I've been watching The Price Is Right for over 25 years now, and was pleasantly surprised when I found out there was finally going to be a video game adaptation coming out. This game does not disappoint at all, however there are a few things I think could be improved upon.

As other reviews have stated, this game is extremely easy to play and fun for almost everyone. For years I'd sit there and rip apart dumb bidders on the show. Well now I'M the dumb bidder. It's hilarious how I really don't know how much anything costs. The realism of contestant's row is great. I bid $290 on something, and the old lady character next to me went and bid $291 and won just like the show! You're bidding on REAL name brand items. An actual video from a Price Is Right episode plays and you hear the description pretty much as it aired on the show. It's really great. My only complaint here is that the picture for this is pretty small and sometimes you can't really make out what the item looks like.

The pricing games that I've played so far have been a blast. One glitch I noticed on Cliffhangers though, the item I was guessing the price on was Citrical, however the text description of it said it was Ragu spaghetti sauce. Another very minor gripe I have with the pricing games so far is that many times the prize is just some amount of cash, whereas on the actual show, the prize is usually a car or furniture or something else. Does this make the game less fun? Absolutely not. Also, sometimes the descriptions are a little vague, and you can't form a good guess on the price. One example is that they showed a package of Chips Ahoy cookies but didn't say the size of the package. I guessed $2.50 but it turned out to be a snack size and the retail price was 50 cents. Unlike the show, you can't ask questions about the items to get a better description. I ended up losing that game because of it. Once again, not the end of the world.

The classic TPIR moments that you can unlock by winning these games are awesome, however, some of them are sponsored! That's right, I had to sit through a commercial for the 2009 Toyota Corolla before watching a highlight! So far over several games not one pricing game or item has repeated.

As far as graphics go, the TPIR video is great, the game graphics are pretty lame. The audience consists of about four people wearing four different colored shirts, just repeated over and over. You only have a choice of about eight different characters. Their animations and expressions are very limited and cheezy, even for the Wii.

The sound is great. You get it all here, it's the same music and sounds that have been used since the old days. My all time favorite, the loser horn is used quite often, much to my delight.

I have a feeling this is going to be quite a successful Wii title without much fanfare. For $39.99, pardon the pun, the price is right and the game is well worth it. I'd love to see a sequel to this, since there are still a ton of pricing games that they can use.

If you're looking for a game that will get your party going, or something just to have fun with, then The Price is Right for the Wii may be just what you're looking for. Being the game show enthusiast that I am, I was delighted to hear that this timeless classic was finally making its video game debut; and it does not disappoint!

While it is not aimed at hard-core gamers, it certainly does its job with providing endless hours of fun. I feel it did a very good job recreating the feel of the actual game show. While I was a bit disappointed with the absence of both Bob Barker and Drew Carey, Rich Fields is a great, and sometimes even exciting, host. Up to four players can participate at a time, or you can just wing it solo. Either way, you're guaranteed to have a good time. :)

Controls are very user friendly, making it easy for anyone of any age to play, even if they've never picked up a video game in their life. The graphics are great, and I couldn't keep myself from laughing at some of the ways the on-screen players react; very cute.

So, if you're looking for some fun for everyone, The Price is Right for the Wii is the way to go. Trust me; you will not be disappointed! :)

I love the price is right and was very excited to see the game but there are flaws. First of all, I agree that the wheel spinning doesn't need much thought, but my biggest complaint is that at least with my game, the games always have the same products to bid on. I have only seen 4 different showcases and I've played probably about 10-12 times for the most part to just see if the game ever changed. So there is never a challenge to guess the prices. Maybe it's just my copy that is defective, but if not then much more thought should have gone into this game.

So I read many of the reviews and had no idea whether I was going to enjoy this game or not. I finally decided to purchase it and after all of that, it's a pretty good game.

Yes, the game could have been made better. The small videos of the prizes you are bidding on are rather small, but I can still see them and the announcer tells you what they are so it wasn't that bad for me. There are other little things that could have been done better, but overall, I thought it was done well. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because even though it is a 4 player game, you all have to share one remote. I don't quite understand that.

But... the game was fun. I played it with my wife and my two boys, eight and five (my five year old spun the wheel for me). We all had a fun time and have played it at least five times in the first 24 hours. My 8 year old woke up this morning and was ready to play again. If I didn't have to go to work early, I probably would have played again as well.

So all in all, it was a good game and one that will probably be fun for our whole family. It could have been done better, but I could say that about plenty of other games too.

This isn't a bad game. I tend to use the full range of stars for reviews, so truly fantastic items get fives. Threes don't mean the game isn't worth your time, it just might not be your taste.

Positives: A well thought out spin on the classic monopoly game. All the elements are there. Railroads, properties, color groups, hotels, and of course, monopolies.

Looking for a competitive game that won't drain your whole afternoon? Want to know exactly how long the game will last? This game can be played with definite limits. A plus for those who have time windows to play in.

Differences: The game isn't so much about controlling the whole gameboard (in this case a city) or driving others to bankruptcy. Instead, you play against others in a race to complete the goals of the scenario. This might be overall sales, empire value, or election to mayor. Some scenarios do pick off players one at a time (in a Weakest Link style fashion), but this doesn't mean that player went bankrupt, just that they were in last place in some fashion when voting was conducted in the town by its "citizens".

Negatives: Marketing fluff This isn't really a sim, but a complex game. To call this the world's first competitive sim isn't anywhere near the mark. Rollercoaster Tycoon is more of a traditional sim, and Simcity more so. This is definitely a souped up boardgame that is complex enough to require a computer to model it. Second complaint, this game has nothing to do with Rollercoaster Tycoon (Chris Sawyer). The folks at Deep Red have made a great game, but the association by the publisher ("brought to you by the folks who brought you") is plain irresponsible. That's like saying Activision "makes" Quake.

Depth: The game seems to have a lot of different strategy. I have gone down several paths to win scenarios. In other words, I don't feel like I've played the game out, yet. The Computer AI is challenging, but doesn't seem to practice the same depth of strategy I do. You get the feeling you can manipulate it. Online play may be a key here (haven't played online as of this writing).

Overall, I find this game fun and challenging, with enough variation to allow for subtle strategy changes mid game. Some people ARE reporting lockups and freezes on the community boards, but its unclear whether something is really wrong with the code itself, or these are jsut isolated issues. I myself am not dropping a warning on this for game stability.

Update: This will not play on Vista/Windows7 unless you disable the music/sound in the game menu. Which is disappointing because it's cool when the decade changes...the music changes to suit that decade. You may also have to right-click on the icon, choose properties, Compatibility and change to XP SP2.

Monopoly for the PC has been out for some time, so I don't know why the complaints about how this "isn't Monopoly". What's so exciting about regular Monopoly that take hours to play?

This game is fast pace and cut-throat. I can just imagine what the multi-player is like. Being that I haven't played that yet, I'll just stick to the single-player. It has the familiar game pieces (as their 3D representative character) and blocks. The premise is similar, but with a twist. Instead of hopping around a board via die roles, you pick a block and start building. The single player gives you progressive challenges each with 3 difficulty levels. You only need to complete the easiest level to progress to the next. You also have railroad and utilities that you can buy in some scenarios.

In single mode, you are pitted against 2 computer challengers and get scenarios such as "Be the first to make $2,000 in 1 day of business." This is where the "sim" comes in--you're not only building a wide array of shops, you're trying to build what will draw the consumers and shut out the competition. You poll the people in the neighborhoods near where you want to build to find their desires, which change over time. Fill a block with businesses and take it to auction--if you outbid the others, all of your stores get free rent/utilities for a period of time so that your bottom line grows. The game starts in the 1930s but ever 1 "day" is a five year advancement in time and you gain the ability to build new business that weren't available in the previous time period. Fads come and go so a store that was popular in the 1940s may not be in 1960s. That's okay because you can renovate and change the type of business it is.

