It's a no brainer this is a required add-on if you have a detached gear box (G25 and G27). Nice consideration for both left and right hand side. Adjustments to front/back, inside/outside are adequate. I do wish there is adjustment for height though.

UPDATE: My kids (4 and 7 years old) like to sit in my playseat, and sometimes ON the gearbox! The thing hold up pretty well. For clarification, I have a G25 and the review is on installing G25 gearbox. I don't know how G27 setup is different, but it's definitely a must have...

First, it's a rock solid attachment to the Playseats Evolution chair! Second, if you've got the Logitech G25, this is a must! The pictures from Logitech make it look like the shifter can be attached to the steering wheel, but it can not!

Installation is very simple but, do yourself a favor and buy this thing with the chair and install it while you're putting the chair together. It will save you from a two (different sized) bolt removal later!

The kit includes braces for both sides of the chair, let and right operations. I'd recommend to anyone to install both of them1 First is adds support for those players who want to move the shifter to the other side of the seat; but, the brace also adds additional support to the seat itself.

If you are mouting the shifter for the Logitech G25, the large center mounting pin assembly must be removed or else it won't fit on the mount. To do this, there are four (undocumented) screwes that have to be removed (2 long and 2 short) and the entire plastic thumbscrew assembly comes off and leaves you with a clean mounting shifter!

There are two thumbscrews included for adjustment and there are two include hex bolts to mount the shifter with.

Nice. Solid. A bit pricey. A must if you're a serious racer!

If you have a Logitech G25 racing wheel and you are tired of having your gearshift box hanging around, you need this.

You can mount it left or right (comes with 2 mounts) and you can adjust it on both x&y axis (no height adjustment). It fits well for kids and adults using the same seat.

Honest reviews on Playseat Gearshift Holder Mount (Silver)

I bought this gearshift holder to attached my Logitech G27 shifter to my Playseat Evolution Gaming Seat. It came with all the requires parts and good instructions. It has a few adjustments that make finding the perfect fit/feel really easy. It comes with screws to mount the shifter directly to it, for a really secure fit. The only surprise was that you had to remove the mounting clamps from the shifter in order to fit it on the holder (not explained in the instructions), and required a long small screw driver which I luckily had.

If you own the Logitech G25 you really want this gearshift holder. It installs easily and is positioned very nicely. It's sold and adjusts easily. I wish I could slide back just a little more, but it's OK as it is. I definitely recommend it. BTW, it mounts either on the left or right side, so UK/Oz drivers will feel at home, too.

If you have a racing wheel without a gear shift, you don't need it obviously.

Bleach Soul Resurreccion is America's first Sony developed Bleach game. Although we have not received many of the PSP ones, Bleach Soul Resurreccion is a great first entry for the franchise on this system. Rather than being a fully fledged fighter type game, it takes the established hack and slash formula but adds a bit of the good ole Bleach flair to it. What this created was a fun yet extremely short story experience that highlighted 14 key moments of the arc in the franchise with some narration that was heightened by the fact that we could play through these moments. Ultimately, it was enjoyable.

The real joy of the game comes from over 25 different missions that can be played by a majority of the games 21 member cast. Missions can vary between defeating 100 soul reapers, to being handicapped by not being able to jump. It is here that I have to replay and build my characters level to take on opponents in three different difficulty modes to be able to unlock more soul points (utilized for raising the characters level and growth, up to lvl 175) to have character gain new abilities and better states. What is the price, perhaps gratification and being able to complete numerous trophies. This game prides itself on replayability and because of the Bleach franchise and playing as Rukia, Hitsugaya in his bankai state, Byakuya, Ichigo in his bankai state, Grimmjow, and others, it wont get old for a long time. The story mode took me naught but six or so hours, while missions mode is taking me quite a long time. In addition to missions mode there are character figures to collect, with voice clips, which is a nice touch.

Graphically the game looks great via its manner that emulates the anime. The opening animation appears to be a different take on various scenes on the anime and looks great. Attacks in the game are flashy and gorgeous. It never gets old seeing them. There are numerous attacks for the characters, close to six or more for some of them that all look true to the anime as well. This adds variety for the controls on top of being stacked on simple combination attacks and skills that can be chained together for combinations. I have been able to chain numerous combos to try to get to 2000, which is possible.

The game allows one to play in both English dialogue and Japanese dialogue, music is the traditional rock type for this genre of gameplay and some songs are pretty addictive and nice while others are just fitting. Characters that are not part of the playable 21 still appear during the game and chime in to talk to your main character and often sometimes its fitting, hilarious, or just true to the anime counterpart.

The only faults of the game is that the storyline is short, varying degrees among fans about the fights in question (anyone can argue for or against the importance of the ones shown), no online multiplayer or co-op (considering Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, a game in the same genre has it, it is a baffling omission), no anime cutscenes (it would have made it nice to have considering this is based on the anime, however the cutscenes it does offer using the games visuals are nice), and lastly, the games story could have been told in a way that would help newcomers to Bleach take part, the way it is told through narration using the same Voice Actor as the anime, it drops names with no faces to many characters it refers too and the story and is a rather brief overview leaving out some details. However, if one is experiencing Bleach for the first time, it provides enough background that they can understand what is happening, and maybe, check out the anime once they finish the game.

