Manhunt 2 by Rockstar Games is a perfectly serviceable adventure game that holds up very well on the PSP. As the game strongly advises from the onset be sure to play these games with headphones on and preferably in a darkened environment. To do so otherwise greatly diminishes the expertly crafted mood and atmosphere that truly is the best thing about this title. As for the gameplay itself Manhunt2 is a decent, but not great, adventure romp that most players should be able to complete in 10 hours or so. The game spans 15 episodic chapters (with 1 bonus chapter unlocked after completion) that delves into the character and story of Nathan Lamb, a man with no clue as to his past and present state locked up in a psychiatric ward. Graphically, the heavily grained and filtered visual style looks really sharp on the PSP and the audio is wonderfully layered with some excellent effects and a truly magnificent ambient score.

When purchasing Manhunt 2 realize that it was modified after being threatened with an Adults Only rating meaning that the executions (one of the largest and most time consuming/exciting elements of the game) are censored with a strange blurring/coloring effect. This blurring effect gets really old, really fast especially when it completely masks everything that's happening and it is obviously an out of place tacked on addition; it's not enough to break the game, but it most definitely takes away from the experience (there's not much to be horrified or disturbed by except the executions well that and perhaps the language and bondage themes). The graphics are great, and the rest of the game is executed nicely mission areas are well developed, they load fast, there are interesting obstacles and 'puzzles' (very minor) to overcome as you move along. The AI is decent, though one wonders what kinds of shadows there are in the world of Manhunt 2, even while being thankful for their amazing powers of deception. The NPCs also say all sorts of funny things they're not comedians but you will definitely get a kick out of the things they say.

You have several feedback tools including alertness levels, noise meter and radar (based off of line of sight and noise it's not a freebie). Your view is a little restricted, but since the emphasis is on using your environment and stealth effectively (i.e. you'll have time to look around from shadows and such usually and plan your next move) it's not a big deal. The environments are interesting and well done, complete with plenty of action beyond the player's area, simply to create an immersive experience. The game saves at checkpoints automatically allowing you to progress quickly and without interruptions.

If you have the patients and interest in a horror survival game that focuses on killing in a real world setting as opposed to simply surviving or monsters and such then this is a great PSP game for you. The game recommends playing with earphones, and it truly is a better experience this way the sound effects are pretty good throughout (and the expletives are there throughout as well).

This game is not (in my opinion) particularly scary, though it does have a wonderfully dark environment and emphasis, even if the story is somewhat lacking in intensity.

This game is over the top, it's fun and it's unfortunately hampered by the fact that Rockstar Games was threatened with an AO rating. Thankfully it's still fun to play so good luck Danny.

Manhunt 2 is a game that I figured I would eventually play sometime, it wasn't at the top of my list. I had recently gotten a PSP and a Wii and wasn't sure which one to get it for, if I was going to get it at all. My brother then surprised me for Christmas and got it for me on the PSP, not knowing that I was interested in it at all. I just completed it the other day and have some things to say about it.

Now let me preface this by stating that one of my favorite game franchises of all time is the Metal Gear Solid Series (MGS). The best part about those games are the stealth elements. You hide in a corner, tap the wall, the guard patrolling the area walks over to investigate, you grab him from behind as he walks away and choke him out. You can then either stuff him in a locker, carry him around with you, or leave him there for his buddies to see and wonder "I don't remember leaving this here" It's all real fun but can be very frustrating sometimes. If you fail to choke him out then you end up in mediocre hand to hand combat where all you have have is a stun gun and you're aiming frantically for his head, which never works.

Manhunt works the same way, where you hide in a dark corner, wait for the enemy to come find you, and choke him out. Where the games differ though is that if you miss the execution, either he walks away too fast, or you don't time it correctly, the melee combat actually works pretty well. Unlike the MGS games you usually have more than a stun gun with you. In a lot of the levels you're given a shotgun, or machine gun, and you can just gun fools down. On the psp it locks on for you, so all you have to do is run though, push a button to lock on, and fire away. It was a little easy, but it was very satisfying. The levels were very long too so it didn't feel like I was blowing through the game too quickly.

The executions, if you do pull them off, are awesome. They're extremely violent and brutal, and even though they are filtered due to controversy from the ratings board, you can still tell what's going on with no problem. I have always loved Rockstar's games, from the obvious GTA games, to the lesser known Max Payne or Table Tennis games. I am new the the Manhunt franchise and will probably go pick up the original game for the xbox sometime. The story may not have been as engrossing or cinematic as the MGS games, but I found the game play to be just as tight, if not better. The graphics also looked fantastic on the PSP, I was impressed at how well some of the levels looked, probably just as good as the PS2 version. Manhunt 2 is out for the PSP, PS2, and Wii (probably will take the cake as the most violent game to ever come out on Wii). If you're in to violent stealthy games, I'd pick this one up.

