So, how well does this work? It really does with... well, right out of the box.
It comes with a 3 or 4 foot male, USB cable and a built in Female USB connector. To make it work:
1. Have available a wired 360 controller (It has to be a wired controller).
2. Turn on the 360.
3. Plug the male USB cable from the device into any one of the 360's USB connectors. The XCM logo on the front of the device will cycle through three colors letting you know it is ready.
4. Next, plug your 360 wired controller into the XCM Converter. The XCM logo on the front of the device will change to a steady green.
5. Unplug the 360 wired controller and plug in the G25 or G27 USB cable into the XCM converter.
That's it. The wheel will calibrate itself by doing a couple of full rotations. The controls on the G26/G27 wheel and are now the controller for navigating the 360 menus. You'll soon get use to using the various buttons and rocker on the G25/G27 to navigate the 360 displays.
The devices real worth is in its ability to let you use a top flight racing wheel (the Logitech G25/G27) with your 360. And, how well does the G27/G27 work with the 360; specifically with Forza4? Let's say, it's changed the enjoyment of Forza4 to a level 90% better than before I used the XCM F1 Converter. There are a couple major improvements that make all the difference in the world. First is the brake pedal feel. Yes, I said the brake pedal. Anybody can stomp on the gas and go fast. In driving games (or Sims), It's the ability to effectively break that makes driving the skill that it is. The G25/G27 has a fairly heave spring in the brake mechanism and it gives your muscle memory something to push against, so you almost never lock up the breaks. There are all kinds of mods for the G25/G27 brake that can make them feel even more like the real deal.
Secondly, in Forza4, there is an interesting amount of force feedback that is transmitted to the wheel so you can feel what is happening. This was a big surprise when I discovered this, because I read the 360 only transmits a small amount of rumble to the wheel. This is not at all correct. There's an effective amount of force feedback, and it's enough to make a real difference. No, its not the level you might get with PC title like GRT2 or rFactor, but its far better then you might expect from something like this. Again, its the brake pressure that nails it. The force feedback is icing on the cake.
So, if you already have a G25 or G27 wheel, don't buy a crappy 360 wheel. Instead, buy a XCM F1 Converter and use one of the best wheels available for the PC with your 360. Additionally, since the G27 was released, you can now find G25 wheels for a great price on Ebay and Amazon and buy a wheel that once retailed for somewhere around $399.00.

Got the converter and updated with the updates on the OFFICAL website. It did nothing. After repeated attempts to contact XCM, they still have yet to respond. If your lookin to this as a way to use you driving force gt, save you money, and get a fanatec. By the time, you buy this and a G25/G27, youd have a descent fanatec wheel set for you xbox. Ive looked everywhere online for a fix, and came across you tube vids, of people having the same issue I am. If you have the G series wheel, cool. But like I said, the dfgt does not work.
