COD4 is truly one of the best first person shooter games. You can play the story mode which takes you through an entire war, with a detailed and intriguing story, and has many different styles of play. Some stages will require straight gun fights, while others will require you to be stealth and snipe your enemies from afar.

The best thing about this game is the Multiplayer function. This is such a great feature as it extends the play value of the game. In most games, once you beat the story mode, there is hardly any reason to play again. however, in multiplayer mode, you will be playing with other gamers around the world online, for free, and get to eliminate each other. Multiplayer mode has many different modes to choose from such as "capture the flag", or "free for all" but the main objectives are all the same. eliminate your opponents!

If you need more detailed footage of the game, just youtube it and see how the game play is in action.

This is the game that made me decide to buy a PS3. I'd only had a Wii before, and figured that was enough. Then for Christmas one of my friends bought this for himself as a "present" along with a PS3, and invited me over to play it. The moment it started up I realized I needed to get this game.

The cinematics and graphics really are top-notch. Even though it's an older game by now (the next Call of Duty is already slated to drop in less than a month), this still holds up among many of the newer games coming out. I dare you not to drop your jaw when you go through the "Shock and Awe" level...just amazing.

The gameplay is really easy to get ahold of. I'd always been a fairly loyal Nintendo fan, so I hadn't played a lot of First Person shooters, but within 20 minutes or so I was blowing through the easy difficulty. The game does ramp up considerably for the hardcore crowd though, so if you really want to put your skills to the test, this is the game for you.

Speaking of putting your skills to the test. This is the one warning and the one "bad" thing I have to say about the game. This game has been out for almost a year, and some people have been playing it non-stop since it came out. If you go online you will die. A lot. I mean it, you will not know what hit you for your first few rounds. The online component is fantastic, but I would really recommend spending a good deal of time on the campaign mode before you even try to hop online. Or better yet, start a game with some of your friends so the odds might be a little more even.

A quick note about the Game of the Year edition. It's cool looking, but if you can get the regular edition for cheaper you should probably go for it. The only difference is a voucher to download the 4 extra maps for multiplayer, and you can only use them online if every one you're playing with has downloaded them as well. Most people haven't, so I've only gotten to use them a handful of times. They look neat, but ultimately you won't get to use them much.

There's a good reason this game was given a game of the year edition. It's probably the best FPS to come out on the PS3 so far, and possibly this generation. On the 360 it even managed to dethrone Halo 3 on Live for awhile because so many people were into it. Buy it and see, odds are you will not be dissapointed.

Best Deals for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Greatest Hits)

If you love playing Unreal or Halo, this game will probably catch you off guard. However, in the recent surge of "realistic" shooters, COD4 really seems to take the cake. The story mode is enthralling through most of the missions. If you haven't played many next-gen games before this, you'll likely play through the first mission with your jaw on the floor. The game looks very detailed and gameplay is smooth and entertaining.

Even as good as the one-player missions are, the real reason for buying this or most shooters is for the online play. You'll find plenty of opponents waiting online in one of the many gameplay types. Online games range from 4-18 players depending on the mode, and it has a big effect. Smaller games will make you feel a little more adrenaline because you don't know where the next enemy is going to jump out. Some of the bigger games can be a little more laid back, and make it easier to play without be afraid of dying.

The interface of the game is well-made, controls are smooth, even if they may take a few plays to get used to, and sounds and visuals are realistic for the weapons and maps. This is not a game where you can run straight through the middle of a field and come out on the other side alive, since 3-4 bullets from many guns will kill you. That said, a lot of the games will require you to out-think your online foes, or at least be quicker to the draw.

This Game of the Year edition of COD4 comes with (I believe) 4 extra maps in a "map pack", a $10 value for free. This was not a breaking point for me in the purchase, but some of them are pretty cool. When you enter the code in the Playstation Store and download the maps, you then install them to the HDD and they are immediately playable in split-screen and online modes. They are all pretty fun to play, but if you can find COD4 without the GOTY distinction for a cheaper price (I'd say at least $10) go ahead and pick it up. The extra maps aren't really used enough to be necessary.

All in all, it's the best shooter in terms of realism I've played to this point, and I'd recommend this game for anyone who enjoys shooters (with a little strategy) or anyone who likes military games, because this game immerses you in military lingo and strategy, especially in the solo missions.

Honest reviews on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Greatest Hits)

I bought this excited that it was the game of the year edition for PS3. Game of the year edition comes with all the extra multiplayer maps that others had to pay for on the Playstation Network. I was disappointed when I really received the Greatest Hits version. I checked the website to make sure and it said

"This game has recently become part of the "Greatest Hits" program and the packaging has been updated. You may receive the standard or greatest hits version of the game; while packaging may vary, the game content is the same. "

This is an outright lie. The game content is not the same and now I will have to pay an extra $15 to get the multiplayer maps that should have been included according to Amazon.

There's one very annoying thing about the Game of the Year Edition for the PS3 that makes me glad I didn't pay extra for it: it's no different than the regular edition. While the PC version offers extras, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the PS3 no longer gives you the bonus map pack (or anything else) for paying extra and purchasing the Game of the Year Edition. Any additional map packs (I found one, the "Variety Map Pack") have to be downloaded from the PlayStation store for an extra fee. If you're looking at the GotY edition for the purpose of multiplayer, keep this in mind as nothing extra comes in the GotY and the "Variety" map pack costs extra to purchase. The "bonus map pack" referred to on Activision's site was a limited-time-only promotion.

Now that I've played this game on the PC, XBox 360, and PS3, I have to say that the XBox 360 feels just a bit better--but the PS3's translation is still very good. As a PC Gamer coming to consoles, I have a hard time finding a first-person shooter that I'm even barely competent in. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the PS3 has been one of the best translations for me (my other favorite is the Orange Box). It has a very "playable" feel, making my WASD-familiar brain feel very comfortable switching over to the PS3's controller. While I've seen more than one title using very obvious auto-aim, making your reticle snap-to and stick or making anyone in the neighborhood of your shots magically sprout magnets and pull fire to them, CoD: Modern Warfare doesn't do this. Instead it just makes it easier for me to center on my target while I'm running and/or crouching, jumping, etc.--it's like the right stick moves consistently smoother. That makes it just plain easier to multi-task. Given that I typically have some pretty hefty hardware on the PC, I wasn't certain if the PS3 version would match the quality of my high-end gaming machine. I was pleasantly surprised when things looked just as sharp on the console as they do on the PC: the programmers definitely took advantage of the PS3's unique hardware.

I've now played this game's Single-Player Campaign through more than once, and loved it. Like other titles in the Call of Duty series, it uses team-based play, and simulates your team using the computer to "drive" your teammates. Continuing in the tradition of the other titles, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare adds more structure to the missions, more life to the characters, and more depth to the story. You spend most of the game as new recruit 'Soap' MacTavish, but you also get to flash back to an earlier point in the story, play as your commanding officer, and learn more about him.

One odd departure from other games is that there are storyline sequences that are not exactly "playable", but neither are they cutscenes. You live a segment of the storyline through the eyes of the person going through it. These are short, so they don't frustrate, and what they do is heighten the drama. It's an interesting technique, and because it isn't overused, it works well here to keep the storyline going.

Another great pacing trick is that the storyline spans countries. It crosses continents and it puts you in more than one spot: one of my favorites was manning three guns using night-vision cameras aboard a large plane as it provides air support to your team on the ground. Overall, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare graphics are very detailed, the environments feel authentic, and the sounds impressed me. I liked the dialogue and I really enjoyed the fact that my teammates seemed to be somewhat intelligent. There were some really neat goals in each mission, and I have fond memories of the adrenaline rush. I'm delighted that they made a Modern Warfare 2.

