i used to have this game for sega game gear and i used to play it over and over , this has to be one of my favorite games of all time straight foward beat em up! simple an addicting i am 25 years old and still love this game even more on a lcd moniter !5 bucks is a steal try and find this for 5 bucks on sega genesis!!

I rushed out and bought this game when it became available through amazon on here and it's a fun game. I wasn't familiar with the Streets of Rage series as I had an SNES as a kid but knew it was similar to Final Fight, which I loved. I played through this game and gotten fairly far, although some bosses seem hard with some of the characters. The good guys and bad guys are both colorful and the gameplay is great.

The only problem I have is that the XBox Live portion of this game seems to be dead everytime I attempt to play it. I realize the game was released a while back, but on several attempts, no matches could be made.

Overall I'd recommend this if you're into old school sidescrollers like Streets of Rage, Final Fight or Fatal Fury. The game's really easy to learn, although a little more difficult to master, I'd imagine. It's well worth it for $5. For achievement nuts, there's not many and they seem to range from easy to impossible.

Quick update... with Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection released for the 360, I'd recommend picking it up instead. Unless you really want the achivements for this, SUGC is $30 and comes packed with over 40 titles. So instead of $5 for this, you can get all the Streets of Rage 1-3, Sonic 1-3, Phantasy Star 1-4 and more.
