If your do a search online you will find that Broken statues are pretty common. Along with many other broken things like game cases and soundtrack cases BUT mine only came with a broken statue so i didnt take all the stars away. Just be careful about buying this. Some people dont want to give refunds *gamestop* just because the statue is broken. Aside from that everything was in good condition.

Best Deals for Ninja Gaiden 3 Collector's Edition

I thought this game would be unplayable. yes it has some cheap grabby A.I. yes the camera during one of the bosses was just awful & yes the gore is gone as far as limbs flying all over the place ( i loved that) but thats about it.

I just finished beating it on hard mode & i'm going to take star MASTER NINJA MODE tomorrow.

One of the main enemies looks like Tom Cruise in that ballroom scene with the mask on so that's pretty cool lol.

the way people were trashing this game i expected the WORST. but its pretty good.

I got this collector's edition for the x360 for $40 & i really just got it for the statue & soundtrack. yes the game being good was a surprise after i heard it was bad bad baad.

the music is really good in some scenes. graphics are niiiiice!

I've beaten both other gaiden's for the xbox & x360 ( yes the insane gaiden 2 where they just spam you with dynamite)

& the DS gaiden. so while this one is not as awesome as those, it if you're a fan play it/get it.

it has its moments.

It does lack Itagaki's polish, i will admit that. It would have been a better game with him still in charge.

Honest reviews on Ninja Gaiden 3 Collector's Edition

(This is a review of the NG3 Collectors Edition contents only, not the game itself)

The Collectors Edition of Ninja Gaiden 3 is pretty nice, the box is a little plain but is sturdy. Once you open the box you get:

1. A retail version of the game (seems to be a common thing with CE's lately)

2. A soundtrack with its own jewel case (Not a cardboard sleeve like most)

3. A softcover artbook (nice colorful pictures, would have been nice if it was a hardcover)

4. A DOA 5 Beta Demo (Which did not work when Ninja Gaiden 3 released.)

5. A separate boxed Ryu Hayabusa and Masked Figure statue fighting each other. (This second box is rather nicely detailed.)

The statue itself is nicely detailed the characters are painted and look similar to how they do in the game, there is an appropriate amount of blood and they are both pretty heavy and look amazing when displayed. The problem here is they come disassembled and can be a pain to set up (you have to slide the sword through Ryu and place Ryu's sword in the Masked figures cut)in some cases the stand was cast incorrectly and only 1 foot on Ryu's side was able to be inserted. Another flaw is that Ryu's sword in most cases is broken where the hilt and blade meet. Some are completely broken, others are only partially (in my case the sword was ripped about 70% of the way.), As soon as you move Ryu's sword to the Masked figures cut the sword will brake. (This happened to me but I was able to balance the blade between the hilt and the Masked figures cut, you cant even tell its broken and saved me from trying to crazy glue the thing.) This in my opinion kills the value of the Collectors Edition, (which is why I took the figures out of the package to display them)and is why I waited to get it at less then a fourth ($38 after tax) of its retail price.

Overall if you absolutely must have this edition, get it cheap as the sword will almost always be broken or ripped.

Well, the game itself (Ninja Gaiden 3) is a lot faster paced than the previous titles in this series. Graphics are slightly better than before and combat feels a bit less fluid, but more manuverable. The boss fights, though not up to par of Ninja Gaiden 1, are equivalent to anything the second game could throw at you. The multiplayer mode sucks. I wish there were more playable characters, but just Ryu is perfectly okay as well.

The artbook that comes in this edition is very well made, despite the fact that it is a paperback. The designs and character information are entertaining. The statue sadly has problems, specificly Ryu's sword keeps breaking. I glued it and it broke a couple days ago. It's probably fine if you put the statue somewhere it would never be moved or touched. It is, after all, a statue. The characters depicted in the statue look identical to how they appear in the game, which is a plus.

This edition also comes with the beta demo for Dead Or Alive 5, which is cool enough that I wanted to buy it on launch day, however I decided not to.
