games out on the 360 and is definitely worth your money.

I respectfully disagree with the previous comments saying this game is similar to RTWC. For me RTWC was not finished and had to go out in order to not loose the momentum of the Xbox 360 launch. This version is probably the RTWC, but ready for the market. It has the Fifa 06 (for Xbox) gameplay, and more !!! It also has all the nice graphics that we had in RTWC. For me this is the best soccer game ever in terms of quality and gameplay. For sure there are some basic mistakes, as any other Fifa game, i.e.: you can't see the overall rate of each player without manually going to every single player's bio (x button); you can't create a tournament for 2 people and use the cpu teams to play against your friend, you can only play with one of the 2 teams you've marked as user teams; the goalkeeper may still jump to catch the ball and fall down inside the goal, while the referee doesn't flag that as a score; and some others that the Fifa consumers are already used to (unfortunately). I also agree the price is extremely high ... but it is worth it. If you like Fifa and was upset with RTWC, I do recommend this game.

I'm an American who played soccer when he was a kid but really doesn't watch much on TV aside from when the World Cup rolls around every 4 years, so take my review w/ a grain of salt. However, that said, I think FIFA World Cup 2006 on the Xbox 360 is a VERY fun soccer game. I'm told that the Winning Eleven series (which unfortunately doesn't have an Xbox 360 version yet) is a more accurate soccer simulation, but I never felt like FIFA WC 2006 was too arcadey. I think it does a good job of emulating real soccer. The animations are very good, the details in the players and stadiums are great on the 360 in high-definition, and the announcing and other sounds are very well-done (when I was playing a game, my wife thought I was watching a real World Cup match).

Honest reviews on 2006 FIFA World Cup - Xbox 360

I recently borrowed FIFA World Cup 2006 from my friend and was amazed at how great it was. This is by far the best soccer game I have ever played. The graphics are excellent and are the best I have seen in any soccer game. FIFA World Cup 2006 certainly provides you with the ultimate world cup experience! Overall this is a great game and worth buying!

Now that the world cup has come and gone, I still continue to love this game. I had never played a soccer game before in my life, but I tried this one out and it definitely hooked me in. The controls are easy to learn, and it's fun to get to learn the rosters of different teams since the graphics are so good you can easily learn what players look like.

just about any hdmi cable under 10ft should fit the bill...when I opened the box for this cable, I was shocked at what I found...this is the beefiest hdmi cable I have ever come across...so maybe it's just my own imagination and expectations, but I felt that the picture was a little better...whatever the case, amazon basics hdmi cable was a total welcome to my blu ray...I would recommend this cable to anyone...glad I bought it...

Guess there isn't too much too say about an HDMI cable, though this thing is definitely solid and well-made. From the feel of it, it's got shielding enough to withstand a electromagnetic pulse. You could buy the AmazonBasics High Speed HDMI Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] for much less, but, for me, paying the extra for such a solid cable is worth it, and the price beats all the other "premium" HDMI cables.

It works it, suspiciously almost works too good. Nah, that sense is unappreciated doubt for all the times my walet was out to the cleaners purchasing other video equipment. Buy 2 or 3 mabey you won't have to buy hdmi conector ever again. And isn't that amazon's plan anyway.

This is way more fun than I figured it would be. I got my son Just Dance Kids for the Xbox 360 a year or two ago and he enjoys that, but he's seven now and since we got the new Xbox this is one of the games we decided to get. It is actually very nicely done.

I have been playing it a little on my own, but it is really fun to play with my son. You can play with up to six people at a time, which is amazing. The most we've done so far is three, and it works perfectly with that.

Wish there was a little better mix of music. Music categories I'd like to see included are: techno/house, folk rock, some 90s alt rock, and would absolutely love it if they released some songs from musicals.

It's pretty good exercise, too. I've worked up a sweat more than once, and there's a workout mode where you can just dance to whatever song you want for a set or infinite amount of time.

I definitely think it's worth a buy.

My husband and I are both 30 and we are big kids. Since the new XBox One came out a couple days ago, we've spent at least an hour, more like two playing this each night. I love the songs on this Just Dance, especially...the "Get Lucky" song and dance. It's really really smooth and easy to get into, like a real dance...not as much of a stiff choreographed feel, so you get a lot of "I'm just dancing like I'm a boss" feel from it, haha. Also, it's got "Blurred Line" and one of my other favorites to dance to on this one was "Wake me up" which we had to pay an extra $2.99 for. Anyway, I love Just Dance games, this was is a fresh addition. My husband thinks that the Xbox is funky with sensing who is playing and keeping it straight. Sometimes it would switch me back and forth between 2 characters and mess my points up and he'd win...that's not good. Enjoy! ;)

Just Dance is ok, but I prefer the Dance Central interface. I wish there was a new Dance Central out for the system, but there isn't yet. JD is good enough that I will play it though.

For the price.. I'd expect more songs. Also, I'm into techno and house music and it's all pop songs. The technology aspect is cool though as it recognizes your face and body and plays back the song. But, the playback is off as well and not that entertaining to watch.

I enjoy the game but the developers could have done much better. I'm a fan of the older motogp and sbk racing games like MotoGP 2008. Altough there are similarities, the handling is much different. I disagree with a lot of the handling characteristics and what the programmers believe is the best racing line on the track.

Racing online can be kind of a joke, but sometimes fun. The main problem with games like these is that the developers and programmers need to set the game up so that people can't cheat, or find alternative routes through grass or wherever. Most people online (which is mainly people in Europe and Asia) don't know how to race, or don't race properly. They will try to run you off the track or run into you from behind forcing you off the track.

The campaign is fun, practices and qualifying. They could go more in depth with the storyline and campaign though.

Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Xbox Review

I have been a drummer for about 14 years. I have been around guitars most of my life, but never really felt like learning one, mainly cause hitting drums seemed easier to me. I got this controller about a week ago and I have already learned 5 songs on expert. If you are not very good with rockband/guitarhero guitars, but still love the game for singing or drums, this may be for you. I can't play a single song on the 5 button guitar controller on the expert difficulty setting. But in a week I can play 5 songs, easy songs, but full songs.

SIZE - This this is slightly bigger than a 5 button guitar, but weight wise feels the same.

QUALITY -I haven't had any problems with a button not responding and the strings are steel coated with nylon, which seem like cheap plastic from the sound they give off. But they are durable, they just sound like plastic. I don't mind this because they are infinitely quieter than uncoated strings. But make no mistake, this IS a plastic guitar controller.

NEW features -With songs that have Pro guitar/bass charting you can practice the song like normal. But there is a new trainer unique to each song under the "learn to play song" section. Here the song is broken down to its basic components. For example the song "The Hardest button to Button" only had 3 components. You practice these components as you would a beat or fill in the drum trainer. Once you master the components you go to practice song and place them where they go and bahdabingbahdaboom you now know a song.

CONS -None that I have noticed so far. But I am not too familiar with guitars so I may never notice. A friend of mine that came by to give it a shred said that with strings you can feel which string you are on easier cause on a "real" guitar the strings are different thicknesses. On this its just 17 frets of buttons, all the same size. (thickness, not width) But he loved this anyway, cause he learned to play a song he likes and has never tried to play before.

If anyone has a specific question about this, or even about the software (the game rockband) just ask here and i will answer asap. :)

First off let me just get this out of the way. I did not purchase this from Amazon, I purchased it from Gameshark.com and have had it for about 2 weeks now.

