Well, here it is, the new game in THQ's SMACKDOWN series. And here is my two cents' worth on it.

First off, the graphics are improved over the last game, and the roster of superstars includes many more wrestlers to choose from. Entrances and lighting effects are brillintly done, giving you a feel that you are wrestling on TV. Soundwise this thing is great, too. Every move actually resounds with impact when you hit, even a standard punch, whereas in Just Bring It, some moves would sound DEVASTATING on impact (*BOOM!*) and others would fizzle out. There is absolutely NOTHING like hearing a WEAK little *pop* when you have just smashed your opponent face-first into the canvas.

Other great points: The commentary is not THAT much better than JBI but at the same time it is a LOT better in the sense that although they can repeat phrases they don't do it as much as before, and the lines have a little more to do with what is going on in the ring. Plus the way that Good ol' JR and Jerry

"The King" Lawler deliver their lines just SOUNDS better and less stiff than Michael Cole and Tazz did it in JBI.

Another big plus is that you have more freedom than ever as to how you want your created wrestlers to look, move and whatnot. And the best part...say it with me....SEASON MODE! HALLELUJAH. Now, instead of wrestling four matches to win the Heavyweight Championship Belt, you have to go through TWO FULL YEARS of matches. AND hang onto your hats boys and girls, it gets even better than this. After you win a belt, you can have other types of matches. In other words, not EVERY match will be a title defense, like it was in JBI, where if you won a belt, the STORY mode would be one match where you had to defend your belt and that's it. This gives you plenty of time to form alliances and pick fights and so on. Believe me, I have been involved in several heated feuds already, and the game gives you the motivation to want to protect your buddies to the last breath and to knock your opponents head off and laugh at them after you win. More than that, it does a great job of making you feel you are a part of the WWE roster because your wrestler has a two year "career" instead of a four-match display of wrestling prowess. Also, with the new counter system requiring more guesswork, it is harder to win matches and consquently it can be harder to get title shots, and to win the belts, so that when you do win a belt you feel like you have accomplished something. Another plus, you now have the option to attack your opponent after you win a match. Perfect for the times you just BARELY managed to win and want to vent your frustrations, or for the times you have thoroughly beat the stuffing out of your opponent and you just want to add a little more salt to his wounds, or to add a little insult to injury, so to speak.

There are some minor (to me) issues with the game, as some have mentioned. You cannot wrestle for or defend belts in exhibition mode, and the female wrestlers you create cannot be used in Season Mode to a great extent, as there is no Women's Championship Belt. To me though this didn't matter. To some it may, but not to me. I am having far too much fun with my WWE career. And I happen to think that how FUN a game is to play is far more important than any features a game may or may not have. And for the record, blood is not necessary. It would have been sort of neat to have blood in there, but having the wrestlers bleed or not is a tiny issue. The game isn't any less fun for me to play just because the wrestlers don't bleed.

Well, that's my piece. Pick this up, if you get the chance. I wish you many hours of fun with it, and happy gaming. Peace, and God bless you.

WWE Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth is without a doubt the best wrestling game ever if not the best game period! The games graphics are incredible! Honest reviews on WWE Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth

It has tons of superstars including Randy Orton, John Cena, Maven,Rico, Shawn Michaels and NWO, Goldust, Shawn Stasiak,Ric Flair, Brock Lenser,Dimond Dallas Page, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, and of course Ray Mysterio Jr. Also it has some reaturning superstars like The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H,Kurt Angle(Bald), Kane, and even Stone Cold Steve Austin. It will even have WCW stars and ECW stars.

The Season Mode is much better then Smackdown 3. It is longer the Smackdown 3. It even covers all of what happended this year and part of last year. Like the Draft Decision. Also the new Genral Managers. Also when Vince brings the NWO. Also when The Rock got beat up by them.

There is 14 differend areans including Wrestle Mania 18. You can also go in the sub way, WWE New York, and outside of the areans.

Also it has full comentary with J.R.and king on Raw and Tazz and Michael Cole on Smackdown. Also for the Draft Decision stars can defect to other shows. You can have the chose of beating up a superstar after the match is over. But there will be no blood in the game ... You can't go into the crowd. It is really turning out to be a very good game. I can's wait until it comes out on November the 14.