If it sounds like you get bogged down with all this, don't worry, you don't. You don't have time as it's very fast paced. Building is a matter of choosing a business type and dragging the mouse over x-number of squares and it zooms to completion immediately. The larger the building and/or the nicer the frontage, the more it costs. You can also sell off businesses that aren't doing well or change them into a different business. You have day businesses and night ones so you have to pick your building time well. Money comes in from customers, but goes out when it's time to re-order supplies and pay rent at 6 a.m. Also, you want to keep an eye on your cash levels and those of your opponents so you can send your block to auction at the best advantage for you.

Like the traditional Monopoly, you can get "Chance" cards, some good, some bad. No passing go or landing in jail, though. One thing that's a neat touch is that the music changes to the appropriate period as you move through the decades.

The only things that can be frustrating is the auctions--the characters can be tediously the same. (If you decide to quit the auction, you can click a button and speed up the pace. I wish it would just do that itself instead of bidding continuing to come from the computerized opponents.) The other thing is that it takes you through specific challenges--you're not just allowed to play a regular multiplayer against the computer (at least at first--I haven't finished all of the challenges.) The scenarios do help you get started if you didn't do the tutorial, but it would be nice if you could pick and choose which ones you want to play instead of forcing you to complete each challenge before moving on to the next.

All in all, they've kept true to the idea of Monopoly, but have given a new spin to an old game.

Monopoly Tycoon is significantly different from the Monopoly board game we've all played, so even if you liked the original game, you might not like this one. Monopoly Tycoon is a real-time strategy game where the object is to build up city blocks and satisfy the needs of the city's residents in order to win. The pace is fast, and the computer opponents know the rules and play hard even on the easy difficulty level.

Let me point out that you CAN play games against the computer without playing a scenario. I've read reviews that say this is impossible, but they are mistaken. The game allows you to host a multiplayer game with up to five computer opponents. You can also select various types of win conditions. Even though you are hosting a multiplayer game, if you want to play by yourself, simply start the game without any human opponents. Simple. But be warned; when playing multiplayer, you cannot pause the game nor speed up the clock.

There are a lot of positives to this game. I've had no problems installing or playing the game, and I only have a Pentium III/500 Mhz. The graphics are excellent -true 3D with easy camera controls, wonderful lighting effects, night and day, cars and people that move about the streets, and more. The environment really makes the game -it is well done and fun to look at.

Unfortunately, you don't spend much time looking at your creations. You're always on the lookout for new business opportunities, which typically means identifying a need for a given block (for example, your citizens might want a grocery store) and then building the appropriate store to service that need. Repeat indefinitely. You rarely have time to sit back and appreciate what you've built! The game does have some time-saving features that become easy to use with practice. But ultimately I found myself wishing that I had some time to enjoy my city.

There's some fun buried beneath the surface of this game, but it won't appeal to the average gamer. Unless you like economic warfare mixed with real-time strategy, this game probably isn't for you. And it really doesn't bear much relation to Monopoly. But it's still an innovative game, and it's certainly fun to look at -when you feel you can spare the time just to look!

Honest reviews on Monopoly Tycoon - PC

The guys at Deep Red have done it again. The last time I was driven to write a review was when I had lost an entire weekend playing Risk II, created by the same bunch that have developed this little gem.

If you're into tycoon games or the best of the Sim games, you will surely love this baby. It will blow your Monopolies clean off! I've not long had my copy because I had to import it, but I've barely stopped playing it since I tore the pack open.

The AI provides great opposition, the 3D is genuinely gorgeous, the learning curve is nice and shallow, the entire game oozes quality from the moment you install it. I've just finished playing 10 hours straight over a LAN with my girlfriend. She's got bigger monopolies than me but boy, did I have fun beating her, and winning the race to be Mayor. The scenarios are so varied in this one all of the citizen's of the city vote each day for the player that they want to be Mayor. How cool.

I guarantee, if you're like me, it will turn out to be the best 40 bucks you've ever spent. Be quick though, it seems to keep selling out. I guess that's confirmation of the fact that this is one awesome product.

Way to go, Infogrames this is your best yet!

There is in computer games (as everywhere) an attempt to mine existing licenses for extra cash. That's why you get things like "Clue: The Movie" and "Lord of the Rings: The Dental Floss". The results of this are often tedious and atrocious, keeping the wrong elements while discarding the stuff that might be fun. Developer Deep Red has gotten it right with "Monopoly Tycoon" by keeping the property names and a few key concepts of "Monopoly" and combining them with business simulation concepts and real-time action as found in "Roller Coaster Tycoon".

First thing to keep in mind is that this is NOT Monopoly-The-Board-Game nor even Monopoly-The-Computerized-Version-Of-The-Board-Game. It's a Real Time Strategy game, and time moves rather quickly. It requires far more "twitch" than, say, Roller Coaster Tycoon or Trevor Chan's marvellous (but far more complex) "Capitalism" series.

It's also a business simulation: You can buy property, build hotels and apartments, and even the railroads and four utilities (Gas Works and Telecoms are added to the board game's Electric Company and Water Works)--but most of the time you're surveying the people of the city, building businesses, and adjusting prices when your competitors try to undercut you.

A few things make this work: A good selection of scenarios with different goals; pleasant, fully 3D graphics which capture the flair of the board game, AI which does a pretty good job of thwarting the obvious plans, and brevity, brevity, brevity. You =can= play a long game but the scenarios are mostly on the short side and it's possible for a game to swivel back and forth between players rather dramatically.

The titular "monopoly" itself carries over nicely from the board game: With it, you can build hotels AND it allows you take over a competitors' businesses. (You can do that without a monopoly, too, but it's drastically more expensive.)

There are downsides: the overall coolness of the 3D presentation is offset by the rather bland building graphics (where every store more-or-less looks like every other), the musical score consists of one short-ish (albeit good) track, the vital data you need to get to quickly is spread out in a couple of places--and this seems to stem from the developers' desire to make the game a little harder--and some things about the mechanics are not entirely clear (again, perhaps from the same desire to make the game harder).

But, all-in-all, as a short diversion, Monopoly Tycoon is pretty sweet. It's a shame that a sequel is so unlikely.

"Finally, you don't have to choose!" Actually, you DO still have to choose. I mistakenly assumed that Kinect Sports 1 and 2 would be on the same disc and was disappointed to see that they just put the 2 original discs inside the same box. If you don't own the games, this is still a good package to pick up and is way better than Wii Sports. But if you already own one of the two Kinect Sports titles, you're better off just buying the one you're missing, instead of getting this.

My husband and 11 and 8 year old sons have had fun with the games but can't play the basketball game without Microsoft Award points which doesn't seem fair since we paid for the game. We're kind of new to the Kinect system so maybe we're missing something but the games have been fun.

Fun to play lots of fun games...only drawback is that there are two disks, so you can only play half the games before changing the disk.

Okay, I don't write many reviews unless the item makes a huge impact in the quality of life, and this one did.

1. This adapter is multi-functional and everyone should have at least one of these in their home.

a. This adapter will hook up to your PS3, and Xbox 360 with ease and run flawlessly

b. This item can also be used on various other devices such as your Direct T.V. box and your internet ready T.V. if your T.V didn't come with a wireless interface. For example, my Mitsubishi 73738 didn't come with a wireless card built in, so I connected one of my Madcatz adapter to its Ethernet port to obtain internet for the T.V. Likewise, you can use this device to give your Direct T.V. box access to the internet without using a hard line. I am using an HR-22 box from Direct T.V. just so you know.

