EA Sports Cricket 2002 (PC) is a good game for all Cricket Enthusiast, though it didn't live upto my expectation of having mouse as an additional control function besides using keyboard for batting and bowling. The game works well with Windows 7 Home Premium Platform. It would be great to know, if someone could sell any Cricket PC Game with mouse control function for batting and bowling. It's simply because it's a lot easier to bat and bowl using mouse than keyboard.CRICKET 2002 (EA SPORTS)

Review of 1080 Snowboarding

1080 Snowboarding
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Once you get the hang of the controls, this game is awesome... it's challenging and entertaining, and everyone should have one.

This game has amazing graphics-you can even see the snow spray off the board when you make the slightest turn. Plus, the camera controls are flawless. The sound track is pretty good, tooyou can hear the snowboard scraping and the snowboarders sometimes talk, and the techo tracks that accompany the races are pretty cool too.

My only complaint is that there aren't enough courses. After I unlocked the 6 courses and beat the "Black Diamond" level, there wasn't much else to do. But even after you've unlocked all the courses, it's still fun to play against your friends in the 2 Person VS mode, or doing tricks in the half pipe.

I think that anyone who has a N64 should add this game to their collection, without a doubt... it's a solid game, and you won't regret it.

When I was contemplating buying this item I had two main questions on my mind:

1. Would upgrading from the basic five-button RB guitar to this Pro Guitar be worth the significant price tag?

2. If I owned this would I be able to learn how to play guitar from RB3?

Short Answers:

1. Yes

2. Mostly

Long Answers:

1. Like everyone else who ever played guitar/bass on Rock Bandbefore this came out, I have always played with the basic five-button strum bar controller. I most always had fun playing with this controller, occaisonally I would lose myself in the music, and feel like I was actually making the music with an instrument. However, the basic controller always has an arcade game vibe to it and this would sometimes deminish the experience.

The new Pro Guitar controller definitely takes the Rock Band experience to a whole new level. MadCatz did an excellent job designing the guitar and Harmonix did an excellent job integtrating it seamlessly into gameplay. When you first pick it up, it looks pretty intimidating (which is not suprising, as you've probably just moved from 5 buttons to 6x17 = 102 buttons), but the RB3 Pro Guitar tutorials will get you up and running really quickly. The notation is simple enough though it can be hard to figure as the notes and chords are coming towards you on the screen, and navigating the thing can be difficult these things honestly take some getting used to but if you are thinking about purchasing this item, you are probably up for the challenge. And the payoff is fantastic. Many songs are ridiculously fun on the Pro Guitar. Sometimes it can be really hard to put down because as you get better, the game only gets more fun and more intense, and it is not that hard to get better. What you ultimately get is something that takes time to get acclimated to, but gives you what has to be the most fun and rewarding experience in the rhythm game market.

The best thing Harmonix did with regard to the Pro Guitar is probably the "Learn a Song" mode. You can always jump right in to Quickplay mode, but if you want to get good at a song fast, Learn a Song is the way to go. This mode breaks down the song into the various riffs and progressions you need to know to play the song well. So you pick a difficulty, the game shows you the parts you need to know, you practice them (and the game will give you help if you are having trouble with a certain note/chord you can also start out at a slower speed and work up to full speed, like in the older games), and then you are ready to shred the song in Quickplay or Career Mode.

The only downside I can think of is the barrier to entry. This thing takes practice much more practice than the basic controller does. Rock Band is meant to be a party game, and this controller necessarily takes a little party out of the game. The cost of having a more serious peripheral, is... well, you have to be a little more serious about it. So more trips to practice mode; harder to just pick up and play. Friends will be intrigued by the new Rock Band item, but it won't be the hit of the party. The angle for this item is that people practice and get good at it on their own, which clashes with the party game philosophy and may be a turn-off for some.

