This headset has a good sound and, because they are lighter than other similar headsets and they have very soft cushioned ear pads, they are extremely comfortable to wear. I have also been extremely pleased with the quality of the sound recorded from the microphone. I've used this headset for voice-over recordings, online gaming, and talking on Skype, and I've been thrilled with the quality. I've recommended this set to numerous friends and family members because of the high quality combined with the low price. However, although this set has a good sound and records very well, this set won't last very long. I bought my headset about a year ago, and it has worked splendidly for the last year. But, today I was using it to record some audio for a project and it crapped out on me. The earphones still sound fantastic, but the microphone no longer works. However, because of the cheap price and great quality, I've decided to purchase another set. Some people have reported sound problems, which also happened to my sister. I suspect that problem might be related to the long cord. The cord on this headset is about six feet long, which is great for an extended reach, but bad because it means there's a bigger chance that you're going to roll over the cord with your chair or snag it on something and yank it off your head (I believe my sister did that, which damaged the headset). So, if you're careful you may be able to avoid that problem. In my case, the mic stopped working, so I assume that the wires in the positionable microphone have become frayed or loose. Although I'd expect that to happen over time, I do not expect that to happen in just a year. However, this headset is so cheap and the quality of the sound is so good, I'm still going to purchase another set. The bottom line with this set: Fantastic sound reproduction and recording capabilities from a cheap-as-dirt headset, but you pay for that in shortened lifespan.

I decided to give the Plantroincs Gamecom 1 PC headset a try for a few reasons:

1. Good luck with other Plantronics products in the past

2. Reports of Comfort

I'm happy to say that so far they have lived up to expectations. Good quality sound and the foam pads are much more comfortable than the faux leatherette pads found on products like logitech. I can wear these comfortably for hours even though I wear glasses. Highly recommended.

Edit:

Almost 2 years later and still using the same headset. So add "durable and long lasting".

Purchased these from an Amazon partner company for less than $12 refurbished, but I believe it was just an "open box" set. I've been using them to play online for about a month now and am completely satisfied.

I trashed a set of Altec Lansing AHS615 because the inner speaker sat on my ear along with the surrounding support cushion after a couple of hours my ears started to hurt.

I can wear the Gamecom models all day without a problem and, based upon other reviews, think they may be one of the best on the market. They're also very light in weight.

Sound quality is great, decent bass and high-to-mid frequency output levels all are mixed very well.

Overall I would recommend these to anyone looking for a nice headset/mic combo that provides quality performance without being overpriced.

Honest reviews on Plantronics GAMECOM 1 PC HEADSET ( 67003-01 )

I got these headphones based on reviews i've read other places. I got them for under 20 dollars shipped and recieved them about a week later. They are very comfy and highly adjustable to fit anyones head (in fact my tower pc wears them when i am not)

I play a lot of battlefield 2 and other online games. Before the headphones i was a marginal player, but with the headphones and the built in mic, you have total immersion into the game. You can hear enemies approaching from further away that you couldnt hear before, not to mention that i hear ambient sound effects from the game that i didn't know existed. There have been times i have heard things to think that it was something in my room and it turned out to be the headphones. the sound is Excellent and i would reccommend them to anyone who plays games online. The mic is great and works well, it even folds up out of the way when you aren't using it. The bass is FANTASTIC and it makes explosions feel very loud and rumbley in your whole body it seems like.

The cord is about 10 feet long and although it is very thin and would probably break easy, i am not rough on my equipment. I think it will last long enough to get WELL over my 20 dollars worth. It also has a built in mic and volume control as well as a mic mute button in the cord. this comes in handy when you arent using the mic or when you want to mute your cursing when you get killed ;-)

Bottom line... if you play games online, get these. If you play games by yourself but want to crank the volume and play loud at night, get these. If you just want to hear the games the way they are supposed to sound, get them. I will get another set of these if they break.

Also, music is not bad, considering the price. Although there are sets that are better for music, these headphones do it all and very well. Cannot go wrong!

Well, it was a great buy for the first year. After that it started loosing sound in the right ear. I figured I could live with that. Now it looses sound in both ears on and off. I go from sound to nothing to one ear all the time. It is the most annoying thing I have ever experienced. Buy a better headset and don't spend the money twice.

Everyone knows MS over charges people for simple, simple accessories. The hard drives for the 360's are probably priced the worst. I was very skeptical when I saw this as it's 3rd party manufactured. Thoughts through my head were saying "What if I get banned from Live or worse it doesn't even work." Well fear not it works perfectly fine. I even transferred all my game data from my old Xbox Elite 120GB to this and it was smooth sailing. Games install fine on this and play fine.

DON'T OVER PAY FOR THE MICROSOFT BRANDED KIND!!

This hard drive lacks the invisible partition that allows you to play original Xbox games on your 360. It works fine for 360 games but you cannot play any original xbox games at all with this hard drive. I gave it three stars because besides backwards compatibility it works just fine.

Best Deals for 250G HDD Hard Disk Drive For Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim with USB 2.0

(Read on for the "how to" install instructions).

The price is more realistically close to what a 250gb hdd worth. 100$+ on a 250gb hdd? no thanks.

Works as a charm. you`ll feel really stupid if you went with the 100$ over this one since they do the same thing.

-Little instruction on the installation, this was my 1st time installing hdd on the slim, so obviously I tried to open the upper base\vent (like the original xbox 360), and had a problem with that. so I checked a video and noticed that it`s indeed a base\vent but it was`t the upper one, it was the bottom one. so turn your xbox slim upside down and you`ll notice a small button thingy you can push, then part of the vent will come off revealing the place where you can slide down the hdd, and look at the socket inside and you`ll know which way to insert the hdd to fit the socket. also make sure the pull up thingy is outside so if you wanted to take the hdd out you can just pull the tip thingy up.

-turn on your xbox, and go from the dashboard to system settings, and go to the 250gb hdd, and from the options you may do a format or change the name of the hdd. also you can go to the 4gb flash drive and move anything you like over to the 250gb.

have fun.

Excellent. Works great, installs like the 100.00 version and performs identically as far as I can tell. Well worth the money. Don't just buy one, by more. It can even be put into an older style Xbox 360 case, upgrade from 20 to 250 cheaper.

This Hard Disk Drive (HDD) seems to be a good product. I have used it to download some online content and it was immediately recognized by my XBOX 360 Slim model. But when I tried to play 5 older games (all of which appear on the XBOX Compatibility List), none would play. Otherwise, it installed fast and seems to work with current 360 games (my Kinect Games worked fine). I realized that Forrest's review, stating the same issue, was posted two days after I ordered mine. But others are now forewarned, if that is a desirable attribute you are expecting from your expanded 360 HDD... I will update if other issues arise.

I love college basketball, and I was exited to see another March Madness game. This year March Madness seriously takes after it's NBA Live brother, it feels very similar to NBA live with the college atmosphere to boot. Cheerleaders, fight songs, chants... But although I felt like I was playing NBA live to a point, with the announcing of Dick Vitale, some college plays to pick and a little different control setup, it does feel fresh enough to warrant a purchase, especially if you love college basketball. The players faces and likeness are pretty accurate and decent looking overall, not exact mind you, and although because of college rules, you can't use college names, but thankfully you can put them in yourself and the announcers will call their names out when you do which adds to the authenticity. Some nice create a player features are fun and college bookstore lets you buy accessories, including headbands, jerseys, socks, arm and wristbands and tons of Nike Shoes. They added old school teams with classic players --which is really nice, but they still don't have their names, so you don't have a clue who these players are. This game also offers a new mode called "college classics" you can relive classic b'ball games from the past, it's somewhat reminiscent of their NCAA Football game, only this time it's basketball. Can you change history?

