Review of Mad Catz MC2 Racing Wheel and Pedals Set

I have long searched and I mean LONG searched for a good racing wheel and this is it. I have personally tried out almost every wheel and pedals on this site and this one is far superior to all. It has sensitivity tuning so you can customize it to your own needs and has easy button remapping at the press of a button. Some people who own this product refuse to spend the 5 minutes needed to read the simple instructions and correctly tune it for each game. It now even comes with instructions specifically on how to set it for Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2, one of the best racing games ever. Many things make this a great buy:

First of all, it has digital and analog modes, so it can be used on almost any game, playstation or playstation 2, despite what this site says.

It can be fully callibrated for sensitivity and dead-band.

It has suction cups for hard surfaces and retractable leg supports for comfortable lap placement.

It has all of the standard playstation buttons, plus a very nice shifter and two-way butterfly buttons mounted on the back of the wheel, which are great for Formula One shifting.

On the main body there is an LCD guage that measures accelorator throttle. (very cool)

The pedals have rubber pads that keep them in place during the most abusive acceleration, though it is little needed because of the vertical vector pedal collumns that change the center of gravity to keep it in place. There is a foot rest on the side for when you are not braking and the pedals have grip textures to keep your feet from unwantedly sliding off.

Everything is very durrable and can widstand lots of abuse unless you are bent on braking shifter with unnesisarily hard shifting habbits, though trust me, I have only heard of one braking and everyone else seems quite happy.

The pedal connection is USB.

Very comfortable grip.

Even though this is the best wheel I have ever used, it is still not perfect. The wheel is a little to small, and does not go around as far as I would like, though it makes turning a little easier. Sometimes when you set the shifter it also remaps the up or down d-pad buttons, but they are not used during raceing and can be easily set right when needed. Some people complain that the leg-wells are to close together, but it is more snug than tight and does not hinder lower leg movement, so there is no difference in use of the pedals. As I have said, this is the best wheel and pedals I have ever used other than that of my own car and it is worth your money. If you dont happen to like it then you obviously have not used some of the junk out there and you can return it anyway. Have fun!

Well, I have bought the wheel for GT3 and was curious about the content and facts of these reviews... I would like to go someway to putting he record straight:

1) This wheel is FULLY compatable with GT3, but admittedly is a little fiddley to set up.

2) The 'play' in the wheel is controllable and can be altered so you only have to turn it slightly for a responce.

The only game I have found the wheel difficult to configure for is Driver. Unfortunately this is more to do with the programming of the game as opposed to the wheel itself due to the lack of controllable options in the game. It will work porperly but without the pedals.

The following games I have all work fine (maybe with a little tweaking though).

GT

GT2

GT3

Toca

Toca 2

Colin McCrae Rally

I hope this helps as it is definately the best wheel I have used upto now....

This is an excellent wheel. I've had other brands and gave them away or returned them. The ability to calabrate the wheel it self and not the game is one of the best features it has. The pedals react to the amount of pressure and the lighted LCD on the wheel enables you to see houw much pedal to the medal you have. The brake is real sensative and helps in controlling your car. It's a comfortable to use sitting on your legs or on a table. Highly recommend.

Honest reviews on Mad Catz MC2 Racing Wheel and Pedals Set

Okay, I would like to clear up the misconception that this pedal does not work with Gran Turismo 3. It does in fact work, and very well. It just needs to be set in-game. Also, the distance that needs to be traveled for turning force can be adjusted. If you have the adjustment problem, just read the manual. If you cant get it to work with GT3 (it is'nt very complicated) you can just e-mail me and I will gladly send you instructions. Happy gaming!

I used the first steering wheel for the original playstation and it was anything but impressive. But I since bought the mad catz 2, it's been great. The pedals never move, it has force feedback, AND A SHIFTER!! The steering is acurate, and works with most any game. I use it for, burnout 2, need for speed: HP2, and medicore game called downforce. This wheel is cheap and great.

This is the game that should have been instead of Enter the Matrix. It is so much fun playing as Neo on a Matrix game. I haven't finished yet; but for what I have played, I have been almost 100% satisfied with the game but like all games, this has a few flaws.

One of the good parts about the game is that the controls are excellent. Neo pulls off some awesomely fantastic moves. The graphics are points are great, but at other points not so great. I agree that they could have been better. The fun factor is great, it is fun. The game is long, I've been playing for a few hours and I'm still on the first movie. The game also follows the movie almost exactly; some parts can be changed if you choose to do things different that what was seen on the movie.

There are some down sides to this game. The camera angles sometimes moves to places where you can't see some of the things that are going on screen. When you die or skip the story, some of the noise is occasionally lost during some battles. The only other big problem I have seen with the game is what Jeffrey S. Stanley "Viper_29 said that when the guns are used and I lock on to opponents, when they die the lock automatically aims at the floor instead of the next bad guy and it can be at times frustrating.

Overall great game, fans of the Matrix will love it, but it does have flaws. I do recommend this game

First off, the only problem I have with this seller is that they never mentioned

that it was NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE, but beyond that, everything was satisfactory on

the seller's part.

I played this game years back, and I ordered it after watching the trilogy recently.

I opened the game and put it in my 360 only to find that the game is NOT BACKWARDS

COMPATIBLE!!!

Nobody had made comments on the product concerning this issue. I would have never thought

about this previous to having this specific problem. I am horribly disappointed and now I

have a fun game that I will not be able to play at all :(

This is the game "Enter the Matrix" had wet dreams about. Fluid control, a deceptively deep combat system, and more jaw dropping fight scenes than you can shake a 9mm at. The gun combat could be a little more finely tuned, but it works. Though who would want to use a gun when you can run across a wall, jump off and spear someone to the floor, pick them up by their legs, swing them around in circles, and launch them at a group of their homies? Because you can do that.

Honest reviews on The Matrix: Path Of Neo - Xbox

Hey, what can i say? THIS game is much more like what the first game should've been.

This game is not linear as other reviewer(s) have suggested.

Yes, it follows a VERY familliar story-line for fans of the series. But, this program allows you to act out some of the BEST battles that NEO had to offer within the trilogy.

The way they meshed the movie bits with a new perspective was very nice. 600 DIFFERENT ATTACKS! I think that's incredible.

