I'll admit that I was a bit wary before I purchased MLB 2K8 after witnessing a slew of Chicken Littles running around internet message boards, crying about frame rate and other issues, and watching a herd of self-proclaimed ex-fans of 2K Sports jumping ship to the PS3 and MLB: The Show. Nevertheless, as an avid follower of Major League Baseball and 360-owner I knew I would have to give the game a shot, and on a hunch that many of those shouting, "the sky is falling" were overreacting and/or trolls trying to start trouble, I bought the newest offering from 2K Sports and stuck it in my Xbox. After a bit of playing around I was able to confirm my suspicions. Don't listen to sheep--MLB 2K8 is a solid baseball experience, boasting several innovative gameplay features that outweigh the flaws.

2K8 introduces Precision Control Pitching, a system of pitching that allows players to imitate the movement of each pitch using the right control stick. Pitching is a three-step process: first, the player must choose a pitch by pointing the right control stick in one of five directions; second, the player slides the right control stick around in its axis for a breaking pitch or jolts the right control stick upwards or downwards for a fastball or change-up, respectively; third, the player releases the right control stick at the correct time to throw the pitch. This complicated procedure takes some getting used to and may turn off the more casual gamer, so thankfully 2K8 has included the option to use 2K7's more classic pitching technique. But those who are patient enough to figure out Precision Control will be rewarded with an authentic gaming experience that is also a lot of fun. When your in-game pitcher hangs a meat ball over the plate that is smashed against the centerfield wall, you'll know you legitimately screwed up the procedure instead of feeling as if you got jipped by crappy gameplay mechanics. On the other hand, when your pitcher drops a filthy 12-6 curve that retires the side, you'll have earned it.

Hitting has gone through some refurbishing in 2K8, resulting in the new and improved Swing Stick 2.0. Now, instead of pulling back on the right control stick and releasing to initiate a contact swing, and pushing the right control stick upward to initiate a power swing, the latter method is used for a contact swing; in fact, the power swing has been removed completely in order to reduce the amount of home runs from last year (in 2K7, big flies were more common than singles). Just like the pitching, the Swing Stick 2.0 requires some adjustment, so don't be surprised if you hit a lot of ground ball outs in your first game--timing is key. But after you get the timing down you should be pretty happy with the hitting in 2K8. It still has its issues, such as it being very difficult to discern whether an oncoming pitch is going to be a ball or a strike, but the movement of the right control stick in correlation with the gameplay is very accurate. And players who have trouble with the Swing Stick 2.0 can turn on the regular Swing Stick from 2K7 or "classic batting" (simply press `A' to swing) via the option menu.

The right control stick is also incorporated in fielding (surprise, surprise), as the player must hold the stick in the cardinal direction of a base (right for 1st base, up for 2nd base, etc.) and release to initiate the throw. But this too requires timing, as after the control stick is moved toward the direction of the base, a meter pops up by the fielder with the ball and quickly fills up. The meter will go from red to yellow to red again, and the most accurate throw will come in the yellow area. This makes fielding more fun and rewarding than simple button-mashing.

In terms of graphics, the character models are passable, although the faces for most players are badly-done and don't seem to fit with the rest of the body. Even if the faces are a bit off, the movements and quirks that each player brings to the plate or to the mound are captured brilliantly, helping the on-field action look and feel like a real game. 2K Sports worked hard to represent each stadium to great detail, and the aerial and inside views of the venues before the game are a nice touch.

Perhaps the biggest complaint by 2K8 critics is its choppy frame rate, which seems to affect only those playing on HD TV's. The game will often freeze momentarily and cause difficulties in gameplay. There are plans to release a patch in the near future that will fix this issue, and there are other unofficial methods of handling the problem in the mean time.

Online play is a disappointment for those with slow connections because lag throws off the timing and screws up the gameplay mechanics, so hopefully a patch will be released soon to fix that. The card system is a fun add-on for those looking for more than franchise mode, and it's always exciting to see which cards you earned after playing a game. I haven't toyed with the Player Beats or Stadium Beats yet, but as far as I know it allows the user to give walk-up songs to his in-game players, something that I've always wanted from a baseball game. The song choice for 2K8's menus is a bit odd; a lot of indie rock mixed with some more alternative stuff, but after an hour or two you'll be used to it.

All in all, 2K Sports did an excellent job with its third-party exclusivity this year, even if many critics will disagree. I have yet to play MLB 08: The Show, so I cannot say whether 2K8 is the better baseball game, but I can assure you that if you have the patience to figure out the new pitching, hitting and fielding mechanics and can look past the frame rate issues, you will be rewarded with a genuine baseball experience.

I have many complaints with this game.

First of all, it is pretty glitch heavy. It takes forever to load on several screens, and with no status bar that leaves the user wondering if the game has simply frozen.

Second of all, the learning curve is, as others have said, pretty damn steep. Pitching is insanely difficult. The slightest twitch in your thumb will frequently cause a wild pitch or the batter to slug a home run.

Third of all, the cut scenes during the game take way too long to load and are jerky. There is no smooth action to the gameplay. Even when I modified the settings to eliminate the cutscenes, the movement was still hesitant and jerky. During the fifth inning of one of my games during a batter change for the opposing team, the "End of Game" screen came up and announced that the game was over! I thought for a second, "Okay, cool. I'm winning," but when I got to the franchise screen it did not count that ball game as having been played.

Please rent before you buy. I'm glad I did. I almost shelled out $60 for this game until I remembered that I had a free rental coupon. There are far too many glitches in this game for me to find it entertaining.

Fun to play when the game does not freeze up. Too many glitches in Franchise mode to count. Cut scenes are horrible. IMPOSSIBLE TO DRAW A WALK even with the sliders turned completely to the left for AI pitching accuracy. I was very dissapointed considereing this is the 360 and we are now in the year 2008. MVP Baseball 2005 is far supperior to this. This is what happens when there is a monopoly. The game makers get lazy. One other thing, just like 2k07 the farther you get in franchise years the more bugs...

Honest reviews on Major League Baseball 2K8 - Xbox 360

I've been really, really trying to look past the bugs in this game, but I've finally hit my breaking point. This game is so full of bugs that it's unplayable. It literally freezes about 15% of the time for me. And no, it is not my Xbox. As a software developer, I understand that you cannot fix every bug or else you'd never ship. But to deliver a product with massive defects is inexcusable. Add in the fact that the opposing pitchers never throw balls and there is no contact swing, that seals the deal. 2K Sports -epic fail. I will not be buying MLB 2k9 no matter what.

I have always hated this series and assumed I would hate this version as well. I downloaded the demo and did not like it at first. I then played quite a bit of the demo and began seeing the amazing features that are hidden in this game until you get the controls down. After buying the game and playing it for a week I can now say it is the best baseball game I have ever played. Like Fight Night did for boxing, this game has done for baseball. You will never again want to press a button to throw the ball to a base or pitch. Those who gave it a negative review simply have not given the game enough time. There is no way someone could pan this game if they truly understood the controls.

My son loves the Skylander series, and with them selling individually like this, I am able to give him the ones he actually wants. Shipping could of been better (the package separated) but all in all, great.

This is an amazing Skylander! I purchased this toy for my little brother and thought the whole " rainbow twists of furry " thing ways corny. I eventually saw Whirl Wind progress and challenged my brother with one of my finest Skylanders, Drobot. I thought i would beat this Skylander with ease, but Whirl Wind sent my MAX leveled Swarm and Drobot to school! I envy this Skylander's power!!!

Whirlwind is a really awesome skylander. She shoots out rainbows, storm clouds, and can fly. As you may know, each skylander has an upgrade path. My opinion is that the rainbow path is better, because she can make a rainbow portal that demolishes enemies. She has great long range attacks, and she may look pretty and lame, but she is awesome, even for boys.

Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell - Nintendo DS Reviews

Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell - Nintendo DS

I was expecting this game to be junk. Most of the licensed DS games are, unfortunately. However, this is one exception to the rule. I bought it for my daughter who is frankly, too young to play it. She is almost four and loves Tinkerbell. This game requires you to be able to read though, and at a second or third grade level. The "game" basically is like a fetch-it RPG without any battles. You talk to other fairies that populate the Disney Fairies world and they will ask you to help them find things or to retrieve items from other fairies. Once you complete a set of tasks and gather enough items you go through a change of seasons, and then have to help collect various things to make autumn come, (or winter, spring, summer).

Some fairies have mini games that you can play that will earn you various items in the game. You arrange spots on ladybugs, capture dewdrops and other simple games. All of this is fairly standard fare for a kid's DS title.

What makes the game standout is the GRAPHICS. They are absolutely GORGEOUS. Using still backgrounds (that look to be from the movie), the TinkerBell world is absolutely gorgeous. From sunflower fields to TinkerBell's quaint little fairy home (looks a bit like an acorn), to falling leaves, every screen is a treat. The music is nice too and the animations for the fairies are gorgeous. Tinkerbell is easy to move around and looks great flying. I was very impressed with the visual presentation, despite the fact that the backgrounds are mostly static. There's alot of variety, too.

My daughter likes to just fly TinkerBell around, but other, older girls would probably enjoy the game alot. Its simple, but pretty and has no violence either.

My 8 year old daughter is a big Disney Never Fairy fan. She has read all the books and loved the new Tinkerbell movie. I was excited to see this game. She has never enjoyed playing games, since she outgrew her Leapster. Once she opened the game and began playing it, it was difficult to get her to stop. It is like the magic of the fairy world has come alive for her.

