This game was too much for DLC. It contains ten new characters, new stages, tweaks to all existing characters, new modes, a new engine, and every character got at least one new move. I'm not going to say that the game is more balanced. It's too early to tell, but it does retain the feel of SFIV.

Still, there are things that are different. I've already noticed that the arc of my jumping hk with Ken is different. Also he feels overall more powerful. The new characters can really put some hurt on (Dudley especially). These new balances change the strategy of the game some (I still don't use jumping hk much; mk is just much easier to combo off of). The timing of the moves is different. I can connect with combos I couldn't connect with before. So, the game has changed in subtle, but substantial, ways for returning characters. These tweaks amount, not to an expansion, but almost a new game.

The new modes are fun. It's easier to find good matches. The replay channel is a great way to spend time. If you just want to chill with some pizza, it lets you see good gameplay, save it, manipulate it, and whatnot, while providing more passive entertainment. I haven't gotten to try things like team battle, but I suspect that they will be just as well done.

Basically, this is SFIV on steroids and corrects some of its problems. Did you like SFIV? Then this game is for you. If you didn't like it, then you probably won't like SSFIV either. If you were on the fence, give it a whirl. It's basically a whole new game for the price of an expansion. It's easily worth the price.

Great characters, graphics, sound and controls. This is a Pro Fighting Game so the controls are not as easy as Tatsunoku vs Capcom or Marvel vs Capcom 2, but that makes it very rewarding pulling off Supers and Ultras. Definitely need to practice to master this game but there is a great deal of depth to be had with the different characters, fighting styles and fighting moves.

This game is simply awesome and from what I can tell there really is no faults. You might be wondering if you own the original SF4 if you really should get this one, the answer is a easy yes. I have both version and this one is by far the better.

One area where it stands out is you have more charecters this alone is worth considering the upgrade each toon fights different and seems to fit right in. No matter what your style there is someone here you will get into and once you do, low and behold you can actually win fights with them. This is the real reason for the upgrade. The older versions Had some real bad balancing issues with some characters clearly unable to compete with others. This has all been fixed and now everyone has a chance. If your like me you hate Microsofts and Sony's controllers so make sure you grab the Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightPad Akuma it puts those two to shame though makes me miss my old Sega Saturn controller.

The bonus stages are also a nice return and they did a very good job on, though I would of liked to see a couple new ones, still no complaints.

Street Fighter is the game all other fighters have been campared to and now Capcome has ensured it stays that way. This game is in one word Super!!

The game was awesome, had very nice gameplay. I played it for hours when I got it in the mail. I've always liked the Tekken, and Mortal Kombat games when you could move around in the game but this one is more like the other Street Figther games and the very first mortal Kombat(s) and Tekken(s)

All-in-One Gorgeous Wireless 2.4 GHZ Mini Guitar - For Guitar Hero and Rock Band Series
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Its not obvious from the product description (or instructions), but this guitar will work with the WII system both with and without the WII remote attached.

Without the Wii-mote attached, you must plug in the included usb reciever into your WII system, find and press the tiny button on the usb reciever until the led for WII lights up, then flip the switch on the guitar to one of the WII modes. The nice thing about this mode is you don't need another Wii-mote. The one drawback I found was that you lose the ability to trigger the "motion activated" game controls found in some of the games.

With the Wii-mote attached, you DO NOT plug in the usb reciever, or even need to put batteries into the guitar. It functions just as any other passive Wii guitar body. One problem you will find with inserting the Wii-mote is that somewhere down the line someone in manufacturing was able to cut costs by getting dongle-plugs with the little plastic nub that the strap can go through. But the slot for the Wii-mote was obvously not designed to accomodate the plastic nub. It makes the Wii-mote stick up an eight of an inch too high, where the back cover plate rubs against the buttons making them get stuck down, or pressed randomly. Which makes game playing impossible. Fortunately, snapping off the plastic nub with a pair of pliers is a quick simple solution that anyone should be able to apply. This guitar now works just as well as my origial Band Hero version.

Great game with unlimited graphics , I own all the systems and by far best graphics when it comes to human likeness with attitude xbox one rocks

I'm not here to hate on the game because we all know the game is great and highly better than it's competitor NBA Live 14 (If you want to call it a competitor right now at this time, as far as the future hopefully they'll improve majorly). As far as 2K14 is concerned it's already noted that gameplay it's really good, despite the fact the A.I lacks a bit at times especially on defense because they give your opponent too much space on the floor, so they can come back with a quick three.

But I'm not here to talk about gameplay so much, but I'm here to speak on the microtransactions and how its ruining the game if you ask me anyways. So lets get into it shall we? For one the accessories for your myplayer (compression sleeves, calf sleeves, headbands, goggles, etc.) you have to pay for each individual item and I what I mean by this is if you buy one color of the same sleeve and want to get the same style sleeve you have to pay for another color for the same item. Secondly, the attributes that they put on the adidias items aren't even that much of a boost to your myplayer in stats wise. For instance the dwight howard sleeve that costs 5,000VC for a +2 three point shot and a color of your choosing. It's as if your paying more for the name then the stats because if you use that on your MyPlayer then you could certainly achieve more then +2 to your 3 point rating unless its almost at max status. I'm sorry, but I believe they should go back to the nba 2k12 format of giving you the accessories for free and give your choice of team color 1/2, white, black, and also add any other colorway of your choosing. Also note that the headband accessory is 200 VC more then on last gen when it was 1000VC. Thirdly, you have to buy tattoos on next gen which is insane, I'd rather just have refined imagery from last gen and keep them free. But now you have buy tattoos that aren't even that cool, soon not even the shoes that you use in your MyCareer regardless of endorsement are going to be free more than likely. Plus you can you buy your Myplayer stats to make your guy ultra beast and be a troll online. The fun of the game is not where it used to be unfortunately.

To end this review off I'd also like to note that no matter the difficulty you play on even if you play on Hall of Fame and get a 2X amount in VC it's still a hell of a grind to even aquire a lot of accessories not to mention paying for signature skills, as well as jumpshots, dunk packages, dribbles packages, etc. Even if you conserve that VC it goes pretty dang rapidly more then you know it. In the end I believe they need to up the amount you recieve or in the end you'll just have to keep spending money in order to afford certain things just to get IN GAME. Not outside in life IN GAME and also note that if 2K15 doesn't allow you to bring your Myplayer over just like the past NBA 2K Games then consider all that money you spent gone and now have to respend it on a new character.

Oh and I'm sorry for those who can't do the VC glitch in order to attain there MyTeam players that seem to give a lot of duplicate cards by the way. Plus the contracts that they you recieve from a pack aren't even a lot, 5 contracts is the highest it goes unlike MUT on Madden where it gives you 25 contracts for a player which is awesome. 13,000VC for one gold pack (Only one type of gold pack, unlike last gen where they had 3 gold packs each having different traits) also you only get one gold player out of the pack, so it really limits you on who you could get plus the possibilities of getting duplicates are tremendously high unless your extremely lucky.

I'm sorry if you guys hate me for spitting the truth, but in the end I'm just trying to let you know theres not much free left in that game other then the game modes and that's about it. Its a huge gripe for me and I don't know about the rest of you but I hope someone agrees with me.

What can I say I always loved 2k games except for the mlb 2k's but this game is very fun and addicting when you get used to the moves. Graphics are great and the gameplay is solid couldn't be happier with this nba game and ps stay away from nba live 14.

Honest reviews on NBA 2K14 - Xbox One

I absolutely love the 2K franchise. I've bought everyone since Sega Dreamcast. They improve majorly by giving us a story line for Career mode and MYGM is pretty sweet as well. I would suggest improvement on the story line by giving us more roads to choose instead of having it basically all the same. I would also like to see improved player creation and voice overs. Maybe give us a choice of dialogue.

I did a little research before upgrading my Xbox Phat to a newer Slim model.

