The follow up for the excellent original title has been launched. Will the series fall into the usual sports annual release malaise of small, incremental changes being hyped up as being huge to justify a retail price?

Fortunately, this is a new franchise (these seem to have little in common with the last gen UFC titles), so they have enough room to grow for a year or two. In this case, they've introduced a wealth of game modes. The career mode is the meat, with you going through 12 years of a career to become a Hall of Famer.

The controls have been simplified. I am able to avoid being pinned to the mat for entire rounds. True, I decided to focus on striking offense and ground defense, but the controls were still much easier to handle.

They also try to make rep more important. You can only unlock new trainers or new sparring partners when your rep and cred are high enough. The means of gaining rep, credibility, and popular are more than a bit boring. Interviews after the fight are boring. Public workouts are boring. Appearing at shows is boring. Weigh-in confrontations are boring. If these activities cannot be made more enjoyable, they shouldn't return.

The new addition of friends and rivals is a key addition. You can have feuds now and beating your rival gets you more cred than regular fights. If you train with a friend, you get stat bonuses. This is a brilliant little addition that isn't enough to hype as a major deal, but does provide a fun diversion.

Even with all of the pluses, there are major negatives. Load times are ridiculously long. 2-3 minutes to start a game is ridiculous and it seems to be consistently that slow. Visually, the fighters appear more plasticky than last year and clipping and issues of moves being stuck during transitions seems to be way more prevalent. And the irritating insistance that you pay $10 to play online if the game isn't bought new --and the request is repeated every time, even if you say no repeatedly --is infuriating. Asking once would be irritating, having to do it repeatedly is a waste of time.

I thought this game was very well thought out, and very well executed. As soon as I played the game demo off Xbox Live I was hooked. I bought a copy of it and it far outdoes the demo. I've played many of the Fight Night Games, and found them okay, but all together boring when all you do is just repeatedly knock guys out. In this game there are submissions, TKO's, and knockouts, not to mention the extensive ground game, clinch game, cage game, and striking game.

The striking system is excellent, and is ultimately more fun than any regular boxing game, with superman punches, ducking left hooks, and a host of other moves you can train your fighter to learn. The striking system while it still needs some work, you can duck, dodge, and come back with brutal counter attacks.

The submission system, is by far my favourite part of the game, I've knocked pleanty of people out, but there is something about twisting somebody's limbs, until finally screaming in pain they tap. There are so many submissions it's almost impossible for your specific fighter learn them all. The submission system is highly advanced, and is directly tied to your stamina bar. Instead of button mashing for this year's title, the new way to make them tap the mat, is the shining system, in which you rotate the right stick, as clean as fast as possible, to lock in your deadly submission. but don't be fooled submissions can be difficult, but once learned are the most enjoyable thing to do. Learning how your opponents energy and stamina bar relate to the submission, once that is learned, you can in the third round after losing the fight suddenly you put your opponent in rubber guard, and slap on a gogoplata, your opponent taps, and you watch in satisfaction, as you get up bleeding, but the Ultimate winner.

The graphics and smoothness of the game also make this amazing. When you do a flying armbar, it really has the amazing graphics as you jump up, flip your legs around your opponents head, extend your hips, and watch as they collapse and tap in agonizing pain, the graphics are amazing, and when superman punch somebody and watch there mouth guard, and half the blood in their mouth go flying you will know why.

The presentation is great in career mode, and they did a really good job of making you feel like an ultimate figher. There is so much more to this game, but you will have to buy it and find out the rest.

I just bought this game and I really like it. It's a lot better than the UFC undisputed 2009. This game has more options and slightly better game play. The career mode is so much better than the first game and as of now, at least, i find this game much more enjoyable than original.

As of the moment the online play is a bit iffy. When you are able to get into a game it is a lot of fun, but at the moment it's hard to find a game.

I also really like the idea of your own fight camp. the fight camp is not up yet but when it does come up I can see that being one of the best and more exciting things about this game. I also like how it looks as though the fight camps are associated with the career mode. That can make things interesting

With all the options and the leader boards and such this looks to be a Good game and I look forward to getting to know this game a bit more.

Honest reviews on UFC Undisputed 2010 - Xbox 360

I am a HUGE UFC fan! I am also a fan of Xbox 360. I got this game as a gift and i have been playing it ever since. The gameplay is incredible. The fighters look so real and their personalized moves and behaviors are very realistic. I am very happy with the changes from the 2009 version. The submissions are cooler (and much more options). The number of fighters seems unlimited. I was able to get the unlocked characters from the ultimate fighter show which was pretty cool as well. I created my own fighter and gave him my own personal attributes including my tattoos and fighting styles. The online community is soo cool, you can join training camps and even download the fight card from upcoming PPV events. I have had friends and family over to watch UFC fights and now before the fights begin, we warm up with the UFC undisputed 2010. Its such a huge hit, my wife even started playing!!

Overall, i think this an awesome game and a real tribute to any UFC fan!

Great JOB!!!

I would definately recommend this game to anyone!!!

I've played every UFC game, the PRIDEfc games, even K-1 haha. But this is by far the best MMA game ever released. The sheer number of fighters on the roster is impressive enough to get even the most casual fan to wanna drop some serious cash on this. The controls being revamped this year make the ground game much more enjoyable than 2009. My favorite aspect is probably the new career mode! Being able to control whether you respect a fighter or not adds to the realism of this game. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