There is a lot of reading on about a 3rd grade level involved with this game. There is also a certain amount of dexterity required to accomplish some of the game features.

I have also played the game, and as an adult, I enjoy it too!

I recommend this game to Disney Never Fairy fans!

(I'm using my mom's account) I thought this game was going to stink because it's a game from a movie, and most games that come from movies are horrible. But this game is my favorite out of the 3 DS games that I have!!! You play as Tinkerbell but you can change her outfit. It's like an RPG game JUST for girls! You go around playing fun minigames, bringing the four seasons to the Mainland, fixing things for friends, making accessories, finding things for your friends, and you can have your "fortune" told to you by Tinkerbell. If you LOVE Tinkerbell as much as I do, then you should get this game!!!

Honest reviews on Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell - Nintendo DS

I feel that the chat rooms that come with this title are not appropriate for the target age group. This is a very nice game for a 6-10 year old girl. It can keep them occupied for hours. What I don't understand is why the chat rooms are available on this title. True, a user can not input their own text if they are not registered, but they can get into the chat rooms and view the text that others input. I think that it is a major flaw with this title, and something that parents should be aware of. I think that Nintendo Wi-fi for games like Mario Kart is great fun and completely harmless, but I think the chat rooms should not be included on titles for young kids, or at least should not allow text entry by any users, whether they are registered or not. They should include text entry only on titles directed to older users.

My daughter is 6 1/2 and has never liked video games very much. She will play for a little while and then move on to other things. We rented Tinkerbell to see if she would like it (she loves the Fairy series books). It was the FIRST time she has ever not wanted to put a game down. She figured the game out without any instructions and loved flying Tinkerbell around and meeting other fairies. Graphics are outstanding and Tinkerbell and the other fairies are adorable. It was a sad day when we had to return the rental but I have already picked one up for Christmas.

NOTE: As other posters have mentioned, you do need to be an independent reader to play without parental help.

I bought the 3 pack of Skylanders Giants for my 12 year old grandson for Christmas. He loved them! I didn't have a clue what they were or why he wanted them but after watching him play the game I now understand!

Those who have played Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, could see this coming from a mile away. Activision releases limited edition "legendary" characters exclusive to Toys R Us. In addition to this 3 pack, a Legendary Bouncer giant has also been released.

Be aware that legendary Skylanders are more like collector's items, because of their exclusivity. If you intend to play with them, I suggest you keep the figures in the box and put the whole box on the portal (it can be done, even when using the online Spyro's Universe), because when the Toys R Us stock runs out, the legendary figures skyrocket in value.

If you're new to Skylanders, I suggest you play with a few of the characters to see which ones you're most comfortable with. The legendary characters are just like the regular versions except with slightly better stats (more luck and attack power) and that blue/black and gold colour scheme. Their abilities are no different from the standard versions of these characters.

I'd only recommend forking out for legendary Skylanders if you seriously want to "buy 'em all" and ONLY from Toys R Us, don't feed the scalpers around here.

It's often said the the third time's the charm, and in the case of Forza Motorsport 3, that couldn't be more true. FM3 manages to improve upon it's predecessors in almost every imaginable way. If you've played Forza Motorsport 2, you're probably aware that the game wasn't designed with casual gamers in mind. FM3 changes this, and finally brings the franchise to a level that it has appeal not only as an uber-realistic racing simulator, but also as an entertaining racing game that just about anyone can pick up and enjoy. The addition of autobraking and rewind undoubtedly make things easier on newcomers, while the tweaked physics engine and ramped-up AI will give even the most die-hard Forza fanatics a run for their money. With over 400+ cars and 100+ tracks, one would be hard-pressed to get bored with this game.

Without a doubt, the two most significant improvements are the graphics and the new "Storefront". Forza Motorsport 3 displays in a native 720p (upscaled to 1080p by the console) running at 60 fps. This translates to a rich, detailed, and smooth-flowing picture that makes you feel like you're actually racing in Le Mans. To further immerse gamers, Turn 10 added a true in-cockpit view that was rendered to be a perfect likeness of the real life car. The environment and tracks weren't spared from this graphic overhaul either, and I often found myself going on free rides just to scope out the scenery and enjoy the ride.

Glossy graphics aside, the "meat" of the game is still incredibly satisfying. Those who were avid players of FM2 can testify to the integral part that online activities played. Don't worry, as Turn 10 was obviously aware this and made sure to spice things up just for you. Painting cars, applying vinyls and decals, and selling customized cars in FM3 couldn't be easier. In fact, this practice is encouraged with the addition of the new "Storefront". Players now have the ability to sell not only liveries for cars, but also tuning configurations. Making a name for yourself as an artist in Forza Motorsport 3 is a definite goal for some, but even those who lack the finesse required to create liveries can benefit from the changes.

Overall, this game not only meets all expectations set forth by hardcore FM2, but exceeds them. Those of you who are looking for a fun and relaxed racing game won't be disappointed though, as Forza Motorsport 3 was also designed with you in mind. I would, without a doubt, recommend the purchase of this game. The only downside is that the game comes with two disks (and a total of 1.9 GB of data) and necessitates the use of a hard drive if you plan on adding the bonus content (100+ cars and 3 environments).

(UPDATE November 4, 2009) Numerous reviews have been posted addressing the shortcomings concerning the online multiplayer mode. They are correct. Turn 10 absolutely perfected the single player aspect of this game with "Season Mode" but, upon playing a few hours in the online multiplayer mode (which, due to all the waiting, is only two or three races) a glaring flaw reveals itselfTurn 10's "reset" of the new matchmaking system sucks. A lot. Gone are the days of creating your own custom party. Gone are the days of racing sub-A class cars. Gone are the glory days of online multiplayer.

While this may not be a huge deal to me (I mostly play single-player anyways), it's definitely a problem that NEEDS to be addressed. I've also noticed some problems in single player mode..

* Some in-car views aren't interactive, or don't render correctly.

* While the sound of cars has been vastly improved, there are still some problems. It seems that the exhaust note is based solely on displacement of the engine. A Camaro shouldn't sound like a Murcielago.

* Uploading the "Movies" doesn't work unless they're shot in low-res. 720p videos just don't upload.

* The "Performance Index" is broken. A Dodge Ram with a PI of 700 should, logically, perform on par with a Lamborghini Reventon with a PI of 700, right? Well, that's not how it works. I don't know how the PI is calculated, but it's not right.

* The resolution of Photomode leaves alot to be desired. While it's understandable that there needs to be a limit on file size to relieve strain on Turn 10's servers, I feel that the quality of the pictures doesn't do the game justice.

* Everything sold in the Storefront has a price cap of 10,000 credits. While this is just temporary, it's a huge disincentive at to spend hours upon hours perfecting a quality livery to be sold.

* The AI occasionally does stupid things. Though it's rare, I've seen opponents slam on their brakes for no reason when they're in the lead, slam into walls, or just stop driving. I don't know if these are just glitches, or the AI trying to be "more human". Whatever the cause, it's not right.

First, let's get this clear...I am not a die hard racing gamer. I don't have that much time. I wish I did but I don't. I have long said that the ideal game experience provided for two kinds of gamers. The game should provide that hard-earned sense of accomplishment for those fortunate to have the skills and time to earn their way to the top. More power to them. But hang on. I still spent $60 for this game and I should have a way to get access to all it offers too (or at least most of it). I want a game provides for both.

Sure, there needs to be a way to tell whether someone earned it or just switched it on. But don't force me to spend hour-after-hour trying to earn level after level. I don't have that much time to devote to a game. I know that some would say that if I don't have the time, I shouldn't buy the game. But I think there are many people like me so it should be a win-win.

This is why I like this game so much. It lets me enjoy the fun of just jumping in some really cool cars and taking laps around really cool tracks. It has assists that allow me to enjoy the limited time I have with the game to the max.

And for those that might not consider this, it puts this game in the reach of my son, who is developmentally disadvantaged. It allows us to enjoy it together.

Let's see great car selection, great track, great flexibility in how to configure it to play all add up to a great game.

Best Deals for Forza Motorsport 3 - Xbox 360

I'll start by saying that I have never played this or Forza 2 online. My online experience is limited to Call of Duty. If you're looking for a review of the controversial multiplayer mode, there are plenty of good ones from other gamers.

That said, in single player mode this game is amazing. Not perfect, but very, very good. I absolutely loved Forza 2, so I was concerned that Turn 10 might alter the new game in ways that would be frustrating. Well, they did...but they made up for it (mostly) with lots of great new features. I am a hard-core driving simulator enthusiast; except on the most frustrating factory stock races, I play everything with the AI difficulty on "hard," stability control off, and manual transmission mode. Despite this, Turn 10 has provided options to make the game EVEN HARDER or considerably easier. In fact, this is one of the biggest new feature sets, which allows a player with just about any level of experience to set the game up to their liking. While I won't use things like "autobraking" or the recommended racing line, I don't have to.

Of course, Forza is all about cars, and Forza 3 delivers tons of them. Counting the DLC, which keeps coming out, there are well over 400. Chances are, unless you are a huge fan of Japanese "kei" cars or obscure pre-war European roadsters from long-disbanded manufacturers, you will find your favorite automobile in this game. (Gran Turismo should cover you in the cases I mentioned).

