I recently purchased a used Kinect bar to use with my old (white) Xbox 360. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the accessory does not work without an additional power cord/USB plug. As I said, I bought the Kinect used, and the seller originally had it as part of the Xbox 360 Kinect bundle which does not include the power cord. (The stand-alone Kinect has it, the bundle package doesn't)

Quick fix to the problem: Purchase this cable through Amazon (+free Prime shipping).

As you can see in the picture, the power cable splits into a female plug (for the Kinect cord) and a USB end (to plug into the Xbox).

Everything runs great and does exactly what it is supposed to.

Product arrived quickly due to Amazon Prime and came in a labeled plastic bag as packaging.

It works perfectly for my purpose of 3D motion capture on the PC after I got my drivers working properly.

In order for the Kinnect to work on the PC it require additional power that adapters like this provide. Cable was much longer than expected but that suited my needs fine.

I bought it to connect my Kinect to laptop. Got it in 5 days. Works as described. Cable is pretty long. Much cheaper than one sold by XBox store. Highly recommended.

Honest reviews on HDE Power Supply Cable for Kinect

I'm surprised by the previous review stating that it failed to work with his older 360. My 360 is from launch day and is somehow still running but I had a power surge that apparently damaged the Kinect power supply as it would no longer boot up (orange light and error message stating not enough power). I replaced the original cable with this one and everything is back up and running. No complaints

We have three 360's in the house, two of the new Slim/Black Kinect bundles and an older Falcon HDMI (White) 360. I bought this cable so that we can use the 2nd Kinect in the room where the older 360 is being played. Unfortunately even with the wall wart plugged directly into an outlet and the USB plugged into the back of my 360, I still am getting a "Not enough power" message.

I tried this cable with both of our Kinect sensors, one with the twin USB block and the other model that just has a flat jack, neither of them worked with my older 360. Both of them worked on either new Slim 360.

PlayStation 4: Launch Edition

I purchased the launch version at 12:15 Friday night of the 15th. I'm glad I did. Got up the next morning and looked online and they were already sold out.

With prime shipping it arrived Monday afternoon. I was worried that I was going to get a bad unit like a lot of other reviewers on here. Got everything hooked up and hit the power button... It flashed blue... I was worried for a second, then the light turn white and the PS logo appeared on the screen. Sigh of relief. First thing I did was run the latest firmware update. It updated without any issues.

Once you're at the home screen you're welcomed by soothing music and a clean feeling menu. After a couple of days I got tired of the menu background music so all I had to do was go to the settings and turn that off. Everything seems very snappy. My first real impression was how fast the PS store opened. On the PS3 it seemed to take forever, but on the PS4 it was almost instant.

Installed my first game (Battlefield 4) and once I inserted the disc the game immediately started to install itself. Within seconds it was ready to play. When I first entered the game I was told that to access the games network features I would have to install an update for the game. But for offline campaign mode I could immediately jump into it. I played the campaign for a few minutes then backed out so I could run the update and use the network stuff. The PS4 alerted me that it had started the download of the update and once complete that it was ready to install. It installed without a hitch and I was able to get into the game and access the multiplayer features.

Went ahead and installed the other two games I had purchased (COD Ghost and Need for Speed) both installed without issue. Got notified that they too needed updates so I went ahead and ran them. This being a launch system and as new as the games are I wasn't too surprised with all the updates.

It was getting late so I didn't get to get into much game play that night. Fast forward to now and I must say i'm quite impressed so far. I've been playing battlefield mostly and the graphics are phenomenal. Compared to the PS3 its a great improvement. I would have to say it give the PC a run for its money.

One thing I was really impressed was this. A friend was watching a movie on netflix. I came into the room and he wanted to show me something on COD. In a matter of seconds he went from netflix to game play. You hit the PS button and your back a the main menu... He had already played the game earlier so it was on standby. He selects the game, hits enter and the game came up almost immediately and he was back to where he left off. After watching him play a bit I was impressed with the quality of this game as well. Found a few glitches in the game, but I expect those will be fixed over time. I know Battlefield was having issues with some of its multiplayer maps. I guess thats what you get when you buy launch day consols.

Overall I'm liking it so far. But knowing Sony and the PS3 more is to come. I was disappointed in them not including the DLNA features because that was one of the main things I used on the PS3. I have a feeling that Sony will add this soon.

Those of you who are thinking about buying one this holiday. Wait till amazon or the stores get them back in stock. Don't buy one for $600-$1000 its not worth that cost. Plus by the time there back in stock the should have more of the bugs worked out.

I hope my review was helpful. To those who got bad units and are hating on Sony: Don't disqualify the PS4 yet. Get your replacement and give it another shot. I think you'll be glad you did.

I don't even know where to begin with my review. I guess I could say that I love the Playstation 4 or that it works perfectly and I've had no issues (apart from the Playstation Network being down a bit as it was getting hammered by all the new PS4 owners). I guess I'll just do a list or Pros and Cons:

PROS:

-The system itself looks awesome. Very architectural. It was actually the first thing my girlfriend commented on and said she loved the way it looked.

-The User Interface is basically an upgraded XMB. If you liked the XMB, you'll like this interface. It is also incredibly snappy and responsive.

-Getting in to and out of the Playstation Store is seamless. Not like on PS3 where it takes 30 sec to a minute to load. It loads instantly and is integrated in to the UI.

-Resogun is awesome in all its old school shoot-em-up glory.

-Killzone: Shadowfall is beautiful but I haven't had too much play time with it yet.

-Knack is surprisingly fun, despite what all the reviews say. It looks like a Pixar movie at points. Drop in co-op is a blast. It's so much fun with me as regular Knack and my girlfriend as Robot Knack. She is actually better at beating up baddies than I am.

-Updated trophy support. Rarity of trophies is a fun little data point to look at.

-Playstation APP/offscreen capabilities are nice. Typing using a touch screen is so much nicer than using a gamepad.

-DualShock 4 (the controller) is nice to hold. Trigger shoulder buttons are a marked improvement over the DS3 R2/L2 buttons.

-My favorite feature: VITA REMOTE PLAY! Works like a dream. Almost no perceptible lag. I was playing Resogun on it (a game that requires little to no lag or you'll die) and it ran so smoothly.

CONS:

-UI is barebones. That's actually fine with me but many people these days demand a more robust UI.

-Unable to delete unused Apps in the movie/tv section. If there is I haven't figured out a way to do it. Granted, I haven't tried that hard since I've been having too much fun playing games.

SUMMARY:

It's a great gaming system with some great games and a promising future. The interface is bare bones (which I like) and incredibly responsive but may not satisfy people who love a more robust UI. The remote play of the vita and second screen capabilities via Playstation App are nice additions that will get a lot of use out of people that own a Vita/Playstation App compatible phone. It is a device made to play games and does so wonderfully.

I let the dust settle a bit on this before writing the review on the machine. Have had for a week and love every min of gaming on it! Bought Battlefield 4, Knack and Killzone for it and they all look amazing on it. Especially going from Xbox 360 to this on battlefield. On the 360 the game would freeze every 20 mins and you would have to restart your xbox every time. Ultimately would get annoying and just the wish to play anymore. The 5 min load time every time would kill the mood to know would freeze 15 mins later. Also, the graphics are night and day, understandable that the machine is a upgrade (much needed) from the 7 year old console. But, the interface is much different from xbox and easier in my opinion to navigate. Also, do not have ads on every page (which is a plus for me). Great to have the machine install things on the back end while playing games and on standby.

Now, I understand that there is alot of tension between the 2 consoles right now. Which is understandable, people have a preference to their style. I have compiled a list of reasons the I went with the PS4 being a former Microsoft enthusiast. And, please for the love of God! If you did not buy from Amazon, don't post a review on here!

The hardware although better slightly in some areas is better in all the right areas (memory, video card). Playstation went with GDDR5 and Microsoft went with DDR3 ram on the board, which they are sharing with the 3 Operating systems. In turn means this is being spread out to 3 OS's and can be taxing on resources. The GDDR5 is VIDEO RAM not Local ram, which is video centric focusing on the memory of the graphics processor. Since these machines are essentially CPU/GPU taxed there is no need to focus on anything else like a PC.

Game centered.... I did not care about all the NFL and TV add on BS that came with the Xbox one. If you are the kind that did great. But, to me this round, Microsoft seemed to cater too much to making the Xbox a HTPC and not a GAMING console.