The Slim 360 bundled with Kinect uses a proprietary extension cable.

THIS IS THE CABLE YOU NEED For Xbox 360 Slim.

Useful if your 360 does not sit near your TV, as the Kinect is required to be near the TV.

DO NOT pay Microsoft 50 for theirs when you can easily buy this 3rd party cable for under 10 WITH shipping.

I received this cable in a couple days, from a 3rd party seller. It does the job perfectly.

If you have a Phat 360 and bought the Kinect separately you need a powered USB extension cable instead.

This is NOT the cable you want for an add-on Kinect to an older model 360, as it only works with SLIM models.

I have no complaints with this cable. For my application I had to daisy-chain two of them together, and there is a little less accuracy as the Kinect tracks your movements, but its only noticeable on some games, and only barely then. Overall these cables are outstanding for the money.

This product works fine and is great for my needs. I have the black slim 360 saw reviews that it doesn't work on the older white 360. I can't tell you if two or more of these cables connected together works because one was long enough for me. I wouldn't say there is any signal loss or latency from the cable.

This adaptor is supposed to work for several systems, including XBox, Gamecube, N64 and others (where is the Dreamcast inclusion)? Hooking this up to either a N64 or Playstation (original) makes it sound horrible. It sounds like static while the game is running. It is so bad that you can not coherently hear voices or music, it all sounds very scratchy. Without the clean sound, obviously, some games are completely unplayable. I am sure it likely works that way with other systems, too. Do not be fooled by the price. Please just buy a first party rf cord for each console of your choice.

Ok i got this item but when you put an n64 system on the adapter and you turn the system on, it takes like 5 seconds for the screen to come up. After that the sound quality is very poor. I dont know about other systems but on n64 it dosent seem to work very good.

For the original XBox hook up it works great. No lines or blurring in the picture on the television. Thanks!

Honest reviews on Universal Game System RF Adapter

great product.. Thought the system was trash since it is old but was able to restore it with this product thanks

I actually disagree with the 2 reviewers on it not working for the n64 I have used this adaptor for my N64 on Zelda and Harvest Moon 64 and haven't had a problem hearing the music, sound, or voices. Also it is a very good adaptor and I am considering buying another one since you can switch between systems since I own a Cube, a Ps2, and a N64 and it does come in handy because my nephew comes out with a game for either the Gamecube or the Ps2 each weekend and thanks to this adaptor I don't have to pull out the av cords or a single adaptor for each system. In my opinion this is probably the best adaptor on the market for the old systems now I don't know if it will work for the Ps3 yet since I haven't tested it yet.

Review of Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable

Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
UPDATE:

There is a NEWER cable that looks like it can transfer data from/to BOTH old-style OR Xbox360 "Slim" Hard Drives. Search for "Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Cable" and the cable looks black instead of gray. It also has what looks like an added SATA connector for Slim style hard drives. Last I checked, that new product is here:

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Hard-Drive-Transfer-Cable/dp/B005LBDOLA/

------

I received the Xbox360 Data Transfer Cable and used it to transfer all my data from my Xbox360 Elite console to my Xbox360 Halo Reach "Slim" console.

Technically you are connecting ONLY the detached hard drive from your former console, hooking it up with this transfer cable, then connecting the other end to a USB port of the console you want to transfer data to.

The cable comes in a box that is branded/designed the way all the new Xbox360 peripherals and games are showing up this year (those green "waves" and such).

The process is very straightforward:

(I did this while the Xbox360 Slim was already on, sitting idle in the 360 dashboard):

1. Connect one specific end of the cable to the detached, non-slim 360 hard drive.

2. Connect other USB end to any available USB port in the slim system (I plugged it into one of the two front ports)

3. A prompt will appear, asking if you want to transfer TO or FROM the console.

4. You can then individually select items to move, or move everything.

One thing to note is that it transferred all my content to the Xbox360 Slim EXCEPT for games that were installed to the HDD (that is, disc games I installed to the HDD before for quicker access times). Not a big deal and it transferred everything else (some 800+ files) without incident.

Remember that if you transfer data you still may have to "transfer licenses" if you don't, then some content (such as downloaded XBLA games or other downloaded content) may not be playable if you aren't online and signed into Xbox Live. This isn't a big deal for me because I am always online when the Xbox is on. Do a google search for "xbox360 license transfer" and one of the first pages should be a link to the Microsoft page on the matter. This will move the actual 'licenses' over as well, allowing you to play your downloaded/purchased Xbox Live content when you are not signed on to the net. Additional note: you can only transfer licenses ONCE per year, technically. Then you just have to sit tight, or take it up with Microsoft via phone support (I can't vouch for having done the latter :)

Like other reviewers say, once you're done with it... well that's it :( I'll be holding onto mine as I have friends transitioning their data from one console to another. That said, save money by just pitching in for one then and using it amongst your 360-owning friends :)

I purchased this product as I was upgrading from my old 20 GB pro to the new 250 GB slim. I decided on the cable to transfer over everything instead of using memory sticks as I wanted to get the licenses for my DLC transferred over as well.

Setup was a snap as all you need to do is place the old hard drive on one end of the cable and plug the other end into a 360 with the new hard drive, then follow the prompts that come up.

It took only about 7-8 minutes for all the data to be transferred over, and everything came over intact. I did not even need to recover any account profiles that were on the old hard drive.

All in all, I was very satisfied with the results and now intend to see how long it will take to fill up my new hard drive.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable

I Bought this July 14 2010 The shipping was incredibly fast. I needed this to transfer my information from my old xbox to the new xbox and this cable was great it tranfered all my information.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable

...then you do not need this cable. If you purchase the 250GB hard drive upgrade, then you will have both the 4GB memory unit and the 250GB hard drive available for use. You can transfer data directly between the two--you do not need this cable.

I state this because the instructions with the unit are not clear. I am surprised that Microsoft would not see how financially rewarding this upgrade path would be...

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable

The Data Transfer cable sounds like a great thing to have, and it does work. Unfortunately, it is pretty limited in usefulness. The only people who really get a benefit out of this, are people with a ton of DLC. Also, you are only likely to use it one time. It isn't very likely that you will be transferring your content back and forth between Xboxes. Also, it only copies over the data. You still have to manually transfer the licenses for any of your DLC by either going to the support site, or calling Microsoft. Not that it is a difficult process. Online, it takes less than 5 minutes. You still have to re-download your DLC, but each item only takes a couple seconds, because it isn't redownloading the stuff, just the licenses associated with it.

As far as the kit itself, as I said, it works correctly and pretty intuitively. You can either tell it to copy everything, or manually select just the things you want to copy over. Restoring it onto the target Xbox is just as easy. The kit is well constructed, and I'm sure it will last me for a long time, or at least until after I upgrade my second Xbox.

I know that there are some unofficial uses for this kit, which might make this worthwhile for more people, but in general, I wouldn't bother with this kit. Just redownload your DLC and be done with it. Yes it may take longer depending on your internet connection, but you end up saving yourself the cost of this kit. If you have a bunch of DLC (in my case, all of the Fallout 3 DLC plus hundreds of Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks), and you don't mind spending a few bucks to save your self some time, then go for it.

For everyone else, I wouldn't bother.

While I neither own, nor play, any of the modern game systems that this device is targeted for, I do have quite a lot of experience with headphones and with consumer electronics. I looked at the sonic qualities of them in use as a traditional headset and I did not evaluate the microphone at all. If you are looking for a review from a gameplayer, this is not it, but if the same level of quality went into the design and implementation of the microphone as it did the sonic quality of the headsets, I think it will be perfect for even the most finicky gamer.

FIT AND FINISH

Physically the headsets have a bit of a Tron-like look to them, which may not be perfectly suited for the average 30+ year old. Thankfully the designers provided several different illumination settings for the headsets. I promptly set the illumination to be disabled -no need to waste precious battery life.

