Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Review

It's an incredibly bare bones PC port. There's no online multiplayer to speak of, it requires tinkering with game files just to change the resolution, and if you don't have a controller to use for your PC then don't even bother playing it. Not to mention there are only 8 levels and you'll have played through them all in about 2 hours. It's a pretty meh PC port and it's clear that the developers didn't really care about porting it over which means you shouldn't care about playing it.

This game is a great blast to the past for anyone like me who grew up playing the first two (or three) games. All the old levels you know and love from the original and great music too (with some new tracks built in)

The graphics are nicely refreshed and enhanced without taking away from the old charm.

The one complaint I have? The controls cannot be customized. So when you go to use a controller, it doesn't match up with the way the controls used to be on the old PS1 system. This is really annoying and takes away from the experience. This is the main reason why I rated this game down.

Why don't you just allow your users to customize the controls to whatever you want? Heck you could do that in the 16 bit era for crying out loud. Why can't I customize it the way I want in 2013? Doesn't make any sense. Honestly I haven't played it much since because of this problem.

If you have never played these games before you probably wont care, but for anyone who grew up playing the old games, this might be a deal breaker for you.

Great to remember old times playing THPS to the old tunes that musicized my teens. Great fun, despite not having local multiplayer.

I really like that they chose to revamp a classic, but this was a bit disappointing for me. I won't go into too many specifics, but I will say that they haven't included a number of things from the classic and it lost a lot of it's feel. I think they could have added more and spent a bit more time on it to be honest. It's alright, but I grew bored of it pretty quickly.

I have this game for both systems. The 360 version was bought here on Amazon. And the PS3 version was bought 5 days before launch at a local mom and pop shop.

Online

Street Fighter X Tekken is a ton of fun. It really is. But it's cons are very difficult to overlook. First there is the situation with the online. In this day and age netcode is too important. The ability to play online against friends or even strangers from around the world is one of the reasons the genre has made a complete comeback. SFXT's netcode sacrifices sound in order to run smoothly. The kicker is that it still struggles to run smooth even when sacrificing this precious audio. If you rely on sound for hit and block confirms, just stay away.

***Online update*** As of 4/10/12, the sound issue has been addressed, but many have complained about increased input lag since the patch.

Local to online co-op a.k.a. couch co-op

Got a friend over and the 2 of you want to jump online and do some ranked matches together? If you bought this game on Xbox 360, it's not possible. I'm not sure about later, but right now as I write this review, the 360 version does not have couch co-op even though it's advertised to and is even in the manual. At first Capcom blamed Microsoft. Claiming that the 360 was not able to do it because of it's architecture. That was a blatant lie that they got called out on because MK9 among other games can do this very thing. Then they claimed the 360 version was never supposed to have the feature and that it being in the manual was a mistake. And now, at the time of me writing this, the latest "explanation" is that they were on a tight schedule and they made the "tough decision" to leave it out. Which means the whole time they intentionally kept quiet about it long enough to get our money and let us discover the mode was missing on our own.

Controls

Now I already had a SF4 Round 2 TE, but I was hyped about this game. So I picked up a SFXT Fightstick V.S.(which I'll also be doing a review for) and it works wonderfully. If you're an arcade stick user you've got nothing to worry about. But pad warriors beware. The game has a problem reading diagonal inputs from a pad. Quite often when attempting to jump towards or away from your opponent, you'll get a neutral jump instead. And you'll also get swept when you're trying to crouch block because it'll register as down instead of down/back. This is a serious problem and wouldn't have possibly made into the final retail build if the game had received any sort of Quality & Assurance testing. Taking builds to tournaments and having top players fiddle around with it on the flashy new arcade sticks you're trying to market does not substitute for Q&A.

Color Edit Mode

KoFXIII offers up an amazing color edit mode. SFXT does not. As of right now only 2 colors are available. The additional packs will supposedly be free. But even though they're on the disc, Capcom sees it fit to ration them out over the course of 2012 rather then just let us have our fun with the color options now. The majority will have likely moved on already by the time all colors are finally available.

Gems

I was in favor of the gems initially while everyone else was skeptical from the beginning. I saw them as a potentially fun mechanic if done right. Well, everyone else was right to be skeptic. When you've faced as many people as I have online using the auto block gem as a crutch to defend against what would have otherwise been solid mix-ups, it suddenly becomes clear to you why the community thought they were a bad idea, and why tournaments don't allow them at all. The gems take an already unbalanced game and makes it even more so.

Disc-Locked Content: The new meaning for DLC

If you thought what I said before was bad, it gets even worse here. Locked away on the disc that you've already spent your hard earned money on is a ton of content that Capcom intends to squeeze you for. There are 12 additional characters, costumes, more powerful gems, additional quick combos, and more colors for the edit mode. Here's an idea of just how bad Capcom intends to make you literally pay for your decision to get SFXT. In Europe the costumes have already went on sale. They are £0.79 each. Which is about $1 US. There are 38 characters readily available and 12 locked characters. That's 50 characters total. Each character has 2 alternate costumes. So if you want them all, that's $100 just for COSTUMES. That's not even counting how much it's going to cost you to unlock the additional characters. You're already paying more for locked content than you did for the purchase of the game initially.

Engine

The good: The Tekken characters utilize ground bounces. And the Street Fighter characters utilize wall bounces. If you pick one of each, you get the best of both worlds. The Tekken characters surprisingly fit right in. Some of them fight a lot like their Tekken versions(Kazuya), and some fight nothing like their Tekken versions(Heihachi). But Capcom did a wonderful job of capturing the essence and character of the Tekken cast.

The bad: Damage scaling on combos is so severe, it's as if you're penalized for getting good at the game. It's too easy for non stick users to accidentally trigger quick combos, and there is no way to turn this off. "Grey Health" regenerates too fast. That combined with the heavy damage scaling results in most ranked matches ending in a Time Over. And Pandora is an unusable mechanic. It's so weak, no one dares to even bother with it. If you trigger Pandora during a match, there's a 95%+ chance that you're going to lose because of it. Scarily, there are even more problems than what I've named. I just listed a handful.

Graphics

This game looks great! Everything is in the SF4 art style, but the characters have been touched up a bit. And characters that had to be built from the ground up like all of the Tekken characters, and some from the SF side like Poison, Hugo, Rolento, etc. look amazing. The stages all look great too.

Overall

A game backed up with lies and shady business practices from it's publisher isn't something that I can honestly recommend. It's a great fighter at it's very core, but purchasing it will just encourage Capcom to continue treating their consumer/fanbase like they're stupid. SFXT is a ridiculous cash grab masquerading as a fighting game. I can't recommend someone buy half of a game for $60 and then the rest of it, which is locked ON THE DISC for over $100. They didn't have time to make sure the 360 version had couch co-op. They didn't have time to make sure the online was solid for either console. They didn't even have time to make sure pad players could enjoy the game. But they did however have time to make content to lock away on the disc. In short, do not buy this game.

