I was looking for something fairly inexpensive (under $50) to power my SteelSeries Siberia V2's; and work with my PS3 AND PC. I just couldn't spend $100+ on the Astro Mixamp as much as I would have liked to. So between the Fiio's, the Earforce Dss, and this; I went with the Xjacker....
Not disappointed at all.
I wanted something powerful to push my 32ohm Siberia's. The Xjackerwhoa! They say turn the amp all the way down before using the thing about took my head off. Seriously, you could damage your headset or your hearing. If you want your headset/headphones loud for cheap, you found it. Lots of headroom you don't have to turn the volume knob much at all.
Sound quality is great amplified the signal on my PS3 and PC without degrading the sound. It came with all of the right cables to hook up to the PS3 audio and chat. All I had to do to make it compatible with my pc was supply my own 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm headphone cable. Not bad at all.
...But, when hooked it to the pc usb there was background static and noise interference. This is why I am giving the review, to help anyone out that has this background noise. This is pretty common with usb sound cards or amps hooked up to a pc even the expensive ones.

The static was completely gone. Awesome.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have optical audio or simulated 5.1 7.1 surround sound like the much more expensive mixamps. But it's only $20 and sounds great in stereo. Obviously not audiophile equipment, but it's a good headphone amp for a gamer on a budget.

In terms of amplifying, it does what it has to do. really amplifies the volume.But I'm fan of real surround experience. So instead of spending on this. collect some money and go for Tritton 720+ or Astro A40s.
If you just want loud sound whor, then buy this.
If you want sharp crisp, detailed HD sound, then definitely don't buy this. Don't buy Turtle Beach DSS surround decoder series also. It's waste of time / money.
Go for premium Headphones. Tritton or Astro. do some research on the below list and find your suitable one.
Tritton 720+ 9/10 Virtual Surround 7.1.... Im using this and surround is amazing.
Tritton Pro+ True surround 5.1.....
Astro A40 Best out there, but very costly.

It works as advertised, you can use a headset with the cables provided, and the amplifier definitely provides a boost. Unfortunately, teammates complained that I was too quiet, and they could barely hear me, when using the provided usb microphone adapter. I tried several headsets, with the same results. I have attempted to contact their customer support, and after 2 days, I still have not received a response as to how I may resolve this. I did find someone online, that said customer support helped them fix the same issue, but they didn't provide the solution :/Hopefully I will receive a response from customer support, and I can share the answer here (and adjust my rating)