Hook up is not that hard, I bypassed the CD entirely and hooked it up manually. However, this can be a pain for anyone who has not hooked up a device like this manually before. I will leave the procedure below to help you set yours.

1. Whatever computer you plan to configure this device with, disconnect it from the internet, UNLESS its hooked up wirelessly, then you can leave it connected.

2. go into your configuration for your ethernet port on your computer and change the IP address to 10.10.10.4 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0

3. After you do that, connect the Madcatz adapter to your Ethernet port. Next, open a browser and type in 10.10.10.254 and hit enter. You should now be looking at the login screen for your Madcatz adapter. Both the username and password is admin.

4. Once your logged into the adapter, select the folder that says, Site Survey.

5. Click the radio button next to your router or the router you want this device to use for the internet, then select Add Profile.

6. A window will pop up. Add in the same encryption that is on your router here along with the phrase or keyword used to access this router. When you are done here, click apply and your done. Dont forget to set your computers IP address back to "Obtain IP by DHCP" or whatever it was set to prior to configuring this Mad Catz Adapter. Incidentally, I am currently on the internet using the mad catz adapter on my laptop.

Side notes, and summary;

1. You must changed your computers LAN (Local Area Connection) IP address (not your Wireless Network Connection) to 10.10.10.4; subnet 255.255.255.0 do not skip this step

2. Hook up Madcatz to your Ethernet Port, bring up a browser, type 10.10.10.254, and login using username; admin, password admin

3. Access and configure ONLY the Site Survey folder, don't open any other folder, YOU DON'T NEED THEM!. If you do, and you dont know what your doing, consider yourself screwed.

4. Select your router in the list of routers you see and hit Add Profile. 9 times out of 10, this area will already be configured with the encryption of your router. The only thing you normally have to update is the encryption phrase or passkey. Your adapter will normally pull all the information it needs to configure itself, however it will need you to enter whatever the passkey or phrase is.

5. Click apply, close the browser, disconnect the router from your computer and hook it up to your Xbox to test.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND

1. Be aware that your router maybe older and if you haven't updated the firmware in awhile, now maybe a good time. This is a newer device.

2. If this device disconnects from the network periodically, it may have lost its DHCP address and needs a new one. I suggest telling your router to lease the address to the MadCatz Adapter indefinitely, so there is no overlap and conflicting addresses.

3. I strongly suggest using the Web based application only to set up this device. Contrary to earlier post by others, you DO NOT need the CD to set this device up through Web based.

4. Finally, if you set this device up correctly, its extremely fast. Its faster than my D-Link USB Wireless N. Testing this device against a USB D-LINK wireless N was no contest. The madcatz adapter hooked up to my laptop performed faster, downloading page request from the internet quickly. As noted earlier, this device can be used to provide wireless to a range of devices to include, desktop computers, laptops, Xbox360, internet ready T.V's, PS3, DIRECTV and so on (I've tested this device on most of these).

Good luck!

I'd thought mine was broken cause I was following all the instructions from various sources. It turns out there's one thing you MIGHT have to do that no one mentioned to me. I'll note a couple of small issues here some people might get caught by.

1. One reviewer on a different website claimed their unit didn't hold it's settings if it was powered off. This may cause problems in using the adapter for some, but mine didn't have that problem.

2. In my case, the only thing that was actually holding me back from getting it to work? The xbox 360 needed to be set back to it's factory defaults. After that it connected like a charm, no problem in the slightest.

I don't really know any other tips to give that aren't covered right there in the manual, it's really very simple besides such small issues.

This wireless N adapter works flawlessly. The nay sayers consider it an inconvenience to have to connect it to your PC first but it's easy as 1-2-3. It takes less than 3 minutes to configure and you are up and running. I was lucky enough to pick this up from an Amazon seller for $20.00 and is well worth the $49.00 that most Amazon sellers are selling it for. It's cheaper than the Microsoft adapter and well worth it. The other reviewers must have had other home network issues because it is a breeze to get up and running. I was enable to configure it in Windows 7 64 Bit with zero problems. There are many negative revies on this product here at Amazon but let me tell you this thing has worked flawlessly quite a few days now. The key is not to use auto channel selection within your wireless router settings. This thing is so easy to configure Stevie Wonder could do it. You don't have to be a computer tech to set it up. If you just use the disc that comes with it and follow the on screen instructions you should have no problem. If you find yourself in the network adapter properties of your computer in Windows 7 just keep clicking every item in the box until the property tab allows you to select it. Then set the ip to the one suggested on setup. When you'r done just change it back to obtain ip address automatically. If you set it up properly you wont be dissapointed.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360/PS3 - Wireless Gaming Network

After reading over many of the other reviews I thought to my self, "I can do this." I really didn't think it would be a big deal at all.

My first attempt to get this thing hooked up I chose to configure it via the web method with the CD. I went through all of the steps which the CD lays out for you very well. Step by step it really only take about 15 minutes using the CD. However after finishing the process I went back to my 360 hooked it up fired it up and....NOTHING. So that made me a little frustrated.

The Second attempt: I go back to my router and I knew that I had a WPS button on my router so I decide to give that method a shot. Again the CD walks a person through all of the steps very well and leaves fairly little room for human error so long as you are able to follow instructions. However this all ended with the same result. So now I'm not frustrated. I'm Mad. I just paid a bunch of money for an item that does not work. So I gave myself a cooling off period and I let it be for a few days.

Third Attempt: I decide to go back and do the web method again and follow the CD walk-through again. Maybe I did something wrong the first time. I go through all of the steps and hook it back up and to my surprise it tapped right into X Box Live and I was on playing Modern Warfare 2 without any problems....

However soon after that I found that it was having an increasing difficulty connecting with my router. I found that rebooting the modem sometimes helps, rebooting the router helps sometimes, rebooting the product under review helped sometimes. However now it does not seem to be working well at all as I have not been able to get onto X Box live for three days now and this is more than a little annoying. In this case read the negative reviews and understand the risk you are taking before you buy this plastic piece of garbage.

If I were to start this over again. I would by the Microsoft adapter and would have been done with it.

Black - Xbox
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

"Black" is a thrilling, if temporary, diversion from other games with more depth and replay value. This is a fast-paced shooter that the developers have described as "gun porn". It's made by Critereon, the team that does the outstanding "Burnout" racing series. If you've ever played those games, you know they specialize in spectacular scenes of destruction.

"Black" doesn't disappoint in that regard. In fact, that's the whole point of the game. Basically, you are handed an arsenal of weapons and expected to expend as much ammo as possible shooting everything that moves, and a great deal of what doesn't. You shoot until something either dies or blows up, and there ain't much that doesn't blow up. Wooden planks blow up in this game, for crying out loud.

The gun models are highly detailed. Supposedly the head of Critereon decided to make the game after spending time at a Las Vegas gun range. The scenery graphics are decent, perhaps on par with "Mercenaries" but well shy of the Xbox gold standard set by the likes of the "Splinter Cell" series. From what I've seen of the first couple levels it's a bit dark. The trick is to find the fuel cans and crates of explosives littered around the maps, and blast those to light up the area with serious fireworks.

