Rogue Legacy Reviews

This game is wonderful in so many ways. The ever-changing castle that you must fight through each time you die. The different choices of characters you get to select from on each play through is varied enough that they don't get tiresome. You can grind for gold to upgrade your hero as well as seek out loot for upgrades to your weapons and armor (all of which change the appearance of your character).

At first the game seems to be a simple jump-and-slash platformer. But as you level up your highly-varied skill tree and armor, you realize the game mechanics are much deeper. This game is often referred to as one of those MetroidVania games, which is an apt description. You can openly explore the castle, but you may quickly find out which areas are too tough for you until you gain more experience and loot. The enemies are varied for each section of the castle, and the bosses are challenging enough without being 'cheap'.

The best and most innovative part about this game is the fact that when you die (and you will die often) you return as one of your heirs. Each 'hero' has their own set of attributes. Some are bald, gay, dwarfs, dyslexic, OCD, etc. While some attributes are benign, others give you certain perks or hindrances. Eventually you will come to see which ones suit you best, but going through them is quite amusing.

I have not had this much fun with a platformer in years and I highly recommend you check out this hidden gem.

It's definitely a good game, with solid platforming. I guess for me though, is that I just didn't buy into the hype surrounding this game and for good reason. There are plenty of issues with this game, first and foremost is the feel of the controls though. Controls were good, but felt just a little sloppy, not nearly as tight as say a Super Meat Boy or a Shovel Knight. There was also the issue of the difficulty, it just didn't feel right and I'm a very experienced platform gamer and had some major issues at times getting through certain areas. Overall it's good, just not as great as some other games in this genre. Definitely give it a go if you're into Metroidvania-type games.

I heard about this game in an episode of Extra Creditz, and I went out and bought it immediately. I was not disappointed. It has fun hack and slash gameplay and is a literally endless supply of fun! If the idea of a 2D platformer with randomly generated rooms interests you, go and buy this game. If it doesn't interest you . . . I . . . I'm sorry, I can't help you with that. Maybe you should speak to your therapist about it.

I have read all of the negative reviews about Encore's chariot racing effort. The only kind word anyone has about Circus Maximus is that it is different. Well, it is different and it is fun. Admittedly, the game has its flawsgraphics being the main culpritbut it also has some dynamic gameplay when in the 1 player or 2 player co-op modes. Let's take a look...

Gameplay8 (out of 10)

One of the biggest complaints is that you have to use every button on the XBOX controller. You do and it is great! Once you get the hang of it, you will never look at the controller again when using the white or black buttons in other games. The biggest drawback under this umbrella is the steep learning curve on single player. It is tough because you have to simultaneously control both the driver and the warrior. There is a auto-drive option, but this is useless because the CPU driver cannot keep up with the others and you will fall hopelessly behind, thus it forces you to become quite skilled at button mashing.

Multi-player6

This is where I have the most complaints. As in most recent games, the creators (due to lack of memory or whatever reason) choose not to allow sims/CPU-controlled opponents when in multiplayer mode. 2 players in co-op mode is so fun because your team is battling 3 other sim teams. In 3 or 4 player, you have to go head-to-head.

Graphics6

The graphics are a bit blocky, but the scenery of the Roman Empire landscape almost makes up for it. Another drawback for sure, but one I can live with.

Overall4 stars (or 7.5 out of 10)

Overall this game is quite fun, and mostly because it is different. The first time you use the "rear view mirror" button and see the CPU teams charging up to you for battle, I think you will find it fun also.

I bought this game yesterday and am extremely pleased with it. I was going to wait to read GamePro's Review of it (I heard it got all 4.5s and 5.0s) but after seeing the comments here I decided to just go ahead and pick it up. It's an amazing game. The controls are complex, but after playing for an hour or two I didn't even notice. What I did notice was solid graphics (not the best ever, but good clean textures), a fitting soundtrack, funny voiceovers (I don't think they really yelled "I'm gonna kick your @ss in ancient Rome), and engrossing gameplay. I'm just embarking on my career mode so that I can unlock the hidden teams (I want the Minotaur). For loads of fun race w/ a friend and let him drive while you fight. It's greatk!! Just make sure your friend knows how to drive the chariot. Mine kept crashing and we'd end up losing, so I chopped his head off w/ my Trident. Ok maybe I'm a little too into this game!!

The word in most forums is that this is a sleeper hit. This game is so much fun thats its crazy. Some (where the bad reviews are comming from) are having problems with the controls, it does take a little getting use to. But once you have it down you'll love it

Overall this game rocks. Very high replay value.

Heres what I think:

Graphics 8.0

Fun 10

Control 10 (Once you learn it)

9 overall on a 10 point scale

Honest reviews on Circus Maximus

I like this game for it's idea. It certainly is different from most other games out there.

This game is great to play when friends come over. It isn't too hard at first, and even good players won't pull too far ahead, nor will bad players fall too far behind, making this a great party game.

Unfortunately, this is also the problem with this game. No matter how good you are, you can not manage to pull ahead. Eventually, the fighter on one of the other charriots will make you crash. You can catch up pretty easily, but it really is a matter of luck to be ahead at the end of the race. Perhaps the best strategy is to stay in the last position for the majority of the race, and attack towards the end, hoping to move by without getting knocked out...

If you want to play this game well, you have to start around 7am. It will take you about 4-5 hours to go through all the training rounds. By noon, you will know how to speed up, slow down, throw daggers, duck, sway, dodge obstacles, ram gift stands and run over innocent bystanders all at the same time. In an era of instant gratification, players have to remember to practice because Rome wasn't built in a day. This was the first game for any of the consoles (xbox, ps1-2, sega, nintendo or gamecube) that I had ever played. Not only can you learn to work the scary mass of buttons, but you can astound your friends...This is the game to play if you want step by step training in working every button and doodad on the xbox controller. It's especially fun when Marcellus, the trainer, screams insults at you like a drill sargeant each time you err. Proferring such exhortations as, "you aren't paying attention," "I didn't teach you that," "not the way I would have done it but not bad," Marcellus transforms the player from a slimy-twinkle toed newby into a master charioteer. You will earn Marcellus' highest praise, "done like a true Roman" if you persist in your efforts through the training. *****

Well, there certainly is alot to say about Sarge's Heroes. In comparison to all other army men games, this ranks as one of the top (then again, the other games weren't much competition). The graphics sparkle brilliantly using the advantage of the ps2 console. Each movement and environment is very realistic and clear. But, now comes the bad side. It's play control is somewhat, to be desired. In many points in the game, the controller is unresponsive. You push X to fire your weapon, nothing happens. However, this only happens every so often. Angles you look from can also be somewhat choppy, where you either look right or left, nothing in between. Also, the levels are extremely confusing! The objectives are so undescriptive, you have no clue what you are supposed to do (such as in the "Bridge" level.) The game, however is certainly not the easiest Army Men game! Huge tanks shoot one missile at you, and you're plastic shards. But even though it's moderately difficult in that perspective, it's really fun. Cinema scenes are great and so is the music. Overall, a good army men game worth buying.

I almost didn't buy this game because of the generally poor reviews by professional critics and other reviewers. I just disagree. This is a really fun game! Some here have criticized the control system, but I find it just fine. This game wasn't meant to be Tomb Raider, but rather an entertaining strategy/3ps. I also enjoyed the storyline (yes I know folks this game is not realistic) which mixed war with romance. :-)

I recommend this game emphatically. This is the first one I've playerd, but I've ordered "Air Attack" from Amazon zshops which I highly anticipate.

My dad and I really like to play this game. The graphics are excellent. You can also adjust the difficulty levels to make it as challenging for you as you like. Not to mention blowing up stuff is a great way to end a bad day! We still have a long way to go on it, but I look foreward to trying to outsmart my dad on the dual action. Have fun!

The first level is a dinner table! It makes me look like I'm on MY dinner table as a plastic army man!! I also like boot camp even though it's not like a real mission! I love the referagarater level! And I also love level 10! That level is not like some other levels, you try to save the BLUE nation! I also love multiplayer! I only hate how in two player you have to fight each other! Over all, a awsome game!! This is my first army men game TOO!!!!!!

Twisted Metal (2012) is based on a great franchise with excellent core gameplay. However, this newest release tries to apply an assortment of mode variations (taken from FPS and racing games) with questionable results.