The Good: Creepy unsettling atmosphere, gruesome, gory stealth kills, decent story, lots of weapons

The Bad: Censorship detracts you from the experience, story doesn't fill you in enough, most people won't be able to play the uncensored version

While this game doesn't quite live up to its controversy or hype it is a wonderful action game. You play as Daniel Lamb who escapes from an asylum trying to find out who he is and why he is there. While the story takes forever to unfold and is told in tiny bits and pieces it's there. The core game play is the stealth. While this game makes you use your skill over luck it makes for a more rewarding experience. You can hide in the shadows and sneak up on people and perform stealth kills which are gruesome and awesome to watch. There are three different levels of kills depending on how long you hold the action button down for.

Each level is more violent and gruesome and there are tons of different weapons and environmental kills to use. While the kills are somewhat censored with a grainy blurry filter over it this detracts a lot from the experience. I personally played the uncensored version because that's the only way to play. What makes this game so gruesome is if you shoot someone in the head you make a huge hole right through the middle and their brains splatter against the wall. You can saw off people's heads, smash scythes through their skulls, rip out their spines with crowbars, and even slice up their throat with a garrote wire. While not every stealth kill is gory they are bloody and look painful.

Due to Rockstar choosing the older hardware they couldn't pull off super gruesome kills where guts are flying everywhere. There is also gun play where you'll have to go out and kill people but this isn't as fun as the stealth. You'll LOVE Manhunt 2 and if you can tolerate the censorship then go for it. I'd give the censored version an 8.0 but since I played it uncensored I give it an 8.5.

Manhunt 2 is an awesome game you get to kill people in fun ways what more could you ask for, does not get too repetitive, constantly throwing new weapons at you and the story is pretty cool. Suggest it to anyone looking for a great psp game for a great price.

I played this to completion when it first came out, but didn't own the game. I picked up a copy of the GotY edition today because I wanted to play through on a harder difficulty, and also the challenge modes are the kind of thing it's fun to come back to every once in a while for 15 minutes of fun (which can easily turn into 2 hours).

This is an awesome game and I can't recommend it enough for people who haven't played it.

A couple gripes about the GotY edition:

* My saves and progress from the original version are not compatible. I'm guessing this means that the leaderboards for the challenge modes will also be separate. This is a big disappointment, as I won't be able to compete against my friends who have the original version.

* The 3D is a cool gimmick, but not quite cool enough for me to want to play the whole game that way. I turned it off after about 30 minutes.

Again, I highly recommend this game if you don't own the original, but can't say it's worth picking up if you already have Arkham Asylum.

I've been a gamer for a long time now, although not a die-hard core gamer that has to have everything. I just recently bought an XBox 360 after lots of research. And the reason I bought it was because of this game. I was at the store looking for some PS2 games and saw this advertised with trailers. I was blown away by the look of it. So now I have the GOTY edition, and it is incredible. I've only played it through once, on the easy level, but it was tremendously fun and brought Batman to a new light for me.

I've been a comic book and superhero fan for as long as I've been a gamer, but I've never been a big Batfan. This changes that however. You can fight it out, throw batarangs, use grapples, talk to Oracle, climb up on roofs, into ceilings and ventilation systems, and stalk the bad guys. You can even do the ultra cool crash through the ceiling onto the unsuspecting bad guys! Adding Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill to the voice casting was just the icing on the cake for me.

Hands down, the best video game I've ever played, on any system. You become Batman, and do all of the cool stuff he is known for. Oh, and no Robin!

So, I debated between buying this version and the collector's edition. This is the edition I chose because I read a line that said Joker is a playable character...it said this even for this 360 version of the game. I probably should have done more research, but no Joker is not. Joker is only for PS3, sadly. I was very disappointed to find I had kind of been duped by Amazon's general explanation of the game.

That being said, I did enjoy the game. It was, to be frank, fantastic. Wonderful graphics, smooth gameplay, and multiple levels, made this game very addicting. I look forward to the sequel and hope that Joker (or something of equal value) will be given to 360 owners.