I was incredibly skeptical about this guitar when I first heard about it. "A plastic six string guitar? How's that supposed to work?" However, I heard nothing but good things about this guitar over at the Rock Band forums so I knew I had to actually try this for myself. So essentially this is a plastic guitar that has 102 buttons that is supposed to mimic a 6-stringed, 17 fretted guitar. The neck has numbers on each edge by the 3rd fret, the 5th fret, and so-on, similar to real guitar so you have a guide to where which numbered fret is where. As far as the rest of the buttons are concerned, you have the A, B, X, and Y buttons on the right side of the pick guard, and you have your start, back and guide buttons on the left side of the pick guard. If you are left handed like me, this layout is unfortunately terrible because instead of the buttons being located directly below the strings where they're easy to reach, they are instead located under your arm pit essentially. This isn't a big deal, but it's incredibly annoying if you're a south paw. One of my absolute favorite features of this guitar is how you can disassemble it into three pieces. You can easily pull the entire neck out of the body of the guitar, and you can also easily take the head stock off of the neck, unlike the RB3 Stratocaster where trying to remove the head stock is a chore.

Now down to playing the guitar. Like I said before it has six plastic strings that are all the same gauge or thickness, which is different from a real guitar of course, but I'm glad that they took this route so us leftys could try pro mode. This unfortunately is a bit of a problem, because on a real guitar you can tell what string you're playing by feeling how thick it is, but now since both the strings and the buttons are all the same gauge, it's harder to tell what you're playing without looking at the guitar. Another thing that's lost in translation with this guitar is the lack of vibration from the strings. Again, when playing a real guitar whenever you pluck a string it vibrates and you can tell if you're putting your finger on the right string on the fret board based on the vibration. Since this obviously can't happen with this plastic guitar, unavoidably there will be situations where you'll have your finger on the right button, but you'll be plucking the wrong string. This isn't a deal breaker, but it can cause some confusion. And now for my last little gripe about playing this guitar, the strumming. This may vary from person to person, but I find that trying to strum a string quickly can be quite difficult when done continuously. On a real guitar, yes I'm a broken record, when strumming a string quickly you usually only graze the string when you play it, but this technique won't work particularly well on the Mustang since it's wont pick up light strums most of the time.

At the end of the day, the Mustang is a really fun peripheral to use. It's awfully similar to a real guitar, and it's incredibly fun to use. I really wish this guitar wasn't so darn expensive though. $150 seems awfully steep for a plastic guitar, but it does have over 100 buttons so I suppose it's pretty expensive to make. If you have any desire to learn guitar or bass, then this is easily one of the most entertaining ways to do so. I know Madcatz has a pretty bad reputation when it comes to their products, but this guitar is a quality item. I will definitely update this review if anything goes wrong with it however.

Best Deals for Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Xbox

First and foremost, the guitar does appear to work as advertised, however I bought it about a week ago and will be sending back tomorrow. I am familar with playing the guitar (not tons of experience, but can play a hadful of tunes) so I figured this would be a good way to enjoy Rock Band 3 and get some practice in at the same time.

I didn't realize just how much the fact that the strings at the bottom and the fret buttons were all the same size would throw me off. All of the strings are the same thickness/size (probably so they'll stay strong and won't break since there doesn't appear to be a way to change them), and this makes playing while staring at the TV extrememly difficult. Every string and button feels exactly the same, so it's difficult to play by feel.

Also, the guitar seems a lot heavier in the neck, and this kind of threw the balance off whenever I would play. Make sense due to the amount of wiring / etc. that i am sure is in the neck, but still pretty annoying.

I'm not saying that someone who kept trying couldn't maybe get used to it, but at this price why risk it? I'll be buying the actual guitar when it comes out later this year since this didn't work out. I felt bad about giving it two stars since it works as it should, etc. but two stars means "I don't like it" and that's the best description I would give it really. While it is an interesting idea, I can't see any reason to recommend this over the actual guitar Fender will be putting out later this year, especially after having used this one.

Honest reviews on Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Xbox

I was a bit worried when I heard that Madcatz was doing the hardware for this RB3 Pro Guitar. Although Madcatz has improved their hardware over the years, I knew this pro guitar needed to be solid and with this many buttons, it had to have good quality.

Well the quality is very good overall and the body, buttons, and strings have a solid feel. The one area where the design is a bit weak is in the knobs that hold the strap, especially the one you screw is directly in the seem of the body and can easily push apart the seem of the guitar and not lock tight. To fix this, I just used a helping of Duco Cement. Now this means that I can no flip the strap to the lefty side but I can live with that and I don't have to worry about this knob popping out.

I also had to screw in a few of the top screws of the body (this was why the knob did not fit right) because it seemed one of the body screws was not fully seated. But I suspect this manufacturing glitch may not be that common.

Other than that, the guitar feels very solid for a plastic game controller. Much more solid and polished feel than I would have expected. Sure its an expensive game controller but its fairly complex piece of hardware and they did a very good job with making the buttons, neck, etc all feel like a guitar. Lighter and not quite as big as a guitar, but the fret distances are pretty much spot on.

One thing to note is that this guitar can be used in standard guitar modes and thats a good way to get a feel for the different fret spacing but the main purpose of this guitar is using pro mode to learn guitar. If you just want to play Rock Band with the best standard controller, this is not it. This guitar is for pro-mode and pro-mode has a much steeper learning curve than the standard Rock Band game. And for that purpose, this guitar delivers!

Pro-mode is very well done with great pacing where you go from learning basic notes and slowly advance to learning cords etc. And although they do not use tab for the notation, they have come up with a notation that is similar to tab but work well with the highway display and fast scrolling that will come with playing songs. I still think it would have bee nice to include a full tab mode but my guess is they tried that and found the new notation to work best.

So, although you will not learn tab reading skills, you will learn the chord names and shapes needed to play all the RB3 pro mode songs and that is impressive. Honestly, the pro mode trainers are much more complete than I would have thought. They really spent some time putting this together. Also, when you miss a chord, it can automatically stop the song, show you the correct fingering, and let you get it before you continue. It works very well and if you don't like it, you can turn it off.

Back to the hardware... Right now, I give it 5 stars because it just works. Now, for those that play guitar, you will quickly find issues here because, and this needs to be clear, this is not a guitar. Its a guitar trainer. It has some very basic differences that make some things hard to transition from real guitar to this trainer. First and most obvious is the lack of strings on the neck. What is the effect here? Well, you don't have the same feel for the string/fret so its a bit of a different feel as far as the coordination of your hands on the strings and pairing that up to the fret that pairs up with that string. But, since a real guitar give you more feedback, it may be easier to transition TO A REAL GUITAR, then FROM A REAL GUITAR. Which is sort of the whole point of a guitar training. So, if already know how to play a real guitar and you don't want re-learn a trainer, you should probably wait for the Fender Squier ($250-$350) to come out. But if you are just learning guitar, this makes one impressive trainer.

The only remaining question is how well the hardware hold up after months of use. So far, it feels like it will hold up well. But that is nearly impossible to predict. So, come back here in a few months and see if the review change. But for right now, this thing is a great guitar trainer.

UPDATE: I have since upgraded to Rocksmith for learning real guitar. At the time I did this review, RB pro-mode was the best choice. But today, I have to say that getting an inexpensive guitar and getting Rocksmith is a much better option. It does not change my review or score but I will say that I will not go back to Rockband Pro mode because I feel that Rocksmith has nailed the real-guitar trainer.

One of the three greatest inventions in the history of human kind....that greatly contributed to insomnia. Here they are..

1. Thomas Alva Edison invented the light bulb.

2. Microsoft (or who ever who sold it to them) invented the Kinect and Harmonix made Dance Central game for it.

3. Harmonix (once again) invented Pro Guitar for rockband 3.

Mustang Pro guitar is good. I mean really good. I mean really really good.