Did not want the kinect. Did not like the first version and never used it. Plus, the online pass for Sony is 10 dollars cheaper a year than Microsoft.

And, Finally...I have 2 Xbox 360's that have both been serviced twice BY MICROSOFT in the past 2 years. That is a total of 4 repair and a total of 400 dollars in repairs, for faulty hardware that they REFUSE to acknowledge when I essentially sent in for repairs. Would send in for an optical drive failure and would die a year later on both machines. Sure, I have the technical skills to repair it myself but was same price for parts as was for repair and did not void warranty. Ironically the SAME issues are rearing their ugly heads on the new consoles with the Xbox one.

Ultimately, this all boils down to what YOU the consumer want. I went for this machine because again, it focused on gaming and that was it. Also, the thing I did forget to mention, on Playstation plus you get cooler free games a month than you do on live.

Honest reviews on PlayStation 4: Launch Edition

Yes, this is a fantastic game machine.

SONY has already released the patch 1.51 for it, which got rid of the ONLY circumstance that I could crash it:

The Amazon video app seemed to have a memory leak or something. I could seamlessly switch out of a game (Assassin's Creed, Killzone, NFS, or Knack) and suspend the game while watching movies on Netflix, Crackle, or go online with the web browser or the PS Store. Not so when I used the Amazon App the first few days. My movies on Amazon App would also freeze all within the first 10 mins or so and the machine would lock up when i'd try to exit that circumstance.

After the 1.51 patch, delivered yesterday on 11/20 , Amazon app works fine and i'm unable to get the machine to lockup at all!!!!

So, the ONLY complaint I had since buying it is now gone.

I hope Amazon won't censure this for telling the truth about how it WAS, and is now fixed, because it involved their name, we can hope.

The GREAT:

SONY released an update to their developer's code library that let every game available speed up and become sharper (much like a PC might get a driver or Direct 3D update). So, by my count, ALL PS4 games are running at 1080p, with Need For Speed being the only one at 30fps instead of 60fps because the developers wanted it that way to ensure it looked the same on both machines. Most XBO Games are if you check around only running at 720p, and that's the honest truth. I don't spend more money on a LESS capable machine, so, it's PS4 for me only.

DualShock 4: The controller is Fantastic and a very nice update/refinement of SONY's tried and true pad. This feels like a professional gaming controller. I don't know HOW third parties are going to sell their own, this is really a wonderful thing, matching up VERY well with my Saitek P900 and P2900 wireless and wired PC game pads. Those look funny but I consider them my favorite controllers. Until now, the PS4 controller certainly channels the best desires of gaming designers and gamers needs.

Design: It's gorgeous, and, the angles and panels lend itself to getting designs and skins put on it. You get a nice dark kit that disappears into your home theater setup, but, if you want, it can be decorated with slipcover or sticker skins that could make it look striking. It's very small and light. I can't imagine a PS Four years down the road that is alot smaller and lighter, it won't seem right!

Launch Games: SONY didn't front load all of their first party studios with launch day deadlines. If you have a PS3 there's still amazing games that have come out and still coming out. SONY doesn't brick their last gen system when the new one comes out. The games are coming and the games we do have today are great. The games NOT made by SONY from EA, UBI Soft and Activision et al are all BETTER on the PS4, if not in gameplay due to the controller then just because they have 2x the fidelity of the XBO version. It's just the truth!

My Verdict: The ONLY MUST HAVE Game System at the moment.

Get a WiiU if you need game of the year, because, it might just be Super Mario 3D World from the review's i've just seen, but, make that your second system over this, because the games i've played on the PS4 are superb and the best Day One experience i've ever had with a game system!!!

Medal of Honor Collection - PlayStation 2 Reviews

Medal of Honor Collection - PlayStation 2

The classic war games of this vein (MOH) are updated for your enjoyment on the PS2! It's a shooting game for those who like historical accuracy (with some artstic license, of course) mixed in with some pretty intense gameplay.

In the Medal of Honor Collection, you have 3 games to play: Medal of Honor: Frontline, Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, and Medal of Honor: European Assault. The first of the 3 games deals with the major battles of WWII, including the water landing at Normandy in June, 1944. The second game is strictly set in the Pacific Theatre, and opens with your character attempting to escape a damaged destroyer before it is sunk by Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, in December, 1941. The final game in the collection is made with a whole new MOH format, which includes an adrenaline feature so you can go nuts on the enemy without taking damage, floating ammo/heath kit icons (instead of the standard items-on-the-ground format from the previous games.

MOH Frontline is my favorite game so far. The D-Day assault mission is VERY intense. It remainds me of the scene from Saving Private Ryan! There is a recoil on the weapons when firing, and also when a bomb drops, the entire screen shakes. It makes it very difficult to get a good accuracy rating.

MOH Rising Sun is a great game! I have never played a shooter so throughly steeped in the Pacific Theatre as is this MOH title.

MOH European Assault is a good game too, yet I haven't played that one trough very far yet!

One element that successfully ties all 3 games together is, your character actually works cooperatively with other computer controlled allies that help you during the missions. This is especially true in MOH Risisng Sun, and MOH European Assault. A great series of games awaits you in this Collection!

The Medal of Honor series is not only an excellent first-person shooter game on its own, but is quite entertaining if you are more social and still like to play multiplayer split-screen with friends it's one of only 3 games I play anymore.

While Frontline seems to be single player, (I haven't even opened it) in Rising Sun you can engage in a two-player cooperative campaign! This is unique to Rising Sun EA dropped that play mode for all future MoH iterations and I am not aware of any other first-person shooter like it.

Rising Sun and European Assault also support other multiplayer play modes plug in a multitap adapter and you can split your screen 4 ways for 4-player action. Could be a great party game if you like shooting things!

Rising Sun multiplayer team death match allows you to have up to 8 total players, including AI, so add in some AI players and the fun goes on for a long time. Gang up against against an all-AI team, or divide up into 2 human player teams and add in some AI to help your less proficient friends!

Unfortunately in European Assault they dropped the AI players from multiplayer modes, but they added some fun arena-based games like Capture the Flag. Also European Assault graphics and gameplay are significantly better than all previous MoH iterations I think they are pushing the limits of the PS2 console and it looks great for being a PS2 game! After playing European Assault for a while and then going back to an older MoH game it is apparent I've taken a step back in gaming technology.

You don't get the most recent MoH for PS2 in this collection, Vanguard, but I own that separately and will admit that it is in many ways not nearly as good as European Assault. Seems like they slapped it together to please the PS2 crowd during a time when they were spending most of their resources developing the PS3 game.

This is a nicely-priced collection of some very popular games, but it comes at a price: online play is NOT supported. I noticed that this info is not listed on the Amazon site, and hope to save someone the frustration of buying this product with the intention of playing online.

Honest reviews on Medal of Honor Collection - PlayStation 2

Fun, Fun and more Fun. The high end graphics are not the strenght of this game but the different missions and skill levels will replace that and if you are like me (a 37 year old man child) you will pay no matter to that particular point.

It's perfect to kill time when nothing's good on TV or you want to give a rest to reading Fantasy(wich is just as Fun..or even more depending on what are you reading).

Great price for an incredible combo. Medal of Honor Collection it's a must have.

Cheers!!!

My daughter loves this game, so she says, I think only because "Victorious" is her favorite show. But the game seem to lack energy and not challenging enough. May work for a lot younger kids. My daughter is 5 1/2 and she finds it very easy. She loves to sing so her favorite is the Karaoke.

If your goal is to give your child a birthday present that leaves her sobbing in frustration, buy her this game. The controls for the game SUCK. As you're selecting an option, you swipe your arm across your body. Well, most of the time it changes what you've selected right as you select it,and then you're forced to re-play a part of the game you've just done, because it has no "back" option once you've selected something. Nearly impossible for kids to navigate on their own, so you end up doing it for them. Also sometimes it just flips around wildly highlighting options for no apparent reason, even when you're holding perfectly still. Damn game is apparently possessed. We love the TV show but the game is impossible to play. My daughter mainly wants to dress up Tori, but in order to do costume changes you have to unlock all the options and guess what is too difficult for a seven year old to unlock? Oh, that's right. Game is practically worthless for kids, but if you're an adult fan of the show and a professional singer/dancer, then you might have fun with this game.

Best Deals for Victorious: Time to Shine - Xbox 360

Bascially the game has no storyline or anything. You dance, sing, play air guitar, and act out certain movements to the songs all played in the show. Everything's repetitive....they just change the songs.