Instead of being able to choose from a macabre cast of characters (as in past titles) you find yourself tied to (3) players: Sweettooth, Mr.Grimm, and Dollface (which are unlocked in that order). Each character has (3) 2-3 min movies that blend live-action and CGI to great effect, even though the middle cinematic is partially relegated to flashbacks from the original video.

Combat and vehicle handling are tight. Weapons are varied and mostly balanced, and the helicopter Talon is actually pretty fun to use. As a result, online play can be enjoyable if you select the right matches and modes. However, in an attempt to add variety, the modes too often stray from what is fun.

Once vehicles have been unlocked by a character's gang they can be used during other matches. It seems kind of odd to use Sweettooth on Mr.Grimm's motorcycle, or to drive Shadow with Dollface but that's what you'll find. (Axel is only playable as DLC). The good part is that you can use your favorite car in almost every level. However, the PROBLEM is that the new level designs almost force you to select certain cars to proceed in single player or be competitive online.

Ultimately, you end up choosing what works best for certain scenarios and less of who you would LIKE to play as. Twisted Metal was always a car combat game built around single elimination death matches. The new game changes that, and not necessarily for the better. On the rooftops there will be an inordinate number of people using the helicopter Talon.

Likewise, in checkpoint races everyone will choose Kamikaze or Crimson Fury (paint variations of the fastest vehicle). Here you must beat your opponents to certain destinations without missing too many gates. The problem is that this is NOT Mario Kart, or Blur where weapons will knock people off the track. In those games, any vehicle has a CHANCE to win. In this game Crimson Fury or Kamikaze will ALWAYS win. Unless you choose one or the other, you have absolutely no chance of winning. Missles and even special moves (with the exception of the magnet) will never knock the cars off of their path. In addition, going through checkpoints replenishes health.

Cage Matches force you to do battle in certain sections of a level surrounded by lighted green grids. If you stay outside the grid for too long, you take damage. The problem is that vehicles with less health/shields will usually die if you are not concentrating on making your way back into the "cage" at EVERY given moment. Less shields = more damage = death if you get lost enroute. I finally beat these levels with Mr. Grimm, but only because his special move does an insane amount of damage once you charge it up (160) and I killed each car with two direct hits and no misses. This does NOT work online with skilled players. Most people end up selecting the same tougher vehicles.

Other levels have Juggernaut trucks that endlessly respawn enemies. You must either destroy them and all the other vehicles on the map, or continue killing cars until you have reached a quota. This is more frustrating than fun, since it offers little opportunity to search levels for new weapons or ammo. Instead, you must destroy everything as quickly as possible and hope your vehicle spawns in a good location.

Throughout the 18 levels or so of single player there are only 2-3 REAL deathmatch battles. Ultimately this is where I feel most disappointed. Twisted Metal is NOT a FPS. Capture the flag (with gang leaders you return to a missle launcher), races, and cage matches really do not do the game mechanics justice. Combine that with a limited number of characters and cinematics, and I feel somewhat let down.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OVERALL:

So, all in all the core mechanics are still great. Graphics have low textures, but are still manageable. The 9 cinematics are well done (although more would have been welcome), and the helicopter is a decent addition to gameplay.

Yet aside from VERY SPECIFIC online modes, a lot of this game just isn't as fun as previous entries. The bottom line is that most of the new modes do not work in context. I wish this had been a game that played to the strengths of the series without trying to revolutionize the core gameplay.

Twisted Metal is probably still a game worth buying, but I ABSOLUTELY recommend waiting until the price goes below $30.

Mmkay, how to start... First off, don't hate the messenger! o_o This review is purely opinionated and should be taken as such. I'm the kind of gamer that's in it for the story and single player experience, thus I'm most likely not going to touch upon Online play. Sorry peeps. :( Plus, I'm doing this for the casual gamers out there, the ones who play for mindless fun, want a new game, and aren't hardcore 50+ hour gamers. If you're on the fence, I'm writing this for you! :) With that said, lets roll!

I really liked the game as a whole. Why? I'm glad you asked! :3 The graphics are were very nice! Very few levels to play, but they were huge! The cars are well made. The graphics don't go as far as KZ 2 or 3, but there is vast improvement since the release of TM: Black!

My moment of disappointment... Yes, it is true as other reviewers mentioned. There are only 3 characters who have a story in the campaign. The way it works is the cars that have different abilities, not the driver. So much for character individuality :(

I could go on about what other reviewers mentioned, but what I really want to put emphasis on is gameplay! I'm surprised people mention so little of it. If you wanna hear about characters and story, many others have written such. >_>

Ok, let me say that I'm am an avid gamer and I enjoy various genres and challenges! I can comfortably say I'm not the best gamer ever, but I'm pretty good (I'm not boasting, I swear!). o_o So now let me place the warning here:

CASUAL GAMERS BEWARE!!! lol

Having played the campaign mode on Normal difficulty, I'll admit, it was tough! O_O There are 3 difficulty levels, (Normal, Hard, Twisted). That's 3 difficulties of kicking player butt! D:

On top of a tricky button configuration, there is a LOT going on... When you play this game, you'll be dodging bullets and missiles, trying to aim a chargeable weapon, AND trying to maneuver important obstacles! This isn't a simple game, by no means! This game WILL in fact test your dexterity!

Something else to consider is your patience as a gamer! Personally, I can put up with a lot, but there were times where I became VERY frustrated! In the campaign, it will feel as if you (the player) are public enemy #1 at all times. The AI rarely fights each other, keep this in mind! ._. This is especially apparent when you fight a mini boss called the Juggernaut. It's a semi that has increased armor, has potent firepower, and spits out a new opponent to fight every so often if you don't beat him fast enough. When this mini boss gets a twin to help, and other enemy drivers are trying to kill you, it becomes one Hell of a fight... Then they make you fight 2 of them with badass upgrades further into the campaign... I nearly cried when I got to that stage... T-T

The races (yes, TM has races, crazy, I know :P...) can be tricky to maneuver when people are tossing your vehicle around with various explosions and ramming. They were fun, don't get me wrong, but in those moments of cheap shots, I was ready to use words that would stupefy an entire nunnery for generations to come! o_O

Oh I must absolutely mention the Electric Cage matches -.-

In a level, there will be a barrier that changes positions. Think of "capture the zone" type of gameplay. You have to fight in this barrier. If you stay outside the barrier for too long, health depletes. Now the challenge is trying to race to the next location, and often the AI would cheap shot me by freezing my vehicle (a special move that can be done) in place.

At the end of it all, I will say that this game made me work for that victory, lol! I personally appreciate that, but I also understand some gamers out there don't want an uphill battle, but in contrast seek mindless, casual fun. Just know that playing the campaign will be a challenge! :3

To conclude, my recommendation on buying this game, especially if you're the casual type, is to wait. I don't confidently think it's worth a $60 experience. BUT I will say I'm so happy I pre-ordered this, because Amazon had an offer to upgrade to the Limited Edition version, which came with a Redeem code that gives you a downloadable version of the PS2's Twisted Metal Black for free! I loved Black, so that was quite a bonus! The more skillful gamers out there will have a lot of fun with this game, but everyone else should know that there will be a struggle. I'd almost say you'll want to have the attitude of, "This is meant to be more challenge than entertainment". Definitely rent or borrow from a friend first, because the only way to know for sure how you'll like it is to play it personally! Other than that, I wish all of you happy gaming, good luck, and thank you so much for taking the time to read my review! :D

P.S. I'm so freaking sorry it's a long review, I was caught up in being informative! D:

PROS

The visual of this game is better than I expected. Environments and cars look pretty good.

Insane multiplayer mode, this game has probably one of the most exciting multiplayer modes.

I really could give this game 4.5 just because of the greatness of the multiplayer mode.

Sound effect and Soundtracks are just great, fits really well to the game(and i love More human than human by Rob Zombie)

Pretty dope campaign mode cutscenes

Huge maps and variety of weapons and vehicles.(which proly makes up for the lack of characters)

MP server is fixed!!!!

.

.

CONS

To be honest, Campaign story does not really live up to my expectations. I was expecting something close to TM Black.

Balance issues, especially Mr. Grimm's bike, it seems that there is really no point of choosing Mr. Grimm's bike, because you will die so quickly.

Little bit of Camera angle issues..

.

.

To be honest, i thought this game was going to be another overhyped disaster like the Brink

but Twisted Metal PS3 is actually a great game and it was definitely worth preordering.