I have been waiting a long time for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway to come out. There have been numerous delays and the game was supposed to come out sometime last year. Well it finally came out and I picked up the game yesterday from my local Game Retailer.

The game follows up the first two Brothers in Arms games that came out earlier. You play the role of Sergeant Matt Baker who leads squads of men through Holland during Operation Market Garden in September 1944 during World War II. Operation Market Garden was the last German victory in Europe during the war.

I think the game has a great story line. The game in my opinion is very well done and acted out. It really shows what I think every soldier has to endure and go through during wartime. It is very emotional and gripping. You find out that soldiers have to make life or death decisions that can effect them the rest of their lives. This game shows not only soldiers struggling through this conflict, but also Dutch civilians who were caught in the crossfire between the Allies and the Germans.

If you are looking for a game where you make tactical decisions about how to fight battles during Operation Market Garden, this is it. Your decisions can decide the life's of your soldiers under your command.

The AI is very good in this game. I read some game reviews from other gaming websites where the game reviewers were complaining about German Soldiers who were just standing around when you shoot at them. First of all, you can now sneak up on German Soldiers to plan an attack without them knowing your there. In other words, you can set up an ambush. You set up you and your squads where you want them to fight the Germans. Of course the Germans are going to stand around if they don't know that you are there hiding. Second you can now set up you and your men where the Germans are caught in a cross fire when you fire at them with your weapons. The Germans get confused because there is no where to run and hide. So of course a lot of them are going to stand around because of the crossfire. That happens in real life too.

The graphics are real good in this game. I understand the developers of this game went to actual locations around Holland and took thousands of pictures to make the game looked like Holland during World War II. That is very impressive.

I think the game has a lot of replay value to it because the Germans react differently every time you play the game again. Each time you try to figure out how you will fight different battles throughout the game. I recommend buying this game especially if you like playing World War II games like me.

UPDATE: I just finished playing Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway and I noticed a couple of things I wanted to update about this game. I'm a true gamer who likes to give honest opinions about the games I play. The above opinions were given when I was only half way through the game. Here are the updates.

1. The graphics are great at the beginning of the game and toward the middle, but not at the end. It seems like the game developer got into a big hurry to finish this game and just threw in graphics from the "Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood" game into the end of this game. The trees and buildings at the end of game just look dull and not very detailed like at the beginning and the middle of the game. The game was already a year behind schedule and I'm sure the game developer got pressured into finishing the game as soon as possible. I was wondering why I never saw any game trailers that show any missions that were at the end of this game. Now I know why.

2. None of the mission maps you play through are very big throughout the game. You play a little way through a mission and then you get a cut scene. That scenario plays over and over again throughout the game. Too many cut scenes and not enough playing time. If you want a comparison in map sizes, try playing Battlefield: Bad Company and you'll see what I'm talking about as far as map sizes go. Battlefield: Bad Company maps are a lot bigger with less cut scenes.

3. Operation Market Garden was all about the Allies taking and holding major road bridges along Hell's Highway throughout Holland during World War II before the Germans could blow up any of the bridges. Well in the game I didn't see one major bridge shown in any missions. There is one small bridge in the game that goes over a small canal but I don't count that. I'm talking about big huge bridges over major rivers. I didn't see any at all. I was really disappointed. Why were there no major road bridges shown in the game? That is what Operation Market Garden was all about.

4. There were lots of different vehicles used during Operation Market Garden by both the Allies and the Germans. In the game, I only saw one kind of Allied tank (Sherman Firefly) used in the game and one kind of German tank (Panzer IV) used. I didn't see any German Panther tanks, Tiger tanks, German Halftracks, German Volkswagen Kubelwagen, etc. I also didn't see any other American tanks or any British tanks of any kind. What is up with that?

5. Not every mission in this game has you play with squads of men. In fact in some of the missions, you fight alone against the Germans. And in some missions you don't fight at all. Running through a building that is on fire is one of them. There is no shooting at all. I thought in every mission I would control squads of men.

This game reminds me a lot of Medal of Honor: Airborne. That game could of been awesome too if it had of been done right. I remember that game went through a lot of delays just like Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway did and it came out about a year later than it was suppose to. Medal of Honor: Airborne was great the first few missions and then it went downhill the last couple of missions. This game is the same way. After playing the game, I'll have to change my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Sorry. I just feel this game could of been made better.

WWII-based shooters seem like a cliche at this point, but Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway stands above the rest. The tone is more like the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, and the game's story follows this same method. This is the first WWII (or any for that matter) FPS that actually doesn't glorify war and doesn't dumb down the entire experience to a one-man-army taking down Nazi Germany by himself. Your squad actually does things. Tactics are actually rewarded while run-and-gun checkpoint racing (like Call of Duty or Medal of Honor) styles are punished severely. The cut-scenes throughout the missions and between the missions provide the depth that is often not in other FPS titles. The game does an excellent job of showing the stresses of war on your character, going as far as to show elements of post-traumatic stress through the game. The tone is hardly positive, which goes with the setting of Operation: Market Garden. Characters die, and there's a feeling of chaos through certain sections of the game. So far, this is one of the best single-player games I've played this year.

The single player mode alone is worth playing through. The multiplayer, however, is not. There's only one mode, and I don't think I've ever seen a full room. While the single player is mindblowing and amazing, this game won't have the legs that other shooters (Call of Duty, Halo, Gears of War, etc) will simply because of the lack of players.

Great game. Very realistic, but...it will lock you out from your save point without notice. I got two chapters from the end, and could no longer load my save point. Never got to finish the game. Saw similar comments on line about the game losing save points. Be forewarned. You may start the game, but may not ever be able to finish it. No updates available to fix this bug.

Well, the game itself is amazing. It's one of the well written and enjoyable games out there. Issue is, I cannot review the limited edition because the people I "Bought" it from only sent the game, not the LE box set. Thankfully it was taken care of, but I digress. can't really review.

Online tournaments, fantastic

I couldn't believe what a great game this is. A fisherman for over 30 years I didn't expect much but this game is truly is a fishing simulator. The best part about it is online options and lobby you can create any kind of fishing tournament restricting the line to 2 pound test, pan fish only, all the way to any combination you can think of . You can even restrict motors to four hp or any boat they own.

Nightly tournaments are held at 5:30 p.m. Pacific 8:30 p.m. Eastern to check the complete fishing tournament schedule and calendar go to XBLgames.com

This game is a must-have for anyone even remotely interested in fishing but it is an excellent videogame for those who don't fish. Being a simulator it will also help you learn how to fish.

This is an excellent game. You have to find good fishing spots, and arrange your tackle. There is tons of equipment, boats, etc to choose from. This is the best fishing simulation I have ever played on a console. The game is easier if you already have a good amount of fishing knowledge, but the game will teach you if you're patient. This is a great game to play online with friends while chatting. It's fun just to drive your boat up to a competitor and watch them reel in the big one. I almost feel like I'm outside fishing when I play this game.

This is the best fishing game you can buy for the xbox. It's a true simulation of fishing, and it does take some fishing knowledge, that the game will teach you. This is a vey fun game to play online and offline. I highly recommend it, even if you've never fished before

Honest reviews on Pro Fishing Challenge

I know this game is old and on regular xbox but you can play it on the 360. I am an avid fisherman and have played almost every fishing game out from Black Bass on old school nintendo to Rapala Fishing on xbox360 and this game destroys all of them. It is so realistic with using every type of lure and plastics you can think of, the choice of spinner or baitcasting reels, rod strengths, braided, mono, flourocarbon line, texas, carolina, and another rig I forgot, and so much more. You start out fishing tourneys building up your career from getting a simple jon boat to buying a beautiful bass boat and buying more and more tackle as you get more money. There are different types of casting and you can troll around too. The controls on this game are phenomenal which I rate this the best fishing game ever. I hope they make a newer version for the 360.