Wow, do I feel ripped off by this game! Believe the bad reviews. I do not care if they want you to buy stuff that is already on the disc, the game itself is horrible. I only play online, and the online is totally broken and unplayable: lag, dropped sound effects, dropped controller inputs, lack of options. You name it, Capcom screwed it up. I am putting this game aside for a while. Hopefully, Capcom will repair all that is wrong with this game through updates, and then I will reevaluate it. It's too bad, too, because Street Fighter and Tekken are probably the ultimate fighting game franchises... and Capcom took a big stinky dump on both of them.

This game is a huge waste of money.

*First off the story in this game doesn't really exist just like every other fighter.

*Second, capcom has 12 characters locked out on the disk so you can't play as them until they officially release the DLC over the next 6 month period, in which you have to pay for the characters. You shouldn't have to pay for something that is on the disk. They are selling you an incomplete game. People found ways to hack and unlock the 12 characters and the company is now suing and getting Microsoft to ban those peoples accounts even though they are just using what should be theirs in the first place. Also, there was day one DLC for alternate costumes which pretty much only change the color of the characters clothes. If you were to buy every outfit it would cost around $100 extra.

*Lastly, Capcom is known for coming out with reprints of the same game. Street Fighter 2 came out at least 5 times. Street Fighter 4 came out and then 6-8 months later they came out with Super Street Fight 4, then 6-8 months after that came out with Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition. This also happened with Marvel vs Capcom 3, now there's Ultimate MVC 3.

So unless you want to keep buying the same game over and over again, I would wait for Crapcom to release the Super, Ultimate, Give me all your money again edition of this game.

Honest reviews on Street Fighter X Tekken - Xbox 360

Capcom has released a full game and charged full price for 60% of it. DLC has become a staple of this industry and its not surprising companies are trying to add more content to keep the title played longer. This is the opposite. This makes me want to get rid of this game and not purchase the next one they release.

Ok, so I am a die-hard Capcom fan. Have been since I was seven years old playing Street Fighter II in an actual arcade. Never would I have imagined that I would be driven to the point of actually slating one of their products, but low and behold, Capcom seemed determined to sway me, and other loyal fans, to do so.

I purchased the 360 version of Street Fighter x Tekken. I was mad before its release when I found out that it was going to have less characters than the PS3/Vita versions, but Capcom placed the blame for this on Microsoft through lack of communication, so I empathized and proceeded to buy it upon its release, even though it was still exactly the same price. Upon the purchase, and although even the instruction booklet that comes with the game lays out the set-up for it, there is no local co-op on the 360 version. So all the hype about 4 people playing at once? Sorry, not gonna happen on this version.

Wanna know what else? The 12 supposedly DLC characters that are being added to the roster of the Vita version this fall to "celebrate" Street Fighters 20th anniversary, are already on the disc. In full. On all versions. What does this mean? You buy the game for retail, with all of this content on the disc, just locked. How do you unlock them? You pay them more money for characters that you've actually already paid for. Nice.

Capcom's repsonse? There are numerous responses, each one digging the lie deeper. It's even to the point that Capcom officials are calling its consumers "whiners" "moaners" "cryers" "entitled gamers." Yes, Capcom, I am an "entitled gamer." I am entitled to the content that's on the disc that I already purchased!

Anyways, this disgusting marketing ploy is probably why the price is already starting to drop just a little over a week after its release. I was overly enthusiastic about this game. I wish game makers who actually care about the fans had produced this game. The one who did obviously doesn't care about his franchise.

If you're playing on XBox Live, you really need a headset. Most games involve voice coordination between people on the same team, and sometimes even discussions with your opponents.

I'm not sure why my experience was so different than the previous reviews. Maybe they got an older version of the headset? It definitely seems to be the same unit made by Microsoft, for the XBox 360, the basic model.

This headset is relatively inexpensive, and has a padded earphone and microphone. The earphone is adjustable, to have the headband part expand and contract. This lets it fit on larger and smaller heads. The microphone rotates, so that the unit can be worn on the left or right side. It only spins down to just under a 90 degree angle, though, so this forces you to wear the headset with the band right over the top of your head. At that spot, the microphone is pretty much right in front of my mouth (I prefer it a bit lower) and the opposite-side "bracer" part is digging into the skin just over my non-earphoned ear.

I don't know what it is with these headset creators but at its smallest setting, the unit is still too large for several adults I know. That makes it even worse for teens and kids! That being said, I find this problem with a lot of headsets, so it's something you just have to deal with.

There's a relatively long cord, and it plugs right into the base of your controller. It doesn't interfere at all with wireless controllers. The base part has a mute button as well as a volume control.

I didn't have any problem at all hearing other players when I was online their voices came through very clearly. Also, the unit fit very snugly into the base I didn't have any problems with static or dropped signals. In fact for a while I was letting my boyfriend drive in PGR3 while I talked in the headphone/mic, and even with the cord stretched out between us two I could hear fine. Other players could hear me. I didn't notice any issues with lag, our conversations went back and forth rather quickly.

I ordered this headset, thinking it would be an original Microsoft headset, and was disappointed to see a cheap knockoff after opening the package. The microphone can only be used on the left side, which sucks because I usually have it on the right side. The pictures all show a Microsoft XBOX 360 headset and the manufacturer even says "Microsoft". Totally false advertising. I will never buy from this seller again.

I liked this headset that came included in the pro xbox360, though I'm not a big fan of the headset wrapping around the top of your head like traditional headsets, I would have liked it to wrap around the back of your head like the original headset for the original xbox. The headset was good to decent quality in terms of the way it is built but seems a bit to plasticey and not of superior quality but its good enough, it has a good microphone and a good loud speaker and comes with volume control and a mute switch. Its a good headset for general use and decent if you compare it to better ones made by plantronics, but the sad part about this product is that it had an early death. The microphone dies after a while making the entire headset useless, even with good care it died. After a about a month or two the microphone first starts making a lot static on the other gamers recieving end and then the microphone just doesnt pick up any sound at all. I take good care of my headsets, I still own 2 of the original xbox headset (which are years old) and have a halo 2 headset and all work perfectly. I also have seen this headset have the same failures to many other fellow xbox live friends and all have had to revert to other headsets.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Head Set Communicator

I am an adult gamer and I've owned 4 (FOUR!) of these headsets including the "new and improved" version and have given up. The wire connecting to the controller is so incredibly thin that it breaks even if you take great care of it. My last one lasted exactly 32 days, 2 days after Best Buy will take returns.

It all boils down to Microsofts profits. The thin wire that connects the headset to the controller actually has 4 wires inside of it, giving it almost no hope of any long term survival

Plus, you can't even turn voices up loud enough to hear your friends well anyway.

Look into headsets made by someone other than Microsoft!

I had one because my Xbox 360 came with one. It worked for a while, but considering how well I take care of my things, I didn't expect it to suddenly stop working. It's cheap and not very comfortable. I preferred the original Xbox headset that went around the back of the head. I also never had a problem with that one. It lasted as long as I needed it to. I would suggest using this until it breaks, and it will, then move on to something else. Perhaps the wireless headset. You can't really play online without some sort of headset.