2. I have never seriously picked up a real guitar, and to the length that you can trust someone who isn't really a guitarist, this will give a beginner the tools they need to play guitar. You learn several components of guitar playing: the terminology, fingering, strumming, notes, chords, arpeggios. And once you work up to it, expert mode is, according to Harmonix, "every note and every chord in a song" (Ref: From what I gather there are a few rare exceptions, done so you could play all the songs on the game on this controller which is a bit smaller than an actual guitar, but I don't think that should discourage anyone.

The reason I say "Mostly" and not "Yes", is that you won't learn tuning the guitar doesn't need to be tuned. The feel is still different; you are after all pushing buttons and not holding strings. You can't do everything on this that you can on a real guitar, bending strings is an example. So what you will end up with is many of the tools you need to play the real guitar, but you won't be a guitar virtuoso the second you put this controller down and switch to an actual stringed guitar.

Overall a fantastic experience, I definitely recommend it highly.

My wife and I love it. Simple as that. And it shipped Amazon-fast overnight! For the price difference, I wouldn't consider the step down to non-pro unless you're just ordering it for a kid who doesn't care (no kids here). But even then... I think the training portion of Rock Band 3 alone makes the extra $$$ worth spending on this pro version just in case they might take to learning a few chords and graduate to a real starter guitar (not at all inconceivable). My friend who plays a little was really impressed by its training value, and even took out his real guitar to play along with songs so I could see and hear the difference and appreciate what I was learning while playing a game.

Pros: You can actually learn to play guitar. Really. Chords and all.

Cons: You can actually build-up calluses on your fingers if you press too hard and play too long.

Conclusion: If you really just want the 5-button game, then reconsider. If you want something you can take to the next level after playing classic RB, then go pro.

I only saw 2 reviews when we purchased, so I hope this helps...

I'm an accomplished guitar player, and one thing I noticed right away with this guitar is that I sometimes cannot tell which string I am fingering or which string I am picking because there is no string vibration to provide "navigational cues" and all the buttons and "strings" are the same width. Maybe they could make the strings and buttons different widths, like the strings on a real guitar.

Honest reviews on Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Wii

I had this bad boy on pre-order since Aug 27th and it got delayed twice but it is now in my hands. Was it worth the wait? Yes!! I am a medium level Rock Band 3 and a Medium-Low level Guitar Hero Player. I wanted to step it up and this was the way to go. The cons... Does not appear to work with Guitar Hero games. The Frets are spaced father apart than my old Guitar. Because of this you have to re-learn how to play a bit. The pros. It feels good and plays well. Also the biggest plus is that I am now really learning the Electric guitar (in Pro Mode). Someday I will get a real guitar but for now this Axe fits the bill real fine.

The PRO guitar met all expectations.

It's easy to assemble and disassemble: the neck is composed of two parts which connects to the guitar body through a solid, good-looking connector.

The strings were not to tight and looks like it's not easy to snap them.

The neck buttons do an excelent work when it comes to simulate the strings: it takes a while to get used to it, but when you do, it feels and works great.

Practicing some riffs in a real electric guitar was no shock after 2 hours of continuous play, which surprised me.

Cons:

-The frets could be a little higher, or the buttons a little lower.

-It's also a little too pricy, since my electric guitar's starter kit's price was very close to the price of this controller.

It ships with a guitar strap, stamped with "rockband" logo, two fender picks (one white, other black), wireless connector and batteries.

The wireless connector provides two USB ports.

I couldn't test the MIDI capabilities yet.

5 stars for fun, 4 overall just because the price.