Forza 3 also improves upon Forza 2 with its selection of tracks. The classics are still here (including my favorite Maple Valley) and with lots of new details thanks to the improved graphics, but new tracks debut as well, including the beautiful and extensive Amalfi Coast and the fictional series of Spanish tracks billed as "Camino Viejo de Montserrat." Additionally, the gorgeous Fujimi Kaido from Forza 1 makes a reappearance.

Forza 2 had tons of customization, and Forza 3 has even more. While everything is just about the same, there are a few new things you can do such as adding oil coolers. On the other hand, it has also been simplified a bit; you can't choose what brand of tires you install, for example.

Gameplay is just as good as before, with an improved physics engine that allows rollovers. The graphics are phenomenal, each car is exquisitely detailed, and there is a full cockpit view from which you can drive. If you are an extreme hard-core racer, you can even choose to drive with a button for the clutch. This is beyond me because in real life I use feet to operate the gas, brake, and clutch while my hands can concentrate on steering and shifting. Doing it all with my hands is too confusing.

Now, the negatives. No game is perfect, and Forza 3 has its share of flaws. The first thing that annoyed me was the "race announcer." He won't shut up. His bass-rich, nostalgic easy-listening voice can be heard any time you try to enter a car into a race for which it doesn't qualify (which I often do in order to quickly see which ones I own that DO qualify).

Another big problem is the acquisition of cars. In Forza 2, you got cars for leveling up via XP, and you received a car for each race series you won. In Forza 3, you do get cars for leveling up, but you stop leveling up about 1/4 of the way through the game; meanwhile, winning race series only gives you money...not enough money. I decided that I wanted to own all the cars in the game, since I did pay real money for this opportunity to virtually drive them, and so with 3/4 of the races completed, I tallied up the cars remaining and found I still needed $110,000,000 to buy them all. Considering that a typical, mid-length race at my advanced level of difficulty only nets about $18,000, that was going to take a while. Part of this is due to a single vintage Ferrari priced at $20,000,000. The cars are just too expensive. It's my own fault for wanting them all, but hey, I should be able to do that.

In their attempt to make the game appeal to a wider range of players, Turn 10 also added some unnecessary drama. There is an entirely repetitive animation at the beginning of each race depicting your car rolling up to the line and revving its engine. While they do stick to realism here (old cars with soft suspension will bounce when they stop at the line), the revving is tacky, and more critically, it removes your opportunity to bring your RPMs to the correct level for a good launch. A successful launch off the line is often the key to getting ahead of rivals who may be hard to pass elsewhere. Forza 3 made this impossible, which is extremely ridiculous considering that an all-new race type is drag racing. The launch is the MOST critical part of a drag race!!

The rewind feature has drawn some criticism from die-hard gamers, but I think it's good. You really don't have to use it, but I certainly have. It's easier than restarting a race (which takes a long while) and in long, tedious races it can save you a ton of headaches. However, it doesn't always work. Seriously. Sometimes, when you need it most, it just isn't an option. The most notable time for me was in the third-to-last lap of an endurance race. At the end of the long straight, I got incredibly distracted by something else (perhaps my own thoughts) and failed to brake. Instead of immediately braking and swerving when I realized this, I moved my hand so that I could hit the rewind button. It did nothing, and by the time I figured that out and got back to the brakes, my car had covered the sand beyond the track and smacked the wall, wrecking its front. Fortunately, the engine was OK, and I still won the race, but it's good to know you can't always rely on the rewind button.

The addition of lousy in-game music is simply a waste of disc space (which is an issue, since you have to install almost 2GB of data on your hard drive in order to play all of the game).

Overall, Forza 3 makes some great improvements (rollovers, more cars, awesome graphics, new tracks) over its predecessor, but it is not perfect. However, it does allow novice and experienced racers alike to jump in and play, and completing the game will take hundreds of hours, making it just as much of a total immersive long-haul experience as its prior installments.

Honest reviews on Forza Motorsport 3 - Xbox 360

This is by far the most technically accurate driving simulator I've played. I bought it primarily for the chance to drive the Circuit de la Sarthe and drive the Audi R10 TDI and although I've not yet gotten the R10 yet, the Circuit de la Sarthe is pure virtual bliss! The single player experience is one of the best I've played of any racing game and the seasons and tracks and available cars make for hours of fun.

The variety of vehicles is varied enough to keep anyone engaged and the ability to nearly infinitely customize not only the mechanics of the cars but the actual set ups as well in terms of suspension tuning, spoilers, tires, etc. In addition, the in-depth ability to customize the looks of the cars is awesome!

But, it's not all fun and games on the Circuit de la Sarthe... I am EXTREMELY annoyed with the lack of ability to create one car design/paint scheme and apply it to multiple cars. This is disastrous! Why spend all the time to create a great design for a car and only be able to apply it to that specific car???? Ideally, you could create a great paint/graphics scheme and apply to any car... it might need to be tweaked for that car but at least the basics would be there. The second disappointment is the multiplayer experience... you cannot play this with a friend on your own xbox... the only multiplayer is via xbox live which, in my opinion, is great for Halo, GRAW, etc., but mediocre at best for racing games...

If not for the disappointing multiplayer and the car design limitations I would absolutely have rated this a 5.

After a short 2 year development Forza returns with some impressive changes: a new physics system, about double the tracks, 100 more cars, improved graphics and additions to the difficulty and the storefront. Note that this is a review of only the single player part of the game.

Short Review

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gameplay 8/10 New physics engine adds life to the races, tires play a larger role, weight is much more noticeable and the game is generally more realistic

Graphics 8/10 astonishing detail, interior view, beautiful new tracks set in the mountains, mirroring and reflections are a step up; but maybe not as good as GT5

Features 8/10 a few new difficulty settings (autobrake, manual w/clutch) more car classes, racing season added, auto upgrade feature, loads of new camera angles for replay; ability to buy tuning setups and create art for the vinyl

Races and Tracks 7/10 new, real tracks add to the simulation and much more variation between tracks, but somewhat redundant racing in the event list, far too many "repeat races" and low level races

Cars 9/10 realism trumps any racing game I've played if not any video game I've played, the look, the feel and the tuning of these cars makes this a true simulator

Sound 9/10 engine sounds are very accurate from the four cylinders to the V-12 engines, each has a distinctive note, superchargers and turbos can be heard as well as crashes and tires gripping, very believable

Gameplay 8 of 10

Let me begin by saying that the racing in Forza 3 is not so much revolutionary as it is evolutionary; as you might expect with two games on the same console. The physics worked well for Forza 2 and they've added realism here as opposed to reinventing the wheel, no pun intended. You do essentially the same thing as you would have done in Forza 2. The racing hasn't changed. The cars and tracks have.

There are a few essential things that have been changed which directly effect gameplay in Forza 3. Not the least of which is the rewind button (or whatever it is being called). It is exactly what you think you can rewind the race many times throughout the race in five second intervals. It's very handy if you happen to be racing an endurance race and you accidentally forget to make a turn on the last lap. The second major piece of the change in gameplay is the physics system. As you might guess, it's improved. Cars now have the ability to flip over completely (multiple times even), driving is much more dependent on weight, tires can lose grip while the car shifts from side to side or on sharp turns and racing seems to be based much more on the tuning of the suspension.

I've heard complaints about cars being able to flip on the game. First, if you don't believe a car will flip at even low speeds go on your favorite video website and search for car accidents. Secondly, the driving elements in determining if a car will flip are: mass (really rotational inertia) and velocity. Put those together and you get momentum. There are many other forces in play for sure, but can be considered negligible. In other words, a heavy thing going fast gives high momentum and energy and the energy HAS to go somewhere. If it happens to run into another relatively heavy thing going fast, the cars could flip. And if flipping is possible, everything else is just not as difficult to believe.

The physics system is amazing, but it was already really good for Forza 2. It's been said that with all the assists off, even the slow cars are fun to drive because you really notice the difference between them. This is true to a certain extent, but I'd have to disagree with the idea that the slow cars are fun. I found much of the early races in the Event List to be repetitive and more like driving on a highway.

The AI is pretty impressive. I honestly can't say just how good they are because I normally am far ahead of the pack by the end of the first lap. But, they certainly do react to you. If you try to take the inside corner, sometimes they'll cut you off or sometimes they won't if it could cause an accident. If you try to hit them or make them spin out, the AI will fight back and adjust to stay straight. They're pretty good at it. And when you play on hard, they'll manage to complete perfect laps while avoiding you. If you own the game and aren't getting enough of a challenge, turn off just the ABS, use manual shifting and put the opponent difficulty on hard. You won't believe how much skill it takes to manage braking while at high speeds without an anti-lock brake system.

Graphics: 8 of 10

Visuals are considerably improved in pretty much every aspect. I will admit however, you really do need to own an HDTV to notice a substantial difference. Instead of describing the cars, I'll explain the differences between the two games. In Forza 2 the cars were all dimensionally correct; details down to the brake calipers and slotted rotors were shown; cars had a reflective quality where you could see the sky in the paint. But generally they looked too "CGI-ish." In Forza 3 Turn 10 went to mind-boggling levels of clarity and detail. Now there is a new view inside the car where the interior can be seen in great detail; the headlight show clear 3-D aspects.

The headlights, in fact reflect light differently than the metal which is just like a real car. In fact if you're really observant you can see the design on the tire sidewall. Paint looks like real car paint as the sheen changes depending on where you see it from. Chrome just looks amazing, it's hard to even describe how close to reality they came on this. This is the first game I've ever played that I think even I could confuse with reality if just taking a glance at it. The new tracks are gorgeous, especially "Camino Viejo De Montserratt," which is a track set on the side of a mountain overlooking a serene lake. The artists even took the time to put in small outcroppings of grass sticking up from the ground. One of the most unbelievable parts about the visuals is that the game runs at 60 frames per second which gives an ultra smooth animation to the action.