Some are so creative you'll find yourself attached to them more than others. But, there are so darn many you may never use all of them! New characters written in by the Wachowski's , come new environments, and the original voice actors. Better graphics than the first, better action. Easier to control characters.

The only complaint i have is that your friends AI is not all too smart. Once in a while they'll walk right in front of you while you're shooting and bite the big one. Or, stand too close when you detonate a bomb and (again) bite the big one.

Other than that, this was as great as i expected it to be.

I'm not even a die hard fan of the movie franchise.

I am, however, a fan of this game. A fun program whether you're a hardcore fan or not. But, it does help to know at least a little about the movie first.

Okay, I have seen quite a few reviews on this game and people either love it or hate it. There is no middle ground. I have to say that while I haven't finished the game, I can report on what I have seen so far.

In regards to the graphics, I think this game pulls it off fairly well. I haven't noticed much of any lagging in the frame rate department. Yes, the graphics could have been better, but as they are I have no significant complaints. They are better than Enter the Matrix (ETM). They are definitely of a newer generation quality on the Xbox. While the graphics of the characters look good, there is a lot of background that also factors in. When you fight someone and knock them into a wall or other structure, that structure will break and reflect the hit.

The fighting system is fairly good. They have made it fairly simple and I never considered it a button mashing style. You basically have a few buttons that you use in addition to using the left joystick. You will accumulate moves as you progress through the game and also increase your "focus" which allows you to do all the famous moves from the Matrix universe such as dodging bullets and such. The training missions were a little long but they do help you to get a grip on the combat system. I have had several moments where I fought multiple opponents and had two attack me at once. I was able to grab them both as they swung at me and grabbed one hand and then the hand of the other and was able to defeat them while holding them together at the same time. It was one of the coolest moves I have ever seen in a game and it was silky smooth while it happened. You can move the camera angle during the fights and when you perform a special move the time will slow down and you can swing the camera to view it at any angle. Nice touch.

The shooting portion of the game is the one letdown here. You have to click the right joystick to draw the weapons and then you have to use the right joystick to switch from target to target by moving it left or right. The bad thing here is that you will continue to shoot a person even after they are dead. This makes you waste too much ammo. I had to switch back and forth from having my weapons drawn to switch to another target. Another annoying thing was that the camera lock would lock in a position even after the body of the person was gone. Again I had to click the right joystick and reclick it again to move on. The jump moves are nice when you engage the focus and you can pick people off from in the air.

There was a new ending rewritten for this game that is different from the movie. I haven't seen it yet but if I had I wouldn't post it to spoil it for any others playing the game. All in all it is a entertaining game that is worlds better than ETM. One thing when I popped it in the Xbox last night while playing it I definitely wanted to pop in my Matrix DVD to watch it again. This is definitely a renter for everyone. If you are a Matrix fan, you will most likely enjoy this game quite a bit. I could see a bit of influence from the Mortal Kombat games in the training sequence. When you play it you will probably see it as well. My local EB was able to hold a copy for me but they completely sold out of all the copies they had. They told me they were following the sales performance of this game but they suspected that it would be a sleeper hit. If sales of ETM are any signal, then this game will probably sell well into the millions. Give it a try. Chances are you will enjoy it enough to say "that wasn't a bad game at all". Enjoy.

Cheap Xbox 360 Wireless Headset

Xbox 360 Wireless Headset
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars
Buy Now
I have been an xbox live subscriber for over 5 years now. I never minded the old xbox 1 headset but the plastic had a tendency to break (nothing a little duct tape couldn't fix). I was surprised when I bought the 360 as I found the new headsets actually went down in quality. They were uncomfortable to wear (reminded me of listening to my old Sony Walkman in the early 90's). The sound was terrible (full volume was about 75% of the xbox 1 headset's full volume). And worst of all is that they would continue to BREAK (only this time it was the wires, not the plastic). I actually went through 3... yes 'THREE' of the wired headsets before i had enough.

In comes the Microsoft wireless 360 headset. It was more than I wanted to spend but I figured it was cheaper than buying a new wired mic every month. First off, this thing is very comfortable. Anyone who uses blue tooth on their cellphone will feel right at home with this on. Second, the top volume is much louder, making listening much more easier. Also you can tell right away that the audio from the headset is 'crisper' and not so distorted, and from talking to others I understand that people will receive you voice as clear as a phone call. The charge will last about 6-8 hours (plenty of time for any gaming marathon) and as long as you remember to plug it in when you are done playing, you should never have a problem with the battery dying. The best part of all is that you will have to really try hard to break this sucker. The durability of this tiny device is impressive.

Now onto the negatives. There isn't much to say. I suppose for some the volume control and mute being on the unit can be awkward but you get use to it. Also, once in awhile I found that it will randomly disconnect for a moment, though it will immediately reconnect itself. Really the only bad thing to say about this is the obvious... the price. As much as I love this headset and praise it, it did not have to be priced at $60. It would have been more sensibly priced at $40 in my opinion.

Overall though, if you have the money and like to chat with friends online I highly recommend this.

Pros:

-Comfortable

-Light

-Modern Design

-Crisp audio in/out

-Rechargeable Battery (6-8 hour life)

-Surprisingly Durable

Cons:

-Awkward volume controls

-can occasionally 'cut out' for a second or two

-PRICE ($60?!)

The 360 Wireless headset isn't crisp clear audio quality like they suggest, but is a step up from the standard shipped headset.

It serves its purpose and is quite practical as it is much smaller, but unfortunately the '8 hour charge' sometimes becomes 2 hour inconsistencies.

The headset at first is odd to put on around the ear, but after awhile it becomes habitual and comfortable. Overall the headsets durable, somewhat good audio quality, and a bit less in your way oppose to other headsets.

The price doesn't make for such a worthy buy, if found cheaper this is a keeper.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Wireless Headset

I've had my 360 since Christmas 2007 and just went Live earlier this week. My corded headset crapped out the FIRST time I used it so I went out and bought this wireless unit.

The unit I purchased is one of the newer models that come with the USB charger. Not a bad feature, but I'd prefer an AC charger. Charge time is pretty slow, taking up to 6 hours for a complete charge. Fortunately I tend to play at night so if my headset dies, I just plug it in before I go to bed and it's ready to go when I get up.

