Review of Duke Nukem

I love Duke Nukem from PC and Playstation. While I must admit this game is fun it can in no way live up to the other system versions. I missed alot of the sick jokes that make Nukem games so fun. Like after you shoot a pig with a rocket launcher, Duke would say something like "Mmmm I smell bacon". Stuff like that. Still it's worth it.

Its not terribel just nothing special. Its graphics are bad but everything moves smoothly and unlike alot of gb games you can save your game. You just walk, find keys and shoot aliens. they guys bleed, just not alot. Sometimes they break in halk or there arms come off. Over all its good if you need dn portable.

I came into the game with high expectations, and I can't say that I was dissapointed. The game was actually one of the better games on the GBC during it's time of release, but now...

GRAPHICSBloody, Duke will walk no more than 5 feet and see blood all over the wall, not that that is a bad thing. Now I have to admitt that the detail is really nice and colorful, but Duke himself is rather bland. Oh and the cut scenes are awsome!

SOUNDThe shotgun sounds great, but as unfortunate as it is, every weapon after that sounds exactly the same. On a positive note, the game does have an impressive soundtrack.

GAMEPLAYThis is where the game wrecks everything that it otherwise had going for it. Slow movement, fast bullets, almost impossible to dodge. The game runs in five simple steps.

1.shoot

2.see the awsome blood effects

3.get shot

4.find health

5.repeat

In conclusion, the game is good, you just know how to work with it, but most players will find this a frustrating, hit and run miss.