The overall fit of the headset wasn't perfect. Having it be adjustable would be a very welcome feature for those of us that have a bit bigger noggin. The ear cups didn't sit flat because they were a bit on the tight side. I ended up rotating the headband toward the back of my head and thankfully the cups can be rotated to fit your ear angle. This provided a mostly comfortable fit, but still no where near as comfortable as it could be if even slight adjustment was possible.

SETUP

Getting the headsets set up was fairly straightforward. Plug in the USB dongle to the back of your computer or game console, connect the audio output using the 1/8" mini-plug or one of the adapters provided, power on the headsets and let the dongle and headsets pair up. Instant wireless audio. The quick setup documentation left a lot to be desired, but there is a much more thorough user's manual that outlines several key troubleshooting steps as well as how to setup more complex home theater systems should you run into issues.

MUSIC PLAYBACK

THE SETUP: I sat down with a very eclectic selection of music ranging from Classical Mozart (Symphony Number 40 if you'd like to know) all the way through Journey, Dave Matthews Band, Nirvana Unplugged and Disturbed (needed something with some overdriven guitar). I've listened to several wireless speakers and headsets and I was definitely impressed by the quality of sound being generated by this sub-$100 WIRELESS headset. I was listening to uncompressed digital versions of the songs from the original retail CDs and in all cases the Bass was tight and highs were sharp, just the way I like them.

Every now and then with the more "layered" pieces, things got a little muddy with the woofer overtaking the rest of the mix and causing some sharp drops in the mid range. For example during the Dave Matthews Band song "Tripping Billies" the intro has a heavy bass drum hit over the top of the sax and violin, there was a noticeable reduction in the amplitude of the mid/higher end range of the sax/violin to accommodate the very loud output from the woofer. Wanting to investigate this more, I hard wired the headsets into the source directly and that eliminated this problem. It appears that it may be a result of some compression needed to provide enough bandwidth for the wireless connection but only the manufacturers can really confirm that. What I was noticing was something that is commonplace when listening to compressed audio and for most consumers it is a non-issue. I just wanted to indicate here (for those that care about such things) that there are some subtle differences when listening wirelessly compared to listening with a wire but it is very minimal and for casual use won't be a problem.

LITTLE THINGS

The volume adjustment on the headset was a welcome addition as there are times when you do want to adjust that output just a bit and don't want to have to grab a remote or wake your computer to do it.

With regard to the alternate modes that are available on this headset, all of my comparative tests were conducted using the "Pure Audio" setting. There are two other options which the manufacturers title as "Bass Boost" and "Immersive". When Bass Boost was enabled, the bass was sharp and generally undistorted, but overly heavy for music. This might be a desired effect for those who have a particular affinity for bass in their music, but for my tastes the "bass boost" is just too much. As PDP is a gaming centric company, I could see its use in gaming, or movies, but not for music. It is for people that have a need (or just a desire) for heavy bass and don't care about much else. The Immersive option, like the bass boost, would seemingly work better for movie/game play use, not for music. It is intended to create a psycho-acoustic virtual surround sound effect, but again, in my tests, the quality of sound output by the speakers is far better than anything that a circuit can emulate and in Pure Audio mode the headset did a very good job emulating the spatial effects created naturally during recording and intended by the audio mixers of the content. But some users may enjoy it. Thankfully, the manufacturers provided an easy color-coded system indicated on the microphone to tell which mode you are in and made it very easy to switch between them. Try them all and figure out which one works for the content you are enjoying.

WHAT ABOUT FOR JUST WATCHING TV?

For those of you that were hoping to use these headsets for casual television watching, you will really enjoy the volume adjustment so that you can listen at a louder level than your partner might enjoy. Being a closed ear design, you can even be in the same room as your partner and they could be sleeping or reading and you won't be disturbing each other. Of course you can use these headsets with a wire and that will provide the simplest form of connectivity. Unfortunately, the wire that comes with the headset is fairly short (as it is intended to be used with portable gaming consoles or Ultrabooks that may lack a USB port). If you are looking to use them as a wired headset, you will need to get a longer cable. Thankfully, the port that the manufacturer used on the headsets is a standard 1/8" Mini plug available at most local electronics stores. If your TV or amplifier doesn't have a "headphone" out plug then you will need to use the included RCA plug to 1/8" stereo plug which the manufacturer includes.

NOTE: You can only use the "pure audio" mode when using these headsets with a wire.

BUT WHAT ABOUT WIRELESS TV WATCHING?

Wireless from the TV is potentially a bit more challenging. If your TV has a USB port (many newer models do), you may be able to plug the USB dongle into that and then use the included RCA to 1/8" stereo plug (sorry no optical input available) that the manufacturer includes to hookup the audio. Our test TV is an older LCD that doesn't have any kind of USB plug available. In my tests, I discovered one could use a powered USB hub (for example this: ) to plug in the USB dongle and then hook the audio cable up to whatever audio out is available on your TV. The hub doesn't get connected to a computer, the included AC adapter provides the power for the wireless connection and then you can use these headsets without the burden of the wire following you around everywhere. As an added bonus, while using the wireless mode you then regain the ability to use the alternate Bass Boost and Immersive modes (which were not available with the wire) should you be interested in doing so.

A COMMENT ABOUT WIRELESS RANGE

The wireless range of these headsets is quite good. In very non-official and non-quantitative tests I was able to walk out of our suite of offices (about 2000 square feet) and down the hall 20-30 feet before I lost connectivity. This is obviously dependent on location of the source and devices/construction materials between the headset and the source. But in a typical residential environment a user should be able to walk around a 1,000-2,000 square foot house if the source is centrally located without loosing connection to the source.

FINAL SUMMARY

Overall these are a great set of headphones for consumption of multimedia content. Whether it is to be used with a portable device like an iPad or other game platform, or with a home theater so you don't disturb those around you, most users will find the sound delivered by these headphones to be light years beyond what they are accustomed to. Physically, the overall design (a little on the "bright" side for my traditional tastes) and the lack of size adjustment makes them difficult for me to wear comfortably both privately or in a public setting. The alternative modes may work for your particular listening needs, give them all a try and choose what works for you. But all in all, at this price point, it would be difficult to find a better sounding headset that offers all of the features and options this unit includes.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I previously had reviewed the Turtle Beach Ear Force X42 Wireless Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Headset. For a headset that normally goes for a $160, I was expecting a lot from the Turtle Beach...and it did fairly well. I was pretty disappointed by the lackluster bass performance, however.

The mic on this headset performs about as well as the Turtle Beach does. Range is also quite excellent I'm able to walk to the other side of my house and still hear what's going on without interference which is impressive given that I do have a dual-band router plus an assortment of electronics throughout the house.

Where this headset excels over the Turtle Beach, however, is in bass reproduction. For a headset that retails for $90 less than Turtle Beach's X42, it puts it to shame. It's not going to be a contender for a Beats or a Bose headset, mind you, but it really puts the Turtle Beach to shame. Playing Borderlands, I hear the satisfying low roar of a rocket launcher firing and the thud of a far off explosion which sounds puny on the Turtle Beach. The Immersive Audio mode is by far my favorite audio mode for playing games and it sounds great.

And can the X42 work on the PC? Or the Playstation? Or with a mobile phone? I think not this Afterglow actually is compatible with ALL of these devices at a fraction of the price.

Battery life promises 10 hours I have used it for 9 thus far and not a glimmer/hint of the headset's battery life waning. The lithium ion battery appears to work as advertised thus far.

As for build, this headset doesn't feel like it's going to break like the X42 does. It's pretty solid and actually withstands some deformation without breaking (don't push it though the intent is to protect damage from "casual" use, not so you can show your friends how it bends like a reed). The ear pads also feel like they are better quality with a nice comfortable leather feel. The headset does feel a bit on the small side for me, but then size 8 hats feel almost uncomfortably snug on me so I'm sure that it will feel pretty comfortable on the average head.