Let me talk about the sound. Oh, the glorious sound! This game probably has the best sound of any Xbox game I've played. Despite the inclusion of 5.1 Dolby on a lot of Xbox games, I have never found in-game sounds to be especially satisfying. Not so here. Each gun sounds distinct, and deafeningly loud. Since I can only enjoy the smell of virtual napalm and cordite after my kid goes to bed, I have to keep things quiet. But this game is so outrageously noisy that I have to turn the sound system down to a setting that, if I was watching a DVD or TV, would be nearly inaudible. I'm not complaining, mind you. This is a good thing. At a normal setting, the sound effects rumble and boom like a thunderstorm in your living. Seriously, this is a huge component of the game's enjoyability, and I find it puzzling that more developers don't get this right.

I said "Black" will only be a temporary diversion for most people. That's because it's apparently really short. Seasoned FPS fans will probably be able to blow through it in 6 hours or so. I expect it will take a butterfingers like me more along the lines of 10 hours or more. There's no multiplayer whatever and very little replay value beyond unlocking silver weapons with unlimited ammo and finally an M16.

"Black" is a great FPS game. It is more of a "shoot everything that moves" game than a strategy shooter. It does require some thought to the tactics you need to complete a level and some of the levels are very tough. If you don't do some planning you probably won't get very far. The graphics are good, the sound effects great. There are several different weapons available, shotguns, SMG's, pistols etc. The AI is average with the bad guys being pretty predictable but still tough. It is an excting game that should be very challenging at the higher difficulty levels. I have been playing on "Normal" and it is tough. The violence and language are pretty rough so this is definitely not for young kids.

Best Deals for Black - Xbox

I'm hunkered down in a corner of a room on the second floor of what once was a metal hospital. The limp body of the last soldier to cross my path lies across a thin, stained mattress on the floor. I'm down to the last of my shotgun ammo, my AK's down to 20 bullets and my heartbeat is thrumping insistently. I try to regain my composure and take stock of my surroundings, using precious time to plan my next move while the enemy closes in. That is, until the world begins exploding around my ears. Above my head, a section of the wall is ripped away by a teeth-clenching shotgun blast. As I stand and turn to face my assailant, the windows to my right are diced with a spray of automatic fire. It's pointless to return fire as the afternoon sun has made any attempts to pinpoint the shooter(s) location blindingly unrealistic. I run for the door, only to find two more armed goons awaiting my arrival. Unfortunately, they remembered to bring heavy machine guns with them.

This is the world of Black one of the more realistic and satisfying shooters to come out in the past few years. The graphics are at times stunning, owing much to the realistic lighting. The way moonlight reflects from the barrel of your gun is often breathtaking, and the harsh glare of the afternoon sun is as beautiful as it is frustrating.

Much has been made of the designer's attempts to create fully destructible environments, and they do succeed to a point. But keep in mind that it's impossible to turn a city street into a flat, rubble garden. While you can fire a rocket launcher and take out a few stories of a building, the building will (in most cases) remain standing. Also, barriers such as fences, walls, and other obstacles that delineate each level are indestructible, which only makes sense. That it's impossible to pull a "Rampage" and level everything in sight is a minor quibble, and those who claim otherwise are missing the point.

This game is all about the guns and the pleasure that firing these guns provides. If your enemies are behind cover, then destroy their cover and pick them off. If your being shot at by a sniper in a building, then a few shots into an adjoining propane container will take out your foe and necessitate several architectural refurbishments.

The designers intentionally make your enemies harder to kill, thus necessitating an assessment of your environment, the positions of the enemy, and ways in which to exploit your surroundings to your advantage. While this can, at times, be frustrating you'll certainly find yourself killed at least once by an opponent that you just emptied a clip into with little effect, causing you to swear like a sailor and throw down the controller in disgust. But trust me, in five minutes you'll be back. In time, you'll recognize the importance of strategy over run-and-gun heroics, and will reap the satisfying rewards of several well-placed headshots and a nicely timed grenade throw or two.

Now, the game has some problems, which does bring down the rating. For one, it is short and an experienced gamer who takes his or her time playing at the "normal" level will likely finish the game in about 10 hours. While this doesn't affect the initial excitement and playability, the lack of a multiplayer mode (either online or otherwise) seriously diminishes the replayability. Also, since the "Hard" difficulty and "Black Ops" difficulty are so insanely HARD (no health packs!!!) and the save points few and far between, few players will glean any satisfaction from making incremental progress through a game they have already completed. Like the real field of battle, there is no learning curve and while the enemy may not wear as much armor in earlier levels and use cover less effectively, their bullets still do as much damage.

Another problem comes from the AI. While they are semi-intelligent and do a good job of working co-operatively and defensively, you will soon figure out that, in a fire-fight, they move in a predictable pattern from position to position over and over again. Therefore, it makes it easier to take down your opponents, but not in a satisfying way. In certain missions you'll be teamed up with AI soldiers who will help you during the level. Fortunately, they're tenacious fighters who cannot, under any circumstances, be killed. Unfortunately, they also can't hit the wide side of a barn from 10 feet and will let enemies shoot you without bothering to assist. It seems that they were included to make the game feel a bit less Rambo, and help alert you to dangers as they appear. They also shout orders like "Take out that RPG!" which becomes even more annoying when you've just taken your third hit of collateral damage from that RPG and realize that if you were working with soldiers who knew how to aim, RPGs wouldn't be much of a problem. As far as the co-op missions go, you're still on your own.

Finally, the lack of save points has been a major complaint from people who've reviewed this game in the past. While it's understandable and would have been nice to have more of them it also would have made the game too easy and equally unsatisfying. There's an exciting sense of dread when you're hunkered down, health meter close to gone, surrounded by heavily armed opponents and know that, if you get killed it means spending another 45 minutes getting back to this point. It gives you a reason to weigh your options, proceed with caution, and maybe just maybe you'll make it through this alive.

That said, the game probably isn't worth owning. But once the price drops a bit, it'll be worth checking out. For now, renting is probably the best option since the long term possibilities are limited (4 difficulty levels and that's it) although the ability to drop into a level once you've completed the game and cause some mayhem may help you while away a few hours when you're bored.

As for the pickle I'd gotten myself into in the mental hospital, the second I stepped into the hall I knew it was over. I managed to take one guy down with a hip shot from the shotgun, but caught one round too many as I furiously tried to reload. Then, everything went to grey. Then I screamed for the tenth time that day and loud enough for my neighbors to hear, how I would never "play this *$%#@ game again." And I'd shout the same thing ten times more before I was through. When a game can be equally frustrating, satifying, and fun it's definitely worth a gamer's attention.

Honest reviews on Black - Xbox

Black is a pretty cool game. You're a special ops guy who uses a bunch of different machine guns, sniper rifle, RPG, grenades and an assortment of handguns. The problem is....every other game has that stuff, too. Add in the fact that there is no online play and you have a game that's been done a million times before. Black does have one thing that most FPS don't...NO JUMP BUTTON. Fancy that! You can't jump over stuff so often times you get stuck on the edge of a box or railing and the enemy just blows you away. Also, you can't get to the places where your enemies are sometimes. That's bunk!

Anyway, Black is simply ok. Its fun for a while, but the entire time you are playing you just keep thinking, "haven't I played this game before?"

I just got through playing this game for the first time and have to say I absolutely loved it. For someone who has played so many FPS type games being a staunch fan of all the WW2 Shooters Ghost Recon series Halo Medal of Honor Tom Clancy Splinter Cell etc etc etc; let me tell you, I was in heaven with this game. Maybe it's just the type of shooter I am but this is the first game that has ever given me such a cinematic thrill in gun play terms!

