It is exactly what is says it is. It will charge your controller and best of all its quite inexpensive!

the problem is that the wire is quite Short (6 feet I believe).

If you are getting this charger for PC gaming and plan to use your WIRELESS XBOX controller BE AWARE! This WILL NOT send any information through the usb cable. Therefore, without a wireless xbox receiver for PC, it will not work.

It CAN charge your controller, but it cannot be used to for wired gaming on PC with a wireless controller.

Exactly what I was looking for. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Works on standard controllers. I wish it was a little longer, but it is precisely as long as the description says it is.

I purchased this a month ago and held of reviewing just in case it broke right away as some of the other reviewers had happen. So far, it is works great. I am guessing with this item it is hit or miss. I am very happy with this purchase since it was way cheaper than the official ones. No complaints here.

Update (3/29/12): I bought these back in January and it is almost April, I have not had any problems yet, so I am very pleased with this purchase so far.

Update (12/7/12): It's been a whole year (minus one week) and I am still using this to connect my controllers. I have noticed that my rechargable batteriers (2 sets) have not been able to hold a charge any more. I am not sure if this is a result of the cable or if both of the batteries are bad now. I am to connect and play with not battery without any problem though.

The USB charging cable keeps my controller powered. I do hear a buzzing sound in my turtle beach headset when I have it plugged in. Sometimes when I am using the charging cable and the turtle beach headset, my mic goes crazy and it makes a loud noise that only others can hear until I unplug them both.

I got this last week, and worked for that week. As you can tell from the title it broke on me, but I am buying two more. I don't want to seem like a hypocrite, but not spending 15 dollars for the battery pack and cable.