To start this review with.. I'm a beginning guitar player. I'm was studying the 4th stage of a 6 stage lesson DVD set (Metal Method by Doug Marks: he is great BTW) when I got the Mustang Pro guitar. Anyway long story short; I'm not a good guitar player at all.

*Can it teach you to play real guitar? Hex yeah!!

**Does the Mustang pro guitar simulate a real guitar? IMHO better!!

*First I did the first two of the training sessions with Mustang Pro. And then I picked up a real guitar while my wife tried the same training sessions with the Mustang Pro. On the real guitar I was able to easily play the same in the electric guitar with the practice I got from the mustang Pro. AND it sounds awesome sound coming out through the guitar amp when it blends with the sound track of the game. 'Hey, that sounds v-e-r-y good' were my wife's exact words.

**I have read comments about people talking about the guitar feeling light to; strings are same thickness to; buttons being the same thickness to; there is no correlation between buttons and the strings you strum. In my experience none of this is the case. I cannot feel the thickness of the strings with the pick anyway (duh.) What I am learning from this is the skill to approximate the distance between the strings without looking. With practice able to do this better and better. Same goes for the buttons. My finger beginning to remember where they need to move to press for each note. This is a skill I can take directly to the real guitar. The buttons work very well, interestingly even for slides.

So why did I say in someway the pro guitar is better than a real guitar... There is something more satisfying about picking these strings with the pick than picking real metal strings. I threw out the picks that came with it and got Dunlop standard thickness Nylon picks. When picking the strings with those picks the strings almost feel like these strings are rubber not plastic. It's a good feeling .. u'll know what I mean once you get one yourself [UPDATE A DAY LATER: I had only played single notes and power chords when I wrote this. Later I played major chords and the strings get pretty loud when doing that. No big deal though.] As far as the construction of the guitar goes it's sturdy enough and you forget about the guitar once you get immersed in the game. Maybe wish the body was bigger like a real guitar so I could rest the elbow of the strumming arm on it when sitting down.

The reason learning with this is better than learning with an actual guitar is... you ALAWAYS have a backing track and a cool note highway showing where to play.

I can write this review into pages but I would cut it short.. because I myself dislike reading long reviews.

-If you want to learn guitar buy this.

-If you want to teach your kids guitar buy them this.

-If you don't have the time, patience or interest to learn don't buy this

I did notice one thing...in most of the trainings it tells you where which finger to put on which fret. On two trainings it did not tell me where how to move down the frets . For example it was wanting me to play 5th, 7th and 8th frets and to play the 5th string with my index finger. Suddenly it wants me to play the 9th fret but does not tell me which finger to use. So I'm confused whether to move my hand all the way down and play with the index or stretch my pinky to play the 9th fret (this was a base line by the way. ) I wish there was an option where I could watch a video of a hand playing that piece if I wanted to . That's about all I can nit pick about. I would figure this out or ask somebody who knows... so no big deal.

TEN stars. Harmonix, come here so I can give you a kiss.

I was very skeptical when I first got these, but I quickly changed my mind for the better. I got the for the positive reviews and because they are legal at MLG events. So back to the product. When I I started playing with them I did worse but like other reviews said you just have to get used to it. After an hour I started to do better with 1V1's and so I turned my sensitivity to 10 and my accuracy and my KD started to improve on COD Black Ops.

Overall Performance:

This is not a miracle accessory. It does help a good amount but don't expect it to make you a god at FPS's. If you want to improve your game and have the money to spend the get this. if you are just a casual gamer who just plays every once in a while then keep your money because this is not something you will need. I hoped this helps your decision,

Justin.

Works perfect, I feel more comfortable and more accurate playing Call of Duty with this on my controller. It doesn't decrease any timing away from your melee knifing. Your thumb may be further away from the controller but the attachment is ATTACHED to the analog sticks so when you melee someone it will be just as normal as if you'd take the attachment off. I am going to clear some things up. IT DOESNT ruin your original analog, it doesnt make your thumb cramp up, and you don't bump thumbs unless you actually are trying to. Best way to use these are to put it only on your aiming side of the controller [the right analog]. There is no reason to put one on the left side of the controller unless you have OCD and like everything symmetrical. I recommend this to all FPS gamers.

Best Deals for FPS Freek Prestige by KontrolFreek

I've tried these special edition Black Ops "Prestige" FPS Freeks as well as the regular version and the Halo: Reach "Legendary Edition" FPS Freeks. I would say that if you're looking for a concave (i.e., Xbox-style) grip, then go with the regular edition (either Classic White, Vipr, or Vipr Ultra) instead; the regular FPS Freek, I've found, offers a better grip because the material the rubber is made out of feels slightly more tacky/grippy, and less slippery. These Prestige Edition FPS Freeks have a harder rubber material that's more slippery to your thumb, I've found. Another reason the grip is worse is that there is a new set raised dots set in a circular ring pattern around the edge of rubber, which I presume was originally conceived as a way to improve grip, but I instead found that these extra raised dots decreased the surface area contact/grip between your thumb and the rubber (and thus, harder to keep a grip).

In short, I would go for the "Classic White" or "Vipr" varieties of the FPS Freek, as I find that they are better designed overall and offer a better grip, as well as being a few dollars cheaper to boot. I might post a review of the regular FPS Freeks and the "Legendary Edition" FPS Freeks sometime in the future. On a side note, the Legendary FPS Freeks are a convex (i.e., PlayStation-style) version of the FPS Freek, with a rounded top that's more similar to the analog sticks on the PS3 controller, if you're more accustomed to that style of grip.

This is my video review of the FPS Freeks by Kontrol Freek.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for FPS Freek Prestige by KontrolFreek

This is actually my first review, but after my experience with this product, I felt that I should share my thoughts.

I have read many online reviews and heard a few of my favorite YouTube commentators recommend the FPS Freek, so when I recently received an Amazon gift card, I finally decided to try them for myself. I chose the FPS Freek Prestige edition because it appeared to have more grip than the original model.

Let me start by saying right off the bat, I'm already a good COD player. I play about twice a week with a group of 1-4 of my friends. In Black Ops, I'm 11th prestige, so I've had a decent chance to get familiar with the game and each of the multiplayer levels. I mostly play CTF, playing the objective and capturing flags. When I received the FPS Freek on March 29th, I had a 1.18WL and 1.46 KD. As of today, April 11, I have a 1.22 WL and 1.49 KD.

Can I really say that my improvement these last two weeks has been 100% attributable to the FPS Freek? No, but I can say that I was stuck on 1.46 KD for about a month, and that the only thing that I've changed during this period has been the addition of the FPS Freek. Also, I just "feel" like a better player. I'm able to get on target more quickly and I'm winning more of those gun battles that I previously may have lost. It's a great feeling when you're taking damage and you're able to turn around on the enemy and get the kill.

About analog controller sensitivity-I was already on level 4. I have since moved up to 5 and will continue experimenting with higher levels.

Is an improvement of .03 for my KD worth 10-15 dollars? For me, it was plenty worth it. With over 30,000 kills, it takes A LOT to move your ratio in any direction. To be where I am after only two weeks, I am VERY pleased with my purchase. I recommend giving it a try!

*** Here's a tip. If the ~15 dollars seems a bit much to you. Split a pair with a friend. I actually only use a single FPSFreek on the right analog stick. It's really unnecessary to have one on the left analog stick since most of your aiming should be done with the right stick.

*UPDATE* June 7, 2011

Just wanted to update this review and mention that I'm still very pleased with this product. As of last night, I'm up to 1.28 WL and 1.52 KD at sensitivity 5. One of my friends was so impressed at my recent play that he actually purchased a set for himself. For the price of an expansion Map pack, I think these are a great buy.