The game has a few quirks such as the lack of a jump button hey, I like to be able to jump! but you soon get over the lack thereof. The way things look in this game is just lush and pure noir. For lighting and graphics think Splinter Cell but whereas others may find Splinter Cell superior I found BLACK better for some reason. Perhaps Splinter Cell can look a little too much on the bleeding side of saturated colour that it's a tiny bit Disney for me at times. With BLACK I was in a very gritty, visceral environment at all times and with some really convincing scenery that only enhanced my playing experience.

The guns are superb in this game you may have played games with similar or even identical weapons before but they never looked and handled like these I promise you. The sound and feel when in use is second to none in gaming for my money and when you hit something it actually does what it should ... shatter, fray, splinter, split, shard, crumble, explode, obliterate, implode, crumple, twist, break, snap ... you get the idea?!!! No game I've played delivers like this one for target response to fire this is just killer! There are so many things to hit and detonate in this game and it's never been so much fun having at it with weapons.

The AI are pretty darn fun to go at it with there are some mean mofos out there, look out for the cats with the extra padding and hockey masks! Then later come the same cats but with bullet proof riot sheilds humping shotguns!!! The AI are excellent all round and act fairly consistently but not stupidly I was all at once challenged and kept in a high state of tension whilst gunning against them. Any game that puts me on the edge of my seat like this game did deserves 5 stars. The music in this game and the overall atmosphere are pure Noir ... perhaps the French version got called what I reckon it ought to be called, Noir!

It may have had some short comings overall I was a bit annoyed at not being able to adjust the panning ( left/right/up/down ) sensitivity of my weapons but who cares, there are so many things going for this game that I can't find a thing to complain about. You won't find a better FPS this year.

I really enjoyed this controller cover the only thing I would mention about the cOntroller cover is that dog hair sticks to it.

Alright, first off this thing comes from China. It takes forever and a hand biscuit to get here, and I mean that. You really gotta EXPECT this thing to come in a month's time. Don't expect it to come in 2 weeks, cause it won't.

Now, for the product. It's a silicone case, just as the title says. When looking closely at it, you can see how it was cut, which isn't really a good thing. It's relatively easy to put on, and it's cut very well around the buttons. It hugs the controller as well (my case is a little loose near the RT and RB buttons, but not annoyingly lose.)

I have a BLACK controller, and I must say that the pink looks a little weird against the black for some reason. It looks very nice with the white in that picture, but with the black, it looks a wee bit strange.

It is also a little bent near the bottom--whoever shipped my case decided to ball it up and squish it into a bag tiny enough to hold an electron molecule.

Overall, it's a good buy. It's cheap and it covers your controller with a color that you like! Don't expect it to be amazing--look at the price. This is a good buy for the PRICE, but if this was any more expensive, I wouldn't be happy with the purchase. But come on, who's really looking at your controller? You and your friends, not a beautician.

If your into the lightcores definitely worth buying. Shroomboom has two points of light,(most of the Lightcores only have one.) his mushroom glows green and his eyeball is like a little lightbulb. A great addition to the collection.

Part of the fun of the game is collecting all the Skylanders. My son enjoys all of them so far, including this one. Something that's NOT fun is overpaying for the figures. Just wait it out and eventually they'll all be at the suggested retail price. I picked this one up a few days ago from here and it was even less than what the Lightcores usually go for. I haven't overpaid on a single Skylander (original one and Giants) to date and don't plan on. What people advertise to be "rare" is eventually going to be as common as a pack of toilet paper. The truly rare ones will remain rare, such as the crystal ones, unpainted, etc., but those are for the hard-core collectors.

Shroomboom was one of the first Skylanders out and now he has a makeover with the new pose and of course the lights. Not the most robust character in the game, he has his moments. If you're not interested in collecting all of them, you can easily pass this one by; but for completionists, this won't disappoint.

I've ordered yet another LightCore Skylander. The first one is Jet-Vac, normally I'd go for normal version, but these two are a special case for LightCores.

I bought this thing back in June because my 2 roommates and I had been burning through batteries like nobody's business. It was kind of confusing at first because the package said it was supposed to flash red at low power, flash red at a slower pace when at medium charge, then be solid green when it was fully charged. It just flashed continuously red all the time but it charged fine, so that was ok.

Just recently however, one of the battery packs stopped charging. The wiimote would sit on the pad and flash continuously as it normally does, then we'd try and use it and it would have absolutely no power whatsoever. Pushing a button on the wiimote didn't even cause one of the four lights on the bottom to flash at all. Wrote it off as a lost cause, but now my other battery pack doesn't charge either. Got a good few months out of it but for the price I'd much rather get at least a couple of years.

Reading the other reviews it seems like some of the panels work great and others only work for a few months and then sputter out. Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me. For this reason, I can't recommend this product. It was a great idea, really cool, looks sexy and is a great conversation piece (the phrase "inductive charging" tends to elicit lots of "oohs" and "ahhs") but now it's just a broken piece of equipment I spent 30 bucks on.... and now we're back to letting our wiimotes munch on Duracells.

This is a good item but, it was difficult to find replacement batteries. I went to Energizer.com and called the 800 number. I was transferred at least 4 times but the reps were very helpful and once I reached the right dept I was very pleased. The rep took my information and they are sending me replacement batteries free of charge. If you need replacement batteries call: 1-800-331-3844 Website: hope this helps someone.

I just picked up this charger last night and I will update this review later but I did want to mention one thing. I have found out through reading reviews that several other induction chargers will not charge the black wii remotes with the black silicone sleeve on. Supposedly because it is to thick. THIS CHARGE DOES CHARGE THE BLACK WII REMOTES WITH THE BLACK SILICON COVERS ON!!! I set the controllers to charge overnight so I am not sure if the black and white controllers charge just as fast or what but I will update this review after a while of use. I just wanted people out there with black wii remotes to know that this will work for them. The only catch is the battery cover is white but that doesn't matter if you put your black sleeve back on. Other than that the charger seems great. It glows red when its charging and green when its done. Simple.

Honest reviews on Wii Energizer Flat Panel 2x Induction Charger

I've tried other rechargeable battery inserts to no avail. This one is great! It's easy to use and I've never had the batteries run out during game play yet. Also, unlike other flat panel induction chargers, there are no weird clips or attachments to put onto the remote while it's charging you just drop the controller off and walk away.

It's perfect. Well worth the price.

Dont even bother purchasing. Right out of the box, one of the batteries failed, giving a blinking red battery light. I returned the item and received another one which stopped working after 1 charge on each battery. Both batteries give the blinking red light now.

Since i was unable to recharge the energizer batteries anymore, i recently purchased a pack of Sanyo Eneloop batteries. I noticed they were lasting a lot longer than the one charge i had on the enrgizer batteries. So out of curiousity,i took apart the Energizer battery cases apart and found they were using AAA batteries (not AA) with 600mAh of juice. The Eneloop AA batteries which i used with my Wii controllers were 2000mAh. Even their AAA batteries had more juice at 800mAh. You might as well get a set of normal batteries. Not only will they last longer but they will work!

Obviously, I don't need to explain GTA3 and GTA Vice City, because at this point, everybody has at least heard about them. Well, I shouldn't need to say this either, but both games are fantastic. If you have a PS2, and you don't have either game... first off, what the hell else were you buying when these were out??? Well, that's okay, because now, you can get them both for $40 (which is two-fifths of the total price I paid for both). So if you have a PS2, and still don't have either game, GO GET THIS BUNDLE PACK. 'Nuff said.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

First off, these games are incredible. Perhaps the best Action RPGs I've ever played, with a really dark/sarcastic sense of humor. If people don't understand that the games are satirical, they probably shouldn't be playing them... The excessive violence is humorous sadistic fun.