To the dissenters of the graphics, I won't discredit your opinion because it's all subjective. However, if you don't see a noticeable change, I'd recommend playing it on a proper HDTV with an HD connection. I'm doubtful the game will strike you as impressive if you're running it with anything less than component cables. And if that doesn't work, you might need glasses.

Features: 7 of 10

The number of features has gone up to a certain extent. Something new on the difficulty setting called an autobrake allows even the most casual or driving challenged people to be competitive. Another really interesting part of the difficulty is the manual with clutch shifting arrangement, which is on the advanced racer end of the spectrum. Just like in a real car you need to let off the gas, press in the clutch and then get the revs to match the next gear. Sounds difficult on a game controller doesn't it? It is. Unfortunately it's almost useless without a racing wheel that has a clutch because you can easily ruin your powertrain by not shifting properly. It doesn't get much more realistic than this.

The player's storefront is a really nice aspect of the game. Gamers can take photos of their car, videos of races and even create art to sell for credits. Advanced racers can help out others by selling their tuning setups for certain cars. All of the features from Forza 2 are here with quite a few new ones. What impresses me most is that the game caters to essentially all types of racers. If you're more of an arcade racer, turn on autobrake and the full racing line and just gas it. If you're a super serious simulator, turn off all the assists and you really get to feel the essence of the car, the weight, the acceleration.

Another of the less looked upon parts is the presentation. It is a lot cleaner looking and is somewhat easier to use. The appearance and even the sounds resemble Gran Turismo 4's interface. Another feature for the more casual racing enthusiast allows a class upgrade or downgrade. Here's how it works: let's say you want to enter a class B race and your car is an class E; you can have the automated Forza 3 tuner to pick out all your parts and bring it up to the class you need so that it is competitive (which of course costs money) or you can have it downgrade your car so you can race in one of the more restrictive races. It is a pretty ingenious idea. Instead of spending 5-10 minutes picking out parts and then maybe another hour tuning your car, you can just race right away. This is another one of those things that I don't use myself, but would be great for many.

Races and Tracks 7 of 10

Unfortunately this is the Achilles' heel of the game and was with Forza 2. Turn 10 did a wonderful job trying to integrate as many types of cars as possible in so that you not only get a feel for the slower cars first, but so that the vast majority of the cars in the game are used. The setup is very similar to Forza 2, however the hitch is the restrictions put on the races. Many of the lower class races have restrictions such as "only stock" or car must be F class or less than 200 hp for example.

One of the earlier races is a Yaris race. For those who don't know what a Yaris is; it's a very small Japanese economy car. I don't know about anybody else, but I don't consider this a race car or even a sports car. In fact there are at least 10-15 cars I think shouldn't be in the game. And if you want to totally finish the game, you or your hired driver will have to race at least six races in this car. Another problem is there is just flat out too many low class and "repeat" races. There must be 15 events (sets of races) which include F class cars or F class Euro cars. This makes the beginning of the game incredibly boring. And if you're a little OCD like me, you'll want to finish the earlier parts of the game first. I don't care how you spin it. F class cars are boring to drive.

New tracks and track setups have really added more intrigue to the game. Now there are about 20 track locations and each location has multiple track maps making for around 100 different tracks. They've also added ¼, ½ and 1 mile drag strips and a ton of new speed rings. Most of the old tracks are back with a few new ones Motegi, Sedona, Rally Di Positano, Amalfi Coast. There is still no Monaco Gran Prix, which is the one I was hoping for. And as I had feared, they removed even more of the imaginary tracks that were really fun to drive. Overall, I think the tracks have improved but with the downside of losing some of the fun-to-drive fake locations.

Cars 9 of 10

The cars in Forza 3 are by far the most realistic entity I've yet seen in a game; from the graphics to the tiny little details these are a marvel of computer programming and dedication to accuracy. Each car is so close to the actual car in so many ways. Light cars brake more easily. Rear wheel drive cars spin out. But each spins out in a different way. A muscle car loses complete control, whereas a Maza Miata ® will spin out usually at a really high speed. No two cars are alike literally.

You might notice when your car rolls up to the start line at the beginning of the race that the front end dips just a tad because of the forward momentum. Every minute detail of a car was enlisted into the game. A lot of these things many will never notice, but the people at Turn 10 took the time to bring a level of authenticity I've not seen before in a game.

My only issue with the cars is: I'm pretty sure there was some "quid pro quo" going on with the car manufacturers. In other words, after talking with the car manufacturers there was most likely some conversations that went like this "we'll let you use car X if you agree to also put in car Y." Because of this, in the game there are boring economy cars which don't even belong in a racing simulator much less be given the honor of having their own race.

Sound 9 of 10

Considering this games focuses on ultra-realism, sounds definitely need to be accurate and they really are spot on with this game. Most of the cars sound very similar to their real life counterpart. They managed to get a true V8 sound and not just one version. Anybody who knows anything about V8s is that no two sound alike. A BMW V8 from their E92 M3 will not sound like a 426 Hemi on a Challenger. Six cylinder engines sound very good from what I can surmise. Even the four cylinders have a different tone for each car. This just harkens back to the idea of no two cars being the same, even from the same manufacturer. Tire squeals, crashes, blow off valves, superchargers and even shifting noises are all present in Forza 3. If you listen really carefully, you can hear the click of the gear lever changing gears, which shows an incredible attention to detail. The sounds from the game are realistic, seem accurate and take you one step closer to being on the track.

In conclusion, this game is the best racing simulator out right now and is possibly the most realistic game I've ever played. Unfortunately, that means it isn't necessarily the most fun I've had in a game. But if you're a car enthusiast or a racing fan, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Forza doesn't just do cars well; it does just about everything well which is why I'd rate it a 9 out of 10 overall.

I have been looking for a replacement for my official wired controller because it had slow turn and also the rb button stopped working. I waited for the Razer onza which I had high hopes for and was seriously let down by it due to the fact that you couldnt even press the thumbsticks down while they were fully moved in any position and that the sticks felt so inconsistent with the tightening mechanism. So I saw this nice little controller from mad catz. I have been weary of their products in the past but after owning a fight stick and the quality of it changed my mind. This controller looks simialr to the COD one from mad catz. I cannot comment on that one but this controller is awesome. Here is why.

Pros

The thumbsticks are super smooth and click with authority.

The rb and lb also click with nice feedback.

The flat top a,b,x,y buttons are great (might not be for everybody but I like them)

Soft touch coating feels amazing.

The tumbsticks light up 3 different colors! (impractical but very cool nonetheless)

Cons

The dpad could be better but it works fine.

Placement of the extra buttons makes them a little difficult to use.

If you are looking for a good wired replacement controller I would highly recommend this one.

Everything good that people say about this is true. It's lightweight, responsive, the customizable LED lights look great. Never needs re-charging. I like that because it's an x-box controller it has a breakaway cable so my motherboard doesn't get destroyed when my dogs run bye, or anyone else for that matter. The rubber on the analog sticks and side-grips feels nice. The buttons are solid, the d-pad feels much better than a 1st party x-box controller, as do all four triggers. The analog sticks are kinda light, that's not really a gripe, but I wish they felt a but more solid, however, because of this I think it gains responsiveness. It's the best for twitch gaming. I've played a lot of games with it now including Assassin's Creed 3, Hitman: Absolution, Deadlight, and I even played in the Firefall beta (1st and 3rd person shooter/MMO). It's absolutely perfect. PLUG AND PLAY on Windows 7. Drivers download and load right up. No work whatsoever! ...Now wouldn't it be a better world if everything was the same way? I've had mine for 2 weeks and everything feels exactly like it did upon unboxing. The mappable back buttons are responsive and have a nice light click, it's good to have the ability to map those, being that a lot of PC games have more complicated or numerous control schemes. I'm not crazy about the blue color, and I wish I had black (I just think it looks nicer, personally. Especially since the LED colors are yellow, red, and lime green. They just don't look good in contrast. That's a purely aesthetic preference. It was the last one Gamestop had though, and I had to have it right then and there. The reason I agree so heavily with the positive reviews of each feature is that I checked the Amazon reviews in the store and put my faith in every positive (and negative) thing I read. The negative reviews are completely off-base. That is, except for the DOA ones...which happens to even the best of companies, even for the best computer hardware. That said...

I worked at Gamestop for years and have been an avid gamer all my life. The rule was NEVER, I mean NEVER EVER, buy MadCatz anything. By official or the Logitech(huge Logitech fan here) was always the only safe bet. Brand new MadCatz controllers, among other things, were being returned left-and-right on the same day (It was such a pain in the butt shipping those defected peripherals back to the warehouse). Well, apparently they have quality tiers and this is the Cadillac-Level tier, OR they stepped up their game in a big way. Okay, I'm off to play Xenoblade Saga on my Wii emulator with my favorite controller I've owned. Time to see how well it handles JRPGs, I'd be willing to bet anything that it will do just fine.

Hope this helped you...and Game On!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Historically, I haven't always been a fan of Mad Catz products. In the past I've found their controllers to be bulky with poor ergonomics and features I'd rarely use.

This one is an exception.

For starters, it slips into your hand as comfortably as official Xbox 360 controllers -even has non-slip grips to help them stay firmly in hand -and yet feels somehow more sturdy. One guesses this controller could take a beating. This controller feels good.

