Armed Assault, the franchise with a pretty standard love/hate relationship factor. You'll love the free-form, gigantic sandbox that it has to offer, but you'll hate it at the same time for it's (unavoidable) bugs and complications.

Combined Operations is simply a package-deal with the latest "Operation Arrowhead" (Takistan, Zargabad, Desert environments) standalone expansion, as well as the original ARMA II (Chernarus) in the same box. The value is great, as you're basically buying the keys to a massive mil-sim amusement park, free to do whatever you please with not too many constraints. There isn't a good method in describing what kind of game this is if you haven't played it before. If you're used to Call of Duty and similar shooters, then you're in for a surprise if you play this game. It's a lot like the original Operation Flashpoint, except on a much grander scale, with more flexibility. I could spend a couple hours writing up an essay on what this game is, or I could just give a quick rundown on what one should expect.

PROS:

Flexibility in doing what you want. Create your own missions, scenarios, dynamic environments, etc.

Striking visuals with the proper hardware. (Proper, as in: Very nice rig, $2,000+) A lot of things going on at once, leads to amazing scenes.

Community and it's modding counterpart is amazing. First thing one should do after buying this game, is visit or the forums.

Extremely *massive* environments, with land-air-sea mobility. Jets, tanks, helicopters, armored humvees, the works.

CONS:

Can be ridiculously complicated for first-time users, even for PC game veterans. Patience is a virtue.

Quite a system hog, especially when the action is at it's finest.

Large, open-world, sandbox environment = plenty of bugs that one has to come to accept with such an undertaking.

Overall, this is a game for PC gamer veterans and enthusiasts. This is not something you just jump into all the while expecting a simulation to be handed to you on a silver platter. Time and patience has to be put in to be able to get a great experience. Is that really a problem, or is it more of a quality? When typical gamers spend a large chunk of their lives dying-and-respawning in Call of Duty, with no change in pace and with little rewards... I would say it's a quality with it's own rewards. This is the kind of game you purchase as an investment, one that you will keep coming back to when you feel like trying something different. Making a new scenario, having a tactical battle online with others, etc.

ARMA2 is a realistic military simulator, probably the most realistic on the market. It's not just infantry combat, although you can play it that way. ARMA2 also has cars, trucks, tanks, helicopters, planes, and more. It even models ballistics and bullet drop, if someone fires at you from 200 meters away you even hear the bullet hit the ground before you hear the rifle. It's a big sandbox, which is good and bad.

The game ships with 2 islands, a large and a small. Both have forests, hills, roads, towns, fields, mountains, etc. I'd say you would spend a good 15 minutes driving from one side of the island to the other. If you can see it you can go there, there are NO invisible walls. The game locations are fictional, although they are based on real-life topography. ARMA2 is set in Eastern Europe, Operation Arrowhead is set in the Middle East. The possibilities on the huge playing areas are almost endless. You can also download user-created islands, some of which are impressive in both scope and detail.

A mission designer is included to make your own missions, along with sophisticated scripting capabilities. In addition, there are hundreds of user-created mods and missions, everything from a simple "destroy the enemy" mission to new weapons, vehicles, sounds, etc, to new game modes like "capture the island" and a GTA clone.

In a way there are almost too many possibilities between official and user-made content, and the quality varies. The official missions have some neat tricks, although they don't expose you to everything the game has to offer. Some things work well, others don't. You'll have to find a way to manage missions/mods and all your time gathering, installing, and playing all the different things. A launcher like "ARMA II Launcher" helps you manage what mods you want to use. There is plenty of help on the official Bohemia Interactive forums, although they are picky about posting in the appropriate forums.

Although the visuals and presentation are quite good, ARMA2 is quirky and not without bugs and oddities. Just mapping the controls is an adventure, what's the difference between "Prone" and "Go Prone?" You'll use practically every key on the keyboard, although remember you can map something like Control-G for landing gear or Control-E to eject. With a large playing area and so much going on, performance is also an issue, ARMA2 benefits from tweaking and downloading mods to do things like get rid of motion blur and tame the tall grass a bit.

There is plenty to do in this game for both single player and multiplayer. Setting up local, LAN, or Internet games is smooth and easy. It even remembers the last IP address you manually typed in (I'm looking at you OFP Dragon Rising!) Co-op missions, deathmatch, capture the flag, and more are all there, and with mission designers being able to do scripting plenty of different game modes are out there. There are "Warfare" or "capture the island" missions that add strategic and real-time-strategy elements as you build your base, build units and vehicles, and try to take over towns while searching for the enemy base. You can choose to be a soldier and take orders, command a squad, or be in high command mode and command all the units. The learning curve on Warfare modes is moderately high and documentation is scarce, but they are very unique and rewarding.