I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5

Honest reviews on Twisted Metal

Twisted Metal does it again. I'm not gonna go ahead and spoil the good stuff, but this game is crazy. And of course twisted... Graphics are good, storyline and gameplay is awesome. If you've played the previous TMs, you'll see what I'm talking about ;].

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Twisted Metal

Like many others, I've been a long time fan since 1995. This is without a doubt the best Twisted Metal game ever made, but there are alot of issues that slightly disappointed me.

After already finishing story mode, I can say it is probably the most disappointing thing of all. The live action cut scenes are done very well, but the stories just aren't as interesting as I hoped they would be. Twisted Metal Black remains the highlight of the series as far as story telling goes. In Black we witnessed the depressing tale of Dollface, a terrifying realistic look at Mr. Grimm, and found out why Sweet Tooth's head remains in flames at all times. I was hoping for a story line with only 3 drivers to at least give an in depth look at these characters and see what really makes them tick. It doesn't even try to explain why Sweet Tooth has a flaming head. In one scene he's a normal guy, the next his head is on fire when he puts the mask on. What? Having such a quick shift with no explanation is no better than Twisted Metal 4's opening movie. Come on guys.

It's just disappointing in general not having all the unique drivers the series is known for. It was so much fun to go through with different characters to see their motivations and fate after winning the tournament. It added alot of replay value to the games, and I really do miss that aspect. Even though we have many familiar vehicles and special weapons making a return, there's just something strange about Mr. Grimm driving the iconic clown's ice cream truck or seeing Dollface fitted into Axel's killing machine. Another thing I really don't care for are the races. You race through checkpoints around large maps while blasting each other and trying not to fall off cliffs or rooftops. This can become very irritating, especially due to the fact that if you miss a certain amount of checkpoints you self destruct. Also, some of the boss fights are a little cheap, but they are epic encounters to say the least. These are gripes from a long time fan, but I just felt I had to address them.

In the long run, it's all about the gameplay and amazing multiplayer. Offline or online this game is so much fun. Fluid controls, dozens of levels, and tons of awesome vehicles make this game the best in the series by far. Co-op is as fun as ever, and being able to hop online with a friend in split screen is a blast. Custom paint jobs for all the cars is a nice little addition as well, plus a nice selection of different side arms like shotguns, semi-autos, and even magnums. I don't regret buying this game at all, and I'm so happy it's finally made a comeback. If you have never played a game in the series before, this is the place to start.

I purchased this as a christmas gift for my boyfriend. The controller is stylish and functional just like a regular corded Xbox 360 controller. The logo looks great on it and is very glossy. The only draw back is that sometimes the controller causes the xbox 360 to run slowly....like the game is trying to catch up with the controller. It only does is with this controller so it's not the xbox 360. Maybe the brand has something to do with it Mad Catz. I've always had this kind of issue with this brand...dated back to my Sega dreamcast days. I wish microsoft would make the logo controllers. I know that it would work perfect. Otherwise that small detail the controller is fine.

Fallout 1 / Fallout 2 Bundle - PC
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I just finished both games, and I highly recommend this bundle set to anyone who likes (1) RPG games, (2) Post-apocalyptic themed anythings, (3) games that don't make you do anything or (4) science fiction in general. The basic premise of both games, as recounted by numerous previous reviews, is that you have to make it in a world defined by the typical nuclear fallout (ahem) disaster. However, there are so many ways to make it, and they're all such fun, that these games should appeal to most people. Fallout 1 is a shorter game but in many ways is more elegant; if you play it conscientiously you'll have a feeling of satisfaction at the end for having seen and done most of it. Fallout 2 is much larger in scope and in time commitment, and unfortunately suffers a bit from it.. there are more bugs, more 'dead' items and quests that were intended to have some purpose in the game but never did, and so on. Some could argue this, in fact, merely adds to the gritty reality of a game where everything doesn't end up in a neat little package at the end, and there aren't answers to all the questions. Or maybe the programming staff was just overworked. In any event, the games are addictive and reward curiosity. High points:

1) Emphasis on character development. A karma counter keeps track of your overall good/badness, and as you progress you are offered various 'Perks' that enhance or define your character, such as Salesman or Demolition Expert or Kama Sutra Master. Others you earn through gameplay itself. Multiple avenues of play exist for any type of character..while your first character in both games is probably going to emphasize gunplay and high Agility, later on you can try a diplomatic or manipulative or pure thieving character as you see fit, and play what amounts to an almost completely different game.

2) So many explosions. These games have lots of fighting, on a turn-based system allowing for micromanagement of both yourself and your 'friendly' NPCs. Use burst fire to take out packs of charging wolves, aim your scoped hunting rifle at someone's leg to keep them from chasing you, send a rocket down a corridor into a pack of unsuspecting guards. It's all there..and the death animations are not for the faint of heart.

A few negatives:

1) As is typical in RPGs, making 'bad' or 'evil' decisions or dialogue choices tends to screw you. If you want, just pretend your evil character secretly enjoys the hypocrisy of agreeing to rescue someone's orphaned kitten with a boo-boo on its paw; it would be nice someday if RPGs rewarded evil characters for doing evil things.

2) Armor. Basically the goal of both games is to get your first suit of Power Armor. This transforms both games from a grueling, constantly-reloading ordeal of random accidental deaths and burst-fire horrors to a breeze. This, of course, makes perfect sense...once you're a walking tank, most things bounce off. However (although Fallout 2 handles this a bit better) there is very little middle ground..even with Combat Armor II (the next step down) you get mauled a lot.

3) Uncontrolled NPCs. Sure, by definition you shouldn't be able to control an NPC, but it can get truly annoying when one of your NPCs blasts something, and then moves 1 space directly in front of your other NPC for no reason, and then that second NPC, naturally, fires a machine gun directly into his head. It makes you wonder if 'friendly fire accidents' are really accidents. Depending on your party size, you can spend a lot of time watching your allies gun each other down like post apocalyptic three stooges.

Those aside, the games are very detailed and can be played as quickly or as slowly as one wishes, with numerous subplots branching off the main plot. The first game does have a timer for the completion of the main task, but that can be extended during the game, and in fact the game goes on (sans timer) once that task is completed. Fallout 2 does away with that completely, allowing you effectively all the time you want to explore. So if you always wondered if how Mad Max would have done if he'd had more ammo for his shotgun and access to the occasional flamethrower, pick them up.

Fallout, originally released in 1997 by Interplay, shook the world of computer roleplaying games. Quite simply, it redefined the structure of the computer RPG. Most CRPGs followed simple linear scripts: King Groo needs the Sword of Spork. So you go to the Cave of Fear to get it... et cetera, et cetera.

Fallout shattered all preconceptions about story progression. In Fallout, you can go where you want, do what you choose. Unlike other CRPGs, you don't spend your time playing "delivery boy" for other characters. There is a guiding storylinean extremely good onebut how you accomplish your goals is entirely up to you. The plot will change and adapt based on your actions in-gameit's like a new story every time you play it.

Every obstacle in the game has numerous possible ways to surmount it. Need a nice gun from a local arms dealer, but can't afford it? Do the gun merchant a favor and he might let you have it. Sweet-talk him into giving you a discount. Or steal it when he's not looking. If all else fails, blow him away and take the loot from his steaming corpse. Fallout really IS that open-ended.

The possibilities for character creation are extremely broad alsoinstead of a rigid "race/class" system, you can create your character from an incredible range of Skills, Traits, and Perks. Want to talk your way out of problems? Give yourself a high Charisma and the "Good Natured" trait. Prefer more direct solutions? Put extra skill points in Big Guns, and pick the "Fast Shot" trait for extra stopping power. Or create "combination" characterslike a friendly doctor who just happens to be a crack shot with his .44 pistol.

While Fallout 2 doesn't break any really new ground, it is almost three times as long as the first Fallout and takes place in a much larger game world. It's more of the same, but better. Getting BOTH of these excellent games for one super-low price is an incredible bargain. If you like science fiction, or you like RPGs, buy this software. You absolutely will not regret it.