A brief note on the mic I like the fact that it's retractable. Having the swivel mic on the Turtle Beach set was occasionally annoying; having the ability to tuck away the mic when I'm not using it gets a big thumbs up from me.

This headset will never replace my audiophile headsets, but for gameplay, this set really puts Turtle Beach on notice...Turtle Beach is NOT the company that I remember anymore.

Highly recommended!

I love how I can walk around my house or sit on my balcony while talking on Skype, the range is great as well. The only time it ever cut out on me is when I tried walking out to my car with them on. They don't have a whole lot of adjustability, but they fit my head just fine. Not to mention that they look better than any other headset available. I got the one day shipping for three dollars with Prime and it arrived in about 12 hours which is quite impressive if you ask me. They seem to be made of quality material, so they should hold up just fine.

Honest reviews on Afterglow Universal Wireless Headset - Blue - Xbox 360

People have had different views of PDP Afterglow's products. I'm not quite an expert though because this is my first product I've bought from them. Might buy a controller later on but anyway;

Sound This Headset sounds great for its cost. The three different audios are clear, The Bass Boost really does add a nice oomph of impact depending on what game/music your listening to. On PC, I use a Equalizer to increase the effect further when I really feel like having my head rattled so much the headset technically shakes itself(though long term usage-wise..it might not be advised to abuse it.)-Another NoteThe've done well to add the Bass Boost without really distorting the Highs of the sound, though you can still notice the difference in contrast though.. The Virtual Surround Sound mode is probably what you will use with everything you listen to. It isn't no 7.1 but it does do a pretty good job of opening the "field of sound" from just your ears to your whole head to give a overall nice richness of sound.. The VSS mode, as it has on the box, will be able to obtain the highest high's out of all 3 modes and it can still capture a nice low to an extent. Technically, it's the Jack of all Trade mode. Then the Pure Audio is pretty much the normal default mode. It will always be set to it when you turn the headphones on.

Value About power usage, well, They certainly told the truth about how long they last. I haven't really ran into a loss of power problem since I've got them. Of course, I don't quite have the time to fully play them for 10-12 straight hours and if you use them in a mobile device, they don't really use power unless you manually turn the lighting effect on(because it's not automatic unless they're used on console or PC)The glow effect is awesome, of course. Some people I show them off to always ask do they sound as good as the look. All I do is let them have a test and they shut right on up lol.

Design The only thing I have a problem with is that the ear cups are quite bulky. Being 50mm drivers though, they do envelop your whole ear. And it will take a little time to get use to the feel. You can rotate the padding though until they feel right to you....and depending on the person, they may slightly squeeze your head when you first put the on. you just have to stretch them out a bit and "break them in" before they start feeling comfortable enough. Until then, you might have to take them off after a little while to give your head a rest.

Overall They sound great, they look great, they're wireless with a nice range to them. -Side NoteThe wireless transmitor has a 3.5mm jack that can go into a mobile device as well, so if you have a AC wall unit with a usb, then you can pretty much turn your mobile device into wireless as well, as sort of an alternative to bluetooth. Anyway, all I can say is that they'll have to survive the test of time of course( months to years) without messing up in some way. The Golden Rule still applies: Take care of your things. Other than that, what more can you ask of in headphones. These are all-around nice.

After over five months of using the Afterglow Universal Wireless Headset, it's time to find something else.

I purchased these after the battery in my Logitech Wireless Headset H600 Over-The-Head Design (981-000341) stopped holding a charge. The initial reviews, feature set, and reasonable price appeared to be a fine choice. It's also a relatively new offering where the choices that already existed in the category all failed in one way or another.

The good:

Insanely verstile: The headset itself is both wired and wireless. You can plug an audio source and an Xbox 360 controller directly into the headset with wires if that's what you need. It also functions as a wireless headset with its USB transmitter. The transmitter even has a stereo audio cable hanging off of it which can be used simultaneously with the USB audio adapter. In my case, I could plug it into my Mac for game audio and microphone input to TeamSpeak while having the transmitter's 3.5mm connector on my iPhone to listen to podcasts. The headset has a fade control to tweak the mixing of the two audio sources. It does all of these things very well, which is wonderful.

Great sound quality that comes through sufficiently loud: This really says it all. The quality of wireless and wired audio is perfect for gaming, listening to music, or anything else. Other wireless USB headsets I've tested were too quiet to be useful in many situations, but this headset does not have the same problem.

Excellent battery life: I easily got through two nights of hardcore gaming on a single charge. When the battery does eventually run out, you can keep it going by plugging in a mini USB cable to a source of power. You can even use the headset while it's charging. Some USB wireless headsets cannot do this.

Great wireless range: I had no trouble roaming my house while listening on this headset. It's nice.

The bad:

Bright LED lights everywhere: The wireless transmitter has a super-bright LED in it which is always on when connected and blinking when disconnected. I had to cover it up a bit with electrical tape to tone it down. The headset itself is also a beacon of blue light. Look closely at the photo of the item. Anything blue there is a bright light, including the headband.

Ugly: I won't sugar-coat this detail. You will look like an absolute jackass wearing this thing. It's a monstrous blue plastic demon with no fashion sense. It looks worse than basketball shoes. The clear plastic band sits over an inch above your head, and the remaining bulky plastic enclosure lets the world know that you only venture outside of the house when your parents yell at you to go find a job. Believe it or not, I have seen someone out in public wearing these. He did not make the headset look any better than I do.

The horrible:

The controls are digital: The volume and chat/game fade controls are non-stepping dials, but they are not analog or fine. Both jump to different volume levels as the dial is smoothly turned. It would have been better to just make them up/down buttons like an iPhone's volume controls.

The controls are buggy: Have you had your headset powered up for too long? The volume and chat/game fade controls will both stop working. Every once in a while you've gotta turn the headset off and on or you're stuck. This wouldn't be such a big deal if not for the fact that...

The mute button is also the power button: You have to hold the mute button down for two seconds to power the headset off. This is dumb. It should be a switch, or possibly the very bottom of an analog volume dial.

Uncomfortable: The clear plastic band does such a good job of holding the device on your head that it feels like a vice. The design is quite unfriendly to folks, like myself, who wear eyeglasses as it presses the frames into your skill with such force it leaves a mark afterwards. I've had to adjust the headset's position frequently to keep my head from feeling like it was going to be smashed in. As a result, I've discovered...

The clear plastic headband is not shatterproof: The clear band has developed some ominous cracks. I don't think this thing can last for a full year of regular use.

I really wish this headset were more comfortable and with better controls, because it is so perfectly versatile and has such great sound and microphone quality. Alas, it is not so. I only recommend this headset to homebound folks who have very small heads and don't wear glasses. Otherwise, you might want to reconsider your decision to try out a wireless USB headset. There are really no good options out here.

Reviews of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Camo

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Camo
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
Camo is a wingless dragon. He was born under the Tree of Life, or was it the Tree of Everscence? Whatever. Anyway, his primary attack is to shoot out concentrated life energy in the form of a small, bolt of "sun". His secondary attack is to slam his tail on the ground, creating a vine that moves forward. On the vines, there are what looks like tomatoes (they could be something else, but since their red, and circular, I'll call them tomatoes, forgive me if I'm wrong) grow and explode on enemies. His third attack makes him dive into the ground, while underground, a ring of melons grow around where he used to be. Then, the melons blast off, and EXPLODE.

These are his upgrade paths:

Vine Virtuoso: Martial Bounty(create more exploding tomatoes for each vine) Peppers of Potency(firecracker vine does more damage Proliferation(2 vines)

Melon Master: Ring of Might(makes more melons) Melon GMO(increased damage) Melon Fortress(hide in melon ring, then send them flying)

Soul Gem: orbiting sun shield(make a blast of life energy circle around you, doing damage to foes who come too close, at least that's what I think it does)

Overall, Camo is a well-rounded character. He blasts enemies with miniture suns, and can wipe out a line of enemies with the firecracker vine ability. If you're surrounded, you can rely on an orbiting sun shield, or making a ring of melons that wipes out your surrounding enemies.