The analog sticks and buttons are all placed identically to the official controller, and each are just as responsive. The triggers have been tweaked, and for the better. They're not as large, meaning faster response when shooting, zooming, etc. The bumpers are better placed, too, putting them in easier reach and again helping improve response times.

Buttons on the back allow you to remap controller settings on the fly. A solid feature, thought not one I use often.

The LED lights under the analog sticks are pretty, but that's pure style over substance. I keep them off.

I've played through RPGs, shooters, arcade games and racing games with this controller and have been pleased all around. If you're in need of a replacement, this is recommended.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Officially licensed F.P.S. Pro Wired GamePad

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The FPS Pro for the XBOX 360 is officially licensed and is a nice, sturdy product. The plastic and rubber is high quality and has a nice feel to it. The joypad is neither to big nor too small and fits well in my medium sized hands. The contours on the back of the pad allow me to comfortably rest my pinky, ring, and middle fingers while I am playing.

The two rubberized sections on the sides has some treads(like a tire) so my palm can rest nicely without slipping during heavy gameplay. The pad itself features four shoulder buttons placed horizontally and vertically. The horizontal/vertical layout I found to be intuitive and aids during gameplay.

The two analog sticks are smooth and control well. The choice of four lighted colors below the analog sticks look cool, but also has a function. You can adjust the "Combat" button settings(LSB,RSB,Y,X,A,B) wit a corresponding color to remember the button settings.

The gamepad also comes with a USB cable adaptor to allow you to use this pad for your PC or laptop gaming, very convenient. The only drawback I found with this pad is that the directional pad is a little stiff(not an issue if you mostly use the analog sticks). Otherwise this is a great gamepad that is high quality, responsive during gameplay, and is versatile.

Last year's Call of Duty Finest Hour was a totally new game, using a similar engine to Medal of Honor on the consoles. It didnt feel like the PC game in any respects really. People who complained then, will now be totally happy. Big Red One not only looks fantastic (near PC graphics), it feels and plays just as great as it's PC brothers. I feel a hint of Medal of Honor European Assault every once and awhile but this game is far more polished and thought out. The storyline is a major draw in, offering some great character moments. I read some of the guys that starred in the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers do some voice work in the game, however I haven't picked up on it quite yet, although I've got some ideas. On thing is for certain...Mark Hammil (star of Big Red One movie from 1981) narrates this epic game and does a very nice job. I recently bought Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood for xbox aswell and if your asking me to make a buying decision for you I'd say...

1. Big Red One is more run and gun, Earned in Blood is tactical.

2. This game is far more family friendly, Earned in Blood ISN'T.

3. Both games offer unique gameplay and are both worth 50 bucks.

If your looking for a rich new experience that has the polish of a great PC game, please do yourself a favor and buy this game. There are at least 5 WWII themed games coming out for the Holidays this year and Big Red One is diffenetly a winner. The A.I. is revolutionary for a console game offering such epic action scenes. The weapons are standard fare in a WWII game, but are more enjoyable than ever, seeming more powerful. Levels are diverse and I was thouroly impressed with each one, the D-Day beach landing is a very special thing for me in this game as it was the recreation of this scene in Medal of Honor Frontline that sucked me into the WWII franchise. Activision and Tyrench's take on the greatest invasion of all time is incredibley intense. And yes I have managed to cruise through the game very fast. The Battle of the Bulge, as well as the early Africa levels are great, as are the Normandy levels (its just Normandy has been used so many times in videogames) The ending levels in Germany are very fun and you feel such a great sense of accomplishment after beating the game, which should take 12 to 14 hours. 10 out of 10. Thanks for reading.

If your like me, you saw the medal of honor franchise stagnating, not exactly in decline, but there was little forward movement. Then along came Call of Duty Finest Hour. Wow. Well if you liked Finest Hour but didnt see what else could be done, look no further than Big Red One, which takes gamers into chapters of WW2 history that many people sadly dont know. Beginning in 1942, Two years before D-Day, and thus two years before any previous WW2 video game, this game brings the gamer, with the same squad of characters through the entire European theater, from the First clashes against the Vichy French in Algeria, to clashes with Afrika Korp and Italians in Tunisia. Unlike other games Africa is not merely a small two level affair, BRO gives it the sense of importance it deserves with over a quarter of the game happening there. Then its off to Sicily where you help knock Italy out of the war. I especially enjoyed fighting the Italians for a change, new weapons, vehicles and such. Once you get to France you realize just how tenacious the Germans are, and the game progressivly gets more challanging until you reach Germany itself. Definitely an amazing perspective, and a more realistic one. The average soldier did not, as Medal of Honor would tell you, end up in the OSS blowing up endless secret german or japanese weapons behind enemy lines, they would in fact be fighting inch by inch with their squad for the duration, and thats what stays with you when you finish this game, the sense of how long and hard the war was on the average soldier. Knowing that for the guys who landed in Algeria in 42, the odds were against them living to see the war end in 45

Best Deals for Call of Duty 2 Big Red One - Xbox

Call of Duty: Big Red One is a solid WWII-based first-person shooter with tight controls and a convincing marriage of scripted cinemas and dynamic action. With bullets whizzing by, planes soaring overhead, and explosions rocking the battlefield, the game definitely captures the intensity of war that up until recently was only duplicated in movies. Sure enough, it's during these frantic moments, which are plentiful, that gamers will find themselves fully captivated and entertained.

But the experience is still not perfect. In its attempt to direct the action as it would a movie, the developer has either by design or by accident compromised the non-linear structure of levels and I think that is a mistake. I understand the choice, but in my experience it has at least partly backfired. The go-anywhere freedom associated with conventional FPSs is not in Big Red One. Players are sometimes unmistakably limited to set paths and running into invisible barriers occasionally breaks from the immersive true-world presentation that the title aspires to deliver. It's not a make or break shortcoming -the game is still fun -but it is nevertheless a noteworthy frustration.

Honest reviews on Call of Duty 2 Big Red One - Xbox

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is a very nice first-person shooter. You start out as a private in the divsion named "Big Red One." You have six other men in your unit, some of whom may save your life, and you may have to save thiers.

This game is very realistic and I could not find any real major flaws with it. The enemy AI is superb and the graphics are certainly up to par, as is the sound effects.

At the start of each mission Sgt. Hawkins, gives you a briefing of what you need to accomplish. From there on out, anything goes. You and your fellow soldiers must find a way to accompish the task. Each mission has its different ways to go about it, and each one is equally as fun as the other.

There is a wide range of weapons in this game, all of which are historically accurate.

The one thing I did not like is that I finished the game in a total of two days. Luckily, I paid only $20 for it, so I suggest to look for it at a lower price because it is not worth $50.

NOTICE: The rating on this game is teen. There is some profanity, but nothing that would be bleeped out or is that serious.

Or is this game just not very challenging at all? Don't get me wrong, I'm very impressed by the storyline, graphics, weapons, etc. But it just seems like it's a little too easy to finish this game. It just seems like it's really hard to die; there's so much available ammo, health packs, and direct hits from MG-42's, grenades, etc. don't really inflict that much damage on you. Does anyone else out there share these thoughts?

I bought this thinking it would be just like the series and truth to be told its very simliar to the series. (Ha Ha, now only if I know japanese then I could tell what they were saying) This game is in Japanese and it has very little english for all you fairy tail fans who are in america or other countries. I love the fact how you can play as lucy, natusa, gray, erza, happy and more of the cast. You can unlock more of the cast as you continue. (some of them mentioned in the series like Cana 'who may I say you don't see much but is still in the guild, lets see who else. (though I'm not yet done with the game so this is where I've gotten.)

List of Charaters that you can unlock

Natusa(You get him right away)

Happy (you get right away)

Gray (You get right away)

Lucy (unlock after first quest but she's rather weak which is a bit sad)

Levy and her gang

Erza

Cana

Mira

(and plenty more I belive about 20 30 total)

The story line actually follows the book series, and the charater can actually get different clothes. Not to mention that there are other random quests along the way in which you can do. (they'll help you level up and earn you some cash.) I find this extremely fun. But if your a beginner player you might find it a bit hard, and try not to use lucy till she gets another spirit. Finally here is the most important advice DO NOT GET IT USED! I DID THAT AND IT WASN'T USED VERY GOOD THE CONDITION WAS AWFUL!

This was a total let-down for my son. He was fully expecting this piece to come out as a RED character/figure in the game video but it was the same Drill Sergeant character as the original. Not worth the extra money people are charging and others are paying for it. Wait for the price to come down to basement level before you buy. It is still nice as part of the collection, though, but that's about it.

My son is almost 5 and loves skylanders! His favorite character is Drill Sergeant so of course when we saw the red one, we just had to get it! There are tons in all the Walmarts around me. This red one is a Walmart exclusive and shouldn't be too hard to find!

The red one starts at level 5 with over 2 thousand gold. I was surprised by that! We've never gotten a limited edition one before (despite seeing quite a few). Not so sure how I feel about that part, but my son loves his new red one!

Well, what can I say? SOCOM this is NOT!!!!

OK, for the record, I miss the old SOCOM format...REALLY, I do! And for Zipper Interactive to release this game, the way it is, is just wrong!

And before you guys start bashing me, play it first, and then take a moment, step back, and ask yourself, "is this really SOCOM???"