Also, *DO NOT* just buy this game for the 3D. It uses green-red lenses and actually made me sick. The game looks okay, but not exactly the best with 3D. This game was still VERY fun. I highly recommend it. :)

I don't even know where to begin with this game. I'm a big superhero geek so I dig a good story involving a superhero. I don't like every piece of garbage that might pass as a "superhero" tale, but once in a while you get a really legitimate piece of gold that contains everything you want in a superhero/comic book game.

This game essentially can be broken into four parts: fighting, scarecrow sequences, riddler challenges, and exploration/plotline. The plotline really delivers on a few really awesome notes. One thing that everybody loves about a good comic book hero/superhero is the he always has a history. A superhero doesn't just pop into existence and start beating the crap out of people. They become this hero. Batman especially has this extremely rich backstory that has been built upon and delved into numerous times. Enough that it's almost common knowledge. This game truly is a love story for anyone that loves the Batman universe and mythology. The shoutouts to old villains and characters that have somewhat fallen by the wayside are amazing little tidbits that captivated me almost more than the main story or gameplay. Which leads me neatly into the next part.

The Riddler challenges are a glorious little gem that may be somewhat overlooked in most reviews. If you don't really like thinking too much and exploring the environments to find little nuances in the scenery than don't bother too much. However, if you want to take a break from the fighting and bataranging, just open up these riddles and get searching it's awesome to see these homages to old characters in the Batman mythology. Definitely a great addition. The Scarecrow sequences don't really make up a very integral part of the story, but it does help to flesh out Batman's backstory as you delve into why Bruce Wayne became Batman and what really haunts the Dark Knight.

Last of all is the fighting. I love the way that this brawler is done. The animations are fluid and there are rarely times when the character models glitch and a henchman receives a phantom blow. 99% of the animations are flawless and look as though the bad guys are getting hit. The overall mechanic to the fighting is simple to use, but really hard to master. The mixture of strike, counter, stun, and the occasional gadget make it a three ish button system. As you strike, you bring henchmen to the ground. The occasional baddy does come up and try to throw a punch, but a quick counter fixes that. Nothing feels better than stringing torgether a 30+ combo in a huge fistfight. With the addition of 3 new challenge maps and 3D the game really is awe inspiring. (The 3D of course is not even noticeable unless you have an HD TV, btw)

Overall, Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the best games I have ever laid my hands on. It deserves Game of the Year completely and delivers at every turn. A complete story, collectibles, challenges, fighting, exploration, and thinking make this game worth every cent you would pay. Definitely worth whatever you pay.

In general, superhero video games are bad adaptations of the comics on which they are based. Usually, at best they are just an average game (the only exception to this being when a superhero game has a great co-player mode, such as JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES from a few years ago). That changed with the release of BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM. I didn't have an opportunity to play the game until earlier this year. However, after having played, it is in my opinion the best superhero game ever made so far.

Taking a cue from the graphic novel of the same name, players get to play the game as Batman. The gameplay is great. Just like Batman, you have to use certain weapons to complete certain tasks and defeat different villains. There's a good mix between platform games, puzzle games, and action games. A key to making it through to the next level is using stealth; you can't just jump out of nowhere and beat up everyone in sight. To be successful, you have to stay in the shadows and sometimes wait for the right moment to strike. There's a lot of free range in the game and there are all sorts of collectibles that a person can get as you explore the asylum.

As far as the story goes, Batman is at Arkham dropping off a prisoner when the Joker sets forth his greatest plan to date: Batman is trapped in Arkham during a lockdown where all the inmates are set free. Batman battles one foe after another, including Bane, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, and Poison Ivy. Along the way you save workers who are trapped, solve riddles, and unravel the Joker's master plan. The climactic battle finds Batman facing off against the Joker that is much a battle of brawns as it is brains.

BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM is a must-play game for gamers and anyone who is a Batman fan. It's also highly recommended for anyone who likes superhero games or just enjoys a great single player game.

Happy to be the first review for this Product. After Researching for over 3 days on an item that would let me connect my Xbox 360 and my computer to the same monitor i came across 2 products that said they could fulfill what i was looking for. Orignially, was purchased for Disney DDR and Walk it out wii games. It worked great for the Disney DDR and our girls loved it until they tryed it with Walk it out. Unfortunely, it was not recogized by Walk it out game. It did slip and slide around on our hardwood floors too. I think it would be fine once they straighted out flat but it was not worth us keeping since it would not work for both games.

We recently bid and won a DDR game on ebay, unfortunately they failed to mention in the ad that the game came without the pad. So we quickly came to Amazon and ordered this generic. I expected it to be a piece of crud, but we were very happily surprised that it works just fine! My husband and I had a laugh riot trying to dance to DDR, we are both total clutzes. We did find that it slipped but that was easily remedied by putting it on top of a yoga mat. Problem solved!