All in all, I liked this game, if you're familiar with NBA live at all, you should be able to get into this game quite easily. The computer is very challenging especially when you play on a harder difficulty and play a tougher team. Highly recommended. If you want to save money though and you like Sega's game, check out ESPN College Basketball, both games are great but Sega's game is only $19.99.

I was expecting a lot more out of this game. Even after writing to EA Sports, informing them what they needed to do to make this game better, the game still lacks what it could be, or should I say what their competitor does just right?

March Madness 2005 has somewhat improved from 2004, but it still has ways to go (time for a new game engine, don't you think?). First of all, I like the new play-calling screens, that can easily be opened and operated; and I like the new time out feature as well. The Pontiac classic game challenge is very fun, too! The front menu screens are much better and readable, and the Dynasty mode is better than last year's with a neat calendar and PDA system.

But overall, the game has got to be a major disappointment for die-hard basketball fans. One thing this year is that the game player cannot export their draft classes into NBA Live. The game play is comparable to NBA Live 2005, with has better spacing, rebounding, and tip-ins. The player models are better as well, but not a significant change from MM 2004. As far as comparing this to ESPN'S College sim, which sells for just $20, there is no comparison. ESPN has much better game play and a more intuitive player-editing system than EA's. But if there is one complaint I have this year for both NBA Live and March Madness, it is the awful camera views. When you are playing a game you are either too far away or too close. And for some reason, the game does not recognize your previous setting of camera views, so you have to go back and change it. If EA would stop trying to add so much as the kitchen sink to a game and instead try to really improve the basics, it would really shine.

Until then, ESPN'S game is the way to go this season!

Right after the tournament this year I was desperate for a college basketball game. I got this one and was not disappointed but wasn't blown away either. The coaching mode leaves much to be desired. How about letting us start off as an assistant for crying out loud!! But the recruiting is okay and the gameplay is pretty good. On the hardest level on a good team's floor you can lose and will always have a hard time for example at Cameron indoor arena.

If you want a college basketball game then it's a good buy but if you're just looking for a good game in general then there are certainly better ones out there.

ncaa march madness was a great game, who cares if you dont know who the players are you can pull off upsets in the collage classics mode and win the tornament in the dynasty mode. It is a great basketball game to play with your friends and it is very entertaining by yourself

For the same reason when you buy an NCAA jersey, it doesn't have a name on the back...

The NCAA can't directly market a single player. Yes, the networks can, ala ESPN showing a little JJ Reddick picture before a Duke/UNC game. Or CBS showing Marvin Williams taking an alley-oop from Raymond Felton for the Final Four.

However, they can't pay these athletes so they can't directly market them. That's one reason why it's damn near impossible to see a college star marketing anything that isn't the NCAA and academics.

It's why Andrew Bogut or Reggie Bush can't do Wheaties commercials.

It's also the reason anyone on a 2K5 of EA Sports college sporting game-over has either graduated or in the NBA from the next year. (I know NCAA 2K has rights with the Heisman winner. As EA once did. Last year's Naismith winner, Jamar Nelson of St. Joe's, is absent from either of this year's games that feature Okafor (EA) and Childress (2K5) on their respective covers).

However, if Emeka Okafor had stayed in school, it's very likely Ben Gordon (or another NBA-player, ala Tony Allen, would've been on the cover.

Imagine the same scenario with TJ Ford replacing Carmelo Anthony on 2004.

Most know this...but many others don't. So that is your answer. It's not to be lame or lazy, it's simply the fact that NCAA can only use player numbers and their likeness (within reason of course) during their games. I imagine any potential recruits are forgotten as well for same laws/reasons.

It seems dumb, but that's the NCAA for you.

Making billions for universities, networks, and themselves...and not letting the players have anything at all.

These bad boys completely cover your ears, have head room for bigger heads, don't clamp down tightly and have awesome boom!

My fiance has a super deep voice and generally comes out as "Warble garble" on his headset, this headset picks him up clear as day and makes him sound awesome. The cord is fabricwhich is totally amazing. Its unlike anything I've ever seen, and it's finally something my cats DON'T like to chew on, haha.

All in all, awesome gaming headset!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have played with these headphones for a couple of weeks now. I use them on vent and TeamSpeak while playing various games. They are pretty comfortable, goes over the whole ear on my head and the mic sits at a good angle. I like some of the features of this mic such as:

Pros:

+ Looks cool with angular design

+ Mic folds up and stays away from your mouth when not engaged in voice chat.

+ Controls on the cord are intuitive and easy to use.

+ Good sound

Cons:

Wearing these for an extended time does get a bit uncomfortable. For short stints its fine.

Overall I recommend this headset for all gamers.

Thanks for reading my review.

So I'm writing this review with about a week and a half of use, so this is more of a first impressions than anything. I've went through an alright number of headphones and decided to try a pair of these as it's the first time Logitech released a "gaming" headset at this price.

My regular setup is either an AKG K240 or Audio-Technica AD700 hooked up to a Creative X-Fi HD paired with a Blue Snowball, but the G230 isn't a bad purchase for someone looking for a less complicated setup, and can be driven by pretty much anything. Being a pair of stereo headsets, you're not going to get the surround sound functionality; if you still want it there's the G430 or the G35 from logitech as well as headsets from other manufacturers, or you'll be using some sort of sound card to do it for you (though simulated surround sound's effectively differ from person to person). The headset looks like a toned-down version of the G35 without the buttons on the side, opting to just go for regular in-line controls. Construction seems pretty average, with the headset giving off the feeling of almost snapping if you bend it too much (though that's the case with a lot of other stuff), and the hinges that the cups swivel on feels a bit cheap; overall, a relatively decent piece of kit that sits pretty light on your head. The headset sits pretty snug on my head (though it might be a little tight for some), and the pads are relatively cool (though my ears did get a little hot after a while, I live in Florida, after all) but stiff and slightly itchy after wearing them for long periods of time. On the plus side, you can take the padding out so you can clean them occasionally, as well as potentially replacing them with different pads altogether, which you may want to do if you find them uncomfortable.

On the topic of sound, the mic picks up my voice very clearly while talking at regular volume and posed no problems over Skype or Vent calls and all my friends heard my fine. The hearing end of the headset is pretty solid as well as vocals are easily distinguishable during calls. As for sound quality, the headset is pretty balanced and lends itself well to equalization. When listening to my music collection, I can't help but notice the bass has got a little bit of "oomph" compared to the rest of the frequencies and--though it doesn't overpower the mids nor highs--, it's definitely got a bit of an edge when listening to most tracks. Of course, that isn't say that the mids and highs are bad, far from it; instrumental music comes out very clearly with good instrument separation and (from what I can tell) pretty decent soundstage, and just generally very pleasant to listen to. In-game, I played some Battlefield 3 with the X-Fi HD processing simulated surround sound and it fares quite well. However, I must note that I occasionally hear popping during my listening sessions with this headset; whether I just got a defective unit, I don't know, but it's something to consider.