I mean, why even make this game? There's a thousand run-n-gun type military games out there...Too many to list, actually. The original Socom format really had something different. There were NO GAMES like them! So, what does THIS GAME bring to the table, that the other shooters do not????? NOTHING!

I don't know where to start, and I'm just gonna be all over the place, as things make me angry....but, here goes:

This game is basically run, get shot at, run, get shot at, get shot at some more, and get shot at some more. If you think I'm kidding, try the game yourself!

The original SOCOM series was intense, strategic, organic, you could use a headset to use voice commands, use your teammates to help complete missions, use team mates to overwatch, command teammates to do all sorts of stuff...the original SOCOM games had SO MUCH to offer...this game????....NOTHING!!! All this cool stuff that the original SOCOM games had, is all GONE! Sure, OK, the graphics are awesome! OK? And sure, it's got a BUNCH of shooting in it...OK? but, so do a million other games out there, and graphics & shooting only goes so far. If you're looking for the old SOCOM here....well, you can forget it. The original magic of SOCOM, is forever gone.

In this game, you can forget about shooting bad guys at 300yds, and staying hidden for a while. OH NO, NOT IN THIS GAME!!! You shoot ONE TIME, ONE ROUND, WITH A SILENCED SNIPER RIFLE, and 4 million rounds just seem to find you and rain down upon you like hellfire...Tanks, rockets, bullets, grenades, missiles...everything!!! Come on???...really??? Whether you're hidden or not...EVERY ROUND & BULLET just magically finds you, instantly. Hide behind a rock...YUP, you guessed it, bullets hit you!!! This is a joke!

You can't even climb ladders in this game! So, your ability to snipe from high vantage points, is gone! Not that it would matter anyway.

Another thing.....Why do you have to complete the game for better scopes & weapons? I'm sure the real Navy Seals have to do this in real life! So, I have to complete the game to get a better sniper scope??? COME ON???!!!!! What kinda crap is this????

In a firefight, bullets come from EVERY ANGLE! You can hide behind whatever you want (Rocks, cars, trucks, WALLS), and, you guessed it! Bullets, rockets, grenades...etc...just all seem to hit you! People just appear from out of nowhere, and BAM! You're dead! It's actually laughable.

No voice commands, no strategy, no stealth, no night-vision, no missions (to speak of), no sniper shots from afar, no decent choice of weapons, no nuthin'! Just come up on bad guys & tanks, and start shootin' like mad, because that's all the game will allow you to do. Don't bother trying to hide, either...COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!

Now, before I get flamed, and called names, yes, there are 2-3 levels in this game, in which you have to be stealthy....but, it's a joke. Shoot one guy, and once again, you either fail a mission, or get trampled by 30 guys at once with assault rifles. Hell, I've played ATARI 2600 games better than this.

This game is just like every other military shooter out there, MOH, COD, whatever! (Just not as good)....It just left a bad taste in my mouth, after being a HUGE SOCOM fan since day one. It's a real bummer to play this.....

The original SOCOM games (1, 2 & 3) really made the player feel like they were actually IN the game, and actually hiding in the bushes & shrubs. Not here.

Bottom line: I don't care what ANY reviewer says, this game sucks! PERIOD! It's a cheap, unrealistic, generic shooter, with a SOCOM label on it.

So, here's my PRO & CON list.....are you ready?

PROS:

Guns.....

CONS:

Just about everything else....

Am I being too harsh? No, I honestly don't think so. And the general public shouldn't accept this. Considering all the cool things that the original SOCOM games offered, I'm actually being too easy on the game, and the folks at Zipper Interactive!

So, to all you folks at Zipper Interactive, I ask you:

"Is THIS the BEST you guys could come up with????? If so, then I'll buy another PS2, and start playing the old SOCOM games again."

UPDATE 05-02-11: Giving the title a fourth star for two reasons: First, the U.S. Navy SEALS just killed Osama Bin Laden! That's the ultimate 'Takedown' mission...Go SEALS!! Secondly, I've been logging a lot more time with the game in 'Custom' mode. The no-respawn rule in 'Custom' forces a frustrating, but ultimately highly instructive and tactical rethink of gameplay style that fits with the game design. It's sort of like learning an instrument, frustrating until you 'get it', then it's much more rewarding. The price coming down also helps...a lot.

UPDATE 06-02-11: See 'Multiplayer' notes below Singleplayer -PSN is finally running for me.

*****

Let me start out by saying that I'm almost exclusively a First Person Shooter player and almost always on an Xbox. I've logged time on (and have beaten as well) BFBC2, CoD Black Ops, and Crysis 2; I also own and have beaten CoD Modern Warfare, MW2, Red Dead Redemption, etc...

I've just gotten into the PS3 scene to get the killer Blu-Ray player and try some of the exclusive titles on it. The SOCOM series is a PS exclusive. SOCOM4 is my first taste of a shooter on the PS3 and sadly, this game doesn't measure up, and that's too bad. Granted, it's a Third Person Shooter game on the PS3, but more than close enough to compare. Gears of War and RDR are both TPS and awesome.

Having carried a real gun for the 32 years of my entire adult life from 17 to 49 in the military and law enforcement, I wanted to experience something close to actually pointing a weapon in a video game and was excited to try the PS SharpShooter system based on its reviews. I found after pricing the components locally, the SOCOM4 'Full Deployment Edition' with the SharpShooter and all the other PS Move gear actually cost less than just the hardware. Ergo, the game was free to me. So, if you got the game with the package it is an awesome deal as it's an 'OK' game. I'll review the SharpShooter in its place...although I will say it gets high marks.

As for SOCOM4, I'm not familiar with the earlier titles. They must've been good or we wouldn't be on '4'. Video games are very complex with many layers so I'll try to summarize for times sake:

SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN ONLY:

GAMEPLAY: Linear! I haven't been in a more 'rail shooter' linear game in the past several years...except maybe Mass Effect, but the story there is the game. This is worse than Halo linear; as in on-screen breadcrumb sequential checkpoints that keep you focused more on playing checkpoint baseball and tagging the bases than in mission achievement.

STORY: You're a semi-stranded, cobbled together, *NATO*? Seal team on some island that could cripple global commerce if the rebels take control. I don't want to go into more detail and spoil, but if you get more out of the story your imagination is better than mine and I daydream way too much.

WORLD: I felt almost no need, or desire, to explore the developer's world. Too bad because in many arenas it seemed that the developers went to a lot of artistic trouble to make it look realistic (success) and approachable (fail). The need wasn't there since if they wanted me to see it a checkpoint would run me through it. The desire wasn't there because the game treasures were ho-hum. The ample guns lying around were hard to understand if they were better or worse than mine (frequently worse I found out) and the 'Intel' that you're supposed to pick up never seemed to give me any useful payoffs...so if I saw it, I grabbed it, otherwise I felt no remorse for missing it. I felt no desire to explore or scrounge, neither seemed to be worth the trouble. The set design seemed high until you tried engaging with anything and it just bonked as you tried to scale it, kick it, etc... Well, you could shoot the occasional bucket or the now universal red exploding barrel. If you tried to get an overwatch position to cover your troops while sending them to flank and pincer, you found out that any high ground was almost always unavailable and just a vertical 'wall' to the arena. RDR this is not. The artists did a good job, the graphics are very good and the tradeoffs fair. Good detail, high contrast, great lighting effects, all in all very good. A nice place to visit...

GUNS, BALLISTICS, AND SHOOTING: They did a good job with the guns and most terminal ballistics. The guns were beautifully rendered in game and in cut scenes showing the correct kit for the players. The sights were very well done. Optics were beautiful and real-world accurate to a point. Reflex reticles were true to life except the fact that the player-side face plates were in focus and quite distracting. They aren't in real life, they are out of focus and only the target and reticle are in focus as it should be. Small gripe. Shooting with 'irons' in third person is weird, no way around it. It's much weirder when the players own huge and opaque head is frequently in the way because the camera is behind the guy shooting the enemy (you the player). This only happens when ADS (aiming down sights). You wind up hip shooting like a noob to avoid it. There's no wind or gravity, but hey, again small gripe. Guns with scopes would recoil, but not settle...major gripe and an immersion killer. Shooting with optics moves you into FPS and seemed very good. Especially with the SharpShooter...it felt oddly real when ADS with the SS and using optics, especially scopes. This was and remains the highlight of the game for me...highly recommended for real shooters. You will get a sense of satisfaction that your years of training have FINALLY paid off in a video game; in a way no 'thumb shooter' will understand. Using an ACOG and a SS is not to be missed. Rent the game for that if you already have the gun.

Terminal ballistics and hit boxes seemed right on. A well-placed shot to a critical area was a drop, poor shots resulted in crippled, or semi-functional enemies, as expected. Well done. Black Ops could take a few lessons here. Hits were hits, misses were misses, no mysterious stuff. Sadly it seemed that ANY intermediate object would disable your shot...chain link fencing, leaves, openings between stairs, etc... All can defeat battle rifle caliber rounds and MGs, so sayeth the physics engine they're using. At least a lot of cover was destructible both ways...yet, Battlefield this is not.

AI: SQUAD: AI was good...considering that AI stinks in every game...period. The AI here has pluses (squad are skilled shooters) and minuses (squad hang back a lot and use cover oddly). I'm not usually working squads in game, so I'll be brief here...these guys will do. They are skilled, resilient (more so than the player by far), and fairly intuitive. They usually follow orders and perform better than most friendlies.