I just got this headset today, so everything i am saying is just my first impression. Maybe in the future i will get used to these things. First, the earcups are very hard, and don't go over your ears. I am used to the x12 headset where they go nicely over your ears. Second, the part where you change the game and chat volume is huge! This is also compared to the x12 headset, but the picture on amazon is very deceiving. There isn't much noise cancellation with the headset, but since i'm waiting for Black Ops 2 to come out, i have not yet heard the sound quality on the headset. Now for the cosmetic stuff. The earcups feel very cheap, and they flop around very easily. The wire connecting the two ears is very noticeable and you can see the glue keeping it together. Overall, if your getting this for the cushons or the looks, perhaps this isnt the headset for you. P.S. the cloth wires are badass, so not everything is displeasing....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT... Okay, so its been a day since i wrote this review. I decided to take them out of the box to try the sound and to really feel em on my head. I have to say, the sound quality is much better than the x12s. i own the x12, x11, and z2. And another thing. in the review i said that the cushons didn't fit around my head properly and they were hard to the touch, now, as i write this, i'm wearing the headset and i am noticing that they actually do fit perfectly around my ears. With the x12's, the earcups were really big so there was a lot of room in my ear area, with these, they just fit around my ears and the noise cancellation with music is much better than what i previously stated.

Pros: Ears are surprisingly comfortable after a day of hate.

Sound quality is amazing compared to the headsets i stated before.

Braided wire is amazing looking and feels quite durable.

Color scheme is cool, and reminds me of Halloween, a Halloween that Sandy has ruined for me lol.

Says Black Ops 2 on top of the headset.

The volume can go quite high if you want to have ear surgery.

Only has a Usb plug and a headphone plug, unlike the x12 that needs a usb, headphone, and microphone plug.

Cons:

Earcups feel hollow and made with cheap plastic.

They feel flimsy even though im sure they wont snap on me.

Braided wire is a bit heavy, so i rest it on my lap.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift December 2012. Around April 2013 the unit failed. It was hardly used. We contacted them and they said 30 day warranty! We paid $122.99 for this "Special Blacks Ops ii" unit. We will never support Turtle Beach. If Turtle Beach cares they will exchange it for my child. Do the right thing Turtle Beach. We cant afford to buy another.

Honest reviews on Turtle Beach Call of Duty: Black Ops II KILO Limited Edition Stereo

My boyfriend is the type of guy that "has it all" so for the holiday season, i was stumped when it came to getting him a gift--especially after his parents were giving him a gaming gift certificate! So while i was looking for the game his that recently has peaked his interest, i noticed this little number and i was stoked! He had broken his last turtle beach head phones and was currently gaming with a headset that only had one functioning ear phone. After reading the reviews, i was a bit skeptical about the material and durability of this headset. I considered the item time and again until i finally purchased it on a whim! Once he opened his gift, i could see his excitement and gratitude etched along his face; he fessed up to it being his favorite christmas gift. At that moment, i knew i had gotten him the perfect gift. He loves the quality of the head set, the color and the material were just exquisite! I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking the ultimate headset with enough extension cord to play across a mid sized room. You will be satisfied with the sound quality and the amazing features featured in this head set! Not to mention it arrived promptly at my doorstep with the packaging box also in great condition.

The white version of the Xbox 360 Slim is the same as the black one in all functions, so I will be reviewing the actual package and Xbox 360 itself.

The Xbox 360 Slim is hands-down the best console I have ever owned. (This white version especially looks good.) The main differences between the new Xbox 360's and the older models (Arcades/Elites) are as follows: It has built-in wireless internet capabilities, built-in 4GB memory (via flashed internal memory), a port for the Kinect, and a slightly smaller power supply.

This package comes with all of the hook-ups and a white wireless controller (and let me say, I'm really digging this new white one), as well as a Kinect. Now, if you've never played on a Kinect, you are truly missing out. It makes the Wii (and the PS3 Move) look outdated. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the controller-less gaming actually works pretty well, and the Kinect technology is pretty accurate, which surprised me. Kinect Adventures is a standard (but fun) game to show off its capabilities. Kinect Sports also comes in this bundle and I think it's probably one of the best Kinect games out there, so I am glad it is included. And let me say, my friends who have seen my new shiny white Kinect are very jealous... I think it looks a lot better than the black ones.

Lastly, this bundle also comes with a 3-month Xbox Live gold membership. Generally, a 12-month gold membership to Xbox Live will cost you $59.99 per year, or even more if you pay by the month or every three months. However, you definitely get a ton of features for what you pay for, including ESPN, Last.fm radio, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and multiplayer access. Having a 3-month card included really gives everyone a chance just to see how great having a gold membership really is.

Overall, this Xbox 360 bundle is top-notch since it includes a nice shiny white console, Kinect, two great games, and a 3-month Xbox Live gold membership card. You will not be disappointed in this bundle, unless if you just prefer black over white.

Spend the extra $100 and buy the Kinect Sports Bundle. The only reason we initially upgraded was so my younger kiddos would have some games to play as most of the non-kinect games were not for younger ages. I had no idea the Kinect was so much fun now all kiddos love this. including the older ones who only wanted it for battle games. Another plus with this bundle is it comes with 2 games that are all family friendly. The only complaint about the xbox is that it only comes with 1 controller. Luckily with kinect you dont need the controllers.

We got this as a gift on Mother's Day (from the best sister ever!) and we've enjoyed the games immensly. We were thrilled to have a video game system that makes our kids get up off the couch and move their bodies! I played the boxing and beach volleyball games with my 8 year-old and my upper body is still sore...in a good way. It gives a nice workout and is fun for everyone in the family. I wish we'd gotten on years ago.

I must admit up front I rarely if ever follow soccer. That being said, I have played this game far more then I have played either NCAA 10 or Madden 10. The graphics are great, and the environment of the game from the crowd sounds to the announcers make me feel like I have been watching English Premier League football my whole life. This game is very addictive, and once you get the hang of the player controls you will find yourself learning a lot about the flow of game. At first I was offside quite a bit. Now I find myself looking for that extra pass that might result in a higher percentage shot on goal. I find the AI to be pretty challenging (for me), and I have it set on the default setting. Against good teams I find my games are very close. Sometimes a team will come in against me and just kill me. I think as I play more I will learn a lot more about the who's who in powerhouse teams.

If you are a sports game fan, I think you will like this game. Its fun to play solo or against a computer opponent (face to face). Didn't try online yet.

I know that the FIFA games tend to get a little better every year, and I always think to myself," This year's installment is great, but..."

Not with FIFA 10.

I've only played the manager mode with the team I support the most, AS Roma, but simply from that experience, what a difference in the game play. I liked last year's addition of an actual referee pointing the flag in the direction of team possession, so of course, that made it back to FIFA 10. New additions to the FIFA game include; a full schedule for your team, including preseason friendlies with teams in your league, and with teams all over Europe; improved player likenesses, including the way indivual players move (Francesco Totti actually moves like Francesco Totti); weather changes to go with day and night games, including rain and snow; in the rain snow games, most of the players on your squad switch to longsleeves, which was a feature missing from the previous FIFAs; it's easier for defenders to tackle and win possession, which makes the game more difficult but lends to the realistic aspects a real match; and right and left backs can actually push up the sides of the field, which allows them to score and gives more team members besides just your strikers and attacking midfielders a chance on goal.