*UPDATE* July 4, 2011

I'm up to 1.34 WL and 1.54 KD. I just passed the 41,000 kill threshold, so these small improvements while only playing once or twice a week are quite impressive. I'm still very pleased with this product!

I have been using Avermedia capture cards for over a year now and this card is the newest and best capture device they have to offer when it comes to capturing gameplay. I Post gaming footage every day on my youtube channel and this card, along with the Live Gamer HD, have proven themselves to be real workhorses. With the new Rec Central software you have the option to scale the bitrate so you can choose between small file sizes or extreme quality.

On a rare occasion maybe once out of 50 recordings the audio will desync or just not be there and the TS video format does not load audio in Sony Vegas. Often vegas will not recognize the correct frame rate of the video file which is easily corrected by checking "disable resample" but it would be nice if I didn't have to do this. Minus 1 star for those reasons.

I had been using the Elgato Game Capture HD to record my gameplay and commentary videos for YouTube. Some games worked OK, others would continually give me a black screen that would flash on the gameplay monitor which made it impossible to make a video that didn't have me stopping and waiting for the black screen to go away or flat out getting killed. I was well aware of the advanced tab and tried every last combination to rid myself of this problem, to no avail. The problem appeared to be game specific with some games working fine and others giving me the black screen. Honestly it wasn't worth it to keep fiddling with the Elgato. I was about to look at the Hauppauge when I ran across the LGP and decided to give it a try.

I got the Live Gamer Portable, unboxed it and decided to try out the PC-Free recording first since that was the simplest thing to set up and didn't require me to move the laptop and everything else into the room that I record in. Setup was a breeze. 3 wires, turn on the system, start playing and hit the button on the top. (Make sure to format the SD card to FAT32 so it actually works). I decided to try the game that was giving me the endless Black screen issues on the Elgato as my test recording. Everything worked without a hitch. No black screens, no lag, no problems at all. I did several recordings of 15-20 minutes and then took the SD card out, plugged it into my laptop slot and viola the video was there and looked great.

Next I decided to bring the laptop in and setup for recording with commentary to see how that worked. Setup was simple, just like the Elgato. Just flip the switch on the LGP from PC-Free to PC capture, start the software and you are ready to go. I did have to play with the level of the microphone versus the game volume to get it just right, but that only took about 10 minutes of fiddling. Once everything was set I saved the profile and use that for my commentary videos.

One thing I will point out comparing the Elgato to the LGP the LGP does all of the work for you and uses a lot less system resources than the Elgato when recording on the PC. I don't use a top of the line laptop to record and with the Elgato I had to record at a max of 720p at the lowest quality settings in order to not get frame drops. Using the exact same laptop and the LGP I am able to record at 60fps and at the highest quality settings without frame drops or lag. The Elgato has a very noticeable lag from the game monitor to what you are seeing in the preview window of the software on your PC. If you are not careful and don't wait for the system to catch up, you can lose a couple of seconds of your recording and cut off the end of your commentary.

The LGP does not have the lag issues, probably because the capture device does all the conversion right there before it hits your PC. With the Elgato, you have to wait for the system to convert the video and if your system isn't very powerful, you will have to wait for the conversion to finish before you record again or risk frame drops and messed up audio sync. With the LGP, what goes to your computer is the finished video, no waiting for conversion and no drain on system resources.

A couple of other things which make the LGP a better device:

You have the choice of recording your commentary as a separate audio file. While this doesn't seem like a big deal, if you decide your commentary wasn't that great and that you would rather just put up the gameplay video, you will have to re-record or spend a lot of time editing out your commentary in another piece of software. With the LGP, you just throw away the commentary file and use the video without having to do any more work. That's a real win! If you don't want to do the commentary as a separate file with the LGP you also have the option to go ahead and record it as one file, just like the Elgato does. The big difference is that you have a choice as to how you want to record your commentary. You don't risk having to re-record or spend time editing out bad commentary.

PC-free recording is a huge advantage, especially if you either don't have a pc near your gaming station or if you just want to take the device to a friend's house to do some recording. Add to all of that the fact that you can put the device on your PC and record to you SD card without using system resources while PC gaming and you just have another plus that the Elgato can't match.

For me, the LGP is the superior device. It gives me more options as to how I am going to record. It allows me to record PC-Free, even if I am gaming on the PC itself, which allows me to save system resources. The LGP fixed the black screen issue and the software that does the recording on your PC gives you more options as to how to record your commentary. IMHO the LGP is the device to get.

The only thing I would like to see updated would be a change to the RECentral software that allows you to setup the system to mute or reduce the game volume while you are talking. This would save some time in setup for users who don't want to mess with adjusting the commentary volume and gameplay volume so that both can be heard. Other than that, the product works flawlessly right out of the box.

Pros

+ Portable capture device with 720P 60FPS in PC-Free Mode

(1080P 30FPS with the beta patch)

+ Small file sizes

+ Easy to understand

(Blue ring for PC mode, Red Ring for PC-Free, flashing ring for when it's recording or streaming)

+ Easy Interface

(Novice and beginner options are easy to follow if you don't know much about video encoding. Pro option is simple with some knowledge of video encoding)

+ Can stream out of the box with RECentral

+ The time shift feature to go back and save footage that you didn't click record on is a nice touch

+ Many encoding options in PC Mode. Up to 1080P 30FPS and 60Mbps bitrate. 720P goes up to 60FPS with 60Mbps bitrate. TS or MP4 video format.

Cons

PC-Free only uses 4Mbps, 8Mbps, 12Mbps, 16Mbps at 720P with 60FPS. The beta patch as of May 23rd allows 1080P at 30FPS

(It would be nice for a a higher bitrates for a clearer picture, but I wish you could choose 30FPS with the 720P option as it'll use less space when you're just gonna upload unedited footage straight to YouTube which only runs at 30FPS at the moment, so the extra space for the extra frames aren't needed)

The lower bitrate's when streaming with RECentral aren't very good compared to using other streaming software

(XSplit, Open Broadcaster Software)

Timeshift only works with the TS video format.

SanDisk 32 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SDSDB-032G-AFFP

These are rough estimates of the amount of space you'll take up with an hour of PC-Free Mode footage:

4Mbps (1.8GB)

8Mbps (3.6GB)

12Mbps (5.4GB) ~ Default Setting

16Mbps (7.2GB)

Honest reviews on AVerMedia - C875 Live Gamer Portable (LGP) HD Game Capture

Video capture cards have come a long way in the last several years. When I started YouTube 4 years ago there were only 2 products available. The Hauppauge HDPVR and the BlackMagic Intensity Pro. Since then many devices have come to market and I have personally tested the majority of them. In order of date of purchase this list includes:

Hauppauge HDPVR

BlackMagic Intensity Pro

BlackMagic Intensity Extreme

Avermedia Live Gamer HD

Roxio Game Capture HD Pro

When I was asked to test out the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable (ALP) I was skeptical about another device entering an already saturated market. However Avermedia has taken the Livegamer Portable into another class of capture cards by adding several key features that separates it from the rest of the pack. The first being the ability the record in PC Free mode directly onto a SD Card (sold separately). As it's name suggests this makes it the first truly "Portable" Device on the market today. Its important to note that PC Free capture is limited to 720p. The second key feature is the seamless capture of PC footage that has replaced the use of third party programs such as Dxtory and Fraps. The main benefit that the ALP offers over these programs is the minimum CPU resources it requires since the H.264 encoding is performed directly onto the device. It is also now possible to record PC footage with two or more GPU's in SLI or Crossfire without screen latency. I personally run two GTX 690's in Quad SLI and and cannot record a series via Dxtory or Fraps without frame latency caused by the second card. PC Free Recording and PC Capture optimization are the two key features that the ALP has over its competitors. My complete list of pros and cons are listed below.