If you have the time and patience and like realistic military combat simulators, ARMA2 will delight and amaze you. If you're a run-and-gun sort of player with a short attention span, this probably isn't your game. It also helps to be somewhat computer knowledgeable and have good hardware. I have a 2.4 GHz dual core AMD, 4GB of RAM, Windows XP, and a GTX 250 video card. With tweaking it runs acceptably on my system, but I wouldn't want to play with much less. I'm saving my dollars for a solid state drive (SSD), from what I read ARMA2 does a lot of small file reads and greatly benefits from the almost 0 access time of SSDs.

Best Deals for ArmA2: Combined Operations

I owned the original Flashpoint and the first ARMA game both decent but not without bugs. But this game, ARMA II has way too many bugs for me to bother with it. I gave up after a few hours of gameplay. It was simply too frustrating trying to complete a mission when the scripted events wouldn't occur or execute properly. For example, my squad leader was supposed to lead us in clearing out the village and then move on to the next objective. He instead stood in the middle of the street for 3 hours. I had to shoot him in the end. Ok if a bug happens once, but it happened mission after mission some new, frustrating, roadblock of a bug that killed the action. Maybe a patch will fix it, but I can't recommend this to any non-ARMA fan. You have to really want to play this game to put up with the shortcomings.

If the game runs properly then it is a lot of fun. This is a realistic combat game and it's great to have games like this coming out in the age of Call of Duty. The graphics and shooting mechanics are well done in ARMA II and it's quite a rush to come up on the enemy when you have been marching quietly over the terrain scanning for signs of activity. The firefights are brutal and make the point that combat isn't easy.

Honest reviews on ArmA2: Combined Operations

If you are a soloist, a Rambo, a loner, this is probably not the game for you. The majority of people playing video games now days, are multiplayers. They play online for that extra challenge. This game involves not only multiplayer but teamwork on a high level. That high level is set by the players. Once you immerse into the land of Arma II, you will find yourself talking as if you have been in the military for years. This is a military simulation, not the average arcade game. You will not hear people talking about face rolling, and total pwnage and all that crap. You will only hear the calls for close air support, transport and long ranged artillery. If you are that role playing, military game guru, you will love the multiplayer associated with this game. However if you are into points and worrying about your kill to death ratio, find a server with Player Vs. Player. Some snipers pride themselves on taking out those loners. The Delta Force will work together on special operations missions, the pilots will be in their own group, and don't be surprised to see a Shooter and a Spotter acting as one Sniper. This is an incredible game, if you play it the way it was intended to be played.

If you are considering picking up the game. Check out the guys at 7th Cav, they always keep a populated server, and they really use that teamwork you are looking for.

To start off, I'd like to say that X-Box Live is amazing and worth every penny. Online gaming is incredibly fun and quite a good way to pass time.

That aside, there are downsides to X-Box Live that can be avoided through prepaid cards. Number one, you always run the risk that unwarranted transactions will be made if your credit card information is stored on your X-Box 360 system. It may not happen all that often, but it's best to avoid it all together.

The biggest reason to buy prepaid Xbox Live card is the renewal process that happens when you don't use one. If you order X-Box Live through your system, it'll renew every time your subscription runs out. This wouldn't be a problem except that it's not that easy to cancel. Instead of canceling through your system, you have to go through the hassle of actually calling X-Box Live support. Even then, depending on the representative you get, you may be hassled to keep your subscription because they really don't want you to cancel it. I'm guessing that's part of their job to convince you to keep it, but it still is frustrating to the person that is trying to cancel it.

You'll have to go through this process every time you want to cancel if you don't use a prepaid card. Is that hassle really worth it? I don't think so. Therefore, avoid all of the problems by simply buying a prepaid card. You won't be sorry.

UPDATE: (3/6/2011): I updated this review about a year ago pointing out that you could disable the subscription on X-Box Live's website. As of this update, they've taken that feature away again. I'm guessing Microsoft must have seen a major increase on people who canceled their subscription, thus now forcing you to call their customer service hot-line again to cancel. Even if they add it back, just save yourself the hassle and get a prepaid card. You never have to worry about dealing with customer service that will try their hardest to get you to stay on as a recurring customer. Amazon also gives great deals throughout the year. You could save yourself $20 to $30 sometimes just by checking to see if Amazon has these prepaid cards on sale. What's not to love about that?