This is the most realistic fishing title out there that I have found. The graphics are way cool and the fact that you can't see underwater makes it even more realistic. All you see is you, the boat, and your environment above the water. Nice. I had so much fun with this game that I had to stick with it until I beat it and collected all the boats, motors, and colors. The bass boats with the biggest motors are so much fun to drive! I highly recommend this game.

Ok, so let's get this disclaimer out of the way first: I've done reviews on lots of games but I have an 8 year old son show loves Phineas and Ferb, so this was pretty much a must-purchase.

And if you're ANY kind of gamer, this game will not challenge you at all. I beat it in less than 3 hours. So in that case (maybe if you want an easy platinum trophy?) you could rent this in a weekend and get everything.

For everyone else, those who have kids or maybe a spouse who doesn't play video games that often, this game is easily accessible. It's literally impossible to get stuck and not know what to do next. The combat is simple (I stuck with the Baseball gun the entire game and it worked fine). The platforming can get semi-difficult at times in a couple stages but other than that it's a very linear, straightforward game.

The replay value, since this is such a short game, is buy buying everything from the store, and playing the mini-games (A Claw Game and a Skee Ball game). The claw game will also give you figurines and sound/appearance mod chips which means you won't have to buy them in the store.

Graphicwise, the game looks awesome during the stages but if you've watched the cartoon the cutscenes are just awful. I would think with something as powerful as the PS3, they could make the actual characters look a lot better.

The sound is very good in the game, especially with the ability to change the sounds on the weapons. The kiddos will love that one (i.e. they shoot and their weapon moos for example).

The game controls are very sharp, the developers nailed that one.

However, I do have a couple gripes:

There are times I fell right through a platform, even though I clearly landed on it.

The only "replay value" is if you're a trophy hunter or want to buy everything. For a near full retail title ($40), getting only 3 hours of real gameplay to beat the game simply isn't acceptable in 2011, even if this is a game geared towards kids. Spyro was too and would give at least 15-20 hours.

There isn't a ton of originality in this game, as I saw elements ripped off from several (Ratchet and Clank, even Super Mario Bros 3!).

So, as with most of my reviews, here's the bottom line:

If you have a kid who's just starting to play video games, or one that loves the show, definitely buy it. But understand the actual going through the game is very short.

If you're any kind of a gamer you'll crush this game in a couple hours.

Not a lot of replay value unless you're trying to get everything.

This IS one of the better "cartoon/movie" based games I've played so if you've got kiddos, definitely make the purchase!

This is a fun game. I've been playing it for a few weeks with my boys (5 & 3 year old). They really enjoy the animated TV series so we purchased the game as a reward for good behavior. My 5 year old has picked up the game mechanics quite well and even my 3 year old can play, although he frequently just runs into a corner/wall and doesn't help with objectives he still has a blast. Luckily because of the game machanics applied to player 2, player 2 is automatically dragged along with player 1 as player 1 progresses through objectives. I've found this to be especially helpful when I play with my 5 year old and it also allows a younger sibling to play along allowing them to be part of the action, while not disrupting gameplay and frustrating an older sibling.

Pros:

-Cooperative play

-Player 1 centric (letting player 1 control pace and objectives)

-You don't die when you run out of health (you have to shake the control to 'revive')

-Simple controls

-Its Phineas and Ferb, duh

Cons:

-None that I can think of

So far, great game.

Best Deals for Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension - Playstation 3

When I started to play, it only took me two days to finish the story. There were 4 HI-DEF episodes in the hybrid disc so that was a good thing.

However, I felt that the creators were going way too easy on the consumers and heres why:

1. You would never get a game over or actually lose completely. Like health is really needed.

2. The levels are too short and mostly obvious by the way.

3. Its not really as accurate as the movie.

4. The Dr.Doof robot(Final Boss) did not convince me that it was an actual boss battle but a run.

5. The ending itself was stupid and pretty lame.

Overall, maybe the little kids would enjoy and then get bored by the end of the week. Yeah, NOT worth spending $39.99 to keep, but maybe as a rental. If you got all the acheivements, good for you then.

This really is a great game, full of great graphics and put together very nicely. However, as others have stated, the game is very easy to get through and beat.

The game is broken into six worlds, each with 2-5 levels, requiring a somewhat linear progression through the game to acquire characters, weapons, prizes, etc. Very easy to navigate through but many of the levels will literally take only minutes to complete.

As a reference point, my 4-year old and I play a decent amount of PS3 games mostly the Lego series (Batman, Batman 2, Indiana Jones, Lord of the RIngs, etc.) We can play a Lego game for weeks (we only play a few hours of PS3 per week) but had the Phineas and Ferb game completed in two nights with about 2 1/2 hours of gameplay. We went back through the game a second time to acquire the coins and prizes we missed, decked out the characters in various alternative costumes, and mastered each of the levels to the fullest extent. All in, including the second time through the game, we spent about 7 hours playing it.

I would easily give this game five stars if it had more levels, worlds and a tad more difficulty to it. With any luck we may see add-on's or a sequel to the game. It is, again, very well put together but don't expect to play this game for hours on end and have it still mesmerize you.

Ever since Super Mario Kart came out it has been a favorite SNES game of mine. Super Mario Kart is the best racing game ever made for the Super Nintendo.

There are 3 different modes you can play in this game: Mario GP (Grand Prix), Time Trial, and Battle Mode. In Mario GP you can choose form eight different characters form Nintendo games: Mario, Luigi, Princess, Yoshi, Toad, Koopa, Donkey Kong Jr. and Bowser. Then you can choose to race in the Mushroom Cup, the easiest, Flower Cup, or Star Cup, the hardest in 50cc, 100cc, or 150cc mode. 50cc mode is the easiest to race in, but in 100cc and 150cc the computer gets a lot faster and more challenging. After you win a Cup you will earn a trophy. If you beat every Cup you will unlock a secret cup which is very difficult. In GP you can play one or two players.

In Time Trial mode you race in any course from the Mushroom, Flower, Star or Special Cup and try to set records for the fastest lap and/or race.

In battle mode you and a friend choose a character to battle against each other. You drive around a course trying to pop each other's 3 balloons. You pop their balloons by shooting green or red shells at them or throwing banana peels at them. This mode is very fun especially if you get tired of GP mode.

If you are looking for a great classic racing game for the Super Nintendo, Super Mario Kart is the game to get.

Racing games have been a staple of the video game world for years. This game combines just the right mix of silliness with racing to be fun for everyone.

You can choose to be one of 8 Nintendo characters, from Mario and Luigi to the Princess, Donkey Kong Jr., or Yoshi. The object is the same as any other racing game, be the first to complete the race, in this case five laps. Along the way, you can pick up objects to help you and hinder others like turtle shells, banana peels, or the invincibility star. Keep winning, and you move up.

There are three sets of tracks and two speeds for each, so there is plenty of variety to keep you entertained for a while. Plus you can race the computer or one other human opponent. The head to head races are the most fun because your friend will offer some surprises that a computer won't. Finally, you can always battle it out and try to be the first person to knock your opponent off the battle field.

The controls are easy to get used to. I may not be as good at it as my friends, but I've spent many happy hours driving around these tracks.

Wow! This game is great! I've had it for for a couple years and I still enjoy it. The Musroom Cup, Star Cup etc. (in one player mode) is really fun and my brothers and I could never master one of the levels, which makes us want to play again and again to beat it. Then the other one player thing is time trial, where you choose a course to practice on while being timed. Then you have the two player mode. One option is Battle mode where you and another person get items from the game and battle, while still racing. Then you can also race against another person in a different two player mode. As you can this is a great game.

