In 2007 a small Eastern European game developer (CD PROJEKT)...teaches BIOWARE how to use their own Aurora engine. The original Witcher was the game that Neverwinter Nights had promised to be. Two years later BIOWARE picks up the glove and comes back with a strong response, the masterpiece Dragon Age: Origins. Unfortunately, its 2011 sequel does not live up to expectations. And this is all the opening the perfect sequel needed to come in and, once more, steal the show.

THIS IS HOW TO MAKE A cRPG SEQUEL!

Although there may be Xbox and PS3 versions of this game later on, this is a game designed from start to finish for the PC. In an age when 5-6 years old consoles set the standard this is very important. From the brand new engine to the very last script line, everything that could be worked on was and everything that could be improved shows improvement. The story is now even deeper; the graphics are several notches higher; character development has been both streamlined and more balanced; equipping Geralt is now more detailed whereas loot is abundant.

It is possible (although not necessary) to import your character from the first WITCHER. If, like me, you liked the original game, you will simply love the sequel.

LOOK AT THE SKY: IT IS THE WITCHING HOUR EVERY HOUR!

The graphics are simply A-MA-ZING! I like the way the rock formations catch the moving shadows and how the wind stirs up dust. I like the subtle movement of the grass and the exploding colors of the wild flowers. I like the textures of the clothes, the shine of the armor and the glint of the swords. I like the way the sun gets in your eyes and the way rays of light play with the tree foliage.

What is also important, these graphics and dynamic lighting are achieved even on medium-built systems (Minimum specs: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz/AMD 2.5GHz, nVidia 8800/ATI 3850, 1GB of RAM for WinXP/ 2GB for WinVISTA&7).

Even more impressively, the game is set in a day/night cycle, and this is reflected not only on the levels of ambient light but also on the activities of the surrounding world.

THE WORLD AROUND YOU COMES TRULY ALIVE

Remember how in most RolePlaying games approaching a Non-Playing Character (NPC) usually means he or she would utter any one of a small number of preset phrases? After a while, you have heard them all and it got very predictable. Well, prepare to be surprised. Again and again.

This is a world you will truly be immersed into. A world that wakes up, goes to work, gossips, bickers and barters, and unwinds in the tavern. Walk the same streets at night and they are eerily empty. And that is without taking into account the ever changing weather!

The immersion is so total for yet two other reasons: not only is the world fully open from the very beginning (no blocked areas or closed bridges!) but there are no loading delays between areas (only between chapters).

THE LIFE OF A WITCHER IS NEVER BORING

Geralt is a real warlock, combining a mix of sword fighting with potions and spells. These are the three main character developing trees, Swordmaster, Alchemist or Mage. Sword moves, potion ingredients and spells can be combined and all choices are meticulously balanced.

With the original WITCHER it took me a while to master the timed sword-strokes but it was really satisfying after that. In the sequel, sword-fighting has been simplified to the classic mod and that is one of the gripes I have with this game. The other is the short dialogue options. I like my cRPGs wordy.

Now, the story is far from being linear. Choices matter and choosing a path will bifurcate the story, most of the times irrevocably. And the story in WITCHER 2 is as important as the fighting.

What I also appreciated was the return of consequences. Those of you who have played BALDUR's GATE Saga know that bashing or picking the lock of a chest was a punishable offense if anyone saw you. In contrast, in DA-O you could rob the town blind and (quite unrealistically) the NPCs could not care less. Well, in this game, your character better behave or face the ever vigilant guards.

ADJUST TO YOUR ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF BINDING

Most retail versions of the game come with a simple disc-check, implemented by SecuROM. If you own FALLOUT 3, for example, you have experienced the same thing. Compared to the customer-abusing schemes out there (UBISOFT's and 2K GAMES' ears should be burning at this point) I find this solution not ideal but palatable. And yet it gets better: if you are objecting even to this mild version of SecuROM, the developers made sure to also release the (digital) GOG version of the game which is DRM-free. Just for giving us this option, THE WITCHER 2 gets full marks in my books!

A FINAL SPELL

I have only praises for this magnificent sequel to a great game. It was one of the rare cases when I pre-ordered a game before I knew anything about it and was rewarded with a game that exceeded my highest expectations. I do have some advice for the game developers though.

First, keep showing the same respect to your customers and you will see that gamers know how to repay this with equal respect and loyalty. And finally, when the mega-publishers show up at your door with their mesmerizing bags of money, try to remember what happened to so many great game developing groups in the past that did not resist to temptation.

First things first, let's set some of the other reviewers straight. People are complaining that the bust is 'damaged' upon arrival. This is not the case, some people are just a little slow on the uptake. The bust is designed to replica a classical piece of stonework, and to look ancient. The scuffs and cracks are intentionally there, to make it look weathered and authentic.