For the price, this is an excellent faux ddr pad. Very happy with the purchase.

Buy Worms Armageddon

I was doubtful about this game before I purchased it, but I found it on sale, and let me just say that I'm really glad I got it. Worms is a turn-based strategy game that is definately toungue-in-cheek, so if your looking for a die-hard strategy game, look elswhere. On the other hand, if you ARE looking for a fun game that you can kill some time with and have laugh, then this is a good choice. The AI in Worms isn't that advanced, so it won't be long before you look at the terrain being a bigger challenge than the enemy worms, but it is still a blast to lay waste to the opposition. To me, this is what Gameboy titles should be: A short diversion that you can play while on the bus, waiting in a doctor's office, on a trip, etc., etc., etc. You WILL find yourself addicted to it, but you don't have to play for hours upon hours to get any deep satisfaction out of it. I do wish that there were more options and a way to save your progress, but it's still a perfect time waster (and I mean that in a good sense.)

Okay. I am a Worms Junkie. I love the game...(Worms Armageddon/World Party for PC). The Gameboy color version is about what you would expect from its primitive 8-bit processor. If you are considering buying this version, dont. The Gameboy Advance version, Worms World Party, is almost a near perfect conversion from the PC. I have the first screenshots, and it looks beautiful.

Worms Armageddon on PC is my favourite game: you just can't get enough of it! So when I saw the GBC version on the shelves, I hurried to buy it. Well, although it has some flaws, I rate it the third best Gameboy Colour game, after Pokémon Gold and Tetris DX.

What I found disappointing was the lack of weapons. You don't even get ninja rope! But all the basic ones are there, like bazooka and firepunch. You even get some extras like battleaxe and armageddon (although armageddon is far more impressive on the PC). But the worst feature in the game is the sound. Not only have they cut out the dialogue, but they have changed the music into high-pitched digital tunes that sueak and squeal throughout the whole game (that is why I play with the sound off). My only other grumble is that it's a bit easy; I clocked the whole thing in about a week.

Apart from these, the game plays really well. The graphics are outstanding for gameboy, with highly detailed and colourful stages. Also, the stage design is much better than the PC version, with more emphasis on jumping skills (I love the pirate ship!). The controls are like worms 1, where you scroll through the weapons using the a and b button. Also, you can earn new themes by winning three times in a match (there are 48 in total).

Worms is a really awesome series, and the GBC version really hits the mark, although it can be improved. All worms veterans who own a gameboy colour should go and buy it; and for all you newbies, this game makes a fun diversion and has you coming back for more!

IMO, the great thing about XBLA games getting released on disc is that you can rent these discs without having to spend your Microsoft Points to buy the full games. Sometimes you just want to play the full versions of these XBLA games for a little while but don't want to spend the money on a full blown purchase. Also, a lot of these complilation discs have a better overall value than purchasing the games individually. It's also a plus if you have multiple Xbox 360 consoles for family member's and/or friends as you don't be restricted to the DRM license that is found on the digital download versions of these XBLA games.

You even have the opportunity to recoup some of your money if you were to end up selling or trading the disc for money or another game.

I liked Bejeweled 3 but for me it's one of those games that you play for a few hours and then send back to the video store (redbox / gamefly). The disc version sells for around $20 USD or less new which is comparable to purchasing the digital versions on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. As of January 2011, Bejeweled 3 sells for 1200 MS Points and Bejeweled Blitz LIVE sells for 400 MS Points. There are no Avatar Awards for either game.

If you liked the previous Bejeweled games I think you'll like this one as well. There are a multitude of varied gamemodes and minigames to play.

Best Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - Xbox Deals

In the XBox version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe movie, the game mixes in video footage from the movie with action game fighting, coin collecting and obstacle climbing.

If you've played a platformer/adventure game before, you have a fair idea of what's involved here. You bash random objects to see if coins or special tokens emerge. You climb up trees. You kill random enemies that come at you. You get to checkpoint at spots along your path, in case death visits you. At the end of each level, you get your coins and tokens tallied up, and get a rating of how well you did.

You have an incentive to gather as much as you go the more coins you get, the more special abilities you unlock. Those skills really help you as you get into the more challenging areas of the game.

Since you have the four main characters from the book and movie, each character has his or her own special abilities. You often have to switch from character to character to get past an area having the young Lucy climb up onto objects, having the stronger Peter bash at doors or wolves. There are even combo moves where two characters interact together in order to solve a problem.