Honest reviews on Super Mario Kart

One word:classic.Super Mario Kart Has been a favorite game to me since it came out. With different modes like Time Trial and Mario GP (Grand Prix)It easily became the favorite game for America to play. You can choose from eight characters:Mario,Luigi,Princess,Bowser,Toad,Yoshi,Koopa Troopa and Donkey Kong Jr.My personal favorite was Luigi. In Time Trial you can pick races in the Star cup the Flower cup or the Mushroom Cup.Also in the GP you can choose from those cups. There is three modes to race in for the Grand Prix:50cc,100cc and 150cc but you unlock 150cc by beating the game. When you get trophys for beating 100cc you will get a secret cup.Dont be fooled the secret cup is very hard. When you get first place in the secret cup you will beat the game and unlock 150cc.Then once you beat 150cc only then will you be the greatest master of Super Mario Kart.So to end a long story the game is pure classic fun.

If you like Metallica you are going to love this game. You get MOST of Metallica's best songs and can play them on guitar, bass, drums, or sing them on the mic. The career mode is improved over World Tour. You no longer have to play a whole set at one time to unlock the next. You have to get a certain amount of stars to unlock the next, but all the sets are so awesome you are going to want to play them anyway. There are several new features such as Metallifacts which is basically the band playing a song and it giving little VH1 style tidbits about the song while it is playing. The note charts seem to be better than on World Tour as well. There are also little improvement to the interface as well, but let's face it....a guitar hero game is only as good as it's soundtrack. If you don't like metal you probably won't like this game. If you do you are in for a treat with songs such as: Master of Puppets, Enter Sandman, Fade to Black, One, Dyer's Eve, Battery, Hit the Lights, Nothing Else Matters, One, King Nothing, Seek and Destroy, For Whom the Bell Tolls, etc. Not to mention the other bands in the game: Slayer, Alice in Chains, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Machine Head, System of Down and others. It's quite exciting listening to the Ecstacy of Gold as Metallica comes on stage and then rocking out to For Whom the Bell Tolls. So if you are a Metallica fan you have to pick this one up, even if you aren't and you just like a good guitar hero challenge this one should keep you busy for awhile.

Guitar Hero: Metallica was one of my most anticipated video games of 2009 and it didn't disappoint. After this many games, I think I should summarize the series in a paragraph. GHII was an amazing game even if it didn't have the best soundtrack because the game play overshadowed it. This was the last official GH made by Harmonix. GHIII was a great game and was the last GH I was satisfied with. It only had a few minor issues such as easy hammer-ons/pull-offs and over charted songs. GH: Aerosmith was just plain boring and was a simple cash in. GH: World Tour, they started getting better at charting, however, the set list ruined that game. Guitar Hero: Metallica is the first game where Neversoft got everything right. They nailed it.

Let me start off saying that this is, like I said in the title, possibly the best GH out of all of them and I don't know if they'll ever be able to top it. GHM follows GHWT's formula, meaning that bass, drums, and vocals are back. Drums have a new difficulty, Expert+, that uses another bass pedal. I haven't really played any career except guitar, which is ten times more fun than GHWT's guitar career. I do know that the vocals are fixed since they were broken in GHWT. In battle mode, there are a few new additions, "Ride the Lightning", which is designed after "Amp Overload", and "Fade to Black", which blacks out your note chart. There were only a few songs I didn't find fun, while literally half of GHWT wasn't fun. I know that I'm mentioning GHWT a lot in this review, but its because it disappointed me so much and its hard to believe this was made by the same company. GHM has gotten me back into GH after two big disappointments. If you're a fan of Metallica or have been waiting for another good GH, buy this now. This is also a good start if you're new to the series.

It was about we had a game like this, where the set list is made up of great music. RockBand was cool and all, but having to play through songs by Creed, Offspring, and the like, was just way too painful.

GH Metallica Rocks!! Mercyful Fate, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Queen, Machine Head, and of course, a lot of Metallica!!

Playing drums on Expert+ is awesome! We need more of that. Maybe a Guitar Hero "Metal" edition, or something like that, where we'd only get bands such as Nevermore, Black Sabbath, Testament, Megadeth, etc.

Here's the reason why I didn't give this title 5 stars:

* Some songs on the set list could have been replaced. For instance, they could have chosen a heavier song by Alice In Chains (such as Them Bones, Would, etc.). Or even Metallica songs like the ones from Load and Reload could have been dropped in anything else from the first 4 albums.

* The "practice mode" is pretty lame: you play the section once, and then the thing just stops. Why not loop through it like RockBand does?? Am I missing something here?

But again, other than that, this title rocks! I've been playing mostly the drums, but have done quite a bit on vocals, and have just started doing the guitar as well. Can't have enough of it. :)

Honest reviews on Guitar Hero Metallica - Xbox 360

Since Rockband has come out the GH series has suffered with mediocre offerings like Guitar Heo: Aerosmith and World Tour. Being a Metallica fan I was doubtful this game would be any good and certainly another flop in the GH track recrod.

Not the case... at all.

It's hard to describe but GH-Metallica FEELS like the GH1-2 on the PS2. Again hard to describe. The actual GH expierience is fun again.

All of the Metallica tracks are superb. The other bands featured meh, mostly one time through and you won't replay them. If you know the tunes and are a fan you will get into the playing aspect. My fiance and I were banging our heads through "King Nothing" and really getting into "Nothing Else Matters." The songs are challenging but fun to play on the hard difficulty level. Some songs like "Battery" seem near impossible on expert... as it well should :)

The visuals are great! Metallica is done justic in the GH style. If you've ever seen them live you will notice the mannerisms/gestures of each band member.

Character creation is lack luster and not really worth your time. GH has a ways to go to catch up with Rockband on that one.

If you're fan of the plastic guitar and Metallica it's worth the $60. Regardless of your views of Metallica they have put the fun factor back into a faltering franchise.

Try before you buy though; the demo is out on Xbox Live featuring "Sad But True."

I'm a big fan of the Guitar Hero video games, always have been ever since the first one was released on the PS2 over 3 years ago. All of them have been excellent in my opinion, but last fall saw the release of "Guitar Hero: World Tour" and it was the best one at that point. It had way more songs, the graphics were far superior to previous titles, all the songs were the original versions, there was a create-a-character function, and you could now sing and play drums as well.

Well, imagine all of those awesome features, but with Metallica at the center of it all. Buying this game was a no-brainer for me, because Guitar Hero just happens to be one of my favorite video game series right now and Metallica just happens to be one of my 2 favorite bands of all time. But that doesn't automatically make the game good. I remember I was somewhat disappointed with last year's "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith." I'm an Aerosmith fan, and it was great to have more songs to play, but I found the setlist kinda weak, the game was kinda short, and the graphics now seem subpar compared to "World Tour." But when I first popped in GH Metallica a few days ago, I was instantly blown away. The graphics are stunning, the Metallica avatars are incredibly accurate, and the audience looks awesome! Then, you've got 28 awesome Metallica songs to choose from. That's a winner right there, but they did a very nice job with the song choices. This game still has the same create-a-character option as in "World Tour," and you're still able to sing and play drums in addition to guitar and bass. Some cool new features include the ability to change the difficulty setting in the middle of the song, and you're also now able to get more star power while you're already using it. In addition to the Metallica tunes, you also have 21 songs to choose from by artists who are friends and influences of the band. There are also many more neat little surprises in the game, for example, being able to give your character a variety of different Metallica shirts (many of which I own in real life). You can also unlock James and Kirk's signature guitars and a few bonus characters. If you previously downloaded all the "Death Magnetic" songs, they will unlock on this game after you've finished it. I gotta say, I think this may be the best Guitar Hero game so far...not just because of the music, but the technical features as well. If you have different game systems, I think the X-Box 360 version is the only way to go. The look and feel of the game is obviously far superior to the Wii, and the PS3 is a pretty worthless system. With the incredible success of Metallica's latest album "Death Magnetic," their upcoming induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the release of this incredibly awesome game, I'd say Metallica is back to being the biggest metal band in the world.