The sound quality is pretty good. I hear everyone clearly and have had no complaints from other players about me sounding strange or about static over the connection. I would like to see future models add a quick mute function. I liked that feature in the wired headset. :)

My other little complaint is that the earpiece(s) don't fit my ears well. This could be user error, or it may be because my ears are a bit larger than average. The unit never seems to fit securely, but has yet to fall off so can I really dock it points?

All in all, despite a couple small complaints, this headset does what it sets out to do; give gamers the ability to communicate with others clearly, without the hastles of being wired to the controler. I would recommend this to any 360 Live users.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Wireless Headset

I really like the headset. The volume is a bit low but other than that it syncs really easy and has great range, it is also very easy to change what player position it is synced to.

Mine charges via A/C adaptor but newer ones come with a nifty little USB cable instead. It fits protty nice and comes with two ear loops to give you the best fit.

The Halo 3 model is supposed to be improved.

all in all, I think it could have been better, but is worth the money none the less.

I have had this headset for over six months now, and have only good things to say about it. The chat is clear, and the controls are well placed. I often run up a floor to grab a mid-game snack and can still participate in the voice chat with my comrades. If you are serious about taking your chat to the next level, I suggest you buy this. Its battery life runs for about eight hours, which is more than enough for all but the most serious (and socially deprived) gamers. It has a rechargeable battery which I have found recharges in about 3-4 hours. It is fairly well made, and has withstood numerous drops and even a game induced frusturated throw or two.

Reviews of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Stealth Elf

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Stealth Elf
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

She was one of the first non-starter figures I'd gotten, and I'm glad I made the choice. She starts off as a fast up-close fighter with fast striking abilities, with a secondary ability that acts part ways like stealth and part ways like deception with scarecrow dopplegangers (basically, she's a ninja elf).

Later on, you can either upgrade her to be either a better melee fighter (with nasty combo moves, better weapons, and floating blades), or make her scarecrows (typically a passive ability) more deadly (SPINNING SAW BLADES!).

She's very good as a playable character, overall. Only weakness is her defense (But do you expect a stealth character to have great defense? Really?).

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The Stealth Elf falls under the Life element. Her main attack is a close range almost melee like attack with her blades. The attack is quick but the drawback is how close to the enemies you have to be in order to use it. Her secondary attack is to create a "decoy" of herself. She projects herself conintuing in the path she was moving prior to activating the move. The player can see where she actually is by following the two glowing dots on the screen which are her eyes. So far all enemies I have encountered have fallen for the decoy. Using this move and following it by striking an enemy results in a "combo" move.

Best Deals for Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Stealth Elf

I am incredibly glad i got this figure when i did and for a little less than the 7.99 it is supposed to cost. Stealth Elf is now selling for nearly 30 bucks online, which is crazy. The little girl this was a gift for loved it and it is her favorite character to use. This is a fine product but beware online price gouging.

Honest reviews on Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Stealth Elf

I think there's a good reason why Stealth Elf is one of the more popular Skylanders. It's because she's so overpowered, that you could just press the X button in a pattern as you walk through the whole level, and you'd probably make it through without taking any damage. I'm not joking eitherStealth Elf is one of the most broken characters I've ever seen in my nearly 25 years of playing games. Orlandu from Final Fantasy Tactics, Fawkes from Fallout 3, Coo from Kirby's Dreamland 2? Yeah, she's right up there with them.

Stealth Elf's two basic attacks are pretty simple at first. Holding the square button turns her invisible (well, you can see her glowing eyes), allowing her to run past enemies undetected. The X button makes her slash about with her daggers, and you can keep hitting the enemy with this attack to create combos. The upgrade paths for both powers are good, but it's the dagger upgrades that make Ms. Elf an unstoppable force. On top of being able to power up the power of the dagger attacks, you can get ghost daggers that float above Stealth Elf at all times, attacking enemies whenever you do, allowing for even more damage. Simply put...the bad guys aren't going to have a chance to touch you, because by the time their attack finally comes out, they'll be dead. As if the ghost daggers weren't enough, an upgrade for this path gives her two more moves for combos. Press X twice and then hold the square button to shoot poison mist, or hold the circle button to do a crazy attack that results in Stealth Elf flying all over the place (within a small area), scoring multiple hits. The circle button on its own, once you get the power, does a jumping spin attack, useful for getting out of corners in the rare chance that this happens.

If you choose to upgrade the invisibility power, it just ups the strength of her scarecrowsdecoys that are deployed while you make your escape. These are useful in their own right, but kinda useless if you play against another person in the Battle Mode, and it pales to the dagger upgrades.

But you know what? On top of dealing insane damage, Stealth Elf also gets probably the single best Soul Gem power: healing. Yep, Stealth Elf will recover 5 hit points every couple seconds, making it pretty dang hard for her to be killed...more-so. The only downside to this is that you'll constantly be hearing a stupid sound effect when the +5 icon appears above her, but it's a small price to pay.

If you're having trouble with a level or boss in the game, or want to get that All For One trophy/achievement, Stealth Elf will take care of everything for you.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Stealth Elf

Stealth Elf was the first non-starter character I purchased and she's still one of my favorites. She's quick and once you get the hang of using her stealth and scarecrows you can really deal some damage. All of her attacks are close range so be aware of that and if you aren't use to using her you'll take some damage. She's my favorite Life character so far. Not to mention she's one of the more awesome looking characters as well.

I received the charger and decided to run a test to verify what the manufacturer told me (see original post below). I connected a DualShock controller to each of the 4 USB ports and noticed that their red lights started blinking, which means they are charging. No Move controllers were connected/docked during the test since they are still in the original packages waiting for Christmas. Some of the controllers were charged (the blinking red lights turned off) in about an hour and the most discharged controller (had not been used in months) took a little over 2 hours. I also charged my generic MP3 player but my iPhone 3GS does not detect the charger.

All this means that the manufacturer's customer support was wrong, (why am I surprised... ). This little charger can take care of not only both types of Move controllers but of ANY PS3 controller and possibly blue-tooth headsets and many other USB-based charging devices, with the exception of iPhones.

I upgraded the rating to 5*. By the way, the Move receptacles charge the controllers via metal pins, not USB mini B plugs. That is a good thing since the USB mini plugs tend to break easily and are more difficult to engage.