All in all, this game is definitely worth it and a great use of the Bleach license. I love playing as Ichigo, Uryu, Rukia and other characters, and the fact that there is mission mode, which also incorporates something from the as yet to be released in America, Hell Arc character, there is fun to be had. Definitely check it out if you are a Bleach fan, as one wouldnt want to miss this.

Let's start off with what they did right, shall we?

The Good:

They did a good job at making you feel like you're a kick butt Bleach character in powered up mode--all of the enemies die relatively easily. This can be a bad thing as well, but a simple difficulty increase fixes that problem. There is lots of replay value (assuming it doesn't bother you that the side quests outnumber the main storyline content in orders of magnitude) that will keep you busy and upgrading your characters for quite some time. They did a decent job at making all the characters have different strengths, and mostly different attacks. Hell, they even threw in unlockable guys gated behind the last sidequests, which will give you something to aim for.

The Bad:

This game just FEELS like it should have been a fighter, and not an action/RPG. There is very little story, and it skips large segments of the Bleach storyline to the point where it is basically spoiling the story for you if you haven't yet read/watched that far in the manga/anime. It even implies that certain characters beat certain bosses, where in the manga they simply fought (and the battle didn't neccessarily come to the conclusion you would think). The game doesn't explain how you went from point A to point B a lot of times (especially near the end), but again, that ties in with the lack of a cohesive story. As I alluded to earlier, the main story is EXTREMELY short. By that, I mean I beat it in a single morning--and this was with breaks to play the mission mode (the sidequest/repeatable missions I spoke of earlier).

And that's pretty much it. If you are reading my review and think it sounds really negative...well, I guess it kind of is. BUT, this isn't to say I don't think it's worth a playthrough (assuming you already know the storyline--don't spoil it for yourself) because it is. If you're a big Bleach fan (and love hack and slash action games) I'd even go so far as to say buy it. Maybe not at it's current $60 price tag, but you can decide on what your money is worth. They could have done so much more with this game, but I think it's worth spending some money on, if only to let developers know that you'd like a better version of this in the future.

The game may be a hack-n-slash game that gets repetitive after a few hours, but bleach fans would agree that the smoothness and appearance of the game make it worth having for the PS3. Cel-shaded anime games never looked so good and the voice actors are the same as in the show (i play in japanese though so i dunno about the english voices).

Of course, there are things that could be better, like more characters, more diverse power system (i.e. start in shikai then advance to bankai using the power meter thing they put in or something like that), and a longer story (14 episodes is really short... took like an hour or 2 to beat.... why couldn't they have started form the beginning of the story like other anime games do?, but the stuff that's in there is good. Characters are different enough that you won't get bored for a while (and some characters are just ridiculous...) and the graphics and combat system help keep you entertained (dynasty warrior fans know what i'm talking about for the combat thing). And there are a bunch of trophies for people who care about that stuff.

Overall, this game is a great start to bleach games on PS3. I hope they keep them coming!

Honest reviews on Bleach: Soul Resurreccion - Playstation 3

First off if you only watch the english dubbed episodes do not play this game it will spoil the rest of the series for you. Dont get me wrong i am extremely happy this game was released over here but considering how much this game covers its surprising that it was released. i mean we are on episode 200+ over here while this game covers 300+ episodes over in japan even the 4th movie(the 3rd movie has not been released here it comes out in november), so like i said if you dont want the series spoiled do not play this game. For me and others like me who have watched the japanese shows with english writing get this game. its a great game its hack and slash and you can level up your characters. it covers all the important battles in the show. the only complaint i have is that all the characters have the same attacks just a lil different. there is alot of replay lots of modes. overall its a fun game and must own for bleach fans. Sorry about the review its just a quickie so no comments about how the review is written please :)

I'm sure most of the people who will buy this game are Bleach fans. Most of us have been waiting for a good Bleach game on PS3 for a while. We now have our wish with Bleach: Soul Resurreccion. I will say that if you're not a fan of hack and slash games then you probably won't like this game even if you're a bleach fan. I understand why some of the reviewers have called this game repetitive but I honestly don't get that feeling. There are several missions to unlock, story mode, and other challenges as well. Add in the fact that you can play with multiple characters on multiple difficulties (you start with normal and hard but unlock very hard as well). Also, I will agree this game has a Dynasty Warriors "feel" but it is certainly not a Dynasty Warriors clone. My only gripe with this game is the fact that they left out some of my favorite characters (although I'm hoping they're just saving them for the next Bleach game). So my final pitch for this game is simple. If you like Hack & Slash games give this game a try. If you don't like Hack & Slash games then don't buy it. If you like Hack & Slash AND Bleach then this is a must buy.

Flight sims are so few and far between these days that I was really excited to get my hands on this game. Truth be told, it's not "bad", but I was expecting a lot more. I'm a huge fan of of Sturmovik and Birds of Steel and I was expecting this game to at least be on par with those considering they are 3 and 2 years old respectively, but Damage Inc. fell short of both of those games in pretty much every way. Although the framerate is decent, the graphics are lackluster and unpolished (just a little anti-aliasing could've gone a long way). The controls are somewhat awkward and I found it frustrating that in order to change views while flying, you actually have to pause the game and select a different view from a menu versus just pushing a button mid-flight. The sound quality was decent, but the voice acting did get on my nerves, although this was also often the case with some of the missions in Sturmovik. In closing, this game is passable, but after a few hours, I turned it off and put Sturmovik back in since I consider it to be superior to this game in every way. Red Box this game if you can and if you find yourself liking it, then make the investment to buy.

i have gotten this game in mail and the gameplay is a lot of fun, especially when you unlock planes like the P-38 Lightning and the F4U Corsair. and in the game, you get unlimited ammo too. sadly, not unlimited armor though which is a bummer. but, other than that, it's pretty cool and also, this game has a mode called Reflex Mode that allows you to slow things down and get in a better shot. the questionable part though is that sometimes, the game will go haywire and either freeze up or not fully show up ( i.e. things missing in the level) and also, they do say the GD word at least once ( any Christians or Catholics will know what that means). but, overall, the game is a lot of fun.