Pros:

Can do everything the other products do.

REC Central remains the most user friendly software on the market.

One touch record button directly built onto the device.

PC Free Mode that can capture footage at 720p.

Full 1080p XBOX 360 & Nintendo Wii U recording. PS3 limited to 720p via an included dedicated cable due to HDCP protection.

True 1080p PC quality. Due to high CPU resource consumption most YouTuber's that use Dxtory or Fraps capture at 50-75% quality and upscale video to 1080p.

High end PC's running multiple GPU's no longer suffer frame latency.

Cons:

Recording Limited to 1080p @ 30fps. No 2560x1440+ support. 30fps adequate as YouTube down scales all video to 30fps.

Video playback is limited to 60hz (60fps). Those with 120+hz PC monitors will be automatically down scaled

If your GPU does not have an HDMI output you will need to purchase an DVI-HDMI adapter. I used the one included from a previous purchase of the PCI-E Live Gamer HD.

Separate audio amp or device needed if you plan to use headphones. I use the Astro A40 Mixamp.

No MacOSX Support

PC Setup is a bit difficult (I have a tutorial on my channel)

Overall the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable is one the most versatile capture devices I have used so far. Due to its user friendly interface and PC capture optimization it has a permanent place on my desk and is always connected. If you are interested in capturing game footage at home or on the go you can't go wrong with the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable.

EDIT: After roughly 4 weeks of normal usage (generally 6 hours a day) my device crapped out and would no longer be recognized by my pc. I grueled through the replacement process (which was a week of back and forth with customer support) and after two weeks later, I got my replacement. My replacement had a new issue where it was cutting off the video signal everytime a black screen popped up (ie loading transitions). Not acceptable to me. I had to bite the bullet and return this item despite how much I loved using this device. I actually did a video review as well as streamed constantly with the device, and it when it worked, it worked great. Unfortunately, I cannot live with crapping out hardware, as this experience does not bode well with me. I'm going to find an alternative.

I've been doing a lot of research in the past months for a viable capture card that is capable of meeting my needs. I am proud to say that the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable exceeds all of my expectations and really sets itself apart from it's counterparts.

I've streamed and recorded footage from Xbox 360 and PS3 seamlessly through the avermedia software. Not to mention having a neato hot button so you don't have to be by your computer. It's so convenient to be able to stream and tweak the settings within the same program (I am not familiar with how to use xsplit or obs). Commentary is easy to add (you have the option of exporting a seperate mp3 file for your voice recording). PC free mode is a nifty feature, especially if you don't have a computer handy.

However I originally had some problems with the software. First, I had a hard time getting my ps3 to display correctly. Since the PS3 can't capture through HDMI thanks to HDCP, you have to use a proprietary cable to connect directly to your capture card. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong. In order to get the screen to display, you need to set up a profile in the avermedia software and set it to component and then click the ready button. I had to figure this out myself and it was quite frustrating for my first experience, so I hope you can learn from this. Also, I had a problem to where the software would not recognize any of my microphones (however reinstalling the software somehow remedied this).

The HDMI cable it comes with is too short. I thought this wouldn't be a problem but it's useless to me. The usb cable it comes with is also in my opinion too short if I'm connecting it to my pc.

One thing I can proudly say is the device does not introduce any input lag, when playing rhythm games there is no change in performance. There's also no loss in quality to my tv.

Overall, there are still definitely some hitches in the software (which will definitely be fixed with updates) but honestly, you can't get a better usb capture card than this. Hopefully it can record next gen consoles.

For how little they, they do it so well. Before I bought them I found that I didn't keep my wireless 360 controllers in the best of storage situations when not in use. This changed everything. My two white 360 controllers now sit prominently in a very decorative manor that express how wonderful they are. And besides, they are only $10 for both.

I always had my xbox controllers lying around. They are great for wireless controllers as i have one controller next to sofa and the rest nicely displayed next to my TV. My only complaint for this product is the small rubber stoppers on the bottom of the "legs" comes off easily but hey for the price what do u expect. Overall a must have for those who wish to display their controllers in style

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Controller Cradles

I just received these and they were exactly what I was expecting. You receive two cradles in the package. Each cradle is white with chrome facing towards the bottom. A leg kicks out to help support the bulk of the cradle. Also, each cradle has small rubber grips that is supposed to help prevent the cradle from sliding around. Overall, I think these are a really good idea, but I do see a few minor problems.

I am a big fan of Call of Duty 4, so I need my wired mic plugged into the controller. But, the cradle doesn't allow you to keep your mic plugged in while its on the cradle. The other minor problem I see is the rubber grip on the bottom seems it could easily fall off if heated via the xBox 360.

Like I said, overall, these cradles are a great option for those people who don't have a great place to store their controllers and don't like them just laying on the floor. And, for less than $10, it's a great deal!

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Controller Cradles

These are great if you don't want to just leave your controller lying on the coffee table or on the floor. It gives a place for the controller to be and it displays it nicely. It doesn't take up any more space than the controller would by itself just lying there. I bought mine from Amazon for $4.99 and it comes with 2 cradles.

Pro: holds controller well. displays well.

Con: Nothing. Wall mounting optional would of been great.

True Crime: NYC is a great game, with tons of stuff to do and many elements that breathe life into the city. The storyline is actually only a minor fraction of the game, the real fun comes from driving around the city, doing the street crimes and discovering all the different stores around the city. There are car shops, music stores, dojos, and gun shops spread around the city that offer different cars, songs, fighting styles, weapons and other clothing.

Don't like driving around? Take a cab or ride the subway. Solve the crimes throughout the city and watch how the buildings and trees reflect the changes. You can kill, arrest, stun, frisk, interrogate or extort people, using different weapons and skills you acquire throughout the game.

Unlike GTA, in this game the whole city is actually filled with life.

Many people rented this game for a day and complain that it's just another GTA. I think that's because they did not spend the time to discover all the different things and activities in the city.

The graphics are great too. The city is full of details. There is a day/night cycle, weather effects, reflections on the ground and even litter flying around. All sorts of different cars and a bunch of street objects which are all breakable.

What's not to like?

So many of the game reviews are picky. One of the biggest complaints about this game has been that it is the same old thing. Just like Grand Theft Auto. WHen was being like one of what is considered one of the best games ever been a bad thing? That said, if you don't like violence or profanity, avoid this game at all costs. It has both in spades. The game is very similar to the whole GTA vibe. Lots of free roaming action, lots of violence to innocent people, lots of what people loved from GTA. YOu can get more details from other reviews. The truth is if you are a churchgoer, avoid this game, it will do nothing to improve your spirituality. If you love GTA you love this game.

This game is better than GTA:SA by a little bit!Unlike the 1st True crime, you can swim and you can go into stores like gun shopes, banks, offices, clubs, the police department and more! Also you can search trunks. You can even eat!!! You can buy cars from dealerships and buy guns from gunshops. And better street crimes are available. You can take subways and taxis around the city too. And you can ride motorcycles too!!!!!!!!!!!! You can also change and buy clothes! Overall this game is way better then TC: Streets of LA and is almost better than the whole GTA series! If you love True crime and enjoy playing GTA, buy this game immediatly.