The graphics are reasonably good for the XBox platform. There are many transitions between the video cinematics and the in-game graphics which really help to ensure you feel a part of the story. If you want quick gaming, you might get frustrated there is a lot of movie to sit through, to build the atmosphere for you. However, if you really enjoy the storyline, you'll be thrilled. You get a lot of the background and interaction to give you meaning for what you're doing.

Some of the gameplay is a little more annoying than it should be. There are missions where you have to figure out a timed path. There isn't any real rhyme or reason to the path you just keep trying paths and failing until by default you end up with the correct one. Ditto to the "find the [insert object name here]" kinds of missions.

Also, the camera is *really* annoying. There are many spots where you want to turn around and examine the area, but you can't. In the modern world of gaming, there's really no reason for a fixed camera angle.

Still, for people who love the movie, this is a great, fun way to get involved in the movie storyline. There is fighting, but it's a mild style of wolf-bashing type of combat.

Bulletstorm is a breath of fresh air (or recycled from the past?) in the FPS market that's overflowing with "gritty" war shooters; that's what the developers set out to create, and I think they accomplished their goal handily.

People Can Fly brought back the old style of crazy, fun, explosive weapons that used to be a staple of the FPS genre in this case, a revolver that can fire explosive flares; a sniper rifle with bullets that you can steer; or a gun that shoots an explosive chain which can create booby traps out of objects in the environment or your enemies, and a handful of others plus the ability to kick, and the "Leash", which allows you to pull enemies toward you (setting in a temporary slow-motion effect) or launch them into the air. Combining all of these together racks up points that allow you to purchase ammo for your better weapons, charged shots, ammo capacity upgrades, and just generally aim for a high score. Creativity is a big part of the fun, but it's pretty easy to fall into a simple kick-and-then-shoot everybody regimen. Staying sharp and mixing up how you kill your foes keeps things interesting, but if you just do things the easy way then it has the chance to get stale.

Single player campaign length leaves something to be desired, as it only lasts maybe 6 to 8 hours. I didn't really keep track. But you kind of gradually get a handle on your own playstyle and learn the tricks of the game in your first playthrough, so a second playthrough at least still feels fresh, and there is Echoes mode in which you run through individual levels of the game and try to rack up a high score, plus a multiplayer mode for those so inclined; I wasn't.

The story isn't particularly riveting, but the ridiculously coarse dialogue is an... interestingly entertaining addition to the ridiculously coarse gameplay (as you should know, this is absolutely not a game for the family). The characters don't do much to garner an emotional attachment, but they do feel a bit like drinking buddies: not that reliable, but they're fun to hang around.

The game looks pretty nice. The graphics don't raise the bar, but they're certainly not dated. While the whole game has that generic Unreal Engine 3 look, the developers splashed a good amount of color into the mix so it's not just gray and brown. The character and weapon designs are still very reminiscent of Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War, so it looks a little "been-there-done-that".

The parts I didn't like aren't game-related and are only relevant to the PC version: primarily, the integration of Games for Windows Live. It took me about half an hour after I'd already installed the game to actually begin playing, although part of that was trying to figure out how to open the encrypted config files, because the options menu in-game is a joke. (No FOV settings, no option to disable mouse acceleration, and pretty much everything else that you would normally customize in a PC game.) Games for Windows Live, of course, requires an account to register the game to (at least you can use an Xbox Live account, which I already had). It also distributes game updates and patches, so right off the bat I downloaded a game update, which told me that I needed to close the game to finish installing.

Except there's no way to close the game until you get to the menu. And there's no way to get to the menu without logging into Games for Windows Live. And there's no way to log into Games for Windows Live without installing the update. And there's no way to install the update without closing the game... ad infinitum. I had to open Task Manager and force the game to close.

But once I'd sucked it up and decided to just live with the oppressive iron fist of PC publishers, the game is just a lot of fun. I still don't think I would give up keyboard and mouse just to bypass the PC gaming headache (that is, by playing on the Xbox 360) and once you get past the initial setup, Games for Windows Live stays out of the way.

If you can get past "Games for Windows Live", you'll be good to go. The DRM for PC is the one drawback to this game, and you can see that it's reflected in most one or two star ratings. But, I would have to disagree with their ratings. If I was rating GFWL I would give it a one star too. However, we are attempting to review the actual game not the crappy publisher.

