I was afraid that this drive would not work correctly since it is not

an officially Microsoft licensed product, but I am very pleased with it!

The actual capacity seen through the Xbox is 294GB but this is

normal and is even true for the official Xbox 360 hard drives.

Same functionality as the much moe expensive official hard drive

but does the exact same job!

If you are planning to purchase this drive with the intention of playing your old xbox games on your shiny new 360 slim, BEWARE! This drive, like many of the other third party xbox hard drives, does not have a special partition which contains the xbox emulator software. If you try to play an original xbox game you will get a message that says "The game could not start. Please download the game again."

The only way to restore this capability would be to connect the drive to a PC and use some xbox hacking program to restore "partition 2", which contains the emulator.

If you can't be bothered, then you should probably just spend the extra cash and get the official Microsoft version.

Other than this flaw, however, this drive works perfectly. You'll be able to install xbox 360 games, download music/movies and do whatever else you like. Contrary to some statements, installing a third party drive is not a "mod" and will not get you banned from xbox live.

If you already own the 4Gb version and don't mind getting a little involved, this might be a good way to save some money in the upgrade. If you have the opportunity though, I would recommend skipping the trouble and just purchasing the 250Gb xbox in the first place

Everything else about the hard drive is great. It has lots of space, it is easy to install, and it works with all 360 games perfectly.

However, if you are at all interested in playing old Xbox games, this will not work at all. Even if you try and download something like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory from the xbox marketplace, it won't play on this hard drive.

Kind of a bummer, but if that doesn't matter to you, then this hard drive is a much better alternative to paying twice as much for a Microsoft drive.

Honest reviews on Hausbell ® 60G HDD Hard Disk Drive for Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim

This hard drive is great in every detail, Affordable, capacity(actually reads 297GB not 320GB) and Installs all of my games, DLC, and music. I would recommend this to all of my friends. And did I mention the shipping speed? I ordered this on Tuesday night and got it on Friday After-Noon, the best part is I only paid for standard shipping speed 5-9 days and I got it in only three business days. The only con is that third party hard drives aren't backwards compatible so if you have any Xbox original games they won't work on your 360, But this is not the issue with me(I only have 360 games). Don't waste your hard earned cash on the over priced Microsoft brand, this does the exact same thing. It's not modding or hacking so don't be afraid of getting banned form XBL, this is no different from sticking a USB storage device(with hard drive advantages) in your xbox. Hope this helps!

Well, I will first start off by telling you it's not a WD drive, but it's still made by a decent manufacturer. It is made by Hitachi, and they are owned by Seagate. Seagate is extremely reputable in the world of hard drives. Although WD is on top, so you're still getting a decently reliable drive.

This drive will NOT play backwards compatible games stock. You must hook to your computer via SATA (requires SATA data port on motherboard and SATA power off power supply). You must then download Xplorer360 Xtreme2, and find a "partition2.bin" file on the internet or from a genuine drive. Then it's just a matter of recovering that partition with Xplorer360. Now my Xbox originals work great!