The set as a whole, the collector's edition, is one of the best I've ever seen. Most collector's edition sets are made for a small fraction of the price above a regular edition, and charge a great amount more. This is the first such set I have seen that is worth the money.

The whole thing comes in a large high quality cardboard box, not cheap plastic like most other collector's eds. The artbook is clearly the best thing in there. Hardback, 200 pages, glossy full colour A3 size paper, great content. A beautiful collection of works from hand drawn concepts to final digital designs.

The stickers, are....stickers. You know what you're getting there. 3 of them, good for laptops.

The bust is larger than expected, a little over six inches, and nicely designed. The interior box mold that 'holds' all the content is made of a black felted plastic, which can rub off on the bust. A wet cloth removes it just fine.

The dice come in a neat little bag, VERY similar to the World of Darkness brand dice sets sold in stores. Black and printed with a Witcher design. The dice themselves, 5 of them, are nicely made, if of a simple light-weight plastic. An off-white bone colour, with designs actually etched in, not just printed on. All five dice are the same.

The card deck comes in a fitted cardboard box with Geralt on it, simple enough. It's a full deck, just slightly smaller than regular card size. The backs have an original design on them, the aces feature another original design, and each of the 12 'face' cards (Kings, Queens, Jacks) features artwork of a different appropriate character on each one. Dandellion features on the three Jokers. All the remaining cards are as a regular deck.

With the dice and cards comes a 16 page booklet, written in character as Dandellion, detailing some in world card and dice games, as well as some trademark wit.

The coin, a Temerian Oren, is made of solid metal, about heavy as a British 50 pence piece or an American silver dollar. And bears the resemblance of King Foltest and the arms of his city on the reverse. Nice, simple.

A letter is also packaged within, in a designed envelope on mock stained paper. This is an in world replica of a call to arms, and inside is a propaganda leaflet against King Henselt, in the style of Victorian publicity. Also within the envelope is a tiny coin, the size of a British 5 pence piece or an American dime, bearing the sigil of the game's villain, an actually rather cool cephalopoid skull. I prefer this one to the larger Oren, myself.

Two bonus pieces of Downloadable content come with the collectors ed, one specifically from Amazon. The ultimate swordsman suit, and the Roche Commando jacket. These downloadable outfits enhance Geralt's abilities in game.

Last, is of course the papercrafts. The collectors edition comes with a large 'Boss' papercraft, the Draug. Two more smaller ones are also packed, which also come with the regular edition of the game. The first is Geralt De Rivia himself, the second is random, so you don't know who you will get from several others.

As with the Regular edition, inside the game package itself, you will find a large sized two sided map of the realms of the Witcher, featuring some nice artwork. A DVD that contains the games soundtrack, well beyond any soundtrack to an American game in years, and a selection of videos and development diaries. These contain information on characters, design, the game engine and other such diaries. Lastly on the DVD are the game trailers, screenshots, and some promotional art images.

Like the platinum edition of the first game, also packaged is a game guide, full of information on quests, locations, secrets and tips for the game itself.

The game comes on two DVD discs, along with a user manual.

As this is a review of the collectors Edition, I won't go into detail on the game itself, other that to say there are many reviews around the internet, and the vast majority of them agree, The Witcher 2 is probably the best RPG of the decade. Outdoing most everything else in it's class, and putting American game developers to shame.

It is adult, well written, complex, and above all, uses the world of the Witcher brilliantly.

Constant 40+ FPS with sometimes dipping below it also. THIS GAME IS VERY DEMANDING!

Environments are lush, character models are awesome. The animations are very fluid!

Sound:

Character voices are great! Music and all other sounds are awesome!

Game play:

You need to plan ahead of time each time you go into battle (ie set traps, make potions, take potions) You cannot take potions when fighting or running, only during meditation! You may die allot, but you will learn from it. Also, use your silver sword when battling monsters!

Contents of collectors edition:

The bust of Geralt came chipped and scuffed, was definitely disappointed with that.

Art book is very detailed, dice are awesome, so are the cards and the paper craft thingies. Comes with 2 codes for dlc's and a coupon for 10% off a EVGA gfx cart (560ti I think)

Overall a great game, but needs better packaging, but I wont remove any stars for that. Don't know whether if I should send it back or not, any advice would be nice!

At first when I received this game, I had mixed feelings.

Yes it came with a lot of content within the Collectors edition and yes I was surprised by everything that came with it. The boxes little gifts were well worth the amount paid for it. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that the inside of the box was a bit broken (not the material itself but rather the mold that held all the items. More specifically where the statue head was situated). The statue was a bit scuffed with the black felt from the box mold where it had cracked. I would imagine if I was sending a collectors edition of a game, that I would of placed FRAGILE on the box itself. Also the fact that the game was pre-ordered for so long only to have it's launched stalled because patching issue (game crashing randomly and so on).

