Toy Soldiers Review

Toy Soldiers
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

I got this for $2.49 and that price point will affect my review.

Toy soldiers is a tower defense game-except the player has the ability to man the towers. The variety of towers in the game isn't much. There are only 5 tower types, but you get the option to upgrade them 3 times as the game progresses. The player also has the option of commandeering extra units like planes, tanks and a sniper tower that can effect the outcome. There are enough enemy types to keep you busy and strategizing on what towers should be built.Boss fights are a bonus. The scenarios can get repetitive but overall a very good game for $2.49. 8/10.

Bought this on sale for 2.50$ and worth the cost. While this is a STEAM game it also has GFWL in it. However as of last patch the option to play without it has been added, however the game will not launch if your STEAM account is in offline mode, so you still must have internet at all times which is why I rated this game only 4 instead of 5.

It's a lot of fun for a tower defense game but it rightfully gets its 9.99 price for it's lack of content. It's a fun game to come back to when your bored.

I was big into Computer Games in the Past. They had great Story Telling Adventures. I bought this Game and Have not Played it hardly at All. I will enjoy it because it part of my Library. I would say it is a good game.

I played through the levels. the replay is just more enemy troops coming at you... I found it very hard to move the tanks around...then again they are wind up versions on WWI tanks...

As an arcade release, I was never interested in this game. Fighting games are not my forte. Once I saw that it was a full disc release, the collector in me wanted to add this to my wall. I am not a fan of fighting games because I suck at memorizing fight patterns, move lists, and combos. That said, this game is a fun addition to my collection. The graphics and physics are solid. This is a fun game to bust out with a few people over as you can turn in games quickly and it's different. Given the fact that it's cheap, it's even better. Definately worth the

My daughter loves this game, so she says, I think only because "Victorious" is her favorite show. But the game seem to lack energy and not challenging enough. May work for a lot younger kids. My daughter is 5 1/2 and she finds it very easy. She loves to sing so her favorite is the Karaoke.

If your goal is to give your child a birthday present that leaves her sobbing in frustration, buy her this game. The controls for the game SUCK. As you're selecting an option, you swipe your arm across your body. Well, most of the time it changes what you've selected right as you select it,and then you're forced to re-play a part of the game you've just done, because it has no "back" option once you've selected something. Nearly impossible for kids to navigate on their own, so you end up doing it for them. Also sometimes it just flips around wildly highlighting options for no apparent reason, even when you're holding perfectly still. Damn game is apparently possessed. We love the TV show but the game is impossible to play. My daughter mainly wants to dress up Tori, but in order to do costume changes you have to unlock all the options and guess what is too difficult for a seven year old to unlock? Oh, that's right. Game is practically worthless for kids, but if you're an adult fan of the show and a professional singer/dancer, then you might have fun with this game.

Best Deals for Victorious: Time to Shine - Xbox 360

Bascially the game has no storyline or anything. You dance, sing, play air guitar, and act out certain movements to the songs all played in the show. Everything's repetitive....they just change the songs.

Sing: You just stand there and sing and you can dance (your little avatar person will move with you), but for the most part it's boring.

Dance: The dancing routines are actually good! But there's no practicing them; you just pretty much go with the flow and some moves can actually be hard.

Guitar: You mimic (with air guitar) what the person is doing with their guitar. So in another way like the dancing.

Acting: You just do poses with your body....For ex., Sikowitz (right name?) will tell you to act like a tea pot. So you do. And so on.

You can make a "music video" which is just doing all of this together (singing, dancing, air guitar, and acting) but you can't even watch the video afterwards. So it's kind of pointless.

Overall the game is ok. The graphics look cool and actually look like the students! The voices are actually their voices. You can make your own person and unlock more clothes as you go on, but truthfully I think you will only enjoy this if you like the songs. And since no dance game like Just Dance, Dance Central, etc have Victorious songs I like this game. The music is the only thing keeping me from returning it.

The kids are having a lot of fun with this one. The graffics are terrific and it's very active. Two can play at the same time which makes it even more fun.

This cheap piece of garbage was not only an unwatchable ghosty mess, the audio component had an irritating static hum. Avoid this piece of trash at all costs. Complete waste of time.

I already own the official Microsoft VGA cable, and when we added two more Xbox 360s to the family over Christmas I knew I needed an extra VGA cable to my son's room. I placed the order before Christmas, so that I would have everything I needed. I tried to save money by not buying the official Microsoft cable and that was a mistake. The images are blurry... and there is definite ghosting on all of the letters. Maybe the people who are satisfied with this cable got lucky, or maybe they don't know what they are missing. There is a night and day difference between this and the official cable.