Fallout is one of the few games that is worthy of being made into a full scale movie, simply because it has the few ingredients that most other games lack, namely a realistic, utterly immersive setting, a powerful storyline and, more so than anything, pure class. Fallout is rather irritatingly addictive simply because the world is so vast, so varied and with so much to do. The game has character you can taste, it has a personality that is strong and only gets better as the bold storyline, which takes risks that most other games would never dare take, progresses. Fallout FEELS real, the characters in the game, as far as you are concerned, are real people, the world acts and REacts to you. I ask you... Give me a game that left you breathless at the end, sad to see it end, yet proud, amazed at what you have seen. Give me a game that, in its every niche and pore, shows just how moch love and soul its creators poured into it. Give me a game that YOU feel, should be made into a movie and spawn countless sequels NOT because you want more of the same, but because there is far too much potential NOT to explore the possibilities in a world as rich and tangible as this. Give me a game that you think about, reminisce and dream about years after you last played it. When you do, I will die happy, but for now, I give you Fallout. Full stop.

Honest reviews on Fallout 1 / Fallout 2 Bundle (Jewel Case) - PC

The fallout series of games is the best computer role playing game I have ever had the pleasure of playing. One the greatist things about the game is it's setting. If your tired of fighting orcs and exploring castles let this game take you away from that. How about a tour of secert millity bases and burned out cities? Fallout does a wonderful job of taking role playing and setting it in a post nuclear-world. the fallout games really gives the player the feeling of advancing in power and maybe more importently of discovery. One of the things that kept me hooked was uncovering old secerts and visting long lost places. You really get the feeling of exploring and uncovering a wonderfully created world full of detail. The game also provides lots of quests and options. You can play how ever you like. A hero or a villain with out getting locked out of places because of your choices. The game also plays very well. the fire fights you get into are fun. You have a lot of control over how you want to fight. For example you can even chose to fire your weapon in diffrent ways depending on what it is. All in all this is a great game for anyone who enjoys computer roleplaying and would love to explore a post-nucler world filled with mutants, lasers and power armor

Only**** for 2 excellent games. Fallout won Role-Playing game of the year back in 1997. With fantastic graphics, a good story, and good game play, this was very enjoyable to play. In this game, you learn about the Vaults that were built when nuclear war became imminent. Years after the war, you are sent out as many others were to find a water chip as your supply depleting. You have a time limit to find the water chip, but when that task is done, the game is not. There is much to do in the Fallout world where you will find friends to help you out and will have many weapons at your disposal. Fallout2 take place 80 years after the first. You are the Chosen one. A descendent of the original character from the first game, you are sent on a mission to find the Garden of Eden Creation Kit which will restore the land in your village. This is a very large game. More area to cover, more missions to accomplish, more weapons, and more enemies to thrash. The gameplay and graphics are slightly better than the first, but this is also a very enjoyable game. Both games are turn based when fighting and you can create your own character. There is lotsa blood and very graphic when killing an enemy and there is plenty of adult themes and adult language, but you can tone it down with the adjuster. Overall, you will not find a better value and will be hard pressed to find games that are much better than these.

Motion Explosion is a compilation of 12 mini-games that have you balancing things, juggling things, grabbing things, and dodging things. In other words, it's a game whose main purpose seems to be so you can tell people, "Hey, I have a Kinect. Isn't it cool?"

To get started, you can choose a guest avatar or use yours. You can play with up to 4 players; to say it's a "four player game" is a bit misleading because you're not competing against each other at once, you're taking turns.

There are 12 mini games and each game has 10 levels of play. Here are the games:

Balance Beam. In this game, you hold a board over your head while different-shaped blocks fall on it. You have to balance them as they fall on your board and dump them into buckets to collect points. The level of control and responsiveness is very good--you can move the board up or down or tilt it at any angle as you're collecting blocks. Overall, I'd say this game was the most fun out of the group (5 of 5)

Crank it Up In this game you're cranking a shaft with your left hand. As balls fly down, you'll punch at the target with your right hand. Sounds like a promising idea, but it gets extremely frustrating when you punch and punch but can't connect because the game expects you to work within a 3D space on the screen, but it's hard to gauge 3D depth and distance on a 2D screen. This will be a recurring theme throughout these reviews (2 of 5)

Dodge Ball Here, "robo cannons" move around the court and shoot balls at you. You can dodge them or you can punch them with the boxing gloves you have on. I really wanted to like this one (who doesn't love a good game of dodgeball), but the game suffered from the sluggishness that plagues many Kinect games, where you might move quickly but your on-screen character feels like it's stuck in molasses. (3 of 5).

Heavily Armed This is a derivative of the "Balance Beam" game where you have a board strapped to your left arm and need to stack blocks in specific patterns as they fall. It's an interesting use of the Kinect, and may be fun in a group setting, but quickly gets tiring when you're playing alone (3 of 5).

Juggle Struggle Like Dodge Ball, this concept is a real winner but simply suffers in the execution (ironically, the same concept is executed much better in Wii Fit). You use your hands to toss objects in the air and try to keep them in the air, stepping on stars on the ground and avoiding bombs from time to time that are thrown at you. This game suffers mightily from the aforementioned problem of trying to gauge 3D depth on a 2D screen. At times you'll be hitting the ball with precise timing but still completely miss it. This one could have been the star of the title, instead I found it quite mediocre (3 of 5).

Off the Grid Here, you stand on the intersection of two conveyor belts, where blocks are moving toward you from two angles. You need to contort your body to avoid blocks. This one required at least 8 feet of space which I didn't have, so it was unplayable for me. (2 of 5)

Robo Control This is an interesting game where you control a remote controlled robot to try to collect points. You pump with your left hand and steer left and right with the other. In all honesty, it felt kind of pointless. The "pumping and steering" actions didn't simulate anything at all like real life. Plus, this was a game that would have been infinitely more fun if two players could play simultaneously going after the same targets, but each player has to wait their turn. (2 of 5)

Sack Hack This was a pretty fun game that was along the lines of juggling--you basically play a virtual game of "hacky sack" with multiple different-colored balls. The system will highlight which limb to use to hit the ball. I found this fun, but again a victim of the same problem as juggling, where you'd hit the balls with perfect timing, but the system would let the ball drop because you weren't in the precisely correct position on the 3D plain (3 of 5)

Shape Dodge In this game, a number of shapes are coming at you on a conveyor belt, and you have to move out of the way. If this sounds like Off the Grid, that's because it is, the shapes are just coming at you from a different angle. 2 of 5)

Star Hop This game is all about footwork. You collect stars coming at you on yet another conveyor belt by touching them with your feet, and avoid bombs by stepping or hopping over them. I found this pretty fun, but if you're someone whose Kinect is too close that it can't detect your feet, you will not enjoy this one, as it'll be impossible to jump out of the way (4 of 5)

Star Stream This is a game where you reach up and grab stars as they come toward you. Again, this should have been a lot more fun than it turned out to be. As with other games, reaction was sluggish at best (2 of 5)

Tilt Board This game is reminiscent of those old wooden maze games. You tilt a board to make a ball roll on it, and gather as many stars as you can while avoiding red holes and exiting the maze at a green hole. The controls are hardly intuitive--you move your left hand up and down to tilt the maze backward and forward, and move your right hand from side to side to tilt the board left and right. Probably would have been more fun if it just let you hold your hands in front of you and tilt your whole body. But as it was, it was disappointing (2 of 5)

You can either play a "Motion Mix" of three random games or play any of the game using "Free Play" mode. One cool feature of the game is that it'll give you in-depth statistics of how well you play each game and the progress you make.

You probably saw some recurring themes in my descriptions of the games. If you don't have at least 8-10 feet of space in front of your Kinect, it won't work for you. Many game suffer from sluggishness. The complexity of trying to figure out precise 3D space on a 2D screen can be frustrating. And even though there were 12 games, many of them felt monotonously similar to each other (there are more conveyor belts here than at an assembly plant).

There were a few other really annoying things about the game. The announcer throughout the game is a perky woman who's had about five cups of coffee too much, and there's no way to turn her off. Worse, when you fail to perform certain things, she'll get really snide and sarcastic. Now I don't mind this in games when the foul-up is my fault. But when it's the system fouling up and I get lambasted for it, that gets really, really annoying, enough where I want to punch the TV. Another little annoyance--after every game your avatar would celebrate wildly with a dance, even if he or she just scored no points. I wanted to slap my avatar and tell him to cut it out.

I should mention that this is a party game, and if you play all the games above in a party setting, I'm guessing it'll be a lot more fun simply because you're competing against each other and all are on a level playing field. But again, the inability for players to compete simultaneously is unfortunate.