By the way, don't order from here and wait impatiently for weeks, instead wait a few days, and on a Wednesday, or Friday, make a visit to Toysrus, it's when they have new shipments, therefore giving you a better chance.

I absolutely agree! Activision has not even released Camo on the skylanders universe, therefore this might mean that this small number of Camos and Warnados that have been found in Walmarts is only a teaser. I'm sure soon you'll see an outbreak in there numbers in the next coming weeks so don't waste $50 on a $9 video game toy!

You want proof it'll drop? Alright. Only a few weeks ago, Cynder was so hot off the shelves people were selling them for $40 and constantly they were being sold for that asking price, if you notice now due to Activision distributing Cynder more and more the price has dropped all the way down to $9 and I've even seen it as low as $7.99! Maek is correct, if you wait to buy camo (which I know a lot of people are dying to get him) Activison will release more and more dragging the prices down on every site! So why not wait the extra few weeks? You're pockets will be happy and hey you'll have some extra money for the next wave of Skylanders.

Best Deals for Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Camo

From what I hear, Camo is a powerhouse in Skylanders just like Warnado. He's the last Life Element character to be released before Giants comes out in the fall, but...he's pretty much impossible to find anywhere for whatever reason.

Take it from a college student who plays this game and has wasted countless hours hunting and calling: Find Camo online and buy it. Not on ebay, but either on here (Preorder is perfect) or on another site. I'd much rather lean onto the preorder here; I preordered another character on Toys R Us' website, only to have it cancelled because they apparently couldn't keep up with the demand. (I preordered VERY early during the short time it was available online)

Honest reviews on Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Camo

This, along with Warnado and Wham-Shell, are just now entering into stores.

Camo marks the completion of the Life Element character collection and he has some fairly cool abilities (not to mention that he's arguably one of the best looking characters in the game!). He creates fruits and vegetables that explode once they become ripe; a pretty hilarious power! He can also summon vines that explode with fiery effect to take out his enemies.

And once again, scalpers are snatching them up.

Keep several things in mind:

1. Activision has stepped up production and a lot of previously hard-to-find characters are becoming common sights.

2. Activision is not stupid and will not turn a profit down. THEY WILL MAKE MORE. They're not going to turn down a profit, even if it means that profit is sold to idiotic opportunists.

What is starting to become funny is that now that some of the older Skylanders are becoming more commonplace on Amazon (and elsewhere), these scalpers are being forced to reduce their prices below retail. OOPS! Keep it up and stop buying from opportunists, wherever they may lie. It's a pretty sad economy when people are making money like this off of children's toys. It's a free market, but that simply means that you don't have to buy from THEM. Be patient and buy them for retail.

GENERAL:

(PLEASE NOTE: this review is for the cable while using a PS3, I did not have a wii to test it with)

I bought this because I am deployed and I didnt want to have to buy an hdtv when I already have a 19' monitor I use for my laptop. I was pleasantly suprised at all the subtle features included with this cable. It came with a gender adapter for the cable which was a lifesaver for me because I didnt want to have to unplug the cable everytime I switched between my PS3 and Laptop. Also notable is the extension cables for the audio which even includes a headphone jack! (brilliant inclusion as far as im concerned because I can play my PS3 without waking people up!) And now the bad parts: Right away my biggest peeve was the installation. It requires you to hook the cable to a tv and your pc monitor silmantaneously when you first install it. This is frustrating mainly because they give you very little cable slack between the av plug and the vga plug. I was forced to hold the tv up with one hand and adjust the settings because I couldnt make the cords reach between the tv and monitor otherwise. And now the Ugly: Theoretically this adapter can support all the way up to 1080P. But because it is only a cable and it doesnt have its own dedicated box your images look a little washed out, the picture was also dark on both monitors I tried even after I adjusted brightness and contrast, and worst of all you have to adjust the screen with your monitor controls to make the image fit properly... something you will be doing almost every time you insert a different game or movie. 720p Gave me the best results on the two monitors I tried this cable with. (19 and 21 inch lcd monitors)

PROS:

-Cheap Solution For a Hi-Def Experience

-99% Artifact Free Image

-Inclusion of gender adapter was a nice courtesy

-Headphone jack a much appreciated add-on

-Great Value Considering you can use this for PS3 and WII

CONS:

-Image appears a little washed out, Though still noticeably improved over the regular AV cable.

-Lack of Dedicated box means you will be rescaling the image manually...often...

-Initial setup is clunky and frustrating.

-Even after adjusting you are sometimes forced to let parts of the screen be cut off.

OVERALL:

I was slightly dissapointed with the overall package. I have owned a vga adapter for Dreamcast as Well as XBX360 and both would beat the snot out of this cable. The fact that I had to manually adjust my picture every time it changed resolutions wasnt just frustrating but seemed ridiculous to me. However on the same token I am enjoying my ps3 games in high def without having to spend moolah on an hdtv. With this cable it was easy for me to switch between my stereo system or a pair of headphones which is convenient. Overall it was a decent buy for the price, but I hope some other company (or god forbid Sony themselves!) will step up and release something better in the future. Get it if you cant afford an hdtv or are short on space, etc. But if you have an hdtv handy, just spring for the official Sony Component Cables, youll be much happier I promise.

Note this cable works to perfection for I have one etc... When using it for PS3 go to display settings and select D-terminal so you can get 720p or higher display. I would recommend to stay at 720p for 1080 i and p is not suited for a analog connection. For the Wii it works wonders just like using a regular component cable for the system. All you have to do with Wii is just hook it up correctly and it should automatically be in 480p. This device is good for consumers who would like to use their PC monitors for a high-res picture.

Pros:

Works with any PC monitor that has a VGA male input. (note that this vga cable has a female output)

Can get 720p for PS3 and 480p with Wii with no hassle

Great Picture

Cons:

Sometimes when playing certain Wii games like Call of Duty World at War and Mario Kart the screen may go black when you get killed/Hit by a explosion

Image may distort if trying to do full HD on a monitor

you may have to adjust your monitor's screen to get the right picture.

Best Deals for Wii/PS3 VGA HDTV AV Cable

SUMMARY:

Purchased this cable to avoid buying a tv so that I could play a Wii. Tried first on an old generic lcd monitor, and had many problems adjusting the image location on the screen. Factory reset finally centered the image, but image was still dim with full brightness and contrast.

Next tried on my main monitor, a Samsung 2253LW. Looked excellent. Audio connectors are short, but included it an extension (female rca to FEMALE 1/8 inch.) Could not get widescreen mode to show up as widescreen, input showed up as a squished widescreen image, this is more likely an signal/monitor-issue than a cable-issue. One flaw is during Mario Kart Wii, whenever someone uses the lighting weapon, the screen goes black, as if the cable cant deal with the flashing. Other than that no problems.

IN SUMMARY:

Pros:

Works well over on a newer, higher end monitor. No other options for vga input at this price. Picture clear, bugs don't disable enjoyable play.

Cons: If you plan to plug the audio through your computer's sound card, you will need an adapter (female rca to male 1/8".) Screen goes black during Mario Kart when lighting weapon is used (suspect flashing disagrees with the cable.)

Overall works well with a new monitor if you can deal with some minor bugs, if you don't have space or money for the tv, and have a nicer monitor I would recommend it.

Honest reviews on Wii/PS3 VGA HDTV AV Cable

First I want to say that this cable came with an extra headphone adapter cable, that is not shown in the picture. So EVERYTHING you need is in the box! Be warned, that you should use headphones that have volume control built into them because there will not be a way to adjust the volume without it.

Setting up for the Wii to work with the VGA cable took a couple of steps that could be a hassle for some, however this a Wii setup issue and has NOTHING to do with the cable. The directions are printed on the back and are easy to follow so Im not sure why people are having such a hard time with using this cable.