I bought this because i wanted to hook up my 360 to my computer monitor. As soon as I started up my xbox after hooking it up i noticed horrible ghosting, that made everything look blurry and ugly. Just pay the higher price for the official microsoft vga cable this may be cheaper but you get what you pay for.

Do not be discouraged by other reviews, this cable gets the job done quite well. Furthermore, the fact that it includes a 3.5 mm to RCA adaptor makes it a great choice for connecting using stereo speakers. For the price, this combo simply cannot be beat! While I have noticed minimal ghosting on occasion, it is hardly visible and goes away with game play or other activity.

I just purchased the game and I absolutely love the game. The graphics like all x-box games look like your watching a live match it looks realistic and plays realistic. The game is fun, fast, but very hard too control if you are new to the snowboarding genre. In my opinion the game has a steep learning curve. this is definitely 5 stars

This is not a game so much as an excercise in addiction control and you will fail! The need to play this tugs at you every few minutes when your XBox is turned off. This is by far the best XBox launch title other than the magnificent Halo. But the difference between the two is that Amped has a tremendous amount of replay. Graphically this title go's far beyond anything else ever made. It's also one of the first XBox titles to take advantage of the built in Hard Drive by storing all the environmental data such as Trees and backgrounds. So there will be literally no popup or distance fogging commonly used to improve frame rates. You can literally see forever particularly on the huge mountains such as the Altibahn. There are so many different levels of bump mapping and textures on the snow alone it makes your head spin. There is plowed snow, Poweder, lined, Ice, packed, you name it.

Gameplay is where it's at though. This is the way Snowboarding should be. Total freestyle. Not some SSX clone running down unreal tracks and knocking others down along the way. This is all about choosing your own line, and pulling incredible moves.

Do yourself a favor, if you own the XBox, buy this now. This truly shows why the Xbox is the most powerfull console created.

Best Deals for Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding

I've owned Amped for four weeks (over 60 hours of play), and I rented SSX Tricky for five days (over 20 hours of play). I'm a skier, not a boarder, and I love Amped. SSX Tricky has its good points too, but with that game the characters break dance on their boards and can't wander off the given path. In Amped the boarder is firmly attached to his bindings, and behaves more realistically. If you want a racing game with cartoon-like characters, go for SSX Tricky. If you want a fun single-player game get Amped. One funny addition in Amped is the taunts from the other boarders when you bite a trick: 'You dropped your pocket!'

Pros:

Fun! High replay value. Either go for high scoring tricks, or wander the mountain looking for snowmen to run over. Or ride the entire length of a ski lift cable.

More realistic physics than SSX Tricky (OK, so no one can jump 50 feet high), but you can stop anywhere on the mountain, and pick your own path down the mountain.

Beautiful graphics: whisps of snow, shadows, sparkling snow, hard ice

Customize the background music to CD's you rip to the XBox hard drive

Cons:

No simultaneous multi-player: you take turns.

No time challenges, no gate racing

Tough learning curve if you have Tony Hawk trick habits

Honest reviews on Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding

Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding is a Valium-fueled take on snowboarding. You're free to do what you want, when you feel like it, and while you're under stress in the middle of a mission. The overall experience is oddly relaxing, especially early in the game when there's no real pressure to beat every goal in order to unlock new levels. Just as in games like Tony Hawk, the only frustration comes in the repeating levels to get a specific medal but even then, you can always restart in a flash.

Match that with the open air feel of the levels, the breathtaking coolness of sliding through powder, and the breezy sound effects and in-game chatter, and you've got yourself the gaming equivalent of sitting in the hot tub after a long day on the slopes. Amped is a new way to look at snowboarding, and it's fun and large enough to keep you interested for hours and hours. Sure, there are some problems with the way the game controls, but the overall package is well designed, and most of all, totally charming. Amped manages to be simultaneously epic and down-home at the same time, thanks to the mixture of cool presentation, easy to navigate goal structure, and time-free boarding on giant mountains. You won't sweat while playing a game of Amped but then again, we're talking about snow, aren't we?

I purchased this game after getting Halo, DoA3, and Proj. Gotham. Got a gift-certificate for the b-day and Amped seemed like the only cool loking title other than the football and nascar, which I dont get into those two types of games. When I get it home Im expecting to be able to fly right through this like another Tony Hawk title, but no...oh no, crash after crash after crash! I could hardly get down the first section of the mountain. I was so used to playing T.Hawk and SSX that it was strange switching to the new game, felt like the switch from Mat Hoffmans BMX to Dave Miras BMX 2. All the while that Im tumbling down the mountain trying to figure out the controls, all of the camera men and even the snowmen are making fun of me! It was making me a little crazy. So with ease, in the sometimes odd menu system, I turn off the camera man voiceovers and turned on some of my own music from the hard-drive. After much tinkering with this beautiful looking game, I was getting the hang of it. I soon felt like I was really snowboarding and I was getting the idea behind Amped, it is a snowboard simulator made with fun and style in mind. Now I am pulling off runs worthy of saving the replay to show friends later. The structure of the game is great, you want to be a pro so you have to work your way up. Get sponsors for new clothes, boards, and gear. Unlock then new mountains as you go along and new sections of each mountain. The levels are great and the sense of speed is really there. This game is definately fun and I highly recommend it to fans of the sport. If you just want something easy to get the hang of stick with SSX: Tricky.