Honest reviews on True Crime: New York City

I liked the first True Crime a lot so when they announced this game I had high expectations for it. I got it and started to play it and I loved it, I was like YEAH! another True Crime, but then after the first 5 minutes if gameplay it turned into crap. It was kind of like the creators put all there effort into the first five minutes of the game then they were just like "alright lets finish this already." The first five minutes of gameplay are non-stop actionu are in a warehouse killing all these gang members for revenge or something with these two sick Uzi's, BUT THEN a cut-scene happens and all of a sudden alakazam......its crap. After the cutscene you are a cop and it is two years or something into the future and you and your partner are set to go on a mission. You drive there and your partner walks in alone and the whole place explodes. Your cop expectations go down and now oyu must work your way up doing dirty work. Thats basically the whole game, doing dirty work and its not fun at all.

Probably the most fun out of the game is just running around on foot, because the driving is horrible, and arresting random people and showing them your badge and shooting your gun in the air. Everything else sucks. The story-line missions are so boring and pointless. All you do in the story missions are go to this random guy and get told about this bad guy who needs to be in jail but its your job to figure out where he is. So the random guy gives you a list of poeple who might know something about the wanted bad guy. So you go to a warehouse and kill everyone in it and make the person tell you something about the wanted bad guy and then you go to another warehouse and do the same thing about three or four times till you have found enough info on the guy to take him out. Then once you have got that guy the random guy gives you another guy you need to find info about. And thats over and over till the story missions are done, sounds boring...right? Well it is! There are side missions but they suck and are also boring. Like doing missions for your father or taxi missions and racing missions.

The environment is horrible, now i know New York city is awesome and what not, but NYC sucks in a game, like really sucks. First of all the place is so freakin huge that if oyu want to do a mission you have to drive for like five minutes just to get to the person who tells you the mission. Then you have to drive to where the actual mission takes place which is another five minutes. This will keep you from doing the other missions because you will be like....eh i dont want to drive all the way there lets just do this misssion. The car crashing is also horrible. When you crash you most likely do a 180 degree turn, which gets really annoying when you are in a cop chase. Also the place is just boring, its the same looking buildings over and over again and its like never day and ther is always garbage flying across the screen, its like a dump.

OVerall the whole story-line sucks. Basically because there is no specific storyline. The game jst feels like someone regular, normal life, the normal life of a cop. The sound sucks too, especially the cars. When you crash it is the most irritating noise and the cutscene volume is so low while the gameplay volume is super high. So you will turn up the volume while in a cutscene and forget to turn it lower for gameplay and your ears will blow out from the noise. The controls are also bad. Since its like just based on a normal life of a cop you are able to do all the normal things making you use all buttons on the controler. I mean the back button shoot in the air, now when is the back button ever used except for menus. The fighting stile is cool but it kind of gets confusing with all the buttons you have to press.

You are able to do all the same things as the first like badge showing and arresting and fighting moves and shooting in the air. Really the most fun i have in the game is driving at full speed in a car and when someone does that stupid thing, like in all games, where they change lanes and get infront of you to make you crash; so i slam into them from the back and then make them get out of the car and arrest them, because in all other games you can't do anything about it, like GTA.

Overall this game is bad and not what it could have been or should have been. I would not recommend this game to anyone, its just so bad. IF you True Crime fans want to try it be my guest, but you will be surely disappointed. All you other people if you want to rent it just for the first five minutes of the game go ahead. This game is M for Mature: Blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, strong sexual content, use of drugs.

I am not the kind of guy who complains or demands a lot about games and I have always been able to overlook minor glitches as long as the game is fun and keeps me entertained, HOWEVER I must say that I have NEVER EVER had such a terrible experience like I did with this game. In the beginning I was loving the game, great missions and I could literally play it for hours, but then the nightmare started. There is a mission that you have to complete called "Shadow Tong" where you have to push a character off a crate, I found out at least in my case that it is just impossible. After hours and hours of trying to do it and reading walkthroughs that could help me figure out what I was doing wrong, I realized that it wasn't even my fault!!!!!!! It is a glitch that apparently comes only for the XBOX version and tons of people were having the same problem. The result was my total and utter dissapointment, after all, what is the point of starting a game you cannot finish????!!!! I felt ripped off and extremely upset and I decided to warn everybody about this because it is unacceptable. Since then the game is stored in my closet getting dusty, reminding me the HUGE MISTAKE I did throwing my good earned money in the garbage. There are hundreds of great games you could buy, think of the choices and spare yourself the misery of getting this one. So please just research a little bit so you know what I'm talking about and if you do decide to ignore what I have stated here, well don't say I didn't warn you.

P.S. The game freezes ALL the time as well so be prepared for that too if you buy it.

Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightStick Review

Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightStick
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars
Buy Now
Just so everyone knows -these sticks are not Limited Edition or anything of the sort. They are being made according to the limits of production in relation to demand. Madcatz has never stopped making these sticks. This is perhaps the most unbiased review you will read... so listen up.

Oh, and don't bother paying anything more than retail. That's a joke.

Anyways, to the review...

If you pay anything more than $90 for this stick, you will be severely disappointed. Not only will you be required to void the warranty on the controller to prevent the joystick from breaking -but replacing it with a new one will bring the cost up to near 'Tournament Edition (149.99)' prices.

What you are paying for is labor and an arcade stick box -REMEMBER THAT. Quality arcade controllers run from $100 to $200 because of the labor involved, the inner circuitry/wiring, and the cost of the parts. For $80 you are getting a stupidly good deal on a box, controller functionality, and labor. A control pad for any system will run you about $50, so you are only paying $30 for the cost of high quality wiring, additional materials (obviously, the stick is big) and additional labor. It is a fantastic deal.

Here's what you are getting pretty much for free: The joystick and buttons. The parts inside are good for anyone new, but they will not last without your help. I'm talking a month or so max without personal modifications; with the joystick itself lasting you from a day to a few weeks(they are defective, check Madcatz' official site for info. They mention a small amount only, but I can guarantee you will not be risking it with $80 worth of equipment or more). IF YOU CAN FIX IT YOURSELF, AND DON'T FEAR OPENING IT UP AND VOIDING THE WARRANTY -THE PARTS ARE REASONABLE. THE FIX IS EASY.

I have fixed about 20 sticks for people since these have been released all with the same problem (more have brought them in after it was too late to fix). Don't get shafted.

Replacing the parts inside is quick and easy however slightly costly. I don't recommend this unless you are absolutely sure you need to. This controller however, was built and sold for you to replace the parts inside. The craftsmanship and wiring are all 100% newbie friendly. You can know nothing about electronics and replace the parts -all you need is the ability to turn some screws and pull some plugs. At best you will be paying $50 in addition as well as waiting weeks for the stores to restock their parts.

Like I said earlier, remember that you are buying a BOX and LABOR not a reliable Arcade Controller. That means that whatever you tack on above the price of this controller is simply giving it away to the seller, and a Box and Labor are definitely not worth anything more than what the retail on this controller is! The box is beautiful and is designed well. The quality of the wiring and the actual controller functionality for your specific system are fantastic. The actual buttons and joystick are DEFECTIVE!

UPDATE! 2/19/2012:

It has come to my attention that people are still interested in this item! I had thought interest would wane after production stopped for this particular model, but it seems I was wrong. When I wrote this review (very aggressively apparently), it was nearly a week after release and during a resurgence of fighting games. People were buying arcade sticks in such quantities that every brand and type was sold out! If that wasn't bad enough, these controllers were defective outside of the box. A washer malfunction caused the joystick to carve into the PCB (and permanently destroy the circuit) right out the box. The buttons were also prone to sticking. My personal stick suffered from both these problems, and I had to repair these issues for several others. This was a disaster, and I really wanted to stress the fact that what people were purchasing would stop working within a week or so. The silver lining was the fact that the going rate for an arcade stick box, wiring, and control pad to modify were far more expensive than this device! Not to mention the labor involved with the chance of failing. It was a beauty of engineering on the inside, but the inputs were terrible. That isn't the case anymore!

