Was Wipeout 1 a good game?? Personally, when I read a review that someones kid liked the game or they got a good deal, that doesn't qualify as to me as a legitimate review. YOU have to play the game to review it effectively. I've played mostly every Kinect title and reviewed most. Wipeout 1 suffered from a serious motion control issue. The controls were horrible, and if you have played the game and didn't have an issue with getting past the big balls, you have achieved more than 5 of my friends and myself have.
Fast forward to Wipeout 3. Motion controls fixed. FINALLY! PLUS, a big PLUS, you don't have to run. You can just use your arms as you would as if you were running. To jump, you lift your hands up in the air. You can tilt your body backwards or forwards to adjust or when you're in the air to go further or shorter.
It's the same Wipeout, that had the horrible controls with FIXED controls. In the original Wipeout, if you couldn't get past an obstacle, you'd use an arm motion, and you'd be docked a certain amount of penalty time. With the current Wipeout, you have 3 attempts to master that obstacle. At that point, if you failed the game would advance you past that obstacle.
I'd like to thank the developers for ignoring the glowing reviews from a broken game, and get down to work to fix the issues that they knew existed. Great job! Third times a charm!