I dont even play computer games but the novel intrigued me in its presentation and book cover. Now, I have heard of this game and its new system coming out and I have tried a few game/novels out and have not been impressed UNTIL NOW! Eric Nylund's writing is great and I already have two other books from him since I read this novel. Mr. Nylund's story telling and bigger than life characters in this book make it clearly above and beyond just a game book. The story starts out with a woman named Dr. Halsey who is creating a super soldier for the future war that is coming in the guise of an alien race that seems unstoppable and unknown to earthlings in any way shape or form. Dr. Halsey and her accomplice Jacob Keyes take a dozen children from orphanages and make them into super beings thru endless surgeries, drugs, and a battle school that is far superior and secret than normal military. The leader, and main character comes from a boy/man they call number 117, or John. John is not the strongest or the fastest, but he has the mind of a leader. The reader then goes on a journey thru these poor kid's boot camp and watch them fail as well as conquer their own fears and others prejudice. This insight and character development, mixed with great action sequences is what saves this novel from being just another fast written game book for the boys. The author's writing style is made for this type of novel and it shows in every space battle as well as groundside wars as well. This novel goes thru about 25 years or so, so you get to follow the kid's growth, as well as some of the other normal humans rise and falls thru the years. The aliens are introduced slowly and revealed for who and what they are in a way that keeps the reader wanting to read more to find out very smart! If you love military space opera with lots of great action with lots of great characters written in then you will find that this is not just another game novel I can't wait for the new book!

The Fall of Reach is a prequel telling the story of humanity's war against a technologically superior race called the Covenant, a mysterious race on a religious crusade to destroy humanity. The story focuses on the hero of the Halo Xbox game and his fellow Spartans, enhanced human beings bred as soldiers for humanity's military and the best chance the humans have for victory in the losing war against the Covenant. The events in the book directly lead into the events in the game.

Even without playing the game, it's a pretty good book by itself. The sci-fi universe created by Bungie (the makers of the game) which Nylund expands on is detailed and believable. Nylund's descriptions of space battles and futuristic militaries are excellent, as well as his portrayals of the human military strategy and tactics while fighting against a superior enemy. The book flows well and is an easy read.

But the book is raised to a new level if you play the game alongside reading the novel. Nylund's otherwise average character development and background instead become outstanding insight into the life of the game's hero and opens your eyes to the bigger picture of the Halo universe. You become truly immersed, which makes both the book reading and video game experience that much more rich.

Sci-fi nitpickers will criticize some of the technological aspects of the Halo universe (for example, it is 500 years in the future where humans have mastered faster-than-light travel and true artificial intelligence, yet soldiers and ships still use solid ammo as their primary weapons), but those issues are minor. Nylund is still able to suspend disbelief. And it doesn't hinder the overall good story.

Overall, good book by itself. But I recommend you play the game as well. If you enjoy the game, then this novel is a must read! I can't wait until the sequel for both!

Best Deals for The Fall of Reach (Halo, Bk. 1) Mass Market Paperback

As many people have said, most books of this type (based on a game) seem to be quickly written and rather unexciting. This book is the exception to the rule. I was rather apprehensive going into this book but found myself hooked very quickly. From the training of the new breed of 'supersoldiers' to the fantastic space and ground battles this book never slows down. The characters are wonderfully well developed, the action is intense and exciting (loved the battle for Sigma Octanus), and the book as a whole is perfectly paced (you'll never say 'it was good, but slowed down a bit in the middle'). If you are planning on playing the game (I'm halfway through it myself) this book is a must read. Even if you don't plan on playing Halo but are a fan of military sci-fi action this book will satisfy. I will also be seeking out Nylunds other novels.

Honest reviews on The Fall of Reach (Halo, Bk. 1) Mass Market Paperback

Written as a prequel to the upcoming Xbox game, Halo, you couldn't ask for a better source of background and timeline information with this book. The book borrows heavily from information known about the game, but everything is a completely original story. For example, the same enemy types that appear in Halo are frequently mentioned in the book, which gives a more profound sense of "constant struggle" between the human race and the deadly and ruthless alien species known as the Covenant. I feel this will really make the game an even more immersive experience; by reading this book, you're getting to know a lot of information that you otherwise wouldn't know while playing the game. Caught on a plotline twist or snag? Maybe if you read the book you would understand it a bit more.

