So far so good 2 weeks in and it works like a charm, except for one bug at the very beggining. I had no sound, but I fouond out the hard way that the splitter has a certain order to follow when connecting it. If you connect the power to the splitter first and then the HDMI cables you are GOLDEN. Perfect amplified signal both image and sound, couldnt ask for more.

Before buying i read alot of reviews saying "Bad Quality", "It burns out", etc. But so far no problems It was well worth the risk for the price and it payed off. If it where to burn out in the future I will let you know.

This is a side note for any of you looking to split HD signal from 1 in to 2 out:

Currently I have a sony Play Station 3 connected to two TV's first TV is a Sony 42 inch and the second is a Philips LCD 55 inch, both support 1080p. The splitter I bought is the following: HDMI 1x2 3D splitter v1.3 HDCP 2 ports swither 3 4 5 8 PS3 XBOX360 DVD Blu-rayI was going to buy a more expencive one but I gave this a try 2 weeks in and so far so good. It amplifies the signal and believe it or not I kinda feel the signal is even faster than when I had a single TV directly to the PS3.

I read that splitters work best with 24AWG cables (this is the thinckness of the cable, the smaller the number the thicker the cable) For the 50ft span from the splitter to the Philips 55" LCD screen I used this cable: PTC 50ft 24AWG Premium GOLD Series CL2 rated High Speed HDMI with Ethernet Supports 3D, 4K video, Audio Return Channel, Ethernet over HDMIand it works great. for the 6ft spans from PS3 to splitter and from splitter to 42" sony LCD screen I used the following: TWIN VALUE PACK 6 FT PTC DELUXE Grade HDMI 1.3 Certified CL2 rated Supports PS3, X-Box, Blu-Ray, and AL HDTV resolutions including 1440pAlso amazing quality cable brand MONOPRICE (it says it on the cable no bull).

I wanted to share my setup with everyone because it took me a long time before I decided on this setup, and it payed off. EVERYTHING WORKS AMAZING CAN'T BE ANY HAPPIER.

The Item pictured is a different model than what you will receive, what you will get is a plastic cased splitter that will NOT allow you to use a non HDCP compliant monitor/TV. The reviews stating that this will block/strip HDCP are referring to the metal case style of splitter shown in the picture. It is NOT what you will receive. Seller has changed the model he is selling without updating the picture, If you are looking for a hdcp stripper find one that appears exactly as pictured with the metal case and the same logo, stay away from this one.

Bought 2 of these, one to link my cable box from tv to computer monitor, and another to link my PS3 to another, separate monitor (I have a home PC running 3 monitors). I now can watch tv on one screen, compute on another, and play games on the third... all at once! No noticeable signal interference or banding, even when mounted right behind a sound bar with poor shielding; as another reviewer mentioned, the red LEDS are unnecessarily bright, but if you take 2 seconds to cover them up with electrical tape or some other opaque material, they become perfect! 10 stars in my book

Bought this because I had a problem with my HTPC and TV. My TV is 5 years old, and it doesn't have HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) so I wasn't able to watch TV with Windows Media Center because of it. I heard about this splitter and IT WORKS!

I only ran into 2 problems and they were related to me not the product:

* 1st connect it to the power THAN connect the HDMI cable or else you will have a problem with no Audio

* I had defects on the image, like white noise, turns out my HDMI cable was the culprit, it was missing data, causing some pixels to be missed. once I replaced the cable it worked flawlessly.

But it works as described, and it handles the HDCP for you.

It works great for any gamer trying and record their gaming or anyone trying to record anything directly from their HDMI feed and in my case just watching TV on a older TV set.

The only drawbacks are the LED gets to be a bit too bright ( easily fixed with a piece of tape over it) and the power cable connection is a bit loose (also fixed with a piece of tape). Remember it might all be hidden behind your tv, so who cares about the tape fixes? (for this price.... I'll take it anyday compared to a $300 HDfury )

The splitter advertises support for 3D which it will work from a PS3. Of course the whole idea is to split the audio off to a receiver that won't pass 3D through it. This is where the product does not work as advertised. It will not send audio to the receiver if it's passing through a 3D signal to the TV.