In summary, this is a very good sounding headset for the price, with the main thing I can fault it with is the popping issue and the hinges for the cups feeling slightly loose seeing as how easily they rotate. If that's not a deal-breaker for you, then this is a fine addition to your setup. I would rate it 3.5 stars if I could, as the popping is definitely not something I desire, but I suppose 4 is rather fine, too.

EDIT

May 2013: Sent my headsets back and the second pair doesn't have any popping, so it was just a bad unit, I suppose.

Honest reviews on Logitech G230 Stereo Gaming Headset

Bought for son who records video game play with friends for his youtube channel. Unfortunately the analog connection on mic creates background noise on the recording, so he is not using them for that. They are comfortable however and sound quality is good. acceptable for chat but not recording.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When I got these headsets I was very happy with the ease of use. You can just plug it into your PC and it works out of the box. No need to install software and driver programs, which is nice when you want to start using your headset immediately. I found the headset to be very comfortable, which is a major factor I look for when choosing my "permanent" headset. After all, what good is a headset if you don't like to wear it! The sound quality was above average and I was very happy with it. The only con that I could find with this headset is the fact that you have to be very close to the mic for my team to hear me clearly. Although this isn't a really big deal, because you can just position the mic closer to your mouth and the problem is solved; that's why I didn't give it 4 stars. I don't feel that this is a huge design flaw, as the mic does work, it's just not super sensitive.

The follow up for the excellent original title has been launched. Will the series fall into the usual sports annual release malaise of small, incremental changes being hyped up as being huge to justify a retail price?

Fortunately, this is a new franchise (these seem to have little in common with the last gen UFC titles), so they have enough room to grow for a year or two. In this case, they've introduced a wealth of game modes. The career mode is the meat, with you going through 12 years of a career to become a Hall of Famer.

The controls have been simplified. I am able to avoid being pinned to the mat for entire rounds. True, I decided to focus on striking offense and ground defense, but the controls were still much easier to handle.

They also try to make rep more important. You can only unlock new trainers or new sparring partners when your rep and cred are high enough. The means of gaining rep, credibility, and popular are more than a bit boring. Interviews after the fight are boring. Public workouts are boring. Appearing at shows is boring. Weigh-in confrontations are boring. If these activities cannot be made more enjoyable, they shouldn't return.

The new addition of friends and rivals is a key addition. You can have feuds now and beating your rival gets you more cred than regular fights. If you train with a friend, you get stat bonuses. This is a brilliant little addition that isn't enough to hype as a major deal, but does provide a fun diversion.

Even with all of the pluses, there are major negatives. Load times are ridiculously long. 2-3 minutes to start a game is ridiculous and it seems to be consistently that slow. Visually, the fighters appear more plasticky than last year and clipping and issues of moves being stuck during transitions seems to be way more prevalent. And the irritating insistance that you pay $10 to play online if the game isn't bought new --and the request is repeated every time, even if you say no repeatedly --is infuriating. Asking once would be irritating, having to do it repeatedly is a waste of time.

I thought this game was very well thought out, and very well executed. As soon as I played the game demo off Xbox Live I was hooked. I bought a copy of it and it far outdoes the demo. I've played many of the Fight Night Games, and found them okay, but all together boring when all you do is just repeatedly knock guys out. In this game there are submissions, TKO's, and knockouts, not to mention the extensive ground game, clinch game, cage game, and striking game.

The striking system is excellent, and is ultimately more fun than any regular boxing game, with superman punches, ducking left hooks, and a host of other moves you can train your fighter to learn. The striking system while it still needs some work, you can duck, dodge, and come back with brutal counter attacks.

The submission system, is by far my favourite part of the game, I've knocked pleanty of people out, but there is something about twisting somebody's limbs, until finally screaming in pain they tap. There are so many submissions it's almost impossible for your specific fighter learn them all. The submission system is highly advanced, and is directly tied to your stamina bar. Instead of button mashing for this year's title, the new way to make them tap the mat, is the shining system, in which you rotate the right stick, as clean as fast as possible, to lock in your deadly submission. but don't be fooled submissions can be difficult, but once learned are the most enjoyable thing to do. Learning how your opponents energy and stamina bar relate to the submission, once that is learned, you can in the third round after losing the fight suddenly you put your opponent in rubber guard, and slap on a gogoplata, your opponent taps, and you watch in satisfaction, as you get up bleeding, but the Ultimate winner.

The graphics and smoothness of the game also make this amazing. When you do a flying armbar, it really has the amazing graphics as you jump up, flip your legs around your opponents head, extend your hips, and watch as they collapse and tap in agonizing pain, the graphics are amazing, and when superman punch somebody and watch there mouth guard, and half the blood in their mouth go flying you will know why.

The presentation is great in career mode, and they did a really good job of making you feel like an ultimate figher. There is so much more to this game, but you will have to buy it and find out the rest.

Best Deals for UFC Undisputed 2010 - Xbox 360

I just bought this game and I really like it. It's a lot better than the UFC undisputed 2009. This game has more options and slightly better game play. The career mode is so much better than the first game and as of now, at least, i find this game much more enjoyable than original.

As of the moment the online play is a bit iffy. When you are able to get into a game it is a lot of fun, but at the moment it's hard to find a game.

I also really like the idea of your own fight camp. the fight camp is not up yet but when it does come up I can see that being one of the best and more exciting things about this game. I also like how it looks as though the fight camps are associated with the career mode. That can make things interesting

With all the options and the leader boards and such this looks to be a Good game and I look forward to getting to know this game a bit more.

Honest reviews on UFC Undisputed 2010 - Xbox 360

I am a HUGE UFC fan! I am also a fan of Xbox 360. I got this game as a gift and i have been playing it ever since. The gameplay is incredible. The fighters look so real and their personalized moves and behaviors are very realistic. I am very happy with the changes from the 2009 version. The submissions are cooler (and much more options). The number of fighters seems unlimited. I was able to get the unlocked characters from the ultimate fighter show which was pretty cool as well. I created my own fighter and gave him my own personal attributes including my tattoos and fighting styles. The online community is soo cool, you can join training camps and even download the fight card from upcoming PPV events. I have had friends and family over to watch UFC fights and now before the fights begin, we warm up with the UFC undisputed 2010. Its such a huge hit, my wife even started playing!!

Overall, i think this an awesome game and a real tribute to any UFC fan!

Great JOB!!!

I would definately recommend this game to anyone!!!

I've played every UFC game, the PRIDEfc games, even K-1 haha. But this is by far the best MMA game ever released. The sheer number of fighters on the roster is impressive enough to get even the most casual fan to wanna drop some serious cash on this. The controls being revamped this year make the ground game much more enjoyable than 2009. My favorite aspect is probably the new career mode! Being able to control whether you respect a fighter or not adds to the realism of this game. I would give it 10 stars if I could!

It is exactly what is says it is. It will charge your controller and best of all its quite inexpensive!

the problem is that the wire is quite Short (6 feet I believe).

If you are getting this charger for PC gaming and plan to use your WIRELESS XBOX controller BE AWARE! This WILL NOT send any information through the usb cable. Therefore, without a wireless xbox receiver for PC, it will not work.

It CAN charge your controller, but it cannot be used to for wired gaming on PC with a wireless controller.

I am guessing with this item it is hit or miss. I am very happy with this purchase since it was way cheaper than the official ones. No complaints here.

Update (3/29/12): I bought these back in January and it is almost April, I have not had any problems yet, so I am very pleased with this purchase so far.