I decided to purchase one of these when my current subscription expired. It took a matter of minutes, and I was logged back on to my Live account. It was also about $10-12 cheaper than it would've been if I went to my local big box store (not to mention gas and time). Here are the steps that I took:

1. Purchased it on Amazon.com

2. Checked my e-mail to retrieve my Xbox Live Code immediately after purchase.

3. Logged onto my account on xbox.com, and put the Xbox Live Code in. (Or enter the code on the Xbox 360 dashboard.)

4. Turned on my 360 and viola! Instantaneous access.

I plan on purchasing this again when my current subscription is up. It's a total no brainer.

This site is the cheapest I have found for this card.

Do not pay for your live service monthly on your credit card.

It's alot cheaper to buy one of these cards every year.

Honest reviews on Xbox Live 12 Month Gold for Halo 4

From what I can find this is the cheapest cost per month option available for a live gold subscription. Depending on the current price, it ranges from $2.9158 to $3.3325 per month. What I don't get is why this credit card sized subscription card comes in such wasteful packaging. It comes in a rather large plastic packaging, which requires it to be shipped in a box. You get free shipping, but how wasteful. Why doesn't amazon just offer the code online and not eat the cost of shipping and at the same time be a little greener?

Find the card on sale every so often each year. Don't pay the full price. The Xbox Live Gold is stellar and I love it, but I don't see how they charge $50 or more a year and you don't get any freebies...other than advanced demo downloads. They need to throw a bone for a free song or discounted DLC or a free rental every so often. I have spent well over $1000 in my 3 years with the Xbox 360 on peripherals, games and downloads. 2% of my money spent as a gift would have paid for 1600 points of DLC...that would be a nice thank you from Xbox 360 for keeping their community alive and well.

This skylander is FAST! Excellent for beating time themed missions. Also once upgraded he his fire arrows can be shot higher in the air hitting otherwise untraceable enemies. He has less armor than many other skylanders but is fast enough to avoid most attacks while attacking from afar with his arrows. Also a plus that he can work on the old game as well.

So much has been written about Deus Ex (pro's and con's) that I'll just say the there is nothing different in the Japan import. All the good things and all the bad things are still there. But I like this game for it"s huge amount of content, design and graphics. I prefer FPS's and this is one of the best. Yes, I like Dead Island, Left for 4 Dead, and Shadows of the Damned more but I'll come back to Deus Ex again and again.

After I read all the positive reviews,I bought this controller thinking it would improve my game. It did not.

Comments like " it is the fastest controller on the market " are false. There was no additional speed or anything else.

You can configure any controller to do the same thing. It is a good controller but does not add anything to your game play.

The different modes are nice but the microchips program drains your battery way too quickly, I constantly have my play and charge kit in because it dies so fast, and it annoying because the play and charge kit makes ur mic all fuzzy and annoying for others, and with black ops 2 out this controller only good for rapid fire on there.

I normally buy these bags for my gaming accessories. Recently I purchased an Xbox 360 and I debated with the 360's messenger bag since it cost 50 dollars. I went for this older Xbox bag and bought it through Target.com for $9.99. It is unfortunately out of stock now or I would pick up another one. I am currently using it to store four 360 controllers and they fit very well and organized with room for another 4 controllers or so. I am happy with the design and style of the bag. It has a lot of room in it for gaming accessories and keeps my controllers clean and dust free. The front zipper pocket is fairly roomy as well and I have 2 360 headsets in there.

Skinit is great on flat surfaces (IE X box, lap tops, even a cell phone) Curved surfaces is a no. The fitting of a curved surface is not accurate. I bought this applied to controller and no matter how hard I or my coworker tried, there were bubbles and wrinkles. I threw it away the day it was received.

This is nice for OSU fans who have a plain colored xbox controller. The only thing that I didn't like it that it seemed a little small it fits perfectly, but it seems like they could have made it a little bigger to fit more of the controller around the sides. Still nice though!