The only problem I have with the game is the price, and the fact that I'm a full time student without the time to play the game as much as I'd like. Fully recommended to any fans of the previous games. And just think to yourself once you play it...it only gets better from here.

Best Deals for FIFA Soccer 10 - Xbox 360

Fifa 2010 is a pretty solid soccer game. Allow me to break it down some:

Decent AI:

Playing on the harder difficulty levels, the AI still makes awful decisions from time-to-time. Defenders under no pressure make awful panicky clearances, forwards make runs while keeping a defender close and between them and the ball, et cetera. That said, overall the AI has improved greatly from earlier versions, and it makes the game that much more fun.

Improved physics & 360 controls:

The high points of this game are the physics and 360 controls. As opposed to previous versions, you have very precise directional control of everything. This is also somewhat frustrating, because it greatly increases the sensitivity of everything you do. The ball movements, player movements, and player clashes seem more real than ever before. It feels much closer to real soccer than any other game I've played before.

Manager mode:

They made a big deal out of how improved manager mode is. Frankly, I see little difference, except simulating games takes longer, I'm guessing due to the increasing number of variables taken into account. But I still see outlandish results, but like Fifa 2008, it seems fairly reasonable a majority of the time. Of course there's some things like salary caps going on here, but nothing makes a big difference in my opinion. I still enjoy manager mode, it's just not a very big change from before. The one thing here that I still find frustrating, is even if you start with a 5-star team, it's incredibly hard to transfer star players. They simply don't want to play for you until you have many stars. But by the time you can get these manager stars, some of the star older players (e.g., Ronaldinho) have retired.

I do find some frustration with the auto-coach mode in manager mode. The idea is that auto-coach will rotate your squad based on fatigue and injuries. This is great, but it makes a lot of changes. This is annoying because I generally have 1 set of players I consider my top starers. I would like to be able to save this lineup, and quickly reset my team to that lineup for big matches. Instead, I have to redo the entire squad manually. I would turn off auto-coach, but fatigue seems to be a very big factor now, so that would be even more frustrating. Also, sometimes the auto-coach does questionable things like put a midfielder into the goalkeepers position, when the goalkeeper is fully energized and not injured.

Be A Pro:

I created my own pro player, and have been working to increase his attributes. This is a painful and annoying process--by far the most frustrating thing for me in Fifa 2010. First of all, you need to play on the harder difficulty levels to unlock accomplishments. This is fine, but it should explicitly warn you about this, especially if you're playing a game on amateur and you navigate to the accomplishments menu. In addition, I feel like the logic to determine when you are achieving these accomplishments is dreadful. For example, consider these two accomplishments:

1. Find your team mates with 2 different crosses in a match

2. Set up 2 goals with crosses in a match

I just played a match, and unlocked accomplishment 2, but not accomplishment 1. Uh what? Other accomplishments are equally frustrating, especially the "beat x players with skill moves." It seems you must be painfully close to the defending player when pulling off these moves, before it will credit you with beating him with a skill move. This is annoying because you can clearly throw off defenders with skill moves from further away and even the announcers comment on how you just rocked that particular defender, but you get no progress for it in the accomplishments.

Seriously, I could go on and on about the accomplishments not being picked up, it's a very buggy detection system. Or if it's behaving as intended, it needs to be more clear to the player about why they aren't picking up the accomplishments.

Overall Fifa 2010 is a solid game, but I still expect more from such a high-budget production.

Honest reviews on FIFA Soccer 10 - Xbox 360

I just got the game a few days ago but things I noticed so far. The game is really fluid and a little faster than 09. Quick free kicks when you get fouled mid field the player will simply pick up the ball place it down and GAME ON GARTH. Getting carded is no longer a cut shot but simply the ref runs up to the player and books him (the camera angle stays the same).

Dribbling is much better you can now absorb contact and push the ball.

Again game speed is much faster so you don't have to use turbo all the time and burn out your players come 2nd half. Shooting from distance now works in 09 and previous years the only to score was on a breakaway or 10 feet from the goalie (Gerrard Lampard we doing work this year)

Let me stop rambling. Fifa 10 is a great game alot of people would say PES. I was one of those guys but Fifa 09 really put the ball in their court and 10 just improves off last years game.

Madden junkies that want to play a sports game where it doesn't take an hour to play a game pick up Fifa you can probably get about 4-5 matches out in the same time it takes to play a madden game online.

I bought FIFA 10 a couple of weeks ago, mostly to occupy my time at the end of an increasingly boring summer. I hadn't purchased an entry in the FIFA series since 07, so I was unsure about how different the gameplay would be and feel. Extremely different is probably the best description, but almost completely in a good way. The motions of the players are fluid, the graphics are extremely realistic, and the commentating, though not always spot on, is consistent enough to be amusing. The sheer number of teams one can play as is also astounding to me, with leagues from Europe, Japan, Korea, the US, Mexico, and Brazil all making an appearance.

The game does have a few flaws, mostly with the AI. For example, when the ball is not under anyone's control, the player you are controlling usually goes for it even though there may be a teammate controlled by the computer who is yards closer. The chip shot is also too easy to score with on a breakaway, but I hear this problem has been fixed in the World Cup version. The goalie sometimes has trouble judging when to come off his line, which can be frustrating in a close game with a friend.

Overall, however, this FIFA is a very fun game to play, especially online or with friends. I highly recommend it.

The controller is really cool, although the controller you actually get may be slightly different from the one in the picture. Mine had matching blue triggers and a plastic blue guide button, although I'd prefer to have the default guide button. Also, the controller works pretty good mostly. Except sometimes I'll be playing Black Ops 2, and there will be an enemy right in front of me and my gun won't shoot because of the mods. And then I get killed. It's really frustrating. And also, if you press the left trigger and then the mods button, it will make the player four light come on, and I don't really know what it does but it sure as heck messes me up in the middle of the game. Oh, and then there are the messages I get from angry players, complaining about my mods. And lastly, the LEDs could be better...mine are uneven and they get dimmer when the controller needs charged.

Overall, I DID get the controller at a good price ($85) but sometimes it gets screwed up in the midst of a game and renders me gun-less.

Honest reviews on Drop shot, Auto-aim, Jitter Xbox 360 Modded Controller COD Ghosts

Me and my kids play Black Ops 2, and this controller works great. If I play with mods and they have their mods turned off, I actually stand a chance against them! We play video games together as a family quite a bit, and we own a set of a few modded controllers. The tiger ones are my personal favorite, something about them just stands out from the others.

The rapid fire is very fast, and has never let me down. We've played it online and have had no issues. Everyone online seems to have modded controllers now, so we got some modded controllers to keep up with everyone else. Now I know how everyone has been dropshotting so good online.. these controllers make it so simple to do so.

Highly recommended.. Geniusmods will not let you down. Everything about them is professional. The manual was easy to read, came in full color with plenty of photos. Packaging was great, very professional, quality product.

I own a PS3 and I am happy with it. I wasn't going to get a Xbox 360 until this bundle came along. I mostly got it for the included Halo Reach and the new Xbox 360 Slim console, which doesn't seem to have the overheating issue or Red Light of Death that older Xbox 360 consoles had.