This game does have a couple of bugs that will freeze the consol. and sometimes when your doing a recon mission you can fly threw mountains which if you like real well this might displease you. this was the only game to ever freeze my playstation.

Review of Dead Rising - Xbox 360

Dead Rising - Xbox 360
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
Although I prefer FPS (first person shooters) to the 3rd person adventure games, I loved the latest installments of the Lara Croft and the Hitman series games. As of this writing, I have completed Dead Rising in the 72 hour mode and am now replaying the game to try to earn all of the achievements.

Dead Rising is a brand-new genre for the Xbox 360. It's closest cousin is Condemned, a first person horror adventure game but Dead Rising has a number of unique features that set it apart. First off, you can pick up just about anything in the area and use it as a weapon. Potted plants, lawnmowers and even an electric guitar are all at your disposal. There are easily hundreds of potential weapons in this game and part of the fun is discovering new ways to fight off zombies with what you have available at hand.

Adding to the distinct style of Dead Rising is the ability to customize your character. As you make your way through the mall, you can try on new clothing available from the various shops. Cool suits, fashionable glasses and, yes, even women's and children's apparel is fair game to put on. Besides wearing it as you battle the zombies, your character will also appear as you have dressed him during the video cut-scenes, which is a nice extra touch I was delighted to see. Food has also been given special "abilities" in the game. For example, you might find a frozen or raw food somewhere in the mall. If you eat it, you earn one or two points of health. But pop it into an oven before you eat it, and it will completely fill your health meter. Likewise, you can mix certain fluids in a blender can make an extra powerful energy drink!

If you can't tell by everything I've already mentioned, this game is deep. I've only touched the surface to avoid revealing any spoilers, but trust me when I say you can get totally wrapped up in this game. The plot, the game and every little thing (be sure to check out the bookstore!) in the vast mall has been developed with so much detail that you'll find yourself enthralled by it.

However, when undertaking such an ambitious project, there have to be some downfalls. The absolutely worst is the save game methodology. The developers have decided that you must find a restroom or a couch to save. While this seemed cute and clever at first, it quickly became frustrating and enraging (when you couldn't find one right before you got forced into a boss fight). Every player on the planet will find this feature problematic, I guarantee.

One thing that other reviewers haven't mentioned is that some of the level bosses (called "Psychopaths") are redundant or unfairly matched. For example, often you'll be faced with enemies with devastating long-range weapons when all you have is a knife or 2x4 to try and knock out your opponent with. In another boss attack, I literally started at a save point and had to go through two full levels to face a boss who would inevitably defeat me and then I'd have to start all over again. These opponents often have a move that will completely incapacitate you in a single swipe, even when you have full health. This, combined with the fact that you will often have to run halfway across the map (where your last game save was) to repeat the battle, makes the game incredibly annoying. If you could ammo up, then save right before the boss battle, the game would be considerably more enjoyable.

Another item, although mentioned by others in a different light, is the text-based mission objectives. Many reviewers have stated that the text is almost unreadable on smaller, standard definition televisions. However, my biggest complaint in this area is that the text is used at all. This game, by its very nature, is immersive. When you're trapped in a mall and having to fight zillions of zombies, you shouldn't have to stop to read the text of another character. I honestly wish Capcom had spent a little extra time and money to change all of the text interactions to spoken instructions. Not only would this have solved their biggest technical problem with the game, it would have also helped keep the suspense.

Finally, there's a lot of "load-screen-itis" in this game. And by that, I mean that you'll be seeing a lot of the loading screen. Granted, the mall is a huge environment, and the load times are a snappy 5-6 seconds, but it gets annoying when you walk into an elevator and wait, walk down a hallway and wait, turn left and wait... You get the picture.

There is no online component to allow multiplayer (which would be awesome!) but Dead Rising does have downloadable content from Xbox Live. It was available just days after the game released and consists of eight "keys" which unlock several new outfits for the main character, available at no charge. As you'd expect, the game also supports Xbox Achievements, with 50 of them to earn, each worth 20 Gamerscore points. You'll have to spend hundreds (if not thousands!) of hours in this game trying to obtain all of these objectives and I don't consider many of them a "walk in the park."

Honestly, it seems like I'm spending a lot of time picking on the problems of this game, but they will plague you as you try to play through the levels. But when it comes right down to it, this game has all 5 "Es" that make it a powerhouse: Exciting plot, Engaging environments, Enlightening characters, 360 Exclusivity and Encredible customization! (OK, that last one wasn't an "E" but you'll have to forgive me, just like you'll have to forgive certain flaws in this game!) In short, you should definitely pick this game up, but love it for everything it accomplishes while forgiving it for the technical problems that it has. I give it a solid 5 stars for fun, but a 3 star rating for the inherent problems.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Expectations can basically make or break this game. The problem I had w/ it and I think most others do is the fact we wanted to freely roam the mall while killing off as many zombies as we wanted with all the cool weapons avaliable. There would be a story to follow, but not in the annoying way it was implemented.