Playseats Classic Gaming Seat

Welp, have gotten the Gaming Seat home and assembled and it looks GREAT and it definitely does what it's supposed to. To be honest, it's a nice addition to my racing setup. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it just doesn't live up to it's steep price tag. For the money, it should just have a more rigid, higher density frame. Every time I get up from the chair, the metal arm that mounts the foot pedals to the seat flexes and knocks stuff over. Luckily I got it on sale for a mere $199, I seriously wouldn't recommend buying it for any more than that.

I'd been looking for a solution for playing Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue because sitting on the couch with the wheel clamped to my coffee table wasn't that comfortable.

When I found that there were gaming cockpits available, I couldn't resist, and ordered this one. However, I was worried because I had read that the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel wasn't compatible because the pedals were too long to fit on the platform on this seat.

Once I got the seat, it looked like all that was needed was a spacer between the pedal platform and the pedals to make it work.

A piece of 1x12 lumber cut to the length of the Playseat foot pedal mount provides the separation needed for the G25 pedals to fit.

How the spacer is mounted is up to you. I chose to drill holes in the board to line up with the screw holes in the pedal set (which take M6 machine bolts). Some lag bolts through the board and the steel pedal plate take care of holding the board to the playseat plate. A single set of screws through everything would also work. A paper trace of the pedal set base works great as a drilling template for the pedal mounting screws.

After the spacer is added, the pedals fit perfectly. And--you don't have the annoying steering bar between your legs like you do in the Playseat evolution.

If you're at all handy, and can fashion a ~1" spacer for the pedal set--this seat will work for you.

There is one more thing--like the Evolution, the seat of the Classic folds for easier storage.

In summary, this item was a great addition to my car racing experience. I recommend it highly.

22 year old, just out of college

I am using the seat with the GT Force Feedback Wheel by Logitech for the PS3. I am a GT addict and have used the setup for F1 Championship as well. Must haves if you are really into the racing sim genre.

The actual seat is great, stable and comfortable. The frame on the other hand needs work. Out of the box the foot pedal and steering wheel mount wobble quite a bit, even when tightened down with the supplied adjustment knobs. The materials used seem to be quality, but the petite size of the frame's support columns give the chair a "dainty" novelty feel. If you are investing a hundred plus dollars into a product, I expect a little bit more. Overall, I would make this purchase again, just be prepared to perform a little surgery on yours.

I own a PS3 and the new Logitech GT wheel and the classic does a fine job. If you're hard-core and use the Logitech G25, you may want to spend extra for the Evolution but for console gamers, this should work just fine. It's not rock steady but that has not impacted my driving enjoyment.

When I recieved the gamechair I found out a few flaws that I wish I would have known in advance. I can take care of them but its going to take modification that I feel shouldnt be needed in the first place.

1. This chair doesnt fit the G25 racing wheel's foot pedals from logitech. The base is to short and I will have to add another suppport board underneath to stabilize it.

2.The wheel height adjustment doesnt go "down" very far and feels like its to high. But this might be just me and my preferences. Still I am 6' and feel it should be able to lower more for shorter people.

3. The steering column feels unstable. I think there should be more support for a steering wheel that is going to be putting up with alot of side forces.

Overall its not a bad gaming chair but I certainly would of returned it if I had to pay the full price($300). But since it was 33% off I will just modify it to my preferences.

If you've ever played San Andreas then your going to love this, this game is not boring and there's alot to do, lots of off road vehicles for off-roading and lots of customization options for your cars.

Overall its a HUGE improvement over Grand Theft Auto IV, its brighter and more colorful, the people come to life in the game and better car handling, for people who care about graphics its a big improvement over IV but I'd like to point out that if you choose a game by its graphics then your never going to enjoy good games and being picky over graphics ruins the experience (but like I said they're great in this game).

No the game does NOT freeze, sadly I played it straight for over 10 hours without realizing it and it never froze nor did I experience any bugs at all, it played flawlessly, so I really don't know what these people are talking about it being buggy, if it doesn't freeze within that amount of time then I think its pretty obvious its not going to and maybe they are having problems with their Xbox and not the game.