Now that said, this game is impressively awesome. I've played a full run and finally playing another run, siding with the Rebel Elves and the game has such rich content that I am very impressed. The new patches make the game more stable and the apology from CDR by giving everyone all the DLCs is a wonderful gift.

I absolutely love this game and its great repayable story. I've seen the end and I am guessing there will be a 3rd one or possibly an expansion pack.

This game is a MUST have if your an RPG fan and a Witcher fan. The collectors Edition was a perfect package and worth every penny.

After using this battery pack for about a week, I make the following observations, in order of personal significance:

1. Build quality: The battery pack feels, in a word, solid. There is no flimsy plastic deflection if you press on it and no creaky or uneven seams.

2. Looks: The pack looks great. Yes it is a fingerprint magnet, but it also wipes cleanly to a beautiful gloss to match most smartphones out there.

3. Utility: Very versatile. One port for smartphone and most usb powered gadgets, the other higher amperage port for more power hungry devices, like tablets. I've even used this to charge AA batteries with a usb AA charger. There's nothing I've tried that this won't charge. Also has a built in led "flashlight," but more on this later.

4. Convenience: This pack will charge easily with any usb charger. Standard micro usb connector means you won't have to go searching for a special cable to plug this in and charge it. This pack will also charge as you are using it. This may seem silly if you're at home, plugging this into your computer or power supply, and your phone into the batter, but if you ever use this with a portable solar charger, as I am with the Goal 0 Zero 19010 Guide 10 Plus Adventure Kit Nomad 7 Solar Charger & 4 AA Battery USB Power Pack, then it is great to charge while the battery pack as per the available light, while still being able to charge your device with the battery pack with reserve and stable power. The led light is also very convenient. Not very bright but it's there and charged up when you need a quick light in the dark, and most importantly, so you can see your cable as you plug it into your device (great for iphone, as there really is no way to feel which side is up or down on the charger cable)

5. Support, Brand Name: Honestly I never heard of the brand name. At first glance, it seems like just an "off-brand" made in china product, and the packaging and manual even has chinese alongside english. But the packaging is attractive and not a generic box like you typically see with other generic products. While I have not yet had to call on the company for support, the quality packaging and literature would lead me to believe that this company is out to make a name for itself, and therefore would be responsive. We shall see. The instructions, on the other hand, were terrible. Very engrishy. But the product is so simple and well designed, that I didn't need the instructions.

Final observations: Again, great product, feels very solid and seems to be of high quality. No problems yet, charges everything. Worth the money.

Here is my unbiased review of Anker Astro 2 8400mAh external battery pack:

Charge Efficiency: Its rated at 8,400mAh as it's capacity. The lithium ion battery may have that capacity but it's ability to charge other devices isn't so hot. I understand the Anker power bank needs power of its own to operate and conversion from 3.7v to 5.0v takes energy. I wasn't expecting 100% of 8,400mAh to fully charge into other devices totaling up to 8,400mAh. But I was expecting it to be efficient. I did 5 charge and discharge cycles (though it may not be necessary on lithium batteries but I did it anyways to calibrate it) then I went on with my test to see how much it can charge my Kindle Fire, HTC Evo 3d, HTC Evo, Kindle reader, and portable speaker. Yes, the devices I were charging were completely off to preserve energy for charging only instead of also powering it on. The first charge cycle it totaled 5,425mAh (64% efficiency), 2nd is 6,032mAh (71.81% ), and 3rd is 5,280mAh (62.85%). This means ~28% ~37% of its 8400mAH capacity is unusable. I predicted at least ~20% of 8,400mAh is powering itself which is 1,680mAh and perhaps some energy is loss through heat. I concluded that the circuitry work on it is not as good and/or the lithium ion battery isn't of "higher" grade technology (ie. Panasonic & Sanyo 18650). It fell somewhat below my expectations regarding its most important function. However, I do have an Incredicharge I-11000 with 11000mAh capacity and it is about 65-70% efficient but much bigger in size. Perhaps this is the best we can get with portable battery technology. Another alternative is to buy a high quality spare battery(ies) specifically for your cell phone as 100% of it's rated capacity will be used to power that device. Though, this is not achievable with Apple products or others without removable batteries and that this method can be expensive and impractical if you plan on buying many different batteries for various products.

Time to Charge Anker 8,400 mAh: It takes nearly 8 hours to charge with the included cord and adapter. DC input is rated at 5v/1.5amp which is good, however, the included wall adapter is only 1amp. So the charging could have been quicker if it was included with a 1.5-2amp usb wall charger. Would definitely not charge this thing via a computer (.5amp). By pointing this out it does not mean it's a pro or con since it is accurately stated under product description.

Design: Very nicely polished and sturdy case. USB ports and LED light function as described without any problems. The case is the size of a bridge sized Bicycle cards. Easily carry with you where ever. It is dense and not hollow so I would say it is high quality.