What CAPCOM delivered is slighly different from what most expected. The game takes place over 3 days, and within those 3 days you have to follow the game's main storyline within set time limits. Let clarify on that... you MUST get to certain story events within a certain time or you will loose out on the main story of the game. Side quests are avaliable, but you must pick and choose a few to do here and there because if you spend too much time on them, you will end up missing the main story. The game is made in such a way to MAKE you replay it two or three times atleast if you want to explore all the side quests and try to find all the cool weapons and things to see.

The issue with saving the game goes right along with the above... the developer didnt want you to be able to have multisaves and say take a different path or what not... they limited you to ONE save per XBOX360 profile. Everytime you save, you overwrite the last save. No other option. You can only save at the bathrooms and the safehouse. There is usually one save spot near each area, but it makes it a pain to save your progress.

Escort missings are a pain aswell as the people you try to save are extremly stupid. They try to fight zombies (and usually loose) and take forever to get where you call them to. You have to call for them over and over to try to direct them to safety.. again not so much fun.

The above reasons make you feel like the game is somewhat "job" like as it forces you to adhere to these requirements it has forcefully. It takes the edge off what could have been a five star game.

Why is the game still great? Well, it's extremly fun to go around killing zombies w/ just about everything you find along the mall stores (hedge clippers, chainsaws, bats, purses, etc..) and the game runs fast and smooth w/ nice looking visuals. Going around killing batches after batches of zombies just doesn't get old! Facial expressions look great and the zombie/weapon/voice sounds are perfect for the game. The voice acting great too IMO... its a shame that the few people you see in the game dont talk, you simply recieve subtitles for them.

I think the demo of the game also lead people to believe the game would be more free roaming that it actually is (fooled me) and that also plays a part in the initial dissapointment many are experiencing. Once you get over the fact that the you tied down by the clock and the subpar save system, you will enjoy the game though! Recommended!

Best Deals for Dead Rising - Xbox 360

Well, I have been enjoying Dead Rising for a week now and I can't honestly think of a game out there that is more fun than this one. While I do agree with everone else that the small font puts a damper on the mood, I have just learned to move on with it. I can read it but it is tough on the old eyes. I have a standard def 36" WEGA and while it is small, it is legible. I will try it on my parents 61" Hidef this weekend to see any difference. I can only imagine what the graphics look like if they look this great on my standard def TV.

This game is very deep. The save feature is disappointing and you will find that you will learn to constantly bring up the map to check for save points. After you play for a hour or more and die and have to replay through it, you quickly learn. Another thing I don't care for is having to restart the game if you miss a "scoop" and it throws the rest of the game out. You can still play and do the missions, atleast for a while but you can no longer find the truth. This happened to me twice. The first time, I just plain didn't realize that it would happen and did not do the scoop missions in a timely manner. The second time I played through it, I thought I was doing great time and kept checking the watch (another feature you learn to do quite often) and when it said my next mission would begin at 3:00, I noticed that when it turned to 4:00, the missions ended and once again I lost the remainder of the scoop missions. Learn to watch the scoop timelines. They will slowly count down and turn colors to warn you. I guess I just had too much fun whacking zombies and lost track of the in game time.

The depth of this game comes from the many ways in which to dispose of zombies. You can pretty much use ANYTHING in the game to take them out. One spot had me pick up a power auger, which is used to dig post holes. I stuck a zombie and cranked the gas and watched him spin around. Then, I proceeded to walk through the crowd of zombies and take them out. In the process of this, the zombie spinning on my auger started to break apart. This was a great laugh. Again, you can use pretty much everything in the game and while most do eventually tear up, you can always find something else. Another fun part was walking to the other end of the mall through the Leisure Park and seeing a push mower/brushhog and mowing down the crowd of zombies.

I was completely impressed with the graphics of this game. While the zombies do tend to look a lot alike, the environment is just gorgeous. Capcom did a great job to put so many of the zombies onscreen at once. Later through the game, you will encounter bosses that can be difficult to beat. Just be sure to save before you fight a boss, although the first time around it is hard because you don't know when you will fight a boss. You enter a store and then wham, you have a boss fight. As you play through the game, you are encouraged to take pictures and help escort people to the security room, which is basically your home base. You will see that if you can capture pictures that pick up on drama or horror or even erotica, among others, will get you more points and these points along with the points for saving people will get you to level up which will help you increase your life or the amount of things you can carry or unlock special moves.

This is definitely not a game for the younger crowd as it is very gory. I think Capcom has a hit on their hands and hopefully they can work it into a sequel in some way with improvements to the aforementioned bumps but hopefully they will get a patch over Live to help correct the text problems. Most of the time during the normal text there is not much voice over work. During the cutscenes, which are nicely animated, there is no problem as their is good voice over acting, incredible good when compared to the Resident Evil series. You won't go wrong with this game. It is a great game to enjoy so long as you are old enough to understand that things that you can do in the game can't be done in real life. As dumb as that sounds, there are those out there who might want to recreate something they did in the game.