The one thing that I do hate in this game is the crashes aren't as realistic is they are in IV, its similar when crashing in Saints Row, but I didn't pay $60 just so I could experience good crashes, I got it for free roaming, and after playing it for awhile you really don't even notice the cheesy crashes anymore, during gameplay you may notice things you don't like and an example of that would be the crashes, or maybe you don't like the way the planes and helicopters handle because of the wind blowing against it (the flying is realistic and helicopters are difficult to handle, which I like.. it'll make it harder for little kids to shoot me on multiplayer when they're in a chopper), but in my opinion this is the best Grand Theft Auto to date and I would strongly suggest you don't pass on this game because its worth it.

***THIS GAME IS RATED MATURE!!!***: so parents if you don't think your kids aren't mature enough to handle this game then DONT buy it for them, I'm sick of seeing parents complaining and the news making Grand Theft Auto games out to be a game that makes kids do bad things when in the first place the parents shouldn't even buy young kids a game that clearly says 17+ on the back and you have to be 17 and up to buy it, so please don't rate games badly based on your ignorance.

And if you get this game and notice that the online multilayer isn't up yet don't freak, it says its going to be up 2 weeks from this past 17th (GTA V release date)

The mission structure has been improved in GTA V with ample check-pointing. That's point number one. As highly rated as GTA IV was, even at the time I felt frustrated by constantly starting failed missions all the way from the top. Well, this time Rockstar has changed that and for that one change alone the game is much more enjoyable.

Everything else is as you would expect a GTA game to bejacking vehicles and cruising the open world as you see fit. The missions range from utterly awesome (the heists) all the way down to mundane races against an exercise-crazed character.

Speaking of crazythat pretty much includes every single character in GTA. No one is "normal" in this game. But that's the stylea realistic world inhabited by some parallel world of people whose motivations, personalities, and actions are blown up and exaggerated. By real-world standards, every character in the game would be diagnosed a psychopath. In GTA V, psycho-path is defined by Trevor Phillips, so anything less than Trevor-crazy seems normal.

But the game knows how to have fun and not take itself too seriously. GTA V would turn into a really dark drama (a crazy one)without the absurdity and comedy written in to the script. Instead, amidst the dark deeds that happen in GTA V, the whole experience feels light. Even the game world is bright, with Los Santos bathed in beatiful sunlight almost all the time during daylight hours. It rarely rains. And at the moon even manages to light up the night.

And that notorious torture scene? Meh, really not as bad as you think. I'm sure Rockstar knew what they were doing when they put that in the final product. You can't release a huge game like this without putting something controversal in it. You need that for publicity and it scores you points (usually) with your hardcore fans for staying on the edge and pushing boundaries. In the end, my opinion of this particular scene is that it is a bit corny (In keeping with the "light" feel of the game as I described). The person being tortured makes some blatant statements regarding a certain political topic and all comes off as being really goofy. I think that was the intention.

The characters are great, the voice acting is well done, and the writing to me is outstanding. The only thing that gets tiresome is driving. At some point you just want to fast travel mission to mission and the cab just isn't cutting it for me. I can only imagine the next GTA will implement a better fast travel system. Apart from that, I'm never for want of weapons and ammunition and money is plentiful. Good. Focus is stricly on the missions, story progression, and enjoying the world of Los Santos.

One of my favorite games of the year.

Meh. I had fun playing it but once the story was done I had no desire to keep playing. Online doesn't Appeal to me and I can't be bothered to locate 1000000 alien ship parts and stunt jump locations.

Honest reviews on Grand Theft Auto V - Xbox 360

Although I cannot review this game in its entirety, I can still tell you about some of the things ive noticed right away. I have not finished the game yet, but I am a good deal into it.

Before you even put in the playable disk you must install the first disk. Yes there are two disks, but do not install the second! (As in load it to your hard drive) Rockstar made an announcement about this, i just wanted to warn everyone aswell.

First off, as most gta games have been, you must complete a short mission before you can do whatever you like. No spoilers there.

Once you do get to free roam, it is amazing. The map is beautiful, and there is so much to do. This game is so far, amazing!

There was alot of debate about the driving engine in this game, I find it to be much better than gta 4.

Pros:

-Amazing game

-Beautiful map

-Tons of stuff to do

-Driving is awesome

Cons:

-You can say goodbye to your social life for a while!

-But on a serious note, there is no app for android to customize cars etc.

-Also there are some bugs. (Cars randomly flipping over, wrong clothes on character)

-no big glitches, but small things that make it not perfect.

Overall, Just buy it already! You're missing out!!

Update September 18th 2013.

-Loading (Or lack of loading) is flawless! You transition from cutscene to playing soo smoothly.

-The missions are extremely fun and have great variety!

-Ive played for about 8 hours (Focusing on missions) and im only 20% into the total missions.

-Switching weapons takes time to get used to, but is a great system overall

-Ive never been more into a story in a video game before!