Just a cautionary note. I ordered this charger thinking that the USB ports would charge my 4 DualShock controllers. I tried to confirm that capability on the CTA Digital website and on Google to no avail. I emailed CTA Digital but they took more than a week to reply; a couple days after I ran out of patience and ordered the charger. In their email, CTA Digital said that the charger is not capable of charging the DualShock or SixAxis controllers via the USB ports, and referred me to another of their chargers.

I took out a star for misleading advertisement (I think it's malicious to make a charger for the PS3, which charges the regular controllers via the USB, and not mention that the USB ports in the charger CANNOT charge the regular controllers) and another star for the design (does not match the PS3 design lines/appeareance).

Apparently the reviewer before me made the same assumption I made (that the USB ports could charge the SixAxis and DualShock controllers) without testing that functionality. To be frank, I haven't tried either because the charger has not arrived yet. I'm just reporting what the manufacturer itself is claiming. If I find out that the USB ports can indeed charge the regular controllers I will update this review.

No complaints; works fine, but would have been better with an on/off switch, as you don't want to keep charging your controllers every time (better for maintaining the batteries).

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having a separate charging base for my Move controllers and additional USB ports to charge the Sixaxis controller (or any other USB charged device) is a huge plus for keeping everything ready for action and out of the way. My controllers are charged so the device works. I don't know what else to say! The price is reasonable and while it doesn't seem very "substantial", it doesn't get much wear and tear so it should be fine.

I've been waiting for this game since Assassin's Creed 2. I have never been able to purchase a special edition of any of the "Creeds" so when I saw this I knew I had to have it. So...let's get into this.

This is a very nice Assassin's Creed 3 limited edition (there are others available in different countries). One thing that surprised me was the size of the Connor statue! It's really big! The details are also very nice. It is definitely NOT flimzy in any way and you can tell that a lot of time and effort was put into making this. It's not just a little toy that comes with the game. Everything from the rock he's standing on to the top of his hood looks stunning.

The flag is absolutley amazing as well. It is made out of a very fine material (I have no idea what) that makes it feel like it's worth something. If you're an Assassin's Creed fan and a history buff than this flag is just that much more awesome!

Now, George Washington's notebook is an interesting little booklet with details of a fictional past but they made it very nice looking, the handwriting in the notebook and the way Washington speaks makes this believable. There are different sketches of characters from the game in it and it just gives you a look at some of the art concepts.

Finally we have the belt buckle...not really sure what to say about this one. It's really nice and well made but...it's a belt buckle. Let's just say if they didn't add it in the Limited Edition you probably wouldn't miss it too much (unless you happen to collect belt buckles). It doesn't really add too much for me but it certainly does not take away from this Edition.

As for the game itself I have only been able to play it for a few hours (Superstorm Sandy decided to knock my power out) but what I have played is just breath-taking. The graphics are incredible. The game-play is nice and smooth. I have heard that there are glitches but I haven't experience any yet (and what game doesn't have glitches?). So far this game has lived up to it's hype for me and I'm sure it has for many other gamers.

So to keep things short and to the point let's just say that I really look forward to jumping into the American Revolution this weekend!

For this review, I am going to section it out and talk about each piece that comes with the Limited Edition, that way you can get a good feel for each piece that you get.

The game: It is an absolutely stunning setting that you are immediately dropped into. They really captured the look & feel of what it must of been like in the Colonies at the time. From the comments the citizenry make towards you, the attitudes of the soldiers instantly capture your imagination. The scenery is meticulously detailed. Ubisoft really went all out by looking at maps of the locations from the time period and built the world around them and brought them to life.

The enemy AI is very good, but not excellent...There will be times you wonder why they didn't see you, while others you will wonder how they saw you...overall however, it is very good and above standard compared to other games that are currently out. The combat system is very fluid & not sluggish and the controls in general are very easy to learn & use.

Buckle: Very well polished & sturdy...I was glad to see how solid it was and that it wasn't just a piece of tin. On the face, it is the design of the Assasin's Creed logo with III to signify the installment. Overall a very solid addition to the Limited Edition. My only wonder is how exactly it relates to the game itself...It really feels as though it was "tossed in".

American Flag: One of the highlights of the limited edition really. When I saw this was in the limited edition, I really didn't know what to think as to what the quality of it would be. When I got it in hand however, I was very impressed. The stitching is very high quality and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fabric. It is a very beautiful rendition of the flag and I like how they included the crest of Assassin's Creed in the middle of the 13 stars. It really captured the heritage of the flag, while incorporating the Assassin's Creed theme. It measures 24" x 48".

Washington's Journal: Very meticulously done. The pages & cover look aged as if they had just been discovered and opened for the first time in over 200 years. One of the best parts of this limited edition for sure. It really is one of those things that show the developers (Ubisoft) really tried to capture the era.

Connor Statue: The main addition to the limited edition. The statue of Connor (designed by Alex Ross) is absolutely amazing. It comes with weaponry for you to arm Connor while he stands poised on a cliff top with an American Flag waving behind him. Absolutely superbly done. Whether you are an American or not, you can truly feel the patriotic energy from it. It measures 9.44" tall.

I can't believe I almost passed up on this and was very glad that I did not. I could not recommend this more. Very powerful limited edition. A lot of games really leave you feeling with a feeling of being jipped , but with this, you definitely are left feeling that you got a piece of history, along with a great game.

Best Deals for Assassin's Creed III Limited Edition -Xbox 360

It seemed really slow at first, but a lot of games are like that to ensure that you learn the controls. You'll play as a guy named Haytham in the beginning, and it's kind of boring with him. But when you get to the character of Conner, it becomes more fun. I live in a household with 2 Xbox's and my other half is a lot farther than I am in the game. I'm jealous about that but anyway... I see him having these Navel battles and it looks freaking awesome!!! On the Ocean with waves, stormy weather, trying to shot cannons at other ships. It looks amazing! Also, he'll be playing and I'll be looking up online to see if the characters he's with are going to die in the Boston Massacre or something. I love all the history in this game. It inspires me to find out more. Okay, back to me playing the game. I'll be playing it and the next thing I know a few hours have gone by. You can really get lost in it. There's so much to do, so many places to explore.

