I recently purchased this battery and charger and kept my fingers crossed since there were no reviews. So far I am pleased with the performance of the batteries. The batteries look almost identical to the official Xbox 360 rechargeable battery. They feel a little lighter than the official battery and they seem to have a smaller clip to hold them into the controller. This makes them stick out ever so slightly. Not a major issue but something that I noticed when comparing them. They seem to hold there charge well and I can't distinguish between the length of time they will last compared to the official battery. They charge well with the included charging cable but one thing that was disappointing is that they will not charge in the Xbox 360 quick charge kit. That is the method I primarily use to charge my batteries so I was sad to see they weren't compatible. Other than that one complaint the batteries and charger are a great deal for the price.

Update: After using these for the past few weeks I have come to a realization that while they work they don't hold a charge for anywhere near the length of the official Microsoft ones. Not the greatest.

Going to leave a completely unbiased review here, only to give real facts based on this particular product, I've used xbox products for years.. I'm only marking this item 3 stars because at first plug and play things are great, although I am unsure of how long the item will last..

I try to keep in mind that when reviewing a product like this, YES, I spent around $15..

So they say "You get what you pay for.."

With that being said...

Upon opening the product, the batteries seemed much lighter than that of regular Microsoft brand rechargeable batteries, so instinct tells me "Oh boy, here we go.." A little disappointing, but remember, I paid around $15 for the lot of 3 items when you can hardly get just one piece for that price.. When I read the writing on the back, they've managed to skew the Microsoft brand name and is labeled as "Mioroscft Corporation" to avoid copyright infringement, I assume.. As for the charger, It is fairly short.. Youre really only going to get about 3 3 1/2 feet of length out the cord so its really going to work best when you're using it with the console nearby..

Aside from all the physical aspects of the items, lets see if they work..

Both rechargeable batteries fit snugly into my controller, no rattling, not loose at all, just what I would expect from a regular Microsoft battery, rechargeable or not.. The controller recognized the battery and displays charge, as it should, when I hit the xbox guide button, and my console is running.. So onto the next step, I plugged the USB end of the charger cord into the xbox, and the other end into the controller (with the knock-off battery in place) and voila! It works.. The red light indicates the battery is charging, and also allows use of controller when no battery is installed at all.. Now in terms of battery charging, what I don't notice is a charging indicator on the battery life indicator in the Xbox Guide screen.. The charger is plugged in and the battery charge display does indicate new bars of charge are forming, when they do, but it does not actually indicate that a charger is being used.. In a practical sense, this really doesn't matter, so long as our $15 product works.. Keep in mind it isn't just with the batteries either, because I used my regular Microsoft rechargeable batteries as well and the same thing happened with them.. No indication of charging happening except for the red light on the charging cord itself, and that new bars form when I check for them..

Let's talk battery duration and charge-time..

Upon first use, The batteries seemed to charge fairly quickly. I recieved them half charged already, and it took a couple hours to finish the charge, so I'd say it takes 4 hours to completely charge an empty battery if/when brand new.. As for battery duration, I haven't had the product long enough to determine how well it holds its charge, nor what its duration of life is until battery retention renders it useless.. From what I've experienced with typical Microsoft rechargeable batteries, you should expect somewhere between 12-16 hours of "turned on" use, and with each recharge it will taper off (battery retention).. The overall length of life with typical Microsoft rechargeable batteries should be about 6 months to a year of moderate gameplay, yet there are too many factors for me to calculate when attempting to assess the exact duration of life a rechargeable battery has.. If this battery makes it 6 months, then I will assume it was worth the $15 spent.. No need to quote me on the exact numbers, I'm only estimating and stating what I have personally experienced while gaming with the Xbox 360 console and rechargeable batteries.. Another helpful tip in reducing battery charge expenditure, is to turn off any vibration function in-game, this will decrease the potential charge your controller will use during gameplay..

I hope this helps any customers in any future efforts of getting the low-down on these knock-off products.. Sure, they're not 100% guaranteed like any true Microsoft product would be, but in all practical sense, it only costs a fraction of what you would be paying anyway..

I received the batteries after about 3 weeks. This was expected since they come from china. When I received them they were half charged and it only took about 15 minutes to drain them.

When I tried to charge them the light on the charging cord only stays red for 10 seconds and then it turns green to indicate they are charged. I tried using different controllers to charge them and i finally got them to charge (or so i thought). The light indicated they were charged after about 2 hours so i tried using it and the battery was dead within 20 minutes.

also, the charging cord isn't compatible with official Xbox batteries. In the description they say the cord is 6ft long. This is an obvious lie because the cord i received was only 3ft long.

I will never buy these again. i guess there is a reason why they were so cheap. i've been an online shopper for over 2 years and this is the first product i'm disappointed with.

These batteries hold power. Charges very fast as well. Love the fact it is a USB charger because I have more options for electrical flow. I would definitely recommend and yes I am purchasing more....... Oh and delivery was prompt. All items packaged well.

Cons: they don't last as long as 2 AA batteries per day.