Well if there was any doubt that the PS3 would be able to hit a homerun and kick start the console those fears can be laid to rest as Insomniac delivers one of the finest games to grace any console.

Ratchet and Clank Future: TOD will go down as one of those games that changed the landscape for platform games. Why? Well for one if you have ever had the dream of wanting to actually play a Pixar movie this is as close as you're going to get. The graphics are nothing short of amazing and truly shows off the real potential of what the PS3 is capable of producing. If you have an HDTV set that can handle 720p or higher you are in for a real treat as your TV is going to be bursting with smooth frame rates, tons of characters on screen and loads of beautiful colors. It's just total eye candy at every single turn. You will be blown away.

The game play is smooth as butter too. Smashing enemies and blowing things up is a real joy in this game and the action never lets up, not for a bit. The game has a pace to keep even the most hardcore gamer on their toes moving faster then a Lombax with his tail on fire it just keeps the adrenaline junky satisfied. You will not get bored playing this game.

Humor wise this is one of those rare games will you be laughing out loud to. This is like I stated above playing a Pixar movie. Not only for the graphics but the actual content of voice acting and story line. It's just fun all the way around.

One thing I wanted to point out that had me smiling from ear to ear was the sound. WOW! If you have a 7.1 system you will be blown away by the uncompressed 7.1 PCM that this game delivers. This is what your home theater system was bought for and it really shines in this game. Totally immersing and very impressive down to the last bolt pinging across the room in glorious 7.1!

In closing this is without a doubt a must have game. This is the type of game that can and will sell systems. PS3 owners can breathe a sigh of relief that all the promise of the great next gen games that were coming for the PS3 have finally started to arrive and Ratchet and Clank is a benchmark of excellence that will be leading the way into the holiday season.

Enjoy!

I have always been a little slow on getting into platformers. Usually my intrest wains after a few hours. As beautiful as this game is I was thinking I would fall into the same trap. So I decided to give it an hour. I couldn't put the controller down. The problem became so bad that I couldn't get up. Yes it is that addictive.

What makes this game a masterpiece is not just the beautiful graphics or the exciting storyline. The fun characters keep it going but what really impresses me is the diversity of each level. I have played this game for over six hours and each level looks completly different from the next. From being in the asteroid belt to going to a destroyed city and then travelling thru a prehistoric land.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction should be on everyones buy list. This is what gaming is all about. For children or adults this game doesn't discriminate. Never overlly difficult and not to simple. This game does it well on all levels.

This is arguably best platformer I have ever played. This game really captures the feel of a pixar movie and throws in great gameplay. If you have a PS3, you owe it to yourself to buy this game. If you do not have a PS3, well you're just crazy ;) this machine is pure class.

This is the best looking game 'til date on any platform. I literately just stop playing and admire the beautiful environment.

Pros

+ Best graphics this generation so far. This is Pixar quality people!

+ Gameplay is very well done.

+ Very fun to play

+ Crazy weapons that will have you trying different things out for days. Groovitron will rock you!

+ Good Lasting Appeal. Like all Rachet and Clank games this one will give you alot of mini games and reruns to keep you busy.

+ 12-15 hrs of regular game without counting the extras.

Cons:

If your played the previous games, it may not seem as original...

Yeah I really have to reach to come out with a negative, sorry there just isnt much wrong with this game.

Don't believe me? How about the critics?

100/100 GamePro

An amazing PS3 game that fully leverages the power of the console. It sets the bar high for not only the series but for all PS3 games to come. It is, without a doubt, reason enough to buy the system.

100/100 GameTap

It's rare that a game critic feels the way I do about this game, but in all honesty, I find it really difficult to find something that's not to like. The controls feel great. The graphics look great. The score sounds great. The weapon selection alone make me want to play the game over and over again, just to test out all the cool offered.

95/100 PSM Magazine

Combines absolutely jaw-dropping graphics with familiar platforming/shooting mechanics and genuinely funny humor to make one of the PS3's few true masterpieces.

94/100 IGN

Not only has it supplanted Going Commando as the best title in the franchise, it's also the best game of any series on the PlayStation 3 thus far -and that's saying a lot when you're up against Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden, Warhawk and Insomniac's very own previous effort, Resistance: Fall of Man.

Let's face it you love the PS3 and everything about it, except the games that are out. You were wondering when is that game going to come out that is going to make it truly irresistible to own the PS3 for those who are hesitant buying it just for the blu-ray movie value. This is that game! Our family has always been fans of the R&C series and own all the games except the PSP "Size Matters" game.

The graphics and sound are truly stunning in this game. I agree with the other reviewer who died looking at the backgrounds you will keep falling off the map watching the graphics in the game. With this R&C you believe you are playing in a Pixar movie.