Pros:

-Comes with a 250GB hard drive. This is necessary to play games smoothly. Installing the game to the hard drive makes the Xbox 360 run quieter and cooler.

Built-in Wi-Fi. You no longer have to buy an adapter to connect wirelessly. It's built into the system.

Built-in Kinect port. This Xbox 360 Slim has a special port just for the Kinect so you don't have to buy an adapter.

3 Free Months of Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Live is the reason to get the Xbox 360. Its extensive online service is more user-friendly than PSN, but you will have to pay $60 a year after your 3 months are up (Amazon has some deals to get a Xbox Live membership around $45-50) for it.

Halo Reach (downloadable token). There is no physical disc. Instead, they give you a code that you download from the Xbox Marketplace to your hard drive.

Fable 3. It's an RPG game. Not my kind of game, but if you enjoy role-playing, you might like it.

Official Xbox headset. It's a mono headset, which means there's only one earpad to hear voice from. It works fairly well, but I have the Astro A40s so I don't use it.

Cons:

Have to pay to play online.

Does tend to get hot when playing from the disc.

Fans run much louder than the PS3.

To summarize, this is a great bundle for someone who doesn't have a xbox 360 or would like to have both systems. If you already have a xbox 360, there's really no reason to get this one. Most Xbox 360 owners will probably already have Halo Reach and Fable 3 isn't really a console seller. Now, I can game with friends on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 with ease.

Also, I purchased the One-day shipping (which was $10 bucks for me) and it really did come the next day, just in case you were wondering about pushing your delivery date up.

I scored this at Target for the Black Friday deal of $199.00. Still worth it at $299.00 though. Easy to set up, has HDMI and WIFI, although I oppted to run my eithernet wire into the back of it via my router so my signle would always be strong.

Also a little trick the sales guy said was when installing, DON'T enter your 3 month XBOX LIVE code when prompted. The system itself comes with a 1 month trial, so you end up with 4 months of XBOX LIVE GOLD!! Enter the code after your 1 month expires.

Already played Call of Duty MW3 on it with 3 other friends, LOTS OF FUN!!! Havn't tried the 2 games that came with it yet.

The sound a picture is amazing when run through a sony 5.1 surround amplifer(HDMI)and played on a 46" Sony Bravia 240hz lcd. I was extremely happy after the hookup and downloads.

Being a first time Xbox owner, I want to say that this is a great buy. I was about to buy a Xbox 250gb without any extras for the same price. You get two games valued at at least $25 each plus a three month Xbox live card again valued at $25. So you're basically paying $225 for the Xbox itself. I was able to receive $50 Amazon credit with my purchase which is another awesome thing. Also, no tax in California? I mean c'mon, great deal.

The games, Halo reach is a download which took about an hour but it is almost 7gbs. From what I've played so far it's pretty fun. Pretty easy to get into without knowing any background information. Fable III, I love how cinematic this game is. Love the graphics and love how your actions shape your world. Also came with DLC which I thought was pretty neat.

Now, the Xbox itself IS matte black which I rather prefer to the shiny black which can get real messy with fingerprints. I leave it on its side on a raised platform to keep it from overheating which i hear can occur often but finding something to leave it on wasn't really a problem. Wifi built in which is awesome.

This is my first review on anything, so if my structuring is wrong or off I'm sorry xD

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle (OLD MODEL)

My advice to current XBox owners: Never purchase a new console. Always send your old one in for repairs. This will help you avoid the aggravation I have been forced to endure.

Back in February, my old XBox console started having longer load times and randomly freezing up. Realizing that it was several years old, likely on its last legs and long out of warranty (meaning I'd have to pay to have it repaired) I decided to purchase the newer S model. I also bought the hard drive transfer cable, moved all of my content to the new one, then ran the license transfer process to assign all of my downloadable game licenses to my new console.

Except... it didn't work. For some reason all of my content is still assigned to my old console. If I purchase something online, my download queue shows the message "Assigned to other console" and will not download it. Even if it's a new item I've never purchased before, it still gets assigned to the old console. Also, I now have to be signed in to XBox Live to play any previously downloaded games on my hard drive. If I'm offline, it shows up as the trial version, since the paid unlocked version is still assigned to my old console.

I have tried clearing the cache. I have tried deleting my profile and downloading it again. I have tried deleting the latest system update from my console and downloading it again. I am unable to attempt the license transfer again because of Microsoft's ridiculous limit on how often it can be performed. Which I understand is to prevent chronic miscreants from jumping to new consoles without penalty every time their current one gets banned, but in my particular case it kind of completely sucks.

Microsoft has proven themselves spectacularly useless in helping me get this fixed.

The first support representative I talked to was very friendly and assured me the problem would be fixed, but it could take up to 72 hours. Perfectly satisfactory answer. I wait three days. Nothing happens.

I call back and am told by another equally friendly support rep that, no, it actually takes up to 25 days. Why the first guy told me 3 he does not know, but all right, fine, I will wait 25 days, what other choice do I have.

25 days pass, and... still nothing. At this point I am exceedingly tired of this nonsense. Back into support chat where friendly support rep #3 helpfully asks for... my console ID for the new system. Because apparently they need it to do a manual license transfer. And they cannot obtain it on their own. And for some reason did not, oh, I don't know, actually ASK me for it during one of the previous two chats. So now I am waiting ANOTHER 25 days for them to resolve this. In the meantime I am stuck with a not insignificant amount of purchased content that I must be connected to XBox Live to even use. I'm sure anyone who has ever purchased a PC game with invasive DRM that requires a persistent online connection can understand my frustration with that.

At this point my confidence in Microsoft's ability to fix this is pretty much zero. It feels as if they are utterly incompetent and dragging their feet every step of the way. I have been a loyal Microsoft customer for years, and am not asking for anything big. I just want my content back, the content which I own a license to use. I just want what is mine. That is not too much to ask.

I will post an update on April 20th, which is the end of my current 25-day waiting period.

I wish I had paid for a repair and gone without my old console for a few weeks. I deeply regret buying this new one.

This could happen to you.

We have had an Xbox 360 in our home since the system first came out and I can easily say that the last 6 years with this console has been the best 6 years I have had yet with a videogame system and that is saying something as I have had just about every console released since Pong was released back in the mid 70's. Microsoft, a company that I was never too fond of given the fact that I am an Apple computer user, has really done an outstanding job with this system. While there were some hardware issues with the earlier consoles, I can safely say that the Xbox 360 S is a top notch console with none of the problems that plagued earlier models. Its superior in almost every way to previous models.