That being said, I cannot believe that these little kids are coming on here and spouting off the ridiculous things they're saying. Sorry, you little brats, you should not be playing these games, nor am I interested in your opinions or justifications for doing so.

I was absolutely dumbfounded by the 12 year old who posted something like "there's female nudity in this game, and that's bad because it makes parents react negatively to the game." If you think nudity is the most offensive thing in this game, you're completely oblivious... and if nudity is what it takes to alert parents to the simple obvious fact that children should not be playing this, then thank god for the nudity.

Forget all this silly controversy over the new game's Hot Coffee mode... These games SHOULD be rated Adults Only to begin with...

Parents!!!!: This is a game where your character can have sex with a hooker, then beat her to death to get your money back. Then you can use that money to buy a gun and go kill some cops. You can kill innocent old ladies for kicks and go unpunished for it. You can enter a code that makes the game more violent, so that spraying people with your machine gun will make their arms fly off and their heads explode. You can block a highway with your abandoned car and then climb up onto a hill with a rocket launcher and start blowing away the traffic that piles up. You can climb up to the top of a tall building and take out innocent pedestrians with a sniper rifle. Your character will be employed by members of the Mafia and Yakuza, and he will be involved in drug smuggling and weapon trafficking. In this game, the police are your enemy. This is a game that rewards you for committing heinous crimes, and it's an absolute blast unlike any other game out there...

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR YOUR KIDS! DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN WHEN THEY TRY TO CONVINCE YOU TO BUY IT FOR THEM!

There are few things short of hardcore porn that I would say are more innapropriate for children. You should be AT LEAST 17 to play this game. Of course these little kids are trying to say that it's ok for children, but come on! They love it because its insanely fun!

Video games are NOT just for children anymore, and this game makes that blatantly clear. It's a great step forward for this medium as a valid artform, but it's also dangerous for parents who don't pay attention and assume that video games are just for children.

Best Deals for Grand Theft Auto Double Pack: Grand Theft Auto III / Grand Theft

You have a PS2, but you don't have the game that pushes your system to it's limits, will suck weeks from your social life, and is the most fun ever? Well, now you can fix all that. If you never bought GTA3 or VICE then this is your chance. What really makes both of these games great are:

Open ended: go where ever you want, do whatever you want. In this way it's more like a toy that you can play with and make up your own goals.

Great graphics: Vice City is esp nice, with shine off cars in the morning to reflections on the rain soaked road. And making that perfect jump in slo-mo is sweet.

Music: The radio stations are great. And the talk shows and NPR parodies are awsome.

Never ending: there are so many missions and things to find and do you'll never finish this game. But, this gives it a shelf life beyond the system you're playing it on.

Gameplay: it's perfect. No hard button combos to memorize, but still very functional.

Also, if you ever owned a Commodore 64 then you HAVE to see the startup screen for Vice City :-)) As others have said, this is not a kids game, it is for mature teens and up. It has a rating, use it.

HINT: To steal a cop car, try to open the passenger side door. When the cop jumps out to nab you, try the door again and it's yours. Also, search the net for cheats, these are fun. But don't save your game with some cheats, it could make it unbeatable.

Just for fun: Play tag with the cop cars. Or, stand on top of a truck and toss grenades into traffic without falling off.

Honest reviews on Grand Theft Auto Double Pack: Grand Theft Auto III / Grand Theft

What can be said about the Grand Theft Auto series? That hasn't been said before. Well, not a heck of a lot.

First of all, this is one of the best deals to come along in a long time. These games alone are the reason to own a PS2, and provide some of the longest gameplay sessions in recent memory. Let's break it down.

GTA III:

The story of a nameless street thug who becomes a wheelman for the mob. Set in the dar and stormy (and ironically named) Liberty City, you will do everything from boost cars to deliver "goods" to whack people in your journey through this dark world of crime and punishment. While it seems simple, this isn't just a game. It's an experience.

With GTA III, Rockstar Games gave people a giant, shiny, macabre, funny toy to play with. There's a whole world in here, and it's ripe for the picking. Hookers, gangsters, cops, robbers, grease monkeys, and innocent pedestrians; all are there to populate and color this world. This is a crime simulator, and crime most certainly DOES pay here. It's also damn fun.

GTA Vice City

Rather than offering an upgrade to the blockbuster GTA III, Rockstar crafted an acid-washed, neon-soaked, 80's gangster epic with equal parts Scarface and Miami Vice thrown into the mix that was created for the previous game. Tommy Vercetti, a jailed man just freed, is set up by the mobs of Vice City, and now is in a fight for survival, and control.

Take the free-roaming gameplay of GTA III, add more vehicles, more city, more people, smarter AI, more weapons, and a whole lotta hair metal, and you'd be close to getting a bead on Vice City. This 80's inspired masterpiece of gameplay, story, and style stands as a hallmark of the series, and of action games everywhere. You'll not only turn wheelman, but you'll buy property, earn money from the city's drug trade, get yourself a mansion, and even some minions I mean, comrades in arms.

What was good in GTA III is better, slicker, prettier, faster, and funnier in Vice City. It's a brave new world. It's up to the gamer to make the most of it.

It's funny really. There were two games in the series previous to the megahit that was GTA III, and yet, despite that these are the same concept, gameplay, and focus that the sequels expand on, it was only with the realease of the more realistic 3D games that all the noise was made about more violence in vidya games being bad for youth.

Realism can be dangerous, but the claim that violent games make violent people is unfounded and lunatic. There is a fundamental difference between the digital and the real, and it's up to parents to make sure that children understand where the line is.

Besides, that's what the rating system is for. "M" games are NOT for kids, any more than "R" rated movies are. Amazing how logic can be so easily sidestepped in the name of moral outrage.

In either case, these are gems not to be passed up. Bargain price, classic gameplay, great stories, and the most replayability this side of. . .well, anything really. There's more than enough violence and mayhem for anyone to really enjoy living on the wrong side of the law. Just remember, save before you quit.

This is, without a doubt, the most enjoyable racing came I've played since the original "DESTRUCTION DERBY" for the PSone. I loved playing that game, because as the race progressed the track would become littered with the crushed hulks of the cars, black smoke belching from the engine. It was so much fun. And now this new "TEST DRIVE" game has the same insane fun factor and more cars, tracks, unlockables and bone-jarring crashes than any demoltion derby nut could want!

One thing I love about this game is that, unlike other racers, coming in first in the events is not what you need to do to advance through the game. You instead are rewarded for hitting your opponents HARD!!!! and/ or knocking them out of the race (called Kills in the game). The more crashes and kills you rack up, the higher your reputation rating goes. And that is how you unlock cars, tracks, video footage of real derby doings (those guys are nuts!!!), and feats ( such as being able to shoot live chickens out the front of your car that explode on impact sending chicken feathers all over and any unlucky opponent flying into the air or off a cliff ).

There is a large selection of cars and some fun, special vehicles like school buses ( almost indestructible, my favorite car in the game being the rainbow colored bus ), a mail truck, ambulance, taxi and a hearse complete with a coffin in the back ( the red one is called "The Dead Sled") .

The tracks are nice and the race events are way cool! There are so many different types of events, you'll never get bored. There are figure-8 jump races ( in the center there are jumps and the cars fly into the air often crashing with the cross traffic ), forward-backward races ( one lap driving forward, the next backward ), suicide races ( half the pack goes in one direction, the other half in the opposite direction causing many crashes and smashes ), flagpole races ( twice a lap you must drive around a flagpole before continuing ), demolition derbys, push-offs ( like the demolition derbies, only you get extra points for each car you knock out or push-out of the circle ), and on and on.