This is the game we have been waiting for one that is truly playable and looks and sounds amazing. It's time to buy that PS3 if you don't own one already.

This is the game that should have been instead of Enter the Matrix. It is so much fun playing as Neo on a Matrix game. I haven't finished yet; but for what I have played, I have been almost 100% satisfied with the game but like all games, this has a few flaws.

One of the good parts about the game is that the controls are excellent. Neo pulls off some awesomely fantastic moves. The graphics are points are great, but at other points not so great. I agree that they could have been better. The fun factor is great, it is fun. The game is long, I've been playing for a few hours and I'm still on the first movie. The game also follows the movie almost exactly; some parts can be changed if you choose to do things different that what was seen on the movie.

There are some down sides to this game. The camera angles sometimes moves to places where you can't see some of the things that are going on screen. When you die or skip the story, some of the noise is occasionally lost during some battles. The only other big problem I have seen with the game is what Jeffrey S. Stanley "Viper_29 said that when the guns are used and I lock on to opponents, when they die the lock automatically aims at the floor instead of the next bad guy and it can be at times frustrating.

Overall great game, fans of the Matrix will love it, but it does have flaws. I do recommend this game

First off, the only problem I have with this seller is that they never mentioned

that it was NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE, but beyond that, everything was satisfactory on

the seller's part.

I played this game years back, and I ordered it after watching the trilogy recently.

I opened the game and put it in my 360 only to find that the game is NOT BACKWARDS

COMPATIBLE!!!

Nobody had made comments on the product concerning this issue. I would have never thought

about this previous to having this specific problem. I am horribly disappointed and now I

have a fun game that I will not be able to play at all :(

This is the game "Enter the Matrix" had wet dreams about. Fluid control, a deceptively deep combat system, and more jaw dropping fight scenes than you can shake a 9mm at. The gun combat could be a little more finely tuned, but it works. Though who would want to use a gun when you can run across a wall, jump off and spear someone to the floor, pick them up by their legs, swing them around in circles, and launch them at a group of their homies? Because you can do that.

Honest reviews on The Matrix: Path Of Neo - Xbox

Hey, what can i say? THIS game is much more like what the first game should've been.

This game is not linear as other reviewer(s) have suggested.

Yes, it follows a VERY familliar story-line for fans of the series. But, this program allows you to act out some of the BEST battles that NEO had to offer within the trilogy.

The way they meshed the movie bits with a new perspective was very nice. 600 DIFFERENT ATTACKS! I think that's incredible.

Some are so creative you'll find yourself attached to them more than others. But, there are so darn many you may never use all of them! New characters written in by the Wachowski's , come new environments, and the original voice actors. Better graphics than the first, better action. Easier to control characters.

The only complaint i have is that your friends AI is not all too smart. Once in a while they'll walk right in front of you while you're shooting and bite the big one. Or, stand too close when you detonate a bomb and (again) bite the big one.

Other than that, this was as great as i expected it to be.

I'm not even a die hard fan of the movie franchise.

I am, however, a fan of this game. A fun program whether you're a hardcore fan or not. But, it does help to know at least a little about the movie first.

Okay, I have seen quite a few reviews on this game and people either love it or hate it. There is no middle ground. I have to say that while I haven't finished the game, I can report on what I have seen so far.

In regards to the graphics, I think this game pulls it off fairly well. I haven't noticed much of any lagging in the frame rate department. Yes, the graphics could have been better, but as they are I have no significant complaints. They are better than Enter the Matrix (ETM). They are definitely of a newer generation quality on the Xbox. While the graphics of the characters look good, there is a lot of background that also factors in. When you fight someone and knock them into a wall or other structure, that structure will break and reflect the hit.

The fighting system is fairly good. They have made it fairly simple and I never considered it a button mashing style. You basically have a few buttons that you use in addition to using the left joystick. You will accumulate moves as you progress through the game and also increase your "focus" which allows you to do all the famous moves from the Matrix universe such as dodging bullets and such. The training missions were a little long but they do help you to get a grip on the combat system. I have had several moments where I fought multiple opponents and had two attack me at once. I was able to grab them both as they swung at me and grabbed one hand and then the hand of the other and was able to defeat them while holding them together at the same time. It was one of the coolest moves I have ever seen in a game and it was silky smooth while it happened. You can move the camera angle during the fights and when you perform a special move the time will slow down and you can swing the camera to view it at any angle. Nice touch.

The shooting portion of the game is the one letdown here. You have to click the right joystick to draw the weapons and then you have to use the right joystick to switch from target to target by moving it left or right. The bad thing here is that you will continue to shoot a person even after they are dead. This makes you waste too much ammo. I had to switch back and forth from having my weapons drawn to switch to another target. Another annoying thing was that the camera lock would lock in a position even after the body of the person was gone. Again I had to click the right joystick and reclick it again to move on. The jump moves are nice when you engage the focus and you can pick people off from in the air.