The book itself is very well written, and it keeps you immersed in the story page-to-page. The only thing I can really criticize is the fact that some action sequences can get a little repetitive and drawn-out (such as space battles between the humans and the Covenant). It's not enough to make you want to stop reading, though.

I got this book Friday (Nov. 2nd), and finished it Sunday night (Nov. 4th), and it's well over 300 pages. That's how good it is. Of course, you may not be quite as interested in the story if you're not anticipating the game but if you are, this is a definite must-read. I'd suggest to anyone who is looking for the best Halo experience on Xbox come Nov. 15th, get this book as soon as possible, and read the entire thing through before starting the game. I doubt a whole lot from the book will leak into the game, but you never know.

The Fall of Reach tells the origin story of Master Chief Spartan 117. This version is a re-print which takes the original version, supposedly corrects some of the mistakes and adds new content.

If, like me, you already have the original version and are wondering if it's worth buying this as well ... I am undecided.

I have read the original about 5 or 6 times, have the rest of the books in the Halo series too, I've played all the games on X-Box and X-Box 360 and am a HUGE Halo fan. When I heard this was being re-released with corrections and new content, I was hoping it would be re-written so that it would fall in line with the story told by the game, Halo Reach. Sadly, it does not. There are some glaring discrepancies between the two story lines which could so easily have been corrected (I'll put them at the end of the review just in case you would/would not like to know what they are).

Furthermore, the new version still contains errors (i.e. it seems like they have run a spell check but did not proof read the book so, while there are no spelling mistakes, you come across the odd word that is out of place ... but at least you can guess what the word is supposed to be).

I am undecided about the new content. It is basically a series of random excerpts, letters, memos, etc stuck on at the end of the book. I have only read them once, and while some of them feel like they tie in with other parts of the Halo storyline, I cannot pinpoint how or where. There are also a few pictures dotted about the book too.

If you are new to Halo, or have never read the books before, I cannot recommend the series enough. The Fall of Reach, together with Contact Harvest are my personal favourites. The Flood is also a good read as it closely follows the events from the first Halo game (Halo: Combat Evolved). If you have not read or do not own the original version of Fall of Reach, this is the version for you as, I guess, it is the most complete version. If you have already read or own the original version then hopefully what I have written above can help you decide whether or not to get this version too.

****** SPOILER ALERT ******

There are a few discrepancies I noticed between the book Fall of Reach and the game Halo Reach. They are as follows:

* The Pillar of Autumn In the book, The Pillar of Autumn is constructed in space dock and this is where Captain Keyes first enters it. In the game, the Autumn is planetside.

* Cortana In the book, Cortana is already on board the Autumn whereas in the game, Noble 6 brings Cortana to Captain Keyes, who then flies her to the Autumn.

* The Spartans In the book, all bar one of the remaining Spartans (it says in the book that one of them was unable to be recalled due to the mission they were on at the time ... I think this could either be Jorge, who is part of the Halo Reach storyline ... or Kurt as he is off on the Spartan 3 program ... read "Ghosts of Onyx") come aboard the Autumn before going off on their respective missions. In the game, there is no mention of these Spartans ... apart from...

* Spartan in stasis??? On one of the final cutscenes of the game (where Captain Keyes' pelican boards the Autumn), you can pan the screen to the right and you'll get a glimpse of a Spartan in a stasis chamber. Now, I guess this is supposed to be Master Chief. If it is, this does not appear to tie in with the book as, per the book, the Chief does not go into stasis until after his mission to detroy a NAV database, which takes place after the Autumn first launches.

I have a thoery ... a very thin theory ... so thin it's anorexic ... but ... could it be that the Autumn does originally start off in space dock with all Spartans and they go off on their respective missions. Then, somehow, after picking up the Master Chief and Linda (which could mean the Spartan in stasis is Linda), the Autumn has to go planetside so that Cortana can be uploaded with some vital information that is too risky to be transmitted in case the Covenant intercept it. Cortana gets taken to Dr Halsey who uploads the information to her, gives her to Noble 6 who then returns Cortana to Captain Keyes. The Autumn then takes off and does a slipspace jump to Halo.