I suppose if you practice enough times, eventually you'll learn how to adjust for idiosyncrasies like the depth perception and the sluggishness issues. But personally, I don't have the patience for that, not when there are plenty of other Kinect games (such as Kinect Sports and Dance Central) that you can just pop in and play out of the box.

Overall, I'd say that this would have been a great title a year ago, when the Kinect was first launched. In many ways, it feels like a demonstration title showing the capabilities of the Kinect. But I didn't really find it compelling as a stand-alone title. In fact, the impression I got from Motion Explosion is that it was very similar to those "shovelware" games we saw on the Wii, where a publisher would pack in a bunch of similar mediocre games on one title in hopes that people would snatch them up thinking they were getting a good deal. I'd say maybe it's worth $19.99 when it gets to the bargain bin. But for $39.99 there are plenty of other options.

This game by far has the best graphics I've seen so far but the games are very boring. The games don't last more than 1 minute for each player. Some of them only last 30 seconds. What fun can you get playing in 30 seconds.... please !!!

The follow up for the excellent original title has been launched. Will the series fall into the usual sports annual release malaise of small, incremental changes being hyped up as being huge to justify a retail price?

Fortunately, this is a new franchise (these seem to have little in common with the last gen UFC titles), so they have enough room to grow for a year or two. In this case, they've introduced a wealth of game modes. The career mode is the meat, with you going through 12 years of a career to become a Hall of Famer.

The controls have been simplified. I am able to avoid being pinned to the mat for entire rounds. True, I decided to focus on striking offense and ground defense, but the controls were still much easier to handle.

They also try to make rep more important. You can only unlock new trainers or new sparring partners when your rep and cred are high enough. The means of gaining rep, credibility, and popular are more than a bit boring. Interviews after the fight are boring. Public workouts are boring. Appearing at shows is boring. Weigh-in confrontations are boring. If these activities cannot be made more enjoyable, they shouldn't return.

The new addition of friends and rivals is a key addition. You can have feuds now and beating your rival gets you more cred than regular fights. If you train with a friend, you get stat bonuses. This is a brilliant little addition that isn't enough to hype as a major deal, but does provide a fun diversion.

Even with all of the pluses, there are major negatives. Load times are ridiculously long. 2-3 minutes to start a game is ridiculous and it seems to be consistently that slow. Visually, the fighters appear more plasticky than last year and clipping and issues of moves being stuck during transitions seems to be way more prevalent. And the irritating insistance that you pay $10 to play online if the game isn't bought new --and the request is repeated every time, even if you say no repeatedly --is infuriating. Asking once would be irritating, having to do it repeatedly is a waste of time.

I thought this game was very well thought out, and very well executed. As soon as I played the game demo off Xbox Live I was hooked. I bought a copy of it and it far outdoes the demo. I've played many of the Fight Night Games, and found them okay, but all together boring when all you do is just repeatedly knock guys out. In this game there are submissions, TKO's, and knockouts, not to mention the extensive ground game, clinch game, cage game, and striking game.

The striking system is excellent, and is ultimately more fun than any regular boxing game, with superman punches, ducking left hooks, and a host of other moves you can train your fighter to learn. The striking system while it still needs some work, you can duck, dodge, and come back with brutal counter attacks.

The submission system, is by far my favourite part of the game, I've knocked pleanty of people out, but there is something about twisting somebody's limbs, until finally screaming in pain they tap. There are so many submissions it's almost impossible for your specific fighter learn them all. The submission system is highly advanced, and is directly tied to your stamina bar. Instead of button mashing for this year's title, the new way to make them tap the mat, is the shining system, in which you rotate the right stick, as clean as fast as possible, to lock in your deadly submission. but don't be fooled submissions can be difficult, but once learned are the most enjoyable thing to do. Learning how your opponents energy and stamina bar relate to the submission, once that is learned, you can in the third round after losing the fight suddenly you put your opponent in rubber guard, and slap on a gogoplata, your opponent taps, and you watch in satisfaction, as you get up bleeding, but the Ultimate winner.

The graphics and smoothness of the game also make this amazing. When you do a flying armbar, it really has the amazing graphics as you jump up, flip your legs around your opponents head, extend your hips, and watch as they collapse and tap in agonizing pain, the graphics are amazing, and when superman punch somebody and watch there mouth guard, and half the blood in their mouth go flying you will know why.

The presentation is great in career mode, and they did a really good job of making you feel like an ultimate figher. There is so much more to this game, but you will have to buy it and find out the rest.

I just bought this game and I really like it. It's a lot better than the UFC undisputed 2009. This game has more options and slightly better game play. The career mode is so much better than the first game and as of now, at least, i find this game much more enjoyable than original.

As of the moment the online play is a bit iffy. When you are able to get into a game it is a lot of fun, but at the moment it's hard to find a game.

I also really like the idea of your own fight camp. the fight camp is not up yet but when it does come up I can see that being one of the best and more exciting things about this game. I also like how it looks as though the fight camps are associated with the career mode. That can make things interesting

With all the options and the leader boards and such this looks to be a Good game and I look forward to getting to know this game a bit more.

I am a HUGE UFC fan! I am also a fan of Xbox 360. I got this game as a gift and i have been playing it ever since. The gameplay is incredible. The fighters look so real and their personalized moves and behaviors are very realistic. I am very happy with the changes from the 2009 version. The submissions are cooler (and much more options). The number of fighters seems unlimited. I was able to get the unlocked characters from the ultimate fighter show which was pretty cool as well. I created my own fighter and gave him my own personal attributes including my tattoos and fighting styles. The online community is soo cool, you can join training camps and even download the fight card from upcoming PPV events. I have had friends and family over to watch UFC fights and now before the fights begin, we warm up with the UFC undisputed 2010. Its such a huge hit, my wife even started playing!!

Overall, i think this an awesome game and a real tribute to any UFC fan!

Great JOB!!!

I would definately recommend this game to anyone!!!

I've played every UFC game, the PRIDEfc games, even K-1 haha. But this is by far the best MMA game ever released. The sheer number of fighters on the roster is impressive enough to get even the most casual fan to wanna drop some serious cash on this. The controls being revamped this year make the ground game much more enjoyable than 2009. My favorite aspect is probably the new career mode! Being able to control whether you respect a fighter or not adds to the realism of this game. I would give it 10 stars if I could!

Ok, let me start by saying I was frustrated for a day or two with the Kinect controls of the menus and in game changes. Once you get used to them though you can play this game and be addicted. If you change the shot difficulty to harder settings you will be playing a brand of golf that feels as good as a golf simulator. It will pick up all of your swing flaws. You must make a smooth and proper swing to get the best results. If you over swing the ball will go where it would if you were at the golf course. I am addicted to this game already. The putting and chipping takes some getting used to but gets easier and is pretty realistic. Especially the putting. The hardest part is setting up your shots to punch out of the woods or change your putting aim. If you aim a little further back of the hole on uphill putts the ball will roll out more. You can set the greens to fast and it will make you feel like you are putting at The Master's as your ball goes rolling by the hole on downhill puts. What fun.

***Here is the best part. I picked up a short weighted golf club called the SKILZ GOLF TEMPO AND GRIP TRAINER from skilz golf and am using it during Kinect play. It works great. I covered it with some black electrical tape and the sensor does not pick it up. The short club is pretty realistic and has a grip training grip on it. Costs under 20 bucks on amazon. This will enhance your game play ten fold. If you are a lefty you may be able to get one also . Another thing is if you want to face side on to the TV move your sensor of to the side of the TV on a stand or a stool or something and you can then at least stand on an angle to the TV sideways.

GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY...

tiger woods 13 isn't like the past years........the new swing mechanics have been introduced.....i found the swing arc almost gimmicky, but i found the tempo to be a leap forward. this game feels more like a golf simulation than arcarde, at that will work for golf aficionados, but also takes a bit of the fun out for casual gamers...the new putting sytstem is frustrating, and i can't help to think they should have stayed with last year's version. it is just too easy to blast you ball past the whole or leave it short with a putt that goes two feet. graphically, the game is superior to other versions.

i suspect that this game will be loved by some and hated by others. something is just missing in this game, and it is the fun factor, imo. on the other hand, if you love creating your own shots, and taking into account if you want to dig at the ball, slow or increase your tempo, and adjusting the swing plane, then this game is going to give you tons of frustrating enjoyment. just get used to 2-3 putting on the green.