Enjoy this game and know that you will die often and have to repeat things over again but for the majority, it isn't a problem as things aren't often the same way the second time around, except for cutscenes of course. That is another great thing about this game, the repayability is incredibly deep. Forgive the text, the dumb AI and the lousy save functions and enjoy the game for what it got right.

Honest reviews on Dead Rising - Xbox 360

I'm going to get straight to the point. This game rocks, but has a few SEVERE flaws. Really dissapointing becuase this COULD have been the greatest game ever made. Unfortunately, it falls short, yet i still recomend it. I'm sure you are reading a lot of negative press, maybe even a lot of positive too. So if you are trying to decide what to do, my opinion is despite all the problems, this is a must have game if...

You like zombies (games, movies, etc)

you like the resident evil series

you want a fun game that will last you a long time

Really, there is a lot of good, but i will actually cover the bad, i'm sure none of this will be new judging by other reviews but here we go!

The VERY bad....

1) Saves...???? what were they thinking? ONE spot? Come on, it's not a cartridge game for crying out loud! I don't want to start over and over and OVER again because the bosses are insanely hard.

2) THAT STUPID CELL PHONE DOESN"T STOP RINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and it won't either until you answer it, THEIR IS NO HOPE SO JUST GIVE IN AND DO IT OR ELSE IT NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER stops ringing. I wish you could just kill otis and feed him to the zombies and keep ringing his phone while they eat him, see how he likes it. That is BY FAR the MOST ANNOYING aspect of the game, BY FAR

3) The people you have to rescue are RETARDED! They DO NOT follow commands and it is EXTREMELY frustrating having to continuosly backtrack to rescure them from a swarm of zombies only to have the other person you are trying to rescue die because of it. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!

Why are they so stupid? Take my advice, never try to rescue more than 2 people at once. Forget it, just leave them to be zombie food. It's not worth it!

4) I'm not wearing a telescope on my head, I am not a human magnifying lens, and I don't own a TV as big as a house so WHAT GIVES WITH THE SMALL SUBTITLES? Would it have killed you to spend five extra seconds working on it? This is a 360 not a NES, why not just have the characters voice it out? It's SUPPOSED to be a next generation game isn't it?

5)Aiming with a handgun, or any gun for that matter...UNFORGIVABLE. What happened to the resdient evil auto aim?

Despite these MAJOR flaws, which I guarantee will SEVERLY upset you and bring the overall experience down, I still highly recomend this game. It was my first 360 game and even though it needs work I love it.

I'm sure with capcom this game was a "test run" for a new resident evil, but if you make a sequal PLEASE GET RID OF THAT STUPID PHONE, and be kind enough to fix the flaws. Remember, the consumer who buys this pays YOUR salary, so have a little consideration

Now go out and get this game, don't be scared because of the flaws. You may end up liking it after all, I did. Still makes me mad though. ALMOST PERFECT!

To paraphrase a Marine Corps saying: "Killing zombies is easy and fun". At least, it is when you're playing "Dead Rising", the latest zombie title from Capcom.

But let me clarify the above point a bit. When I say "easy", I'm talking about dealing with individual zombies or small groups of them. As one character tells you in the beginning, "The good news is, zombies are slow and stupid!" The bad news is that what the shuffling undead lack in speed and smarts, they make up for in sheer numbers. Dealing with one zombie is easy, dealing with 20 is a whole other matter.

"Dead Rising" puts you in the shoes of Frank West, a freelance photographer who gets wind of something going down in the secluded Colorado town of Willamette. After bypassing military roadblocks by hiring a helicopter to ferry you in, you touch down at the local mall to investigate.

The early stage of the game is peppered with quite a few cutscenes, but they are surprisingly engaging and set up an intriguing storyline. The character models are alarmingly realistic, right down to those wispy hairs women have on their cheeks, but there are quite a few uncanny valley moments.

As Frank explores the mall, you will discover vast array of zombie-killing implements, each with their own unique effects. In just an hour or so of play last night, I used a lead pipe, a 2x4, a baseball bat, a golf club, a cleaver, a sickle, and a pistol. The sickle was particularly satisfying. After Frank buries it in a zombie's neck, he dislodges it by bracing a foot against its chest and kicking it off, which has the effect of decapitating zombie in a gush of blood. I guess that why they say sickles really satisfy.

But even zombie-hacking would get old after a while, and so it's to Capcom's credit that they've designed a deeper and more engaging game. Frank's real objective is not to mow down endless numbers of zombies, but rather to uncover what the hell has gone so horribly wrong in Willamette. He does this by tracking down survivors and piecing together information from a couple of apparent government agents also trapped in the mall.

Frank also has to document what is happening by taking photos. The game walks you through a tutorial that instructs you on how to compose pictures with horrific, dramatic or erotic compositions. The more of those elements you can squeeze into a photo, the more "player points" you earn and the faster your skills improve.

There are also plenty of side missions, from checking out mysterious developments to rescuing other characters and leading them to safety.

I do, however, have two complaints. One is about the camera. Instead of staying right behind Frank all the time, he can rotate in your field of view so that what he's looking at isn't necessarily what you're looking. Sure, you can reorient the camera behind him with a click of the thumbstick, but it's still annoying, especialy when you're beset by a dozen zombies coming from all sides. It also makes it hard to use aimed weapons like the pistol.

