I searched high and low for a device like this Speakercom gizmo. I use a separate pair of headphones, so I can't really use Turtle Beach units or whatever else out therewhich by the way I have tried and all I have to say iswhat is up with the 90 ft. long cables that plug into one place and another and hardly work? I can't afford wireless headsets and I cannot stand wires going all over the place. Why does every headset have a cheapo inline volume control? They always break! Anyway, all I wanted was a set of earbuds that I could slip under my Sony headphones so that I can communicate with other players AND hear the game audio. As far as I know this is the only product that will allow the setup that I need. I haven't used the speaker setting yet, seems a little silly but since I don't need it, no problemo. I can hear the chat perfectly fine. Other gamers can hear me as well. One issuewhen you raise the volume to max there is a pretty audible buzz. So I just lower the volume a hair and it's less noticeable. Not bad for $8! I'm getting at least one more pair because I know these won't last forever.Best Deals for Speakercom 360 - White - Xbox 360

As far as looks go, this might not be the best looking headset but functionality and commonsense engineering make these some of the best chat headsets I've owned to date...The flatwire tech is a great innovation and I would love to see these implemented into alot more headsets. The only beef I have with this set is the oversized earbuds, I wish the buds were "in-ear" and interchangeable. Other than that though, the sound quality is great and I love the "hold to mute" button, ingenious. I would recommend these to anybody looking for a good chat headset...
BTW these things have a built in speaker mode that can be operated by the simple flip of a switch(no batteries necessary), I tried it but with all the ambient noises from the games I'm playing make it hard for you to really hear what anyone is saying.
