If you want a flight stick for your games, this is the one to get. Set up is a little difficult, since it tells you to hit the connect button on the Xbox and the controller, but it doesn't show where the connect button is (on the bottom with 3 little white arcs above it). Once connected it is a pleasure to use, and adjustable to fit any size hand. Be sure to get a battery charger and some rechargeable AA batteries because it does not use a charger or a cord.

This flight stick has a great design. Most of the important fit paramaters (height, rake angle, head angle) are adjustable to make it quite comfortable to use. The button placement is great for the games that it is compatible with. My complaint is that there is too much of a dead-zone when moving the stick. If you are trying to make minor adjustments, the stick has to be pushed well outside of the center position before any movement registers. This makes fine control during these games difficult.

Overall, this is an awesome product idea; it would be much more user friendly if the movement tracking was more sensitive when making small motions.

This is a great stick for playing pretty much any flight combat game on the 360. It uses Microsofts own wireless technology, so just like the controllers... you just hit the guide button and you are ready to play. It has two settings via a switch for different games. Most everything uses the A setting and only a game or two use B. The stick comes with a little plastic wrench that allows you to adjust stick height and button placement, which is really nice if you hands are bigger or smaller than the default setting.

The aesthetics(look)of the stick is slick. Better than the other two out there(Ace Edge and Madcatz older stick). The acceleration is handled by a slider towards the back of the stick, which offers a perfect amount of tension so you dont overshoot your target speed. Button placement is perfect and allows you to easily maneuver through the most difficult of tasks. The stick twists for rudder control.

Battery life is the same as Microsofts gamepads, about 20-30 hours. You cannot use charge and play battery packs with this, only AA's, as the bottom of the stick wouldnt have allowed for the extra clearance needed for them... which is just fine. The stick is stable whether on a table or in your lap. It comes with attachments for your lap that can be attached or not.

My only gripe with this stick and why it didnt get a 5, is the fact that Madcatz themselves told me that this stick had rumble feedback and unfortunately, it doesnt. I love rumble feedback in games and doing without it took a lot of getting used to. luckily, I have a transducer attached to my theater chairs to give that kick. The tension in the stick is also just a tad loose for my tastes, not terrible... but I love it tight and unfortunately, there is no way to adjust it(other than buying your own tighter spring)

Overall, it is a great stick and perfect for armchair pilots such as myself. Feedback would have made this the perfect stick. As-is though, the wireless makes up for it and creates an awesome in-game flight experience that works perfectly with every flight game on the 360.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 - Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 Wireless Flight Stick

I was extremely disappointed with the performance of this product during my first use. The stick "action" felt too stiff and it was very difficult making micro adjustments in targeting. This was with Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. My initial reaction was to sell it as it was too frustrating to use. The button layout was fine and easy to learn. The exception is the RSB and LSB buttons are located in awkward positions in the front of the unit. It does not have force feedback or vibration as advertised by Mad Katz. I too called Mad Katz only to be told it did by someone who clearly was not in touch with their product. I later tried H.A.W.X. For whatever reason the performance was markedly more responsive. YEAH! With this "glimmer of hope" I decided to not give up on this product and 3 days later I'm glad I didn't....This thing ROCKS!!!! Once you get used to it the level of control is remarkable! With some minor adjustments you can personalize the stick to fit any hand. To help with the initial stiff feeling "cycle" the stick for a few minutes by gently rotating the stick, this will " break it in " so to speak and soften the spring action. With a little use you will find this to be a great product. If it had vibration or force feedback it would be the a "no brainer" for the XBOX as we don't have many options. Get it and practice with it and you will be dropping the enemy out of the skies in no time!!!!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program ON the short list of flight controllers currently available for the X-Box 360 the Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 has a place . I have heard people say they love this thing and also people who dislike it so I went in with an open mind and tried to make it work for me. It's design is (at least for now) extremely futuristic looking and to me looks like a leftover prop from a sci fi movie. Before even attempting to install and use I tried getting a feel for the unit and discovered it can be adjusted in numerous ways, to suit both your hand size and also the surface on which the base will reside. Removing the controller from it's packaging isn't as hard as many products are and I just needed to cut a few ties and had it out of the box.

Once I got the stick length adjusted and the base sitting firmly on my coffee table I did my best to put this through it's paces. I thought the spring action was good and responsive. Firm, but not TOO tight. Same for the buttons as you do need to really press them to get a response so accidents are easily avoided once you get a feel for it. Trigger feels good to me, so do the left hand buttons you access while gripping the base. As for rudder control you can twist the stick or get yourself a set of pedals if that feels more natural. I had no problem making the wireless connection.

It comes ready for action and works out of the box with at least 5 games including Birds of Prey and Ace Combat (which is what I tried it with) .. I would think the controller response will be different with each game and with a bit of time the sensitivity could be dialed in to your liking. For a real newbie like me I really enjoyed using it and it didn't take long to get the feel of the stick and for my fingers to get used to button placement.

The Cyborg F.L.Y. seems built to last, but I have read that there have been problems with wires coming loose. I haven't had it long enough for this to happen and do not know if this issue has been resolved in manufacturing yet. So far, I am really liking this thing, having only used standard controllers at home. The price also seems reasonable for what you get. Now if it falls apart on me, I will come back and edit this review.