The game itself is gorgeous, epic, intense, hilarious, and extremely entertaining. The only game that makes me laugh as much is probably Portal 2. The graphics definitely aren't dated. The animations and "hugeness" to everything was incredibly well-done. There's something to be said for graphics like these vs graphics seen in a game like Crysis 2. To me, Crysis 2 had incredible graphics, but it had no real style and was a pretty joyless experience to me. Bulletstorm is definitely not joyless. It's a riot. And it's pretty. For a day or two, I was a kid again and I loved it.

Of course, this game is NOT for kids. But in a small way, it almost makes you feel like you're being "naughty" just for playing it, with all of the adult language and innuendos involved. I highly recommend the game on all counts.

sometimes we play games for a challenge, sometimes we play games to escape reality, sometimes we play games for interesting plot and characters, sometimes we play games for beautiful music, visuals, and story, sometimes we play games just for fun, and this game is all about fun.

things i like about this game:

the scoring and skillshots system is very well designed and kept me hooked throughout the main game, and continues to keep me hooked in the echo mode after. it has never been that fun finding more creative ways of destroying your enemies.

gameplay is varied, from blasting a big ship at space, boarding a helicopter and shooting a huge monster from above, to remote controlling a huge gorilla robot to crush enemies below, and many more. they are not excessive and are there just to occasionally give you a break from the meat of the game, which is to find innovative and fun ways of killing enemies.

most of the time the game is at outdoors, with beautifully rendered visuals and grand scenery. i love games like this.

all of those juvenile cursing and humor. there are some cleverly written lines, and some just "memorable" lines. dick jokes are not excessive.

the plot can be dark at times but generally it is light and fun.

you can turn gore off (cursing can be turned off if you like that).

things i don't like about this game:

occasionally characters can get stuck in places. i've only experienced this twice throughout the entire game though.

the ending is sort of a cliffhanger. i understand that they were trying to set up for a sequel, which seems unlikely at the point, but still, it would be nice to have some kind of closure.

the drm is ok. i've never experienced any problem with it. and the achievements are shared with xbox and windows phone 7 games to become part of your gamerscore.

overall it is a highly entertaining title. i've never played an fps that is this fun throughout. get this game. and you will have a blast.

The initial screenshots and review of Bulletstorm turned me off. So did the opening sequence in which the main character kicks a pleading, bound prisoner into an airlock (which is promptly depressurized). I quit playing at that point, thinking I was in for the gaming equivalent of a Joel Eszterhas film, or maybe a crasser version of Duke Nukem Forever.

I was mostly right. But I started playing anyway after reading my fifth positive review. The game cost me $5. Why not?

Twenty minutes into play-attempt #2, and I no longer cared. The game was crass, mindlessly violent, and chock full of action-movie one-liners. (And since I played on PC, certain sequences -like "walking" across hanging rope ladders with my "hands" by pressing different buttons -were distractingly consolized.) The game was also ridiculously fun.

Remember fun? I have maybe 100 games in a collection built up over many years. Probably half of these are firstor third-person shooters. Many of these shooters are well produced, graphically impressive and technically brilliant, but few are *fun*. Bulletstorm is fun in the way Doom was back in 1995. Or the way Unreal Tournment was in 1999. Or the way I always wanted Serious Sam to be. Or the way the first Iron Man movie actually was.

Bulletstorm should be terrible. The storyline is hackneyed, the characters are stereotypes, the violence is ridiculous, etc., etc. But the *gameplay* is a delight, and the visuals are gorgeous. I giggled like a kid as I kicked enemies off ledges, lassoed exploding barrels and slammed them together in creative ways, shot sticky bombs into crowds of nasties and watched them ricochet off each other before erupting into a confetti of guts and armor.

I said the game was crass, and it is. But Bulletstorm pulls of an amazing trick. It rides the line of bad taste while remaining funny. I despise character banter in most games because it is tedious and rarely adds anything useful to a story, but in Bulletstorm, I felt like I was being let in on a running joke. "Yes, we are stereotypical characters in yet another save-the-world FPS. Let's have fun with this." I found myself laughing more than I'd care to admit at the in-game jokes, and the bad plot became less annoying as time passed. Again, the gameplay was the transcending factor. The weapons, the physics, the modeling were all fantastic, and managed to wring rare, fresh blood from a tired genre.

Here's the best thing I can say about Bulletstorm: I played through it in a matter of days. As an adult with a job, I usually abandon a game long before I find the time to finish it. In fact, Borderlands (another game I initially thought I'd hate) is the only other FPS I've played through in the past 3-4 years. Usually, I get 15-20 hours in and reach a tedious boss that isn't worth learning to kill, or realize I'd rather be working in my yard, or hanging out with my wife. Too many games these days are work. I do enough work *at work*. Bulletstorm bucks that trend by actually entertaining the player.