Toca Race Driver 3: The Ultimate Racing Simulator Reviews

Toca Race Driver 3: The Ultimate Racing Simulator
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
Codemasters hyped this game for months before release with numerous screen shots and talk of the new and improved physics model, damage model, and everything else. Maybe if they hadn't been telling us how great this game...errr, simulation... was going to be then perhaps it would have lived up to the promises. Oh yeah, let's also pretend that Forza Motorsport never existed and hadn't set a high benchmark for others to match.

This game is decent but it is by no means the ultimate in racing simulation. The sheer variety of cars and racing genres offered in TOCA 3 are what really saves this game. The damage model is indeed very good as well.

The major drawback as I see it is that the handling physics for the cars are not what they could be. Yes, the cars all handle differently but they still seem to lack the 'feel' and feedback that you would get from other great driving sims such as Forza and Colin McRae Rally. What you end up with is something between Forza and Gotham 2. I bit sim, a bit arcade, and a bit disconnected. At times you feel a bit as if you're floating rather than driving a race car on a race track... I should note that this is with the game in PRO SIM settings which in theory should make things better.

The other problem? This isn't really leaps and bounds ahead of what TOCA 2 offered in terms of game play. I've heard numerous comments online from others saying they thought TOCA 2 had better graphics and in some instances handling characteristics. I just ran a back to back test of the Global GT light series in both TOCA 2 and 3 at Brands Hatch and can confirm that in some ways TOCA 2 is nicer. The car is certainly more anchored in TOCA 3 and feels less floaty but you feel more feedback off the racetrack surface in TOCA 2. In TOCA 3 it seems as if you only feel the corner rumbles strips and the rest is up to you to guess when your tires are about to let go. Graphis are indeed very similar between the two games. Flip a coin?

Online play: In a word? LAG. I've noticed MANY more lag problems in this game compared to that of Forza. So far the rooms also seem to have a large number of kiddies who get their greatest amusement from crashing into others instead of actually trying to drive and win a race. Yeah, the same kids were online in Forza as well but it seems as if they multiplied and all bought TOCA 3. If you plan on buying it for a great online racing experience, stick with Forza... unless Codemasters is able to sort things out a bit with the lag issues. For some reason some of the online scoreboards are all messed up for select players as well... showing scores as -1 rather than the more usual 1490ish numbers.

Rent this one first and see if it is for you. If you spend some time racing it, the game is actually fun and the variety of race tracks and cars is a big plus. Game play is OK once you adjust your reality accordingly. The game could have been a huge hit but in my eyes it still comes up shy of topping the feel of Forza.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I'll keep this short: if you like the genere of racing games this is a must have racing game for Xbox. It easily replaces several individual games in that it has a ton of racing styles, tracks and cars available to you. The biggest challenge (albeit, fun)is switching up styles and having to adapt your driving from a Monster Truck to an open wheel asphalt car and track. The only "minus" I'd give it is that the graphics are only "average" for an xbox game released in 2006. The in game voice overs and cutscenes of your grizzled British driving coach are a bit annyoning at first but he kind of grows on you in that he is equally free with praise and disdain of your driving skills!

My son loves Skylanders. This one is mine. I found it some what blasphemous yet funny at the same time. Some of the things he says like, "I am going to smite thee" and "One strike and you are out". All in all he is fun to play. He is slow, so I trained him up in that area. Different hats help that as well. If I am moving, I put a speed hat on, If I am in an area I put on a damage only hat. I've been an Xbox 360 owner for year and it's been a really great console. This S model is their more recent iteration and it is incredibly quiet and reliable (this is an important point, because the models at the beginning of the Xbox 360's lifespan were notorious for terrible failure rates...Microsoft has learned their lesson). I won't waste your time listing all the great 360 games you can pick up, but I will say that the 3 included with this holiday bundle are decent. Forza Horizon is the best of the bunch and if you're a fan of arcadey (i.e. not simulation) racing games, I think you'll love it. Kinect Adventures is a collection of minigames that basically show you the type of fun things that you can do with your Kinect sensor. Kinect Sports I don't own but from what I hear it's similar to Kinect Adventures, but the minigames are sports-themed instead. Kinect Sports is probably the weakest game of the 3. That said, I have friends that have been interested in getting a 360 and Kinect and I've been advising them to pick up a model that includes the larger hard drive (versus the less expensive model that just has 4GB of storage...that 250GB of storage on this model DOES come in handy). Today would be the perfect day for anybody in their situation to pick one up, because the price for this bundle is great!