There was a new ending rewritten for this game that is different from the movie. I haven't seen it yet but if I had I wouldn't post it to spoil it for any others playing the game. All in all it is a entertaining game that is worlds better than ETM. One thing when I popped it in the Xbox last night while playing it I definitely wanted to pop in my Matrix DVD to watch it again. This is definitely a renter for everyone. If you are a Matrix fan, you will most likely enjoy this game quite a bit. I could see a bit of influence from the Mortal Kombat games in the training sequence. When you play it you will probably see it as well. My local EB was able to hold a copy for me but they completely sold out of all the copies they had. They told me they were following the sales performance of this game but they suspected that it would be a sleeper hit. If sales of ETM are any signal, then this game will probably sell well into the millions. Give it a try. Chances are you will enjoy it enough to say "that wasn't a bad game at all". Enjoy.

This game is one of the best strategic RPGs I've ever played. It requires the player to take their time and delicately balance out their characters with upgraded weapons, enhanced skills, and even (or uneven) stats. The plotline is intriguing and the jokes are often hilarious. In many strategic RPGs I find myself level grinding in one exact area for a set period of time before I'm strong enough to move on, slaying the same monster over and over again. This game has an extensive map that grows with the conversations that you have with your party members. The gameplay itself requires logical thinking and strategy (because it IS a strategic RPG, you know.), something that other games lack. As for graphics, this game doesn't push the limit, but the designers clearly know that there are much more important things than being as showy and shallow as games such as Call of Duty, and Halo. It's in standard strategic RPG format, and I love it. Until now, all strategic RPGs were on handhelds, and it got a little tiring.

This is NOT a game that you can blow through in one night. This game DOES require you to actually enjoy the game you're playing instead of just mindlessly killing drones and copies of monstes with terrible AI systems.

Long time fans of Grand Theft Auto know that each of the games in the post-PS1 era is thematically linked to a particular genre of movie. GTA III is heavily indebted to Mafia movies such as Goodfellas and The Godfather, as well as to the cable television series The Sopranos. Vice City is clearly influenced by Miami Vice and Scarface, while San Andreas draws a great deal of inspiration from Colors and Boyz N the Hood.

GTA IV-The Complete Edition carries on this tradition by transforming Grand Theft Auto IV into an homage to Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon. As in Kurosawa's film, a set of events is seen from multiple points of view, leaving the player to decide which perspective he or she believes is the most credible. Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, and Luis Lopez, the main characters, each bring a different experience and interpretation to GTA IV's story line. Niko is an immigrant, forced to assimilate and adapt rapidly to a world completely new to him. Johnny is caught in a classic master versus apprentice situation. Luis, who is the only character with any kind of insider status, must choose between building his future and honoring his past.

These are all familiar character situations in videogames, of course, but Rockstar creates deeper and richer stories and characters than most other game developers. The majority of games stick to the bare rudiments of character motivation and development. Rockstar has given us THREE strong stories in the GTA IV series, each with a complex and compelling main character. It was ambitious of Rockstar to release Niko's view of the story first, in isolation, without any indication of what was to come later. Many of the events in the Niko version of the story, in fact, aren't fully explained until the Luis and Johnny episodes. Compare that to the usual rote or clichéd story arcs found in too many games, even multi-episode games. There are a few studios that consistently produce well-written games in addition to Rockstar--Bungie, Valve, and Kojima Productions are three standouts--but the vast majority treat story and plot as afterthoughts.

Story and influences aside, the bigger question is whether or not GTA IV and the two Episodes are fun to play. The answer is YES, even though it is clear that Rockstar devoted a lot more development time to Luis' episode than it did to Johnny's episode. TLAD feels somewhat stripped down and is similar to GTA III in many ways. You'll spend most of your time following the main story, driving or riding to combat missions. If you fully explored Liberty City in Niko's episode, there isn't a whole lot to discover or do that you haven't already experienced. On the other hand, TBOGT contains a much broader variety of missions, side activities, and minigames. Most players will spend more time with TBOGT than with TLAD--but now that they're both part of this value priced set, it's no big deal. The important thing is to play the series in the order in which it was released (GTA IV then TLAD then TBOGT). If you don't, you'll miss out on properly experiencing how the full story unfolds.

Well worth picking up.

This game is amazing. If you didn't get GTA IV yet, you need to get it. I recommend this version instead of the original standard version so you can, of course, get the 2 episodes that were only available as downloadable content before. It's best to buy the whole package instead of buying the original and then downloading the 2 episodes through Live Marketplace. The few extras are also something that make it worth picking up this spectacular game.