My single favorite aspect to this system is without a doubt Xbox Live and all of the things that come along with the service (you get 3 months included with this holiday pack). Basically Xbox Live gives you the ability to play games online and lets you download arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, music and movies. Out of all of the things that MS has done, putting so much focus on the development of Xbox Live is, in my opinion, the smartest thing they have done yet in regards to this console. Xbox live has really become a fantastic part of the Xbox gaming experience. In fact, I couldn't imagine Xbox without Xbox Live. In particular, both my son and I love Xbox Live Arcade. There is now a massive assortment of games on Xbox Live Arcade and the nice thing about the games, besides the lower cost, is that they dont require the time investment that most of the regular Xbox games require. Its a more casual gaming experience and I really appreciate that, especially during my busy season with photography as I simply dont have the time to invest in big games during that time of the year. I love that every game available on Xbox Live Arcade has a demo available so you can actually try it out before making up your mind on whether or not to buy it. Xbox Live also has an on demand game section, which are regular disc based releases that you can buy and download over Xbox live. I personally dont buy on demand games as the prices really aren't competitive and I just cant justify buying a download version of a game when I can actually buy the physical version for the same price or less. Of course, buying the physical copy gives you the ability to sell it later on. This isn't possible with downloaded versions. Given that aspect alone, on demand games should be at least 5-10 bucks cheaper than the physical version and unfortunately that just hasn't been the case and this is one area where Xbox live can be significantly improved.

Xbox live also offers additional services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, ESPN, Zune, and LastFM. We currently use Netflix and ESPN and we love both services. Its important to note that Microsoft recently announced that 40 additional entertainment partners will soon be joining the Xbox Live experience including Comcast, HBO GO, Syfy, Verizon FiOS, Bravo, and Xfinity. This really isn't surprising given the fact that Microsoft has stated many times that their vision for the future of Xbox lies in it becoming a hub for entertainment in your home, not just a videogame console. With the announcement of 40 additional entertainment services being added, MS are now one step closer to making this a reality and I expect the list of services will only continue to grow over the coming years. Basically this gives people the ability to individualize their TV experience through Xbox live. I only watch about 5% of the channels I receive through cable, and pay a hefty price to be able to do so. So I am very interested in where this console is going in this regards.

I also really like that MS has been focusing more and more on the family side of gaming as my wife enjoys gaming and we have an 11 year old son. In particular, we really enjoy Family Game Night which highlights a different family game every Tuesday. The number of games suitable for younger children has increased substantially over the last few years and the console itself has parental options that allow you to lock out certain content from your children. This includes games, movies and TV shows. I travel a lot so these options are very important to me. I dont have to worry about what content my son is accessing while I am away.

As for regular gaming, Xbox certainly doesn't disappoint. There are so many great games available that I literally dont have time to play all of them. Just look at the games released, or being released, in the last quarter of 2011. You have Gears of War 3, Forza 4, Battlefield 3, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Saints Row 3, Batman Arkham City, etc. Those are just the high profile games. Of course, Xbox has a huge catalog of titles already available and many of those games can be purchased for 20 dollars or less. You can even play a large number of original Xbox titles on the 360, many of which are amazing games and could easily be found for 10 bucks or less at used game stores. Most people have a limited amount of time that the can devote to playing games and given the sheer number of great games available....well, lets just say that the vast majority of people will have the same problem I have, that you dont have time to play all the games you want to play.

For those that are looking to get their first console, this holiday bundle is a great deal. It has the 250 Gig HD and comes with 2 of the biggest games released this past year, Halo Reach and Fable 3. Its important to note that the you dont get the physical copy of Halo Reach. You get a code that gives you the ability to download it from Xbox Live On Demand.

Bottom line Microsoft has really done a remarkable job with their Xbox gaming system. They have had a few bumps along the way but overall the Xbox is a top notch gaming system that now offers far more than just gaming. Whether your looking for casual gaming, hardcore gaming, online gaming, family gaming, or even motion based gaming, the Xbox has more than enough to fit the bill. As I stated originally, the last 6 years with the Xbox 360 has without a doubt been the best 6 years I have ever had with a console. Xbox 360 has become a staple in my house in regards to my families entertainment. Whether its for gaming, movies or TV shows, the Xbox doesn't disappoint. I really couldn't possibly give this console a higher recommendation. Its just a top notch entertainment device.

It's a combination that does not seem like it should work, but puzzle game play as a combat system for a RPG makes for a very entertaining game if you like puzzle games like Bejeweled. Puzzle Quest [Download] is the pioneer of this kind of RPG puzzle game (as far as I know) and a hallmark title that you should play. Clash of Heroes has a very similar feel but the puzzle gameplay is slightly more complex than a "match 3" game. You still match rows and columns of pieces, but instead of swapping or rotating them in a grid you slide them in and out of columns. Matching 3 or more in a row creates a wall (defensive structure) while matching 3 in a column creates an attack formation. At its core it is that simple, but there are advanced elements that enhance the gameplay: linking like-colored formations together to enhance their power, forming multiple walls/formations in a single move to gain additional moves, and so on.

You command 5 different heroes, each with his/her own special power and unique set of creatures to command. The game is paced quite well. Higher strength creatures are meted out over the course of each character's story arc, giving you something to look forward to as you progress. You switch between characters throughout the campaign, which keeps things fresh. I have not played any of the multiplayer games, but the single player campaign is very entertaining.

Clash of Heroes is an great casual game that you can play in short 15 minutes intervals, or for extended sessions. It was originally designed for the Nintendo DS and it shows in how the user interface is designed, but it plays just fine on the PC using a mouse. I highly recommend it if you like puzzle games. The addition of role-playing elements adds a fun purpose to the puzzle gameplay and provides a rewarding story arc that gives you a sense of accomplishment.

This is a decently fun puzzle game and offers a good challenge (at least for me). I got hooked on RPG-esq puzzle games with Puzzle Quest and am now a sucker for picking up any I see.

The gameplay is completely turn-based, and with no time limit so you are free to think out your moves with all the time you need. That doesn't mean it is easy though, I often feel like the AI has the deck stacked in their favor.

It's mostly a 'match three' type game; however you cannot 'swap' pieces to make matches like you do in games like Bejeweled. A vertical match of 3 will attack your opponent, while a horizontal match of 3 will form a wall that can block some or all of your opponent's attacks. So how do you form matches without being able to `swap' pieces? You can grab the last piece on any column, and move it to a different column. This uses up one of your 3 moves per turn. The other option is you can remove any single piece from the board, no matter where it is. So if in a column you had blue, green, blue, and blue you could remove the green to form a match of 3 blues. If when you remove a piece a match forms, it does not use a move. If you remove a piece and no match forms, it consumes one of your three moves per turn. If you create multiple matches you will get bonus moves. You get a set number of pieces per game, and you can spend a move to replace any pieces you have used previously, this replenishes your side of the board with new pieces to make more matches. This continues until you deal enough damage to your opponent.

There are some additional factors to the game like elite and champion units, but that's the gist of it. As I've mentioned earlier, I find the AI tends to get pretty stacked odds, or I'm just not lucky. I often find the AI getting to start each combat with several opportunities to delete a unit and create a match, which often results in them getting several free moves during their turn and they can easily create 3 or more matches right at the start. That aside, the game is still winnable and keeps a challenge to the player by limiting the amount you can `level up' and not offering any kind of difficulty setting (it is what it is).

There is a main storyline that's pretty mediocre and not at all good, but none of these games tend to have a good story so that's par for the course I guess. There are side quests and mini-games however that give you something a bit extra to do if you wish.

The game does feature multiplayer, but I haven't touched it. I play all my games single player.

