This game is not for the impatient as it is very hard, but it's a lot of fun. I think comparing this to World of Warcraft is like comparing apples to oranges. It is a lot of fun if you set aside comparing it to other MMORPGs.As for the actual product itself, not a whole lot comes with it. It has step by step instructions on how to install it to your Xbox. You do have to create an account with Square-Enix's website so be ready to hop back and forth from the computer to Xbox for a bit. It's not difficult if you just follow the instructions. It also comes with some free equipment for your character, which the headpiece in game is AMAZING. Very helpful for brand new players. A couple things you must know are that you cannot install this on a 4 Gig Xbox unless you have a hard drive installed. It takes about 10 gigs of memory so make sure you have space. It also takes several hours to download, so just be patient.
I'm very satisfied with this purchase and have already recruited 3 friends to purchase it. It's definitely a game you want your friends to play as the difficulty level does spike a bit after your first 20 levels. The product is simple (if you follow instructions), a lot of fun, and a great FF to add to the collection!

What you get is the whole complete experience of FFXI with all the previous expansion. Everything before Seekers of Adoulin is fantastic experience. Much have been streamlined and made it to be less grinding, less waiting, more things to do and huge amount of missions and end game activities. Extremely solo and casual play friendly especially the Abyssea content. And then we are getting this big pile of mess that is Seekers of Adoulin....Do not buy this half baked expansion and wait for them to update the content, at least 3 more big updates. This expansion destroyed the current FFXI game by rendering everything else before it useless and no longer valid. It is a total mess of a product, poorly done, and everything is badly implemented. I would wait after more updates being made. Save your money, and wait for price drop, which it will drop considering the poor reception.
In closing if you just ignore the newest expansion, then you definitely get the most bang for your bucks with more contents than you can ever imagine to complete. Yes it is a 10 years old game, but the gameplay mechanic is still solid, the community is still there, and they have done a lot of improvement in the last 3 years alone to almost make it a brand new faster pace FFXI experience. Just steer away from SoA contents until at least another big updates, which should be by Oct or November 2013.