Mislabeling: At the time of ordering Anker Astro 2 I noticed it indicated the 2 USB port is rated at 1amp & 2amp. However, upon receiving the package it is clearly 0.6 & 2amp. 0.6amp is adequate for phones but that is 40% slower than 1amp. I believe another customer has pointed this out in an earlier review. It appears they have fixed this error.

Price: I purchased this mid April for $46.99 but now it is $49.99. Still not a bad deal but price inflation due to more stellar reviews isn't cool. I noticed some feedbacks were left by those who has gotten a free sample for review, could there be a correlation in price increase and demand based on reviews?. Just wanted to let you know the Incredicharge I-11000 I purchased in March went from $49.99 to $79.99 in a span of 1 month. Now I cannot even search for this product on Amazon.com anymore.

Customer Service: LaptopMate replied to emails quickly and seems very concern about customer satisfaction. Their 18 months warranty is the most of all power bank I researched.

Conclusion: Astro 2 is very convenient device that comes with plenty of adapters (btw, it doesn't come with Apple adapter so use your own). I like the idea of charging on the go but plan ahead to charge the Astro 2 as it takes very long. You can considering looking at the Powergen 8400mAh battery which is an identical replica of each other and same price but the Powergen comes with an Apple adapter. It seems like somewhere in Shen Zhen or Guandong China they make these without branding and you can get them in bulk with customization for advertisements. Ebay "Power Bank 8400mAh" and you will see plenty of clones but they have short or no warranty. I hope this review has been helpful to the readers.

Lots of devices need more than 1A to charge but there are very few battery packs that will put out that much current. In fact there are few 12V-5V converters that will do that. This battery pack has both the capacity and current output (2A) to charge pretty much anything that takes 5V phones or tablets. I like the charge indicators and also the flashlight, for emergencies. The instructions were in both chinese and english and they were adequate. I tried the battery on an iPhone, Kindle Fire and HP Touchpad. All charged correctly. Note that there are two USB outputs one is limited to 0.6A and the other to 2A. Use the higher current for tablets.

Purchased the Anker external battery pack for my Samsung Skyrocket 4G LTE phone. The battery pack has already saved me on 2 occasions when I ran out of juice before the day was over! I even plugged up my ipad to it and i still haven't had to recharge it.

The only function of the device that can be improved is the flashlight. It is difficult to turn on and off..and slow to respond so I wind up pushing the on/off button multiple times not knowing if I'm pushing it hard enough. Once you get the flashlight to turn on, it is difficult to turn off and I end up having to push and hold on to the power button for a long time before it will respond. But, this is no big deal as I bought this battery to backup my phone, not use as a flashlight. I can always use the flashlight on my phone.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a portable battery pack for their power hungry smartphone!

Astro 2 external battery by Anker is one of the most powerful, versatile and reliable external batteries that I've come across. It has met or exceeded most of my expectations for such a device. I would strongly recommend it as a travel backup battery for most small electronic devices.

***** The Specs *****

This 8400 mAh battery has one DC 5V 1A input, and two outputs: DC 5V 0.6 A and DC 5V 1 A. The specified input charging time is 6-7 hours, and in my own test I've verified this to be an accurate estimate. The total number of rechargings is specified to be 500, but for obvious reasons I've not been able to test this claim.

***** Battery Capacity *****

At 8400 mAh, Astro2 is the largest-capacity external USB battery that I've ever tested. It has enough capacity to charge an iPhone or any similar small electronic device at least a couple of times. For a less power-hungry device (plain vanilla cell phone, Kindle, etc.) you can expect to get at least full charges from this battery. The two charging outputs have different charging rates, but either one will be able to charge your device in a two to three hours max. I have tested the charger with Morolar Razr, Motoroal Krzr, Amazon's third and fourth generation Kindle, iPhone 3G, iPhone 4S, and the first generation iPad. It performed more than adequately with all of those devices.

In order to get a good, intuitive feel for the charge capacity of this external battery I subjected it to the "iPad test." That is, I try charging my first generation iPad form the fully discharged state in order to see how much "juice" am I able to get. iPad is the largest electronic device that I can think of that would still qualify (barely) into the small-electronics category. (A MacBook Air would definitely be out.) The verdict: I was able to charge the iPad to about 56% capacity. This is, thus far, the most I've been able to get out of any such external battery. It took this battery about two hours to charge it to this level. This means that you'll be able to watch several movies on a trans-oceanic flight and still be able to use your iPad when you land.

***** Accessories *****

The battery comes with a built-in power adapter, two USB cords, one PSP charge adapter, one Nokia adapter, and a micro and mini USB adapters. This versatility of adapter heads means that you'll be able to use this battery with most cellphones and small electronic devices that are popular right now, but the owners of the iOS devices need to remember to use their own Apple USB cord. I wish that the battery came with a small carrying bag or a pouch to put all these accessories in, as I find myself losing these kinds of accessories more often than I care to admit. The battery has a small built-in led flashlight, but I personally don't have much of a need for such a thing.