You must change an option in the Wii settings to get the Wii to display properly out of the VGA portion of the cable. Unfortunately in order for this option to be selectable, the VGA cable must be connected to something as well. Thankfully, I have a TV downstairs that has a "VGA" input, so I connected my Wii to the TV with the Green, Red & yellow heads and also connected the VGA head to the same TV. Powered up the Wii, went to settings, selected the VGA option, I don't remember the exact wording, and then the screen went dark. This indicated to me that the Wii had successfully switched to the "VGA" output mode. I powered down the Wii and it works PERFECTLY on my LCD monitor upstairs.

Shipping was fast and the packaging was top quality.

If you need another confirmation if this will work with the Wii, it worked on mine!

Before checking Amazon, I checked with Best Buy, Fry's, and Gamestop. They all said there is no such cable for this. So I'm so glad this thing worked!

Anyway, I initially thought it wasn't going to work. I had to change the video settings on the Wii to 480p (EDTV), which was initially disabled.

Then I had to carefully re-read the instruction sheet to know what to do to enable the settings. After that, it worked on my VGA monitor flawlessly!

Hope this helps.

I am a huge fan of the PC RPG series and the Fallout "Universe". With this being said, I also purchased this game without the expectation of it being Fallout 3. After reading the Web site on I was prepared for the fact that it was a 3rd person shooter with a few quests thrown in to a Fallout type story line.

If you enjoyed Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance you have already experienced the type of game this is. It is darker, and a bit grittier than BG: DA but nonetheless I have enjoyed trashing my way through each level.

Pros:

The graphics are smooth and even with lots of enemies on the screen the action doesn't seem to slow. Lighting and shadows are very well done. Characters are distinct and memorable in most cases.

The environments are varied enough that you don't feel like you are re-playing the same area over and over again and you can destroy a good amount of environmental object i.e. bookshelves crates, windows, tables.

The variety of weapons and skill ups is good. The armor changes the look and stats of you characters accordingly.

Controls are manageable, when jumping or maneuvering through environmental obstacles they respond well and don't leave you with that frustrated "Crap! I died again because I twitched when I should have shimmied."

Cons:

The pathing of your enemies is good until they try to run away and then they tend to walk into walls and objects.

Load times seem a bit long for what you would normally expect on the Xbox.

Targeting works on single monsters or "Boss" monsters very well but don't bother with it when you are surrounded just get in close and swing away with a good melee weapon to damage multiple enemies.

This is Rated M for a reason the language is harsh in some spots and there are adult themes such as prostitution and alcohol/drug usage mixed in throughout the game. It is not intended for younger players or viewers. People buying it should expect this and it is clearly stated in the warning on the case.

All in all I enjoyed the game and if you are a fan of the Fallout or Wasteland storylines or other 3rd Person shooter/hack and slashers. I believe you will enjoy it. And, as always with a co-op capable game, grab a friend, roll up your sleeves, and have even more fun kicking tail.

If you, like me, are a harcore Fallout fan, and especially if you're, not me, one of the hardcore flamers at Interplay boards and elsewhere, you've already an opinion about this game. Far be it for me to disagree with those of you who feel this way, but for others who want an arcade shoot-em'-up, this game might be something you'd be interested in.

Okay, so it's not the Fallout that most people wanted, and shame on the publisher for taking a franchise that has no business being put into this form, but that shouldn't automatically make it one of the worst games ever made, because it's not. There's a lot of hard feelings towards this game from a lot of people but that shouldn't push "newbies" to the series automatically away.

This game, as imperfect and unwanted by many as it is, is not the total wash that many expected it would be or the POS that most assumed it would be. It has great graphics, no doubt about it, it plays smoothly, and it's great for screwing around with a buddy on a night when there's nothing else to do. It even is...gasp...fun at times. Even for those who hate Interplay for what they've done need to get over it and at least try it out. Rent it or borrow it.

For those who are new to this whole thing, or who've played Dark Alliance and liked it, I'd say rent it first. Give it a chance. And if you do like it, then by all means, spend the ten dollars and get the Fallout/Fallout2 bundle. They are two of the greatest games every made, although dated now. You will see then why there are so many people in an uproar over this game.

Bottom line: There are many haters of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steele, and with good reason, but that shouldn't turn the interested or new away automatically. Give it a spin as a rental. And by all means, whether you like it or not, get the bundle of Fallout/Fallout2, and you'll see what all of the fuss is about.

Best Deals for Fallout Brotherhood of Steel - Xbox

As a loyal fan of the Fallout series I felt it necessary to pick this game up. Compared to them, however, it falls far short. The first games were completely open ended, and allowed the character to wander where they wished. This incarnation is extremely linear and forces the player to follow a preordained path.

I have heard this game compared to the Dark Alliance series, and that is a great comparison. Both series use very linear, dungeon crawl style gameplay to progress the story. However, where Dark Alliance gives a few choices for how to proceed, Fallout:BOS holds your hand every step of the way.

I know what your thinking. I can't enjoy a game where I'm just mashing buttons while the game tells me where to go and what to do. Believe me, I felt the same way. Fallout:BOS does get repetitive and monotonous, but still holds your attention through the end.

I have heard some negative comments about the graphics of Fallout:BOS, but I found these to be unrealistic. The graphics are great, if a little out of focus. My only sore point was the inability to move the camera to a lower angle. The camera can be rotated, but is stuck staring almost straight down at your character's head. In doing this, the game designers make it impossible to get a good view of all the cool armor and weapons you can carry.

Altogether Fallout:BOS is a wonderful distraction in the mode of the Dark Alliance series. While it offers some cool features not seen in those games, like target locking and dodge maneuvers, it lacks the polish and crispness Dark Alliance has in spades. I would highly suggest anyone who loves run and gun style gameplay reminscent of Gauntlet to give this one a try. If monotonous dungeon crawls aren't your thing, though, be very wary of Fallout:BOS.

Honest reviews on Fallout Brotherhood of Steel - Xbox

Did you enjoy the "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance" games produced for Xbox? If the answer is yes, then there's a decent chance you will enjoy "Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel". Basically it is exactly the same user interface and the game is developed in just about the same manner. If you're a fan of the Fallout series, like me, then you probably picked this up, and if you enjoyed the Baldur's Gate series on Xbox, like me, then you were probably twice as excited.

I'll be honest though. The first time I put this game in I didn't have fun. I felt like I got far more lost in this game than I did with the Baldur's Gate games. Like the Baldur's Gate games, the most annoying part was dealing with terrain issues, such as falling off the edge of cliffs. Fallout does include that and having to deal with that problem almost at the beginning of the game for your second quest sequence... was kind of a turn off. However, I later returned to this game and restarted from the beginning and I had a lot more fun the second time around. I felt a lot more immersed in the Fallout universe and was very interested in progressing the game and leveling up my character. Like the Baldur's Gate games that made them so successful for me is that you can play with your friends. This was great because my girlfriend really likes the hack and slash RPG games so we were able to play through this games story line together, which made it a lot more fun than just going through the game by yourself.

The graphics are basically just like that found on any other Xbox RPG, however I really think I enjoyed the Baldur's Gate games more than this one. I also think Fallout 2 was a bit more engrossing, but this is a decent interim game while awaiting a real Fallout 3 follow-up. A lot of the missions seem fairly silly or trivial, but like any RPG there are some decent side quests to help lengthen the game even more. The weapons were very cool and I did tend to favor the melee weapons a lot more than projectile, because I find the projectile/ranged weapons incredibly difficult to aim in these kinds of games. The coolest looking armor was the Tesla armor (being a fan of Tesla I thought this was great), but I was sad to find out it was not the most powerful.

Leveling up your character gives you a lot of options to choose various abilities to increase, as in any RPG. As you can see in the game these skills are tailor made for the post apocalyptic world. However, it didn't feel like I could really take advantage of a lot of the abilities. Granted this would make me a huge power character, but it felt like I could do a lot more in the Baldur's Gate games with being able to choose more abilities. Even in the "X-Men Legends" games it felt like I could do more with the abilities by the end of the game.

