In 2011 there was a game that was introduced to everyone on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC which put you on an island paradise. The only problem with this paradise is that it was overrun with the hordes of the undead and the only thing they want to do is eat your flesh. The game was called Dead Island and as you have escaped the terrors of the island of Banoi you might be facing new ones in the sequel entitled Dead Island: Riptide. But is this a paradise that you want to go to or should you change your plans?
The characters that you can play as have been increased to five as you still have a chance to play as Logan (an expert with thrown weapons), Sam B (who knows how to use blunt weapons), Xian Mei (skilled with all edged weapons) and Purna (an expert marksman). The newest character is John Morgan who is a martial arts expert and is the best at hand to hand combat. So with this new character does this mean that you don't have to constantly scavenge for weapons that break all the time? Well the folks over at Deep Silver heard peoples complaints and have made weapons more durable this time around. Also firearms are going to be available a lot sooner and you are going to need them this time around as it looks to be a harder game.
Not only are you going to have to contend with the old zombies that were in the first game but there are new zombies that are introduced in this installment. Wrestlers can attack you with a spiked club and knock you to the ground, Grenadiers can throw grenades at you and Drowners will lie in wait in some of the levels to try and subdue you. The elements are also going to play a part in this game as there are some levels that are going to be completely flooded and others that are going to be soaked in a downpour.
Another interesting part about this game is that you can continue on where you left off! If you have a save from the original Dead Island you can continue from that point on as it saves your character's data. You would have an advantage as you would be playing with a character is buffed instead of one starting out from scratch. And you can play the campaign either single player or co-op with a few friends.
If you are a fan of the Dead Island games or zombie games in general then you need to get this game as it looks as if they took the original game and improved upon it.

IF you liked the first one think of this as a longer expansion... a few new additions to your controls, items etc. but your getting the same gameplay.what is kind of a bother, is a few glitchy or laggy situations. once the sound cut out and wouldn't go back on till i turned on the system which never happens. and a second time the water caused some lagg only if you were looking straight at it with zombies present.
overall good as the first