I wish you could save in the middle of doing objectives. There could be 3 or 4 things you have to do to get 100% on an objective, but then you screw up halfway through and have to start over. You could say that's part of the challenge though, if you want a perfect game. You don't have to do it over.

I put off buying this for a while because i wanted to get Brotherhood/Revelations so i could complete the set and play it in order. while i was doing this the game dropped by 20$ where i normally would of bought it while limited edition kept its price to the most part. I regret nothing!

I knew I liked the limited edition statue because a friend owned it and it looked very nice on his shelf, but it still exceeded my expectations when mine arrived and i got a closer look. The quality of it is much better then the other experience i had with my other limited edition statue, Which i thought Malgus was nice when i pulled him out of the box, but sitting next to Conner, he is put to shame. The Detail put into Conner is outstanding.

On to the flag, I didn't see it in friend's house and I know why now. It's quite a bit larger then i anticipated. my original plan was to hang it where i use to keep another hanging poster which is at a angle in the corner of my room, over my desk. It is a bit too big for that though. Other then size challenging my original plans for it, it is of rather authentic quality to other American flags which paired with its size makes it seem almost a shame that you can't buy these stand alone to start displaying them outside instead of a real flag.

Last part of it, the belt buckle and the journal. The journal is a nice addition but pales in comparison to the Statue and flag. The belt buckle is a belt buckle, which I've never given using a belt buckle much thought, but from what I can tell this is a nice belt buckle and certainly less is not more when it comes to Limited Edition packages, so I am pleased with it.

Shipping wise i ordered it from Just4games. which gave me trouble with my P.O. Box, Canceling my first order and making me order it again, which i ordered exact same way as first time using P.O. Box in line one of address and Street address in line 2, but it shipped the second time which made me wonder why it was declined first time. Though a very good thing about it was the ETA was off and it actually arrived to the P.O. Box a day earlier then the ETA predicted it would arrive.

I decided to buy this controller because my main controller that I play with was dying, left analog stick didn't work right and the left bumper was jammed, so it was a perfect opportunity for me to buy a new controller.

Aesthetics:

This controller LOOKS nice. The silver shine, the chrome guide button, the shiny black plastic, it all goes together in a perfect combo. This is a sexy controller and it will look sexy in your hands.

Mechanics:

There are two main noticeable improvements. The first one is with the analog sticks. My "main controller" was actually just a five year old xbox 360 controller that had lost its 4 notches on the sticks, but it was extremely old. I prefer not having those 4 notches and enjoy the fact that this controller was designed perfectly for my taste. It feels better on your thumbs.

The d-pad, while it is an improvement, is not improved by much. I play SSFIV a lot with my nice expensive $150 stick, but I do play with a controller with friends at time. I know that the previous controller had a terrible d-pad, but so does this one. Albeit, there is a small improvement. The directions feel more defined and push in better than in the previous controller. The gimmick though is the disccross mode. It makes no difference in play whatsoever. Matter of fact, I found the disc to perform better playing Street Fighter. But if you use the 360 controller in that game, I'd suggest using the analog stick instead.

Over all the games I tested: Super Meat Boy, SSF2THDR, Pac Man DX, the cross feature of the controller was not an improvement over the disc. It's a better D-Pad, but don't get excited about the cross.

Price:

I got this for $52 $20 Amazon Credit for a total of $32. As a replacement controller, this was absolutely perfect! It was the same price, came with a black rechargeable battery and charge cable, and fit my desire for better analog sticks. If you already have 2-4 perfectly good controllers, I do not suggest buying this as it's not a major improvement unless you absolutely need a new controller.

OK, when I first heard about this controller the first thing I said was about time!!! I am one of the very few people that prefer the PS3 controller, mainly due to the D-Pad. But for shooters the 360 controller cant be beat. But since day one the 360 has had that horrible D-Pad. So obviously when I heard about the new transforming D-Pad I had high hopes.

The main reason (if not the only reason) I bought this was for Fallout New Vegas. If you are familiar with it or Fallout 3 you know that you can "hot key" your weapons, etc to the D-Pad. Well because of how bad the original D-Pad was I would only use up, down, left, and right. If you tried to use ANY of the diagonal keys you would end up in BAD situations pulling the wrong weapon as a Deathclaw is storming at you and you really need your missile launcher, and you accidentally pull out a pistol.

In New Vegas up is already designated as your "change ammo type", so that leaves only 3 other reliable slots. So when I heard about this new controller and its "improved" D-Pad I thought awesome finally I can hot key more weapons, and not always have to open my pip boy to get to the right weapon. Well, I ordered it, and paid for one day shipping which was only 9.98, and the controller itself was only 51.99, even thought it retails everywhere else for 64.99.

So it came yesterday (ironically while I was playing New Vegas), so I decided to test it out. I hot keyed 7 weapons, and tried to use the D-Pad to pull out the right weapon. I tried it with just the plus (+), and then with the whole disc, and strangely it worked better for the diagonal presses when it was in the plus (+) formation then it did as the disc. And the results are overall just barely better. It still would pull out the wrong weapon about 1 out of every 3 times, when it use to be like 2 out of 3.

Another great test is to open up a message on your 360, and try to navigate the qwerty keyboard with the D-Pad only. You'll see how bad the D-Pad is, and that it is CONSTANTLY moving up when you press left, down when you press right, etc. Now if it were up to me, and I was a controller designer the perfect D-Pad would be a cross between the 360, and PS3 D-Pads. It would have separated up, down, left, and right like the PS3, but instead of a disc shape for the diagonal, it would have independent sections for diagonal. So that you would be able to properly press the direction you are intending. Ill try to insert a drawing of what I mean if I can.

But anyway to sum up the review I would say, unless you really need the plus shaped D-Pad for a game, then its not worth it. The new color scheme is kinda cool, but if you rely on the button colors for a game like Fable 3, then this ones not for you. The buttons are white, black, and grey now. I watched an interview with the main designer of XBOX equipment about this controller, and he mentioned several times that the improvements would help with fighting games, and maybe they have. I cant comment on that since I dont play fighting games. But for me, it wasn't worth it.