120GB Hard Drive HDD for Xbox 360 - Fast Speed 7200RPM
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I used this hard drive to replace a 20GB stock (5400rpm) hard drive from an older (NOT slim) Xbox 360 console. I was able to quickly and easily transfer all my existing data to the new drive, which requires a transfer cable which is NOT included. I immediately noticed a decrease in loading times.

In order to take full advantage of the faster speed this drive offers, you should "install" the Xbox game you want to play to the hard drive. At the main dashboard, after inserting your game disc, press the X button to bring up additional options. One of them should be to install the game. You will still need the disc in the drive in order to play, but after launching the game your Xbox will load most data directly from the hard drive instead of from the game disc. This is MUCH faster, and also quieter than the sometimes noisy DVD drives that Microsoft put in these consoles.

It came with no instructions, but installation was easy and pretty self-explanatory.

If you do not have existing data to transfer from a different drive, simply connect the new drive to your Xbox and turn it on.

If you are replacing an existing drive and want to transfer your gamer profiles, installed games, DLC, saved games, etc., the process is still simple:

1. Connect the new hard drive to the front USB port on your Xbox using an Xbox Hard Drive transfer cable (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Data-Transfer-Cable/dp/B003S9WJ9A/).

2. Power on your console. After booting you will get a prompt that a transfer cable has been detected. Follow the prompts to transfer your data to the new drive. ***Note: If you do not get the prompt automatically, try disconnecting and reconnecting the transfer cable with the console powered on.)

3. When transfer is complete, shut down your Xbox. Disconnect the transfer cable and remove the old hard drive from the Xbox. Connect the new hard drive to the Xbox and power it on.

4. The Xbox should automatically load up your default gamer profile. If any of your DLC doesn't work (sometimes the licensing doesn't transfer correctly) simply delete it and redownload it from the Xbox Live Marketplace. You should not be charged for it again as long as you are signed into the same account you used to purchase it.

The item shipped quickly and the shipping charges were reasonable. It's not quite as fast as the Amazon Prime shipping I've gotten used to, but worth waiting an extra day or two for this item. The packaging was appropriate and the item arrived in perfect condition. It looks just like a drive you would get from Microsoft.

Hope this helps!

Pros:

-fast shipping (to be fair, it came from Indiana and I live in Illinois)

-well packaged (I am grateful for that)

-120 GBs of memory for under 50$ is definitely worth it

Cons:

-the package had a sticker on it saying I would have saved close to 10$ (was under) if I bought it from their site. well, I definitely would have done that if I knew that before...

-I paid a little extra to get the "fast speed 7200RPM" to make my downloads faster and so far, I do not see a difference. As I am typing this, I am trying to download the "terminal map" for Call of duty Modern warfare 3 and it has been going on for about 10+ minutes now (72%). I figured the 7200 RPM would reduce the time it takes to download just 1 single map, but I feel like it downloaded faster the first time I did it.

Overall:

It is 120GB memory for under 50$ and that is definitely a good deal. So I do recommend this product and the company selling it.

Everything came exactly as it said it would. Setup was easy and the transfer took only a few minutes from my old hard drive. The only down side was that it didn't have the full 120 GB but I kind of expected that. Going from a 13GB hard drive to a 106 GB with faster speed is still a huge step up and worth the money.

The side plates are really just stickers that are somewhat frustrating to attach. That said, it does increase the aesthetic quality of your 360, well if you are a halo fan.

Personally i would have been happy with just the plate, the stickers were kind of a bonus.

I thought it was going to be Master Chief, but it was a covenant theme. It still looks cool though!

I love it. I am glad to be putting this on my xbox 360. No more dull white for me. This skin is very detailed and colorful artwork of Halo 3! The skin is very easy to put on, and I recommend this product to all Halo 3 fans out there!

For those who have the older xbox 360 console, beware that it will warm your console up. I know it is not covering the air vent, but it is like putting on a light jacket for your console. Just be careful.

I am giving it a 3 Star because it does look nice and add a great touch to your xBox 360. But, I cannot give it a 5 for the obvious reason that it would help heat up your xBox.

This edition of the game comes with all the expansion packs so it's definitely worth picking up. Also as soon as you have it, goto Bethesda's site because they have some free content to download which adds some new pieces to the game (this was before they started selling content).

Alright, now for the review, this has to be one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. You take the role of a recently released prisoner (species, class, and sex of your choosing) and immerse yourself into an exciting storyline filled with plot twists and side quests to keep you busy for endless hours.

The game is much different than Oblivion (the next game in the Elder Scrolls series) so people who enjoyed that game may or may not like this one. A lot of the mainstream added content to Oblivion wasn't present in this game. This being that the auto leveling of enemies, horses to ride on, and a few other smaller changes were not present in the game.

So you'll spend a lot of time either running to your next location (and the flying birds are the most annoying thing in the world) or you'll take a ride from city to city using the instant travel public transportation available (boats and this animal that you ride).

The greatest thing about this game (besides the endless hours of quests) is also its worst quality for fans of Oblivion: the non-auto leveling will leave you in a state where the enemies become extremely easy to defeat. You often also run around for long periods of time without finding any. Why is this great? Well the thing is as you progress as your character what was once a dangerous road to travel on becomes a simple process. You really feel the effects of your leveling. Also weapons are often specialized and are not as generic as the ones found in Oblivion. While a sword is a sword you may be using a Holy Relic of the Church or you may be using just a plain sword you found off an enemy it really depends on your choices and the weapons you discover.

The thing is that once you reach a point, however, you find that all the enemies in the game are too easy to beat. Bosses on the main quest still are hard but this point is way too easy to get to, especially if you play a class like a thief where your main skills are often improved just by spending time in towns. There aren't too many forms of enemies either so it's very repetitive in that sense as well.

It's still a challenge though to attack a town (which you can do if you choose to) so even after you do reach that level you'll find things to do.

I liked not having the auto-leveling but it doesn't really match the needs of most mainstream console lovers so you may or may not like it. I'd say the only true drawback to the game I found was that even though I ignored the main quest it was possible to by mistake force the story forward by entering main quest areas (one for example I bumped into forced me to near the end of the game). It would have been nice if you had no met previous requirements not to have to load the last save to not put myself in that state.

A quick note on the expansions: they both are fun albeit Tribunal felt really short and you are isolated to the main town for the most part with a dungeon under the town --there are new enemies as well including some new Dwarven constructs so it is fun just seemed quick. You do find lots of new items to add to your character, however, and some of the quests are really fun to do. All in all Bloodmoon felt more challenging and had a lot of new interesting enemies that made the combat more engaging.

Still the game is solid and you'll have fun. Some quests are outright goofy, other tedious, but all around enjoyable. Worth buying since it's so cheap these days and you can decide if you enjoy it as well.

My girl friend bought me this game almost a year ago, and since then, It has been hard to put down.

From the great graphics to the superior gameplay this game is a must have for any PC user. With the included "Construction Set" one can make the game, basically, endless. Awesome enemies and remarkable AI makes this a tough game. I've spent well over 100 hours on it and I have completed most all the quests. Don't call me crazy, it is pretty easy to spend over an 3 hours before looking at the clock. The game can also offer Modification(MOD)s or Plu-in files from the internet. I really enjoyed the game, perhaps you will to.

