I ordered this kit as a plan B, due to difficulties ordering directly from the Microsoft store online.

Unfortunately, this is not the entire Xbox 360 HD data transfer kit. It is only the cable included in said package.

In order to transfer data from an Xbox 360 to another 360, you need a corresponding disc to insert into the Xbox, which this product DOES NOT SHIP WITH.

If you're intending to use this for Xbox Data Migration, (as i was) refrain from purchasing this product from this seller, and buy it directly from the Microsoft store online!

First of all, This item is like poison to your hardrive. Any hard drive that you connect to this fake transfer kit will suffer the same fate as mines did. If you connect this to your harddrive and 360, The new drive that you have connected to the transfer kit will be detected as a USB drive for some reason, And the 360 will ask you to format it, From there your hard drive is completely ruined beyond return. I don't understand why people sell these fake transfer kits when all they do is ruin other people's 360s.

Buy an official transfer kit from Gamestop or any official outlet that sells it. It seems unfortunate that buying it from sellers off amazon is a scam.

Don't buy ANYTHING from this seller. Its a counterfeit cord that he tries to justify by cost. Didn't work. The XBOX thought it was USB Flash Drive and if you don't pay attention it will delete your hard drive. To top it off he's rude about it like its ok for him to sell items that say Microsoft on them when are fakes from Asia.

As the other review stated this is an incomplete product. Don't be fooled by people claiming that the new Slim 360 has the data mitigation software built in, it doesn't. I just got my slim recently and bought this product believing one of the 5 star reviews. I hooked it all up and it does see the drive... as a USB device that needs to be formatted. Great format your drive and you've just defeated the purpose of buying the silly cord. Save yourself the 10 bucks (after shipping) and use it towards the official package that comes with the DVD software.

So the first thing I did was plug it into my PC (which I find odd that it says to do that), and it recognizes the adapter but doesn't recognize the Xbox 360 HDD. So then I though "Maybe there's a driver I need on the CD that came with it" I put the CD into my drive and immediately get a warning from my antivirus that there was malware on the CD and it had automatically removed it.

I opened the Word Document on the CD that is the "Instructions" on how to use this kit (Remember, this is labeled as a Hard Drive Transfer Cable) and if you can read the garbled English, from what I can tell it doesn't actually get used for transferring data. Instead it is basically a save file hacking tool that is completely useless to me and NOT what I ordered.

I plugged the adapter into my Xbox and it didn't recognize the drive at all, so now I've basically got a useless kit that I'm scared to even fully test out now and am considering throwing away.

Yes, the other adapter is more expensive than this. Key points to the other one:

-It will get to you a lot faster than this ever will (Mine was in the mail for a month)

-It will not have a potential virus

-It will not be used for save file hacking

-It will be properly recognized by your Xbox 360

-It will actually transfer data
