My son and I played this game together. As a family we love puzzle games and hidden objects are always great as family activity. My daughter liked all the hidden objects so when those were on the screen she would join in.

The story is fun; we've played Big Fish Games Mystery Case Files on the computer and like the games quite a bit. This was similar but more fun on the Wii.

I only had one puzzle that caused me a bit of trouble but if you look hard enough the answer is right there in front of you.

Nice alternative to a good book; adds a little family togetherness!

WOW is this a game great! I am a huge fan of the Mystery Case Files series and own all the games. I think this is the best one yet. It is very different from the PC games because the environments are 3D which also makes it much more challenging and fun. I am surprised this game went on sale already, it is a steal at $15. I highly recommend buying this especially if you are a hidden object/puzzle fan. It provides another great mystery and you have to collect items and postcards around the island and search for clues. It provides hours and hours of fun. Even multiplayer mode where you can play with friends and family! I was pleasantly surprised on how great this game is, I consider myself a hardcore and casual gamer. I love the typical Nintendo games like Zela, Super Mario Galaxy etc. and I am highly enjoying this game. Well worth the money

I really enjoy hidden object games and point-and-click adventure games. I play both genres on the NDS and in PC versions. This was my first try at either genre on the Wii. I found it painfully slow--waiting for each new scene to load as I was clicking around the "island" setting. (Thank goodness you can access the island map to move from one general locale to another. But there is still a lot of clicking around each scene and every time the scene changes there's a loading delay.) I also found the controls to be somewhat glitchy.

The hidden object scenes seem to be a rather minor part of the game. Each scene had 10 or 12 items to find and didn't take long at all. The majority of the game time was taken up with wandering about trying to gather the clues that let you solve the various puzzles that let you advance in the game. The puzzles themselves were entertaining enough, but a few were frustrating simply because there was no explanation of what the goal was. That leaves you trying to give an answer when you don't know the question.

After completing the game and letting the credits roll, you can access "free play" mode and go back to replay all the hidden objects scenes you've already found plus 2 bonus hidden object scenes that weren't available during the main game play. Even with the free play, however, I don't think the game was worth the list price. There just isn't enough game time to it to justify that price, to my mind. The half price sale that Amazon had made it worth trying, though. But even at that price, I still find that it wasn't as much fun as playing similar games on the DS.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Rated E A Puzzle/Search Game

My young teens enjoy playing it, but it is not their "go-to" game even though they both like puzzle games. They gave it 3-1/2 stars because of the game's pace and the game's inability to keep their attention.

A Young Teen's Perspective:

Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is designed for players who enjoy finding hidden items within a given puzzle/scene.

The story line involves the player as a detective trying to solve several mysteries before the final mystery of Malgrave Island. At first, the game is simple and exciting; however, as you go through the puzzles in the game, each puzzle becomes more and more challenging.

The game is a brain challenge there are many instances that require the player to recall specific memories or items in order to move on. There is an in-game notebook that stores all of the clues necessary to solve the final mystery. There is also a hint button for those who get stuck.

The game graphics are great, but the game is a bit slow. Overall, the game is fun, but I prefer other games like Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is best suited for those who like puzzle/problem solving games.