"Brotherhood of Steel" brings us into the post apocalyptic world where we have to find other members of the Brotherhood and explore one of the great vaults left over from before the apocalyptic war. The environment is very well designed and definitely captures the Fallout atmosphere. As an overall RPG success this game was above average, but it certainly wasn't the best I've played. I'd only recommend this to die hard RPG or Fallout fans in general. If you're new to RPG there are better games to begin with in my opinion.

I love Star Trek in its many forms. I am 38, I grew up with Star Trek. Unfortunately,..

1. This game is difficult enough that the what fun there could have been is sucked out of it. The controller configurations are not intuitive, it takes a lot of effort to get used to them, I finally choose the second configuration. The missions are very very long, and they typically cresendo to very difficult challenges at the end. If you fail, and you will until you figure out the best strategy, you go all the way back to the beginning of the mission. What happened to intermediate save points?

2. Nice graphics but after getting over the excitement of protecting the Federation, I noticed that the missions involved the same kind of action really, and it became boring and incredibly tedious.

3. How many times has this storyline been rehashed. Let it go already.

This game looks pretty for a while, but it takes advantage of Star Trek fans. We deserve better, especially for the money.

I wanted to love this game, but I just cant.

When I finished playing this game, I thought about what could have been...maybe this could have become Star Trek, "Crimson Skies" style, with the kind of great aerial/spaceborn combat that is so rare these days. Even a Star Trek version of "Jedi Starfighter" would have been acceptable. But that's not to be. This may be the worst Trek game produced to date, with shoddy graphics, awful controls, and overall terrible gameplay.

The idea was intriguing: Borrowing from the classic Trek episode "Mirror, Mirror," which featured an alternative universe that was completely alien to Kirk and his crew, this game finds you as defender (in an admittedly cool small starfighter) of the USS Excelsior, captained by Hikaru Sulu (voicework from George Takei; that's Walter Koenig as the voice of Chekov, as well) in a hostile environment. The Terran Empire has replaced the Federation, and you must defend your ship from constant attacks. Sounds good so far...but when one's missions consist of little more than keeping attackers from weakening the Excelsior's shields or shooting asteroids in order to gather needed materials, one gets bored very, very quickly. The sub-par graphics (barely PS One calibre, even on the XBox) are distracting, with some of the worst visuals seen on any game in recent memory. Large explosions and impacts are graphically inferior, more like firecrackers than earth-shattering blasts. Character imagery (like Sulu and Chekov) is so bad that you wouldn't recognize either character if you didn't know what game you were playing. Animatics are nearly static and often clumsy. Controls are just terrible--your ship handles poorly (like piloting a refrigerator in a hurricane), and the built-in targeting system is inconsistent at best. Overall, I can find very few positive things to say about this game.

What could have been an excellent game--possibly giving Trek a leg-up into the sci-fi gaming world that Star Wars has so long dominated--ends up being a great disappointment. One may end up feeling that this game was released simply to capitalize on the Star Trek name.

This game is a real-time space fighter/mission oriented game. The back of the box bills it as more of a Capitol Ship combat game, so lets get that first part straight. There are Trekkers out there who will hate the game because of some inconsitancies in the univers, but that is besides the point.

As other reviewrs have said there isn't any way to save the game mid-mission, so if you screw up or just plain die, you have to start over at the beginning of the mission. This feature [gets really bad] when you get deep into some of the more involved levels.

The individual missions are set not to be challenging, but straight up WAY too hard. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have replayed several of the missions almost a dozen times and I was playing on the "easy" setting.

The environment graphics are quite good, spectacular even. The animations of people however leave quite a bit to be desired.

The controls are quite intuitive and easy to grasp. Not a lot of excess controls that you don't need or never use.

There is a lack of helpful targeting controls (i.e. nearest enemy). Your only options are "Nearest Capitol", "Next Target", "Previous Target" or "Next Fighter".

The cut-scenes are good, but in the middle of game-play (when a ship blows up) is not good, especially when you return from it you aren't in the same place you were. Kind of like the game continued for a couple of seconds after the scene started. This may not sound like much, but when you have an enemy locked on, a cut scene starts, and when you come back you have to track them all over again it really [is not good]!

Also, when new messages come in, parts of your on screen display/HUD (which isn't always easy to translate), is covered obscuring necessary information for several seconds (such as distance to target).

There also seems to be a lack of reference to effective ranges of weapons or minimum distances to avoid being blown-up when a starship goes. These you apparently have to find out by trial and error.

And just incase someone from Jack Of All Games reads this, next time leave the fighters out except as maybe an accessory to the ship (not player controlled other than "attack this", "defend that"). Include a save feature in the pause menu. Make the game about starship vs. starship. Fix the above listed problems of controls and game play. And finally, make it playable head to head either on the same console or also on XBox Live. Maybe turn based real-time combat would be a good idea.(...)

Honest reviews on Star Trek Shattered Universe - Xbox

That is what you will ask yourself after a few minutes of playing it. The story begins with Sulu commanding the Excelsior and when he responds to a distress beacon from Enterprise (commanded by Chekov) the ship flies into a "vortex" and is suddenly transposed into an alternate universe. The Federation is no longer a peacful utopian organization and Sulu is accused of treason. Excelsior is on the run and in the typical Star Trek fashion Sulu and the crew must battle their way through the universe until they discover a way home. Thats all fine and dandy except that the game play has little, if anything to do with the story.

The missions are silly. Your character (who remains unidentified the entire time) pilots an array of fighter craft and is usually charged with something like holding off the enemy fighters while the unseen crew of Excelsior is working on the story line. Each mission has a time limit and a vague set of instructions. Sulu is constantly baby sitting you during the mission by barking orders and changing your objective. The controls are difficult and the onscreen targeting interface is barely helpful. There is a convoluded radar and ship readout which don't help much either. To top it off the pointless cut scenes are really boring.

This game requires no thought or problem solving skill. It is a straight forward "fly around and shoot stuff" game. The story is lame and in no way related to the game play. There are no special video or audio effects, and no ability to alter the controller settings. Save your money hook up your PSone and play Star Wars Rogue Squadron. Or for a cool dog fighting game try Crimson Skies.

Some of the levels are seemingly impossible. Even with cheats like infinite shields, the game is insanely hard. In one of the levels you have a couple minutes to destroy an insane amount of ships. Don't waist your time unless you are a serious trekkie and really good with this type of game.

This is a very cool racing game. Instead of the usual pick a car, track, and race other cars, you actually cruise the streets for opponents, challenge them, and if you win use the money to tune your street machine even more.

There are alot of very innovative things in this game. You cruise the streets in your car, and flash your headlights at other tuned up cars and challenge them to a race. This makes the game very realistic. As you cruise looking for opponents there are civilian vehicles on the road to avoid. The civilian cars are realitivly smart too, if you stop in a lane and put on your hazard lights, they'll change lanes to avoid you, very realistic. You can upgrade your car many ways from adding ground effects to stickers to wheels and horsepower upgrades. The cars are not named (like honda civic, mitsubishi eclipse etc.) they have numbers instead, but are still recognizable to their real life counterparts. There are a TON of rival gangs to race, and a variety of other modes like time attack, and free run.

Although the game is a great new take on racing, the graphics are nothing special. When compared to gran turismo 3's city night scenes, they look very poor. But the graphics are still above psx level, and the cars are very good looking.

This is a great racing game, but if i had to pick one, i would go with gt3. Still it's worth getting tokyo extreme racer zero if you are at all interested in import racing.