***** Design and Build *****

The battery sports a slick cool design, and it looks and feels very modern. It doesn't feel cheep, and it will definitely not look out of place with the latest and coolest electronic gizmos. It's a bit on a heavy side, so I'd not recommend carrying it in your pocket or in a purse all the time.

***** The Bottom Line *****

If you are a frequent traveler and carry more than one small electronic device with you all the time, or tend to go on longer trips to places without an easy access to a wall outlet (camping, long flights) then this charger is a must for you. It will keep all of your devices charged for a reasonably long periods of time, and it will give you a peace of mind that you'll never be in a situation where you run out of power. Astro 2 battery is compact and durable, and it will serve well all of your portable charging needs.

This device is very nice because of all the features it comes with! 1080p video recording looks great and gives you the option of either component or HDMI inputs, it can be controlled through their newly released app, and allows for storage directly to a hard drive. I would definitely recommend this to people who are planning on having their gaming setup stationary but not as much to people who are planning on moving theirs around because it's not nearly as small as their Game Capture Portable. This product DOES work with the Xbox One! Also just found out the 'watermark' that appears on the screen (when you watch your recorded items) can be modified to read whatever you want! :D

Therefore, if you choose to post/publish videos you want to kind of 'copyright', this is perfect! You can change the location of it on the screen and everything!

I am still learning about this packed little product and so far, so GREAT! I have yet to try out the commentary but will update when I do.

So that's about it! Unless you buy some other doodads to make this record, it's not going to work as is. The kid below me states 'look at this videothis thing will work' but it's not even the same productit's the LiveCapture which is not the same product this review is for.

Buyer be warned! It supposedly will record Playstation 4 play in the future but it does not right now.

Will update this review when Xbox One is tested this Friday to see if it works on that console. :)

I am sure this device will work perfectly with the old gen consoles but they state it WILL record PS 4 and Xbox One footageTHIS IS UNTRUE. Xbox One is unknown as of right now as it's not released, but I'm thinking the same exact thing will happen with this DRM nonsense.

This will NOT record from your PS 4 console. During ANYTHING or ANY screen while your PS 4 is on, when you hit the 'record' button on the C285, after two seconds the screen will read:

"This HDMI video content is HDCP protected. Unable to record"

And then you have the option to press 'OK' and that's it. You cannot do ANYTHING else.

Not sure why they claim this WILL record without having tried it, but this is basically false advertisement.

I have an email in with AverMedia right now and am waiting for a response as to how to fix this and will update this review when I hear anything else.

As of now though, do NOT buy this product if you intend to record from Xbox One or the Playstation 4. It will NOT work.

As for this product, I'm sure it works beautifully on the older consoles as I have an older C281 that I use and it's amazing so I can only imagine how much better this one will perform. Thumbs way up to buy for Xbox 360 or PS 3 only!

I am a total beginner when it comes to capture cards and this one was the answer to what I was looking for. Not only does this work incredible PC free, the instant upload feature through ethernet connection is innovation at it's best. The only con that I have noticed so far is that it advertises that it records in 1080p in PC Free mode, yet when I had my XBox set to the display in 1080p I could not get the product to display on my screen. When I lowered the display settings on my XBox to 720p, it finally worked. I was able to adjust it to a better quality in the Avermedia settings and that allowed it to display and record in 1080p, but the recording at that quality is just way too choppy(remember, this is still PC Free mode I speak of). Perhaps there is a firmware update for this, I am unaware. Regardless of that small flaw, this thing will blow your mind. Beginners to the capture card universe, this is the one for you.

When I went to install the software on my computer my virus scanner (Norton) told me that it had a trojan2 virus on it. I tried to use it straight into the Xbox and it wanted to format my old hard drive for use, which would have erased about 100 gigs of data including all of my Rock Band songs. I would recommend only using the offical Xbox cable from Microsoft for this, which I thought this one was.

The software is public domain pirate software. It will often glitch and crash, the cable even with good software will often cause failures. Do not buy.

I recently bought this item because I'm in a transition stage from my old Halo 3 Edition Xbox 360 to a new Xbox 360 Slim. I wanted to transfer all the data from my old hard drive to the new 250GB one in the Slim. I connected my old hard drive to the Slim and it isn't formatted to register my old hard drive as a Microsoft Xbox 360 hard drive; instead it simply identitfies it as a USB storage device. The problem with this is in order to format the old hard drive, it needs to delete all data on it, which is the last thing I want if I'm trying to transfer that data. The small disc that came with the cable doesn't run in the Xbox 360 Slim (and I hope it isn't some sort of malware). I'm really not sure if there is an instance you would want to use this cable unless you have a blank USB storage device that you would like to format for the 360 and put media on it from a computer and transfer that to the 360.

I am beyond livid.

