Bought this for my Grandson on it's release date, after reading the previews. I will begin, by saying they do a fantastic job of immensing you into the world of Pixar and their movies. First thing that happens, is it creates you as a Pixar character, by scanning you in, and uses a little trick to duplicate the color of your clothing, into each of your characters attributes. The next thing I would like to mention, is unlike the other Disney Kinect title, this one seems alot easier for the younger ones to get going in the game, making the menu navigation much more responsive and easier to navigate through, which is great. The attention to graphics is also incredible, as the game is being played, you actually fel like you are watching a Pixar movie. The concept of the game is quite simple, your character (A Child), is dropped at a Pixar camp, which you can freely roam around in, stopping and meeting other children in the park, all which will stop and give you their take on what part of the park they enjoy the most. Next you can walk your Pixar into any of the five movies represented in the game, where you will be greeted by another child, who explains to you, what your adventure will entail, from racing your car in Cars, to saving a friend Rat in Ratatouile. Once in the chosen story, you become part of the story, while getting encouragement from all the favorites from the movies, you cannot die or lose a life in the story, you simply just start back from where you were if you happen to fall, and if after a few attempts of not completing an objective, it will even ask, if you would like to skip that task. My grandson is 4, and this game is bar far his favorite of the many that we own, because he actually is able to complete each mission he has tried, some seem to take a little longer, but he has never lost the ambition to make it all the way through, unlike has happen in some of the others he has tried. I myself have played along with him, and must say it is rather entaining, and very responsive of picking up your motions, and translates them well into the game. I would recommend this title to anyone with a child 8 or under, or even if you are just a fan of Pixar. It is $50.00 well spent, and I can only hope that they continue to support this title with some DLC, (Monster Inc, Bugs Life and maybe some Nemo), would be great additions. To sum this up, if your reading this review, it's because your are showing some interest in this title, stop reading now, and buy this game, your child/grandchild will love it..

This is THE Kinect game we've been looking for: A frustration-free & fun Kinect game! The Kinect motion, menus, and games perform so smoothly and accurately. My 2 year old can start the game without our intervention and can play alone if he wants. We love the variety of the games and the guided part of the beginner's level. This game is so much fun for the entire family! Whomever developed this gamed nailed it and should be put in charge of developing all Kinect games moving forward.

This is the first Kinect game besides "kinect sports" that I thought was very well done. What must be said about this kinect game is that the programers are finally figuring out how to make character navigation work for the controller free setting. The character movements in this game are SOOOOOOOOO much fun. Running/walking/climbing, its all very well done (unlike the ridiculous navigation in Disneyland Adventures). For this you simply swing your arms (just as you are actually walking) and turn your body to move. Also, the car racing portion is the best vehicle controls that I have used, and they are actually quite effective (I was very disappointed with the driving controls for "Joy Ride". This title is clearly geared for younger crowds, but my wife and I REALLY enjoy playing it, being the pixar fans that we are. The graphics are great, and the voice overs are VERY true to character. Game play is not as repetitive as I had expected it to be, we keep finding more and more things you can do like actually bending over to swim under the water and find more secrets! Anyone who loves Pixar or simply wants a game that makes great use of Kinect's possibilities, I do not think will be disappointed. This game has shown me there is great things to come for Kinect, and other designers will learn from the the excellent tracking and controls in this game...

Honest reviews on Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure - Xbox 360

Firstly, this game is hilarious, brilliant, so much fun for all ages, especially if you are a fan of Pixar, BUT and you knew it was coming, only if your Kinect is set properly.

We tried to get this working for my 5 year old who isn't very tall and after an hour of frustration no one wanted to play as we couldn't get recognized there is a part at the start where they give you a silhouette to stand in, and when you're positioned right it turns green and you get added, well, my daughter wasn't even close to the silhouette shape and would have had to grow about 6 feet taller to ever make it. So, we checked and the green light on the Kinect sensor was on, so we knew it was connected and working, but then we noticed the angle it was pointed at, which was basically up to the ceiling, so we used the Kinect tuner and it recognized me as an adult and we thought all was OK, but the sensor was still pointed at the ceiling, so only seeing the adults from the knees up and not seeing little kids at all.

In comes Google, and we found out you can manually (via the Xbox controller NOT BY HAND!)adjust the tilt angle on the Kinect sensor so when you run the Kinect set up through your Xbox and get to the part where it is seeing the play area and player, if it isn't seeing your feet like ours was you will see at the bottom of the instructions panel "ADJUST ANGLE" and then you can choose that and click up and down.

This may seem simple to an Xbox uber fan, but we just got ours and didn't know we could do this.

NOW, the angle has been tilted down, it sees everyone, no matter how tiny they are and the game was set up and playing in less than 5 minutes and my 5 year old loves it.

So in short, this game is as awesome as everyone says, but you need to check the angle on your Kinect if it just isn't seeing you at all and check for the green light on the front too apparently sometimes Kinect sensors will simply die, but more often than not when you think the game sucks because it doesn't see you, it really isn't seeing you due to angle!

This and the Disneyland game are so much better now we adjusted it right!

My son is eight years old and a Pixar fanatic. He watches the movies daily. He has a few Autism Spectrum Disorder issues and fixates on things pretty hard. Currently, that is Pixar and most of the movies. He has played Toy Story 3 on the PS3 and PSP to the point where he deletes the game each day so he can do it again, so finding a new title for him that incorporates movement was something I was hoping he'd enjoy.

I showed this too him, and after some initial coaching he's taken to this like a fish in water. I haven't personally had time to interact with the game much but between himself and his older sister (10) they have been having a blast with it.

This is a great game for any fan of the PIxar series. They sure love it.