One word of warning: if you have plans to play multiplayer games online or use services like Netflix on the 360, Microsoft puts those things behind a subscription service ($60/year for Xbox Live Gold, which gives you multiplayer, access to apps like Netflix, and also a number of free games in their "Games for Gold" initiative. You can find deals on the subscriptions if you search for them so you rarely pay $60, but it's still something to be aware of).

And one more thing: If you have kids, I'd highly recommend buying the downloadable game Kinect Party. My 4 and 2 year old LOVE playing that game, and it's very inexpensive.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I managed to pick this up when Amazon had it listed for $249, a bargain in my book (...wouldn't be surprised to see a similar discount again with Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up...). For anyone that doesn't already have an Xbox 360 and wants a Kinect to go along with it, this is the bundle to get. Microsoft's most recent "E" iteration of the unit gives it a simpler slightly slimmed down look which blends in nicely with all my other entertainment center tech (the power pack is enormous though, make sure you have room to tuck it away behind something). To anyone that already has a recent 360, there's not much reason to upgrade, everything else is pretty much the same under the hood.

The internal 250GB drive should be sufficient to store a decent amount of downloaded games and additional DLC if you're considering the 4GB version, be aware that this may limit you sooner than you might think as many disc-based games now make it necessary to offload some content onto the hard drive (even if you have no intention of purchasing fully-digital copies of games). You could always buy a hard drive later, but if the price is right with the 250GB included already, why not spring for it?

The Forza Horizon game included in the bundle is a digital copy a card with a download code is included in the box. The two Kinect games have the discs included. The Kinect turned out to be a lot of fun but make sure you have plenty of space. I have the Kinect mounted on the top of my 55" Panny plasma (make sure you buy the mounting clip separately if you want to mount on top of your flat screen!) and I measured 8 feet from the front of the unit to the edge of my couch, and this turned out to be not enough space, still ended up having to rearrange the furniture. Realistically I would say make sure you have about 10 feet of distance between where you'll stand and the Kinect. There are some "zoom lens" products sold for the Kinect as well to try to decrease this minimum distance, I have not gone this route as reviews seem to be mixed. But YMMV.

Finally, I made this purchase fully aware that the next generation Xbox One will be out by the end of the month. I reasoned that the upfront hardware cost for the aging Xbox 360 is a good value for the price I paid, many of the games will be much cheaper (and at least for now, are still widely available), and I anticipate Microsoft will still support the system for a least a few more years even after the Xbox One is released, if prior generations are any indication. As the "E" version is also the last version of the 360 to be made, I'm hoping all the hardware kinks have been worked out by this point. Not comfortable jumping right in with the new One hardware at release, especially after seeing what happened when the 360 hardware was first released. I'm comfortable with waiting 2-3 years before considering an Xbox One when the hardware has been proven and there's a solid library of games to choose from.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 E 250GB Kinect Holiday Value Bundle

Pros:

most compact model released

most silent model released

compatible with current "slim" removable hard drives

Neutral:

only 4 USB ports instead of 5 (but so what who uses all of them)

swipe to turn on/off gone (i didn't hate swipe and don't miss it either)

no major improvements such as USB3, addition of blutooth, huge SSD or anything else (possible they can't do this without major issues)

value. $50 gc came with my deal, but this bundle includes various outdated titles that can be obtained used for $10 each (if not cheaper)

Cons:

removal of digital optical output might render some high end (Turtle Beach) headsets unusable

biggest hard drive available is still only 320gb (won't be a con to some, but is to me)

flash data limited to 2x32gb (won't be a con to some, but is to me)

otherwise the same old 360 you already know...

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 E 250GB Kinect Holiday Value Bundle

This is a great bundle for those looking for a new XBOX 360 or wanting to hold off on the XBOX One craze until more games come along.

I highly recommend this one since it comes with a large HD which comes in handy now that more games are requiring installs of game data (GTA V was roughly 8 GB more than the arcade XBOX holds).

The new sleek E version of the 360 is nice and looks more professional than the odd shapes of the last 2 editions.

The Games on this edition are a bit older than the regular bundle, but my kids love both Adventures and Sports games included with this bundle.

Well worth the investment.