I had purchased this in hopes of migrating my data from my 20GB 360 HDD that I've had for about four years, ONLY to find out that this cheap knockoff DOES NOT WORK AS INTENDED. As the other reviews had pointed out, when you connect ANY 360 hard drive via this piece of junk, it only recognizes it as a USB Storage Device, to which, the Xbox 360 will only format up to 16GB. Therefore, if you've purchased a 250 GB HDD in hopes of moving all of your data over, you're out of luck using this trash.

The transfer process involves connecting your old hard drive to the cable, while the new hard drive is connected directly to your 360. Sadly, the knockoff cable DOES NOT WORK AS INTENDED, and the system will want to reformat your old hard drive, therefore wanting to DELETE ALL YOUR DATA!! Also, at least with the latest 360 firmware (as of 3/20/11), the included compact disc is only recognized as a mixed media disc in the 360; I havent placed the compact disc in my MacBook Pro, so I can't vouch for the disc's contents.

All-in-all, DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK! THIS IS A RIPOFF! You're better off buying the official transfer cable from Microsoft to ensure your data is migrated properly!

This is a horrible product, it did not work at all, either the disk of the cable. The tiny disk that it includes is only read as a mixed media disk that cannot be played by the console and when I connected the hard drive that I wanted to pass my content to, it did not even detect it. Seriously, don't waste your money, if anything this is probably a scam that should be reported and removed from the website.

Ever since Zatch Bell went off of Toonami I still watch it to this day, it's a great anime (though the slightly more mature version "Konjiki no Gash Bell!!" is far superior)

However I expected a fun game but all this is is a repetitive mess.

It's entertaining for a while but after you unlock everything (which I've done) it gets boring.

Only for Zatch Bell fans really.

The game is a good game for the fans of the show. You can use all the spells from the show even with a little extra. There aren't that many characters you can be (14 characters) and they're easy to unlock, There's only two main modes being story mode and time attack, and there's only fighting and nothing else. 2 player mode is really fun because it's cool if both of the players are good at the game. There is only one character that can't use spells and that's Ponygon. If you're a Zatch Bell fan I suggest you get the other game, Mamodo Fury. It's a lot more fun.

I DID NOT receive a Mad Catz adapter. I was a little upset that it is advertised as such. I specifically was looking to purchase one since the one that we had previously had a good connection. I have purchased two other brands, Yobo which after 3 weeks has torn up (don't suggest purchasing that brand) and Gamestop that was only compatible with the PS2 slim and not the PS2 original system. So far the adapter I received will allow me to hook the system through my son's dvd player. However, the picture is not as clear as it was with the Mad Catz adapter. If you are looking specifically for a Mad Catz, do not buy from this store. I rated it 3 stars because it worked.

I didn't buy my Mad Catz RF adapter here on Amazon. I believe my mom got it for me at GameStop store. From that point in time until now, it has never failed me. Between then and now, I want to say it's been close to, roughly, 10 years that I've had this item. I have never seen any lines on my television. It's not broken and it certainly isn't a poorly made product. I don't know what everybody else is talking about on here, but I have to disagree with all the negative reviews.

Most people (especially the kids) forcefully insert the point of entry of the adapter into the back of the television slot where the cable goes, initially breaking the tip. If you are not familiar with what I'm talking about, or if it sounds funny, I'm talking about the small tip/point that is in the cable wire that you insert in the back of your television. Sometimes, jiggling or moving the cable will break the point as well. A lot of this happens, and then say the product is cheap, no good, poorly made, etc. It's very delicate, so the forceful you are, the easier it will break.

I have used my RF adapter constantly and it has always successfully come through. The item is worth it, so don't hesitate on buying.

This attachment is a piece of utter garbage. Originally I used it for my PS1, in which I'd have to detach it and plug in the cable feed after every gaming session so our cable television wasn't riddled with grainy lines. And then with my PS2 (which I hooked up to a different television than the previous generation Playstation) I got to enjoy my newly purchased games without any sound! I say this as a man who was stricken with a genuinely poor product, and not someone fresh off another infuriating instance with this total piece of junk. All of this happened some time ago, I just now decided to herald this worthless hunk of bilge because I came across it and felt it my duty to gravely warn you of it. Save yourself the frustrations and money, really.

I had a PS3 briefly and RE5 was one of the games I really liked on it, but I think the PC version is the best. Any PC gamer will know there is just no comparison with the better accuracy you get with a mouse and keyboard versus a gamepad. Much more precise shooting, this is especially evident in the fast paced mercenaries mode. The game overall is pretty fun but my one complaint is that the story mode is a little short, compared to RE4 at least. Though the mercenaries mode hugely makes up for it with replay value (unlike older RE titles where I would only replay once in a blue moon). Its intense, addictive and incredibly fun one of the best additions and modes to RE. Nothing like getting attacked by hordes of zombies and having a huge arsenal of weapons to fend them off..! Also in the PC version they added a new No Mercy mode with even larger swarms and it is absolutely nuts. Mercenaries is a blast and a MUST PLAY for all RE fans. Finally, the graphics look slightly better than the console version. You can make out a bit more detail in the PC version and it sure looks pretty. All in all I will say RE5 is right up there with RE2 and 4 as my favorites in the series. There seems to be a lot of negative reviews out there because the old RE survival horror style was abandoned. But I think the reverse would happen if they continued the same formula, there would be the "seen it, done that before" complaints. Personally I lovedd the new fresh direction RE4 took and RE5 just builds on that with more enemies and weapon upgrades.

