I don't play a lot of fighting games. Heck, I haven't even played Street Fighter 4. I'm lousy at remembering combos, let alone pulling them off. But I decided to take a chance on this, because I loved the idea of a darker themed DC game.
Anyway, after a few quick fights with my brother, I started on Story Mode. Honestly, I was a little taken aback at the average graphics on show in the cut scenes. Not awful, just fairly dated. As time went on I understood why. This game has about an hour of cut scene footage, so naturally it wasn't all going to look amazing. The story isn't anything we haven't seen before, ending up a lot similar to those episodes of Justice League, albeit a lot darker.
As for the combat itself, I really like it. As I said, I'm not great at fighting games, but I found it to be accessible, though obviously it would take practice to be able to pull off more difficult moves.
The super moves are endlessly entertaining to watch, although they feel like they would have been better suited to be finishing moves, as seeing someone hop straight up after being punched through a freaking planet takes away from it a little.
The maps are awesome, with plenty of ways to hurt opponents with the environment. And you can freaking knock opponents into things like inmates' cells in Arkham, or the Phantom Zone in the Fortress of Solitude. Now THAT'S fun! All that aside, they look pretty good as well,
In the end, I'd recommend it to both DC fans and fans of fighting games. I've just finished the story mode, it's 1am and I have no intention of switching the game off yet. On to other modes we go!

I have seen some reviews from people that have not actually played the game. I will do my best to review it, I do not consider myself a gamer and I have finished the story mode. I am a huge DC fan and I think that this game did the DC universe a lot of justice and you can tell it was treated with love.Is it a fighting game? Yes it is, look at the developer they created Mortal Combat.
Will you see Mortal Combat as you play the game? Maybe, the thought crossed my mind a couple of times as I was playing it.
Do I like fighting games? No, I do not, I always avoid them because I can't do a combo move to save my life.
Did I enjoy this game? Very much, the story is good, the super heroes are really good. I think the cut scenes make the game so much better.
Was the game too easy? It is not a question or being easy or not. The difference between this game and other fighting games that I have played in the past (have not played one in 15 or so years) is that this game wants you to experience the complete story and if you lose a match the game automatically adjust difficulty to let you win, again the game wants you to experience the story.
Do the matches seem fair? Well that is where I found it interesting... I mean when I played solo (as Green Arrow) Superman took me to the stratosphere and then one shoted me back to earth and Green Arrow survived it. It was cool, but I was like... wait a minute. Same thing happened when fighting Doomsday.
Do I care about graphics? No I do not.
Did it have good graphics? I thought so.
Having said that I finished the story mode and had a lot of fun doing it, without giving away too many spoilers you get to see some nice cut scenes with complete armies going at it, You have to try the story mode at least once. I played the solo option with green arrow (my favorite hero). It was a lot of fun.
Will I replay this game? Sure I will but I will most likely will either go online to lose a few matches or try to do it solo. In a few months I will try the story again. I hope they do DLC's with more superheroes. I would love to see the Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, the Spectre, Catman or Dr. Midnite or even Darkseid! This game just lends itself to so much imagination. They could do DLC's just for hero packs and I would buy them just to get more heroes and villains to make them fight together.

Bought for my grandson for graduation and he and my other grandkids play it all the time...they love it so therefore I do too!!Honest reviews on Injustice: Gods Among Us - Xbox 360
NetherRealm Studios wanted to produce a fighting game without being forced to implement certain features that people expect from all MK games: fatalities, a block button, familiar special moves for all known characters, etc. For the most part, they did a fantastic job at designing a well-balanced game with an interesting cast. They broke away from a lot of fighting game elements that, in my opinion, were holding MK9 back. For example, the "back to block" element will surely please fans of Capcom fighting games. Although it took me a few days to get used to, I actually prefer this feature to a block button now. It feels very natural. In addition, Fatalities are gone! Although this will surely upset casual players of MK, I think that it is a fantastic change. Fatalities are unnecessary and overly gruesome, and I think that they deduct from the competitive nature of the game.Injustice features a large array of other great features: a fantastic story mode, a hugely improved training mode (it's actually useful, unlike the training mode in MK9), a cast that will make any comic book fan drool, etc. I'm not going to repeat the other positive things that others have said. I agree with most of them. Instead, I want to focus on the two things that ruin this game for me.
The first: interactables. Scattered throughout the fighting arenas are "interactable" objects. These items can be thrown or shoved at an opponent. Some can be used to fire projectiles at your opponents, too. Although this feature may seem cool, there is a huge flaw in the system: all interactables are unblockable. In addition, they do an immense amount of damage and track your opponent! In a lot of situations, avoiding your opponent's interactables is possible. In others, it is not. This sets up an unfortunate situation in which your opponent can combo you for 40% only to hit you with a 20% interactable as soon as you get back off the ground. Since they're unblockable, there's isn't much you can do other than take damage. So.... your one little mistake (the one that got you into a combo in the first place) led to 60%+ of your life being taken away. And since you got knocked out with an interactbale, your opponent has a huge advantage as you try to get up.
If you watch competitive Injustice players dueling it out, you will notice a huge emphasis on interactables. They're so powerful (and risk-free) that it's almost not worth playing the game the way it was intended: hand-to-hand combat. In my opinion, using an interactable should cost 1 bar of meter. Any move that is tracking and unblockable should cost a lot to use.
Secondly, the game was officially ruined upon the release of Scorpion, a well-known ninja from the Mortal Kombat universe. This character has caused a huge uproar in the community, with most well-known competitive players agreeing that he should be officially banned from all tournaments. Scorpion's movelist breaks the entire engine of the game: his teleport hits from behind, so it can't be blocked by holding back. This teleport is lightning fast--almost twice as fast as the MK version. The teleport is also a lot less punishable than it was in MK, and with online lag, it's practically impossible to punish it on reaction. His meter burn teleport is actually advantageous on block! At that, Scorpion has a tracking unblockable special move. This means that no matter where you are: you must always fear your opponent. If you don't move, he will hellfire you. If you do move, he will teleport at you. There is no winning here.
In addition, you cannot use interactables against Scorpion. If you attempt to, your opponent can easily jump and teleport on reaction: hitting you out of your own move and then starting a punishing combo (40%+). With the release of Scorpion, NRS caused this game to transition to a "pay to win" system. If you pay $5, you can download Scorpion as an extra fighter. If you use Scorpion, you can beat practically anybody without doing your homework. You don't need to know fancy combos or frame data. You don't need to know what your opponent is capable of. If you spam hellfire, teleport, and jumping 3, you will beat almost everybody you play online.
Scorpion has completely ruined the game. Even though NRS is attempting to fix these issues, not enough will be done to make Scorpion a fair match. Unfortunately, I had to stop playing this game because of the one character. He simply breaks the game and makes it completely not fun.
The major rule of thumb in fighting games is this: if you know exactly what your opponent is going to do next, you should be able to stop it. Against Scorpion, this is no longer true. You know very well that he's going to randomly teleport, but you simply can't stop it. The interactables issue is similar. You know what your opponent is going to use them, but in some situations, you can't avoid being hit ("meaty" interactables). As of right now, the game is just too unbalanced to be taken seriously. It's a shame. This game had a lot of potential.
