The campaign is what one would expect, and while it is enjoyable; we all know you Battlefield 4 for the multiplayer. However, that is isn't working at the moment. I should also not that I purchased a digital copy through my XBOX One, and it takes a long time to install. I think the install is worth it, better than having a stack of games. So while the game is essentially broken, I can't really give the game a full accurate review. I'm sure it will be worth it when it is fixed... Until then, you may want to turn to COD:Ghost :(

I had this copy for the 360 and it worked well as long as the xBox didn't freeze up or we all got dumped out of servers. Now that I traded up to the One version, I can honestly say there isn't any more console freezing. What there is though is just as frustrating. -I should note that I only play this game on multiplayer, along with the collective, so my experience on the One console will reflect this. I did the campaign version on the 360 console and enjoyed it.

The game is still filled with glitches. For example, you could be entering a game or halfway through a match and you get "dashboarded" meaning the game dumps you out and the xBox One returns to your home screen. This doesn't happen with everyone in a match though, so I must assume it may be based on where you are connected from, or your internet connection.

I've also noticed that with the second assault expansion pack, you cannot get into the match as your game will just stay stuck in the loading screen. As of the evening of 11/23, the assignments you get are all messed up and stats are either not getting recorded or they are getting deleted.

Now on to the good stuff, that makes up for the constant dashboarding and glitches...

The game (in multiplayer) is incredible!!! The graphics are hands down far and away better than anything I have ever seen from a game console before. They probably rival those of a decent PC gaming system. (That's what the One is) Rocks, trees, brick walls... Everything has such realism. The detail is astounding and if you are coming from the 360 game, you will be astounded at just how much extra detail there is in the game. The developers have been able to add new walls, rooms, objectives, players, barriers, and pretty much every thing else there is to the game. More players on many maps. if you liked playing Metro on the 360 in BF3, you will LOVE the new Metro. It is non stop action that is 100% better than the previous version.

Dice claims to be working hard on solving the issues they are having, but so far, this rollout is by far the worst of any of the battlefield games. Still, I think the game is worth buying because of the amazing graphics and intense combat. 32 on 32 on a game console is pretty cool.

For now, the game deserves an average rating of 3 stars. If Dice fixes the multiplayer glitches, it will be a solid 5/5

Best Deals for Battlefield 4 - Xbox One

From the title of this review, you can probably infer that I'm displeased about the emphasis EA/DICE have placed on DLC in this game. For those unaware, whom I suspect are somewhat few in number, the publisher of this game markets a product (service?) called "Premium", as part of which the user receives all the DLC to be released for Battlefield 4 (and two weeks early), priority in server queueing (which doesn't work anyway), some mostly meaningless cosmetic perks, as well as some typical random value-adders. Now, in theory, this mostly isn't a terrible thing; it gives the publisher/developer advance cash-in-hand to throw towards operations while developing the aforementioned content, and allows the user to display how super hardcore they are by wearing their tacky gold-and-black elite decorations. A problem arises, however, when the DLC becomes all-consuming when it becomes the game itself.

The truth is: this game does not come at the advertised price of $59.99. In the end, it costs $109.99. I don't contend that this is inherently a bad thing if the quality I want comes at that price, perhaps I'll pay it, but to insist that the $50 premium surcharge is optional is, at its very best, a manipulative, premeditated upsell, and at worst, an outright deception. What one finds upon playing this game, is that the "PREMIUM" banner is held over one's head at every given opportunity. Every time you start the game, you're reminded that you're not a Premium player and are prompted to buy. Those 'exclusive' black-and-gold dog tags are thrown in your face every time a Premium player kills you (inevitably with a gun/gear that you can't get as a non-Premium). You are incessantly reminded that you aren't a True Battlefield player you aren't Premium you aren't important you're a peasant, and EA doesn't care for 'the poors' playing its games.