I have four Xbox 360's in my house since I use them as extenders for my Windows Media Center PC that runs my TV. But one of them was the original Xbox 360 from the initial release when they first started being sold. It still worked (no red ring of death) but was noisy as all you know what and didn't have a large hard drive. I've got the Xbox One preordered already, but since games aren't backwards compatible I knew I have to keep a 360 system on my main TV in the great room anyway. So I thought I'd take advantage of decent pricing and get a new one that will sit next to the XB1 when it arrives, that will be in warranty for a little while as well. And this way I can move the slim into my Halo Vanguard portable gaming system, pull the elite out of there to put back into my room, and shuffle things about. And all this will free up an Xbox I can give away to someone.

The unit itself is nice. People are complaining about the lack of an optical audio out, so if you need that, the 360E is not for you. I use HDMI so not an issue for me at all. The controller is standard, as is the Kinect (although there's a bit more to the logo than my existing Kinect). The power brick is similar to the one for the Xbox 360 slim, but rather than two power barrels on the end, there's just one barrel with multiple sections on the cylinder. There's a network port still which I like, since I don't like saturating my wireless with things that I can run plugged into my gigabit network here at home.

The unit is nice. I like that it's more a match to the forthcoming Xbox One, and I like the less intrusive appearance from the front, since the power button and lights are a fraction of the size of previous version's power buttons. This comes at a cost, however. There is no longer any indication of what controllers are connected, like you used to be able to see with the four different quarter arc lights around the power button indicating player 1, player 2, etc. There is no more indication of any controller connected whatsoever. This is a bit of a deprecation, but since it's generally me and my 10 year old son playing, it's not something that impacts us.

The buttons are buttons again, not just sensors like the Xbox Slim had. Physical clicking buttons for power and eject.

Fit and finish is nice.

But the big thing is the silence. And it is VERY silent. I'm about 15 feet away on the couch and can't hear anything at all from it. Even up close, it's dead silent. The drive also makes considerably less noise when reading discs than the slim or previous versions did.

It took me several hours to transfer content from the slim to this via a USB stick, and then the hassle for transferring licenses and redownloading things that I couldn't just transfer over in that process.

UI is smooth, I didn't see any difference here between this and any of the previous Xbox versions I have.

The games are alright, but don't buy it for the games since they're usually discounted separately now anyway. And be aware, the racing game is a code only, you have to download all 6.8 GB before you can play it.

If you're looking for an Xbox 360 because you want to be able to play the games available, this is a great choice. If you are looking to replace an existing older Xbox 360 for whatever reason like I was, it's a great choice. If you're looking for any new features, there are none. Some people prefer the looks of the Xbox 360 slim, so you can always get that without any loss of functionality compared to this one. They're ALL going to be cheaper because of the push to get as many sold as they can before the Xbox One launches in another 22 days.

For the price, I thought it was a great deal, getting the games, the new style Xbox 360, and another kinect that my son can take with the Vanguard when he goes gaming elsewhere.

This is a new edition of the previous Star Wars Lego games. They have been repackaged and some extras have been added. The biggest difference is the improvement in graphics and continuity. You can play the game by yourself, with a partner or on-line. And, after you have completed everything, you can do it all in one fell swoop! That is what the game claims, I haven't reached that point yet!

I was introduced to the Star Wars Lego series with the last installment, Star Wars Lego II: The Original Trilogy and I must admit I was a bit disappointed the first time I played this game. There is a significant difference between the difficulty of the games as well as the playability. But, once I realized that it was unreasonable to expect the entire set to be 2007 X-Box 360 quality, I started having a lot of fun.

Now, I should add that my daughter has loved this game from day one. She had played some of the older games at her friend's and was extremely excited to get the game (she made me pre-order it!)

Short and sweet: the game is a lot of fun. It is not too difficult, but that doesn't really matter. There are so many hidden items and very funny scenes that the game is a joy to play. You don't find yourself laughing out loud too often playing video games, but you will be in this one. Storm Troopers in speedos, enough said......

The game is good for children and adults. This is also a game you can play with your children. The two player mode works very well. The two player mode is also good for helping children (and adults) understand the concepts of cooperation and sharing---a definite plus in the world of gaming! There isn't anything too bad in any of the games. Characters explode into a pile of legos and you can shoot buildings apart---that is about it on the violence scale. It is definitely a fun game and you will not be disappointed!

The original Lego Star Wars was an unprecedented success. Who'd have thought that a game where the you played through the prequel episodes entirely made of Legos would've been such a huge success? Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy soon followed and was overall a better game because they were based off better movies (and some of the gameplay had been refined to be better). The Complete Saga now sees both games put together in one package. You can now play through all six episodes without any interruption. There are new levels to explore, the refined gameplay of the second game is used all throughout and that also means there are more characters.

