After years of getting robbed by the cable company we had enough and got rid of cable TV. We bought the Wii system and have enjoyed it very much! My wife and 5 year old child never get tired of the games and we all enjoy watching movies on it from Netflix.

The system is easy to set up and you can be using it in a matter of a few minutes. The games are fun, the graphics are great, and the extra features like the news channel and weather has me not missing TV at all.

Get off the couch and get a Wii.

We bought our Wii in 2007my husband went down to Best Buy in the middle of the night and waited on a line that snaked around the building in the hopes of maybe scoring one of these elusive consoles.

He DID score one, and we've been playing almost daily (which is pretty amazing for a console and games that are more than three years old!) since then.

A snap to set up, incredibly easy to use. The Wii-mote is a game control like no othersimply wave it like a magic wand and the sensor bar, which comes with the console, picks up the signal and communicates your position and movement to the Wii so that you can twirl, swoop, smash, lunge, jump your heart away as you play.

Our whole family has gotten a lot out of this console. I'm 36, female, and NOT a gamer, and I've found myself gravitating towards puzzle games, fishing (!!), the Endless Ocean series, brain teasers, and the Wii Sports Franchise, my daughter (who was a little over one year old when the Wii arrived) has always been able to play along and now is addicted to the many games out for preschoolers (Dora/Diego, the different Disney gamesespecially Princess and the Frog, Carnival Games, Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort) and my husband, in his 40's, does everything from Zelda to playing poker on the Wii.

We spent a significant amount of time playing together, but we also play alone.

I think, in many ways, the Wii has become our "family board game". It's a life saver in summer and during Florida Hurricane Season, when it's rainy and too hot to go outside. We can all gather together and get our mind off the gloomy weather for a bit.

I've always had game consoles since I was a little kideverything from Atari 2600 (which I MOURNED until the Wii came into my life), Super Nintendo, Xbox. The Wii has not only shocked me with how much use it's getting, but the fact it's STILL getting so much useit's novelty has NOT worn off at all, which is rare for any technology, especially game consoles.

I can't recommend this enough. Definitely a GREAT investmentinstead of spending $20-50 for each member of your family on a toy/gadget that loses it's luster, get the Wii and make everyone happy for a long time. And you will be more than ready to go with both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Even though we've had both games for a while (we've had Wii Sports forever since it came with our Wii), they are still the games my family always goes back to.

I only bought the Wii now, even though it has been out for years. I really wish I had bought one sooner. It is cheaper than PS3 (the console I would normally buy if I had to get just 1), but I don't like the collection of games PS3 has right now. They definitely have more, but I feel like the games are mostly geared towards guys, and they're missing the cute games like Mario that I grew up on. This bundle comes with Wii Sports and Sports Resort, which are incredibly fun. If you're not one to go out and play sports, this is the next best thing. Nintendo Wii is affordable for most people too unlike the PS3. Definitely recommended for adults and kids alike.

While it arrived on a timely manner, I was disappointed.

I unpacked it to find no instruction book. So I had to wait til this weekend when my son came to set the Wii up.

It was listed as 'perfect'condition but the remote was dirty, obviously used and not cleaned up. The remote was also missing the wrist strap.

The main unit is laying flat because the stand is also missing.

I did save money from buying thru Amazon but not that much. Buying brand new would have given me all the parts, which I expected to get.

I want to love Wii, but Nintendo's ignorance prevents it from being more than a way to entertain groups of people that may randomly show up at my home. The fact they insisted on sticking with 480p while the rest of the world moved on to bigger and better things like 720p/1080p means that it's never going to look "great" on an high def TV. Next, the motion controls can be a bit flaky. They improved with the Motion Plus add-on, but creating additional hardware requirements destroys the simplicity console gamers enjoy. Next, because the Wii is essentially a smaller Gamecube with better specs, it's not given the credit its due. Sure it didn't have problems pushing sales, but there are very few people I know who actually still use their Wii. That's a shame really, because there are some great games that I don't feel get recognition because they are on the Wii. Pretty much every first party title from Nintendo is worth playing from start to finish, and third parties have managed to make good use of the control scheme, such as the ultraviolent Madworld, the sweat inducing Just Dance series, the Tiger Woods series, Okami, Goldeneye, and Muramasa just to name a few. Unfortunately there are so many crappy titles that are released with piss poor implementation of the motion sensing, that it makes it hard for the casual gamers to sort through the crap from the true gems. I'd argue it's much easier for a bad Wii game to push someone away from the console then a bad PS3/360 game. The latter both use traditional control schemes (ignoring the Kinect and Move) so it's much easier to at least create a mediocre control scheme. It's almost expected all Wii games will include some use of the Wiimote's motion sensing gimmick, and more often than not the combination of the hardware faults of the remote with the software can lead to a terrible experience. Hopefully Nintendo learns from it's mistakes, and doesn't let sales numbers alone create a false sense of success. After the original hype around the Wii died down, I can't honestly say I've ever heard someone praising a Wii game that was released. That may be because I work with a bunch of Sony/Microsoft fanboys, but almost all of us own a Wii.