WWE Smackdown : Shut Your Mouth is a sequel to the popular WWE Smackdown series on Playstation 2. After the third installment, which proved to be a real dissapointment, the game is back, with lots of new characters, more realistic gameplay and a host of new match options, not to mention an amazing Season mode and an incredibly detailed Create a Wrestler mode. The graphics have also been tweaked to perfection, with floppy hair movements and beatiful facial, sweat and expression animations. All in all, it is a great game, but there are still parts that need improving.

First of all, I will start off with the graphics. There really are few faults I can find with them, to be honest. Each wrestler has been made excellently, with facial movements being spot on and very nice attires on all the stars, which are very realistic. The hair looked awful in the previous three titles, but it has been changed in this game, with the hair flopping around while playing, which looks a lot more realistic compared to the hair that looked like it had been stuck on it the other games. The graphics are not perfect though. They are pretty damn good, but there is one huge glitch overall on them, and that is that wrestlers still frequently dissapear through each other during matches. It looks very unrealistic when you have your opponent in a headlock and your hands are dissapearing through their neck. That is pretty much the only fault I can find with the graphics, they are otherwise fantastic.

Next catergory is gameplay. Believe it or not, there are yet more options in SYM than JBI. In the Exibition, there are well over 70 types of matches to play, such as Cage, TLC, Ladder, Hell in a Cell and Slobberknocker stipulated match ups. There are also some new options, such as Captain Fall Six Man Tag. in which you select a captain for each team, and they must be pinned to win the match. There are traditional Royal Rumble and King of the Ring match options too. On top of all this, there is a killer Season mode. First off you select a superstar to play as in the Season. You then get to participate in the Roster Draft, in which you get to be either Ric Flair or Vince McMahon, and get to choose what stars appear on your program, which is either Raw or Smackdown. This is a lot of fun to do. Your star then starts the Season, which lasts two years, and there are loads of options here, as you try to gain superstar points and work your way up the ranks to try and become Undisputed Champ. On the way, at every PPV you win a match, you get to unlock something, such as an arena, superstar attire or CAW parts. The Season and Exibition modes are both superb. Only problem I have with the Season is that there are no voice overs, but never mind.

Now the sound. Again, very impressive here, the WWE have licensed a lot of superstar themes, such as Edges "Never Gonna Stop" theme by Rob Zombie, Rob Van Dams "One of a Kind" by Breaking Point, and Litas "Lovefurypassionenergy" by Boy Hits Car. There are however a few themes missing. The Hardy Boyz and Tajiri and Stacy Keibler all have their respective themes replaced by generic music, and Maven has the Smackdown theme, instead of the TE theme. Kanes latest theme is also noticebly absent. Bar those few themes though, all the other superstar themes are in, and the sound is very good. During matches, you get a stompy rock generic theme, which is okay. Overall, thumbs up for the sound.

Now, the roster. The roster is very good, with 60 WWE superstars to choose from. There are several new names in SYM, such as Booker T, Brock Lesnar, Rob Van Dam, Stacy Keibler and Hulk Hogan. Several big name superstars are however missing, such as Rey Mysterio, Paul Heyman, Jamal and Rosey and Eric Bischoff, making the roster a bit outdated. There is the CAW mode to create these stars, and it is not a hard job as the CAW mode is the best I have ever seen, with things being so in depth you can even do face morphing, very impressive. Overall, a decent roster, despite several big name stars missing.

Now finally the lifespan. There are many aspects to SYM that will keep you hooked for ages, such as unlocking everything and creating characters in the CAW mode. The Season will also keep you playing for a long time. The gameplay however, can get slightly repetitive and boring after a few weeks, which might put you off playing it to complete it 100%. The gameplay is a lot more realistic than the other three games, but is still very samey with similar (but easy to pick up) controls. Still, if you are a diehard WWE fan this will keep you playing for a good few weeks to say the least. Lifespan is good, but not great. Basically, you will be playing for weeks, but not months.

Overall, excellently produced WWE game, most realistic WWE game yet. I give it 4/5, because it is not perfect, but damn sure close. Good, good game well worth a look even if your not a wrestling fan, but if you are a WWE fan with a PS2 this is an essential buy.
