I recently experienced my very FIRST RROD on my xbox. It was out of warranty and I was comfortable opening it anyway, so I did some Google searches to try to figure out what I could do. I found out info about the XClamp mod so I decided to go for it.
Here was my issue though; finding all of the washers. The screws recommended on some sites I found, but for some reason I couldn't find enough of the right washers in several hardware stores.
Leave it to Amazon to have what I needed. I searched and found XBRDepot selling a LOT of the washers that I needed! I decided to buy the 100 bag of nylon washers, along with the metal ones and the screws, all from the same company. When the nylon washers came, I was surprised how solid they felt. Much better than the ones I found at Home Depot. What you see in the picture they posted is exactly what you get.
Overall I was very pleased with my purchase and thanks to it, I was able to not only save MY xbox, but I used the left overs to help two of my friends too. If you are thinking about trying to fix your own RROD or e74 error, Google XBRDepot and look at their instructions. It will take some time (especially if you haven't opened your xbox before) but it will save you a lot of money. Once you learn how to do it, go back to Amazon and purchase the parts! You won't be sorry purchasing from XBRDepot through Amazon.