The other complaint is about the save system. Basically, you have one save slot, and you can only save at your "home base" of the security room, or in the mall's bathrooms. Unfortunately, you can find yourself quite a ways away from those places while carrying out a mission, and if you die, you've just lost a good chunk of progress. Also, from some of the reviews, the single save slot can also be problematic because many of the missions are timed, and if you save at the wrong point, you may not have enough time to complete the mission, requiring a total restart.

Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to some good old-fashioned zombie bashing, with a bit o' "X-Files"-style conspiracy thrown in to boot. If you're antsy for some good 360 action during the summer lull, it'd be worth your time to check out "Dead Rising".

I hesitate to give Gallop Racer 2006 a perfect rating (although I really want to), because it is the best...if not nearly the only series of titles available for racing thoroughbreds. I have played the 2004 version and I can say there is one distinct difference with 2006 in that there are no trainers and jockeys to deal with up front. The humor of those characters and general lighter side of 2004 has been completely wiped clean. This and including some other subtle changes makes for a give and take between the old and new that might disappoint some and please others. For 2006 you make the calls as both jockey and manager of your destiny to rise to the top by sifting through the classes of horses and entering races that suites the type of race horse you choose. Since you make the decisions, you ride one horse at a time as opposed to bouncing back and forth between trainers and their respective horses. In one way, this limits your riding on the schedule, but on the otherhand it is much easier to build experience and get a better feel for the horse you ride to retirement and winning seems to come more naturally. Your goal is to win various titles by meeting certain requirements and to do that successfully, it takes raising your stats as a rider, prize money, and a winning horse through breeding.

Some players of 2004 may find the lack of personality and no real changes to the graphics rather a disappointment. However, they will find that controls are untampered with and breeding and access to lineages are much more open than previously assuming you amass enough rider points and cash. There are difficulty settings and with a lower setting, riding is easier making wins more likely to happen sooner than previously.

For those who have yet to try Gallop Racer, you will not likely miss what has gone before. Thoroughbred racing is quick and decisive with little time to execute a plan, even on a fifteen furlong run. Getting a solid start and quickly positioning the horse to his or her best running spot and maintaining the perfect stride is essential to having a chance at winning. Even with a perfect bred horse, things can still go south by getting boxed in if you don't stay alert to the changes in formation throughout the race. The controls are very easy to pick up, but hard to master, especially when you change horses. Stats are humbling. It took me quite a while to grasp what everything means and I'm still learning, but with a little time, things become apparent. It is quite an exciting game and rather unique than other forms of racing. My only nitpick is that the game doesn't feature any practice sessions in career. It doesn't seem likely that a jockey would ride a horse he had not set eyes on before in a high stakes event, particularly against a rival. But, without that small detail, the game is still worth a go if you love horses or want to try something entirely different.

Since Sea Biscuit I've been trying to get a good horse racing game but I was discouraged because of the average review ratings they yielded. Gallop Racer is a know franchise with several titles that was always in my sight but I didn't want to spend a lot in such an average game since their prices never got low enough for me to take the chance. I was finally tire of waiting and thankfully I am glad I got Gallop Racer 2006. At the beginning I was eager to jump on a horse and race but had no idea on how to WIN a race even after reading the manual once. It took me numerous races and carefully reading the manual to figure out how to win or at least not to finish last but since then I have been enjoying every single race. The graphics and camera shots make you feel as is you are actually mounting a race horse and you will feel the pressure and intensity on the final stretch.

The trick is to help your horse run as comfortably as you can for most of the race trough pace and positioning, this sounds easy but is not since you will be racing against other 10+ horses fighting for their comfortable spots like yours and there is when it gets really interesting. This is kind of a strategy racer as you take into account your horse, your competition, the track and the race pace, honestly not all races are the same nor racing the same horse, course and rivals will yield the same result. You can steal a race with an underdog horse if you strategize and execute well and loose big with a super horse if you are not careful making it even more interesting.

The game has a "free mode" serving as a practice mode where you run race after race with no ultimate goal or purpose but to win each individual race. Here you can choose the track and horse or you just can go random and try different horses and experience different challenges. It also comes with a "Vs mode" where you can race against another human or computer opponent. In the "simulation mode" you can create your own super horse and race it in the other modes. I am not interested in the breeding mode so I can't judge it. The "Title collection" mode in "Theme Park" is about racing a horse trough its lifetime registering for races as your horse age and improves its attributes while competing and collecting titles. In this mode you can also bet on horses but I am not interested in that so I haven't played it and can't judge it.

I don't know enough about many other horse racing titles or the "Gallop Racer" series to know the progression of the series but after playing it for several days and understanding more on horse racing I wonder why this game wasn't deeper. For example, your horse gains skills but your jockey don't, you can't run more than one horse at the time in "Title Collection", you don't know your rivals and track conditions before you enter a race and few other features that would have make this game a better title. I summary, I think this is a this is a good game for horse racing fans or whoever likes an alternative strategic racer that is not focus on crashing, stunting, killing or shooting anyone with a machine gun. The game has very good graphics; sound is not great because of same boring music, narrative and lack of customization options; the bottom-line is that the racing fun once you discover how to run effectively.

Then this is the game for you! I love horses and bought this game to try since it was modestly priced... and I haven't been able to put it down.