Unfortunately, there will not be a Bulletstorm II. At launch, it was priced like a console game, and hampered by the ill-conceived "Games for Windows" program, and subsequently sold very poorly. More than a year on, however, you can buy it for a song. If you like FPS games, you can spend much, much more and do much, much worse than Bulletstorm.

At first glance, this gem of 21st century Marxist-Leninist dialectic appears to be nothing more than a violent game, which tells the simple story of large, burly men who wished to be professional wrestlers, but failed the intelligence test, and took up soldiery instead.

However, upon closer examination, a critique of post-cold-war socialist capitalism quickly emerges into the light, bearing a message not simply of condemnation, but also of profound understanding and compassion for the victims and even architects of the self-swallowing feedback loops of post-consumer culture.

Not content to confine itself to the crude techniques of symbolism so beloved of earlier, Hegelian-influenced Marxist-Leninist philosophers and writers, "Bulletstorm" borrows the metafictional techniques of Borges and combines them with a Dadaist sense of literary negative space to suggest, within the readers' own sense of the proletariat, the construct it wishes to address, coupled with a self-deconstruction impelled by inevitability of process, rather than any content-oriented deliberation of intent.

For example, when a character delivers the line "I'll shoot you in the dick!", the author(s) cunningly convey the image of a consumerist society where grown men might not only be paid to sit in sound booths and practice, over and over again, their delivery of the line "I'll shoot you in the dick!", but to discuss how best it might be delivered, and even to do so while being aware of its inherent absurdity, an absurdity they must cooperate with even while perceiving it for what it is, lest they lose the income with which they feed their families, and lose their status within the Capitalist machine upon which they depend even as it destroys them from within.

Indeed, the characters, presented as crude stereotypes of steroidal man-children who are unable to discuss a simple plan of action without shouts, threats of violence, or homoerotic taunts that reek of forbidden longing, form a brilliantly revealing juxtaposition with the the presentation that the authors make of *themselves* as a bunch of graceless dimwits who are so infantilized by the capitalist impulse-gratification loop that they are unable to write a story which does not rely upon simple, raw sensation to inform its urgency.

This is the video game company as performance art in its own right, and it is brilliant.

Gone are elaborate representations and rationalizations of Capitalist-Imperialist apologetics, replaced by a raw exposure of the post-Leninist man's desire to kick an outgroup representive into a cactus, then shoot him in the testicles. Yet, at the same time, "Bullstorm" also critiques itself, and the entire Marxist-Leninist movement that it represents, by asking "Does not this reveal that man *desires* violence and imperialism, even if he must purchase their heady thrills at great cost to himself? Is International Socialism not ultimately a failure, not merely for failing to elevate man above class warfare, but for failing to realize that man does not wish to be elevated?".

Like the convict miners who rebel only to destroy themselves along with their bourgeoisie oppressors, Marxism-Leninism is shown to be, perhaps, merely another "soul of soulless conditions", which has plucked the imaginary flowers from the chain of oppression merely that the proletariat might wear the chain unadorned. "Bulletstorm" does not shy from self-analysis in this regard.

In short, "Bulletstorm" is a must-play for anyone to truly wishes to understand the modern critique of both Capitalism and Socialism.

It is a bundle that has the original game plus the squeal. There are lot of variety in both the games. The new one has levels borrowed from other EA puzzle games. Perfect for the little ones, neither kiddish nor mature. Right for the age. Lot of levels can be played with multiple people, you can just use a second wii remote. The gun is great and feels very good in the hand. Grab it when you see on sale. It is much better value than buying the original one.

I bought this for my six-year-old, who loves the Nerf products. (It's a "bonding" activity between him and his Godfather, running through my house shooting at each other.) He'd expressed interest in "shooting" games after watching his friends play Call of Duty (not happening at six!) and watching his uncle play Cabela's Big Game Hunter, but wasn't too thrilled about the idea and thought Nerf might be a good compromise. (My husband thinks I'm too cautious.)

The games are exactly what they say they are, and they're fun, but this is a little too advanced for my kid. I realize the recommended age is above six, so I don't want to rate it down for this, but I wanted other parents to be aware if they're considering this purchase for a child under eight. If your under-eight child has experience with these types of games, then Nerf will probably bring hours of enjoyment; if you're kid is like mine and hasn't ever played shooting games on a system, wait until they're a little older.