I know this isn't new and that it isn't a surprise. It wasn't sprung on me after I'd purchased the game; the same thing had happened in Battlefield 3 and, on principle, I simply gave up and stopped playing instead of falling behind as the majority moved on to new maps and new weapons. Invariably in this case, you end up in situations where you need DLC to play with your friends, and I typically end up giving in and buying it which would have cost me more in the long run than Premium would have. This absolutely ruined BF3 for me, so I just stopped playing it. I suppose I was a fool to buy BF4, having had this experience, but it was one of the few launch titles for the Xbox One that I was enticed by, and I had always enjoyed the Battlefield franchise. Now I'm in the same situation regarding the Premium vs. non-Premium atmosphere. It actually strikes me as an hilariously bold and blatant analogy to the type of class system that tends to develop in society at large: those who spend more are more important, and those who don't are disregarded. Of course, I'll concede that this is a dramatic and somewhat sensationalist point to be made, but in essence I believe it is true.

When Premium was announced for Battlefield 3, I was surprised. I was angered, offended, and thoroughly disgusted at the developer (DICE) and publisher (EA) for what I see as an underhanded and shameless move to wring every last cent from their audience at any cost. Now, I am ashamed to admit that I am broken. What am I to do? Deny that I enjoy playing this game due to the sleazy business tactics of EA? Deny myself the entertainment that the game brings? Continue to lament that I'm a second-class citizen as the new maps and weapons and perks are enjoyed by my Premium betters? I have come to see that the price tag on this game is a facade, an illusion. It isn't $59.99, and it never was. It's $109.99, and I bought it for that price, in hopes that I'll get my money's worth out of it in the next year or so. Now that I recognize this, I don't feel quite as played, having essentially bought the game twice, but I still despise EA/DICE for trying to pawn a glorified demo off on me as a full game. Maybe it's OK for a game to cost $109.99 I'm not sure but I know damn well that its purveyors should have the nerve and decency to advertise the price as such.

With all that said, I have bought Premium, having accepted that it is simply part of the price of the game. It's funny: I though that after I bought Premium I would feel better. "Finally," I thought, "I'll be part of the first-class crowd, a VIP, five-fifths of a person in Battlefield-land", but instead I simply feel embarrassed. Now every time I start the game, in addition to a prompt pestering me to buy Premium (again?), there under the Battlefield 4 logo, sits in bright gold letters the word 'PREMIUM" a word that somehow now seems like a acronym for "All Your Money Are Belong To Us", through some magic I can't explain. It's a mark; a brand; a burning reminder that I've done exactly what they wanted me to do: I've paid nearly the full price of another game, in advance, for the simple nebulous promise that they'll deliver content that's worth my money sometime in the future. Needless to say, I'm conflicted, and I certainly won't be hanging those gaudy Premium dog tags around my virtual neck. It shames me enough that I have done this; why must others know of my weakness as well?

In summary, this game, when isn't crashing or lagging, is beautiful. It's fun and I like the idea of it. I like that I can play with 63 other people now. I like that Commander mode is back and useful. I like the "Level-ution"s that cause the skies to crack and the seas to rise in Parcel Storm, and which bring about the utter destruction of Siege of Shanghai's skyscraper. I really do like this game, but in the end, I hate the people who sell it, for this is but another story in the long, tainted anthology of Electronic Arts. So here: take my money for now, EA, because I know that rolling with the punches and enjoying this game, as I do, will benefit me more than seething in anger over your shameful conduct, but know this: Along with my dollars you have earned my ultimate contempt, and the moment a better product comes along, you will benefit by no loyalty from me, nor from those who feel as I do, whom I suspect are many. Even as your stock prices rise, your good faith equity dwindles to nothingness, and if there is any good left in this world, this will be your undoing.

Overall Battlefield 4 is a good game, however since I am not actually able to play any multiplayer at the moment because it keeps saying the servers are down is very upsetting. When the multiplayer went down I decided I would play some single-player, it worked fine until I decided to go back to the main menu, and when i tried to resume my campaign it was reset back to if I had never even started it, it is very annoying. I would not recommend this game to anyone until they fix the game, until then buy Dead Rising 3 or Forza 5, you'll get your moneys worth!

I have no idea why this game has soo many negative reviews. I've played most of the good games within the last year or so such as GTA5, Hitman, Crysis 3, Farcry 3 ect..and I this is on par with any of them. Its visually pleasing and jamb packed full of excitement. Well worth the 60 bucks IMHO. ...... the graphic and effects soo beautiful they are distracting and getting me killed all the time!!!