I purchased a PS3 version of this stick almost a year later to gut and make a dual console stick, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that all the problems had been fixed! In fact, the stick felt much better than before. I used it stock for a few weeks off and on, and from what I can tell Madcatz resolved their error. The buttons didn't gain any extra sensitivity, but they are still good for beginners.

Today, the latest version of this stick is the WWE Brawl stick. You shouldn't have any issues with it! I don't prefer the art, but buy in confidence! This stick is still beautifully engineered on the inside for easy upgrading. I would invest in this one rather than a similar priced Hori simply because of the simplicity of the wiring inside Madcatz' product. Hori sticks in this price range have parts soldered into place onto circuit boards, so modifying them takes extra work and materials!

If you're looking for a great arcade stick box to mod this is the thing you need. You don't need to solder anything due to everything being quick disconnects.

But for the regular consumer this product... well at least mine... was a piece of crap.

Defects:

-Joystick sticking to the right due to loose washer

-5 out of the 8 buttons stopped registering more than %50 of the time before my sanwa parts came in

-Screws holding the stick were stripped and the stick fell through the box the first day I recieved it.

For $80 a controller should not do that, no matter what you're buying it for. I was never rough with it or slammed the buttons. I'm a very light tapper and I'm very relaxed on the joystick. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm technically savvy when it comes to arcade sticks this would have been a nightmare purchase for me.

Edit: Raised the rating a bit due to being mod friendly.

I bought this back in April '09, during the craze when arcade sticks were impossible to find. I would have preferred the tournament edition, but this popped up on Amazon and I grabbed it. I've been very happy with it overall. I'll assume most people are looking at this as a controller for Street Fighter or other fighting games. I have played a fairly heavy amount of matches on this stick for the past several months with no difficulties, and I highly recommend it.

I first became interested in switching to a stick because I wanted to start playing charge characters. This is the typical Bison/Blanka/Chun/Guile sort of character whose moves are something like charge back 2 seconds then forward + kick. First and foremost, charge motions just don't work very well on a normal controller's directional pad. Additionally, one of the easiest ways for a newbie to learn charge characters is to sit on a down-back charge quite a bit. This stick has a square gate on it, so that the motion of the stick has four corners along the boundary of the stick's action. This makes it extremely easy to charge down and back at the same time because there's a corner there to tuck into. Advanced players don't rely on the corners in the gate for inputs, because if your reflexes are amazing and precise then you get quicker motion between directional inputs by pushing the stick just far enough to trigger the input. But for a newbie, a square-gated stick is a godsend for learning to play these charge characters. For roll-motion characters like Ryu or Ken, some people may feel more comfortable using the analog stick on a regular xbox controller, or even the d-pad (if you grew up playing SF2 on the Super Nintendo, you can probably manage.) Using a stick for those characters definitely takes practice, and while 90% of the good players use sticks for ALL characters, if you're just dabbling in fighting games and use a fireballin', dragon punchin' character, then you may not want to put in the time to re-learn the game on a stick.

Street Fighter only requires 6 buttons: three punches and three kicks. The 8-button layout on this stick allows you, if you wish, to set some function to the two black buttons on the extreme right which would not be there on an actual arcade cabinet. You could, for example, set them to be all three kicks or all three punches if you had trouble hitting all three at the same time to trigger your ultra combos. In practice, I found that to be awkward. Even though I'm a player who regularly uses shifting hand positions in Rock Band / Guitar Hero, I found it much easier just to hit the buttons simultaneously rather than try to shift or use a pinky to hit the black buttons. I imagine most people will feel the same, and the black buttons will be used in navigating menus (they're the right trigger and right bumber buttons on a normal xbox controller, basically.) For 4-button fighting games like BlazBlue or the 3D games (Soul Caliber, DOA, etc.), you'll probably use the top three white buttons and the left-most white button on the bottom row. I've played several fighting games with this stick and found the button layout to be great for all of them with the right setup.

There's a turbo function you can assign to any button, but no serious player would use it. Not because it's unfair, but rather because your inputs need to be precise in a game like this. It's very easy on a stick to hit the buttons quickly and repeatedly when you need to, so turbo is unnecessary even for things like Blanka's electricity or Chun's lightning legs. And if you're turbo-ing into moves like that then you aren't using the more specific inputs you'd need to combo into them, so you're handicapping yourself anyhow. As far as I'm concerned, turbo isn't really a valuable feature for fighting games played at anything more than a novice level.

The buttons themselves are supposed to be the weak link in this setup, and are reputed to be easily replaced if you wish. The buttons on mine have all held up, and they input just fine.

The stick must be broken in a little. When you first get it, you may notice that after you let the stick return to neutral the character is still moving as if you were inputting a direction for a second or so. After less than an hour of play, this went away.

Sticks take a bit of getting used to, not just in terms of inputting commands but in terms of positioning it comfortably. I've found that I can position the stick okay on my lap for play, but some people may have trouble finding the trick of doing that right. This stick is not nearly as wide and heavy as the tournament edition, so there's a chance you'll find it shifting around on your lap too much and affecting your play. Again, I adapted to this stick pretty well, but you may or may not. Some people play their fighting games standing up with the stick on a stand of some sort, and if you have a setup like that in front of your TV that's great. For me that wasn't viable, but I found this stick manageable anyhow.

You can move a switch to determine whether the stick is controlling the equivalent of the normal controller's d-pad, left analog or right analog stick. This makes no difference in fighting games, but allows you to use the stick for other games where you must control movement with one of those inputs in particular. I tried using it to play Pac-Man Championship Edition and found the control to be a bit clunky. But to be fair, the square gate is not well adapted to Pac-Man (as he doesn't move diagonally) and maybe if you were more practiced with the motions you'd have more success than I did.

Finally, the stick is wired instead of wireless. Wireless has become pretty standard for this generation of video game consoles. But the wire is plenty long for most living room setups, and because the wire uses a USB connector you can actually use it for PC gaming if you were so inclined.

Overall, I rate this product quite highly. It did exactly what I'd hoped it would do: make me better at Street Fighter with charge-attack characters. It has held up for months of heavy play. Obviously there are some people here who had lesser experiences with the stick than I did, but I can only rate what my own experience was, and it's been 100% positive.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightStick

This stick is an excellent choice for anyone looking for the upperhand in Street Fighter IV or any other 2-D style fighting game. The casing is great quality and its size makes it very portable. The standard buttons and joystick are decent quality and are a fine choice to play with.

However, those willing to go the extra mile are apt to find this stick's true potential. While doing so will void the warranty, if you open the stick up you will find that it is very customizable. For mine, I ordered all Sanwa replacement buttons and a Sanwa joystick with an octagonal restrictor plate (the square restrictor late is standard). It is a bit risky to do this kind of thing if you are not familiar with how to do it but it's also quite easy to figure out if you are patient and have a bit of technical savy.

With all the replacement parts, my stick is equal to the Tournament stick in every way accept for the empty area to store my cord. Since that's a feature I don't even use on my Tournament Stick (yes, I have both) it's a moot point.

If you are looking for a stick that will let you compete properly, this stick is a fine choice. If you are looking for a Tournament Stick and can't find one or can't afford one, the customizing options open to you on this stick are a great alternative. I can't recommend it enough!