Over all this game may rank with Dead-Space and the original Resident Evil as one of the scariest games I have ever enjoyed!

Gameplay: 4/5 the game perfects the idea of a "real-time" inventory system, unlike many FPS's when you are outside of a safe zone (metro stations in the game), you are in a constant state of danger there is no menu to pause the game and recheck your objective or to take and overview of your weapons. Everything is done in the open so even the simple idea of looking at your compass to see where you are going or reading your journal to remember what you have to do next means you are putting your weapon down and putting out an open invitation for attack. These elements add to the suspense and tension making the game very immersive and very scary! The AI in the game is superb giving a great amount of believability and difficulty, having your flashlight on draws the attention of enemies but leaving it off will allow an enemy to sneak up on you as many times as you sneak up on them.

The only detraction I can think of to the gameplay would be that Metro 2033 was advertised as a RPG and there are very few if any RPG elements in the game; however, this is quickly forgiven and forgotten once you play the first few chapters.

Story: 5/5 I have only been able to read Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro 2033 in German as an English translation has not been released anywhere in North America and last time I checked it had not been released in Europe either. I am in not way fluent in German so while i enjoyed the book I can not be completely sure I understood the entire story and all the character development. That being said the narrative of the game is amazing the story and mystery in the game are executed perfectly and kept me interested the entire play-through.

Graphics: 4/5 the visuals are stunning especially when traveling through the surface of Moscow (or whats left of it). The use of shadows and light add to the tension in a way that only the best horror movies, games, and other entries into the genre have achieved before.

The biggest detraction would be that in most cases you don't get a chance to enjoy the environment because somethings trying to kill you. Another big negative would be the metro stations or safe zones, with few exceptions every station begins to look the same and is easily navigated.

Sound: 4/5 just like the graphics almost every sound seems to add to the experience, you will get as many startles from a gun shot or sudden roar as you will get chills down your spine from a far off scream or howl. Paranoia from an empty can being kicked far off in the distance occurs pretty frequently as well!

The downside would be the racket in the metro stations, the background noise is repetitive here and almost drowns out the important conversation you might actually want to hear.

Overall: 4/5

Pros: amazingly immersive! enthralling story, and incredibly scary!

Cons: every other thing in the safe zones.

This is a very good game. What I like is atmosphere (plently of that), story (finally something different), and gunplay that doesn't seem unfair. It gives me the feeling of Dead Space and Condemned Criminal Origins (being constanlty on edge and isolated). It is a balance of shooting anything that moves and conserving your ammo. If you get surprised, your tendency is to keep firing until it quiets down. This leads to low ammo and the fear that you will run out before your next safe zone. All you're trying to do is survive the trip from station to station.

This an old-school-type FPS for gun mechanics; not so much precision. If you are used to the mature mechanics of Bioshock, Mondern Warfare, and Halo, this game will bother you. It took me time to get used to it, but I don't mind it at all now. The gun mechanics match the feel of the game.

What appeals to me the most is that it is different. Theme, situations, locale, and style; and the different ways your items are used, hand crank light and gun and gas mask.

The game is missing the next iteration of game mechanics polish on some aspects (ie., I've seen this done better in another game). This pulls me out of the game at times, but not enough to detract from the game experience. For example, wonky AI, the barter system isn't at deep as advertised (don't generally regret not upgrading guns-ammo is so precious), and inconsitent stealth. The one thing that is consistently bothersome is that some enemies are always trying to bit off your knees, so you're always looking down and shooting (shotgun works the best here). Also, an improved melee mechanic would do wonders for this game.

This is an on-a-rail-type FPS with great set pieces and a variety of situations and not a in-your-face, run-and-gun, unlimited ammo type FPS. I would recommend this game to anyone that the game style appeals to and if you're FPS-multiplayer-hardcore (wait for used).

Greetings and thank you for reading this,

I picked up Metro 2033 on midnight release and have logged only a short time in game but I thought this may help some on the fence about it. With little time in I will keep my comments short and related to my findings.

The first thing that stuck out to me was the graphics. Now again I'm only early on in the game but when you watch the initial cutscene you can see that the graphics are a bit stale and dated. Not to say that its another "Turning Point" or "Legendary" title because there is a game underneath the graphics that is worth the time and they are a step above the above mentioned titles.

The plot is engulfing and will likely pull you in if you were a fan of Fallout 3 like I was. The polish is not on par but there is definite meat on the bone of this title and the concept of a post apocalyptic russia battered by Nuclear warfare where the citizens have moved underground and formed their own independent communities separated by tracks and blockades is strong.

You take on the character of Artyom who has been surviving now for over 20 years in his own station. There are mutants all over the tracks and the overworldcreated by the environment itself either by radiation mutation or by other more complicated reasons. A plot device that is a bit different than other similar games is that you must wear a mask when outside the confines of the underground tracks due to toxicity of the air. There is a meter that shows you the amount of air left in you tank via a watch that you must keep an eye on. This reminded me a bit of Lost Planet.

Still, I felt as if I was playing a game from about 2-3 years ago in terms of graphics. The engine is just fine though you will see definite problems with the movements of mutants and the staged events. you will also see some mapping issues and overlap. Early on there was a button contextual moment similar to Heavy Rain and I would imagine that they are adapting the GOW formula of timed button sequences. It is a first person shooter first and foremost and I would pretty much ignore the RPG undertone of reviews. It's there but minor at best. I liked the way the plot had some set pieces that you must navigate similar to Half Life 2 but again, not that quality.

Overall I will grade it as follows but I will adapt this upon further play.

Graphics7-8

gameplay7-8

story10 (for those who like the wastelands) maybe an 8 otherwise

sound 9 (pretty good ambiance)

Replayability unsure

Overall I give it an 8.5 early on.

I don't wish to write more now. Just some early impressions that may help you make a decision. Being a fan of the concept itself I'll play this one for the story itself and forgive it for its imperfectionsjust know that they are there and against a title Like GOW3 (which I also purchased) it is night and day as you might expect. I think it depends on the flavor you like. If you were jazzed up to get this one you will likely enjoy it. If you are on the fence about it I'd suggest a rental to see if it fits your needs. Thanks for your time.

Honest reviews on Metro 2033 - Xbox 360

Post apocalypse themed games have been all the rage the past few years, and now a new developer from the Ukraine (4A games) has joined the crowded genre with their linear, story driven game Metro 2033, which is based off a popular Russian book of the same name by author Dmitry Glukhovsky.

The game follows the story of an underground society taking refuge within Moscows immense subway system after the events of a terrible nuclear war decades earlier. With the air now extremely toxic and mutants roaming above, the remaining humans are forced to escape to the safety of the underground labyrinth. You are a young resistance fighter named Artyom, who was only a child when the tragedy befell humanity. Within the vast metro system, several factions of humans have managed to survive, and in addition to fighting each other, they must deal with onslaughts of horrible mutated creatures and anomalies. The most dangerous of these creatures are a species of telepathic, mutants called the "Dark Ones", whom are only briefly seen throughout the game.