****update***

i realized how unfair 3 stars was to this game that is revolutionary for the series...the new swing system takes a learning curve but it is great. for the first time, club selection is needed, as well is playing from deeper cuts, and bunkers..in previous editions of tiger, it almost didn't matter if you were in the fairway or second-cut. this year the degree of difficulty resembles that of true golf. you really do have to play the course. i am still not a fan of the putting system, but given the graphics, the presentation, and the new swing selection this is a game that will give you plenty hours of frustrating enjoyment...a good walk spoiled...enjoy!

Best Deals for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 - Xbox 360

The Good:

*Beautiful presentation: gorgeous golf courses and realistic golf sound effects

*Lengthy career mode

*Tiger Legacy Challenge could be a stand-alone title by itself

*Online Country Club and other online features are a great addition

*Adjusted swing mechanic

*Great way to create and customize your own golfer and ability to use XBOX Vision cam for a face

The Bad:

*Putting and some other aspects of the game deliver a steep learning curve.

The Bottom Line:

I like playing golf; However, golf can be costly and time-consuming and not to mention there is actual skill required! Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13's great graphics, sounds and gameplay can satisfy your golf craving without the need to buy the golf clubs.

Some of the new features from last year include improved swing mechanic. Most of your shot will depend on how well you move the thumbstick, which could be a good or a bad thing, depending on how shaky your hands are or how well your thumbstick actually moves. If you got issues with your thumbstick, you will have a frustrating time.

Country Clubs feature will allow you to go online and join groups with others friends or complete strangers who share same interest and/or skill level as you are to see who is the best and compete in online tournaments.

Boost Pins feature mirrors other EA sports games that involve buying "packs" with your hard-earned coins from game play. Boost pins can you the edge (make your shots more powerful for some time, for instance) in the game.

Tiger Legacy Challenge: This is my favorite new feature, which deviates from previous Tiger titles. This mode was so enjoyable to me, I think it would've been a great stand-alone title by itself! This gives you a chance to relive Tiger Woods' life from toddler years and all the way to the future(2019 to be exact is the year of the challenge to break Jack's record.) This mode is also a great way for new players to learn the game. Your first challenge goes back to 1978 where you take control of a 2-year old Tiger and your goal is to sink a short putt on the Mike Douglas Show. As you complere challenges, you unlock Tigers' next phases of life, where he learns to swing out of the bunker from the sandbox of his playground and chipping shots into his mother's purse.

As an 8-year old Woods, you get other challenges, such as beating kids who are older in Youth Championships. All of these mirror his life events, which include short video montages as well.

After a while you go on to represent 1994 Stanford and US Amateur team. Then follow more difficult challenges of Tiger when he was unstoppable. After that follow the future challenges where you must guide Woods to win the 2014 Major. There are some very fun notable challenges, such as competing with Jeremy Roenick, 2018 Dwight Howard and even shooting a commercial. This mode looked and sounded great right from the start, especially when you get to play as a chubby 2-year old Tiger Woods.

Some negatives of the game include the frustration of putting. Putting on the green is way more difficult than it should be in a game. Your thumbstick control must be superb. One accidental twitch and your putt attempt is ruined. Sometimes I found myself choosing to chip shot from 2-yards out instead of using a putter. Some minor gameplay issues, such as unrealistic bounce here and there will be noticed, but its not enough to ruin the game.

The game constantly reminds you of your lifetime challenge and achievement status(your birdie total and such,) which pulls you in and keep you going. This is definitely not a short game by any means as it will take you a long time to complete all the challenges. Combine that with the online gameplay and your joy for golf and this is a great title to invest in if you like golf.

Honest reviews on Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 - Xbox 360

I have played every game in the Tiger Woods franchise and I have to say this is the best and most engaging Tiger to date. The total swing control takes a few hours to get used to but then its becomes clear that this was the change that the franchise needed. Many argue that the physics of the swing/putting are too demanding and frustrating. And maybe to players new to the game they might seem daunting, but once you catch on they are consistent and rewarding. And sure you can still drive the ball 400+ and break 50 in a round...but really only on the easier difficulties, which in turn rewards you with less status, coins and exp. Now, as for the whole coin system...

Many amateur and pro reviewers have bashed to coin system (the in-game currency) for being a misleading and insulting tease by EA. I can't disagree enough! Coins are earned by playing and playing well, and can be redeemed for Pins (more later) and for rounds at DLC courses. Now once a DLC course is mastered (takes at least 6+ rounds) it is unlocked for unlimited play. This is where the critics say the (6000 coins for a round, 3 for 12000) system is just a "tease" and baits players into just buying unlimited round for 400 Microsoft Pts. BUT, they all fail to mention (or maybe realize) that by buying just one round with coins -and downloading the courseyou can also play the course during you PGA Tour season if the course shows up. That means you can play 4 rounds + Training and Sponsor Challenges at the course WITHOUT even spending the round you had bought. So it is actually possible to master any DLC course while only having to "buy" 1-2 rounds with the coins. And then the course is yours for unlimited play!

I say that is a pretty good deal, and something that was never an option on previous versions. TW 13 allows you play your way to free courses. I now have all 37 courses (Yes 37 courses!) with unlimited play and I didn't pay an extra penny to get them. Also, if a course that you do not have (yet) comes up during your PGA Tour season, you have the option to change the course for the event, so there is no need to skip it. I know this was an issue on last years game, but I still find it repeatedly in reviews for this edition. It makes me wonder if all of the reviewers have actually played the game, or at least give it a fair chance!

So I need to ask: how is this years TW considered to be an outrageous showing of EA Sports disdain for the consumer and a new level of greediness?? This new system is the most fair and balanced way to integrate the DLC courses, and just about everyone I play with online completely agrees. Like I said before, all previous games required the player to buy the DLC courses with MSP and they were not cheap! I say kudos to EA for rewarding the gamers who are taking the time to enjoy all aspects of the game and its longevity. I honestly can not remember the last sports game I have played this much (even after reaching 1000 GS). This is in large part due to the coin, pin and country club additions...

The Country Club system in a priceless addition to the franchise. Up to 25 players join and work together to level up their club. There are daily and weekly club tournaments (set by the club GM on the EA website), head-to-head club and inter-club play, weekly leaderboards and more. The Club system is just great as it gives players a more involved experience vs just playing another yourself-against-the-world sports game. Our club is now in the top 35 in the world, and we are constantly congratulating and motivating each other to play well and keep playing. Each week the highest scorer of the club is crowned the Club Champ and is invited to a Club Champ-only weekly tourney where the top players from every club go up against one another. The top 5 players below the club champ are named the Club "pros" and they are also invited to a club pro-only weekly tourneys. Good, good stuff.

Finally, the new pin system adds another clever feature across all game modes. There are 3 main types of Pins: Boost, Player and Course. Boost Pins can be added to your "bag-tag" for a single round to boost your players stats. There are also Player Pins that give all-around stat boosts to the associated player. And then the most innovative new pins; the Hole and Course Pins. Every hole in the game has a pin that can be acquired, well actually 3 stacking pins: Bronze, Silver & Gold. (A few years ago they dabbled with this idea in the form of course exp, which would increase your "Luck" and caddy knowledge of a course the more time you played it, but this is a much better system) Each pin you have on a course increases the exp and status you receive after playing a round. Once you have all 18 pins, you get a course pin which increases the value of any boost or player pins you use at that course. And, of course, these all stack from bronze to gold. Once you rack up some course pins, you can really start raking in the exp, status and coin rewards. Very addicting and adds a greater incentive for continuing to play the game.

The pins are bought in packs from the store using coins. There is a variety of different "pin-packs" available for the pins you are after. Special offers also pop up from time to time. Extra coins can be purchased using MSP but I never found this necessary if you play the game enough and want to progress proportionately, but is a nice option for those who want to level up their player/courses quickly.

Online play remains the same for the most part, save for the addition of the country club features. Daily and weekly tournaments galore, plus the "Play-the-Pros" and a few other special events such as "Tiger Balls" where the top players are basically entered into a lottery drawing for a large coin bonus-pretty cool. Head-to-head matches also have an improved "skill" rating system used for match-making, etc. Sadly, the "GamerNet" system is gone, which is kind of a bummer b/c it was always quite satisfying to be able to save and post those miracle shots that you can pull off. I guess it was passed on to make room for all of the other extra features.