Let me start by mentioning I'm old enough that I played the original Resident Evil when it was a newly released PlayStation (I) game. I've played all of the noteworthy RE versions (i.e. Zero, RE1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, and 4). The graphics for RE 5 (PC version) are incredible. A number of reviews mention that this port is better than the game consoles. I can see why. The game has a decent fun factor, but here's the problem: it isn't Resident Evil in the survival horror tradition established by all the previous versions, including 4. With RE 4 the franchise did head in a new direction, finding a niche between the original RE games with the adventure/puzzle solving aspect, and the more common first person shooters that are basically shoot 'em and move on. I loved RE 4. It perfectly captured the best of both worlds. Apparently Capcom decided that the natural evolution was to move RE further into the FPS domain. Well, they succeeded. I'm no longer playing an RE game--I'm playing a shooter that is otherwise just like all the other FPS games, except that it's not a first person perspective, it's third person. There is no real story here like you came to expect in the early RE games. Really there isn't any story at all--just a continuation of RE 4's storyline, but without the logic puzzles and adventure aspect from the early games that RE 4 had managed to retain. There's lots of non-stop shooting--and no story worth mentioning. So if you want a really great FPS that is actually a 3rd person shooter with great graphics that is made by Capcom, this game should be perfect for you. IMHO, Capcom should have stuck with the RE 4 formula. RE 5 is a fun game, but not the traditional Resident Evil I have been seriously addicted to in the past. I could have survived without this one...

UPDATE (Feb. 2010) I was about half way through the game when I wrote my review above. I take back what I said about RE 5 not having a story. It's kind of a sequel to RE 4, and has references to things that have occurred throughout the series. I give it a 4 out of 5 on the story. Also, despite the fact that RE 5 is not in the same style as the traditional Resident Evil games, I've ended up being as addicted to this one as any of the previous renditions. Actually, I can't stop playing. This is a real problem. I probably need psychological help...

Best Deals for Resident Evil 5 - PC

I have played Resident Evil 5 on both PC and Xbox 360. Between the two if you have both systems avaliable to you, get the 360 version and here is why.

Xbox 360:

Pros:

1. Easy for those who have difficulty playing with a keyboard and mouse.

2. Released DLC that was not released for the PC version

Cons:

1. Missing one mode for Mercenaries mode that was released for PC "No Mercy"

2. Inventory is a pain with only four quick swap buttons on the d-pad.

3. DLC has to be downloaded offline (Only comes with a ticket for download of all DLC)

PC:

Pros:

1. Much easier to target enemies with the recticule instead of a laser sight.

2. Movements have become ever so slightly less tank-like.

Cons:

1. Lacks the DLC of both 360 and PS3

2. Requires logging onto Windows Live to play with your account.

3. No split screen.

The beginning idea:

Chris Redfield is sent to Africa to try and capture the terrorist Irving with his new partner Sheva Alomar. Like most games it is never that easy and both protaganists run into problems while on the way to the transaction point between Alpha Team and Irving.

If you only have a PC then I would recommend this for any Resident Evil fan. For a stretch I would also recommend to new players to the franchise, but if the option is there, get the Xbox 360 or PS3 Gold Edition of the game.

For what is given as a basic game (before the two platforms got DLC) this has more original content such as one new outfit only on PC for Chris and Sheva. "No Mercy" mode in Mercenaries, even with the DLC is not avaliable on the 360 or PS3 version.

Gameplay Solid action game, the puzzles of earlier RE games are gone. The focus is entirely on action, and it's a good change. The RE puzzles have always been easy, just a series of "Do I remember where I saw the X shaped keyhole before?". If you're only playing single player, I'd say pass and get another game. If you have a friend to play with, definitely pick this up. This is what Left 4 Dead should have been.

Sound/Music Solid, though the volume seems a little low to me.

Controls Mouse aiming, MUCH better than the port of Resident Evil 4. You still have to stand still to shoot, but fans of the series should be used to this by now.

Online play The co-op main campaign is amazing, other modes are all right... but if you aren't interested in the main campaign, you're better off just purchasing Left 4 Dead for a zombie slaughter fest. One thing I must note you can NOT communicate with keyboard, communication MUST be through microphone which is somewhat of a disappointment (I find a lot of people don't have mics or are too shy to talk).

