I live in a loft with limited room, so I bought this as a way to watch television and play games on my monitor.

I've been pretty happy with it. Installation of software and hardware were both exceptionally easy. It's very light and fits most anywhere. The software it comes with isn't the best, but it works very well for what I use it for.

Pros: It looks good for what it is, there's no lag when I play it on my monitor, and I've yet to have any issues with it. The quality is better than most low-end capture cards I've tried. Like the E.Z. Cap or EasyCap or the EMVG one. I definitely recommend this to someone who doesn't want to spend all their money on a capture card.

Cons: However, the "HD" isn't really HD. This card is capable of 460p and 460i, which are still standard definitions. However if you want to play a console like a Wii in the HD settings, it's fully capable just don't expect it to look as pretty as on a regular television.

If you are not looking to spend a ton of money and want to record your gameplay then the GC500 will do the trick. Capturing in 1080i. The quality is not what you will get from the high priced capture cards, but it does exactly what is needed. If you are just getting into game capturing or YouTubing and don't wanna spend a ton of $$ then I would highly recommend this product. I will be stepping up to higher quality in the future, but for now...this is perfect. On another note...the editing software that is included is great! Very satisfied with it.

I use this for recording video games on youtube. It records up to 720p which is more than enough. There's no lag from the device to the TV or the computer. The software works well enough but the icons look like they were drawn by a fourth-grader, which makes it look like cheap software. If you want to record yourself talking over whatever you're recording you're gonna need separate software and you're going to have to edit that audio file in with the gameplay. Overall its a good product but it's not really professional quality.

I finally set this up for my son but please note that you will need additional cables for the Xbox 360. We bought the Component HD AV cable set from game stop which was $14 (pre owned). After the set up, it seems to work good for what we want it for.

Seems like a quality product. Easy installation. 13 year old boy is using it to record Xbox gaming. I may use it to record some stuff I would like a digital copy of .