The way the book was written, the above does not seem possible ... but at least it would help bring some continuity back.

The game was fun and enjoyable but my sons (6&8)finished it within a day. On the plus side they had a great time doing it and continue to play it again and again and have played the mini games as well. So, I think it was worth the money I paid for it.

My only other comment is not to get excited about the graphics. For the most part they remain nick cartoon standard, but certian sequences are meant to look like paper cutouts and look like exactly that.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Guitar Bundle) (Xbox 360) Review

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
Thankfully, Guitar Hero has finally lived up to its name for the first time since Guitar Hero 3. There are 93 new songs, and almost all of them are geared towards guitar. There is still the full band option, but unlike gh5, gh smash hits and gh world tour the priority is a good song for guitar. Warriors of rock has songs by classic bands like aerosmith, bu also has newer ones like linkin park and muse. Also, Activision put on a hard song by dragonforce, which makes the game infinitely more fun. There is about 6-10 hours of gameplay on quest mode, so even if you try to finish as fast as you can it still takes you several days. One small problem with so much gameplay is that you can't actually play the hard songs on quickplay until you have passed them in quest mode, a week after you got the game. But overall the game is very fun to play, and if you haven't bought a guitar hero game since gh3, or even if you are just starting, i would definitely recomend getting the game. But DO NOT get the guitar.

The guitar is the reason why this is a four star review and not a five star one. The guitar works great; it has a fast whammy bar, good strumbar and a slightly smaller neck than other guitars, and it looks much better than others. However, three hours into playing the game, my strum bar, which Activision called a "shredders best friend" completely broke. It neither up strums nor down strums. Useless. Luckily I have an older guitar that still works, and 90 day warranty means I can return the guitar and get another one, but it was still very disappointing. Maybe it was just my guitar that didn't work very well, but if you have another working guitar I would strongly recommend you buy the game alone.

Overall, I would say that the game is second best in the whole guitar hero series; I would recommend it for both hardcore and casual players, but if at all possible do not get the guitar.

This game is really fun and underrated. You may have seen official reviews from certain video game review websites that did not review it properly. I will fist start off with the mistakes this official reviewer from that well known video game website. He says that party play is "buried under a sea of menus" when all you need to do to access party play is to press the yellow button on the guitar at the main menu. He also goes to say that the 5 star paradigm you know and love is gone" which is also untrue. Quest mode will have you shooting for about 7 stars because of the new powers, but in quickplay+ you have the option of playing the traditional way with just earning 5 stars and not using powerups.

Lets start with the gameplay, like i said the game offers a new way of playing with the new powerups, which i find fun and i will list all of them for you

speadfreak: keeps multiplier at 2x and you earn extra stars for keeping it over 3x

crowd hyper: earn extra stars for hitting notes while the rock meter is full

star power generator: earn 5% star power for every 10 notes hit

star power amplifier: earn 2x the normal amount for hitting star power phrases

mulitplier extender: earn up to 5x multiplier instead of 4

steak guardian: protects you from breaking your streak for 1 note and earn extra stars for long streaks

Resurrection: earn up to 2 ankhs for playing well and each ankh you earn will protect you from failing

star power nova: earn 3x for star power instead of 2x.

People may not want to play this way, so in quickplay+ you can play the traditional way where you can earn up to 5 stars.

The guitar has a nice design and an improvement over the previous guitar hero guitars. But it is not perfect. The strummer squeaks which can get annoying, plus sometimes the guitar will have a period of time where it will drop notes, but not as bad as the les paul guitar. But all other previous problems have gone away, the whammy bar stays in place and feels very smooth, the star power tilt detection is fixed, previous guitar hero guitars had a problem with star power going off on its own.

Now the problem with the setlist i have is that it has some good artists, but they pick mediocre songs by them. I feel like instead of having bleed it out, they should have had "in the end" by linkin park. instead of burnin for you, they should have had dont fear the reaper by the blue oyster cult.