In action mode you can pick your car, how many races you want to do at one track (1,3,5,7) and which ones (very nice!) and then go out and run your opponents off the road!

In career mode you start out with a little junky car and not much cash. You must enter into events, earn reputation points and cash, buy new cars ( fasters and more durable ) and eventually become the top ranked driver. It is loads of fun, believe me. You will have a blast!

The graphics are quite nice. Doors fly open, hoods are torn off, cars burst into flames, black smoke billows out of their wrecked engines all to some fine haevy metal music.

I've been playing this game almost every day since I bought it and don't see myself growing tired of it anytime soon. In fact, as I buy new games to play, I believe that this will be one game I'll keep coming back to again and again for a crashing good time!

I know there are other really BIG racing games coming out soon (GT4, MIDNIGHT CLUB 3, NFS UNDERGROUND 2), but don't let that make you ignore this smaller title. I believe any car nut/ racing fan will really enjoy this game and have a good time for many hours. In short, buy it, you'll like it! I know I did. Can you tell? George Bauch.

Alot of times i will have trouble getting into racing games due to 1 or 2 small things that make the game a drag... but this one i have beaten 3 times and still enjoy playiong it!!!!

The Cars are excellent (i love the hearse), Physics and Damage are amazingly realistic.... very cool unlockable Videos. Tons of diffrent race modes, and a Very good soundtrack!!!

The ONLY thing that i think is a little dissappointing is the fact that SOME of the event types are not playable in the Carreer mode (out of about 25 diffrent styles of events..only about 3 are NOT in the Career mode).

I recomend you pick up this game.. if you like racing, and like Demolition derby style play... You will love this game Beyond words!!!!

Best Deals for Test Drive: Eve Of Destruction

When I bought this game, I had little idea of the doors it was going to open to remind me of the vintage, small town demo derbys I went to during my childhood and teenage years. There's no NASCAR cars here or formula one racers, no modern driving techniques or special, millenium style scenarios. It's straight back to the small town, state fair, dirt track style demo derbies and races with 50's, 60's, and 70's Fords, Dodges, and Chevys spray painted with numbers and stripes and ready to hit the tracks for fender bender mayhem!

You also DON'T have to be a racing video game guru to win these races! There are playing levels from rookie to legend in this game. Even in the legend level, if you can steer and go around the track, handle basic racing strategies, you have a great chance of winning! Winning and racing are a hoot in this game with the addition of the announcer shouting your name as the winner or teasing you because you came in last!

The races are wildly entertaining, from demo derbies to figure 8 races to races I hadn't even thought of. The Gauntlet involves racing a hearse around the track five times while other drives try to wreck you. The Suicide Race is exciting while the other half of the cars come at you head on. Detention is absolute mayhem fun, driving a schoolbus trying to destroy the other cars on the track. Some races aren't exactly easy, The Whiparound Race isn't as easy as it sounds, but fun to try (I can only imagine how true drivers managed to turn around going full speed while racing). My favorites are the figure 8 jump race and the down to basics demo derby.

Replay action is awesome in this game. You can choose several options to view the race from many angles and it gives great opportunities to see how well you've done or witness better some of the spectacular crashes that can happen in this game.

There's a large selection of vintage cars to choose from. In career mode, it takes a bit more work to earn money to get them, but when you reach certain levels, it's fun to take the cars to the garage and "spray paint" them with your own names, logos, designs, and numbers. The special effects are also great, from the bursts of flames from the pipes protruding through the hoods to smoking engines to the banging sounds of cars crashing into each other.

I have spent countless hours playing this game and it's still fun. It takes me back to the carnival and fair days when I would sit and wait for the racing/demo derby to begin.

Whoever invented this game-a big handshake to you and THANKS for making life such great fun for demo derby enthusiasts!

Honest reviews on Test Drive: Eve Of Destruction

Among the various racing games I have played, this is easily one of the more fun games. I enjoy car racing games probably more than other types of games, and I have enjoyed games like Grand Turismo a lot. However, I think Eve of Destruction is probably the best and most gratifying video games I've played. Grand Turismo is a stellar game, but I did find that it was rather complicated, and it had a steep learning curve, and it took a long time to become even a modest player--but it is still a fun game (I would like to point out that I did cut my video game playing teeth on the old school nintendo, so it may take a dinosaur like me more time to master these new fangled video games that the kids these days love so much). Eve of Destruction was easy enough to master to make it fun from the start of play.

Basically the premise of the game is entirely built around demolition derby events. So, there are all these different types of races (like the Jump race or the figure 8 race) and then there are these other events (like the demolition derby, the gauntlet) where one doesn't race so much as just repeatedly drive one's own car into others' cars. Basically, in the various events, the more one hits other cars, the more points one earns; the more points one earns the more stuff gets unlocked. So, essentially, the more one hits the other cars during the game, the better the game gets. As I said, it's quite gratifying.

There are a good selection of different cars with different capabilities. Compact cars, muscle cars, cars that are designed either for speed or good handling or delivering/taking abuse (I prefer using the "Gladiator" which is somewhat like a late 1960s Dodge Charger). In the straight up action mode, one can choose from any number of cars, including 'specialty' cars like a school bus, police car or ambulance. Career mode is a lot of fun as well. One starts out with a crappy car, but once one enters events and earns money, one can buy upgrades or better cars while climbing the Eve of Destruction rankings.

The one criticism I have is that the game has an "announcer" which is fine, but he tends to repeat himself. The game also has music which I did not care for, but you can turn it off, so, I can't much complain about that. I guess you can also turn the announcer off, so maybe I don't have much room to complain about that either. Whatever.

We were still using our original guitar that came with RB1 until it finally gave up the ghost recently. The styling hasn't changed with the included guitars with the RB bundles and as such the Player's edition takes it one step further than the stock guitars. While you can still 'swing' the guitar up to enable overdrive, there's a nice touch sensitive bart that will do it too.

The buttons on the neck are significantly quieter than the stock guitar, however the strummer is a bit noiser. It is more accurate though.

The wammy bar is more like a real guitar and offers the same resistance you'd find on a real guitar. If you haven't played a real guitar before this may be a turn off, but for real guitarists it will be of no suprise.

It still isn't exact replica sized, but does well for the game and is a nice upgrade for those that want a more realistic feel but aren't ready to jump up to the 'pro series' guitars.

I suggest you do not purchase this guitar. The basic model from rockband is better. I thought the loud tapping noise when you strum would go away so I kept it and tried to "break-it-in. I would return if I could but have had it too long. I am so disappointed

I've beat this game and I can say that it takes quite a bit of departure from Killzone 2. Killzone 3 contains more cutscenes, better graphics, and more options to take down the Helghast. The story line is top notch and I can say it is going to be my favorite game for quite a while!

Everything included in the Helghast Edition is of great quality and attention to detail (especially in the Helghast helmet) is what makes this edition worth it in the end. I really enjoyed the soundtrack but I feel like it is incomplete in regards to the best music from the game. I've always considered the Killzone series to have some of the best music so I was a little disappointed.

All in all I recommend any Killzone fan to pick up the Helghast edition, although as long as you get the game you'll have tons of fun!

The game is awesome. The multiplayer is good, although could be amazing if they included the ability to create custom matches from day 1 (a patch is said to be on the way to allow for that, like KZ2), and if they gave us back the ability to create multiple spawn points, including being able to spawn off the squad leader. They made the multiplayer more like COD, which isn't bad, but is a huge step down from KZ2 experience.

