First and foremost, this is an import title and you will need a guide to play it if you don't understand Japanese. If you have played any other games in this series then you should have no issues. All of the menus are in English as well so navigating through different modes is no problem, there is a good guide on gamefaqs that will help you learn the basics and unlock characters. The presentation and layout of this game is excellent, very polished and simple. Graphically I am completely amazed, all of the characters look like they were ripped straight out of the show, the backgrounds are all spot on as well. Plenty of music from the show is in here as well as voice acting by the cast of the anime. This is the largest roster in a Bleach fighting game to date, pretty much everyone you would expect is here. Several Vaizard are included as well as most of the Espada, some of the former Espada and a few other Arrancar thrown in for good measure. Aizen and company in their fancy new duds to boot...and Tessai from the Turn Back the Pendulum arc. As this game just came out in May, a few characters are not yet playable as their abilities had not yet been revealed in the manga or on the anime. Barragan and Starrk are out unfortunately, Hallibel is included though which is a nice touch. Ulquiorra in his second released form and Ichigo's released Hollow form aren't here either...but the next installment is sure to have them all...sweet. The animation is as fluid as I've seen on the PSP, not a trace of slowdown. Load times are minimal which is tragically rare on the PSP. Gameplay is very simple, easy to learn but it will take time to fully master. You can get away with button mashing for the most part if that's your style, you'll need to hone your skills to unlock everything though. There are tag battles if you wish, arcade mode, vs cpu mode, training mode etc etc. If the price you see here doesn't jive with you...which it shouldn't...you can get this from several different import sites or snatch it up on ebay for much less money. If you are a Bleach superfan, and you almost certainly are, BUY IT.

I love this game, I really do; it's a fun game that's easy enough to play...ONCE YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT. I just want to make something clear for people like me who buy before they read all about a product: this game is ENTIRELY in Japanese. Unless you read Japanese, either don't buy this, figure out how to read Japanese, or find a website that details what each and every thing in the game means (like I did). It's got pretty good graphics and has a varied amont of playable characters which I enjoyed but, once again, they speak Japanese. So it's a fun Bleach game, but just make sure you're aware of the fact that it's in Japanese.

The character details, designs and backgrounds in this game are superb, especially considering that this is on the PSP. The effects from executed attacks are flashy and smooth. The background adds depth to the overall experience. And, the character models have a great blend of anime and 3D styling to give them a very attractive appeal.

The music, voiceovers and sound FX in this game are great! Everything is just like the anime, so it greatly immerses you into it. However, being a PSP title, you need headphones plugged in to full y appreciate the sound.

Those of you interested in this game already know the story of Ichigo Kurosaki and company. The story mode starts out near the end of the first season (just before the Soul Society is introduced) and ends before the "Assualt on Karakura Town" Arc; however, Halibel is in this game. The story follows the manga. Also, the two movies are thrown into the game, as well. Obviously, the subtitles and voiceovers are all in Japanese, but, if you have followed the entire series, you can easily figure out what is going on.

Bleach: Heat the Soul 6 is a very fluid 2D fighter, with 3D models, on a 3D plane. The characters have been tweaked and balanced again. There are still a few moves and characters that are just plain more powerful than others, though. Even with characters jumping in and out with a special move or Bankai going on all at once, I never noticed any slow down. The moves and move sets are great; however, a bit limited.

The modes include: Story, which has a total of 61 missions; Soul Championship, were parts of the story are played out in a tournament structure spanning over 50 tournaments; Arcade; VS; Soul VS, were your can customize a character with certain traits (like regenerative reiatsu or increased defense) and fight other players/characters with custom traits. In most of the modes you can fight singularly or team up with another character for "tag mode."

As I stated earlier, there are many different modes to keep you entertained. Plus, you have 56 total characters to master and 29 environments to fight in.

Bleach: Heat the Soul 6 is a very fun, well-paced game that is only available for the PSP in Japan. We will definitely see a 7th and probably 8th or even higher game in the coming years. The series still has a ways to go, so expect to see a yearly release of Bleach: Heat the Soul for awhile. The 5th game was my first to play in this series. It was awesome and I'm completely happy with the 6th installment. Yes, this is a Japan only title, but PSP systems are region free. So, don't hesitate, pick this game up now! You can get below the final score.

Honest reviews on Bleach Heat the Soul 6

Actually, I first got this game off of about a year or so ago and I still love to the play the game like it's an american version. But sadly, it's not. Note that everything in here somewhat is in Japanese. So, if you're the type of person that can't read Japanese then you might then a book for this then. Other than that, the story is just like it is off of Bleach with Arrancars, Espada, Ichigo and the gang. It's really fun if I say so myself. The controls are easy enough to master. Almost like you're playing a Naruto game. The characters look decent enough. Better than the earlier series of Heat the Soul. But, the tag teams are fun. You get to switch in and out for your characters. In Heat the Soul 5 and above they didn't do that. So, this is a huge improvement to Bleach. Yet...don't get me started on this insane price. I only got mine for 60 or so bucks. Like the other writer said, look for some imported sights that sell this game so you won't get ripped off. Like, Play-Asia is one and Yesasia and Gamesasia are good. Though I'm only on Play-asia because they give you 5 dollor coupons whenever you order something from them. Yesasia has free shipping but costs a little than play-asia and I haven't been on gamesasia in awhile so I don't know about that site. But, you should get it if you're into import games or Bleach.