Update (12/7/12): It's been a whole year (minus one week) and I am still using this to connect my controllers. I have noticed that my rechargable batteriers (2 sets) have not been able to hold a charge any more. I am not sure if this is a result of the cable or if both of the batteries are bad now. 2) It lasts longer then my official Microsoft batteries

3) Its rechargeable. No more throwing alkaline batteries in the garbage.

4) It fits perfectly in my official Microsoft wireless Xbox controllers

5) It fits perfectly in my official Microsoft charging cradle

6) Very high quality product packaging (this says a lot!)

7) Very high quality product feel. This feels just as high quality as the Microsoft version. Its heavy, hard, clean all the signs of a quality product.

8) Good brand. I have lots of Nyko stuff for my Xbox, Wii and PS3. All of the products are of the highest quality with ZERO failure rate. I'm a value, reliability and quality oriented shopper; and Nyko goes beyond my high expectations.

What more can I say. Just buy these!

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2012

***************************

I wrote my original review on this product in December 2010. I've now owned this product for a total of 1 year, 9 months.

I purchased 3 of these batteries and they still are going strong. I don't use my xBox 360 very often, but when I do I can still count on these batteries to still have a charge. I'm glad I bought them. They look as good as the day I received them (no quality issues whatsoever). I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and the price I paid. If you're looking for a quality battery pack for your controller I definitely highly recommend these.

I'm a very pleased, very impressed, and very satisfied customer.

Thanks Nyko. We appreciate quality products at fair prices. Please keep it up!

This is an awesome little product. I got this for less than half the price of the official Microsoft product. Not having to put in new AA batteries every other day (during extended play periods) is very nice. You can charge it any way you can charge a normal one, and they even have a special stand that the controller quickly and easily nestles in to. A great buy from a great company.

Great price for excellent batteries. They last forever and they seem to click into the controller better than the official ones.

My son and I have been playing everyday for over one month on the first charge. This battery is the best ever and I really believe in this product. I never write reviews, but I had to give this product a thumbs up :O)

About this NYKO white battery pack: this is the exact form factor as the original MS recharge packs so they fit without any problems in the controller and in the recharge station. They charge relatively fast, 4-5 hours in the charger and each battery lasts for at least 15 hours of intense use (playing Borderlands 2 right now so, there's a lot of button pushing here). I usually just leave them charging overnight when the ring on the controller starts blinking.

I go through a lot of battery packs (or recharge packs, how they are called sometimes) for my Xbox 360 controllers. I like to play co-op with my friends and siblings so, the demand on the batteries is high.

This battery did die on me after 2 years but I was able to revive it and use it for another 6 month or so.

➨ A few of my observations on Xbox 360 battery packs that you might find helpful:

✔1. No matter what batteries you buy, they will work for you pretty much the same the technology inside is almost identical. They will last you about 2-3 years of casual use and about a year + if you are a serious gamer. So, aim for spending under $10 per single rechargeable battery brick this way it's cheaper than using AA batteries.

✔2. The battery's quality you receive might vary, I found (this is not a comment on this brand both batteries I got work beautifully; this is just a general observation). Don't worry if you received a dud. If you are buying them from Amazon, you are covered simply fill in the online form and send it back for a replacement. Zero cost to you if you do it fast.

✔3. Sometimes a battery might appear dead but it isn't. You can try and revive it. This is not my method, I found it somewhere long time ago, but I did find it helpful on a few occasions:

Tools: Paper clips and pliers.

Bend several paper clips into a horseshoe shape.

Please make sure the pins on the battery pack are not oxidized clean them with rubbing alcohol or scratch them gently with a sharp knife.

There are 6 pins on the brick, you'll need to use pins 2 and 5 from left to right to completely discharge the battery. Hold the bent paper clip in pliers and touch these pins. Important◀: The clip will get hot so try not to touch it with your hands! As soon as the clip heats up, change it for a different clip you prepared and repeat the process until the clips stop heating up. This would mean that the power is discharged.

You now need to reset the battery indicator circuit. First, touch together with the paper clip pins 1 and 5; then touch together pins 2 and 6. BTW, since you discharged the battery, you don't need to use pliers anymore.

It's done plug it into a charger and see if it works. While it's not a guaranteed method to revive 100% of the batteries, it does work at least on some of the batteries that otherwise show no sign of life. Give it a try if it works, you just got yourself an extension on buying a new battery.

***|EDIT|***

i assume amazon has fixed their digital downloading process of the game but if not, i leave my original post below.

like most people, the story was quite a disappointment. it really didn't connect well altogether. that said, i'm still leaving my 5-star rating because i still found the game fun to play and right now find myself really liking multiplayer. if you're planning on purchasing ME3 in anticipation of an amazing story and sequel to ME1-2, i would say be cautious, maybe if you have a friend who already has it play around with it first. otherwise, i would say try to play the game for the battle sequences and don't focus too much on the plot.

***|END EDIT|***

Don't delete the files from Amazon if you've downloaded it already!

this is for people who have downloaded the pre-load off of Amazon's digital game and software service and have no idea what to do with the files. first of all, understand that you will NOT be able to play the game until EA's release of March 6th. this is simply to get ahead of the crowd by having everything ready to go at the stroke of midnight.

so like some others, i tried to install the game from the files downloaded by amazon and like the others, failed to get anything going with it. this is my first amazon game download so i don't know if this is supposed to happen and everything magically comes together on release date. so for those of you who would like some sort of validation that you did indeed download the right files and what have you, you can do a little sneak around.

before you can try anything with ME3 you'll have to install Origin (essentially EA's version of Steam). create a user blah blah blah...

within Origin, click the settings button and from there "Redeem product code" (redemption code provided by amazon, don't forget the redeem code for the gun as well as the game)

now if you're like me, you did this and tried to install ME3, only to find Origin trying to download the entire 10 gb again. then you tried Setup.exe in the amazon-downloaded files but kept getting errors. again, no need to delete the amazon files and try redownloading the files.

here starts my little instruction list. from here on out, you have downloaded everything from amazon, installed and set up Origin, and have redeemed your product code so that ME3 shows up in your games list in Origin.

1) if you installed Origin normally, you'll have two folders in your program files folder in C: drive names "Origin" and "Origin Games" (My Computer -> Local Disk(C:) -> Program Files (or Program Files x86 for 64-bit users) -> Origin Games)

2) within "Origin Games," create a new folder and title it "Mass Effect 3" (i think it is case-sensitive)

3) now locate the files downloaded from Amazon (most likely a folder titled "Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe Version (Pre-load Available)" in whatever directory you set as default for Amazon game downloads)

4) you should have 9 files in that folder, one of which is the zip folder that contains everything (~9.7 gb)

5) unzip that file into the "Mass Effect 3" folder created in step 2 (depending on your computer speed, took me ~5 minutes) (you'll need a program that can unzip files)

6) so now your "Mass Effect 3" folder should contain the "_Installer" folder, Binaries folder, BIOGame, etc (6 folders and 1 .dll file i believe)

7) run Origin and in your "My Games" folder click download/preload/install for ME3 (i can't remember what the button said exactly)

8) the status bar should turn blue and display "preparing..." or something like that

after about 5-10 minutes, when all is said and done, you have completed everything you can for ME3 (if you try to play it you'll just get a date-check prompt).

so if you're like me and have below-broadband speeds, you did not waste several hours downloading from amazon. the above process should take 20-30 minutes depending how fast your computer is. so if you thought about re-downloading the game from amazon or Origin but instead followed my steps, you've saved yourself hours and hours of anguish.

now just wait until march 6th. i pre-emptively rated the game 5-stars because i know it's going to be that good (and to share this technique)

I adore the Mass Effect series for all of the changes to the world that happened based on my character's actions, things as grand as wether a civilization lives or dies, or if some guy gets his refund in the citadel markets. I felt like Shepard made her mark in the galaxy and earned her reputation, for better or worse. The first 99.9% of this game is the same, which why I gave this review a 3 star instead of 1. The reason it doesn't get a 5 is that all of those moments are rendered meaningless in the final minutes of gameplay. The entire plot takes a left turn, and rail-roads you into 1 of three options that change the color pallete of the final cutscene, screws-over gallactic civilization, and strands your crew on some unknown planet, never to be heard from again. There is no epilogue, no closure.