I rented this game and thought it was great. Although it doesn't have the GT3 graphics it comes close. If you've played GT3 you can't change body panels on your car, but in TER0 you can. The cars aren't licensed by the manufacturers, but look like the real cars(NSX, Supra, Skyline etc.)they are named by mumbo jumbo letters and numbers. You can Change The cars name to what ever you want. You can change the car color if you want, the body with spiolers, side skirts etc. and sup up the engine and suspension. The gameplay is great. you race racers on the street with traffic coming straight at you. There is over 200 miles of road to Race! Also there are many many racers that race you. The racers are AI, they even cover gaps so you don't pass them. The higher your rank in the game the more money you get but the racers are more difficult to beat. This game is great fun with hours of gameplay. The only complaint i have is that there aren't any cops.

ok, straight to the point, GET THIS GAME!, if you are even the slightest bit interested in street racing this is the game for you, it's true that it doesn't have as much cars or tracks as GT3, but thats not what this game is about, the object of this game is to buy a car, race it on the streets of Tokyo, gain money, tune up your car and race some more, the thing that makes this game so much fun is how personal it makes things, you dont race on a track with 8 other nameless opponents, you drive around, looking for your opponent, you come up behind him and flash your highbeems, he lights his hazard lights to acknowledge your challenge and the game is on, you blast through the road going 200 mph dodging traffic, and the interesting thing is although you have a somewhat limited number of opponents (a little more than 380) each of your opponents have their own personality, you can check their profile, learn about what they do for a living and why they tune their cars, then you go out looking for the ones that you wish to challenge, they're not always driving around, the game uses the PS2's internal realtime clock, some of the racers only go out once a week, some of them only at certain time of the day and they either drive around in a certain area or sit and wait at an on-ramp for their next opponent, it makes things so much fun and a lot more realistic, like one time i drove around for an hour hunting down some chick in a BMW M3 that ran me into the wall at the last second causing me to lose the race, you can't help but take things personaly.

tuning your car is a little different too, you dont get all the stuff right from the beginning, you sorta have to earn them, at first you get 2-3 choices for each tuning catagory, after you race for a while you gradually start to get more and more upgrades, like a new type of spoiler, larger rims or a better muffler. and everything you do to your car is visible, like mufflers, lights, wheels even the new rolecage that you installed. and unlike GT3, you can easily notice the difference between 300 HP and 320 HP, how well you set your gears and even the weight of your car.

although it is easy to compare it with GT3 (just like i have), it's actually on a different level, the graphics aren't perfect but their pretty good, the way the cars drive isn't exactly similation grade either, but it comes close, you can't really pull of drifts but when your racing at 200 mph you really can't afford to lose any speed, your opponents give you no mercy, thats not to say the game is very hard, it DOES get very hard later on but the difficulty level rises very gradually so it never gets too hard all of a sudden.

so over all this is one of the must have racing games for the PS2.

Honest reviews on Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero

This game is like Pokemon for adults gotta catch them all! (cars, that is).

The title is a PS2 version of the Dreamcast niche hit, tokyo xtreme racer 2.. which was a much expanded sequel to (yes) tokyo xtreme racer (or tokyo highway battle, or.. whatever it was called in japanese). Anyway, trust me, it has a real pedigree.

Zero is better than the DC version in quite a number of ways no frame rate issues, no load time while on the highways, more highway buildings and landmarks, no bugs, two player split screen mode, more visual effects, etc etc.. all the good stuff has been preserved however.

Don't expect Gran Turismo 3 quality visuals, some of the tunnels and bridges generate quite nasty moire patterns as they run off into the distance, nor is TXR:0 competing as a touring car simulation .. its a night highway battle simulation, and comes with a little documentary on the street racing scene that shows the inspiration for the game perfectly..

Anyway there is far too much to talk about.. if you are AT ALL interested in road cars and what you can do to tune them up, how they look with new spoilers attached, what different engines sound like and how different models handle, then get this game!! After several weeks of fun, you'll be able to claim that you've weaved down the tokyo-yokohama expressway through night traffic at over 200 mph, in a car you built up resprayed and tuned yourself over many many days.. since it is unlikely you will be able to do this in real life, the game is worth every penny!

The gameplay in TXR:0 is really more than gran turismo in many ways with 400 opponents to find and beat, each with their own bio, pecularities and often identifiable driving style, (although you can beat the game to get a huge pot of money without beating all 400), by the time you've heard and felt the effect of your first engine upgrade, you'll be an addict..

By the way, the logitech force feedback wheel that has also been re-badged for GT3 also works with this game and since the games (GT3 vs TXR:0) are very different and complement each other nicely, you have no excuse! you need the wheel and gt3 and tokyo xtreme zero...

(I've put perhaps 30 hours into the game so far, and have unlocked half the highways and less than half the cars in the shop, although I've only tuned up and put 1000 miles on just *one* car .. I'll probably still be playing this title in a month).

Now i have been around the block a few times on Ps2 games and by far the best racing game i found was this one, and i have never regretted buying it. with the nice turning attributes(not found in grand turismo games where turning is a chore) this game will rock the streets. Unlike games like grand turismo, it speciallizes on the outside appearance of the cars, not the inside, which is a big pro.(what is so great about changing spark plugs, anyway?) the lighting is very detailed, and the racing is endless, so why wouldn't you want this game? the only downfall i see is the fact that the music litterally sucks, besides that, buy this game

Ok, ok...I am kind of a Stitch nut, but the little blue guy is just so darn cool. The movie rules, the soundtrack rocks and this game is so much fun as well.

At first I thought that it was going to be easy and that I would finish it in not time. NOT TRUE. It is surprisingly challenging. Kids can play it and get the gist of the game, have fun and laugh along with Stitch and his crazy antics. Adults will like it because you have to get "movie reels" that you use to "buy" secrets in the game. Inter-Stitchals (the commercials used to preview the movie), scenes from the film and other goodies. These "reels" are surprisingly hard to come by...but worth the effort to collect. Collect enough to "buy" your favorite scenes from the movie...take a break from playing...and watch something funny.

The game reminds me of the "Crash Banditcoot" games for the PSOne. They are fun, challenging, but not so difficult that it alienates a whole group of players. This game is a fun romp through the universe...Stitch style. Blow stuff up...collect DNA...acquire "movie reels"...and laugh. Yep, those would be the main points of the game. Its just fun, both for kids and adults...a great addition to any game library. The control is smooth and the graphics are slick...gameplay is great and it has superb replay value. Get it...its a ton of fun.

The Lilo & Stitch movie was really great & had more adult humor than most Disney flicks. This game is great & is also not much of a kids game. It has it's flaws, but I really enjoyed it. The graphics are pretty good & Stitch has quite a few moves which adds some gameplay value. Like in most 3d platformers, the camera sucks sometimes, which makes jumping & crawling a pain at spots. But the game moves really fast.. the levels are pretty different from one another & are quite lengthy. The sound is great. Voice actors from the movie are used all throughout. The music is pretty cool too but for some reason when you are swinging, the music totally stops & you have this awkward silence. The game also features great clips from the movie (25 in all i think) that keeps you playing to unlock em all. If you enjoy 3d platformers, or just need something to play until all the great games come out this fall.. i suggest pickin this one up.

This is a great game providing you like and appreciate Stitch. I'm tired of the morons on here complaining about how it's not a good game when it fact it IS a good fun game for anyone who cares about Stitch.

And why complain about not dying?? That's the most stupidest backwards complaint I've ever heard! (You shouldn't be playing video games at all if you think like that backward-minded reviewer!) Not dying is something you'd WANT to have! Do not listen to the idiots that have no clue to what they are talking about (and can not even spell to save their life).

I also like how you do not run out of ammo for Stitch's blaster guns, that's great. This game is NOT real easy like many reviewers like to say. It does take some time to do and isn't easy like the Lion King game. I especially like Stitch's mutterings and laughing, etc. He's beyond adorable!

Its so much fun! You can control Stitch with the stick. There are alot of fun levels. He can do amazing things like climb, he has lasers to shoot at enemies, he can pick up enemies and throw the enemy in the pit etc..
