the journal is definitely some awesome geeky COD memorabilia.(in the journal there's pictures, notes, sketches, a match book(not real), one of the labels from a captian price cigar....truly nerdy...i dig it) one thing that was a let down was that COD elite had crashed on release day (must have learned from BFBC2 and BF3..no offense to them it just sucks all three had some issues). but its up and running today. COD elite is ok. i don't if its worth the money, but we'll see. the avatar costume is really cool.(nothing like good ol'jugs ruinin' your day..) the steel case is alright. i'm not really too big of a fan of the hardened editions. i pretty much got the MW2 for the free (kinda) COD classic, Black Ops for the Zombies maps, and MW3 for all of the dlc prepaid. usually i just sell the hardened after a while and buy a regular copy. overall nice packaging and good quality. but now for some details folks!
Graphics 9.5 still very beautiful. there could have been little things done to make it better, but this looks slightly better graphically than MW2...which was a gorgeous game in its time.
Sound 7.5 the sound is nothing special. i guess if you had a turtle beach head set you could appreciate it more, but its lack luster.
Playability 9.5 i seriously think the controls are tighter than they in any other COD. the game plays the same (as usual), but feels right on the money.
Campaign 9.0 i really enjoyed the story. classic. deep. (for the most part) layered. intense. it feels like the perfect ending to a trilogy. the campaign is still short though. i wanted to run through it and watch the story,so i played on recruit. took me a little over five hours. i'm no COD wizard, but it was short. i could see playing on veteran taking more like seven and half to eight hours. there is a few stages that i could see being very trouble some. we'll see when i get there. i liked it....i appreciated it.
Multiplayer 9.0 really no innovation. but a lot of features. spec ops returns, and the new survival mode is fun.(use survival to learn the maps for multiplayer.) if you really enjoyed spec ops, you'll love it even more. if you enjoy difficultly increasing hordes modes survivals will be a blast. i started by playing survival alone, and i really enjoyed it. now for the competitive multiplayer....it really is a lot like MW2 minus a a lot of annoying stuff. there is a ton of maps. there is still some verticality, but there is a lot more tight corners and interesting areas. but i still really like it. there's quite a variety of maps(16), and they fit well with the story and style. the guns feel nice and the weapon progression system is rewarding. the kill streaks aren't too crazy as you would possibly assume from the three strike packages. things balance pretty well and counter each other...and it doesn't make thins boring. the new game modes (kill confirmed and team defender) are really fun. the private match options are pretty crazy. lots of details to choose from. like i said, not a whole lot of innovation but, overall solid and beautiful. if you love COD's mulitplayer you should enjoy this one.
closing statement -
i really don't know why i bought this. i personnel enjoy battlefield games more. but i do love COD(fish?). i crave it. i feel like i need the trade off from time to time. if you want realness; battlefield is the way to go.(also vehicles, massive maps, destructibility, and more team oriented) if you want intense arcade gun battles; COD is by far the best choice. (relentless, fast, solid time and time again, gun on gun infantry warfare) to be honest...i would rather be playing the metal gear hd collection.(metal gear is my all time favorite series) but i don't have money for it. so until then, i will be fishing(COD) and hoping to save money for the myriad of other great games that are coming out or already out. (BATMAN!!! WHY!!!)
(UPDATE)
i haven't played this game in forever. it gets incredibly boring after playing it a lot. if you have friends to play with it keeps some of the excitement alive. i've been having a lot more fun playing mass effect 3 multiplayer. all of the elite drops so far are nothing that exciting. personally, for me it definitely wasn't worth getting the hardened edition. i don't play it enough to justify it. if you love this series get the hardened edition....it you don't and buy it anyway, go for a used copy. there are millions of used copies everywhere. i like cod, but there so many more new and innovative things out now, i can't see it keeping my attention for too long....though i do hope black ops 2 is good. i enjoyed the first one. thanks again for reading and have a good day.

There is not much to say about this game. The multiplayer is fast paced, addicting, and always fun. There's modes to fit every player (campers and even those who hate campers, i.e. Kill Confirm). The weapons are pretty much the same as MW2, but they seem to have been nerfed a slight bit in comparison. However, this review is for the hardened edition so let me get to what I feel is important.Everyone who was trying to get this on release day was worried about activating the elite membership by the 13th to ensure you get founder status. LET ME ANSWER THIS!!! IF you activate by the 13th EVERYONE gets founder status, even people who buy elite with their credit card online and purchase the regular edition. So why the hardened edition? It allows you to get the founder status with a code after the 13th has already passed by. So if you were worried about getting this and not receiving it by the 13th, stop worrying. You will still get founder status.
That being said, yes this game is worth $99, no it's not worth the 150-200 price tag that gougers are giving it. If you can't get it for 99, just order the regular edition, then go online to the elite website and sign up by the 13th. You won't get your "green skull" founder badge until later on, it takes about 48 hours to get this to show up.
That being said, for those who were wanting founder status, but wanted to hold off activating their elite service till the first DLC releases so it lasts longer, you will need the elite founder card to activate founder status later. However, if you're just worried about getting founder status NOW, then either way you go about purchasing Elite, you will have no problems.
As far as the book goes it's neat, and I'll probably read it all in a few weeks, or save it for a long plane ride after I beat the campaign just to get the full experience, but it's not the selling point, elite and long term founder capability is past the 13th (plus collectively you save about 10 bucks if you pay retail). All in all, if you enjoyed MW2, you'll enjoy MW3. The campaign is the same old style, but still fast enough paced. The spec ops can be fun, but seems VERY much like horde mode from gears of war. Still, grab a partner, get ready to be immersed, and activate your elite membership!

If you are considering buying this edition then you are not a COD hater so I will not state the advantages and disadvantages of COD over other shooters, but instead mention the things that come with the hardened edtion, first and most immportant you get a one year subsctiprion for Cal of Duty Elite worth $50 that is a service that gives you monthly downloadable content, daily competitions with virtual and real life prizes, the ability to level up your clan, pro analysis and strategies, Elite TV, it also gives you a "founder" status on said service, you also get a steelbook, a really nice notebook that I think is faithfull copy of one a soldier would have on the filed all wrinkled and with blood stains on it, and a big cardboard box (if that is the correct term) which I like more than metal boxes; anyway the hardened edition saves you a lot of money if you plan on playing the multiplayer for a long time and getting all the DLC.Honest reviews on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition
I really don't get what the problem is when a game follows a proven formula for a game. Let's see, MW1 had an somewhat compelling storyline, big "Michael Bay" type action scenes like the Marines in the Middle East. Plus add in what is still like the #3 played Xbox Live Multiplayer experience and you have a winner. Then you have MW2, which pushed the plot back a little bit, but definitely went with bigger action and added pretty awesome Specs Ops and built on an already winning formula. Now you have MW3. The plot has come back to be more cohesive than MW2, which I appreciate since I actually play the campaign first. Spec Ops looks to be bigger and badder than ever. And the multiplayer will, if the changes work, cut down on the "douchebaggery" and make it once again fun and not just annoying to play. This game is not BF3. So what? It is different enough to allow different gameplay and appeal to people who want something other than CoD has to offer.