Sing: You just stand there and sing and you can dance (your little avatar person will move with you), but for the most part it's boring.

Dance: The dancing routines are actually good! But there's no practicing them; you just pretty much go with the flow and some moves can actually be hard.

Guitar: You mimic (with air guitar) what the person is doing with their guitar. So in another way like the dancing.

Acting: You just do poses with your body....For ex., Sikowitz (right name?) will tell you to act like a tea pot. So you do. And so on.

You can make a "music video" which is just doing all of this together (singing, dancing, air guitar, and acting) but you can't even watch the video afterwards. So it's kind of pointless.

Overall the game is ok. The graphics look cool and actually look like the students! The voices are actually their voices. You can make your own person and unlock more clothes as you go on, but truthfully I think you will only enjoy this if you like the songs. And since no dance game like Just Dance, Dance Central, etc have Victorious songs I like this game. The music is the only thing keeping me from returning it.

It's about time this anthology gets released in North America; we had to watch as it gets delayed time & time again while the PAL version gets released in Europe before ours.

This is basically a localization of the Japanese version, so no V Special. I'm not disappointed that it's not in this collection. As to why it's not here, take your guess from one of the following possibilities:

1. It being the last game for the Neo*Geo, SNK Playmore wanted to keep it available only for that system.

2. SNK Playmore USA wanted to add it the North American release, but took it out to keep its Teen Rating.

3. Seeing the negative response that the American-made King of Fighters CollectionThe Orochi Saga got from gamers, they decided to just localize the Japanese version.

Like the previous collections (the Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting & World Heroes ones), the main screen has a beehive design. From there you pick which mode you wanna play (arcade, vs. & training mode) & from there pick from the 5 Neo*Geo Samurai Shodown games. The first 2 games have virtually no loading once the game starts while the rest loads between matches & the load time is very brief. Of the 1st 5 games, the only one I found to be a dud is SSV due to the fact that bosses are very cheat & the fact that there are no endings. (the XBOX version of Samurai Shodown V had endings) Even III had endings albeit text ones & is more enjoyable despite the bad balance that game had.

Samurai Shodown VI is separate from the 1st 5 games & has to switch emulators as it runs on different hardware than the other ones. Basically a dream match, bringing back every fighter that appeared in the 2-D series, it's the "Street Fighter Alpha 3" of the series. After picking your fighter, you choose from 6 "spirits" based on previous installments. Unlike the other games in this collection, this isn't based on the arcade game but the PS2 version & for good reason; there's more fighters, extra spirits (including one where you can customize your own spirit) & extra modes like training, & survival mode. As this is based on the version found in the Japanese version of this collection, everything's already unlocked from the get-go (in the PS2 version that came out a few years ago in Japan you had to unlock everything on your own.). Also unlike the other games in this collection, there's no blood or gore & for the record, the arcade game didn't have it either.

At the end of day, you'll either love or hate Samurai Shodown VI. I happen to love it...a lot. Love the large number of fighters you can pick from & the new fighters (esp. Andrew who's based on President Jackson & Iroha). While the final boss Shin Gaoh is a bit of a cheat, he's easilier to beat than Gaoh in V & the endings are some of the best I've seen in the series. While not the best game here, it's WAY better than V will ever be.

Even without V Special or even unlockablies, this is still a great collection & Samurai Shodown fans should rejoice. When you have cousins who play mostly modern 3-D games & can't wait for this to come out, you know this will be a big bestseller. Now I'm waiting to see if King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match gets released in North America something in the future.

With SNK's recent compilation releases of their various franchises, I've been anxiously waiting one featuring the Samurai Shodown games. Well, here we are finally. Samurai Shodown Anthology features Samurai Shodown's I-VI, with Samurai Shodown VI making its first appearance on the PS2 in America. The games have been emulated wonderfully, and all play just as well as I remember them being. For me personally, Samurai Shodown VI is worth the price of admission alone, featuring a huge roster of fighters and some deep and varied fighting mechanics as well. While it isn't without its flaws and not such a favorite of other fans of the franchise, it's the best of the bunch, and it's good to finally see it make it to our shores on a console. The only real flaw of Samurai Shodown Anthology is that Samurai Shodown V Special isn't included here, which is a crying shame. That aside though, Samurai Shodown Anthology is another great, budget-priced SNK compilation that is definitely worth your time if old school, 2-D fighters are your thing; and if you're an SNK buff, this is more than worth picking up.

Best Deals for Samurai Shodown Anthology - PlayStation 2

Samurai shodown was a great series. I played the first one in tedium until I got every ending and it can be considered the 2D parent of soul calibur. (Samurai shodown likely did "inspire" soul edge)

The problem is some games age well and some do not. Perhaps it's safe to say that I forgot just how hard these games could be.

Samurai shodown has always been more about timing than combos and if you are used to very fast paced fighters this anthology may disappoint you somewhat. The first few games feel a bit "broken" in the multi hit chain department and the big emphasis is placed around "fury strikes" which is the equivalent of a hard hitting fierce attack. In addition there is a very slow movement flow which hampers enjoyment. Many of the Samurai shodown characters were "redone" for Neo Geo battle coliseum and it seems as if they were a lot more quick and effective in that brawler.

However this is not to say that things do not pick up a bit with samurai shodown 4 and 6.

Many people complain SS 6 has no blood or fatalities BUT it is by far the best in the series featuring EVERY character, decent story progression, a more balanced and combo friendly dueling system, returned disarm and weapon breaking techniques, and even the opportunity to change up "spirits" for each protagonist and antagonist which give you different bonuses and styles during combat.

Pretty much SS 6 can be related to Street fighter Alpha 3. It's spirit styles are akin to different "isms" and despite it's huge roster it refused to sacrifice the plot. This is very commendable to put it mildly.

If you love hard fighters I whole heartedly suggest playing the first 2 SS games. They do not have as many options to tweak as the later installments and even on "beginner" they can be unrelenting. Also if you enjoy the blood and gore factor the earlier entries are a safer bet.

My biggest disappointment is SS 5. It is not the "special" version and not only were the coolest fatalities in the franchise removed from this iteration but it also has NO endings. Even SS 3 which many fans consider one of the weakest links in the series still shines brighter than V.

As far as 2D weapon based brawlers go you cannot get much better than samurai shodown. Last Blade is perhaps the only other title out there that can compete with it.

In closing the price you pay for all 6 of these games is quite a steal.

Pros

+ A weapon based fighter with deep characters and a good story

+ most games feature things in your environment you can damage to reveal power ups or other goodies.

+The fighting physics gradually improve with each sequel

+ First few games offer a very competitive challenge for enthusiasts that like to work hard for their victories.

+Good sound tracks from beginning to end.

+Worth the price just for SS 6 by itself.

Cons

-Jaggy pixels are showing age

-First few games feel a bit slow and unresponsive.

SS V has NO endings and NO fatalities.

-The number of game options in each title vary so in some iterations you are able to tweak away until you are satisfied whereas in others you are not.

The text translations can be awful. Some female characters are referred to as "he" and there are numerous other grammar errors. If you are a English language elitist this collection will put you in the loony bin!

Worth it? If you like "retro gaming" this is a piece of nostalgia heaven. The character designs are vibrant with a lot of lovable personality and underneath the "bad engrish" there is a captivating story line. When you think about today's hyped brawlers most of them have begun failing miserably in the plot department and are guilty of shamelessly putting in "famous icons" from big names in entertainment just for extra advertising. (Cough. Soul Calibur 4! Cough.) Samurai Shodown is from that bygone age when developers were not afraid to be original and have a franchise stand on its' own merits.

However if you have "moved on" to 3D fighters without looking back Samurai Shodown is not going to miraculously convert you or make you reminisce about the days of old. Even on a 2D scale there are titles with smoother sprites and better overall fighting mechanics. (Such as Super Street Fighter II HD mega mix) Because of this I was forced to knock down both parts of my rating by one star.

Honest reviews on Samurai Shodown Anthology - PlayStation 2

Pros:(1)Overall, the collection is a perfect arcade port perfect transfer from NeoGeo engine and Arcade systems, inc engines. Brilliant color and graphics and fast action like never before making the individual Samurai games"(Console version -based) terrible now. The main menu system is very nice and easy to access and save your progress. While in idle mode, the game displays multiple scenes of each dual from each series, which is very cool.