UPDATE: 11/18/2010

Ok, after using this for a couple weeks I felt I should update the review. I guess by using it for awhile it loosened up a little. Because now it works perfect. I can use all 8 directions in both modes. (plus and circle). And it works right now. I can pick the correct weapons that Im trying to. But when I try to use it for messaging its still constantly going diagonal when I need down, etc. So depending on what your using it for give it a chance. And just know that after a few days/ weeks (depending on how much you use it) it will get better with time. MUCH better that the original.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Silver Controller and Play & Charge Kit

This is a good looking controller, with some improvements over the original design. A lot of people are complaining about the lack of color on the a,b,x,y buttons, but I don't need them to have color anyway.

I like the new texture of the controller. It isn't a slippery surface and has a little tackier/rougher feel. Makes it easier to hold onto if your hands sweat. I also like that they added a bit of resistance to the thumbsticks. This should also help fix the problem of the thumbsticks getting "floaty" after some use. The trigger buttons also now have a curve, but doesn't really have an impact on use or feel for me, but okay design.

On to the directional pad. It still sucks. It is neat that you can convert it to a raised plus shape or more of a flat shape, but the underlying problem is still there. The d-pad is still on top of a disk, which makes it imprecise. I was trying to enter character names last night and had to use the thumbstick because the d-pad is so inaccurate. I would love it if they went to the ps3 style d-pad that is just four digital buttons instead of basically an analog directional pad.

Gave it 4 stars, would have been 5 if they fixed the d-pad.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Silver Controller and Play & Charge Kit

This controller is sweet. It's not meant to be a totally different controller so don't expect it to be, but it looks awesome and works just as well as any other Microsoft controller. The D-pad doesn't raise up when you twist it, the gray disc around the D-pad lowers so it still sticks up the same height on the controller. These are not meant to be replacements for all your current controllers but if you need another controller get one of these, you won't regret it.

This is an extremely nice controller and well worth the buy. It includes a play and charge kit with the rechargeable battery pack. This is extremely nice for when I am charging my other batteries.

Everything about the controller has been approved.

Early reviews have said that the D-Pad is still on a disc and that is the main problem. I agree that this is a problem, but the new d-pad is miles ahead of the sorry excuse for a d-pad the original controllers have.

The texture on the controller makes it easier to hold if you play for an extended period of time. It's very comfortable.

The new joysticks have a new texture on top of them and they are much better in every single way. The new greyscale style of the buttons is a unique touch that just adds to the "cool" factor of the controller.

I have gotten a good amount of use already and it is just MILES ahead of the other model.

I got this for my birthday the day before yesterday, it does the job. I have Guitar Hero: Metellica, Rock Band 2 and (now) Band Hero. The mic does really well but it seems to have a lot of echo to it, but it feels good in the hand and has a pretty good weight to it (I use to sing in bands so I know what mics should feel like). It's pretty sensitive (it picks up voice tremors during long note holds) when you hold it about an inch or so directly in front of your mouth. The cord to it is a good 10 feet or so, so there is PLENTY of room to walk around or just do whatever while singing.

I bought it for 7US plus 3US shipping. It came broken, it just didnt work, neither on the 360 or the pc. After playing around I realized that the cable was broken inside and with tape and some effort I could get it to work. But the sound quality you get from this microphone is really poor. I have two other microphones, and as soon as you get it, just by the weight of it you realize this one has inferior quality, that aside the sound you get from it its horrible.

Low priced but not even for that price its worth it.

The Konomi microphone for the Rock Band / Guitar Hero games has a black grill, Konami label, and 15 foot cable. How well does it perform?

First, some background. We own all the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. We own several other musical games as well. My boyfriend has played in a band for many years, and I've sung for many years. So we have plenty of "real" musical gear in the house as well. When we examine these microphones, we do so with an eye for accuracy.

Also, we have not only multiple of this Konomi microphone, but also the Rock Band branded microphones, the Guitar Hero branded microphones, EA branded microphones, and more. So we're comparing this Konomi one against a variety of competitors.

In terms of looks, the Konomi microphone is decent. The top grill is black. It has a subtle Konami logo in silver, on the shaft area. The cable is nice and long, so you hopefully aren't tripping the guitar players as they dance around in front of you. Also, the end of the cable that plugs into the console has a box that says "Konami" on it. So when you're figuring out which cable to unplug from the unit, you know this one is the microphone.

I do prefer the Rock Band branded microphone in terms of looks. I like the silver grill on the Rock Band microphone. I also like that the "box" actually has a picture of a microphone instead of the more vague "Konami" word. Still, minor issues.

When it comes down to it, the most important thing that a microphone can do is convey your voice as accurately as possible. The Konami microphone certainly shines in that area. I can routinely get 100% on expert level with this microphone. So it won't distort your voice nor lag. Whatever you sing, it'll get through to the game system.

The connector is a standard USB connector, so you can use this microphone with the Wii, XBox 360, and PS3.

Well recommended.

I paid for these microphones with my own funds in order to do these reviews.

You don't have to be a gamer to appreciate SimCity 4. If you have the hand-eye coordination to browse a website, you're covered there. You don't need a great sense of spatial relations with the various levels of zoom. You don't need to be able to make split-second decisions with the possible exception of quickly hitting the pause button. You don't need many of the traditional computer gamer skills to enjoy SimCity 4.

What you do need is the ability to make risk-benefit decisions, and a sense of how the real world works. You need to know, for example, that people with a few bucks in their pockets don't choose to live next to a factory, and you need to understand whether it's better to spend money to build a fire station now, or risk having to rebuild if you wait.

One thing that SimCity 4 does real well is it's simulation of how a government budget works. If, for example, you build an infrastructure that appropriately supports your city, you'll find that funding everything at 100% would require raising taxes beyond what the residents and business owners will stand for. Pretty soon you'll see abandoned residential, commercial and industrial properties. That means your tax base goes down, and you'll have to raise taxes even further.

If you take the alternative and cut the funding to your infrastructure so you can lower taxes, you'll be faced with teachers, fire fighters, police, transit and healthcare worker strikes, and satisfying them enough to bring them back to work will cost you more than appropriate funding would have.

Just when you think you've found that balance between funding your infrastructure and your tax rate, the power plant and roads you originally built start reaching the end of their lives, and you need to replace them. (You were building up a surplus you can tap into, weren't you?)