The helmet, while plastic, is very detailed and I think is pretty sweet.

The art book is put together wonderfully. There are concepts of pretty much everything you could want. And the background of the pages has like a glossy holographic effect to them with a design. Pretty cool.

The figure is one of a kind. Very detailed as well.

The Super Voucher is awesome. It is included inside the case with the manual and SOCOM 4 Beta Code. I got online at noon on release day, used my double xp with voucher, and played until 4am the next morning! I ranked all the way to Colonel 1. You could probably get further than me, as I'm not the best FPS player. I have over 50 career unlocks to use after the xp and access to all weapons expires. The double xp is the best part of the voucher, without a doubt. It says the super voucher retails for $60, so it's like getting the book, helmet, and figure for free. If you look at it that way. The dynamic theme is a killzone 3 helghast theme really. Thought it would be more animated, but its cool. No way to really describe it. I might post a video, if it dosn't infringe on copyright or something.

If you are a killzone fanatic, no doubt you will love this.

If you are a casual fan, you will love it too.

It really is a great package. And with the voucher, makes it worth every penny. My psn is steelerguy24 if anyone wants to play killzone 3.

Best Deals for Killzone 3: Helghast Edition

The following review will only cover the Collector's Edition (or Helghast Edition) content of Killzone 3 and not the game itself. It will also be brief since the video shows off most of the content for the Collector's Edition.

The first item of the Helghast Edition that should be mentioned is the helmet itself. The helmet is fairly decent in size and as others have mentioned before, is not big enough to be worn. You will also instantly notice how it does not weigh very much which in all fairness is not a terrible thing. The paint job on the helmet is also very good, although it does look perhaps a little less darker than I was expecting (do not get me wrong it is not bright or anything). Opening or removing the helmet is very easy, just lift it up and you can easily get to the art book and game case that can be housed inside.

The art book itself is pretty good although not as detailed as other art books on the market. Don't get me wrong it does cover everything you expect from a videogame art book such as characters, environments, weapons, vehicles, and so on. Unfortunately however, there are no comments or introductions to the sections by the artist who worked on the game. This is somewhat disappointing since many art books tend to have commentaries by people who worked on the game, which adds to the art book and the appreciation for the game itself. Regardless, the book itself covers everything fairly well and is big enough that it should satisfy most Killzone 3 fans.

Next up is the Cloaking Helgahst Marksman figure, which is one of the better figures I have seen in a Collector's Edition. Just about every body part on the figure can be moved, from the head, arms, legs and so on. Being able to pose a figure however you want is always nice and this figure lets you do that very well. I also like how the paint job was done on the figure with it being half cloaked and half visible, a very cool touch.

Now the last item to mention is the "Super Voucher." I should probably get the bad news out of the way first. If you buy the Helghast Edition at this moment, you will no longer be able to download any of the content it provides since it expired on September 1, 2011. This is a real shame since so much content was on the "Super Voucher" including "making of" features, a soundtrack, double XP for the first 24 hours while playing multiplayer, and so on. It is hard to understand why the voucher had such a quick expiration date but that is the case. So be warned if your biggest reason for picking up this edition is the "Super Voucher" and not the other content.

All in all, the the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition is a good Collector's Edition. It would have been nice if the art book had some comments from the artist who worked on the game, and perhaps a longer amount of time for claiming the content on the "Super Voucher," but these two issues do not hurt this set too much. If you can find a good price for this Collector's Edition, I say give it a chance.

Note: (Updated 01/11/12) There are more than a few people who are reporting that despite the expiration date for the "Super Voucher" being September 2011, you can still claim the content that comes with it. I am not able to verify if this is true, but if you happen to buy the Helghast Edition of Killzone 3, it is worth checking out if the voucher still works. Regardless, I am keeping the original rating that I gave this Collector's Edition as I believe it is still a fair score for the set.

Additional Note: (08/30/13) Recently a customer in the comment section asked where they could find the "Super Voucher" in the package. I figured I would add the response here since it might be helpful to someone else. The voucher can be found in the actual game case along with the game disc and manual. Mine was right on top of the game manual. If for some reason it is not there, you may have to contact the seller or Sony directly about this to hopefully get some help.

Honest reviews on Killzone 3: Helghast Edition

What can I say that others have not. You have the specs:

*Super Voucher Soundtrack, Theme, 2 maps (Retro), Behind the scenes video, and all the 24hour unlocks (All digital in 1 code) Also note that the 24hour bonuses expire to the exact moment you entered the code. Enter it at 1pm today it expires 1pm tomorrow. Do not waste it.

*Killzone 3 Artbook (Hardcover)

*Killzone 3 Cloaking Marksmen (Covered only in plastic with no bubble wrap/Killzone 3 display box for you Mint Collectors)

*Killzone 3 Helghast Helmet (Can hold at best 2 PS3 games like Killzone 2 and 3) No the eyes DO NOT light up

If you don't have a good online connection I can not recommend this edition. This is a great collection don't get me wrong, but without a stable connection you cant download half of the goodies and cant access half of this game. The game is a longer and improved Single Player game with Co-Op options but you are fooling yourself if you convince yourself that the online portion is nothing special; on the contrary.

The game has 3 game modes and several objectives in almost every game mode, excluding Guerrilla Warfare which is a simple game of kill all that stands. Capturing points, accumulating kills, transporting items, surviving and mastering your class are the main key elements of the online multiplayer. Find what you are good at and stick with it; most likely you will have a good time when you play with what you are most comfortable with.

Do not be afraid to die. Newbies always die when they get used to a game. Ride it out for about an hour, and when you understand everything you will find yourself enjoying the online portion of the game more than the Single Player portion.

This game does have a nice story that continues 6 months into the future and flashbacks right to the point of the KillZone 2 ending bridging what happened between then and now (Almost. Minus the 6 months in between surviving).

At the end it is known that the story will continue, so if you are hoping for this to be the last of the series to make this Edition have more meaning, then I have to break it to you; it isn't.

This edition is for the fans that want some great display pieces, a well done artbook and a bunch of digital content and a 24hour edge. Is it a worth your money? Absolutely if you intend to use everything in it (like most things, why pay for more if you wont use most of it). This edition was for me because the Helmet was sizable and a great display piece, the Sniper is also another display piece of mine, and the Soundtrack I ported and burned onto a CD for a hardcopy just in case my PS3 died, and to listen to in my CD Player versus the PS3. I liked the artbook but I like it better on the computer and as a hardcopy since I like tinkering with concepts. The maps and 24hour bonuses were something that just sweetened the deal and made my 1st day of playtime very easy; the maps added replayablity (but what new maps dont?).

Figure it this way, the game at its lowest price is half of what a new game costs; fine. The Helmet and Figure are both sizable, unique, and it can not be obtained separately. The look of the Helmet and Figure is also detailed and is a fine display; and like other display items you get them because they look great and they have a long shelf life.

For the price, what I have to say is what should be remembered for all purchases (As it is for all my purchases); Its only a waste of money if I buy it and never use it.

Most people buy the stand alone because they have no desire for the rest of the extra goodies in this edition. For a collector its something that has a lot of substance to it. Its not a cheap looking edition, and the price reflects it.

If you are still on the fence about it, my only other advice is look up unboxing's on youtube.com for an idea of what it is. Made me want it more. If youtube is not your thing then maybe you need to look for pictures. This edition was put together very well, and is third only to the European Edition which got a Steel Game Case versus the Standard Case in North America, or the Limited Collector's Edition which can not be bought; with the only difference being the outer box art and the Helghast Helmet having LED glowing eyes.