(2)Specifics on the game: the feel of the controls are pretty much the same compared to joystick action, except for the special moves and rage engage, but that is easily relearned. The sound is crisp and the custom mode is super cool, changing thier color outfits and choosing which spirit you want to use for any of the first 5 games, really cool.

(3)Special bonus: Samurai Shodown 6 is top notch and makes part 5 like part 3. Not only are the special moves easier to manuever, but the special finishing moves and power gauge is totally "BOSS"and so beautifully painted! Great playability and couldn't stop playing part 6 until I defeated the Main Boss three times in different levels, a great game.

Cons: (1)It was a real pity that they didn't include Samurai Shodown 5 Special, despite the slight difference, special was better. (2)How come they didn't include the option to change it to the original Japanese mode? Sometimes its cool to see those Japanese characters on fire when fighting!

(3)I felt the introduction music and video sucked! Since this game represents a long timeline of the games, I was expecting a real authentic Japanese and in depth and personal introduction, whereas the video intro appears to be a cheap method of putting together clips of each series with the Earthquake theme from part 1, which I felt was crap.

(4) The way they made the index was weird, making part 6 standing on its own, probably because of the original format(PAL) and the game size they had to apply it as a stand alone title on the disc, still they could have used a better indexing system or even a cool intro video similar to Soul Calibur intro video.

Special news: I am happy to say that Samurai Shodown has not died just yet, and a new game release is coming out on the PS-3, called THE SPIRIT OF DESTINY. Looks awesome and very real, and can't wait to play it.

Overall I give it 5 gold stars!!

Thanks for reading.

Samurai Shodown I-VI all at your fingertips, all arcade-perfect, although SamSho 6 has slight load times. Unlike the Japanese release everything is unlocked from the start, so you're ready to go with all your favorites from day one. To purists, this does NOT include Samurai Shodown 5 Special, which may be a huge loss to some, but this is a solid collection for any fighting game fanatic.

Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of the Future
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Let's get one thing straight: This is easily the most realistic dolphin simulator on the Dreamcast today.

The graphics are, in a word, outstanding. When I got my first look at the undersea world (at the game's option screen, no less), my mouth was agape. Sunlight rippled on the colorful ocean rocks, jellyfish bobbed slowly in the gentle tide and bubbles lazily floated to the surface. It truly was beautiful. It's clear that the good folks at Sega did their research when it came to creating this undersea domain.

The animal models themselves are also well-done. Ecco looks and swims just like a real dolphin. Add countless sharks, fish, jellyfish, turtles and other undersea life and you have an entire ocean at your fingertips.

Enough rambling about the graphics, there's a game to play.

To begin with, I don't really care for the story. Sometime in the future, humans and dolphins work together to explore space. Some interstellar deity known as the Foe doesn't take kindly to that, and invades the Earth. Mankind, with its limitless intellegence and resources is forced to stand by while the dolphins take matters into their own hands. Er, flippers.

Naturally, you control Ecco in the 3-D undersea world. All of his moves from his 16-bit days are here. You can swim, swim really fast and sing songs. There are a few powerups, most of which let you swim even faster.

The controls are actually difficult to master. Getting Ecco to swim is easy, getting him to swim the right way (AWAY from the sharks) is harder. You'll die quite a bit.

Plus, the missions (several in each level) are rather vague. Generally, you'll enter a new area; a nearby crystal will give you a very general hint, and you're left to fend for yourself. You'll rescue other undersea life, battle currents, jellyfish and millions and millions of sharks. Have fun!

Seriously, a little more guidance would have been welcome. This is a huge game, and the levels are very large. Just figuring out where to go is the game's biggest challenge. Plus, once you get there, mind-numbing puzzles will plague you every step of the way.

Don't buy this game just because of its graphics. It's a very deep and involving game, and there's hours of fun available for people who have the time. The rest of us, however will just want to watch Ecco swim and jump in the calm waters of the opening level.

Playing the demo of Ecco the Doplhin: Defender of the Future at E3 in May is what convinced me to purchase a Dreamcast. It is the best game I have seen or played for the system, edging out Jet Grind Radio, a great game in its own right. The graphics are superb, play control is intuitive, and the environment is immersive yet beautiful. Playing this game, you feel like you are a dolphin swimming in crystal waters, avoiding sharks, and (though the demo was't complete so I don't know for sure) saving the world. Sega and developer Appaloosa both deserve praise for this game, one where the avatar is not a gun-toting bi-ped, but instead a sleek aquatic mammal. I love sports games, fighting games, RPGs, and action adventure titles, but for most new games in these genres, you get the feeling you've played it before. Not with Ecco. Bordering on revolutionary, Ecco delivers a gaming experience freshly different and totally enjoyable. Sega should also be proud of this game as it showcases how fluid and graphically stunning games on the Dreamcast can be. Ecco is a must buy for any Dreamcast owner. If you aren't one already, become one, and get this game when it comes out.

Best Deals for Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of the Future

The Ecco The Dolphin games for Sega's previous systems have always been a relaxed and relieving alternative to the droves of violent action/fighting games. Ecco The Dolphin: Defender Of The Future for Dreamcast carries over the theme and atmosphere of the past Ecco games, and injects the formula with smooth and realistic 3D evironments. This has to be one of the best looking console system games ever. Once you get over the hypnotizing graphics and sound however, you will find there are some problems with this game. The control is precise and responsive, but some levels are way too difficult, and offer little information to help the player complete the next objective. Unless you are a seasoned gamer, you will be overwhelmed to the point of boredom with the longs hours you must spend in order to finish Ecco. This is not one I would recommend for the kids...a lot of patience and skill are needed to play this game. If you are looking for a game with tons of depth that will pass the time however, you've certainly found it. Even if it makes you pull your hair out from frustration, Ecco: Defender Of The Future is a great title to have to showcase the graphical abilities of the Dreamcast, if nothing else.

ECCO : DOTF. Received my copy a few weeks ago. Have been playing it alot, here is what I think of this game ;D Boot up, nice classic "SEGA" image appears (no music). Followed by the Appoloosia Interactive Loga (no music). You cannot skip past these scenes. Finnally you are presented with a luscious title screen, With Ecco presented in the middle, truley awesome title screen. But there is still no music! I looked down at my VMU and saw it has said "LOADING" on it, with these bubbles. Looked back at the screen and music began to play, "PRESS START BUTTON" flashes on the screen. You can see why it took a few seconds to load, it was because the following menus are AWESOME! Hit with 3D underwater scene with menu text in the middle, nice sounds... "poP pOP PoP" and "Gulp", real water sounds. They are very nice menus.... The game is very high quality. So much time has been put into it. At the start of a new game, after you have enetered in your VM Save game name (2 Blocks VM Data), you begin. BLAH BLAH BLAH. The levels are hard to start with, controls seem to be apart of that problem, I have only just really got the hang of it. When I first tried to move Ecco, I went all over the place! Remember, he can turn upside down, all around, knocks you off sometimes, like the small caves... There is always a task to complete in the levels. The levels are really good. The VM uses 6 blocks, for ECCO settings and an additional 2 blocks for each Save file.

Graphics are very high quality. Really pumping graphics in this game. The sound is also very good. Music is relaxing and changes often to suit the scene. There are two 2D levels in the game, they are like bonus levels, They look so cool! Although they are the classic 2D side on view, they have added a 3D 128bit touch to them, and they are so much fun ;D What really makes this a classic game, is the emotional story line. I am very impressed, although I havnt completed the game (which is massive) , I find the story is one of the best things you need in a game, Ecco has it. Its very touching. I hope you have found this review helpful. Dont turn down this game, its true quality.

When Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future was first released for the Dreamcast, it's mouth watering 3-D graphics and incredibly realistic environments were unlike anything else seen on the system to date, and even today with the Dreamcast sleeping with the fishes, Ecco is still one of the top best looking games for the ill-fated system. Just as it's 16-bit incarnations provided for the Genesis years before, this 128-bit update offers the aforemented incredible graphics and very challenging gameplay. As I said before, the graphics are incredibly lifelike and Ecco and all his on-screen fellows move very fluidly and it will be hard not to take your eyes off the screen. Unfortuneately, the same steep learning curve has been inherited here as well. It is very easy to get completely lost and stuck in the game and not know where to go or what to do next. All in all, this isn't a game for novice gamers, but for those who have played Ecco games of the past and look for challenging and lengthy gameplay will have plenty to look forward to here.