While your budgetary problems may consume you, there are other factors to consider. A big one is transportation. Sims don't like rush hour traffic any more than you do and probably less. If you let commutes get too bad, the Sims will stop going to work. You'll either need bigger roads, more efficient mass transit, or you'll need to move the factories and residential areas closer. But wait... Didn't we already establish that people don't like to live next to factories? Again you have to struggle to find a balance and that balance needs to fit within your budgetary constraints, too!

SimCity 4 Deluxe includes the Rush Hour Expansion Pack. In addition to more transportation options, Rush Hour (and thus Deluxe) adds a "you drive it" feature that allows you to control cars, planes, helicopters, and other transports. If you're really getting into the planning and strategy of the game, these options are a distraction. But if you're showing your city to someone less interested in city planning, a you drive it mission may be a fun way to tour the city.

Something I would love to see in real life is instead of having candidates for public office debate each other, set them down in front of computers, and have them prove their ability to successfully build a working city in SimCity 4. The only governing skill SimCity 4 doesn't simulate well is the ability to work with others. I think we should be very worried about any big city mayor who isn't able to demonstrate their abilities by being successful in SimCity 4.

With SIMCITY 4 DELUXE EDITION, which conveniently contains both the regular SIMCITY 4 plus the RUSH HOUR EXPANSION PACK, EA Games is really beginning to live up to their tagline "Challenge Everything." Apparently, the game designers decided to challenge everything that seemed to be holding the game back in the past, and have taken a brave step forward in designing this new edition with those of us in mind who want to be able to create a SimWorld. In other words, you now have an entire continent on which to build cities; instead of having fake adjacent cities that you're forced to do business with, you now can make your own adjacent cities yourself! You can choose from any of a hundred or so "squares" on which you can build one city after another and have them all trade with each other and everything! You can connect them with superhighways, rail, roads, power, water; it's great!

Another major improvement is in the increased flexibility in building up each of your cities. Remember how, in previous SimCity versions, it's such a pain to figure out where to place your streets within your zones? Not anymore; each time you lay out a zone, whether it be Residential, Commercial or Industrial, the game will automatically lay down a grid of streets for you! That saves A LOT of time right there. Also, remember how you had to blow up your streets in order to replace them with bigger streets? Now, it's a lot easier, because first of all, the road system is much better organized. For example, when you start building a town, you start by using the simple, narrow streets (which are now specifically labeled as being "streets"). However, as people move in and your streets begin to get crowded with traffic, you can then upgrade to wider roads. Eventually, as traffic begins to overwhelm your roads, you may upgrade to wide avenues. All you need to do to "upgrade" is to simply drag a road along a street, or an avenue along a road and---boom!---it automatically changes to a road or avenue. No more having to demolish anything in the process!

The Rush Hour Expansion Pack just adds a new dimension to the game: now you can go out on selected "missions" by car, boat---even helicopter---and earn new buildings, more money, etc. for your city. Admittedly, I'm still trying to get the hang of these missions, as they aren't too easy, but it's still a cool feature for the game. Also, the buildings and airports are in much better detail now, and there is far greater variety of them. There are also many new landmarks to choose from; they are in much greater detail and there is no longer any limit how many you may place. (However, you now have to pay to place them.) There are many new rewards for being a good Mayor, too!

My hope is that with SIMCITY 5, they will make everything more 3-D and will finally provide us with the ability for a ground-level Pedestrian View; imagine being able to walk the streets and boulevards of your own cities, drive around, even take your own trains! I think the possibilities are endless. Till then, this will have to do. But, for what it's worth, it's still a pretty darn good game!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR SIM FANS

Best Deals for SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition - PC

Well, being a fan of Simcity for a long time I decided to purchase this game, *after* I finally got a computer capable of running it the system requirements are very large, so it's not going to work well on a computer more than three or four years old.

I found out fairly soon that there were some problems with the game like spontaneous crashes and stuff, which need to be fixed by downloading a patch from the official website. And it still has occasional problems with crashing or parts of cities disappearing when I save. There could be significant improvements in stability here, and it doesn't appear that EA is going to release any more patches for the game.

The graphics are a definite improvement over the previous SimCity games, there's a lot more detail to everything, and there is a larger variety of buildings, although you still start to see the same building over and over pretty fast.

The game differs from previous versions right away the map is a large region of squares to build interconnected cities on. Unfortunately, there is no large-scale terrain editor here, nor is there a terrain generator as in Simcity 3000. Instead, you have to go into each little square and edit from there with the terrain tools, which are better than the previous versions, but aren't very useful in the sense that you will have to go back and forth between squares, reconciling the edges to make a realistic region. It is possible to import grayscale images into a whole region, but it requires being a total geek and a lot of time and patience, something that a lot of people won't have time to do.

Once you do have a suitable area to start the game is pretty fun, if a bit challenging. If you've never played the previous versions of this game before you'll definitely need to play the tutorials, and if you have played before, you are going to need to unlearn a lot of stuff. It can be a bit difficult at first to get things going and the money coming in, but after a little while you'll start to fill up the square on the map, and that's where things get start to get interesting. People can and will commute between two connected squares, and the two "cities" can trade utilies much like the neighbor deals in Simcity 3000. And from this point, at least in theory, you can build a much larger city.

That's the idea, anyway. In reality as my megacities expanded I've just noticed more and more problems that make the game become very frustrating. There are a number of problems I've hit at this stage of the game:

1. The large squares become basically unusable as they fill up. The transportation system becomes so complex that the simulation more or less gives up on finding paths for commuting, which in turn halts new development. I've had to stop using these altogether because of the choke they can put on the region. And then there's an issue where things like trees and other of the so-called "props" (basically a lot of small detail that goes along with buildings) may just disappear from large sections of these maps while saving the game.

2. The transportation system eventually stops working logically. People will start commuting just to the closest edge of the map connected to another "city", which leads to going in circles, extremely high traffic counts on side streets when there's an empty freeway nearby, and eventually brings the game to the point where I'm trying all sorts of strange tricks to force people into driving in a direction that makes some sort of sense.

3. There's also this issue with micro-management that becomes very annoying later in the game. Each school and hospital needs to have funding set for them just right if it's too low the workers go on strike for apparently eternity, if it's too high it's easy to lose a lot money fast. And then there's the fact that buildings (especially factories) catch on fire an awful lot, and apparently the fire department can't dispatch to these fires on their own.