Unless something is done, I will never trust Bioware with my gaming dollars, and more importantly: my time, again. I recommend that you don't either.

Hard to put into the words how disappointed I was with this game's ending. I feel so strongly about it that it has overtaken my ability to meaningfully comment on almost every other aspect of the game. I'll speed through it.

Per usual, the combat isn't innovative for a Shooter (although being able to roll is a nice change) and the controls have interactivity and general response issues from time to time, but lifting "main powers" (Slow-Down Time, "Blinking" across the map, Invisibility, etc) from other games in genre, and then using them as the centerpieces for the six classes, provides a lot of diversity. I've always enjoyed replaying the games of the series for that reason, but I'm not sure I can endure the disappointment of not being able to alter Shepard's or the galaxy's fate in any significant way.

Music, set design, and cinematography also come through strongly, with the game world really feeling like a galaxy going through a desperate time -until the final hurdle, where the fight scenes become stratified (can't change them unlike Mass Effect 2) and generic (just lots of bland and confusing action on the screen, think beginning of Episode III in SW Prequel Trilogy).

So now we get to the part I really want to talk about. The game's ending.

SPOILERS:

So aside from the things noted in the above observations, what's wrong with the ending?

Well, first of all, the conclusion of the series is making a split second decision to resolve a tension that was never a central theme of the series -the inability of Organics and Synthetics to coexist peacefully. Obviously this theme mattered in relations between the Quarians and the Geth, but the Quarians and the Geth were only one part of a larger story, and I was never able to make much of connection between Geth and the Reapers ... because the narrative itself stressed that the Geth and Reapers were too different for there to be much of a comparison between them. In fact, Mass Effect 2 retreated from the idea Reapers are Synthetics at all, instead positing they were a species of Cyborgs. Mass Effect 3 doesn't explicitly backtrack that, but they don't affirm it either, and we seem to return to the Mass Effect 1 idea that Reapers are Synthetics, with the added stipulation (loosely coaxed from Mass Effect 2) that they function as storehouses for organic civilizations. My basic point is that the Reaper's motivations, which have been an awkward specter throughout, are brought to the fore after being a mystery for so long so we can upset the themes that were actually developed and derive a sub-par ending from that. Reminds me of the Matrix trilogy.

Now, despite the fact Shepard is capable of demonstrating that Organics and Synthetics CAN live in peace (very successfully), the ending insists that the differences between the species are too immense, and that some kind of radical transformation is required to do what has already been done. Okay. So basically the ending choices revolve around a moral choice that the game never *really* developed up to, but the tone and setting implies that it HAS, in fact, developed up to, which has confused and sickened long time fans.

So the choice itself a a bad one. The consequences are even worse. All of the real choices of the series, from the relationships you develop to the resources and allies you gather, are completely undermined -the galactic civilization you came to know and love is destroyed despite all of your efforts to save it. That's right. After 4-5 years, hundreds of dollars, and dozens of hours of playtime, there is no way to save it. Mass Relays get destroyed in all endings (ending galactic civilization as we know and love it), and something (or multiple things) you struggled and put additional effort into to saving is lost for no real reason, be it the Geth/Synthetics, Shepard himself, galactic civilization as a whole, the structural integrity of the human spirit and its innocence, etc...

Choice #1: you can destroy the Reapers, but then you also have to obliterate the Geth and other friendly AI, who it has already been established CAN coexist with Organics and have a just claim to life. I think the development team ought to have taken a glance at this and realized it would have left a bad taste in the Paragon audience's mouth, but there you go. Choice #2: Transform into a wave of energy which propagates a mutation of all beings into Organic-Synthetic hybrids, a nod to the classical science authors who enjoyed writing about huge paradigm shifts in evolution creating dramatically new modes of existence. I will concede this choice has some appeal, but it needed to be handled differently, and in a broader context of choices, as a pricey , ambiguously Utopian solution to the galaxy's problems. Choice #3: Take control of Reapers. The Renegades get the best deal of everyone; all the power they craved is theirs at last. Still, even they probably have issues with the execution.

Shepard HAVING to die/being separated from his friends is an extremely poor way to reward fans. Shepard did die in the introduction to Mass Effect 2, but only to illustrate how unstoppable he/she truly was when he/she came back to life. That was pretty cool. This seems to be the final 'death' though, at least as a being with a personal form and identity, and that should have been reserved as a PUNISHMENT or as a PRICE. Specifically, punish people with death for not completing the multitude of optional objectives, or demand it as a PRICE (like destroying the Arch Demon to be 'true' Grey Warden and destroy the threat once and for all); as I said, choice 2 (which is what I ultimately went with) had a lot of promise as an expensive UTOPIAN solution, but there should have still been an option for Shepard to ride off into the sunset into his 'ordinary' galactic civilization if that's what the player wanted.

I really don't understand the logic of this mediocre ending, especially since they seemed to be actively bending the plot to make it happen, against more natural and rewarding endings. Until the last 15-20 minutes, Mass Effect 3 was a great conclusion in some ways, and at least a comfortable one in others.

I don't see why they were so strongly against providing us with the option for a comfortable ending, when the structure of the RPG always seemed to necessitate that such an option should exist for the players who worked for/desired it.

Honest reviews on Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe Version

Hey all,

So if any of you were in the same position I was in this morning, you downloaded Mass Effect 3 from amazon.com, preloading the game in anticipation of saving the Earth, shooting guns, seeing your romance to the end, etc etc. But after I downloaded it and ran the autorun.exe in the folder that mass effect 3 was in, when origin opened up I got an installation failed notice, then swore at my computer screen and specifically at origin(since it is a piece of ____ (insert curse word here)). So, I started moving around the games files, extracting them to different places, renaming files. And after one fix I tried, I got Mass Effect 3 to install! Steps for my fix are included below:

1. Go to your program files directory, find the "origin games" folder and open it. In that folder, create a new folder called "Mass Effect 3". Next, go to the folder with the files you downloaded from the amazon servers and open it up.

2. Find the .zip folder called "Mass Effect 3" and right click on it. Select "extract All" from the drop down list and extract the files in the .zip folder and extract them to the new folder called "Mass Effect 3" in your origin games folder (the filepath should look something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3).

3. After all the files are finished extracting, run origin and log in, Mass Effect 3 should be in your games tab, ready to install!

4. ???

5. Profit!

I'd give this 5 stars but the installation is a hassle. Hope amazon customer support sees this and lets other customers know how to fix it. Hope this helps someone else who is frustrated by EA's incompetence like I was :P

Have a good day,

Mike

The BAD:

1) Brevity: in almost 20h you finish this game, while in the previous game you got 50h and still lots fun of things to do.

