I beat this expansion, finishing it after the main campaign, at level 35 as Axton. Lets go through a quick pros/cons list:

Pros:

*It's a new area*

*New vehicle(and it's awesome!)*

*Characters are 4/5(they're better than the main campaign's characters(seriously, does anyone think Scooter took more than 2 minutes to invent?))*

*New enemies that have different movesets*

*More easter eggs*

*A different palette was used to make the world(chests are different, textures, buildings, etc)*

*Some good loot*

*Storyline that takes a fair amount of time to progress through*

*Different environments; Nearly every map felt completely different*

*The rat people npc that covers its face while walking at you and takes A MILLION BULLETS TO KILL is nowhere to be seen, and they don't do that crap anywhere in this expansion(thank god)*

*There are more opportunities to farm items than in the Borderlands 2 main campaign*

Cons:

*Was more demanding on my computer. I had to turn PhysX down to medium to avoid stutter from bullet spatter. This could be due to the differences in map sizes(most are huge) or textures* EDIT: This has been patched. Running on max again without issues.

*Some of the bosses are really easy*

*Most of the unique items from quest rewards are garbage. There's the god-sniper-rifle and then a bunch of items with horrendous side-effect-drawbacks. Like the relic that gives you health per kill but cuts your last stand time to zilch. Why?*

*The vehicle is great, but it wasn't used enough. It gets introduced and then serves no real purpose outside of one race event(though I suppose that's a problem with Borderlands 2 in general)*

*The ending was alright, but I didn't feel like enough was resolved*

*Although the story seems interesting while you're in the thick of it, after completing it you'll realize that it's ultimately a giant fetch quest with twists you see coming a mile away*

Now that we're done with that I have one last point to make:

Oh man was this a great DLC. There was maybe 20 minutes of drag during the 6-8 hours it took to get through it. I'm a difficult person to impress and I found this to be simply fantastic.

After beating this DLC bunch of times and farming the hell out of hyperius and Master Gee, I am surprised that this DLC

only costed 10 bucks.

Pro

-New area, new textures, original and entertaining NPC, different enemies (although most are just different looks)

Anchorman is one of my favorite enemy btw.

-Two new bosses who replaces the pathetically weak, dies-in-10-sec, too easy, Terramorphous the moron

Hyperius soaks up tons of dmg that even a full party equipped with bee shield and Conference Call has to actually "Try"

Master Gee, the "your guns are useless against me" dude, forces the players to drop the cliche Bee+CC combination and use teamwork.

-New seraph items to check out

although they require A LOT OF TIME to get.

-Tons of side quest and pretty cool main story line.

-New ride that can fly! (for a short time of course)

Cons

-Seraph items are mostly useless, although the Seraph's blood relic is one of the most powerful relic in-game.

(around 10-24% hp boost and 1.1-2% hp regen, while the blood of terramorphous is only 0.5% hp regen)

The evolution would probably replace the Bee Shield once it gets nerfed. Insanely high HP boost and decent regen.

Arguably better than any other orange shields like Hide of Terra, Whiskey Tango Foxtrott, Negotiator, Cradle, and etc.

(I own them all and tried them all out)

(Also, the "We need to talk about your DPS report" SMG is better than the Social Bi=== or Blogga, I think. 7700 dmg and hyperion accuracy is just insane.)

-Bosses aren't really worth farming. Considering the amount of time and people it takes to kill them, their loot drop is rather disappointing.

I killed Hyperius and Gee about hundred times (my total bd2 play time is around 250 hours), but Warrior and Terramorphous is WAY better in both time and loot.

(Also, their 1 day limit is really the deal-breaker considering that Terra and Warrior can be killed as much as you want. Or you could kill Hunter Hellquest 100000 times to get the most OP shield in-game: the bee)

However, this is just my point of view: someone who farms all day all night for various kinds of legendary weapons, grenade mods, shields, own 4 lvl 50 chars and pretty-much-done-with borderlands2

If you are not someone like me, just want a new story and new enemy, enjoy some new quests, and most importantly, want some FUN!!!, this DLC will probably be worth more than 5 stars to you.

Best Deals for Borderlands 2 Pirate's Booty DLC

This game presented a challenge imediately and I was rewarded with some really cool weapons. First of all, I am not a hardcore player, mediocre you might say. There are a lot of purple and violet type weapons in this games. Too bad there's no place to store them at. I found myself making some tough discissions on which ones to get rid of and which ones to keep. The game overall was worth the small investment into it, I really felt I got my bucks worth out of this game.

Honest reviews on Borderlands 2 Pirate's Booty DLC

Not the best dlc...not the worst.

It's still BL2 at the end of the day so it's not all bad.

...could be better............like say Torgue.