You'll play through the saga's best lived moments, and there's a multiplayer aspect thrown in for good measure. You and a friend will conquer all six episodes by solving puzzles and using the force. The game is filled to brim with a great sense of humor and you'll be drowned in nostalgia as you play through episodes IV, V and VI. There's nothing to difficult about the gameplay either. You'll take down the bad guys and solve puzzles to open doors. You'll build things to help you out and pilot vehicles like the Pod Racer from Episode I and the X-Wing. You'll also collect studs to by many of the games unlockables including characters and vehicles. Then, of course, there's the customization that'll let you make a custom character. And with well over 100 characters, there are literally thousands of possibilities.

The only real big problem with Lego Star Wars is simply that the game is way too easy. There's no such thing as a game over. Should you die, the only bad thing that happens to you is you lose some studs. At least the game is so much fun that you really don't care. Also, while cooperating with a friend, you can both battle each other and to the victor go the spoils. Its great fun even if you can't die permanently.

This is great for someone who has never played the Lego Star Wars games before, but what about if you have? There's really not a whole lot of new content here for those who played the first two games to begin with. Some levels have been altered, but for the most part, it's all the same stuff. True there are a bunch of new levels, but if you've already got the first two games... the list price just isn't worth it to play what will virtually be the same two games all over again. Even if there are some extras, it's just too much of the same thing.

This then, brings about the question as to whether or not it would just be better to find used copies of the first two games. That really depends. The XBOX360 version has better graphics. It's smoother and runs better. If you buy the original games separate and used, you'll have to downgrade to the PS2, Gamecube or XBOX to have both (since the first game didn't come to 360 at all). The simple solution is this: If you have one, but not the other, it's easier (and cheaper) just to go pick up the game you don't have. If you have neither of them then by all means pick up The Complete Saga.

I owned both Lego Star Wars for the xbox and Lego Star Wars II for the 360. When this came out, I traded them both in and bought this new. It might not be worth it for everyone to do this, but it was for me. If you're already familiar with LSW, here's the differences I've noticed between having this edition vs. having the original two games:

Episodes I, II, and III (the first Lego Star Wars game) are now fully 360 compatible, so they're in HD and you can earn achievements

There's a new Cantina menu, so you can access all six episodes from one place

The improvements made for LSW2 have been retroactively applied to LSW1, like being able to use vehicles

Twice as many power bricks, which means twice as many special powers (consistently, many of them are funny and useless)

The levels are the same, however there are several additions such as "power-up" bubbles (which make you briefly invincible and I think increase your weapons power) and blue minikit canisters

A two-player section was added with a variety of arcade-style games.

The points where the game was notoriously prone to crashing (crossing the river in Ep. VI superstory, for instance) seem to have been fixed. These problems didn't seem to affect everyone, but they did happen to a lot of people, and prevented me from finishing LSW2.

For me, it was worth buying just to get everything in HD and for the possibility of actually finishing the game this time!

If you haven't played the LSW games before, they're awesome. It's redundant for me to give all the reasons the games are awesome, so I'll just mention that one of my favorite things about it is that it's pretty easy. I can play it and unwind without worrying about dying over and over, and I still get through a level even if I'm distracted or not 100% sober. However, if you're a hardcore gamer, you may find the game to be too easy. The changes for The Complete Saga have made the game even easier. On the other hand, if you go for all the achievements, like undefeated on some of the vehicle levels, you will be challenged.

Honest reviews on Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - Xbox 360

The Complete Saga improves over LEGO Star Wars II.

Load time is faster especially for character based levels.

The local co-op camera push bug (first AT-ST floating forward in Battle of Endor, and TIE Fighter turrets popping one player out every 30 seconds) was fixed. One player (in local at least) still needs to drop out sometimes to grab some minikits. (Still get stuck at the farthest, last Death Star Escape platform; don't go there.)

True Jedi only needs to be accomplished in Story or Free Play mode. I sort of miss having to get True Jedi in both modes. They replace that gold brick with a Challenge mode where they take away all extras enabled and give you a time limit to find 10 different (blue) minikits. I'd rather take the old trade since time based levels suck in general.

The lobby is better overall. While the outdoor area is smaller than ever, they make up for it by having two cars available! They also added "Beep-Beep" Extra for honking the horns while in the car. My girlfriend thinks that's the best thing ever. They add the band characters in the bar this time. The mini-kits are no longer in the way. They have a gallery for them which you scroll through. There is nothing for bounty hunters/super ewoks in the lobby.