2) Shepard, the Stalker: you get side quests by overhearing people talk on the Citadel. Sometimes you don't even have to listen till the end! It sucks and the quests are mainly "scan planet->send probe->get item->deliver item at Citadel".

3) Mechanics underdeveloped: the scan and reaper's alertness mechanics are a very good idea, in theory. The implementation is poor. The same goes to the gun's customization bench. It is a great idea, but the interface is poor, you can't compare things properly, you can't have a big picture of available customizations.

4) If you play the vanguard class, you'll be surprised when your Shepard uses a omni knife he/she is not supposed to have in a KEY cut scene. Makes no sense.

5) Quest's log underdeveloped: I said in "2" that the side quests were not so good, but the quest log makes it even worse. When you get a quest item the quest log doesn't say you already have the item. You have to keep track of things for yourself. It's annoying.

6) Prothean day one DLC: I got this DLC for free, but it's a HUGE part of the game. Providing background history that is very important to understand things. It's a shame people who bought the regular version didn't get this for free. There's no other name to this except "d*ck move".

7) No Steam version: to play this you have to install a program called ORIGIN. Unlike Steam, this program is really bad. If you are, for example, in Japan, the program is part in English (or the language you choose in installation) and part in JAPANESE. I understand that if you are in Japan the prices will be in yens, but text in Japanese? Makes no sense.

8) Multiplayer: they said you didn't need to play multiplayer, but the truth is, if you don't complete all those bad side quests mentioned in "2", you WILL have to play MP. I can't stand the multiplayer, so my dear boyfriends took pity on me and played some games in MP so that my end options would be a little less lame.

9) End makes no sense: everything you learned in games 1 and 2 are thrown out the window. New things, characters, and dynamics are introduced in the end cut scenes and dialogue. It's like magic, but NOT. Also, it doesn't matter what you did choose along the games, the paragon/renegade points, etc. None of this have any effect in the end. You just played 3 games full of choices for the end to be exactly the same. And this same end makes no sense.

10) Multiple ends promise is a LIE: there are 8 ends that I know of. They are exactly the same, except for some subtle changes that doesn't matter that much to the big picture.

11) Adding insult to injury, after viewing the poor developed end a message appears urging you to play more and BUY DLC.

The GOOD

1) While I didn't personally like some emotional scenes (too much cliche), there were some incredible good scenes and dialogues. I would focus in the dialogues with people who Shepard is friends with. Some moments you spend with a squad mate that you're not romancing. The friendship part was GREAT. Unfortunately I cannot say the same of love interests...

2) The armor customization is nice. You can choose more colors and patterns.

3) James Vega is a fun friend. He needed a lot more work, but is a promising supportive character. I don't think he's a good choice for the spin off anime though. Garrus would be a more natural choice I guess.

4) Liara, Garrus, and other beloved character from the pervious games are all there! Too bad those nice loyalty missions are not. So, if the character is not developed by the second game, just forget further development in 3...

This will be brief and to the point as I need to get back to playing the game. Longtime gamers capable of intelligent thought will get everything they need to know out of this review. I'm mostly doing this to counter the 2-star review from the guy that can't appreciate a game if it borrows something from another game. News flash: all games nowadays borrow from previous games. It's inevitable. You shouldn't be criticizing a game for borrowing elements from other games, you should be determining whether or not those elements come together in a way that is awesome and intriguing.

Things I've noticed

+ I'm laughing a lot

+ Feels like a Mikami game (Resident Evil 4, God Hand) perfectly blended with a Suda game (Killer 7, No More Heroes)

+ Soundtrack is pretty damn great (done by Akira Yamaoka who you may recognize as the composer for the Silent Hill games)

+ Gunplay feels excellent, headshots are rewarding and encouraged

+ Garcia is agile, doesn't control like a tank

+ Upgrade system is quick and painless, adds just a touch of an RPG feel to the game

+ There's a merchant that allows you to buy ammo, drinks, and weapon upgrades

+ NO REGENERATING HEALTH (thank god)

+ Campy in the best possible way

+ Spot-on voice acting

+ Lots of nice little touches here and there

Unreal Engine is as bad as it usually is, resulting in lots of texture pop-in, screen-tearing, etc. However, they did the best they could to make this game one of the most colorful Unreal games right up there with Enslaved.

Sometimes weapon switching isn't as responsive as it should be, but this is likely something to do with the engine or the shoddy d-pad on the 360 controller.

Some closing thoughts: Shadows is roughly 10-11 hours long, I imagine it might take you a bit longer depending on how much you die and how much time you spend looking for gems and ammo. Not exactly a difficult game if you've played any of Mikami's previous games. I'm guessing EA had something to do with that. Just play the game on hard and all is remedied, you can even unlock the 'Satanic Hell' mode this way.

This game is absolutely worth your money. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have in the comments and I'll answer.

I am only a few hours into the game, but I would like to share my initial impressions so far. I will be updating this review once I am completely finished with the game. Let's get started:

First of all, please note that the "top critics" have all been giving disputing scores on this game (IGN 7, Gamespot 8.5, etc). I am pointing this out because so many gamers these days are number slaves. True, there are awful and fantastic games out there, but some games are caught in between; these games are difficult to judge by a number system, and so we need to be careful how to approach them. In the case of Shadows, a number cannot do it justice.

This game is a homage to old school grindfest/horror B movies. It's over-the-top, and it's vulgar. But this game does not bank on these factors alone. The gameplay, atmosphere, and pacing are near perfect in this game. The gameplay resembles RE4, but it is smoother. You are able to dodge enemy attacks quite easily and sprinting out of danger is straightforward. Some reviewers have complaints regarding the shooting. I have no idea where they are coming from because in the options you can change both the AIMING and CAMERA sensitivities. And yes, you have to try to aim for headshots. It is not a game where you spam the gun and expect great results. Please take aim. The atmosphere is another big plus for me. Although the world is quite linear, the overall sense of macabre, dread, and quirkiness flows well in this game. From books read out loud that explains the history of a boss fight you encountered to a cart full of decomposing corpses and dismembered body parts, this game defines itself with a sick style. Additionally, the music in this game is composed by Silent Hill's Yamaoko. It truely fleshes out the dark tone of the atmosphere, and I definately had nostalgia. Simply put, this game has a strong identity and is not ashamed of showing it. Lastly, the pacing of the game is also top-notch. Going from fight to fight is addictive because new variables and challenges are always being thrown into the mix. You need to be quick thinking and have a steady aim if you want to get out alive in these situations. And of course, dispersed within these segments, there are a steady number of cut-scenes and banter between Johnson and Garcia that will push things along.

Other thoughts:

-Graphics are good. They are not the best, but they serve the game well enough and are artistically great

-This is a very violent and vulgar game. Nudity is also included.

-There are many juvenile "dick jokes" and whatnot, but I believe it's critical that they are there. This game does not take itself seriously, and it wants you to know.

I've read many reviews regarding this game, and a lot of people were turned off by its juvenile attempts at humor. But please do not let that scare you off. Don't feel that you are too "mature" or "serious" to enjoy a game and let the game's intentional style cloud your judgement. I am a PhD student in the biomedical sciences. If a "nerdy bookworm" like me is able to appreciate the crudeness of the game (perhaps it's appealing to my inner 12 year old), then I believe many people will also be able to enjoy it. Come into this game with an open mind, and you will not leave dissapointed.