Best Deals for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Guitar Bundle) (Xbox 360)

I pre-ordered the guitar bundle version and although the first guitar only lasted about an hour before the strum bar started to malfunction, the replacement has worked great and we've already gotten several hours of play out of it. One annoying thing is that you can't start the xbox console from the guitar like you can with other GH and Rockband Guitars. Our experience is that the GH guitars don't hold up well (we have accumulated an assortment of 5 different GH and RB2 guitars in varying states of functionality). Songs on the game are good, and playing for the extra bonus stars makes it more fun.

Honest reviews on Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Guitar Bundle) (Xbox 360)

I surprised my hubby with one of the new, slim PS3's for Christmas and needless to say, he was ecstatic! When I gave him the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Guitar Bundle, he literally jumped for joy. He's been a Guitar Hero fan since before we started dating and I remember standing in line one year to pick up the game at midnight. It felt great to be able to make his day like that. I enjoy the Guitar Hero games but not nearly as much as he does. His favorite part of Warriors of Rock is the quest. Watching the characters transform is amazing! The song choices in this game are perfect. I was really excited to play these songs:

Aerosmith "Cryin'"

Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar On Me"

Drowning Pool "Bodies"

Flyleaf "Again"

Linkin Park "Bleed It Out"

Muse "Uprising"

Nickelback "How You Remind Me"

R.E.M. "Losing My Religion"

This is my favorite Guitar Hero game so far! I think the hubby would agree.

okay so places like ign are bashing this game. not because of the quality of the game but because guitar hero has flooded the market since release. so they are unjustly judging this game.

this IS the best guitar hero to date. the difficulty is higher but still accessible by new players, the tracklist is FAR better than ever before, and like gh5 before it, warriors of rock can copy the tracks from world tour and gh 5 if you own a copy (must be 360 version of the game)

the guitar is far more responsive than previously. there is no touchpad but the build feels more sturdy. the body style is different than before. rather than a 2 piece guitar its a 4 piece.

the graphic are improved and the customization system is better as well. and the story mode has an actual story and its a lot more fun than in the past

This review is from the perspective of a player who is not a hardcore collector of the figures who must collect them all.

Basically all a lightcore has to offer is the following:

1. New Pose

2. Lightcore effect(it lights up on the Portal)

3. Has the light glow in game where the light is on the figure(Giants only not first game).

4. An in game AoE screen clearing attack upon entry when placed on the Portal(usable once per level, I heard it does 100 dmg per enemy but I'm uncertain I'll have to test it out).

5. Cost $2+ more than the non-lightcore versions.

This is basically the same in game Drobot as the S1 version except it has a tiny light on his back that is quite disappointing, and he has a screen clearing lightcore effect that can be used once per stage. The only way you can see the single light on his back is if you face it backwards on the POP. The could have done so much more with this lightcore like at least make his eye's light up but they did not. There are video's on youtube that show how disappointing the light up effect is on Drobot.

There is no Wow-pow and no switchable paths on the Lightcores. This is not a problem for the new characters: Jet Vac, Chill, Pop Fizz, and Shroom Boom, but for the characters from the original Skylanders who also have S2 versions with wow-pows it makes this lightcore only desirable for the collector or someone who really loves Drobot. Had I known the light on the Drobot lightcore was so disappointing I would have skipped him for the S2 version.

Also the packaging is misleading..the lightcore reposes: Drobot, Hex, Prism Break, and Eruptor all work on the original game the same as the S1 versions. It's the newer lightcores to Giants that do not work on the first game.

This adapter was exactly what I needed in order to convert the hdmi cable that was included with the hdmi to analog converter box that I purchased for my older analog projection tv. The only digital input on my old set was a DVI input. This adapter allowed the converter box to provide a full 1080i digital picture to my television set. Well worth the money. I'd highly recommend this adapter to anyone with a similar problem.