Let me start by saying that Morrowind is a great game, and anyone fan of RPGs should buy it.

My problem is with the packaging of this particular item on amazon. It didn't come in that long box that is sort of pictured, instead it just came in a standard DVD type case, with the PC gamer logo all huge on the front. No book, and the disk didn't have any art on it, just some more PC gamer stuff and generic text for the title of the game. If ALL you want is the game itself, by all mean save the two dollars and buy this version. By being a collector and aesthetics being important to me, had I know it would have been in such generic and bland packaging, I would have shelled out the two extra dollars for the more slick and complete package.

Amazing game, good story, decent graphics and at least 80+ hours of game play. Unfortunately my Morrowind CD came with this weird sappy stuff on the outside (I bought it new). Also my tribunal didnt work.

Still great game I reccomend it to any RPG fan.

I know there are a lot of reviews about this game, but seeing the people that seem to think an RPG should be played 1 handed, and those that don't grasp the vast imagination this game both requires and motivates, I decided to write a review. Besides, this game changed my life.

No, no, not as in it made me a better person or made me rich and famous. It actually made me waste insane hours questing, much to my wife's annoyance. But before this game I despised Role Playing Games. THIS game, changed that, and unfortunately for all subsequent RPGs, set the bar exceedingly high for what I expect in a game.

Free form, true open world! Go anywhere, do anything. Pick a pocket, rob a house, taunt a guard until he attacks you and kill him in self defense, do pilgramages, fight vampires (possibly become one yourself), become a warewolf, contract diseases, heal diseases, seek out deadra to soul trap, use those trapped souls for enchantments, move up a political ladder, join a guild and work for them evenutally become their leader, fight a demi-god and restore peace to the game world, promptly find the "good" demi-god and kill him to trap his soul, read a book, read a lot of books, build a house. The list goes on and on and on. Now, I also don't want to be misleading, you can't just build a house anywhere unless you do so in the construction editor (free of charge). But there are 4 spots in the GOTY version that have premodeled houses that can be built for you, of which you can only get 2 of them legitimately. But you can always kill someone and take their house.

The point is, YOU decide what skills and attributes you want, YOU decide if your character will be good or bad or in between. It's up to YOU where you go, which quests you do, which you don't. I ignored the main story quest until I was level 50 my first play through. There is so much to do in the game that you need not bother with it. I actually feel sorry for those that power through the main quest with no thought of guilds, factions, or other random quests. You can literally become a vampire, join a vampire faction, and do quests for them! That's detail, my friends. But you do what you want, when you want.

The world you are immersed in is truly fantastic. There are giant mushrooms that the Telvanni live in, cities of them. There are giant shells in the ashlands that the Redoran people use as shelter. There are tribes that believe and live differently than the rest of the inhabitants. So much in this game reflects the real world around us (but much simpler), from the controversial Impirical take over of the ebony trade, to the even more controversial slave trade, to the religious differences between the Tribunal and Deadra worshippers (which is closely related to the main quest), to the struggle for power amoung the three great houses. There is just so much to this game beyond just another RPG.

The land is also amazing. Sometimes it can be barren. Sometimes it can be bleak. And yes, by some standards it can be a little lacking on graphics. Keep in mind the year this was made in, and the fact that every single object in the game is a 3D object, and that there are no level or map loads other than the final grid rendering as you run from place to place. Dynamic time and weather also helps make the world what it is. Additionally, keep in mind that you can find very well crafted mods that change the textures and meshes of just about any object in the game. I usually ran a mod that made all characters in the game smoother and more asthetically appealing, and suffered no ill effects on my game performance. So if the graphics are your problem, either get over it or grab a mod. Better Bodies is the one I use (and I use the Oblivion version as well) but there are others out there.

The story is pretty good. It gets confusing at times but it is supposed to. It is complex and there are different sides trying to tell you what to do. That's the way it was made.

The same goes for getting lost. Sure you'll get lost, that's how big the world is. That's also why they give you a map. I got lost on occassion, but you can skip that quest, come back to it later, or just keep searching. It's like getting bad directions in real life, it just adds to the realism.

The only downsides to the game are the few areas where you can get into a situation that you can't get out of (which is actually realistic and is why you carry a few intervention spells), the times when you can get stuck clipping onto the 3DOs, and the fact that NPCs drift aimlessly around town for no reason night and day. At least those are the only problems I had with the game. It could get very repetative but the point of the game is that you could get highly involved, or just do the bare essentials.

Anyway, I'll do my usual grading system, although it may be slightly different than the other games I've graded.

Story: 95%

Graphics: 85%

Physics: 90% (for the time, the physics were pretty good)

Gameplay: 90% (a bit repetative but great, again for the time)

Map/Level: 100%

Interface: 85% (could get cluttered but they left you room to customize it a little)

Artificial Intelligence: 75% (again, for the time it wasn't THAT bad but got very repetative and a bit unrealistic)

Detail: 100%

Replay Potential: 90%

Total score: 90%. I probably would rate much of that higher had I written this before I played Oblivion.

I love this game! It immediately sucks you in and gets your heart pumping like so many Splinter Cell titles before it.

One thing that I love about the format is that they've made it less linear and more interactive with the team that supports Sam. Each team member has their own special kind of side-missions that will earn you money and help you in the main plot.

They've added a lot of great touches like a phone to call Sarah and some good tension between the team members.

I haven't gone through the entire game yet so I will update my review after that but so far I am loving this game.

Regarding the RC Aircraft in the "Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition": It is definitely not a beginner's aircraft. The marketing material doesn't really mention it but the instructions explicitly tell you not to fly it without an "experienced RC pilot" in attendance to help you. So I think I will have fun with it but I wish that they'd been more explicit in the marketing materials that led me to purchase it.

All-in-all I am really enjoying my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great stealth-oriented FPS.

Let me be clear on this again, absolutely love the game. The plane was a horrendous idea. They should have tried for a cheap quad rotor rig. For starters, I was never able to get it to even lift off the ground. Ive been using the throttle up and chuck it into the air method with perfect success. The plane is highly unstable and highly uncontrollable. With only one control surface for pitch, yaw using terrible vector thrust to one motor or the other, and zero control of roll..... you basically have a plane that is constantly and literally all over the place. A small breeze of wind will take it right out of the sky. To make matters worse, the whole thing is styrofoam, and assembled in too many pieces. A few crashes, or hard landings is all it takes to make every part of the aircraft loose. After about 5 flights a nice turn or a little bit of wind in a turn can take the wing tips right off in mid flight. I shouldn't have wasted my money on this. The Youtube videos show just how unstable it is. At this point I only got 2 full charged trips to the park with it and its in shambles. If I want to try to fly it again, I will need to crush a much larger roll of tape to secure every part of it. I should have been smarter about that. For the record, I have 3 other planes and 2 helicopters and have experience flying up to 6 channels.

the wings came bent and cheaply built. especially for the cash........... i need to try and get my money back.

The game is probably one of the best in the series. The RC airplane is pure garbage and should no be sold. I followed the Video and Written instructions to the letter but it was a total failure.