Best Deals for Grand Theft Auto IV & Episodes from Liberty City: The Complete

Let's face it, Grand Theft Auto IV has been on the market for almost 2 years now along with both of it's episodic content. Altogether you're getting about $60 worth of content for $30, but it's really a matter of "do you have it already?". What you get basically is a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV with everything on it that was on it before, nothing new to add. And a copy of Episodes of Liberty City which allows you to play Lost or Gay Tony without the original copy of the disc. If you haven't been able to check out Grand Theft Auto IV over the last several year (like me) then this is the overall best deal.

For those of you unaware of GTAIV, pretty much what you're getting is a the most realistic game on the market from in-game television (which holds the amazing "Republican Space Rangers"), stand up acts from actual comedians, taking out a girl on a date, hanging out with friends, and the most active setting of Liberty City to date. Niko Belic is probably the most likable character since Travis Touchdown with his blunt sarcasm making every situation in that much more enjoyable. However there are still no checkpoints thus making some missions far more frustrating then required. The Lost and Damned show a much more "metal" and "biker" influenced view on Liberty City while improving the motorcycle physics in the game has the most confusing protagonist I've seen in a long while, and Gay Tony manages to make things a bit more over the top and ridiculous (more in the fashion of San Andreas) while living up to the standard that IV set for me (and keeping the improved mechanics of Lost) in addition both Lost and Gay Tony have a checkpoint feature though Gay Tony happens to make the best use of it.

Overall if you haven't picked up GTAIV you have no more excuses this is easily the best deal available with both Lost and Damned, and The Balled of Gay Tony still available on the game marketplace for $20 each. You're pretty much getting 3 games for the price of 1.

Honest reviews on Grand Theft Auto IV & Episodes from Liberty City: The Complete

I bought this game for somebody else, but watched them play it. It comes with 2 discs, but offers 3 different games that eventually tie together during the story line. Play as 3 different characters, Niko Bellic (a slavic immigrant with a military past), Luis Lopez (Gay Tony's henchman and former Marine) or Johnny (the leader of a biker gang). It offers hours of game play and chaos.

Star Wars Dark Forces
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

As a first-person shooter enthusiast, I had high hopes for Dark Forces when I hear about it for the first time.

And as it may be a sin to compare it to Doom, because honestly and truthfully, this game is hardly what Doom is, I must say one thing....take Doom, send it through a meat grinder, out pops Dark Forces.

Everything in this game is ho-hum....half or less than half of what Doom gives the Playstation gamer.

It's not THAT disappointing....it's still very fun to play....but the whole game seems rushed. People forgot to add more than 3 colors to walls and background images, and the pixelization is unsurpassed. Stormtroopers and items laying about look like primitive Lego models. The soundtrack isn't all that bad, but could be better....the voices are really done well though.

The levels in the game are ok....I found myself getting lost on some of them though due to the fact everything looks the same because of the limited color palette....and even some areas I'm guessing are supposed to be covered in "shadows" are in all actuality, just black spaces with no graphics at all.

The weapons are typical Star Wars guns....nothing entirely special, but it is a fun selection.

If you're a Star Wars fan, and can get this game for 5 bucks or less, by all means, add it to your collection.

But if you're a first-person shooter junkie, look elsewhere for a top-quality shooter.

Overall, an average game, 5 out of 10, possibly 5.5.

Honest reviews on Star Wars Dark Forces

First of all, this game is old. Its graphics [are not good], so does its sound. With that out of the way, it is pretty cool. It has fun weapons an codes especially. After about four levels, you will tire of the game becuse its a labyrinth, often to find where youre going. Luckily, many awesome levels, patches, and other things are availiable online, ehich makes the computer game fun. If youre going to get it: Get the comp one, becuase other wise its a waste of money

Ok. This game came out in the mid 90's, but even for then, it's an average game. Nothing stands out to make it a "must have" for the Star Wars fan and gamer.

Graphically, it's a step down from the old Doom days. Characters are made of HUGE sprites--The closer you get, the more blocky they are. Backgrounds/levels are huge, but poorly done. Most levels are just plain boring and the colors are extremely dull looking.

The sound, out of everything, is fairly good. Effects and voices are above that average level. The music, though, is a disappointment. This is a 32-bit game with an 8-bit soundtrack. One thing in every Star Wars movie that's done well with pride is the music score. All Star Wars games should be no different than the movies with the same score. This game is one of those games where the music is just plain bad.

Fun value is on the average level, as well. Where most everything is dull, the enjoyment of blasting Stormtroopers, Probe Droids, etc. is fun for every Star Wars fan.

If you enjoy first person shooters and the Star Wars movie series, then give it a try. It's cheap money-wise, however, it's just that, as well (gameplay-wise)--cheap.