Video game horses are usually very poor looking, but I'd give the graphics folk two thumbs up on this one. The stats and horse info can be kind of confusing if you aren't familiar with the numbers side of racing (the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me). However, the game and booklet do a pretty good job of explaining things for you and after racing a few times you can understand it fully. There are loads of horses to choose from (all different ages, colors, racing styles) and you can also breed to come up with a horse of your very own. In addition you can customize your silks and your horse's racing gear (hood/blinkers, leg bandages, and noseroll).

It's a huge thrill to really feel as if you are racing your horsefinding that hole to sneak thru while in the middle of the pack and then charging onto the finish! Definitely my favorite racing game EVER.

Honest reviews on Gallop Racer 2006 - PlayStation 2

I got this game used, and it did not come with instructions.

I tried the game, and had NO FREAKING IDEA what the heck I was supposed to do. There are stats for everything, there are tons of races, there are tons of titles that your horse can earn, all of which meant absolutely nothing since my horse consistently came dead freaking last each time I came close to the wire.

My memory of this game during this period is dominated by the screen visuals of a pack of horse asses speeding away from me as I desperately flail my whip on the cow I was apparently riding.

However, I managed to find the game manual and after reading through all 50 pages, I thought the instructions still woefully insufficient but at least got much of the definitions explained, plus one handy two page spread listing all possible horse "abilities".

Since then, I have happily played this game and have been breeding good horses and earning titles with them.

I like the algorithms used on determining the horse's performance within the race depending on your riding decisions; it seems pretty true to life. The graphics are pretty good, too. There are tons of options, and I've just been playing on the "easy" level of difficulty.

I think this is a good game for racing enthusiasts; you can even wager within the game, and it has the basic wagering options that you would see at the track. You have to pay attention to the horse's energy level when scheduling your races, and that's pretty realistic, too.

I recommend you get the freaking manual before giving up on this game.

Finally, it would be nice if the game manufacturers could include a little trail riding option or something for the horses you retire, since riding in race after race gets pretty repetitive.

I've had the itch to buy a good horse racing game ever since I re-installed the PC version of Final Stretch. As I am into the "empire building" of Sim-type games, and used to PC-type "empire building" games, I have to say that I find Gallop Racer lacking in that department.

You don't really start from rags and work your way up...you just pick any horse you like. And that goes for racing as a jockey and breeding. Don't like that at all.

My criticism may be a bit unfair, and predefined because I have never liked the "cartoonish", "anime-type" presentation of PS, PS2's, and Nintendo games. So for those of you who are used to playing PlayStation and Nintendo games, this game will have no affect on you.

As for me, this game just reaffirms my love for PC Sims through and through.

First off, let me say that I'm a huge role playing game fan. I have been for as long as I can remember. One of my main gripes with Microsoft's XBox was that there was a huge lack of good RPGs. It seems with the release of Oblivion, which was an action RPG, and the release of this game, which is a turn based RPG, they are off to a good start with the 360.

The battles in this game are fun and strategic. Your characters are placed on grid-like terrain, and it's your job to move them around and position them to be able to attack the enemy. The enemy is also on the same grid, opposite of you. The positions of which your characters are placed at the start of each battle are random, so it does require strategy on your part.

Another huge part of this game is golemn collecting. Think of it as a Pokemon-like collection experience. Many of these golemns have unique powers that will be of great help to you on your journey. Golemns that you can collect are different from normal enemies in that they actually show up visibly on your map, as opposed to the random battles you will enter into to fight normal monsters.

The story is the best part of the game. It starts out slow for the first few hours, and then after a certain event that happens to you in the game, it's full steam ahead.

The main character, Atsuma, is your average meatheaded student who doesn't quite pay attention in class. Throughout the game, his learning curve doesn't seem to improve too much. He's always the last character to figure out what is exactly happening around him. His arm is what ties this story together, as it is the source of a mysterious power. Throughout the game, more backstory about his arm will be revealed to you. At first you will be joined by two characters, Toya and Makoto. Toya is more like a mentor to Atsuma and takes him under his wing at the beginning of the game. Makoto is the game's over-the-top stereotypical gay guy. He's madly in love with Toya and claims himself to be the president of Toya's fan club. Makoto is the source of much of the game's great comic relief for the first few hours of gameplay.

Later in the game, you'll be joined by Karin, Raigar, and Yuki. Karin is a headstrong woman who is part of a group called the "resistance movement". Raigar is Karin's personal bodyguard, who reveals himself to be freakishly strong. When you first meet him, he doesn't talk much, but he'll open up as the game progresses. Yuki is a selfish little girl who's main goal in life is to become the most famous golemn hunter that ever lived. She's also the source of alot of the game's funny dialog as the game goes on, because she has something to say about everything.

Speaking of the dialog, it's suprisingly fresh and natural. It never tries too hard to be funny, and in return you'll find yourself laughing aloud many times throughout the game.

I would love to reveal more of the story to you, but since it's the greatest part of the game, you'll have to get it and see it for yourself. Overall, Enchanted Arms is an enjoyable experience that has a good few fun sidequests to enjoy along with it's main storyline, which should keep you busy for many hours. I'd personally suggest this game to anyone who likes turn based-style battles or anyone who enjoys a fulfilling RPG story.

I really enjoyed this game. It brought me back to the style of play I first experienced with the Final Fantasy series. Something about the mini battles and the turn based fighting is a welcome change to all the real-time combat every other game in the world incorporates.