ENEMIES: Average. Enemies are appropriately skilled for the middle levels. Behavior patterns were fairly locked and predictable (weak cover skills) with some pleasant surprises (would flank or bum rush). Lethality was game-fair. Odd shots would hurt you, head shots would kill you. Enemies weren't super shooters, but weren't bullet spraying shopkeepers either. Enemy observation skills were highly variable. Sometimes you could sneak past them while looking into their eyes, or they wouldn't notice the 200 lb body you just shot landing on a tin roof next to them. Other times they would see you stealth kill a dude in the dark from a block down the street. Hard to figure.

ACTING: The acting is first rate. Voice acting is well done and usually appropriate with only occasional F-bombs. The characters don't have dramatic stories or parts, so this probably wasn't hard to get right. Motion capture looked realistic and they obviously hired real operators for some of the stuff based on movement patterns. Overall well done...a nice cake of few ingredients.

I'll add more as I wrap up the game...I just got it yesterday, but if you don't post right away nobody will see it. I might do the Multi-Player. For right now the campaign at least seems like a great training range for the SharpShooter community and little else. The story won't make you feel like you have to save the world, or your teammates (I don't even know their names hours later and don't get worked up when something happens to them), and even the PC seems like your cookie-cutter OCS Seal O-3; I've yet to identify with my own PC. He's no John Marston that's for sure. Gameplay is very dated, graphics and gunwork are good, but the effort is lost on mediocrity elsewhere. So far it's been your average garage sale...some neat stuff lost and surrounded by a bunch of same 'ole.

UPDATE: Finished the game and stand by the above review and rating...although I did shoot through a leaf, a fence, and a piece of corrugated steel to get some non-fatal hits on enemies. The game ran 10 hours with a rather casual pace and plenty of do-overs on my part. I like to experiment in-game and this results in a fair amount of 'don't do that again' deaths. Usually when playing a top-notch title, I get really antsy to get back into the game when I have to put it down to deal with real life...I didn't have those joneses with this title. The 'Custom Game' feature is pretty cool and backs up my estimation that the biggest value the game offers is as a training aid for SharpShooter practice. In 'Custom', you can pick maps, game types, and enemy bot skill levels to practice against...think: Black Ops Combat Training and you'll have a great notion of the feature.

MULTIPLAYER UPDATE 06-02-11: Finally got to play MP on this title after waiting a month (Thanks Sony...not). I'm left with mixed feelings about the whole experience. I'm retired and have a little time on my hands, so I have the luxury of playing all these cool games and their online offerings. SOCOM4 has given me some of my most rewarding and frustrating experiences of that time.

COMPETITIVE MP: I'm not going to act like I rock at this...I don't. Why? Because the default Quick Play choice places you into large maps with 32 players running around (and expecting you to run around) like an enormous Call of Duty run-n-gun fest. If you like Black Ops, you'll love this...very little if any lag...didn't see any obvious cheating (lag jerking) but it was a swarm of seemingly mindless frontal assault. Using defensive strategies such as setting up ambushes or sniping from cover, exactly the same skills that you need to survive the rest of the game are ignored wholesale in the competitive MP game. Now give even 10% of those folks mics and you can just imagine the 'fog of war' effect...except these aren't trained pros with radio discipline...they're rude, crude and loud bullet sponges. The good news is you really want to kill them.

On the smaller maps option in competitive, everyone is 'nade spamming the place. They should call it hand artillery. Tactics here are in short supply as in the big maps, just smaller and crazier. Juveniles needing their brains bathed in epinephrine will have to be talked down from the high. Not my bag.

COOPERATIVE MP: A ray of hope and glad to have found it. Imagine the 'Custom' mode, except instead of AI friendlies, you get 1-4 (more is better against 'Hard' enemies) real human squadmates and the ability for each other to revive fallen teammates. No typical respawning. If you don't get revived, you lie until all are dead or victorious. You can select mission types, maps, and enemy skill and force levels. Now tactics and skill matter. This has been the new highlight of the title for me. I have seen some incredibly good soldiering and some really stupid cowboys. Mistakes and foolish bravado will get you and others killed...fast!

The radio chatter here is relevant...enemy fire matters...speed, accuracy, and smarts are critical. When you get shot down and a squadmate throws smoke and fights guns blazing to save you, you can bet that when they go down, you'll cut down Hell's Army to save them. Topping the stats after a really tough round is immensely more satisfying than any other round of gaming I've done. This is where they should give medals. 6 stars and where I'll be from now on. I haven't been on XBL since I found this. I've met some amazing folks here from around the world, fun to play with and very efficient operators in the game. Good times...and isn't that what its all about?

Best Deals for SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy Seals - Playstation 3

i usually play with a friend online in 1st person shooters. we usually stick to black ops or Battlefield Bad Company 1& 2... ive played SOCOM before but probably like 5 years ago and never on a ps3... SOCOM 4 is very different than Black Ops & Bad Company. everybody is sayin that SOCOM 4 was tryin to be like Call Of Duty, i dont think thats the case.. nowadays games like Super Mario, Grand Theft Auto 3, the 1st MK are technically thought of as (Bad Games).. back then they were amazing ground breaking games. the creators of SOCOM 4 knew that so clearly there not going to go backwards. they had to add some features, better graphics, and basically update. i guess SOCOM fans dont like seeing that but its gotta happen sometime. i personally thought this game was very very good. the 3rd person is a nice change up, sometimes it gets a little hard to shoot when on the side of cover but not too hard. the story mode was a little cliche but stil pretty fun, theres a pretty good selection of guns and custimation for them.. i like the co-op and multi very much.. somehow in SOCOM 4 theres NO CAMPING.. there might be a guy in the same spot tryin to camp but if you know where he is its very easy to eliminate him and stop the camping... i love the bullet penetration, the way bullets go through bodys are just beautiful. the maps seem to be huge but it also seems like everybody is really spread out and no1s in groups. theres no real rendervous point, or middle of the map where people meet. and the knifing is amazing!!!!! THE KNIFING IS JUST LIKE BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 1 KNIFING!!!! :), a swish kinda, not a shank or stab, makes for way better knife fights and its not based on luck or connection like call of duty... in closing i give this game a 9 outa 10.. its not perfect but for a brand new game that was $45 that comes with bonus content, its a very good deal. im really glad i bought it.

Honest reviews on SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy Seals - Playstation 3

I loved this. I have Resistance 3 with the sharpshooter PSMove controller, and I wasn't pleased. HOWEVER, I AM pleased with SOCOM 4. It plays so smoothly with the PSMove. It takes a little while to get used maneuvering around, but once I got used to it, it was gold.

Granted, I miss the classic SOCOM games, where you can talk to your squad, "Bravo, breach bang and clear" to have them do exactly that to a room, but that being said, SOCOM 4 stays pretty true to the old games, however there's much more of a cinematic-type story to it. There's character development, etc. which is nonexistent in the other games.

I recommend it! My favorite part was how sensitive the gun is while trying to snipe, how steady I had to make my hands. Kudos to zipper interactive!

As many have said, this game is really different from other SOCOM games. It tries to do a few things differently but in the end it's lackluster. I have played all of the previous SOCOMs and had high expectation for this one, but unfortunately it didn't impress at all.

Cons

The squad controls have been simplified (or dumbed down) which gets mixed reviews. I personally think it made things too simple. You can only order your squad mates to move to certain location or attack a specific target, that's it. You can no longer tell them to hold fire or cover specific areas, which significantly reduces the tactical aspect of a true SOCOM game.

Stealth aspect of missions are an interesting design choice. It would have been executed much better; example, there are times where you are detected by enemies without any reason and they all swarm on you and you are dead within 5 seconds. Realistic? Perhaps. Fun or entertaining? Absolutely not!

Weapon upgrade system is highly flawed. You have no control over what gets upgraded, and the selection is very limited which is disappointing.

Story and characters are not engaging. You don't really care much about the story or the characters at all since they are not interesting.

The camera view is somewhat odd and annoying; it switches between third-person and first-person at will without reason. I find this to be distracting and unnecessary.

Multiplayer is not all that fun due to limited weapons upgrades. COOP mode had potential but you don't earn XP at all and weapons upgrade is extremely slow. Another disappointment!

Pros

Levels are generally well-modeled with good detail.

Controls are generally fine other than the camera issue mentioned previously.

Overall, I can only give this a 2 out of 5 as it did not meet expectations on any front. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Best Datel XBox 360 XSATA USB Hard Drive Linking System Deals

Datel XBox 360 XSATA USB Hard Drive Linking System
Customer Ratings: 3 stars
Buy Now
The XSATA is an interesting product. To sum it up, it acts as a bridge between an Xbox 360 and its hard drive, with the ability to convert the SATA connection and convert it out to a USB port. This allows you to directly access the file system on the Xbox HDD, allowing for a "normal" viewing of the folder hierarchy. This means that data, including save games, movies, and really anything can be backed up to your computer's hard drive. The main use is to have a copy of your saved games in case a file gets corrupt or your HDD dies, although there are other uses, as I'll explain later.

The first impressions of the device are not very good. Physically, it is light, and rather simple looking, and getting it onto the Xbox is a hassle. It uses a few plastic tabs that connect where the HDD normally would go, and getting it on properly can take several minutes the first time you try it. Once it is on, you'll find that it adds about 1/3" to the width (or height) of your Xbox, and fitting right between the console and the HDD. If you use your Xbox horizontally, like I do, you'll find that the XSATA also protrudes about 1/16" on the top and bottom, and when laying flat on the table, your Xbox will actually rest on the device itself instead of on its rubberized feet. I've used the XSATA for almost a year now with no side effects, but it's still an uncomfortable observation. Note that because the XSATA is a physical device that connects to your 360, you must have your Xbox turned on and in close proximity to your PC to use it.