All that being said, the game in not without its flaws. The game is still plagued by glitches such as ball placement and physics in certain areas of certain courses. The only good thing is that they do seem to be consistent, so once you know where they are you can avoid them (ex. your ball clearly lands in a bunker but you are placed in the rough, or the ball may take unrealistic bounces off the flagstick). The glitches are really not that big of a deal in normal gameplay, but can be frustrating when you have a great round going. Far from a deal breaker to me, and I think some reviewers get overly upset about this. If you consider that the game has THOUSANDS of SQ/ACRES of playable land, to me it would be quite a programming feat to have every square inch function 100% properly. The game does freeze a little more often than should be acceptable, mostly during loading screens. Again, frustrating, but not a deal breaker. I think many of the errors are due to the rushed release of the game, and that being considered, it is for the most part an impressive final product.

So I'm sure you can tell by now that I highly recommend this Tiger Woods. As a golfer and a gamer, this Tiger is a huge step in the right direction for EA Sports. Please take the negative reviews with a grain of salt as so many of us have become accustomed to games that are at or approaching perfection. This is incredibly difficult to accomplish with a golf-sim, by EA is doing a great job and getting better every year. The negative reviewers overemphasize the games issues and unjustly dismiss this excellent game. So give it a try yourself and you can be the judge of that!

Hope this helps anyone on the fence!

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! Not only is it buggy, but very frustrating as well. Let's start with the bugs.

At times you caddy will not work. Why? Don't know. On the next shot it will, but every so often, it just doesn't display it's help. Now for some, this may not be a problem. But for me and other people, it is. We play these sports games because we are not able to play nearly as well in real life. So when the caddy feature does not work, I may as well be on the greens myself.

The game freezes. A lot. And we all know how to fix an Xbox freeze, you turn it off and start again. You end up consistently hoping that you can get thru your round before another freeze. And what's worse, if you're using boost pins they will disappear when you restart. The game considers you're freeze as you quitting. Try playing in a live Tournament, you only get to enter once. Also, after a freeze, you end up getting a DNF. Get too many DNFs and some tourneys may not let you play.

The flagstick disappears when trying to line up a shot on to the green. How am I to know where the hole is when trying to line up a shot? Just wing it? Hope for the best?

Now for the frustrating parts. The wind is annoying not because its wind, but because it's inconsistent. One hole it's blowing south at 24mph, the nest it's blowing north at 35mph. 95% of the time it's at your front, making the whole even more difficult. I know the wind can't always be at your back, but since when does the wind lead a golfer thru a round.

Weather is also an issue. Just about every other round has rain it. After making it to the Pro Tour, there just hasn't been a sunny weekend. Since when are golf courses created under permanent rain clouds? Is this weather there to make it harder for me? I thought that's what the difficulty settings where for. And again as I stated earlier, I don't want a round of golf to be as bad as I am in real life. I play a video game to do what I can not.

How about putting? Decent unless you just barely miss the green and land on the second cut. Then you have no option from the caddy to putt. The caddy at times has two choices you can pick from to set up your shot. But if you miss the green, and even ever so slightly, the caddie will not have putting one of those options. You can still select the putter and putt, but you'll get no help. I believe in real life the caddie would be fired for refusing to help the golfer line up his putt. This game tho he defies you. So line up your putt, hope you have it the option to putt preview, because lining up your putt from the second cut is harder than it looks.

You do not have access to all golf courses. You either have to spend coins to unlock rounds, or spend $5 to purchase the course. To purchase all courses, $95. That's not including the $50 or so it took to first purchase the game. It wouldn't be so bad if the courses you had yet to buy weren't on the Pro Tour. But yes, I have to skip some tourney's because I refuse to spend extra money on courses that are on the schedule of career mode. I could uses coins, but those are slow to accumulate and it takes 12000 coins to get three rounds. No option for 4 rounds other than real money. So I can't even purchase the course with coins to play in the tourney, I'll be short one round. So now I would have to spend the 12000 coins and play the greatest three rounds of my life so I Gold master the course so I have unlimited rounds and finally play it within career mode. Bad news tho. Can't Gold Master a course in 3 rounds let alone 4. You have to get 100 pars or better. 5 rounds isn't even 100 holes. You have to do 6 rounds, and then you can only bogey 8 times total in all 6 rounds. So 24000 coins to Master a course IF you can bogey less than 8 times.

All in all, worst game ever from EA. I would pass this game up in favor for an arcade golf game from Xbox Live.

Update!! So I get to Dubai for a tournament. Now I'm thinking, it's rained in every tournament I've been in so far. But hey! I'm in Dubai, where it rains very little, on average 5 times a year and mainly just during the cooler months of November to April. I should have a nice sunny weekend...Nope!!! It rained!! Gale force winds and rain!! Oh for the love of.....!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I now no longer have this game. Traded it in.

I must say, Bandai does have my interest. A game that lets you create your own character and meet the Inuyasha cast, building relationships with them? Sounds pretty good. The story involves the original character you can control, who you pick is male or female, winds up getting transported to the feudal era and encountering none other than everyone's favorite dog-demon. Shortly afterwards you team up with the regular cast of the show, including Kagome, Shippo, Miroku, and Sango. Having played the demo, I can confirm the game will feature the English Dub cast, such as Richard Cox, Moneca Stori, Jillian Michaels, and the rest. Inuyasha also follows you around on the game map, similar to, say, how Pikachu follows Ash in Pokemon Yellow. Although the graphics are nothing ground-breaking, they are at least okay to look at, despite the fact that the characters are in a super-deformed style similar to the older Final Fantasy games, but you must admit seeing a chibi Inuyasha running around isn't boring, to say the least. Sadly, I wasn't able to experience combat yet, but the game does seem to be satisfying on the most part. Apparently this game will also include the many aspects of the series, including the action(boss battles) romance(relationship forming... hmm....), and humor(...... if you've seen the series you'll probably have an idea), so the game looks to be at least satisfying to the Inuyasha fans, like me. I wouldn't know about the casual RPG fans yet, though. But still, being an Inuyasha fan I can must say I am looking forward a lot to this title. See you in November for a full review.

Inuyasha: Secret of the Cursed Mask is one of my most highly anticipated games! If you haven't heard already, it's an action/adventure RPG created by Bandai in which you journey with the cast of Inuyasha! As if that alone weren't enough to make a fan foam from the mouth, the game also allows you to form relationships with the characters, battle alongside them, and wander through the beautiful environments created by Rumiko Takahashi. The plot, created just for the game, maintains a nice, anime feel. A young boy or girl (whichever one you like more) falls down a wormhole and into feudal Japan. There, he/she is met by Inuyasha, a dog demon with a quick temper, who introduces him/her to the rest of the cast. Your character will meet Kagome, a cheerful schoolgirl from present day, Miroku, a (...) wise monk, Sango, a fierce demon slayer, and Shippo, a cute fox boy who isn't above the occasional trick. Inuyasha and friends agree to help him/her find his/her way home on one condition: that he/she help them find the Cursed Mask. The game is voiced by the American cast, so you can expect to enjoy the vocals of Richard Cox, Moneca Stori, Kirby Morrow, Kelly Sheridan, and Jillian Michaels. The graphics are also true anime style, bubbly and childish. Personally, I really don't see what's wrong with them (I think they're actually very cute). But hardcore RPG fans might be put off with the game for that precise quality, which is unfortunate for them. Basically, if you are a true blooded Inuyasha fan, you'll LOVE this game. If you aren't one, you might not find it completely up to par.

I really enjoyed this game! I'm a HUGE Inu-Yasha fan and I really loved the battles and the interaction you have with the characters. It was nice to see everyone from the series in it and having you as the main character, get to form some kind of relationship with them, be it positive or negitive. What I was really happy with, was the fact that they used the actual voices from the series instead of impostors. Definately worth the money. I look forward to the next game to coming out. A must for all Inu-Yasha fans!

Honest reviews on Inuyasha: Secret of the Cursed Mask

Inu Yasha has never been my absolute favorite--a mild interest, but never transcending that. However, good RPGs are hard to come by, unless you're talking about SqareSoft Games *coughFinalFantasycough*, and I was glad to find out that Inu Yasha had an RPG out. The manga was beautiful, but the anime left something to be desired, especially the despicable English dubbed version. Thus, I purchased the game.

STORY:

There are so many things wrong with this game! Firstly, the storyline is completely unoriginal. Yes, there are two "new" character "created specifically for the game by Rumiko Takahashi herself".