This adaptor is supposed to work for several systems, including XBox, Gamecube, N64 and others (where is the Dreamcast inclusion)? Hooking this up to either a N64 or Playstation (original) makes it sound horrible. It sounds like static while the game is running. It is so bad that you can not coherently hear voices or music, it all sounds very scratchy. Without the clean sound, obviously, some games are completely unplayable. I am sure it likely works that way with other systems, too. Do not be fooled by the price. Please just buy a first party rf cord for each console of your choice.

Ok i got this item but when you put an n64 system on the adapter and you turn the system on, it takes like 5 seconds for the screen to come up. After that the sound quality is very poor. I dont know about other systems but on n64 it dosent seem to work very good.

I actually disagree with the 2 reviewers on it not working for the n64 I have used this adaptor for my N64 on Zelda and Harvest Moon 64 and haven't had a problem hearing the music, sound, or voices. Also it is a very good adaptor and I am considering buying another one since you can switch between systems since I own a Cube, a Ps2, and a N64 and it does come in handy because my nephew comes out with a game for either the Gamecube or the Ps2 each weekend and thanks to this adaptor I don't have to pull out the av cords or a single adaptor for each system. In my opinion this is probably the best adaptor on the market for the old systems now I don't know if it will work for the Ps3 yet since I haven't tested it yet.

Back when the original Myst came out the two gripes I had were that 1) It was just a slide show and 2) It was stuck at 640 X 480. I realized that the systems at the time could not handle a full motion 3D version and it would look like crap if they could. What you have here is basically the same game in full 3D with user-definable resolution/bit depths up to 1920 x 1440, 32 bit color. You should see this game at 1920 x 1440 with 32 bit, uncompressed textures and full-screen anti-aliasing. Every frame is like a high-res calendar print! I have a PIII 533 EB with 256 MB of RAM and the ATI Radeon 64MB DDR video card. Please understand that the makers of this game were not concerned about performance issues; they just wanted to make it look as good as possible hence there probably is not a machine in existence today that can run it at 1920 x 1440 32bit and get 60 frames per second. My machine gets about 5 fps in outdoor scenes and upwards of 30 indoors. This is with all the settings maxed out. Lower resolutions don't seem to help. I think it's because of the animated textures. Both the sky and water are full motion animated textures. When you just sit and look at them they go at at least 30fps. When I first got it I just sat on the beach and watched the clouds go by and the waves lap against the sand. I was then shocked to eventually see the sun go down with a gorgeous sunset and stars starting to peep out, and eventually night fell with a sky full of winking stars which were periodically obfuscated by the passing clouds. As far as 3D graphics are concerned, Unreal Tournament is no comparison. These are flat out the best 3D graphics of any game ever. The mouse movement was not a problem. I don't know what some of the other reviewers are talking about. I have played many 3D games extensively and had no problems whatsoever adapting to the interface. If anything it's easier than the original version. Buy this game now!!!

Myst, the game that sold over 5 million copies worldwide and is still considered one of the most popular games around. Imagine yourself stranded on a deserted island and in order to get out of the island, you have no choice but to explore the island. In the process of doing that, you discover the dark secret of the island...

In the original Myst game, in order to get around the beautiful surrealistic landscape, it was just a simple mouse click on the static 2D image. To move left, you click on the left of the screen, to move right, you click to the right of the screen and so on. It was like watching a slideshow. In RealMyst, the new version of Myst, all this has changed.

Myst was just like real life. You will never die and you have to solve many cleverly designed puzzles that are scattered all over the island. The puzzles are fun, but can be frustrating at times. And the fact that you can never die is actually a plus point, it takes out the frustration of solving the puzzles.

In RealMyst, the storyline is the same however, there is a new ending, which is actually a bonus stage that was not included in the original Myst. Everything in RealMyst is in 3D and real time. Unlike most 3D games, the textures of RealMyst are strikingly realistic. RealMyst also features real time, that means that night will turn into day and there will be weather changes. All these new features and the freedom to move around and look in any direction that you wish, will fully immerse you into the rich and surrealistic world of Myst.

RealMyst could have been better if not for the steep system requiremnts. Even on the the fastest computers, it runs slow.

Overall, RealMyst is a game worth playing but if you are looking for something fast and exciting, this is not the game for you.

Best Deals for Real Myst

I like the Myst Universe. While it is arguably more visual flourish than a deep story, the Myst universe has the abiltiy to pull you in. This suspension of disbelief is intensified by removing the jarring still frames of a slide show and opening up to full 4-D freedom. Graphically, RealMyst is gorgeous: real-time lighting effects, atmospheric shifts from night to day, birds and frogs moving about. While the geometry is slightly simplified from the original, the retexturing with more realistic materials more than makes up for it. Sound is more well done than the graphics. In the Channelwood Age, there are three distinct levels of ambient sound. On the ground, water gurgles and frogs croak. As you ascend to the trees, wind begins to blow, leaves rustle, and birds chirp. Music fades in at appropriate moments to accentuate discoveries and set the mood. Graphics and sound almost are the gameplay, but those two aspects are supplemented by intuitive puzzles. If you have never played Myst, this is a definite buy. If you have played Myst before, even years ago, you may find yourself finishing too quickly. By today's standards, RealMyst is a short game. If you are quick-witted or have some recollection of the original game, you can finish this is a few hours. Once the game has been played through, there is nothing left to brig you back.

Honest reviews on Real Myst

I take exception to the professional reviewers comments about Myst in general, though it is true that to run realMyst you DO have to have a monster system...fortunately, I just bought one recently.

If Myst were such a dog of a game, as the reviewer says, why has it been a top seller for SEVEN YEARS??!! Obviously, he is one of those blood-n-guts, X-treme violence, action-oriented, adrenaline pumping game fans. I do not feel that all computer games have to be of this genre, and obviously I am in good company.

Yes, I'm a Myst junkie, but my first experience at gaming was a gentle game called Loom, by Lucas. The puzzles, though simple, sometimes took a long time to figure out, but I appreciated not dying during the game, and being able to try and try again. Myst is a much better game, of course, but some of us just like our gaming to be cerebral and slow-paced, rather than having to keep shooting and try to figure out how to survive on the run.

Oh, yes, I am eagerly awaiting Myst III: Exile...

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Real Myst

While RealMyst offers fans a lot of what they have always wanted, it does have it's limits. The good parts are that you do get to move around in a more realistic world, and the birds, fish, rolling waves, animals and addition of night to day are really quite beautiful. There are the added benefits of what brought Myst fans to near cultlike adoration: it is a relaxing, soothing game that has wonderful music and allows the player to really feel that he/she is entering another land. It still has that appeal and that's what makes it fun.

The bad part is that anyone with any sensitivies (like myself) to motion are going to have to be very careful. Within 10 minutes of starting the game, the movement got the better of me and motion sickness set in. The movement is "real" in the computer sense but in computer movement, there is no such thing as a "steady cam". So any movement of the mouse produces a lot of "yaw" and "pitch". The playing screen fills the monitor field and there is no way to adjust it and put a border around it to allow your brain to orient itself. Careful, slow clicking and movement will allow you to play the game with the drawback of making it a VERY slow process. But for those who would like to experience amore realistic Myst, it is worth the money and time and with exposure, anyone who is sensitive can build up a tolerance.

I bought this item thinking it was too good to be true...well it was. It turns out that the product I recieved was not the 100ft cable. Instead they sent me a 15m cable which is just under 50 feet. Typical for an online purchase like this. Last time I will be buying from these guys.

Great company to do business with. I had the cable in a few days and it works perfect. I was a little confused with the description "for PS3 XBOX 360" All I wanted was a plain old cable and that is what I got. The price was much cheaper than the big box stores(including the shipping) plus they don't even sell it in 100 foot lengths.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having tolerated the Turtle Beach X41 wireless headphones for a while, stepping-up to the XP300s has been incredibly satisfying. Turtle Beach seems to have finally provided all the functionality that I've desired (plus some I didn't expect), while improving the overall comfort and feel of the headphones. While a few things have been overlooked, my overall experience has ben positive.

Comfort: I can wear these for hours. The padding on the earcups is very comfortable, and they don't make my ears (or head) warm. The over-the-head band is comfortable as well, but while the headband expands sufficiently to increase size, I still wish they were just slightly smaller. However, they don't fall off and they stay positioned while moving around.