4. It's difficult to build any sort of realism in these cities, partially because of the issues with the scale of things, for example you will likely need dozens of power plants scattered all over the place, and the same thing goes for sanitary landfills, and while it's theoretically possible to have some central location for these kind of things, in reality the cost is prohibitive. In addition people will not commute more than about 1 1/2 miles from their homes, which takes them like TWO HOURS in good traffic.

In addition, perhaps it's just me, but I don't see a whole lot of fun in the so-called "U-Drive-It" part of this game. I find it boring for the most part and difficult to use. I think this feature is way overrated and overhyped.

My advice is if you are already a fan of Simcity go ahead and buy this game (if your computer can handle it), but don't pay full price for it. If you haven't played a Simcity game before this one will likely be somewhat overwhelming and confusing and I would recommend buying and playing an older version, such as Simcity 3000.

Honest reviews on SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition - PC

Simcity 4 could probably be one of the best of its kind ever. The game is very realistic and involves most of the daily problems a city mayor has to deal with. It is even very difficult to keep the budget balanced. But here is a tip for this: when you start a new city, always create industrial zones and some commercial that will start to generate new business that would add an income to the city and they do not need any or but a few public services. One you have a big budget surplus you start creating residential zones and leaving space for public buildings. Never create small hospitals, fire and police stations, because in the long term you'll need about 3 times de number of big buildings to keep your citizents happy.

The only bad thing the game has is the fact that it needs a super pc to run always at a normal speed. I have a Pentium 4 2.80 ghz and 512 RAM with and excellent Video Card and when you use the zoom in your city it sometimes goes a bit slow. So I would suggest that if your planning to get this video game you better have a superb pc or you'll find it frustating to see that the game runs slow.

I don't know if this game can get any better but I sure hope so. Buy it, you'll end up playing it for hours.

First, some history:

I've been playing SimCity since the old DOS version. I loved it (all of Will Wright's sim games, like SimAnt and SimEarth), and loved the series even more when SimCity 2000 came out. I would spend sometimes all day playing it, and using SCURK to make my own buildings.

When SimCity 4 came out I begged my mother to buy it for me for my 21st birthday (she did), and I played it once then didn't play it ever again until just a few weeks ago. I finally got into the game then.

Let me tell you don't play SimCity 4 unless you've got Rush Hour or Deluxe because you'll never manage to get a city up and running. In no time there is too much traffic and the budget is terrible. You only get property taxes and an incredibly tiny amount of fares for public transportation (no wonder the CTA has never made a dime) as income, but everything else comes out of your pocket hospitals and clinics, schools, fire and police protection, as well as maintaince for the roads, pipes, and other infrastructure to keep a bustling metropolis going.

Rush Hour (or Deluxe) makes it all better your city has many more, sometimes cheaper, alternatives to transit, which helps reduce your burden. Use larger avenues for increased traffic, and place tollbooths on them and make a few hundred simoleons a month extra. Create elevated rails in your car clogged downtown and elimiate both traffic and pollution at once. On top of that, you now have easy/normal/hard modes that start you out with a bit more than the original 100,000 (500,000 in easy). Also, I swear, your population, jobs, and demand are more balanced in the expansion than the original game. It is also easier for commuters to get to jobs too I haven't seen a single No Job zot over any houses yet, even though my city is physically larger than any I'd created in the original SimCity 4.

On easy, you also get more from taxes than the other difficulty levels. Create cities next to each other and sell services, or better yet, put your power, industrial, and garbage in the next town and your residential and water in the first and sell back and forth. Use a few avenues to lead up to the industrial and place a tollbooth on each one and watch your revenues rise.

Just remember, though: read the manual SimCity 4 is really really complex and hard to understand at first, but is worth it!

I own a business with 12 PC simulators in an LAN running Nascar Racing 2003 season, so I've seen lots of wheels in the last 5 years. Starting with the PROS: The price was good, solid feel, pedals are comfortably apart from each other, lots of force/resistance. CONS: noisy (squeaks), small diameter wheel and the deal breaker *** The buttons cannot be assigned to keyboard commands *** There are only drivers for windows, no actual programming software. I used Saitek wheels (no longer available) for years, have (2) Logitech G-25's (not cost effective) and have since moved on to the Logitech Driving Force GT (Stellar Wheel). This wheel may be good for newer games that all the commands are not linked to keyboard strokes but doesn't work for my needs.

Well, it's a cheap wheel, if you compare to the top ones, like G27. But cheap should not be such a bad quality one! It doesn't work as I expected. I had high hopes for this wheel. A good racing wheel for half the price of the most of the others is what I wanted.

What I got was much more disappointing. The Wheel worked great for a little over 30days. I recently had purchased iRacing and wanted a cheap way to use some good force feedback.

The wheel worked great at first.

Then the screws that hold the wheel to the base came out. All four at the same time. I figured it would be a simple fix, pop the face plate off and screw the thing back down.

No it doesn't work that way. There is a bundle of wires that run from the base into the wheel. When I gingerly pulled the wheel from the base, some of the wires pulled out.

There is no way to fix this. First the sequential shifter stopped working, then the pedals which are attached stopped working.

I am out 100 bucks for being cheap and not buying the Fanatec wheel to begin with.

Lesson learned. Stay away from this wheel. It simply is not worth the money.

I bought this hard drive since i have an arcade, and it works great!! This is very well worth the money, since it is 30$ for a 60 gig. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros-

-Worth the money, for 30$.

-Works great

Ideal for 60 Xbox 360 Arcades.

Cons:

Only comes with 50 gigs.( This is normal, and not really a problem)

Comes in a stupid generic box.

Bottom line

Works great, and well worth the money, i definitely recommend this, buy it!

It works just as expected. Ease to install, just mount it to the side and it is automatically recognized. Can't compare it to another one as this is the only one that is been on the Xbox but I am sure that it is made in the same Chinese factory as the one microsoft sells.

I bought a new Xbox 360 and had to find a memory card. After looking at many different ones I came across this hard drive that more memory that most and costs less. I was weary at first, afraid I would get something that was so cheaply made it wouldnt work. However, I have owned it now for 3 months and Ive had no problems out of it. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

We've had this for about 3 weeks now. My son hooked it up to his XBox 360 with no problems and it has worked perfectly ever since. It's a hard drive, so there's not much more to add. Very pleased.