I didn't know what to expect with this game mostly because at the price you would think of it as a budget title. But I was pleasantly surprised once I started playing it. It is a very well done game that teaches you survival skills while you play, and is all voiced over by Bear which is great. From the screenshots I thought that it was going to be an "on rails" game with the orbs, but its really a fairly open game that allows you to explore to find things to eat, water sources, and other cool survival experiences. If you love Bear or Man vs Wild, at this price point you can't go wrong.

When the game was released at $29.99, honestly I was disappointed and did not expect much. After playing the game I realize it is a fantastic game for a release price of 30 bucks. As any cheap game it will have many quirks that are unavoidable and frustrating (especially the final scene). The thing that suprised me was how entertaining the game actually was to me personally. I have been a fan of the show and for the majority population, that is who would actually enjoy it. But it wasn't meant to compete with the Modern Warfares of the world so I'll break it down in a pros and cons list:

Pros:

-Enjoyable to any fan.

-A very good change up for people wanting something different.

-Bear actually narrorates the game.

-A good variety of levels keeps you entertained.

-Simple controls for players of any level.

Cons:

-The graphics/gameplay arent up to par with modern games but that was to be expected.

-No multiplayer obviously, which isnt really a con, its just not do-able.

-The quirks of a cheap game may get to you after a while as far as button pushing (hit a,a,a,b,c) goes and the general mechanics that makes you accidently fall to the bottom of the cliff for no reason.

Result:

A good game in my opinion if you like the show and do not mind simple graphics and rough gameplay to bother you that much. It is a breath of fresh air compared to the everyday shoot em up games that flood the market. It's not a big risk at $30 (release price) to try it and I would assume unless you are particular about the mechanics of a game you would probably get enjoyment out of it. Quick playtime through is 4-5 hours if you rush it and 10-12 if you take your time and enjoy it.

I bought this game a week ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it but not for the same reasons you would enjoy a video game made by a heavy hitting game company, such as Valve. The game is very easy to pick up and start playing although I caution gamers who don't play for achievements or play to 100% the game since the majority of the game is just finding hidden items scattered through the game and then a bit of surviving. The look and feel of the game is reminiscent of N64 games with it's awkward controls and jarring texture rendering. If you're looking for a game to spend a weekend break from you're well made FPS's and RPG's with a poorly made game filled with bad ideas for laughs this is the game for you.

It may seem like I'm saying this game sucks and isn't worth your $30, but I'm not. If you are a fan of the show you will recognize most of the humor in this game. I've seen many ask if you can drink your own pee in the game and the answer is yes there is a special animation for both peeing into a snake skin and a separate animation for him drinking his own urine, which is probably the funniest hidden gem in this game. The game play has a few problems due to the game structure contradicts what Bear says in-game because of the way the game judges how well you are surviving, the game does this via a HUD bar that indicates in blue how hydrated you are an orange bar indicating your energy and next to your energy is a green bar which indicates your health, but if you remain hydrated throughout the campaign you will have no need to stop and collect food because your energy bar doesn't start to wear down until you're dehydrated and your health doesn't go down until you run out of energy making the sayings Bear says through the game like "eat little and often" pointless because you only have to eat if you run out of water. Other things he says that get contradicted are drink you're water in small amounts over time but if your hydration is almost gone and you have a full canteen you can drink the whole canteen of water without any penalties for doing so the same also goes for food and energy. And due to this system there really is no reason to kill animals in the game other than snakes so you can drink your own pee.

What makes the game challenging is there's a lot of jumping and climbing in the game where you're often expected to go from jumping on platforms to balancing across a natural bridge like a log or really thin rock and the game has a hard time shifting between actions that require you to press a button and ones that you walk up to which causes you to fall off cliffs and injure yourself. The things that also make up the game are several mini-games which give you an opportunity to earn food by hunting, setting traps, fishing, and grabbing grub worms and centipedes. The majority of these mini-games are based around timing and specific button combos in the order they appear before the timer runs out. What really makes this game funny though is in how ludicrous some of the situations are like being dropped into shark infested water when you can see the sharks from the helicopter, running into a Grizzly Bear in the Rockies with a personal vendetta for you, running into three oasis' in the Sahara, as well as making a raft that for some reason attracts sharks and causes them to bite your paddle relentlessly until you paddle faster.