Sound: There are two things to consider regarding sound quality with wireless headphones:

1) the transmission through wireless. These are considerably improved over the X41s I was using. I can't detect any hiss during non-audio segments, and haven't had any issues with interference with other wireless networks (I am running simultaneous wireless-G and wireless-N networks in my home, in addition to 5 Ghz cordless phones). The XP300s run on two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), and will automatically switch between them based upon interference. Only once in a while do I detect this transition, but it is seamless. No pops, no clicks -perfect audio always.

2) sound output. While these are improved over the X41s, they still don't exactly hit the mark when it comes to the bass response. Overall, however, the sound quality is relatively balanced, with very good midrange (for voices) and decent, if not exceptional bass response. Treble/highs are perfect, from my perspective. The headphones offer the ability to adjust the "tone", so you can boost the bass (or bass and treble, as an option). While there is also an option to increase the stereo field (like an artifical surround sound), I think it stretches the sound too thin.

Connection: I am using this with an Xbox 360. Unlike the X41s, however, there is no optical input on the control device. You have to use any available analog audio output (either on your 360 or on the back of your TV) and connect it directly to the control device. This could make connections challenging in some situations, and the lack of an optical input provides a less-than-ideal audio response. Fortunately, the control device/transmitter is small, and it does provide an auxilary-in jack, so you can also connect an MP3 player or any other device to it. The control unit/transmitter is powered by USB, so you will need a free USB jack in order to power the transmitter.

Power: the headphones have built-in, non-replaceable rechargeable batteries. They are charged via a proprietary USB cable (you'll need another USB port for this). Fortunately, they can be charged while in-use, so a "low battery" warning doesn't mean you need to switch to something else. Unfortunately, once the low battery warning starts to beep, you have no idea how much additional time you have available. Fortunately, I've been getting 15-20 hours from them.

Wireless Chat: These XP300's solve the one problem I've had with the X41s and other similar headphones -they now provide true wireless chat with the 360. The package includes a small bluetooth transmitter that plugs into your 360's controller. It then syncs with the headphones, and transmits audio via bluetooth. From my perspective, incoming chat is perfect, and nobody has complained about the quality of my voice. The benefit here is that I can finally put my controller down, and get up and walk around the room (or out of the room, within about 30 feet), without having to carry a semi-wired controller around with me. I can still hear things and talk to others without being tied to the controller. NOTE: if you are using the 360's "Chatpad", you can't use the included controller transmitter. You will either need to remove your Chatpad from the controller or use the included cable to hardwire your headphones to your controller (which is how the X41s work).

Bluetooth: In addition to wireless chat, the headphones will also sync to a cellphone via bluetooth...and it can handle booth wireless chat and a cellphone connection simultaneously. This means that you can take calls from your phone while gaming -this is incredible functionality that is extremely helpful -no more missed calls, and no more taking a headset off in order to take a phone call.

What keeps these from being perfect? The documentation isn't entirely clear. I spent the better part of 20 minutes just trying to get the headset to sync to its transmitter, because the documentation wasn't clear (just hold the power button down beyond the initial tones). From my perspective, the documentation also seemed to be "backwards" regarding the wireless chat "sync indicator". Like a normal bluetooth headset, if it's flashing infrequently, it is synchronized. I had to experiment using a second 360 over LIVE just to figure this all out. However, once you get everything synchronized, things seem to work quite well thereafter without further intervention required.

I also haven't had much luck with balancing the mix of chat and game audio. No matter what settings I choose in the 360's dashboard settings in conjunction with various volume levels/controls on the headphones, I can't find a mix that works best for me. I typically end-up turning down game audio to compensate.

Overall, I'm pleased with the XP300s. However, I can't overlook the lack of an optical connection, the confusing documentation and syncing processes and indicators, and the chat/game-audio mix issues. They still aren't "perfect", but they hit enough of the mark for me that they are my new favorite gaming headphones.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

I upgraded to this Turtle Beach Ear Force XP300 from a pair of MW3 Ear Force Bravos, so most of my thoughts and comparisons are from my experience with those.

Set up:

I found these just as simple as other models of Turtle Beach headsets. I set mine up with a PS3, and just as with previous models, you use an included RCA splitter cable, transmitter (XP300 dual-band) and a USB charging cable. To chat via Bluetooth on the PS3, you sync it by going through your PS3 main menu in Settings -> Accessory Settings -> Manage Bluetooth Devices. Start the system scanning for this new headset then press and hold down the Bluetooth button on your headset at the same time. It will beep and the two will be paired. You then need to select this headset in your PS3 Bluetooth menu to start using it. If prompted for a code it's "0000". For the xBox, there is an included XBA Bluetooth adapter that connects directly to the controller to set up Bluetooth chat.

You can also connect music players like MP3 players, iPods and such via a 3.5mm cable (not included) to the transmitter and listen you your music at the same time as hearing everything going on in game and in chat. You can also sync the Bluetooth in this headset with your cell phone (if it has Bluetooth) and use it to answer incoming calls. You just press the Bluetooth button once to answer it and again to end the call. You can also make outgoing calls if need be, however unless you're using voice dialing, you will still be using the phone itself to dial the number.

Pros:

Pretty simple and clear directions in the included handbook. Maybe a little better outlined than in previous versions. An issue in the past for some people during initial set up was the mixing up of the two USB cables, one that transmits sound, the other for charging the headset. Looking similar, if they were hooked up wrong, headsets would still charge but no sound could be heard. To fix this they have made the USB cable that transmits the sound permanently attached to the back of the transmitter, with only the USB power/charging cable detachable. This is bound to save time for people, if nothing else the customer service people who walk customers through troubleshooting set up.

The mic on the headset is nice. Extremely maneuverable and a good length so you don't have it too close to your mouth. It picks up sound very well, so if you have stuff going on in the next room, it's likely those you're talking to will hear it faintly.

The ability to attach a music player via 3.5mm cable is great, You can listen to your music and talk to people in game without forcing everyone else to listen to your music too. I have hooked mine up with my tablet (Kindle Fire), an iPod touch and an iPod shuffle, they all work great. Just plug in and push play on your player and you have your music.

Several pre-set settings for sound.

With the Tone button you get:

1) Flat

2) Bass Boost

3) Treble Boost

4) Bass and Treble Boost

With the Sound Field button you get:

1) Normal

2) Narrow

3) Wide

These setting are definitely needed for different games. I've been listening to the game play through this headset with games like MW3, Heavy Rain, inFamous 2, GTA IV and Uncharted 3. Each game needs a totally different set up to get the best sound. With games like Heavy Rain where it's often very quiet with subtle background sounds and talking, it needs a completely different configuration then games like Modern Warfare 3. So before deciding if you like these, be sure to try out all the different sound settings, since with some games the wrong setting can make the game sound bad.

The cushioning on the headset is ample. It has a very wide band over the head with lots of cushioning, so no problem with comfort there. The ear pads are also very plush, which help keep out outside sounds when wearing them. They keep out sound so well that the only way I hear things going on around me is if they are being picked up by the mic.

To save battery this headset also automatically shuts off after approx 5 minutes of not being used. The battery lasts a good amount time time at about 15 hours per charge.

Cons:

Just a few minor ones.

When playing music with an MP3 player/iPod by attaching it to the transmitter, the music quality is not quite as good as headphones hooked directly into a player. This probably has more to do with the sound pre-sets being optimized for game sounds instead of regular music. However, you do still get decent sound for listening to your songs while playing.

No included 3.5mm cable for use with the auxiliary input. While this isn't necessary for use during game play or for chat, it is needed to listen to music through the transmitter. With a great feature like this and at these prices, it would have been good to have this added in as one of the included cables. If you want to buy one, you're going to need something like this Mediabridge 3.5mm Male To 3.5mm Male Stereo Audio Cable to play music through your headset.

Conclusion:

Large and comfortable headset with easy to navigate buttons, it takes no time at all to adjust the sound to what works best for the type of game/movie/music/chat you're hearing. Two separate volume settings (one for chat, the other for game volume) make adjusting the settings during game play extremely easy, so you don't miss a second of what's going on. This Turtle Beach Ear Force XP300 headset is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the wireless headset market.

This headset is very flawed. I would love to blame it on the fact that maybe I just got a bad set it happens. But I have now returned TWO of these same model. My first set I had for one month and one night the chat stopped working, I could hear others but they couldn't hear me. It also had many problems with wireless chat disconnecting randomly. It was very easy to put it back on by pressing the button on the puck that connects to the controller, but this would happen sometimes over 5 times in one gaming session. Annoying to say the least when you get cut of in mid-sentence. With the second set, the chat disconnected even more frequently and also would come completely unsynched from the transmitter often. After a week it wouldnt even synch at all to the transmitter and was completely dead (even when charging). I've returned both sets and am considering going with a different brand. I like the idea of wireless chat but I refuse to spend more on the XP400's or XP500's just to have the same problems. Very dissapointed in Turtle Beach after this experience.

