I have been waiting for this game for a long time, as a of a couple of months ago i was shocked to hear that THQ was going Belly Up! I was happy that Deep Sliver picked up this Gem of a Game. For me I fell in love with the First Matro game, and this one doesn't disappoint at all. Yes the Five Dollar thing has made a bunch of people made, but thats only if you dont buy the game new. Ever since EA started with the Online Code, Major companys have been making sure they get there money from the used consumer.Pros.
Graphics are Great
Keeps up with the scary post apocalyptic game play.
Sound FX are amazing, scares the s*** out you sometimes!
Still got to love that Bullet Currency.
Cons.
Achievements can be flawed, but hopefully fixed with some patches
The game can get repetive but overall its a good game and will have good replay value.
Best Deals for Metro: Last Light, Limited Edition - Xbox 360
Coming from a gamer that bought metro 2033 because it did seem very fun, and was not disapointed at all with the first one. Metro Last Light improves on the first on all aspects. Graphics, Atmosphere, Story,Interaction with humans and other beings are all improved 100%. I Am going on my second playthough and i can see myself doing a third or 4th because of how well 4A Games created this game. I am hoping with the demise of THQ there will be another metro in the future. Please anyone that wants a great creepy experience buy this and the first metro you will not be disapointed.Honest reviews on Metro: Last Light, Limited Edition - Xbox 360
So i played metro 2033 and i loved it. Then Metro last light comes out. Im excited to pick off where i left off.Now im only a quarter of the way through Last Light. Its not one of those games that i play and cant put down. So i buy the game on release date. I put it in the coming Saturday and im ready to beat it in one day..NOPE! im on the train at the beginning and im walking from front to back to check for items and im hopping around messing with the buttons. Then i find myself on the outside of the train while its moving.I somehow went through the window. It stops and its time to get off. IM STUCK NOW! im able to walk back and forth on the side of the train but cant get back in to get off on the other side. I have to restart! so i then turn the game off and come back to it a day later.Just a glitch, no biggie.Does not really bother me that kind of stuff happens. So now im back to playing. I like close combat with the shotty. Im blasting guys left and right and find that the shotgun is so strong that it knocks them through the wall if they are standing near it whether its brick or steel. WHAT A SHOTGUN! Sometimes they disappear into the wall or half their leg is sticking out shaking. Its still not enough to say its a crap game. The game is well made, its fun, has eerie moments. Another thing i noticed is when i go from place to place, the NPC characters say my name quite often when addressing me, which is fine and all, but i just barely met them and have not told them my name. Now i do know that some know who i am, but isolated areas do not. Not a biggie but something i noticed. Graphics are pretty good, but not great. Overall, im satisfied with the game, but could have waited for a price drop. right now id give the game a 8/10. Edit: 5/25: so I've been playing about an hour a day since my last review. Still not able to finish due to some slight frustration. Lets start off with it being a bit repetitive. Almost all games are like that. Going from place to place etc, but that's not the reason for the frustration. From time to time I die and the game auto saves. So when I die and get ready to restart the game just keeps showing me dying and I can't continue. So I have to restart the level. This has happened to me about 4 times. That causes me to stop playing and forces me to play black ops 2. Ill just come back to metro when I start raging at the quick scopers which will be soon enough! Overall the game needs a little more work, but if you do decide to play it, you more than likely wont be disappointed .Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Metro: Last Light, Limited Edition - Xbox 360
I bought this game, because of the gameplay I had seen, because of the trailers which really caught my attention.Anyways...NO regrets! Great purchase, and would buy it again at its current price point. Especially even more so after learning about the developers situation. (They seriously need to move to a "free'er" location than they currently live at.
The atmosphere of the game, is what won me over. This reminded me of the Fallout Series, but with its own twist. Your not getting so much of an open world experience as you are following the journey of a man and his quest to save a small place on earth.
Just throwing this out their, their's a well done lap-dance in this game. But only if you pay for it, and its well placed. Like a oasis in a desert. So it serves a purpose.
Anyways, bullet point time.
Pros-
Graphics
Game-play mechanics
Weaponry Mechanics
-Knife throwing is a blast
Music is well done
Atmosphere of the game, the environments are all varied, in each one it doesn't feel like a repetitious place, even if your traversing another tunnel. Which, all things considered was probably hard to pull off.. being as the place was literally nuked.
Story, (Thanks to the book author)
And the content in the game is well done, you face quite a few scenarios that would probably be found in a post apocalyptic world. Where baser instincts take over. And it was nice to see the touched upon.
Con's
The world isn't open, you can't visit places at whim.
"more of a things I wish were"
Backtracking, because ammo is sparse, you know, so it'd be nice to be able to back track and collect ammo, or revisit places. Or this aside, it'd been nice to be able to pick up more weapons, you might not have been able to use them, but instead put them in your "Junk bag" or "sellers bag" or something.. so you could sell them at vendors. I left many a good firearm laying about. Which sucked.
Ammo choice would have been nice, I'm mainly referring to the shotgun. Been nice to plug some of those ball bearings you find into your shells, or use slugs..
Anyways, if you enjoyed the fallout 3 and newvegas for the 360, you'll more than likely enjoy this game as well. Yeah you can't explore, but its still fun and worth the effort.
disclaimer: all just my perspective.