The games story is never made entirely clear until near the end. "Who are the Dark Ones? What are their motives?" Sadly, none of the things that could have made Metro more compelling are elaborated on. Artyom is given instructions from fellow resistance fighters to travel to certain locations and accomplish objectives within the Metro system and meet up with others. Along the way, you're killing hordes of mutants, neo-nazi fascists, cold war communists, and various others. But despite the loose story telling, the game provides an amazing atmosphere that manages to suck you in like few other games. Witnessing the inhabitants of these stations or 'villages' go about their daily routines amidst all the chaos is intriguing. Merchants sell weapons and food; children scribble on walls and play with each other; men will sit and drink at taverns, and the sick and weary will lie in their makeshift beds waiting to die. All these things give Metro a flavor lacking in many other fps games.

A relatively small portion of the game is spent above ground, with Artyom looking for ammo, gear, and retrieving items within destroyed Moscow. While on the surface (and in toxic areas), you must wear a gas mask to breathe. The masks air filters only last for several minutes, forcing you to replace it. Filters, like ammo, can be found on dead bodies and throughout the game. You'll also have to be careful not to take too much physical damage during enemy encounters, or the masks glass will crack exposing you to the poison air.

Metro bears many similarities to other games in its genre such as Half Life, Bioshock, and fellow Ukranian developer; GSC Gameworlds S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Shadow of Chernobyl. In fact, several of the people who made this game worked on Stalker, only to leave the company a year before its release. Its influences on Metro are very evident. Though vastly different in structure (one being open world, the other linear), things such as the shooting mechanics, the post nuclear Russia theme, and even the general rough edges and glitches associated with the Stalker games have carried over. The controls are serviceable, but nothing as precise as something like Call of Duty or other modern shooters. Ammo in the world of Metro is limited, and you have to conserve your bullets. Bullets made before the great war do far more damage, and have become a valuable commodity to the citizens of Metro. You have the option of saving these to use as money to purchase other post war guns or ammo (which aren't as effective), or simply use them to survive. A lot was said about the rarity of ammo in the game, but I didn't find it to be too problematic if you searched enough. Granted, you're not going to be able to just spray every wall and enemy with a hellfire of bullets, but the game provides you with more than enough ammo to make it through on any difficulty setting.

While the guns offered are pretty neat, the weaponry isn't as diverse as you may be used to to in other shooters. The firearms consist of shotguns, revolvers, semi automatics, and a few pneumonic, crossbolt type weapons. There are also grenade like explosives, throwing knives and a machete for melee attacks. The machete is nearly useless; it's far too slow and takes too many swings to damage or kill an enemy. It's also difficult to tell when your guns are doing damage, because they seem to lack any punch when they hit their targets. The enemy a.i. can also do some extremely dumb things on occasion; like turning the wrong way and taking cover from the opposite direction during a gunfight, or not noticing their comrade standing right beside them was just killed. In general, the shooting just isn't satisfying , despite being intense and tightly focused.

There is some stealth gameplay in Metro, but like the shooting, it comes across as extremely sloppy. There are several light sources which can be shot, allowing Artyom to hide in the shadows. Your watch has a green, yellow and red light telling you if you're safe (green), in caution mode (yellow) or detected (red). But again, the wonky a.i. makes the stealth gameplay hit or miss. There doesn't seem to be any alert mode in the enemies patterns, despite the yellow light indicator on your watch. Too many times I would be shot when I thought I was safely hidden. What makes matter worse is that the checkpoints are very infrequent, and if you're killed before the beginning of these points while low on ammo, you might have to restart the entire level. A save anywhere feature would have really helped. Using the silenced weapons to avoid detection didn't seem to offer any different results. Even when one of the enemies was seperated from his group and taken down, I was spotted nearly all the time. It's sad the stealth couldn't have been better, because the games dark setting is very suited to it.

Visually, Metro is very mixed. There are certain sequences which rival those found in the best console shooters, such as the people interacting in the metro stations, the lighting effects, and the detail in the environments and clothing. Even things like the detail in your stop watch is impressive. But there are others that just as easily detract from the experience like poor , non expressive character faces and eyes, or a severe lack of detail in certain areas like the outdoor sequences. There's also several flickery shadows and textures and disappearing enemies during gunfights. Dead mutants clip through walls or vanish completely. The animations on both the humans and mutants also leaves something to be desired. Their movements are very ugly and stiff, and could have used some motion capture for more realism. The frame rate can also drop badly in heavy shootout sequences, making it barely playable. The sounds, however, are all pretty good. The guns sound solid, and the voice acting is better than most games. You even have the option of listening to the game in Russian, with English subtitles should you choose.

The game is about average in length by single player fps standards, at about 10 hours. There is no multiplayer, and sadly not a great deal of incentive for return playthroughs, unless you just want to experience the games ambiance once again. Metro 2033 is held together by its incredible atmosphere. It's a first person shooter that's weakest in one of its most fundamental elements -the shooting. Eastern European developers still have a ways to go to nail down a complete, solid fps experience. Even with its problems, Metro deserves to be played through at least once by shooter fans for the great atmosphere, and it's a pretty good first effort by 4A games.

It is difficult to discuss Metro 2033 and not think about Fallout 3, however the games share very little in common outside of a post-apocalyptic setting. Th story goes that Moscow was obliterated by a nuclear apocalypse and the survivors must endure a harsh existence underground, while renegade gangs and bloodthirsty mutants roam the areas outside the occupied tunnels. That's the meat of the story and your character is one of the fighters who must venture out into both the dark subway tunnels and the nuclear wasteland that was once Moscow. As far as settings go, this is very atmospheric and you constantly feel a sense of dread and claustrophobia as you traverse the tunnels, fighting off waves of enemies while trying to stay alive and conserve ammunition.

Metro 2033 is not your typical FPS in that it's not a strictly "run and gun" affair that you would expect from a Call of Duty game. You have options on how you want to approach a given situation, and while you can go in guns blazing, it's often better to be stealthy and pick off your enemies one at a time. Your headlamp also plays a big part in the action, since it lights the way but also leaves you vulnerable to enemy gunfire, and you must also be mindful of your gas mask and health needles, since neither are in infinite supply. Taking damage also causes your gas mask visor to crack, obstructing your vision and making it even harder to get around. Anyone looking for challenging combat will be very happy with this game. As far as exploration goes, the atmosphere makes up for fact that the game is totally linear. Unlike Fallout, this is not an open-world affair and there is little opportunity for exploration. Any such time will be spent looting bodies for ammo rather than looking for adventure off the beaten path. This is common for shooters, so I wouldn't qualify it as a weakness.

Others have mentioned problems with the graphics and linear campaign, but the only real problem I have with this game is the shooting. The hit detection on the human enemies is terrible and you'll often find that it takes a lot of ammo to gun down one opponent, which is problematic because ammunition is sometimes scarce. It is also difficult aim at enemies with any accuracy, so taking down enemies with headshots and aiming precisely to take them out quickly is not easily done here. The scarcity of the ammo is also a problem since I've often found myself facing a barrage of enemies with only my knife, which makes for a frustrating and unbalanced experience. More attention to the shooting mechanic and hit detection would have vastly improved this game.

For all it's faults, Metro 2033 is not a bad game by any stretch and fans of shooters or atmospheric survival games should find something to like here. However, the unrefined combat and unfair challenges do add plenty of frustration, so it's hard to recommend this above other titles, even newer ones like Singularity and even the Wolfenstein remake, which are better in my opinion.

I finally decided it was time to retire my old Rock Band 1 guitar, with its palsied fret buttons and slackening strum bar, so I picked this up as a replacement. I don't know if this is representative of all the Rock Band 3 guitar controllers, but if so, I think it's time to take a step back.

1. The strum bar. It clicks. I don't care if I'm in the minority, I thought the silent strum bar of RB1 was a vast improvement. But the clicking I could probably forgive if it weren't also punishingly stiff. The click threshold is way at the top and bottom of the stroke, and you must push it absolutely all the way to register. My hand was starting to ache after about 15 minutes.