Honest reviews on Turtle Beach Ear Force XP300 Wireless Gaming Headset - Xbox 360

Pros:

-Very comfortable headset. The fabric mesh is so cushioned and the headband adjustments fit 99% of all heads

-High quality sound. Something that Turtle Beach has always came through in

-Very customizable. You are able to adjust any sound cues possible, as well as how far you want the sound-field

-Many different features. Pick up phone calls with the headset while gaming (dual pairing bluetooth).

You can use the headset with Skype as well. An auxiliary input lets you connect an iPod Touch or any mp3 player to listen to music while gaming

-No interference. New 5GHZ WiFi base station gives you no interference at all

-Fully wireless. The new XBA allows you to chat wirelessly, making this headset capable of using no wires at all

Cons:

-Wish the price would be dropped a bit :(

-At first the headset does not feel the most comfortable, but you will get used to it quickly

Final Verdict:

The Turtle Beach XP300 Headset is definitely worth your money, but it will cut your savings pretty low. The features alone make this headset worth every penny. Having a wireless headset makes it so much simpler to game, not worrying if you'll trip over them. It provides a much cleaner setup. I would recommend anyone to purchase this headset who is looking for a durable, light, comfortable, great sounding, feature packed headset for their Xbox 360 or PS3.

I give this headset a 9.4 out of 10

I bought this headset to replace my Turtle Beach X12Turtle Beach EarForce X12 Headset which had finally gone out on me after a little over a year of use. And to be fair, people had accidently stepped on it a few times and that headset was used for 10 hour gaming sessions sometimes so in all circumstances it help up well. But anyway, for the XP300, I've had it for almsot 2 months now and so far its been working great with just a few minor propblems but first I'll list the pros.

The first good thing about this headset compared to the X12 is obivoulsy is that its wireless which was a god send 'cuz i cant tell you how many times ive tripped over the cords from that X12. Another good thing is that the battery surprisingy lasts for a good while, about 6-8 depending on wether or not I use the mic. It also still works when your charging it too so you dont have to wait for it to recharge. The next good thing is that its easy to set up, just hook up the cables, link up the bluetooth in the headset to the bluetooth adapter and your pretty much golden, its that simple. Another big pro for this one compared to the X12 is that lowering the chat volume actually lowers it this time, unlike the X12. And this one even changes the tone of the sound in the headset.

Now as for the cons, I have a few problems that aren't major but annoying. The first is that the description said I could hook up my phone to the headset via bluetooth to answer calls and talk trough the headset. Well i tried that and my phone wont seem to connect at all to it, though i suspect it has something to do with my phone since i've researched this online and havent really found a lot of other people having this problem. The last problem I have with this headset is that sometimes the bluetooth adapter on the controller disconnets from the headset and I have to re connect. But due to it like only taking 5-10 seconds to reconnect it, its that that big of a issue.

This one right here is neutral since this headset was my first wireless headset of any kind so I can't really judge this category very well. But I found the range on this not to terribly long, I would go to the kitchen to get a drink which is only like 20-25 feet at the most from my room which I game and sometimes the game audio cuts out. The chat audio and mic still come in clear but not the game audio. Like i said i dont know wether this is good, average, or bad range on a wireless headset so I cant say wether this part is a pro or con.

Overall I think this headset is a pretty good upgrade from the X12, though if you want a little more, get the XP500 not the 400. The XP400 is identical to the 300. the only difference is that the 400 has a dolby sound processor. Thats it. So if you want more get the XP500. But anyway ya, espically since they lowered the price here on amazon down to $100 from the $170 its usally at because of the new Xbox One which doesnt work with these headset, its a good deal on this headset if you plan to keep playing on your 360 for at least the next 6 months. So my answer is buy this headset

I must preface this review by stating that I have been a fan of the NCAA Football series since it was "Bill Walsh Football". I have become accustomed to each year only having a few updates and modest improvements and those have been enough to satisfy my needs as a college football enthusiast.

THIS LATEST INSTALLMENT LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED.

I play this game as follows: 50% of the time is spent in dynasty mode, 25% is spent playing against friends, 25% is spent playing online. With that said, dynasty mode is the mode that I obviously really focus on. I was alarmed to find out as soon as I booted up dynasty mode that it starts soliciting you to buy "add ons" that you would think would be standard. You have to pay an additional $2.50 per add-on ($12.50 for the total dynasty add-on package) -via the PSN store to have things such as a second pipeline state, a recruiting advisor etc.

EA could have greatly improved dynasty mode this year by releasing these new options as standard features instead of gouging for more $$$.

It's not that the add-ons are expensive, but its that they are unwarranted and it is a matter of principle. I can honestly say that this will very likely be the last time I purchase a release from the NCAA Football series.

EA Sports has finally made a challenging football game. Playing the CPU on Heisman mode is like playing last year's Madden on Your Level. The game now adapts to the way you play just like a real (good) coach does. You can't run that option over and over, you will get stuffed!

In addition to making CPU play harder and more realistic, there is a new mode called Season Showdown where you chose your favorite team and everything you do on and offline gets tallied toward an end of the season winner. In Season Showdown mode, you get points based on many categories including Skill (making certain plays yourself), Strategy (Choosing the upcoming play type while on defense and successfully stopping it), and Sportsmanship ( where good sports that don't go for it on 4th get points and those that do or run up the score get them taken away). There is also an online trivia component where you go to the EA Sports website and answer 10 trivia questions each week for points. During the season, each week you can play your team's game online against players from the other team to get points. You get points whether you win or lose, but you get more for winning. Season Showdown is a great way to show support for your favorite team and it also gives a rating so when you are in a lobby you can tell if someone who is participating in Season Showdown will go for it every 4th or not and if they know how to stop plays by looking at their Strategy rating.

Teambuilder is another new mode where you can go to the EA Sports website and create your own school and design the uniforms, stadium and player names and attributes and then download it into the game. And you can use your Teambuilder teams in online dynasties, which is pretty cool.

Online dynasties are better, you can now create a custom team conference by swapping your members teams with teams in an existing conference. For example you can swap all the Big 12 teams with all 12 of your dynasty member's teams. This makes it easier for scheduling user vs user games. They also fixed last year's bug where you talked a player into staying (from going to the NFL draft or transferring to another school) they and they still left. The recruiting process is more involved now, you can talk down other schools the recruit is interested ins attributes and you have a recruiting adviser that tells you when someone is ready to sign, is interested in your school or gets a call from a mom who tells some of a recruit's interests.

The other new addition is Road To Glory, which has been in the game before but is vamped up with a video segment on your player after winning games that is hosted by Erin Andrews, who discusses your play during the game with Herbstriet and shows auto saved highlights from the game. Look for a similar video show presentation in Madden NFL 10 which will have a video show for the online leagues showing highlights from members of the leagues teams each week.

PROS

Season Showdown It has brought a new sense of competition to the game, where everything you do helps your favorite school in the rankings.

Adaptive CPU Play You have to really be on your toes to win against the CPU on Heisman mode now. All American mode is as hard as Heisman in NCAA Football 09.

Road to Glory Your player is now ranked so you can see how others playing on your favorite team are doing. Plus you get to see Erin Andrews. lol.

Family Mode This is another adaptation from Madden, which has an easy mode. Now, you can play a tough game against grandma. Family mode is a very simplified set of controls where even your sister can make a TD pass. So now, just about anyone can play and be good at it.

PS3 Trophies For the first time you get trophies for your game play.

Tweaks to Graphics Close ups are more polished, although most of the graphics are the same. Marching bands are now shown pre game and they have added additional uniform settings and TD animations (My team, USF, can now do the horns hand sign after TDs)

Players Are More Realistic No More sub 4.3 40 yard dash players. Speed is not as much a factor as ability to catching or running through a tackle.

Ability to Tweak Team Play Now you can tweak how your D and O play on different aspects such as blocking or tackling, with choices being Aggressive, Normal, And Conservative.