So if your going for a game with a cinematic experience this game is not for you. If you are looking for a lot of realistic action this game is not for you. If you want an intuitive interface that accurately represents survival this game is not for you. But if you have $30 to blow, are a fan of Man vs. Wild, in need of hours of good laughs and an easy 1000gs this game is for you.

Honest reviews on Man vs. Wild - Xbox 360

8/10 Don't buy this game if you want too use a gun. Knives only. The patigonia is the most dissapointing level in the game. The rest were pretty good. There is some other bad stuff about the game. Why didn't they make it so there are no objectives. That's all I can say. I'll talk to you on my next review.

I ordered this for the PC (directly from the UK) but nothing changed between the PC or Xbox version. The graphics are awsome, music and sound are nothing short of amazing. I call this an "Unlocked" type flight game sine you are actually able to fly stright up and flip over in a loop and barrel roll. The music is queued up like a movie, so, for example, when your in Bitterfield (supposedly what became of Russia cus everythings in russian) its dark and suspenseful, but when you turn the corner and have a dozen sentry guns firing on you it cuts in a great guitar solo. If you judge a game purely by how big it is, the stats are:

Game data: 1.50 Gb

Music: 2.06 Gb

Videos: 1.71 Gb

Bottom line: THQ really put alot of effort into this game, really simplified it is a fight of free market Proteus (english) vs militarism DST (german) with the FTZ (nutral) caught in the middle.

Graphics: 10/10

Music:10/10

Sound:10/10

Gameplay:10/10

Replay Value: 15/10

Overall: 10+

Yager is fun and satisfying. Fans of the Star Wars: Rouge Squadron games will be especially pleased with the gameplay because it is almost exactly the same. Graphically, it holds up, even compared to some Xbox 360 games. It would be nice if more games today had such interesting stories.

The similarities with Crimson Sky are due to the fact that both are flying games and both are in the steampunk genre, but that is where the similarities end. Crimson Sky was designed for multiplayer gaming, and Yager is a better 1-player game.

Best Deals for Yager

Yager is a game that stands on its own in terms of originality and game play. The graphics are stunning even on modern HD TV's and the story line so interesting and mysterious. This game will have you come back over and over to replay levels and relive moments. You are a free lancer basically a hired gun for protecting shipping traffic up and down the coast of Proteus. You didn't really think that the end did you? In this futuristic world of star ships the bad guys have a good black market going. Defend the base against pirate attacks, journey into new areas of Proteus and help Hillbilly's steal pirate goods, have some friendly target practice with a Jamaican and a Bartender, and destroy waves of robots in the abandoned town of Bitterfeld to get Vodka for some Russians. This doesn't even begin to cover what this game offers. This is and always will be one of my favorite games and I hope you will feel the same way. Game includes spoken in game dialogue as English and German, if you XBOX language setting is on the English language it will automatically run the English script. This is an original XBOX game and will NOT play on XBOX 360. This great game is also available on PC.

This is by far the best truck driving experience you d get behind a screen. The whole simulator is very realistic and accurate, including the distinctive down shift squeak that trucks sometimes make on the highway.

I used my keyboard and PS3 control. What a mistake! It was almost impossible to "drive" and configure 35 buttons! The lanes are NARROW and I could not stay within my lane at all! I didn't get far, but the scenery was boring. Trees and exit signs. Like driving on a highway. Also, I could not go fast at all. It felt like 15-20 miles per hour. Unbelievable...

Too bad cause this game looks cute, but you 100% need a wheel (and if you're lucky) maybe that will help. I don't know since the lanes are so narrow!