The "gun" is durable and well-made. It's survived countless attacks by my eighteen-month-old and plenty of real-life shoot fests with my son and his godfather. It's nice that the product can be used without the video game and, for that alone, is probably worth the purchase as the price goes down (provided you already have a bunch of Nerf guns and ammo at home).

As for the video games, they're a lot of fun! There's nothing special here, but I find them a decent alternative to the more violent shooting simulations. The graphics aren't remarkable, but the game play is smooth and addictive, spawning countless competitions around our house. As an adult, I prefer Big Game Hunter and COD and the like, but these games are definitely true to the "Wii" concept of family fun and my son likes them more and moer every time he tries it. His friends also love it, even though they're all pretty awful at it.

I can see this bundle lasting quite a long time!

I bought this for my son's birthday and he loves it. His teen brother and sister also play this game and they really like it too. There are 2 games on one disc. The first game is called Nerf N Strike (up to 4 players) and the other N Strike Elite(up to 2 players).

N strike is a game where you train to become a N Strike member and fight the other members to make it to the top.

Nerf N Strike Elite is a game of robot blasting action. Your friend Jackal has discovered a hidden compound full of robots that you must destroy.

In story mode you can have up 2 players and each player can select a character. The characters that you can choose from are 3 different boys and one girl character. Also, there are different guns to choose from and you can customize them.

The other mode, can also be multi player, is a blasting range where you can practice by shooting different targets.

The Nerf gun that comes with this game comes apart so that you can insert your Wii mote and use it to not only shoot but to use the red shield as a decoder. Way cool! Lol. Kind of works like the Wii zapper. The Nerf gun is also a great toy on its own. The Nerf darts whistle if they fly a bit of a distance. I printed off some targets and the kids can shoot at them.

Overall, my kids think this is a great game and lots of fun! I couldn't beat the price as Amazon had it for $7.99 Gold Box Deal!

To everyone that's buying this and it only reads movies etc but does not play games. YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS. Either you can flash the firmware for the circuit board inside the new drive , OR you can do the easier task and just take the circuit board out of your old drive and swap it with the one in your new drive. Then there is no need to flash. Just make sure you keep your old drive and take it apart and get the board disconnected from it. Once you take off the four screws and remove the cover on the old CD ROM Drive , the green PC board is right there. There is like 4 ribbon cables to remove and then its a direct replacement and fit into your new drive. Remember you have to also take out the green board in your new drive and swap it with the one in your old drive so you will have one worthless pc board from this new drive that you can not use. If you choose to flash the new board with the same coding from your old drive then it will give you two usable green boards so you will have a spare from your old drive. The mechanical parts on these cd roms are whats failing , not the pc boards inside them. Its much easier to swap the green boards than it is to flash IMO. The reason you change the boards is because the green board from your old cd rom drive has a coded serial key thats unique to your xbox360. Thats why this cd rom without the green board changed only plays movies and not games until you do this.

For those of you who are wondering how to replace your 360 dvd drive its very easy. I had a samsung and I bought this and switched it out, and it works fine. You just have to make sure to switch out the the circuit boards inside the drives, from your old drive to your new drive. It has a 'key' on it that identifies with you xbox. Other than that your good to go. This is a great buy. Oh yeah, and you don't need to flash your drive to get it to work just switch the boards...doesn't matter if its a firmware version 25 or 28 it will work.

Ok, I had already figured based on the description that this was just a Western Digital drive on which HDDHacker had been used to make it impersonate an official Microsoft Drive.

I did however expect the company to do it correctly in using the right tools, right settings, creating all the partitions and adding the files so it would work 100% like an official drive.

First they failed to do as recommended for newer WD drives, and use WD's utility to disable the power management defaults and set it to always BEFORE HACKING AS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE AFTER WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL FIRMWARE!!!

Second, if you use the drive here you will NOT have the ability to play Xbox 1 games. Backwards Compatibility is broken because they FAILED to follow all the steps and create the missing partitions via clones of an official drive. They failed to add the Backwards Compatibility files. The Backwards Compatibility installer from Microsoft will install the update but without the MISSING partitions and files the update doesn't work and you can not run ANY backwards Compatible games.

Further proof, take your fingernail and pop the shell open to see the drive is a Western Digital WD3200BEVT drive. However, if you connect it to a PC, since HDD Hacker was used to modify the drive's internal firmware to match the Security Sector information so it would look like a Microsoft drive, connecting this drive to a PC will have it report as Seagate ST932032 5AS.

So this drive essentially comes with NO WARRANTY.

They should at least do the hack correctly or stop selling this broken junk.