UPDATE:

I just finished the game. I clocked in at 9 hours and 11 minutes at the final save point of the game. This time does not include replaying certain sequences over due to death. Also, I did not rush though the game; I played at a moderate pace searching for upgrades and observing the environments along the way. The game consists of 5 acts with several chapters per act.

Post-game thoughts:

-Fantastic game overall, although there were several spikes in difficulty that lead to some frustrating/cheap deaths

-Using the correct weapons when there were large mixtures of enemies was quite satisfying because the game does not hold your hand stating which weapons will take down which monsters most effeciently

-Puzzles were relatively easy to solve, and they were nice breakups to the shooting

-Upgrade system is good, constant awards and light RPG elements

-Ending was funny, poignant, exciting, completely crazy hopefully there will be a sequel

Previously, I stated that the controls were very fluid. I still agree for the most part; however, there were parts during the game that I wished the controls were tighter.

Ultimately, this is a great game. I wish there was a New Game+ mode because it is well worth it to go through it again.

Best Deals for Shadows of the Damned - Xbox 360

I picked this game up on the cheap, and honestly wasn't expecting very much. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Shadows of the damned is a well made, highly enjoyable, and extremely raunchy romp through the underworld in pursuit of your girlfriend, Paula. I want to be very clear when I say that this game has raunchy humor. This is not a children's game and the content reflects this. If you dislike constant phallic references than this is definitely not the game for you. For everyone who isn't going to let a little raunch get in the way of their fun, you are in for a treat.

You play as Garcia Hotspur, demon hunter extraordinaire and his trusty wisecracking sidearm Johnson. Garcia's girlfriend, Paula, has been kidnapped by the lord of darkness and Garcia jumps straight into hell to get her back. Garcia and Johnson are wonderful company. Each are fully fleshed out and have distinct, and engaging personalities. I never got tired of hearing their good natured banter as I played through the wonderfully varied levels.

The world of shadows of the damned are beautifully different. Each stage brings something new to the table meaning that you won't be getting bored. From sides scrolling shooters, to weaving through fruit stands avoiding a masked killer, the game does a great job of keeping things fresh. To address the supposed difficulty of a certain level where you fend off waves of monsters, please don't believe the hype. It took my three tries, and that was only so I could see the humorous cutscenes exclusive to dying in those sections.

If you have ever played resident evil four, the combat system is like that except better. Garcia moves pretty well, but I did find myself wishing his roll had a little more distance to it. You have four weapons: a pistol, machine gun, shotgun, and torch for melee attacks. Don't worry though; after every boss fight you will recieve an upgrade that completely changes the way the weapon works, and always for the better. A warning for all the achievement hunters out there, once a weapon levels up you won't be able to get the achievement for the previous weapon.

Overall this is a fun game. Had this game come out in a different year, one not filled with incredible AAA titles like Arkaham city, Skyrim, and Zelda, maybe Shadows of the damned could have enjoyed more shine, but don't let that stop you from picking up the sleeper hit of the year.

Honest reviews on Shadows of the Damned - Xbox 360

Shadows of the damned is a third-person horror action title developed by Shinji Mikami and Suda51 along with music from Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka and is a truly strange, stand alone title that has earned a merit from me as being one of the best, if not THE best game of 2011. First I will go over the good as I would like this review to be short and to the point without giving anything away.

The Good:

A highly original, colorful experiece from the minds of Suda51 and Shinji Mikami with some unique boss designs and diverse backgrounds

Unusual music that fits with the atmosphere of the game and draws you in

Gameplay similar to Resident Evil 4, and trust me, it's just as addicting

Diverse puzzle sequences never get old, as something new is done each time, building upon the game's light/dark sequences

The Bad:

Repetitive enemy designs, although you don't tend to notice because the gameplay is so fluent and the animations are so well done(Will not be included for score because of personal preference)

Technical mess, with glitches happening throughout, from Garcia floating, cut-scenes skipping, and enemies freezing and doors not opening, however, the glitches aren't frequent and don't take from the overall experience, but they are still apparent

Humor is preferenced, because I personally found many of the jokes to be hilarious, while others were a bit vulgar (Will not count towards score)

Lack of unlockable content

Final Opinion:Shadows of The Damned is one of my favorite games for the Xbox 360 to date, and if you don't have a problem with sexual humor, nudity, lack of extra content, or slightly repetitive enemy designs, you should fall in love with it as well. The gameplay and boss designs are the highlights although the story and cutscenes don't deserve to be overlooked either. All in all, I'd say buy it especially at the price it's going for now.

The overall ratings for this game are spot on--this is a four star game. This isn't a big budget, high production value game, but that's okay because the game is still very fun to play if you come in with moderate expectations. The graphics are average, the color palette, very limited; the controls are fine for the most part but gets sticky at times. The game could have come out a few years ago because there isn't any innovation here. The deal-breaker for some will be the aiming mechanic. Like others have mentioned, this feels like Resident Evil 5 and it feels like you're aiming with a telescope. I don't expect auto assist with my aiming in these types of game, but they could have made it more like the Dead Space series which would have been great. Head shots are cool to pull off, but you'll be spraying bullets more often than not than pulling off precise shots. I'll also note that the "zombies" in this game are of the slow, clumsy variety rather than the ones on speed like in Left for Dead. As long as you're in constant motion in this game they'll inexplicably miss you. I played this game on normal and it was rather easy because you can basically walk/run circles around everyone. The boss battles aren't the best and are equally as easy, but they are long and dragged out. There are also health drinks you can buy at about every turn and you'll have stockpiles of currency to load up on them. There's also some side-scrolling sections, but nothing worth mentioning except that they exist. The journey will last about 8 hours or so and there is no game+ so I'll leave it to you whether it's a rental or low price pickup.

Now, it sounds like I'm negative on this game, but I'm not. I just want to set appropriate expectations. The game does a great job of creating urgency and tenseness by the use of the darkness. Your energy drains after a few seconds in the dark so you'll constantly be under duress to flip the switch back on. But there are times, you'll need to be in the dark to solve puzzles or defeat bosses so you'll have to do this tap dance going into light and dark to avoid having your energy depleted.

And I still haven't touched upon the d*ck jokes yet. The extent of your enjoyment with this game will be measured by whether you feel the pubescent humor and dialogue add to the charm of this game or is a major detraction. If you find yourself rolling your eyes more than chuckling at the game's attempts at humor, then this will be a forgettable title for you. If you view it as a late night B horror movie, you may just have a good time. All it's missing is Elvira doing the commentary.

The item that arrived was the wrong product. I ordered this especially because the picture and name are what I needed. I posted a review of the vendor saying the wrong product was sent. They contacted me quickly asking me to remove the negative comment and they would send a return package and the correct item. That was a couple weeks ago and nothing yet. I removed the negative review as asked. Would not buy anything from nor recommend them to friends.

I had the original power pack damaged by flooding in my barracks and found this replacement online. After having issues before with finding outlet space on 120v converters, I tried this one. I love the fact that it is auto voltage from 120-240 and but still maintained the US plug, that way I can still use it when I get home to the states and not have to buy another power pack, which you have to do if you get the 240v pack from Microsoft. Looks just like the original, same dimensions and has the 2 prong connector that are on the new XBOX 360 Slim.

The bottom line is I regret buying this, true it works with 220, but it is so loud I can hear the fan during any point in a movie or playing a game. It's a high pitch very fast noise coming from an internal fan.