2. The buttons. Why don't they go all the way to the top of the neck like the old ones? Not that it's a deal breaker or anything, but why that design choice? It's just one more thing to screw up. Again, first impressions don't lie: they hurt, too. They're stiff and unresponsive and lack that positive 'clunk' when you push down on them, so I ended up pushing a lot harder than I had to, because I wasn't sure by feel when I was pressing them right.

3. The whammy bar. God, this thing. I'm all for authenticity, but the spring is so strong it'd need to be moored to a real full-size solid wood guitar not to be awkward. It takes actual conscious effort to work it. On top of that it's huge, and it only rotates about 180 degrees, and it's so stiff (I'm seeing a pattern here) that you can't brush it out of the way like the old ones.

And whereas the parts you're actually going to use are about as durable and ergonomic as the inside of a prison, the rest is cheap. The Xbox d-pad and start button are crummy, and the fancy 'touch sensitive' overdrive pickup thing is flaky and liable to go off if you breathe on it.

Two stars for being built like a g.d. tank, which I'm sure somebody somewhere will appreciate. But after playing on this thing for half an hour, my fingers had had enough and so had I.

I'm a Rock Band freak I have 2 Strat guitars, the drum set and "pro" cymbals, the keyboard with stand, and 3 USB microphones. I wanted this Telecaster-style guitar but it was always too expensive. When the price dropped I jumped at the chance and bought it. The first one I received would not sync with my Xbox (when you pressed the sync button on the guitar, the "X-light" wouldn't spin, just flash.) Fortunately, Amazon makes it easy to exchange (just fill out a simple on-line form, and they give you a post-paid sticker to send the package back). My replacement arrived in a week and works fine.

First off, I bought the Tele in "butterscotch" with the pretend wood grain finish. I like the simulated wood grain but the color is very butterscotch-y :) I would have liked it to be a little lighter like a normal natural wood color ("blonde" as they call it in guitar catalogs).

The fretboard is great the action is buttery-smooth. The frets hinge on the left side of the neck so I think this guitar will only be good for right-handed players.

The strum bar is a bit of an issue. I don't mind the loud click (I usually crank my home theater system to "11" when I rock out) but the spring on the strum bar is very tight so it takes more effort to move it. You also have to push\pull the strum bar a further distance to get it to "click". On my Strats I've switched to using a real guitar pick (Dunlop Nylon .73mm) against the strum bar as it's easier for me to do the fast alternate picking that way. With the strum bar on the Tele it's too stiff to use the pick effectively. I may open up the guitar and see if I can adjust\replace the springs and\or move the magnetic switches in closer so that it activates easier.

The whammy bar is also very stiff and takes more effort to use it. On the plus side the whammy bar lever is tight and won't rotate down during a song like on my Strats (I'll go for a whammy and can't find the bar as it slipped down while I was playing).

The typical Start and Back buttons have been replaced by a knob and touch bar respectively. To activate the Start menu, you rotate a silver knob until it clicks (and you have to turn it fairly hard to get it to click). The back button is now a silver touch bar across the body of the guitar above the strum bar looks kind of like a "lipstick-style" pickup if you know what that is. You just touch it with your finger to activate the overdrive power or bring up the filter menu when selecting songs to play. I'm not used to using the touch bar to activate overdrive but with a little practice it may end up being better than tilting the guitar upward to activate overdrive (this method still works on this Telecaster, by the way).

Bottom line is that while it's a cool-looking guitar and has some nice features (especially the frets), the strum bar is too stiff to play fast with.

I must say I am completely sold on this players edition guitar. I am a seasoned adult rockband/guitar hero player. My friends and I get together every Thursday for our band meeting. We have tried many different post market guitars and this is the best one yet. The quality was apparent as soon as I opened the box lid. But, that was only the beginning of my satisfaction with this product. The strum bar and buttons are all tight as is the whammy bar. The overall feeling when playing is that it is more like an instrument than a toy. I have increased my scores significantly since changing from the original warriors of rock axe that I have been playing for over a year now to this madcats players edition product. I would definitely reccomend it to anyone wanting to upgrade their playing experiance.

With whammy in a very convenient place, solo buttons apart from the normal ones, plays both rock band and guitar hero + good looks, what else would you want from it?

Only downside is it needs 3 AA batteries and whammy is making a squiking noise when you use it. Not a problem though!

4.5/5 for me!

Over all I have to say this is better guitar than the one that came with Rock Band. It's slightly heavier and going into over drive is so much easier by just tapping the touch plate. The strum bar is a little stiffer which actually is seeming to help when playing notes that are close together. The wammy bar is will not end up falling down over time due to the way it is constructed.

Now for the bad. The strumbar is louder than the standard guitar and can be a little distracting at first but you do get used to it. Second the start button is much harder to use not sure if that how its designed or if the guitar I recievedis partly defective.

I recently rented this game and my expectations were very low. When I started playing i absolutly hated it. But with time and practice I began to enjoy it. The graphics are good but but not great. The charachter selection is weak (only 8) and the number of tricks is pathectic. Each rider has identical moves accept for their big trademark. The levels are very cool with a lot of hidden areas that arent immposible to get into. The one thing that will make most people hate this game is the control. This is not tony hawk so the controls are slightly different. First you mst hold down forward at all times unless jumping in a half pipe and in order to grind a rail I noticed that you have to jump with X and then quickly hit square before hitting triangle. But thats basically all there is to know once you nail this you should enjoy it i did. But i still can't wait for Tony Hawk 3.

This game is awful! If anyone is thinking "Tony Hawk" when they look at this game, think it not!!! There is no concept of motion whatsoever. Even if you are able to cancel out that annoyng announcer, you still get to put up with awful gaming and second hand punk rock. This is surely a ten minute game designed to rake in a few bucks before Hawk 3. Save your money my friends. Tony Hawk three is just around the corner. If you're not game skating with Neversoft, then apparently it isn't "skating game software".

This game is the bomb. I got this game and it was raising the roof. You can use 8 different skateboarders. With the sponsors such as DC, Es, The NEW deal, World Industries, Bones and RDS. everyone should get this game. You can also do the real X-Games. Vert pipe and Park. Then in arcade mode. Just ride around and do grind, manuals and kickflips. The Passenger Liner is the best level to me. This game is just rocking.

Honest reviews on ESPN X Games: Skateboarding

ESOB X-games Skateboarding is surprisingly good, but overly arcade like physics and confirming camera angles keep it out of Tony's neighborhood. It's something you may not consider, but a smooth, wide panning camera is essential to the vert ramp experience. ESPN's topdown perspective cheats you out of admiring your incredible hang times... too bad. A few other thing bother me as well,. The lack of splitscreen play it uses a turn based system and the inability to link ground tricks put the game at a disadvantage. At the same time, you haven't experienced big air until you've tried this pup. No jokeon the vert ramps you literally float for 2-3 seconds a pop. Excessive? Yes. But it lets you trick it up like the Hawkman on steroids. Speaking of tricks, the interface is similar to THPS if not easier, in fact, you can button smash and still wrack up big scores. Special moves are trickier but look fantastic especially the christ-air and the more involved super move, the Mctwist. Another strong point is the Arcade License mode. It's great fun exploring the vast urban and suburban environments, collecting icons, knocking down fire hydrants and, in general, causing mayhem. Despite its flaws, this title has spunk. A decent selection of pipes, pro skaters, plus real and fantasy courses assure you'll be hooked for the long haul. Keep an open mind about this one. You may be surprised how much you like it.

I should've known this game would stink. I've played Grind Session, Thrasher, Andy Mac, & now this & they're all terrible!