But once you get past the initial reactions, it gets better. Fuctionally, this device is flawless. The XSATA has a standard mini-USB port on the back, and comes with a 4 foot cable for connecting to your computer (could be longer, but...). The Xplorer 360 software that is included has worked fine for me, but I highly suggest doing a Google search for the latest version, which fixes some bugs and adds support for the 512MB memory card and the 120GB HDD. (The software works on Vista, too.)

Due to the limitations of the Xbox HDD, you can't access it with the Xbox and your PC at the same time, but that's not a major issue. The Xplorer 360 software is simplistic but functional. It only takes a few clicks to access a connected 360 HDD. It only takes a few more clicks to start the backup process, which creates a 20 GB (or 120 if you have the bigger HDD) image file which you can save anywhere you want. The backup process takes about 45 minutes on a USB 2.0 connection, and virtually ensures that your files up to that point are safe. I've never had to actually use an entire image restore before, but the process is painless to perform once about every month or so.

Those that have done any amount of hacking or soft/hard modding of the original Xbox will find themselves right at home viewing the file hierarchy of the 360. For others, though, there is a good sized learning curve. Microsoft makes use of unique hexadecimal strings for each game, and until you learn them or look them up, the entire system will just seem to be random files and folders.

But once you get past that, the XSATA becomes more useful. It is possible to extract and backup individual game saves, which is a much faster and more convenient process than backing up the entire drive. Even better, if you have a way of extracting or downloading game saves from original Xbox games, those can be injected into the appropriate place on the 360 HDD and played as long as the title is BC. This can save literally hundreds of hours of playtime if you don't want to spend time getting back to where you were. This is probably the most useful function of the XSATA, as transferring original Xbox saves is virtually impossible otherwise.

Functionality aside, there is a final fringe benefit to owning the XSATA. It has blue LEDs on the sides, which means that you'll have a gentle blue light on the side of your 360. No point whatsoever, but it does get you compliments, hehe.

The XSATA isn't for everyone. While anyone can go in and backup their entire drive, it takes a slightly more advanced user to get the full use out of it. There are the abovementioned problems with installation, but once you get past those, the XSATA is a useful device that may be worth it for the ability to transfer old Xbox saves alone.

If you compare the price of the XSATA to the price of additional (or larger when they are available) XBox 360 hard drives this seems like a great deal. That's what prompted me to buy one as the 20GB drive fills up with downloads really fast. I ordered one of these the first day it was available for order online at the end of May.

First let me describe the construction of the unit. It's hollow on the inside with two plastic half rings on either side of the unit. At each end there are a pair of LEDs, one touching the end of each half ring to create the blue glow. Because of this, the lighting is uneven, and really is only strongly blue in the front and the back, and it's a very light blue color. If you were so inclined, it would be very easy to swap LEDs (of any size) for the ones in the unit, if you don't like the color. Aside from this, there are two PCBs in the device: the one in the front has a pass through from the proprietary XBox 360 SATA interface with two short SATA cables and a power cable connecting it to the back PCB which has SATA to USB adaptor, and also provides power via another short cable to the back LEDs. The back PCB outputs to a custom mini USB 2.0 port (they include a mini USB to USB cable in the box). The front PCB is loose, connected only to the cables but not to the unit, so that it may be adjusted to fit the port well.

The XSATA doesn't use the same type of locking mechanism that the 360 drive uses to snap on to the 360. It has these plastic nubs that snap under the top plate that were extremely hard to get in, and it also makes the unit almost impossible to remove once it's on the 360. The drive does not snap on easily and it does not rest flush with the top of the unit.

The custom mini USB to USB cable they provide is very short, it's probably somewhere around 4-6 feet which I guess is fine for some setups but I have to have it go out the back of my entertainment center, around the side, and out to the couch, which clearly requires a longer cable than this. I had to use a USB extension cable to make use of it, but as they don't have a standard USB port in the back, you can't use your own USB cable.

I don't have my 360 in the same room as my PC, so I had to connect this to my laptop, and I set up a share on my network to use for the 360 backups and whatnot. It's a shame there's no ethernet output, as then you could just access the 360 as a wired/wireless (with an adaptor) network storage device. As it is, you're tethered to the 360 with a USB cable.

It doesn't mention this on the box but you cannot access the 360 hard drive with your PC and your 360 simultaneously. The XSATA doesn't share the drive between the PC and 360, it switches dedicated control between the 360 and the PC. You have to boot the 360 with the USB cable attached to the PC and it will have the 360 power on to power the drive (but not boot the console). Then you can access the files with your PC. When done, you reboot the console without the USB cable attached and it boots to the 360 with drive control. This is just in theory as I couldn't get it to work.

My first attempt at connecting the unit had it working backwards. Without the USB cable, the 360 didn't boot, with the USB cable connected to the PC, the 360 booted, but didn't have access to the drive (and neither did my PC). This was clearly no good. I removed the unit with great fear of damaging the console housing as it was nearly impossible to do and put it back on and re-seated everything. This time the 360 booted no matter what, but with the USB cable attached it didn't have drive control. This is at least closer to how it was supposed to function, but I couldn't access the files (and yes I'm using the software they supplied on the mini CD).

I figured I'd try to get it to work later and unplugged the USB cable and rebooted the 360. Everything seemed ok but I noticed some serious slowdown on the dash and then the console froze. I rebooted and it seemed fine but then I tried to get some downloads on marketplace and it froze again. I rebooted yet again everything seemed fine but my gamertag loaded with 0 reputation and 0 gamer points. At this point I had had enough. I shut it down and again struggled to remove the unit. Thankfully my rep and points were intact when I booted up, but I think it's safe to say I won't be using the XSATA again (did I ever really get to use it?)

Datel's customer support is nonexistent. After a maze of menus, you are told you will speak to a live representative, but then it goes to a machine that says they are busy and it hangs up on you; there's no queue to wait in. If you press 0 to speak with an operator, there's no operator, just a machine asking you to leave a message. I tried many times over a period of about 2 hours during normal business hours and got the same results.

I will definitely be returning this item. All in all, this was a device that could have been really cool and should have been way better than it was, even if it did work as advertised (which it didn't). A total disappointment. Stay away from this and hopefully someone else will release one that actually works well.

This product is a must have for anyone who wants to try out softmodding on the xbox 360. This product works well but it doesnt really fit well onto the xbox and i will bet many people have broken it in the past upon istallation, Come on guys there really shoouldnt be a losse circuit board and some wires without at least a little covering but all in all this is a very good product. The harddrive was a little hard to fit on and once its on you should really start studying up on your hexidecimal coding system because microsofts sata harddrives are all coded with that system but luckily i was able to figure it out.

The seller i used was PNP Games Inc and they were just awesome so i highly recomend buying from them. They shipped the item 1 day after purchase and came to me in 3 days and i live all the way in NY so i was pleased.

Pros

Very fast transfer rates

Cool Blue LED light tubes around the hardware

Stops the hassle of removing the harddrive to put on a docking station.

Cons

Very cheaply made(i could have done better)

Hard to put on and i dont recoment taking off the xbox if u force it it will break

No customer support from Datel who make this product

This product is very good 5/5 from me!!!!

Honest reviews on Datel XBox 360 XSATA USB Hard Drive Linking System

Easy to install (I have installed many computer hard drives). It took about 6 hours to back up my 20 MB Xbox 360 hard drive. Unfortunately, I can't restore individual files, just the entire partitian (as far as I know).

I disliked the 4 foot USB cord (It uses its own type of USB plug), meaning I had to move the Xbox 360 to the computer -A real pain. It would have been nice if they had either included a 6 or 10 foot cable; or used a standard USB cable.

I cannot figure out how to move individual files (Mostly you can just back up your hard drive onto your computer for safe keeping). It is nearly impossible to see what you are looking at since Microsoft uses hexadecimal filenames for everything.

I wanted to move my Xbox game saves to the Xbox 360 but it turns out I need to go buy an Action Replay unit to use that feature (transfer them to the computer and then move them to the Xbox 360 hard drive in a super complicated process). Fortunately, you can get the AR devices on Amazon.com.

I would recommend getting this to back up your Xbox 360 hard drive for safe keeping &/or moving to another Xbox 360 hard drive. Worth the to me for that but I need to learn more to do much else with it.

Jaelus' review above was dead on.

Doesnt sit right. A pain to remove and really not designed for use when the xbox is laying flat, if you do use it lieing flat the LED tubes stick out a little further and the 360's weight is put on the LED lights. Its just cheaply made and poorly designed all around. When opening the package my first thoughts were "wow this looks like someone put this together in their basement"

The first one i got the harddrive did not attach correctly at all and was loose, i returned it for another and it fit but didnt sit flush. not a good start.

Usage wise when you do get it connected it works but dont expect to be able to navigate or understand anything using xplorer 360 (the provided software). All the files show up as random numbers and letters. I was expecting to be able to go to specific game saves and back them up but I had no clue what was what. I guess my only option was to backup the whole thing. probably not the softwares fault and more how microsoft manages the files on the HD but regardless it's not user friendly. Your basically stuck backing up everything instead of specific items.

i will be returning it, again, this time for my money back or possibly just to go the simple route and use a memory card.

great idea horrible implementation.