The adapter works great, used it at 110 and 220. Its really load, loader than my proyector, xbox, ps3. No use with new XBOX 360 slim as it will make more noise than the original xbox (Has a fan inside it.)

I just got this today as soon as I picked it up, something rattled inside like a loose fan and a screw. Being crazy, I decided to give it a chance and plug it into my xbox to give it a fair test. Strangely enough it did work, but after a couple of seconds a loud death rattle started and I instantly turned it off. I am horribly disappointed and will be returning this product immediately!

I was looking for something different. The OEM Xbox 360 headset would always become uncomfortable after an hour or so

of use for me. The foam/sponge "ear-speaker cover" would bother my ear and the hard plastic opposite end would dig into the other side of my head.

I had been looking all over (including in Japan) for a cool headset. I didn't want one that also played the sound from the game (ie. stereo or 5.1 audio),

I have an audio system for that, I just wanted a better communicator headset for talking with friends.

I saw this on a "popular game review site" and immediately went and got one.

I opened it. It felt like quality plastic and rubber. It had a durable feel to it. I was excited. Heck, I could even drink and not have to move the mic.

Perfect, right?

It fit a little tight around my lower neck, but I could deal with that. The ear pod was a little big and was deeper than say a traditional iPod ear bud.

It wasn't super comfy personally, but again, I could deal with it.

Problem #1

I plug it into the controller. The plug didn't fit super tight and it did that static thingy in my ear which made it seem like the connection wasn't all there.

it felt 3rd party-ish if you know what I mean. I was expecting it to kinda plug and lock in there, but it felt too loose for my liking.

Problem #2

So I connect with some friends. They say I sounded bad, too much static, so I looked closely and noticed that it came with the mute switch turned "on" (default setting? really?).

But if the mute was on, why could they hear me?

So I switched the mute to "off".

My friends said I sounded fine with the throat mic. I was actually surprised they said they couldn't tell the difference between my voice

with the Mad Catz product and the OEM Xbox headset.

Problem #3

My friends sounded drunk/inebriated. Their voices sounded horrible. I switched over to the OEM Xbox headset and they sounded fine. The ear piece had

horrible audio. It sounded like cheap equipment.

So basically the only good things are I can drink with it on and I sound OK, but the other issues were too much for me.

I can't express enough how bummed I am that this product isn't that good.

Oh well, I will repackage it up and return it.

The search continues.

I didn't even realize this was for sale yet until I walked into my local Gamestop today and happened to stumble upon their only 1 available. Being a new type of headset I was a bit skeptical. Long story short, it works like it's suppose to.

1) The neckpiece fits nice and snug. It is not adjustable as it's suppose to be in good contact right by your throat. I'm of average build and it fit perfectly. Even if you're a bit skinnier or heavier I'm sure it will fit comfortably still.

2) The earpiece also fit nicely. Unlike most earbud headphones, these do no have different sized ear pieces to make it fit any better in your ear. The size you see on the box is the only size you get.

3) The earbud goes to your left ear which felt weird at first being that I was used to an OEM headset for the last 4 years.

I tested it right away and my brother said it doesn't sounds as clear as the OEM headset but it's still good.

Overall, I can't think of any reason not to get it. There are a lot of options for headsets out there that cost less, but none are quite as fun as this one. If you have the 30$ to spend go for it.

I loved the feel and look of this headset. I thought the idea was so awesome BUT when Im using it my friends say that I don't sound like me on it and they always tell me to turn my mic off cause there is too much hissing sounds and echo sounds. This happens all the time it never changes so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not getting this headset cause your just going to run into problems.

Honest reviews on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Throat Communicator for Xbox 360

I decided to buy this mic because I was curious as to how well it worked. With what seems to be mixed reviews online, I thought I'd find out for myself. I'll break down the good and bad points so it's very easy to see exactly where this mic shines, and where it doesn't.

The Good:

Cool design it really is fun to wear this mic because not only is it cooler than having a big over the ear mic on your head, but it is rather comfortable to wear. I can't however say that you don't notice it, because you certainly do, and I could see it being annoying for some people to wear, but it isn't for me.

Great earpiece the audio coming through the earpiece is LOUD and clear. I say LOUD because when I first used it, I had to turn the volume down about halfway because my ear almost exploded. The earpiece would be described as "one size fits most" but if you are like me and own a pair of earbuds with interchangeable rubber earpieces, you might be able to swap the stock earpiece for one of those.

Build Quality the build quality is surprisingly well done. I'm not sure if I got a newer version of the mic or what, but I don't see how anyone can claim that the headphone jack doesn't "snap" into your controller, because it does for me. I have not once had a problem with the jack falling out of the slot, but I guess if you threw your controller or something, it might come out then. You can even use this with most cell phones.

The Bad:

Poor to Average Voice Quality This is the only reason why I wouldn't give this mic a 5 star rating. While using this mic, I notice how much background noise it picks up. If you are like me and use surround sound, or just have your TV turned on loud, the mic will pick up a large amount of background noise. I especially notice that my mic indicator is on my screen while I'm blinded by flashbangs, while shooting my gun, or when explosions are nearby. If you have ever heard a cheaper bluetooth mic, then you should get a good idea of what this mic sounds like. Because of the way it is designed, the mic basically picks up everything in the room, instead of just your voice.

The voice quality really is the only negative aspect of this mic, and it is really unfortunate because it could be a must own piece of equipment if this wasn't such an issue. It doesn't bother me, but I know what it's like to be playing with someone who has a noisy mic, and its very, very annoying.

Just to comment on other opinions I have read :

When you get the mic, it is muted by default, so make sure you flip the mute switch before you use it, or no one will be able to hear it. It can also be confusing because the switch actually says "off" or "on" and in order to unmute the mic, you have to turn it to "off", which at first made me think the mic would be "off". But this is not a big deal at all once you actually realize it.

I've heard that the mute switch is hard to find, but it really isn't unless you are in a dark room. I think you could easily remember where it is, unless you have problems with things such as, remembering where buttons on your remote control or cell phone are...

I haven't had any problems with static, other than other people being able to hear "static" from background noise that this mic picks up.

I've also noticed that if I wear the piece that goes around your neck, when I wear it higher on my neck, my voice is very muffled sounding, and all my words seem to blend into one another. When wearing the mic at the base of my neck, it seems like it makes a dramatic difference in my voice quality.

Overall, I'd say that this mic is a decent alternative to the standard Xbox mic, but I don't know if I will really use it a whole lot because I just hate the fact that it picks up so much bg noise, and I know my teammates will want to punch me in the face for it.

I bought this throat communicator after some hesitation. I heard and read some bad reviews on it but my curiosity got the better of me. I have to say, I like it a lot. I'm not going to lie, it does take a little getting used to but once you have it on for about 10 mins. You don't even know it's there. One review on here says that the jack that plugs into the controller feels a little loose. That is true but it hasn't been a problem for me. One thing that is important, it matters where on your neck it is! I tried it in different spots, high on my neck, lower, ect. You get the idea. The best place is in the middle of your neck almost even with your adams apple. If I went higher or lower people said I sounded muffled or garbled. Some other complaints I seen were that the ear piece sounds like crap, to me it sounds fine. One last thing i'll mention, I had my throat communicator on and switched between my OEM and Playtonics headset while talking to a friend and they said I sounded more clear with the throat communicator. So that's my review, hope it helps on making a choice if you want to pick one up.