First of all, the graphics aren't that good. Skaters with trademarks are recognizable (ie, Bob's glasses or Chad's afro) but the rest are impossible to tell apart. Kerry Getz looks like a bum in skate clothes! And all these "high definition" graphics cause the game to slow sporadically, which gets really irritating.

Second, the gameplay is infuriating. Half the times you try to do a grab trick you end up doing nothing. I'd sit there hitting the buttons numerous times while my skater simply did an ollie off the ramp. And good luck trying to spin anything. The only way for you to spin is to hit the switch stance button, which would be fine if your skater was consistent in their airs. But it's impossible to tell whether you're gonna do a 180 air or an air to fakie so that throws off your rotation. Balancing grinds on ledges & rails is ridiculously hard. You'll be holding the direction pad down for a good 3 seconds before you even notice that your skater is moving, but a lotta times you fall anyways.

Third, the game objectives aren't explained at all. In Tony Hawk, the objective says "Wallride the bell". In this game, it says "Crash license", but you hafta guess whether you're wallriding or knocking something over or just running into it; you spend half the time just figuring out what you're supposed to do.

Lastly, this may seem trivial to video gamers but it's important to skaters; the trick terminology is way off. This is a problem I've had with ESPN for a long time, even on their website they name tricks all wrong. They call a varial a backside kickflip! It's like none of the skaters got asked whether the game was right or not. What is a disaster slide? Skaters call 'em lipslides. And a pop heel? That's a heelflip varial. The K-grind (aka crooked grind) looks like a noseslide. Here's the clincher, they call a 360 flip a 360 kickflip. These are 2 completely separate moves, it's not even wrong naming. A 360 flip is when the board does a 360 popshuvit with a kickflip. A 360 kickflip is when you spin a 360 & do a kickflip.

I feel sorry for Bob Burnquist; he thought leaving Tony Hawk's game & getting his own would more lucrative for him. He couldn't have been more wrong. If you absolutely must play this game don't buy it, rent it. That's what I did & I'm still upset about it. But if you can hold out, wait for Hawk 3; the Tony Hawk series has yet to disappoint.

This game has very good graphics and a great story line. The environment is 3D and very nice. I do believe that it would have been better as a first person shooter game like Halo. However, the game is still worth buying. You may find, as I did that the controls seem extremely hard. I almost gave up on the game because of the difficulty of the controls. Hang in there and eventually you will get used to them. The save points are also a little far apart, so you may find yourself having to replay parts time and time again. Even so, this game is a lot of fun to play and worth the money.

The first few times I sat down to play this game I got a bit frustrated and didn't play for long. It was tough to get used to the game play style of the game. But finally one time I really s at down and got the hang of it and the game got awesome. I love the story! The visuals are stunning and the spell look incredibly. You'll be itchoing to find th enxt spell or level up for a current spell. Imsut say the light spels are my fav. One key to game play is getting the hang of quickly switching between spells. Once you get used to the controls you'll find them nicely laid out.

My only other criticism is that because of how the spells work the final boss is rather easy to defeat.

But all in all I really enjoyed the game. You nee dto tottaly explore each level beacsue themor eyou power up the more fun the game becomes. The story kept me enthralled and coming back for more. The bosses in general we're challenging and increased nicley in difficulty.

In the few erros I did have trouble with I found myself only getting determined to kill the badies rather than getting bored. Another thing to keep in mind is that their are limited saving locations so you've got to know when to save and when to "save" the saving point for later.

All in all I LOVED this game and highly recommend it. I hpe VR1 continues the Nighcaster story as it left me itching for more as well.

if your a fan of magic and/or gauntlet you will love this game. It has a great flow and interesting attack system, I only rented but it could be a game I buy in the near future for it was fun to play and not just a simple hack and slash game, also there is a complex story behind and learning it will become a challenge in itself. Great gameplay and graphics, very enjoyable for the right kind of fan.

Recommended. "Project SnowBlind" is a cool Xbox Live game, but hardly anybody is ever online to play it! That's a real shame because this game has a lot of weapons & features that make it fun & interesting. You can even set up clans to play the usual shooters events like capture the flag & deathmatch, etc. There is downloadable content available too. Good graphics & many different vehicles add to "SnowBlinds'" replayability factor. The single player mission is okay, giving you many possible approaches to solving a mission or killing enemies. This title is surely trying to measure itself up against the "Halo" franchise, which is good for us as gamers.

This was the most fun game I've played in a while. The best part of this game is the ridiculous amount of weapons and gadgets. There are so many that you have to remind yourself to use them all. I kept falling in love with one gun and forgetting about the other ones. They're all good but some are more versatile. This game has the best "gun sounds" that I've ever heard. When you shoot a shotgun it sounds like a real gun and when the shell casing hits the floor it sounds like a real buckshot casing hitting the floor. Every gun shoots and sounds different. I love that attention to detail. I know people will get pissed but I had more fun playing this than HALO 2. I hardly ever died and the enemies weren't invincible FLOOD-creatures that get back up after you already shot the crap out of them. There were a few drawbacks to the game, though. There aren't any pre-set levels, so you'll have to make multiple save points if you want to go back to a fun part of the game. There aren't many vehicles(2) and they sucked to drive. You might as well walk. Also, the graphics don't break any new ground, but they don't detract from overall gameplay. This game could have been 5 stars with a few fixes to it. BOTTOM LINE: If you are a fan of FPS-type games, then you have to play this one. There's not much replay value b/c you can't just jump back to a favorite level (like in HALO 1,2) but I definitely recommend renting this A.S.A.P.

"Project Snowblind" began life as a title that would exist in the same universe of the "Deus Ex" games (in fact, the early title was "Deus Ex: Clan Wars") but evolved into its own game outside the Deus Ex universe, although if you've played the "Deus Ex" series, there will be much to remind you of Ion Storm's superb cyber-punk thriller.

The player takes on the role of Lt. Nathan Frost, a soldier serving as part of an international peacekeeping force in late 21-century Hong Kong. Like JC Denton of "Deus Ex," Frost is a cyber-soldier, outfitted with "bio augmentations" that grant him abilities such as super-reflexes, night vision, and cloaking to make him temporarily invisible.

The plot is pretty standard FPS fare, as Frost and his team have to hunt out a super weapon before it destroys the world.

The single-player missions involve a lot of running and gunning, but the game design allows the player (somewhat) to tackle obstacles in different ways, whether you want to use your cloak to sneak onto an enemy outpost or run in guns blazing. There are many weapons to use and even some vehicles to drive. Expect about ten hours of play. Multiplayer over Xbox Live or system link again is pretty standard FPS, such as capture the flag and deathmatch.

While not the most graphically impressive Xbox title, the game world is nicely rendered. The textures aren't the sharpest, but the game employs some good lighting and particle effects. Music and sound effects are pretty good and sound great in 5.1 Dolby Digital. The voice acting is also good, for the most part.

"Project Snowblind" isn't the best Xbox shooter, but it is a very entertaining, fast-paced ride.

Honest reviews on Project Snowblind - Xbox

This one just blew me away. I can't believe how much this game offers. Cars to run people over with! Mechs to blast people with! Rail guns! and just the way you use them... so cool, and then you get a shield like where you can't die if they shoot you. Plus there's this thing where you if you die, you get brought back to life. Sooo awesome.

This is the game everyone should get for whatever system. It's that good!

After going through Project: SNOWBLIND for awhile I have to say this is one of the most exciting shooters I have ever played. The maps are HUGE, the different ways you can play through each mission seem almost endless. The game is also really nice to look at. I purchased this one for the Single player mostly and it just really blows me away. The powers are also dazzling in terms of special effects. The cutscenes are also absolutely amazing, they set the game perfectly and also pace you perfectly as well. A not miss title!