As other reviewers have said, this is basically a complete Final Fantasy rip-off, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, and its buggy in that the game tends to crash at odd times, which is a bad thing

Other bad things include the complete linearity of the early levels, where you can't turn left or right at all, you basically just follow a narrow path to each encounter, and also the very very slow save/load menu, which gets slower the more saves you have. I would reccomend just saving in maybe 2 slots because of that, and over writing one or the other whenever you save (which should be often)

Now on to the good: the game gets ALOT better if you stick with it. There's a little indicator that shows how far along you are, and I almost gave up on it in the 15-20% range because of the many problems, but for whatever reason i stuck with it and it got much much better 40% or so

The levels opened up and you could back track and explore sections you might have skipped earlier. You got more choice about what order to do things in too. And finally the story line kicked in, and by the 50% mark i was pretty much just playing it to see what the characters would say and do next in the cut scenes, which is a tribute to the story if not the game play

Another really over looked element is the humor in the voice acting. Its cheesy and silly but I really did laugh out loud in several places. So give it a chance and you might be surprised at how much better the middle is than the beginning

Honest reviews on Enchanted Arms - Xbox 360

I am 77% through the game and I was liking it up to this point. Finding different Golems through out the game reminds me kind of a Pokemon game except they don't evolve and they don't learn new abilities unfortunately. I guess i'll do some pros and cons of the game.

+ Fast paced battles. You sometimes have to be very strategic up against the stronger enemies. The good thing is it gives you the option to retry the same battle if you lose instead of having to load up from another save point.

+ You can save anywhere in the game. If you go into a battle against a lost golem and are using the wrong characters to defeat it you can load up the last save before you get to them and switch characters.

+ Lot's of different golems to use throughout the game.

Now for my negatives

VP is stupid. When you play the game you will at some point come across the Holy Beast Shrine. The further you explore the more like a maze it becomes. Making it harder to get to heal spot to increase your VP. The thing about VP is that each character starts out with a certain amount and once it hits 0 that character will enter all battles with only 1 HP and if the enemy get's a jump on you your dead. Doesn't even give you a chance to escape.

The game only allows you to carry 9 of each healing item. I don't like that. In the Holy Beast Shrine you can use all the heal items you can get. So I guess it was ok up to that point.

The game in all though is pretty fun. Like any other RPG though you will usually hit a frustrating point.

First off, I really liked this game for the fact that i'm a big turn-based RPG fan. So warning to the buyer, Enchanted Arms is an RPG in the truest sense of the phrase. I will start by saying that if you aren't a turn-based RPG fan you should probably rent this game first to see if you like it, it's definitely worth a rental!!! This is a genre that the 360 was missing, though there are other RPG's for the 360, none are Turn based. So let's get started!!

Graphics, Great!! I'd say definitely better than Xbox or PS2, but not Amazing, but I would say "Great". The graphics shine the most in my opinion when in a battle, magic spells and skills shine vibrantly and beautifully!! There are also extra extended skills which are loosely similar to the FFVII limit breaks, which look amazing!! Are the graphics Next-Gen? I would say yes!! Do they compare to other graphically amazing 360 games like Fight Night 3 (just one example)? No it doesn't but at times the game does show 360 power.

Sound, Okay, nothing amazing here at all! Voice over are average, they are good but I have seen better. Background music is typical of your average RPG.

Controls, Great. For a turn-based RPG that is. I mean it is turn based so it controls never get complicated, Menu navigation is really easy and standard I was able to figure out how to upgrade skills, equip, and synthesize golems without ever looking at the manual.

Gameplay, okay this is where and why I decided to give this game a 4 instead of a overall 3. The gameplay is pretty fresh, because of the addition of Golem creating and using them in Battle, which I will touch on a little later. But first the battle system, which is a pretty good combo of Turn-base/strategy, cause your team is place on a grid where you can only move your players anywhere within the grid, of course movements are limited to spaces available and how far a specific character can move. So strategy comes in to play by trying to put yourself in range to attack, heal others, and defend. What really impressed me was the use of Golems, which I can only compare very loosely to Pokemon. Golems are used similar to how Pokemon are used, i.e. to help you fight, heal, protect, etc. This feature adds another level of gameplay to this game which raised this game from "mediocre" to "Very good". Simply because you can capture parts of golems you have fought or randomly find parts to create your own Golems to fight for you. Building different golems is pretty easy and quite addicting, thus far. I am only in the first 25% of the game right now and I am already addicted to creating golems from parts I have found, I only imagine this feature getting better with the ability to build stronger and more interesting golems. Without this feature this would have been a really mediocre RPG. So overall the gameplay holds this title together and great gameplay is what we all look for in a game right?

Story, the story so far seems to be average, like I said I am only 25% in to it so I am hoping this will improve as the game goes on but for right now there is nothing amazing here as far as the story goes.

So overall, if you are a turn based RPG fan and you own a 360 then you will definitely want to pick this game up. But this game is definitely not a ground breaker and definitely not a reason to run out and buy a 360 (there are other games that warrant that). But all in all I can't think of a reason to tell any XBOX 360 turn based RPG fans not buy this game, especially since it is the only one of its kind available for the 360. For others though I would only suggest waiting for a demo or a rental to see if you like what this game does.

I personally am a fan of lots of all Genres of games, with the exception of a lot of strict car driving games, so I thoroughly enjoy this game so far. I could definitely understand an argument for this game not being even close to one of the best RPG's ever, but for the first turn based RPG for the 360 I think it fairs pretty well.