I bought this during the Black Friday sale thinking that most of their technical issues should have been resolved after this product has been out over a year. No such luck. 3 buttons were unresponsive. Called customer service and apparently it is still a wide spread problem. He advised me to do such soldering which I wasn't comfortable with. The other option was to return it to them, paying my own shipping and waiting 4-6 weeks, which is really terrible. Very disappointed.

Loons, Fight for Fame Reviews

Loons, Fight for Fame

Make sure you see this in person before you spend the bucks to buy it...much more juvenile than even the description leads you to believe. A very "simple" game that is more chaos than anything.

Basically, you run around one screen wacking all of your opponents while listening to Yosemite Sam bark orders in the background. Your goal is not to lose your "star power" by getting wacked by others. You gain "star power" by being the first to run to the location spouted by the director.

The main reason I bought this game was because it sounded like it might be a good multiplayer game (why are most good games single player??); even this falls short there. It is only fun running around the same room for about 10 minutes before you get bored.

This game is simply spectacular in the way of graphics. Never have I seen something so close to an interactive cartoon. It is a pleasure to watch the game. Unfortunately, playing it isnt so great. It is a typical run-around-and-smack-people-over-the-head-with-various-objects-type game. It is too repetitive and predictable for the older audience, and a bit to complex for the younger kids. I would recommend not purchasing this game unless you have rented it and really like it. It might be worth having around the house if you can get it used at a good price, though.

Loons is cartoon fighting in a small space. The characters look good, but watching a Bugs Bunny cartoon is more fun.

Honest reviews on Loons, Fight for Fame

This game stays true to the characters and is great fun for kids (and parents!).

You play on stages at a studio. There is a saloon, a labratory, beach, and more.

Fun ways to nail your opponent, just like the cartoons! Your weapon hanges with the new stage you are on. Some are anvils, huge mallets, pan, axe, bone, electricity, bubble gun, bombs, pumpkin shooter, bee hive, a mini storm, flame thrower.

There are not many games on XBOX that are kid friendly. This one hits the mark!

Here's another Loon-license game. Nice graphics, no overview in multiplayer mode, boring single player mode and difficult character control. I don't know what made me buy that game. If you're a loons fan you may buy it, but don't come banging on my door for your fourty bucks.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Guitar Bundle) (Xbox 360) Review

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Thankfully, Guitar Hero has finally lived up to its name for the first time since Guitar Hero 3. There are 93 new songs, and almost all of them are geared towards guitar. There is still the full band option, but unlike gh5, gh smash hits and gh world tour the priority is a good song for guitar. Warriors of rock has songs by classic bands like aerosmith, bu also has newer ones like linkin park and muse. Also, Activision put on a hard song by dragonforce, which makes the game infinitely more fun. There is about 6-10 hours of gameplay on quest mode, so even if you try to finish as fast as you can it still takes you several days. One small problem with so much gameplay is that you can't actually play the hard songs on quickplay until you have passed them in quest mode, a week after you got the game. But overall the game is very fun to play, and if you haven't bought a guitar hero game since gh3, or even if you are just starting, i would definitely recomend getting the game. But DO NOT get the guitar.

The guitar is the reason why this is a four star review and not a five star one. The guitar works great; it has a fast whammy bar, good strumbar and a slightly smaller neck than other guitars, and it looks much better than others. However, three hours into playing the game, my strum bar, which Activision called a "shredders best friend" completely broke. It neither up strums nor down strums. Useless. Luckily I have an older guitar that still works, and 90 day warranty means I can return the guitar and get another one, but it was still very disappointing. Maybe it was just my guitar that didn't work very well, but if you have another working guitar I would strongly recommend you buy the game alone.

Overall, I would say that the game is second best in the whole guitar hero series; I would recommend it for both hardcore and casual players, but if at all possible do not get the guitar.

This game is really fun and underrated. You may have seen official reviews from certain video game review websites that did not review it properly. I will fist start off with the mistakes this official reviewer from that well known video game website. He says that party play is "buried under a sea of menus" when all you need to do to access party play is to press the yellow button on the guitar at the main menu. He also goes to say that the 5 star paradigm you know and love is gone" which is also untrue. Quest mode will have you shooting for about 7 stars because of the new powers, but in quickplay+ you have the option of playing the traditional way with just earning 5 stars and not using powerups.

Lets start with the gameplay, like i said the game offers a new way of playing with the new powerups, which i find fun and i will list all of them for you

speadfreak: keeps multiplier at 2x and you earn extra stars for keeping it over 3x

crowd hyper: earn extra stars for hitting notes while the rock meter is full

star power generator: earn 5% star power for every 10 notes hit

star power amplifier: earn 2x the normal amount for hitting star power phrases

mulitplier extender: earn up to 5x multiplier instead of 4

steak guardian: protects you from breaking your streak for 1 note and earn extra stars for long streaks

Resurrection: earn up to 2 ankhs for playing well and each ankh you earn will protect you from failing

star power nova: earn 3x for star power instead of 2x.

People may not want to play this way, so in quickplay+ you can play the traditional way where you can earn up to 5 stars.

The guitar has a nice design and an improvement over the previous guitar hero guitars. But it is not perfect. The strummer squeaks which can get annoying, plus sometimes the guitar will have a period of time where it will drop notes, but not as bad as the les paul guitar. But all other previous problems have gone away, the whammy bar stays in place and feels very smooth, the star power tilt detection is fixed, previous guitar hero guitars had a problem with star power going off on its own.

Now the problem with the setlist i have is that it has some good artists, but they pick mediocre songs by them. I feel like instead of having bleed it out, they should have had "in the end" by linkin park. instead of burnin for you, they should have had dont fear the reaper by the blue oyster cult.

Best Deals for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Guitar Bundle) (Xbox 360)

I pre-ordered the guitar bundle version and although the first guitar only lasted about an hour before the strum bar started to malfunction, the replacement has worked great and we've already gotten several hours of play out of it. One annoying thing is that you can't start the xbox console from the guitar like you can with other GH and Rockband Guitars. Our experience is that the GH guitars don't hold up well (we have accumulated an assortment of 5 different GH and RB2 guitars in varying states of functionality). Songs on the game are good, and playing for the extra bonus stars makes it more fun.

Honest reviews on Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Guitar Bundle) (Xbox 360)

I surprised my hubby with one of the new, slim PS3's for Christmas and needless to say, he was ecstatic! When I gave him the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Guitar Bundle, he literally jumped for joy. He's been a Guitar Hero fan since before we started dating and I remember standing in line one year to pick up the game at midnight. It felt great to be able to make his day like that. I enjoy the Guitar Hero games but not nearly as much as he does. His favorite part of Warriors of Rock is the quest. Watching the characters transform is amazing! The song choices in this game are perfect. I was really excited to play these songs:

Aerosmith "Cryin'"

Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar On Me"

Drowning Pool "Bodies"

Flyleaf "Again"

Linkin Park "Bleed It Out"

Muse "Uprising"

Nickelback "How You Remind Me"

R.E.M. "Losing My Religion"

This is my favorite Guitar Hero game so far! I think the hubby would agree.

okay so places like ign are bashing this game. not because of the quality of the game but because guitar hero has flooded the market since release. so they are unjustly judging this game.

this IS the best guitar hero to date. the difficulty is higher but still accessible by new players, the tracklist is FAR better than ever before, and like gh5 before it, warriors of rock can copy the tracks from world tour and gh 5 if you own a copy (must be 360 version of the game)

the guitar is far more responsive than previously. there is no touchpad but the build feels more sturdy. the body style is different than before. rather than a 2 piece guitar its a 4 piece.

the graphic are improved and the customization system is better as well. and the story mode has an actual story and its a lot more fun than in the past