Overall Game runs great on even some low end PCs. Kudos to Capcom. Great game for multiplayer, but if you're just looking for single player I'd suggest waiting for the price to drop a bit.

It's becoming clear to us that Capcom hates PC gamers. Re4 doesn't have mouse support. Re5 took several months to be released. ORC couldn't be preordered, and while Capcom is making noises about an Re6 port, there's no ETA for it, so don't hold your breath.

Re5 is probably going go down in history as the most hated game in the series, at least as far as hardcore fans are concerned. Where Re4 took the classic survival horror franchise and tweaked it, Re5 throws out most of the good, while keeping all the bad. Hate button mashing? It's back, and with a vengeance. Enjoy having a large inventory? Well, now it's been shrunk down to just 18 boxes, and is all in real time. Hate ridiculous instant-death enemies? Well, guess what: there are about fifteen nigh-unkillable foes in this game, who you'll encounter all over the place.

Re5 takes us back to Chris Redfield (as the pattern has been set, odd numbered games star a STARS member, while even numbered entries, excluding Re0 and Code Veronica, star either Leon or Claire). Chris has bulked up significantly since Code Veronica (I don't think it looks bad, but a lot of people hate it). He also carries a machete, and has been partnered up with new character Sheva Alomar, his old partner Jill Valentine (star of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3) having been killed two years earlier (and off camera, no less!).

I won't deal anymore with the plot, except to say that it's very, very bad. Plagas return from the previous game. Not only that, they're the main enemy...and we're never even told why! They're just there, and it's the only real connection between this game and the previous one. There are a few new forms, but some of the most interesting creatures (like the invisible novistadors or mobile armadura suits of armor) are not present, replaced by bland, repetitive towns people, mercenaries (this time carrying Ak-74s and RPG 7s), and the odd native tribesman, giant, or dog. None of the enemies (aside from one boss, Ricardo Irving) are especially memorable characters (certainly none as quirky as Raymond Salazar, or downright scary as Re3's Nemesis). Instead, we get a constant parade of disgusting and obscenely cheap foes (the cone of death from Re4 returns, and we also have bullet proof enemies with undodgeable instant-death attacks thrown into the mix).

As far as gameplay goes, I'm no longer able to take Gamespot seriously after reading their review, which stated how flawless this PC port was. Resident Evil 5 forces you to do everything (including making healing items, reloading, and discarding useless items) in real time, which is all the more frustrating because you also have to stand still, meaning you'll constantly get creamed by some enemies while trying to heal yourself (especially in the Mercenaries minigame). On top of this is an obscenely broken mechanic called "Dying status," which your character will enter into after taking in a certain amount of damage. Your partner will have to drop everything and run over to you, either giving you a shot of adrenaline, or using a random healing item. What makes this even worse is, while you're stumbling around bleeding out, you can't attack (unlike last stand in CoD), but can still be hit by nearby enemies, which almost always results in an instant kill. Worse still, you can be grappled into Dying, at which point you'll be unable to escape, and *always* die. When playing Mercenaries alone, you'll have to button mash instead of waiting for a teammate, which is its own bundle of fun, since one enemy in particular has a nasty habit of camping on you, putting you in dying status right after you recover (this happened three times in a row on one game). As a frustrating side note, the chickens from Re4 are now hostile and can attack you, throwing off your aim, and even kill you (sadly, this has happened too).

Another broken aspect is a pointless rail-shooting level a third of the way in, which is both badly planned and generally a huge waste of time. Even worse, this level is impossible on the PC, as dodging commands requiring one button with a controller require two or three unrelated ones here, simply because, well, Capcom can.

The PC controls are, in fact, the worst part of the game. We have two separate aiming schemes, one which leaves a persistent cross hair on screen (but takes away your ability to aim up past a certain point), while the just adds mouse aiming to the standard Re4 scheme. This works the the better of the two, so long as you don't plan on playing Mercenaries. As for me, this is the only game I've ever played through start to finish with a controller, because the PC controls are just THAT BAD. The controller is to video games what a joy stick is to driving; it can get the job done, but there are better options. The inventory is totally unusable on the PC (you have to tell the game to prioritize items for it, and even then it's still a massive pain to reload or combine items). Thanks to forced co-op, you have to do everything in real time, which means you'll have to wait for a lull in the action to reload or make Green/Red Herb combos with the keyboard, something you won't have time for in the average seven-minute Mercenaries game.

On top of THAT, we get to the PC "exclusives" a new game type and a couple of pretty lame costumes. No Mercy mode for the Mercenaries causes massive system lack, since it just causes more enemies to spawn. The two costumes were later made part of a far more extensive console-only DLC, which added four new characters, along with two other new costumes, to the Mercenaries, along with two exclusive side stories. The Vs. DLC was also console only; even though it's on the frigging disk for the PC version, you have to hack the game to play iy! It appears Capcom just isn't in the business of making money anymore...
