This game can't hold a candle to the original dead to rights. DtR1 had a story. This one has none. Dtr1 had crazy and imaginative boss fights. This one has none. The bosses here are simply dudes with a very long life bar. The original had interesting and varied settings. Forget about it now. In Dtr1, Jack Slate is a likeable character. In this one, you feel like a psycho. Even the dog worked better in the first game. In this one, you're never sure if he will obey even when his meter is full. The guys who made dtr1 had a lot of imagination. The new game is completely deprived of any original idea, setting, everything.
As for human shields, in the new game, the game decides for you when to get rid of the hostage, if you're not quick enough to dispatch him. Lame.
Don't buy at all costs. A rental will definitely do for anyone. The only good thing I can say about this game is that the bullet time is improved.

This game was offered as 'most ppl order thesse together'. Well.. as I had come to Amazon to only order the original game, "Dead to Rights". Learning that there was a version 2 was a pleasant surprise. I was ordering this for my brother whom had no idea the game had a version 2. Imagine a disabled man, one whom has extrodinarily great attitude, red hair and a smile that brights up anyones day. Btw, bro plays the games using his right knee and left hand on the controller. Now imagine my bro's surprise at getting not only the disk he wanted, but also a disk he did not know had been made. WOW the house dang near turned neon bright with the happiness this gave. This game is still wrapped up in original plastic, as he wants to finish the first version first. But there is something that imo is very important.We ordered these games from IGEX Electronics. I placed the order just after 2pm central time, with 2 day shipping chosen. We received the games the very next day when UPS arrived at 6:10 pm. I am sure that i did not choose next day shipping. The games were shipped together with ups air mail as per tracking. I was in awe of getting bro's huge thanks the next day.. but that should be shared with the seller. And so.. now I am doing that publically. Thank you IGEX Electronics. Your work at getting these games out asap made my bro a very happy man. Please pass on his joy and thanks to your staff.

I loved the first dead to right, I'm not to privy to the first person perspective (I mean I like Doom well Hell I love it! and have many discs of it), but being around when the ATARI 2600 was new (I actually predate that by a number of years) I have grown accustomed to the third person perspective, and thank God Dead to Rights stayed with that trend. I bought this game for my kids and they really enjoy playing it so far I have bought a lot of games from Amazon
