This product adds nothing to your Rock Band experience. It doesn't change anything except the way your drums look. You're essentially adding something that is supposed to look like a kick drum head to your existing kit. In that respect it works pretty well.
The "Drum Head" is made of elastic-like cloth stretched onto a collapsible frame. It's folded up to about the size of a frisbee when you first get it. When you take it out of it's packaging which is a poly-bag attached to a hang-card it springs into shape immediately and there are two clips which you attach to the drum kit and then clip onto the drum head. The clip broke after 3 or 4 days, so I used some sticky-backed velcro to attach it... No harm, no foul. The clips are pretty cheaply made, so I wouldn't blame you if you skipped that step altogether.
My biggest complaint my only complaint, actually is that I did not get what I ordered. I had also ordered a set of pad silencers that had skulls on them, and thought that the drum head pictured would be a nice compliment to those. What I got was a drum head with standard RockBand style graphics and the logo. I like it just fine, and it's certainly not worth complaining to get a replacement, it's just something to be aware of.