Cons

EA has now gone the money route. Additional items, like "Dynasty Accelerators" where you get things like an extra pipeline state in Dynasty Mode you have to play for, WITH REAL MONEY! You want to be a 5 star high school recruit in Road To Glory? You can pay for it now, 2 bucks. If you lost your manual for the game, you won't be able to download your Teambuilder team to the game without paying for it. And if you want to download other teams you have to pay for each team. Its not quite as bad as they have done with Tiger Woods Golf, but look for more of it in future additions depending on how successful they are this year.

Adaptive CPU Play I know, I said it was a Pro, but its both. I am seeing players struggling in Dynasties that are set at Heisman mode, good players. When someone is ranked high against other players (top 1000) plays a game against the cpu in Heisman mode with Penn St and loses to Akron, you know something is wrong. Luckily, the CPU sliders are still included in this addition. Sliders can be adjusted to so that CPU and User play can be adjusted, like increase the likelihood your receiver will catch balls or your QB will throw more accurately.

Graphics and Presentation While I know that they have worked more on game play and features this past edition, it would be nice to see a better presentation. Not all the mascots are in 2010 yet, there are more in the PS2 version. Many of the lines of the commentators are the same they have used for several versions now. The graphics are pretty much the same, although you get a glimpse of some better graphics during the brief close ups after plays.

Putting your D on Aggressive Stripping the Ball results on face mask penalties on just about every play. Its pretty much useless.

The video is pretty repetitive in Road To Glory. Heck Erin doesn't even have a wardrobe change. It would be nice to see her change wardrobe, and spice up the video some.

Overall, great improvements to last year's game. Much of this is because Tiberon, who makes the game for EA Sports, let seasoned NCAA gamers have a day with the game early enough in development to get input and use it to change and tweak the game before it was shipped. They also did this to Madden this year.

UPDATE: The more I play Madden, the less I like NCAA 10. Why? On the harder settings its like work. And conversely, Madden is pretty fun, even when you are losing. On the harder settings in NCAA 10, one mistake can cost you the game. The game presentation is boring and rather dull compared to Madden. Even though I am #1 for my school in Season Showdown, I still am considering selling my copy. Hopefully next year EA Sports will take the things that work in NCAA 10 and Madden separately and include them in both of next year's offering.

I purchased each game in the series for many years. Not much has really changed in the last few years, so I didn't expect too much from this one either. The gameplay is imporved from last year dramatically. The CPU is more intelligent and seems to react to what you are doing better (such as coverage, play calling, audibles, etc). However there are time when you really wonder (such as when the CPU calls a quarter defense when you are in the goal line formation running the clock down). The graphics are imporved, however they are not as polished as they should be for a next gen game (at times they are SLOW). The plays themselves are a copy from last year, no change (could be negative or positive).

I mostly play the dynasty mode and that is where my main grips are. In order to be really competative in a online (or just a normal dynasty unless you choose the easiest settings or re-sim everything 20 million times to get perfection) you really are going to feel the need to buy those dynasty add on's. And those are where most of the controversies are. You just spent a ton of money to buy the game and now you have to go and fork over about a quarter of another ton to get all of the dynasty add ons. Once you get them, you come to realize many of them are just junk and do nothing. Why in the world do I care about an add on that gives me the time I spent with a recruit in a week? However the recruiting advisor however, does come in handy.

For EA Sports greed is the sole reason I think this game deserves a two star rating. Madden follows this 'charge more for add on's', as well as many of the other EA Sports franchises. If you purchase the game anyway, at least give EA Sports two cents about the extra money!!!

Honest reviews on NCAA Football 10 - Playstation 3

In the age of technology in which we currently live, it's impossible to fathom how a next generation football game takes a step back from '09 to '10. In last year's version, if you fielded a good team, you could manipulate the audibles and the defense would react the same way every time. If you needed 15 yards, you could get 20. It got to the point where I would stop calling certain plays in the playbook because it was guaranteed to work every time. That has been fixed this year but for several reasons, this game takes two steps back.

NCAA Football 2010 ushered in some unforgivable mistakes that sink this game all the way to complete mediocrity, such as fumbles when the other team needs the ball back, facemask penalties when they need a first down, and a completely idiotic camera angle which happens when you accidentally click the L3 button when trying to rush the quarterback (which happens to be the same button that moves your defensemen). Once you click the button, if you don't click it again in time you end up off sides because down causes your player to move up and up causes the player to move down and if you're trying to blitz the quarterback, you're trying to figure this out before he snaps the ball because you're already off sides. This happens to me about ten times a game, about half of which wind up in a penalty. I'm forced to play the other half from the idiotic camera view which is so worthless that I don't even play the down.

The worst of these miscues is easily the facemask. I turned the facemask penalty slider as low as it would go and I still get flagged for it 4-8 times every game, usually on third and 10+ so the other team can get a first down. The computer NEVER gets flagged for facemask, or any other penalties for that matter. Penalties only apply to the user and not the AI. This is unacceptable. Also, if you try and play conservatively with the lead, yeah, you fumble the ball and the defense recovers. I once had a 27 point lead in the 4th quarter when I fumbled the ball. The defense returned for a touchdown, kicked off, I fumbled the return, the computer scored on the next play, recovered an onside kick, threw a bomb for a touchdown, RECOVERED ANOTHER ONSIDE KICK, and slowly drove down the field and scored with barely any time left on the clock. I realize that EA needed to make this game more challenging, but there are better ways to do that than creating ways for the computer to cheat. A couple of other maddening issues worthy of mention include tipped passes and defensive AI. My tipped passes end up intercepted while the computer's float haphazardly into the hands of the intended receiver for a thirty yard gain. They intercept nearly every mistake I make while my defense will drop three balls thrown straight to them on the same drive. Also, the computer always makes defensive plays on the ball whereas you can try and swat or intercept the ball during the play and rarely does it ever work. I'm beginning to think that these "mistakes" are intentional so that consumers will break the disc in half in a fit of rage and go buy another. Seriously, how does this happen after twenty years of experience?

I learned my lesson with EA years ago. They no longer get any of my money. Every EA game I buy comes from Ebay or used from Amazon. I also wait until I can get them for less than $20 so that I'm not pissed when I get ripped off like this. Every year I read reviews just like this from people that continue to buy these mediocre games brand new. As long as EA is raking in billions of dollars in sales, they won't care about the quality of the product. If people would quit buying, then we may finally see a game with some quality effort put into it. Some competition would do the trick too, but EA owns the rights. Go figure.

I'm not going to write a long review of the game but I will say this: I own NCAAF09 as well and enjoyed it thoroughly (even though that game had major flaws as well). I think the real problem with '10 is the fact that EA decided to spend time improving the most unimportant features. What's more important - flashes in the crowd or decent AI? Seriously, Heisman mode is infuriating. First of all, EA doesn't seem to understand that simply increasing the amount of fumbles and interceptions in a game equals a better team. Also, simply sliding the speed bar of the opposing team to 100 is not realistic. "Heisman mode" should equal more completed passes, generally better skill, but not turbo mode. If you can deal with the annoying AI, then this may be the game for you. But until EA patches this game, I don't know if it's worth it.

This game was alright, which is why the 3 stars. I don't really have any problem with it but I just wasn't impressed. It's a lot like the first one. The weapons are cool but none any better than the other. I never did upgrade any of my guns because I didn't ever need to. Wielding 2 golden volcano guns is pretty cool looking but not very effective. I pretty much went through then entire game once with each brother. Not much of a difference. One goes up on the roof with his bow and the other stays on the grown with his twin 6-shooters. They both seem to be just as tough and just as stealthy. Didn't find much use for knifes and no matter what I found myself reverting to the lever-action rifle for most gun fights.

The story line is good even better if you played the first COJ. Controls are easy and enemies are kinda smart. The levels where you ride around doing jobs and hunting criminals are just a plain waste of time, I spend 2 hours on one level just to make $500 when the rifle I wanted cost $1200. It's just not worth it.

Graphics are good, sound is good.

Duels are just plain stupid; you have to be perfect to out-gun your opponent which usually took 3-4 times to get right. Just keep trying until you can shoot them all in the leg or lower body, which is all you ever have time to do.

Most of the "dynamic" features are just that, features they don't really add anything to the game play. Throwing knifes and dynamite is great but neither is necessary. The lasso is a waste of time and so are the shooting modes for both brothers. I never once used them for either brother, just wasn't necessary.

To sum it all up, the game is good, it's fun, it's got some amusing gimmicks but most of it is just fluff and not really very important to the actual game. Don't pay full price and don't expect anything too ground breaking.