The Jedi glow detection remains the same. Wish they improved it (needed some work -should prioritize to items and characters over your own buddy). Some NPCs get stuck randomly (but rarely) and twitch in place like crazy. I think it's a new bug.

The grass areas have added lush. It's a nice touch.

There is a new LEGO City: "New Town". It's an improved version of LEGO City with dumber stuff removed and cooler stuff added (boat in water and power lines). Easier to unlock (just 50 gold bricks). They also kept LEGO City as an option too.

There is an alternative New Hope level where you play as Darth Vader and Stormtrooper.

All the stuff from LEGO Star Wars I is definitely improved to at least LSWII standards or better.

My 8 year old son loves this game. With the complete saga you get quite a bit of gaming here for a very reasonable price. My favorite feature of the game is that a second player can jump in and play or leave at any time, even when the game is in progress. This is nice for a Dad who can't quite keep up with his son's video game habits.

SpongeBob: Plankton's Robotic Revenge is the first co-op game in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise. The game itself lacks originality, as it rips off Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One by having the same upgrade system (using sprockets instead of bolts), the same gun effect when two or more players shoot one target at once, and having the free fall section in levels. People say this rips off Battle for Bikini Bottom, but they're wrong because this game is nothing like Battle for Bikini Bottom at all, as it has different character models, guns, and obviously, it's a co-op game. I wouldn't at all consider this a sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom. Though originality doesn't determine whether a game is fun or not. The gameplay itself IS enjoyable, but since there are only 15 levels and all of the boss fights are the exact same, the game feels the same throughout. Did I mention the melee attacks are so bland and useless? The game is too easy. There is no difficulty selection and you have infinite ammo. This list price is $29.99 for a reason. The game has no online (which is ridiculous because this is an Activision co-op game on current gen consoles). No, this game does not look like a PS2 game, and the graphics are decent, but the environments have the best animated look. Graphics are not a reason to insult this game. The fact that Activision published this doesn't mean much, only that Behaviour Interactive (the developers of this game) were rushed and most likely were required to add guns to appeal to a younger audience (sad). This game was made by the developers of Ed Edd N Eddy: The Mis-Edventures, so I wonder why this game didn't turn out as well as I expected. The trophies and achievements are easy, but require you to put time into the game and have four controllers. The game can be fun with friends or alone, but just be aware it's only good for the price.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge is a fun kid's game. It's a cool, colorful, platforming game that utilizes the main characters from the SpongeBob SquarePants series. The game is not difficult, and if you're an Achievement Hunter, you'll be very pleased.

I sat and played through the game with each of the characters and was never really bored. The environments are well done, really colorful, and really makes you feel that you're at the bottom of the ocean in the SpongeBob SquarePants universe.

If you are a fan of the series, or, if you have a Grandchild, Nephew, Son, or Daughter that likes SpongeBob, this is a must have for your collection. It's repetitive at times, but, overall it's a cool little game.

"The Grinch" gameboy game is very interesting and fun. But I can not pass level 3. Cindy-Lou is throwing snowballs! I capture all the presents but can't leave! I try to shoot her with a snowball but she is too quick!

Well... forget that! This game is really fun! Get it for Grinch fans!

this is another stealth game by Konami but with The Grinch instead of Solid Snake, it plays just like the Gameboy Color Metal Gear Solid game, you sneak around trying to steal presents, get crazy gadgets and so on, this type of game is perfect on the handheld because you can play it in short spurts

I used to play this on playstation (one) quite a number if years ago... Getting back into some throwback games with my GBA SP that supposedly plays original game boy games... It arrived and I was excited to start playing right away, didn't turn on after numerous tries. I was disappoint and too busy to find time to get to a post office to send back.

I love this game! You play as the Grinch (the manual reads you can play as Max too, but I haven't gotten to him yet) I also have the Nintendo DS version (that one you only play as the Grinch)! I plan on getting the PS1 version too. I've heard people hated that one but who cares, I'm getting it anyway! Overall, this is a really great game! But geez is it hard! The one level you play as Max they expect you to get 50 something presents while Dobermans try to get you (You know the breed that Alpha from Pixar's Up is). I can't get away that fast. Why can't Max just snag presents and that's it, why have Dobermans chase you?!