Too bad they're completely lacking any personality. The game developers were too uncreative to come up with a new plot using the original Inu Yasha characters, so they decided to make up new characters and simply replay the original story: Kid has traditionalistic Japanese background -Kid accidentally travels back to Feudal Era -Kid needs to get back to original time. Oooh. Talk about uniqueness.

DIALOGUE:

Secondly, the dialogue is laughable. Do they really expect me to quiver in fear when a loin cloth-clad demon hobbles over to me and exclaimes, "I'm gonna eat you! Blarg-har-har!". What does your character do? Threaten him with his cell phone. Wow, Takahashi's new characters are certainly lacking common sense. Later in the game, when your character is informed that Sango is a demon slayer, he/she asks: "A Demon Slayer? What's that?" Be careful you don't hurt yourself over that answer.

When main characters talk, an anime cut-out picture of them appears on the screen, and the dialouge appears underneath while the voice-over plays. The voice-overs, I feel, were horribly done. In one scene, Kagome will unleash an ear-splitting shriek of horror, however, in another scene she dully 'screams' out "Ahh." An exclamation mark isn't even included. The lines are dull, and many times, lines like "I see", "Oh", or "These enemies are all talk" (a personal favorite, since none of the monsters utter a word in battle) are over used and wasted.

Also, for the historical context of the game, the dialogue of the NPCs is completely out of place. Obviously the people of Feudal Japan did not speak the same as us. At some points, it sticks true to history; for example, one man refers to the village headman as "M'lord", but most of the people speak completely out of context. I don't know about you, but phrases like "Dude", "Bummer", and "Bring it on" don't exactly remind me of Feudal Japan. However, this might simply be a translational flaw.

GRAPHICS:

"This game can't possibly be a PS2 game," I thought while playing it. The only three-dimensional aspect of this game are the character designs--which, I might mention, other than the Inu Yasha cast, all the other people look exactly the same with different colored clothing. Even the characters aren't very detailed. Granted, they're in "chibi" form,(super-deformed, whatever you want to call it; basically a child-like redition of the original character) the character designs are too block-like and chunky.

The scenery, much to my horror, although lovely, was completely two-dimensional. Meaning, you were only able to walk on a water-color painted path. Many times, because of the horrendous lack of much-needed adjustable camera angles, it was excruciatingly frustrating to figure out where paths began and end, which doorways could be entered, and simply, WHERE THE HECK YOUR CHARACTER WAS! The screen would stay stationary as you became a wandering dot in the distance traveling down the path. If the game designers were too lazy to design the scenery, the least they could do was give you some control over what you saw with camera angling.

MUSIC:

Some pieces in the game are pleasant, if existent. The major problem with the music was that most of the time, it simply wasn't there. Traveling through long, nearly un-navigatable paths call for some pleasant background music to take your mind of the fact that this game has absolutely NO MAPS, save your simplistic "World Map".

I guarantee you will be ready to feed this game to your dog after trying to figure out where the heck you are without a field map. But back to music, the only sounds while traveling across the field is a loop of tweeting bird noises. Very engaging, yes? Battle music is obnoxious after your tenth battle, and battles are stifflingly frequent. While a few songs are engaging, the music plainly stinks because of lack of variety. Almost every village has the exact same song, and it becomes boring very quickly.

BATTLE:

Trying to seperate itself from the "random battle" system of many earlier RPGs, the game designates hazy purple clouds as "high encounter areas" where your character is more likely to enter battle. The only way to "reduce" these encounters is to walk, and walking is slower that a tranquilized slug saturated in molasses. Battles occur much too frequently, and they're turn-based, as opposed to the Zelda "hack-and-slash" battles.

The battle system quickly bored me, but what bothered me most was the unimaginative monster designs. Like our handsome little loin cloth demon in the beginning, the monsters in the game run along the lines of "Rabid Badger Monks", and such. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to take on a religious badger in battle. In all, there are probably 10 different monster types, but depending on which area you're traveling in, they all look the same but have different colors and names.

Bats, wolves, ghosts; these are not Rumiko Takahashi's creative and beautifully horrifying demons I fell in (figurative) love with. These are your typical RPG monsters, and not even very good ones at that. They're names aren't very creative either. "Death Mask" and "Rabid Wolf" don't strike much fear in my heart, but occasionally the designers decide to get fancy and throw out some unpronouncable "Japanese" sounding name, just because they can.

SOUND EFFECTS:

To put it quite simply, there are none. In fact, the designers actually wrote in the battle sound effects. "Whack", "Dong", "Boom"; you get the idea. Magic spells, or any other attacks that aren't directly offensive get a little more technical, but not much more. Your character, harnessing the powers of the "Shikigami", (another one of those wtf Japanese-sounding words)says virtually the same thing whenever summoning the power. Perhaps the most technical sound effect in the entire game is the ever-engaging twittering bird-loop. And that was sarcasm.

INTERACTIVITY:

Wow! Your own original character can interact with the Inu Yasha cast!! It's like a dream come true! Oh my god, I'm hyperventilating with joy!

Sorry, it's not exactly like that.

To be quite blunt, other than walking, battle, and choosing what character you spend your "days off" with, there is absolutely no level of interactivity in this game whatsoever. Nada. Zip. Everything you say is predetermined (and often very degrading to your character's reputation, since most of the time whatever he or she says is stupid or senseless) and there's nothing you can do about it.

The humorous thing, however, is that it almost appears that the Inu Yasha cast realizes your character's evident stupidity, and none of them really enjoy your company. My personal opinion is that they'd be overjoyed when you return to your own time, and are only "assisting" you to get you out of their hair.

OVERVIEW:

Overall, it seemed like the only purpose of this game was to get it out onto the market as quickly as possible while Inu Yasha was still popular. It's completely lacking the imagination of Takahashi's series and the beautiful music from the anime.

For future reference:

A field map would be greatly GREATLY appreciated. Not knowing where you're going and high monster encounter frequencies are not a good combination, especially when the only places where the game can be saved is on the World Map, or an occassional random "save cat". (Go figure that one out.)

Like transfering a book to a movie, when adapting a series into a game, it's wise to stick with the original storyline. Fans feel save in familiar territory, and it gives newbies a feeling of security when they talk to fans. Throwing in new major characters can be successful, but only when done well.

Keep things in one dimension. If they wanted it two-dimensional, the designers should have gone the "Paper Mario" way. Mixing 2-D and 3-D produced a confusing and unpleasant hybrid to the eye.

Music is a vital part to a video game, especially field music. Traveling through tedious fields isn't so bad if the background music is relaxing or engaging; bird-loops are simplistic and dull.

Overall, I'd avoid this game regardless of whether or not you're a fan. Fans will be appalled with the unimaginative character dialogue and flat plot line. Newbies will be baffled by character references (If you don't know who Naraku is, the Inu Yasha characters will make sure you feel plenty stupid) For gamers (RPG hardcore or not), the flaws are too apparent not to notice and are a serious handicap to the enjoyability of the game. You're best off waiting for something better to come along.

Okay, I'll admit, this RPG isn't as involving as say, Final Fantasy, but it's still good. If you are a fan of the Inuyasha series, I highly recommend it. The graphics are good, not great, but, well, how can you not love a chibi Inuyasha? (Although a chibi Shippou is kind of redundant...) The gameplay is your standard RPG far; go fetch this, save this person, do this little mini-game, fight a turn-based battle, so forth and so on. Then again, the element that draws any fan of the show isn't really the gameplay, it's the joy of being able to interact with the characters from the show. Based on your actions and who you choose to spend time with (or don't choose to spend time with) you can get one of 12 possible endings. Just a note here, in order to get the second ending with that person, you first have to play through the game, get that persons first ending (which unlocks their second ending), then play through the game again to view the second ending. This is what gives the game it's replay value. After all, you want to see all the ending don't you?! (On a personal note, I have unlocked Sango's first ending, now I'm trying to unlock Sesshomaru's, because I love him.)

The gameplay itself can be a little mind-numbing because this game has a very high random battle rate. This is especially noticable when you start your second game, because you keep the stats from your first game, making the first hundred or so battles one hit kills on your part (although, this is also good since you don't waste so much time and can get to the ending quicker).

The script for the game is a little bit of a double edged sword. You get authentic voice acting from the cast you've grown to love, BUT, the dialogue itself is asinine.

All in all, this is an average RPG, that people who don't like or know the show should just rent. But for those of you like me, who love Inuyasha, it's definately a must buy.
